I saw her come out the exit way and...
Are you drunk already?
That's just fun. That's a good clean fun.
You know, and I thought it was kind of creepy that we followed her here.
Don't worry about it. Call it even Stevens.
It is lucky then that I met you here.
I know you don't like an unfair fight.
Sorry, buddy. Time to change the tune.
What a jerk!
Oh, beautiful.
Well struck.
I, I mean, I don't know how to...
How to put this together in my brain.
This is...
A dwarf in iron fist armor.
A foxman with a bow.
I don't suppose you would be Red's
Rovers, would you?
Hey.
Well, how did you know that?
Welcome back to Dice Shame.
This is Season 2, Episode 132, Raise the Bar.
MVP this week is Tim Woods.
Tim is the author of the incredible Green Knight RPG.
We played it on the Invictus live stream, and it was released, and it was one of my
personal standout role-playing experiences of my entire life. Tim is also the author of Random Tables,
cities and towns, a game master's companion for generating unique settlements, which I've been
using as of late and it's been giving all the flavor. Besides all of that, Tim is a lovely person
and well worth this shout out. Thanks so much, Tim. You are this week's MVP.
All right, shall we do this? Yeah, let's do it. Yeah.
Red, Doran, and Whim,
the three of you come out of Al Hamor, the fighting ring.
As the heavens open up all around you,
people are scurrying for cover to the nearby taverns and restaurants.
Did you see where she went, Doran?
Who?
The person, you just said you wanted to follow.
Oh, right, yeah, no, I did.
Tamil.
I saw her come out the exit way.
Are you drunk already?
Doran stands there finishing his wine skin
and looks around at the crowd
that's leaving.
She was pretty tall.
She probably has a wide gate.
Red will roll tracking.
Yeah.
Oh, nice.
Wim mimics like short hair on the sides
and like long ponytail.
Yeah, it doesn't help as much with tracking,
Wim, but I'll add it to the mix.
What are you hoping that she like
leaves a trail of emeralds?
Like a scent?
Oh.
Oh, darling.
It is raining, and I am an expert tracker.
She did have those special shoes.
Yeah, I know.
I know how they were worn.
Roll survival.
I just did.
What did you get?
Eleven.
I didn't know shit.
But I roll with advantage.
Uh-huh.
That's way better.
24.
Oh, all right.
These footprints that you're almost positive belong to Tamil.
lead back to the tavern, the harvest room.
Oh, I'm 24 positive.
My mistake.
You guys are looking at the footprints in the mud,
and Wim is, like, making a footprint
and checking what her footprint looks like
beside the other footprint.
She's making like that big bird.
And then she's doing that bird thing
where you make three, and then two,
that kids always do in the snow.
She's doing that.
That's just fun.
That's a good, clean fun.
Come on, darn.
And Red leads them off to the harvest room.
You make your way back to the tavern that you had visited before, the harvest room.
It's less cozy now that it's dark outside and the tavern is a lot more full of people.
There's like puddles from people coming in wet from outside, like folks shaking themselves off in the entryway.
And you recognize Matild behind the bar.
She's got another person working with her now that the bar is.
more than half full, and they are
slinging drinks around. Red
is definitely one of those patrons that enters in shakes.
Literally.
Yeah, is Tamil in here? Yeah, Tamil, where are you?
Tamil is sitting at the bar.
Yeah, she's sitting there at the bar, Doran. That's right.
And Red walks over.
Whim follows you in.
Hey, Tamil, funny we meeting
you here.
Oh, you again.
Yes, well, you know, my friend
Doran here was quite impressed with your prowess at the um that's right al hamore my my prowess at
yelling well i think we all know he's a little more than yelling you didn't want to see the little
guy go under without a fair fight and well hell that speaks to our cause and our vibe in general
uh i was very impressed again by your uh demeanor in the in the stadium there and
Matild comes over and she tries to take your order,
and then she looks at you, Temeel, and she shakes her head.
She goes, no more emeralds.
I don't, the gem exchanger in town.
Please, do you have silver?
I do have a little for this drink anyway.
Hey, hey, drink's on us.
Red Regersers' pocket pulls out of silver and slaps it down.
Don't worry about it.
Call it even Stevens.
That's funny, you pay with emerald.
too. The person we were looking for that
Matild also pays with emeralds. There must be a few
of them going around, eh? Matild?
Matild just looks at you with this blank
expression.
Why are you looking at me? Would you like an ale?
Well, two a ales and a root beer, please.
And Red puts down the money.
Doran's standing there watching this
scene unfold
sort of puts two and two together
surprisingly quicker than Red
and steps forward.
Well, it seems like
you are the person we were looking for after all.
I could be.
No, Doran.
The person we were looking for came in here talking about the ordnning and giants and all that kind of stuff.
Tamil, we met at the fight arena, you goofball.
Tamil turns in her stool.
You have her full attention now.
I'm sorry.
Could you say that again for me?
The fighting?
We were looking for some...
No, no.
The ordaining?
Giants? Red?
You're such an intense gaze.
Yeah, I mean, like eyes locked on you, like laser beams.
Perhaps we should go to a table.
Sure, sure, yes.
And you lead away, read like gestures and then walks the door and said I say something wrong.
That was so intense.
Yeah, there are some free tables off to one side, kind of up on a little platform on the side of the room.
And we follow her over.
Listen, this is a bit awkward, Temeel, right?
Yes.
Did I get that right?
Yes, you did.
All right.
We're here.
Let's talk.
How do you know about the ordaining and the giants?
Do you see a hesitant expression on her face?
She kind of leans back in the chair.
Like she's appraising you.
You're getting an up and down.
look. She's looking at each of you in turn.
Scanned. Yeah.
And Red is like decked out in magic gear.
He wears it very humbly underneath like a green cloak.
And for a second, you sort of read, even without insight, that a lot of his aloofness and
his idiocy, while some of it genuine, a lot of it is sort of an outward defense mechanism,
you know, a lot of it is sort of.
meant to be a disarming.
And you meet his eyes for a second,
and do see there's like a, maybe not an intelligence,
but definitely a wisdom behind those eyes and a cleverness.
Whim, who is sitting beside you, Tamil,
is a human girl of 16 years old.
She's wearing kind of casual adventuring clothes,
and she has short brown hair.
you can tell based on how you haven't heard her speak
and the way that she mostly uses gestures,
that she does not communicate verbally.
But you can also tell that behind her maybe naivety,
her youth, that there is some kind of deep power there
that lends her a self-assured quality.
Strapped in furs and leathers,
allowing only slips of golden plate arms,
armor to show through your initial perception of this grisly looking dwarf might be something more
mundane until you take a moment and realize the beautifully crafted gauntlets he's wearing. The
rings and armor that adorns his body are that of real quality and extreme craftsmanship.
The axe, which is strapped to his back, has a large stone.
and ruin engraving at the top of it.
So Tamil's gaze drifts over each of you in turn,
and then out loud, she says,
a dwarf in iron fist armor,
a foxman with a bow,
I don't suppose you would be Red's rovers, would you?
Hey.
Well, how did you know that?
I make it my business to be aware of adventurers,
those with heroic victories under their belts.
Oh.
Blushy!
You know, and I thought it was kind of creepy that we followed her here.
No.
She knows where we come from.
Well, that's great.
That must have been why you were speaking of the ordaining and giants and whatnot.
That's wonderful, so you know of our exploits.
I know some of them.
I'm aware of Deadstone cleft.
Good work there.
And also that business in Jalenthal.
Oh, thank you.
You, yes.
Jalenthal was quite bloody.
That's where this guy got his breastplate, Red Knox, Doran's chest.
Yeah.
Okay, so were you, and listen, no judgment or shade,
but were you, you know, sharing some of our exploits against the giants,
or just to tell a tale?
Yeah.
Well, it is lucky then that I met you here,
although, more likely, destiny has once again
moved its hand in my way.
Whim waggles her eyebrows at you.
How so? What do you mean? And Red gets serious all of a sudden.
Mm-hmm.
Timmel kind of like leans in across the table,
but she makes sure to position her body so that her mouth is still visible to Wim.
Mm-hmm.
And she says,
I am on a quest myself.
You see, this ordaining, the,
the hierarchy.
of the giants has been thrown into tumult
and I have been
tasked with
setting it right again
huh
hold on
wait who tasked you with that
yes that's a good question
well it wasn't just it was our task
I'm sorry
I was just saying red I thought that was our task
well it is but hold on who tasked you
with it well who tasked you with it
well I'll show you
We'll tell you when you tell us.
We were picked up by a cloud giant named Zephyros.
Yes.
No.
No!
Zephyros.
Hold on.
Wait a minute.
Clearly you're putting us on.
Wait a minute.
Everyone just take it.
Everyone calm down.
You heard our stories.
I'm sure you've heard about Zephyros.
You were picked up by a cloud giant named Zephros and given the task of the reordening.
Myself and some of my fellows, yes
Well, boy, that makes me feel cheap
That same thing happened to us and some of our fellows
Oh, where are your...
Red sits back in his chair
Where are your fellows now?
Dorn sort of leans forward and looking around the tavern.
When you ask that there is just a shadow
that passes over to Amil's face,
she gets a little quiet.
and you can sense a tension kind of enter her body.
And kind of defensively, she says,
well, I could ask you the same.
Weren't there five of you?
Right.
No, that's fair.
Whim looks down into her rubier.
Yeah, sits back, realizing maybe he overstep at that question.
Look, look, look, look.
This has major ramifications if this is true.
and I mean
I imagine it is
so
Zephyros picked you
and your three companions
up and tasked you
with the reordining as well
about giant kind and
whatnot
there were four others but yes
we were traveling
we were just moving our way
through this world and we ran into this
ridiculous
cloud castle
and who I'm now realizing is perhaps an addle-minded giant
thought he didn't seem very connected to their society at all
No, he's a bit of a weirdo
He told us that he had spoken to some entities
And they told him that there were small folk
Who would be vital in the reorganization of their society
Well, doesn't that just bite it?
Well, when did this happen?
This was mid-deep winter.
Mid-deep winter?
The 14th day of Hammer.
That was right around the time that Kralath died, Red says, and looks towards Doran.
Oh, I guess so.
I mean, can't really blame Zephros.
I mean, why wouldn't you, wouldn't you do the same?
You're told it was little folks, so you just...
hire every little folk that come along and
well, someone's bound to do the task.
I guess, I mean, this puts
a lot of pressure on people like Tamil
and her companions, I mean.
Whim signs, maybe we all look the same.
Yeah, it's possible.
I guess, sure.
So, hold on.
How did you hear about Reds Rovers then?
As I said, I've made it my business to
learn as much as I can
about those who might be able to join me in my quest
because now it is
just me.
Well, I mean, not to, you know,
point any fingers, but
you didn't seem to be looking for us very hard,
Red says almost like a bit nervously.
Oh, let me be clear, I wasn't looking for you in particular.
Oh.
There are several adventuring parties
that make their way through this world.
Yeah.
To be clear, I did not know
that you were tasked with this as well.
Oh.
I only knew that you were heroes of some reputation.
Oh, I understand.
Right, that makes sense.
Yeah, pretty awesome to be recognized, having never been met before.
No, totally, yeah, totally.
I mean, I don't know how to put this together in my brain.
This is, this is...
I hardly do either.
I agree that if all small folk look the same to a giant,
perhaps you would try to get as many on the job as possible,
but I have lost people very dear to me as a result of this quest.
I was told it was destiny.
As have we lost people, and me too.
I mean, I can't count the number of arguments we had in and amongst the party,
believing that this was something that they had to do.
One of our recently fallen members said so many times how long.
he would have loved to leave this all behind
and live a simple life in Waterdeep
but he couldn't because this was his destiny
I mean the goal of some
and Red like sits back
upset a little bit
It's almost
It's almost too much
Wim reaches across the table and takes your hand
Thanks Wimmy
Yeah Doran gets up from the booth
And says
Just give me a minute
And he steps away
Is he all right
Yeah, yeah. We've lost two party members recently. One died, Jack. The other left because, well, I think that's what she did when things got too difficult. And no shade to her, that's how some people have to cope. But he was connected very closely to both of them.
I see.
More so than me.
Really?
Well, I mean, Jack and I always tended to butt heads.
You know, he was a bit like, well, I guess I always viewed him as a brother,
and I think he viewed me as the annoying brother.
Just like a kind of a non-committal, like non-judgmental, not.
I wonder how he would have seen that.
Doran, where did you go?
Oh, it's only a moment when Doran actually returns to the table with four.
very large tankards of ale.
And he sets them on the table.
Red just reaches across the table and slides, whims, tankard over to him.
He says, to me, there's only one way to celebrate meeting someone that's been tasked with
the exact same adventure as yourself, and that's to drink and be merry in the best
fashion that's possible.
So, with a heavy heart, but also
with optimistic eyes, I would like to
raise this glass to, well, to us
because we're going to save the world, I guess.
I'll do this much to three bastards
that got duped into something. Redd lifts his glass.
Tumil reaches across and she accepts one of the tankards
and then she says, I think before we toast to the future,
perhaps we can honor our fallen comrades.
Oh, you're here.
Yeah, totally, yeah.
To those we've lost along the way.
To those we've lost along the way.
The front door of the tavern slams open,
and a man stands in the doorway,
wind swept, dripping wet from the rain,
and silhouetted by lightning.
He takes a heavy few steps into the,
bar, and we see up close and personal now, Wrangell Glake.
How ironic that we were just looking for a moment with silence.
As soon as Tamil sees Rangel come in the door, she rolls her eyes and she says,
oh, here we go, and she stands up.
Oh, what?
Red light turns around, confused.
I've got to go fight this guy.
Well, you don't have to fight this guy.
Why do you got to fight this guy?
What do you mean?
Well, he doesn't need a fight.
Hey, friend, Red stands up.
You don't want to fight, right?
Red calls out across the bar.
The man's face snaps towards you.
His burn scars highlighted it deeply from the candlelight in the tavern.
And he quickly assesses the four of you at the table.
And he says,
I've got business with you.
And he points the longsword across the bar directly at you, Tamil.
Meanwhile, behind him, two other people filter into the bar, cloaked and looking furtive.
Tamil, what does furtive mean?
Not red.
Do they look like they're with Wrangell?
Yeah, a little bit.
Okay.
But what does furtive mean?
It's like secrety.
Yeah.
Dorin sitting now in Tamil's seat was expecting to watch a fair fight go down.
When he sees these other two people approach and stands up,
well now, I know that Tamil doesn't like weighted fights.
That's not really fair now.
And if you're going to say three on one, then we're going to make it three on three.
Doran sort of looks at red, gizum a nod, right?
Whim looks between the three of you and then just kind of like shrugs and puts her hands behind her head.
Like, I can sit out.
I think that Tamil looks at both of you and she says,
This doesn't have to be your fight
Oh now, you can't say that
Red's like slowly pulling out his boat
A smile starts to creep across her face
It's always been our fight to me
Thorne retrieves his axe off his back
I know you don't like an unfair fight
It wouldn't be right if we just sat here
You get a nudge
And Ork Splitter says
Let's fucking go! Everybody roll for initiative
All right
Joe, am I right in that, like, acknowledging that fighting shouldn't happen in the bar is, we're past that point already?
Listen, you've been told no fighting in the bar by the proprietor.
It's like there's a sign behind the bar that says no fighting in the bar, but no one's going to put you in jail.
I mean, if they catch you, they might, but you'll be fine.
Don't worry about it.
Cool.
Plus this guy's the one that's picking the fight.
That's right.
It's his officer.
He started it.
We were just there defending ourselves.
Alex, what did you get?
That is going to be a 17.
Harlan, what did you get?
16.
16.
Nick, what about you?
14.
14.
Nice.
Bringing up the rear.
We got Wim with eight.
Top of the round is Doran.
I'm thinking for story-wise defer.
Sounds good
Doran's going to defer
Cool
Harlan you want
Red to defer
Yeah Red will defer too
Kind of looking to
Tamil for the first
action
Tamil you're up
Tamil
Stans up
She takes the tankard
off the table
She throws back
its contents
And then with a big
Sets down
the tankard on the table
again
And she starts
Almost languidly
Walking over towards
Rangel
And as she does
She removes from her back this javelin,
and she kind of casually starts spinning it in her hand.
And as she does, these little kind of moats of electricity
start to crackle and spit off of the end.
And she walks up to him, and she says,
All right, let's get this done.
And she will take a swing with static, her javelin.
Oh, fuck yeah.
Welcome to the show.
Static.
Did you see that?
Holy shit.
She's got electricity.
That's cool.
What you roll.
I rolled a 19 to hit.
That'll do it.
19 hit.
Nice.
Okay.
So that will be nine damage.
Fabulous.
And then she will swing again.
A 23 to hit.
Yes, absolutely.
Good Matt.
Okay.
And that is another 11 damage.
Marvel.
Fuck yeah.
Two beefy blows.
Rangel is.
knocked on his heels as static makes contact.
Is that the name of your javelin?
Yeah.
Oh, wow.
Okay.
One more thing here.
So when she, when she whips static around for that second hit,
she does this extra little, it's not a twirl exactly,
this extra little flourish of it.
And, do-do, do, oh, wow, she does an extra eight damage.
Yes.
And I'm using a defensive flourish.
and so this is going to add an extra eight to my AC.
I now have a 28 AC.
Wow.
Are you kidding me?
I am not.
That's fabulous.
Fuck.
Is that until the end of the round or until your next?
What is that?
Until the start of my next turn.
Fuck.
That's so cool.
I love that.
God, I'm excited with this character.
All right.
Next up, we have the two assassins that Rangel has managed to bring with him on this beatdown mission.
the first assassin scampers into the room
and makes their way behind one of the tables
where there are patrons currently enjoying some food.
Coward.
What a jerk!
From that vantage point,
he begins to fire arrows at you, Tameel.
Bring it on.
Now it's just become a matter of public service.
We're clearing the bar out of these rascals, you know?
However, with your defensive flourish,
a 20 does not hit you.
Nope.
Wow.
So the arrow comes singing at you
from the corner of the room
and you just,
whita!
She's knocking these away
with static, with her javelin
just as they come in.
It's like a spinning shield almost.
That's so cool.
The second assassin runs in behind Rangel,
vaults over two of the tables
and takes cover behind the second table,
which is sort of like in the middle.
middle of the room. And likewise, fires a pot shot at you with their crossbow. That's only a 13 to
hit, so you are safe. Next up, Rangel, who is head to head with you. First, he swings at you with this
long, cruel hook trying to keep you pinned to the spot. With a 17 he misses, and then angrily he swings at
you twice with this huge sword.
Oh, natural 20!
As the sword comes in, as a reaction, I'm going to use silvery barbs.
So when the sword comes in, it looks like it's going to hit her, but she holds up the
shield, and underneath it, she shouts, absolutely not.
That's amazing.
Yeah, so you have to roll again and use the lower of the two.
Wow.
Wow, 16 plus 9 to hit is 25, which misses you.
Wow, okay.
That's cool.
Great job.
And then for the final attack, nope, that's going to miss as well.
So these blows just hammering against your javelin, hammering against your shield, and he is denied.
Next up, we have Wim.
Wim cast a look over the top of her root beer at you.
You read and you, Doren, and she begins to cast a spell, and Doren, she throws a sliver of
licorice bark in your direction, and as it lands on the table in front of you, it sprays this
magical warmth up at you, and suddenly it feels like the blood in your veins is almost carbonated,
and you begin moving in super fast motion.
You are hasted for the next minute.
Hell yeah.
Doran, mechanically, we've never seen Haste on a fellow party member before.
No.
Until the spell ends, your speed is doubled.
You gain a plus two bonus to your AC, and you have advantage on dexterity saving throws.
You also gain an additional action on each of your turn.
Oh, fuck.
That's amazing.
Yes.
So welcome to the show, Haste.
Holy shit.
And then she sits back and puts her feet on the table.
Doran, it's your turn.
Holy crap, Doren feels a sudden urge to move and move quickly.
And doesn't he leap from his chair in a very cartoonish fashion
and tumbles across the room doing a sub-assault land right next to this farthest assassin
that's across the room and hidden behind a table?
Standing now in front of the shocked assassin, Doren's going to take two attack hits.
Marvelous.
The first one's going to be a 23 to hit.
Absolutely.
Doing 10 points of damage.
And then bringing it back around.
Oh, never mind.
A two.
So that's going to be a 12.
I rolled my attack and my damage days at the same time.
It's the damage that came up at once.
But that's going to be a 12 to hit.
No, that one misses.
Although you do get one extra weapon attack if you'd like.
So I can take another action, right?
Mm-hmm.
So that action can be used to dash, disengage, hide, use an object, or attack.
But when you attack, you can only use one additional attack as opposed to a multi-tach.
And so it's going to be that moment where Doran uses his commander's strike.
Ooh.
Doran turns over to our newest ally.
Tamil, make a quick attack now!
Just as a quick, does the battle maneuver require that I use my own?
my reaction to make the attack.
Ah.
It says that creature can immediately use its reaction to make one weapon attack, so yes.
For this round of hour to use my reaction, so I wouldn't be able to do that.
Nick, I'd like to just give you inspiration really quick for knowing how to play your character.
Yeah, really well done.
Great job.
Oh, you're right.
Use its reaction to make one weapon attack.
Yeah.
Well done.
I'm impressed.
Very impressed.
Okay.
I'm going to do a goading attack.
Okay.
It's a 29 to hit.
You take 17 points of damage
Now you have to make a wisdom saving throw
Okay
19
Okay you do you win
Never mind
I win the game
You win D&D
Cool
Yeah Doran you leap over
And attacking just a flurry of blows
Against this assassin
Meanwhile red what do you do
Red bends down and picks up his beer and bites it in his snoot.
All right, we're doing us.
And he tips his head back, drinking the beer as he puts an arrow into his bow.
And he spits the mug out and as he's doing this, climbs on top of the table and runs.
Using his feline agility 60 feet to the north end of the room and hops up on the piano.
Yeah, there are like patrons.
diving out of the way as you just nimbly jump across the tables.
You kick fear out of the way.
And then as you land on top of the piano, this bard looks up at you in fear and surprise.
Sorry, buddy. Time to change the tune.
And red fires an ethereal arrow from his bow.
In fact, the arrow looks real until he loses the string and it disappears into blue mist.
I am using a piercing arrow, and rather than make an attack roll, it fires in a straight line from my position, capturing both of the assassins that stand in a line behind.
So it's like a ray.
Yeah, it makes a one foot wide, 30 foot long shot.
Each character in that line must make a dexterity saving throw.
So both those guys need to do a dexterity throw.
Okay, I'm going to start from nearest and then work my way farthest.
Sure.
Oh, man, I rolled bullshit.
Good.
Oh, you did.
11 and then 16.
11 and 16.
The 11 fails and 16.
Ah, 16 passes.
The guy who failed takes 15 damage.
The guy who succeeded takes 7.
Fantastic.
And red eyes them.
How do they look?
The one that Doran's been fighting is bloody.
How does the guy standing in front of Tamil look?
Pretty hearty and healthy and happy.
Tamil, you want a hand or you want to take them down yourself? Red shouts.
Listen, I've got no pride associated with this.
We just have to get these ones out of here.
So, yeah, pile on.
Nuff said.
Red fires at Rangel's head.
This is going to be no special arrow, just fun.
Just a fun arrow.
Just a fun arrow.
Just a funerful arrow.
Just good old fashion.
Fly through the air, stab you in the eye, arrow.
Cheaky little arrow.
16 to hit?
No.
Ah, damn.
Red misses as the arrow sinks into the wall behind.
I'm quite good, actually.
You wouldn't believe it, but I'm good.
Oh, yeah.
Top of the round.
Tamil.
Tamil is still engaged with Wrangell.
I think that they're doing this thing where they butt up against each other and then they push away.
She's taking swings.
She's going to whack him with this.
Javelin one more time.
Okay, that is a 19 to hit.
Yes.
Eight damage on the first attack.
Marvelous.
For the second attack, a 22 to hit.
Nice.
I love these numbers.
Another 15 damage.
Nice.
Amazing.
And then I am going to use my bonus action to use my gift of spite one more time.
So I'm going to give the help action to Red since I'm engaged with Rangel.
Tamil will turn back to Red and say, a valiant effort.
You can try again.
I'll hold them.
a bit and so you're going to get the help action which means you can attack with
advantage the first time you hit him with your attack he will then have disadvantage
hell yeah thanks within the next for any attack he makes within the next minute i'll hit him this time
i promise and then i'm going to do one more defensive flourish so this is going to be more damage coming
in that's five extra damage on him and my ac is 25 nice oh so your ac is the damage you rolled
yeah so i'm using my bardic inspiration die that's metal yeah so
that's why it was 28 the first time
Exactly, yeah
That's fucking cool
Very cool
All right
It's the assassin's turns
Doren the assassin that is directly in front of you
Sets aside his light crossbow
And takes up his short sword
Attacking you with a 10 to hit
Which misses
Doren sort of laughs
And in his face
And then
And then another 10.
And like you said, your clothes are kind of hiding this golden breastplate.
And the assassin just like keeps trying to stab you in the chest.
And it's like, tink, tink, like not working.
Yeah, Dora's just like stepping to the side, like really not, not even phased.
Oh, I thought you guys were here for a brawl, not for empty threats.
The second assassin takes aim at Temeel over the table where all of them.
these people are eating and drinking and fires the crossbow 24 misses you they are going to
begin to ascend the stairs at the side of the bar moving up run away it's wrangle's turn wrangle
wrangle wrangle wrangle he swings his hook at you tamil that's a natural one shame on you
Shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame, shame.
Yeah, you're going in dice jail.
Yeah.
Then makes two sword attacks.
He's so, 19, misses, and then with a final heavy attack, 28 to hit.
Okay, that hits.
Oh, wow.
23 total slashing damage.
What is your hit points?
What are you?
I'm at 68.
All right.
So I'm now at 45.
When Tamil gets hit, she can conjure this wrath of the storm.
So basically, Wrangle's going to have to make a deck saving throw of DC 13.
Mm-hmm.
On a fail, he'll take half damage on a...
18.
So he just takes four extra lightning damage.
That's awesome.
Wim's turn.
She sees her companions all occupied.
She stands up from the table and holds her arms in the air.
She starts to conjure these lances, taking inspiration maybe from Timile's javelin.
She claps her hands together and then she's holding two of them, twinning the spell.
And she fires both of these psychic javelins across the room.
One of them at the assassin that's trying to escape up the stairs and one of them at Rangel himself.
They need to make intelligence saving through.
Oh, shit.
Idiots.
Yeah, not so much.
Both of them fail, taking 23 psychic damage.
Oh!
Lances hit their targets.
Holy shit.
Doran, it's your turn.
I'm going to attack at 12 hits?
No?
No.
No. Doran swings and misses, and then swings again with a 15.
Yes.
Hitting.
That does hit.
Nice.
Connects and doing 10 more points of damage to this.
Fabulous.
The assassin's day in front of it.
The assassin is.
spurting blood all over the table.
Another 15 to hit and doing another eight points of damage.
Doran, what does it look like when you kill this assassin?
Oh, nice.
Oh, you know what?
I don't know if I want to kill him or just put him unconscious.
You can always deal non-lethal damage.
I'm going to.
I feel like this is, again, maybe Doran looks over at Tamil and having met for the first time
doesn't feel like slaughtering a person in a bar.
So he says, listen, partner, you shouldn't have picked this fight and maybe you should learn to pick better friends.
And he takes the butt of his axe and he wax him right in the head.
Red, it's your turn.
Red fires at the head of the guy fighting Tamil with an 18?
Yes, that just hits.
26 damage.
Holy crap. Nice.
Red pulls back and fires again.
I'm not like Dorn, bud.
This one's going in your eye.
And that's going to be a 19.
hit? Yes.
30 damage.
What does it look like when you kill
Wrangell? I feel like Tamil
sees it. So Tamil is
holding up her shield. They're not
grappling, but they're in close
combat. She's got her javelin up. She's got her
shield up. And then all of a sudden she just
kind of feels a weight
like pressing down on her shield.
When she looks up,
she just realizes that there is this arrow sticking
straight through Rangel's neck.
She kind of shrugs him off.
He collapses to the floor.
She looks over at Red.
Red's already next to you.
He, like, had been walking over.
He's eating peanuts, just chewing.
He's like, he died funny.
Well struck.
Hey, I saw what you did.
Very well done.
Doran kind of joins the party and looks over a whim,
giving a thumbs up.
That was powerful stuff, Wim.
Whim gives you like an okey-dokey sign.
Coming from the back of the bar,
Are you here, Matild, yelling, no fighting.
No fighting.
Get out, all of you.
Out.
All right, I don't want a place that would let me in anyway.
Come on, Tamil.
Red throws his hand around Tamil, throws another one around Dorn,
and then sort of gets a pinky to whim and starts walking towards the door.
And he says, Tamil, I think this is going to be the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
Please don't touch me.
I think that
Tomeil drops a bag of emeralds on the table as they walk out
Totally fair
I'll get her in the end our end
All right
All right
All right
All right

Thanks again for watching and see you around the table.
When the sword comes in, it looks like it's going to hit her, but she holds up the shield, and underneath it, she shouts something clever, which I'm going to come up with right now.
Silver bulbs!
Go away.
I think...
Tamil Bow!
Yeah, she's like,
No!
She holds it up and she goes,
Absolutely not.
Yeah, it makes a one foot wide,
30 foot long shot.
That's 55 feet.
Oh, yeah, but here's the problem.
I could move here and it would work,
but then I don't get to stand on the piano.
So either just pretend the piano is here.
Yeah, we'll just pretend the piano's right there.
Listen, they can't see it.
I'm a stand on the piano and I make the shot
If you want me to stand
A couple pianos
I'm going to pretend that there's
That's a piano table
30 feet closer
Or 20 feet closer to them
Actually all of the furniture is piano
Yeah exactly
They have these little trays
Red's like staying on the
piano and it's too far
So like the stage hand comes out from the corner
and pushes the piano closer
Across the room
Thank you
Thank you
