Couldn't agree more with that.
You realize it's not just yours, right, Red.
Widdard, you feeling all right about this?
This has been the best meal I've ever had to prison.
Wow.
Get up, Wimmy!
I don't know how you can eat in the morning before a battle.
They don't think that you can do this.
We're going to win.
I think what I said got to her.
Oh, shit, Witted.
Yeah, put on this Viking helmet.
It's new.
Aren't we all together?
He's at our team.
Oh, no.
That shit.
What are you bringing pulls and arrow into a fighting ring?
After Red just, like, murked you.
What?
Welcome back to Day Shame.
This is Season 2, episode 164, spoiling for a fight.
MVP this week is Calibur from our Discord.
Calibur just wrote yesterday that they have three episodes left before they're caught up,
and they're addicted to the show in the best way podcast.
I hope this makes your day, Calibur. You are this week's MVP.
Congrats being this week's MVP and also deja vu.
All right. Should we play some D&D?
Yeah, let's do it.
Oh, ow!
The guards lead us through some, like, hallways that go deeper and deeper,
past the theater, like down into the dungeons.
past the prop room
and then we have
like some holding cells
there are three cells
between the five of us
we can either like split up
or it's like dealer's choice
how you want to accommodate yourself
I'm with Doran
yeah aren't we all together
can we push the cells together
it'll be like a sleepover
see you in the boarding door
and we spend a
Not so restful night in the bare accommodations of these cells.
But we all enjoy the benefits of a long rest.
Nice.
Necessity.
In the morning, like before there, the guards come even,
Tamil is up and she's like just checking in with everyone again.
Wait, did you feeling all right about this?
Red, Doran, do you need anything?
Why?
Yeah, I'm great.
Rolls over.
He's got like a fuzzy wump.
Just wake me up with the battle stats.
Witted has also woken up early, and when you call out to him, he just starts giggling.
He, he, he, he, I've been thinking about it.
Pretty much all night.
I've been doing the math.
I mean, a town is big as dead stows, the kind of creatures they could potentially import,
the kind of muscle they could bring to bear.
I just, I didn't, I didn't do it much.
But every now and then, I would go out in silvery mood to do a little bit of gambling
and a little bit of, I don't know.
just hitting the different places and seeing what you can do with statistics.
And I just feel like I could sniff it out.
She miscalculated.
We're going to win.
Whatever we meet, we're going to kick its ass.
You're fucking right we are.
I could agree more with that.
In fact, and Red sort of like clicks his claws on the metal bars to get the attention of the guard that's been there all night.
He's like, are we on?
1,000 gold on us, right?
Yeah.
A thousand gold?
Yeah, red put a thousand down.
Yeah.
Oh, my God.
You realize it's not just yours, right, Red.
What are the odds against us?
Common odds right now are three to one against.
I got a side bet, too.
If I pin a guy in full cover, I get seven to one odds.
A cold shot.
Yeah, a cold shot.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
The guard also brings continental breakfast by for you guys.
Your order, your bacon sandwiches.
Don't eat it.
As a guard comes to the door of the cell,
Doran is sitting, like, at the back, sort of like in the shadows.
As he sharpens his axe, you hear the shing, and he looks up at the garden, he says,
Pork splitters, tickling laughter.
And he says, you know, I can't wait to spill all the leaders of blood all over the floor of that, of that fighting ring.
This is going to be delicious.
And he looks up at the guard with bloodlust eyes, you know.
He really needed this.
This is all part of like an intimidation.
But then he also turns to his friends and very sincerely, he says,
you know, I'm not just doing this for us.
The people of this town, they need to know that they can stand up against that,
that wicked, wicked witch of the dead snows, that Carilla Jemsnar.
Whatever her name is.
Hey, hey, you're right.
We'll whip the crowd up.
Don't worry, Doran.
You'll get your blood, and we'll put on a show for all of them.
Yeah, so the guards bring you guys some breakfast.
What is it?
Don't eat it.
Red eats his own jerky.
I mean, it's, we got hash browns, sandwiches, some fruit.
I mean, oatmeal.
Well, well, well, this has been the best meal I've ever had to prison.
Wow.
I don't know how you can eat it the morning before a battle.
Dorn's not like, now he's doing stretches.
Is Witted eating the food?
Wittitt is eating the food.
He's like, Dad, it's pretty.
Impressive. Who do I? That, goddously, seriously, this is a very impressive prison fair.
It's like watching you be like, come on, man. Do you don't know what's going on here?
Here, and Red Hands the Jerky to Tamil. Don't eat the food. Wim's like holding a sandwich like with her mouth open.
No. Don't do it. And she's like about to take a bite. Red slaps it away. Why that?
What do I mean, why not? Come on. She signs, I'm hungry.
Eat this. Red Hands the Jerky.
Witted is waving this kind of like hash brown that I imagine and
his little hand is kind of flopping around more than it should kind of and like pieces are
flaking off and he's like you're telling me that this person likes you dislikes you so much
that they would exile you and then poisoned your food just before you go out into the arena
to entertain all these people yeah i don't actually understand how but she hates you and he
looks at the hash brown again i really want this hash bra you know the fact that we're sitting
in jail cells right now kind of you know that that in itself is sort of like you know
All they have to do is lock the doors and walk away.
That was my assumption.
Brad just looks at Tamio.
Carilla knows that she cannot stop us if we really set our mind to something.
She just doesn't have the force for it.
So I believe that she would do whatever she can to take any kind of advantage.
That's true.
To be on the safe side, fair.
With his goggles drop down and zoom in on the hash brown and he's like,
I mean, how
how poison do you think it could be?
A hundred?
100%.
I really Doran's giving you the look like,
just do it.
Just eat it.
Just go for it.
He's really going back and forth.
He says it is the best
prison food I've ever seen.
And like with the goggles,
zooms back out, shakes his head, puts it down,
pushes the plate.
away kind of nods oh man iron will timidable hand witted the jerky that red gave her you can
notch on this now i feel hungry literally feel hungry i really want this breakfast to meet him
i know right sounds good hash brown hey just stick with your own food so everyone eats a sad
breakfast of just cold jerky it'll keep us alive listen hey if i was carilla gem star i would
poison us 100%.
And that's all the justification I need to not touch
that food. Whim signs,
I guess you were the assassin.
And this isn't my first fighting
ring either. Whim signs, really?
Oh yeah. Back in Mazdica,
this was just a rite of passage.
I'm talking about more than
town-wide, we're talking about hundreds
of thousands of people in the crowd.
The rules were different. It wasn't one-on-one.
It was more natural
sort of animals of the area, you know?
I don't know any of the names
but one looked like a rhino
Wim signs so what's the strategy
strategy is
don't die and don't eat the food
She was like about to take another bite
And then she puts it back to you
Last time you were in town
You didn't stop eating
I remember you read that disgusting stew
And didn't you eat something from
Camilla Jumsener
Just in her room
There was some chocolate or something
Wasn't there a chocolate baby
That was a very different situation
Both of those
no one was trying to stop me from completing my task.
I think what I said got to her.
I think that she knows that even if she wants to execute us,
if we win the love of this crowd,
it's going to be a lot harder to get us away from there before killing us.
I think she's hoping we fail,
and she knows to meal well enough that she wouldn't willingly go into there
if she couldn't kick some serious ass.
I think if it's not just this food,
we better keep an eye out for other ways these people might be slowing us down.
Remember when that other guy in the fighting ring poisoned?
had poison on his dagger and he stabbed one of the other people oh yeah that was the first time
we're here we just gotta be careful is all i'm saying and jockey is damn good i can't even eat mine i'm so
uh i'm so excited i just realized that this is the first time that we will be we'll be fighting in this
kind of combat i mean we have fought beasts and monsters and things like that but we didn't
really get a fight in iron slag and no i don't know not feeling particularly bloods
thirsty, but I must admit
it feels exciting to think
about a real fight.
Yeah, yeah, a fight
between warriors
and not just
killers and, and
put it this way.
This is, this is, this is,
this is gonna be great.
This is for sport, you know.
Not like out there when we,
when we're looking at a,
oh shit, I just remember, we got
a whole ton of giants, we gotta deal with too.
One thing at a time,
This should be fun, is all I'm saying.
Indeed, and Red is right, though.
There are no holds barred here, and so we must be on our games.
Everyone, pay attention, look after each other.
I must say I cannot think of a better group to go into this particular kind of situation with.
Oh, right there with you, Temeel.
Thanks, Temeel.
Joe, would you let that be a use of my inspiring leader?
100%.
Cool. Everybody gets 14-10 HP.
Nice.
14-10 HP.
And that does not stack.
with our prior.
Oh.
What's the fucking point then?
Fuck.
Fuck.
You kind of like turn and see that Witted has visibly changed parts of the suit.
You see that Bessie has now like, as you see like the arms are slightly bigger,
they're like slightly more built in different ways.
Like weapons have been, not so much added, but changed out a little bit.
And it's definitely gone into more of a combat mode kind of.
You see, like, as you finish up what you're saying,
what Tamil is saying,
when it's, like, the helmet slams down.
And it's very, like, iron giant when he's angry.
And from out of there, with the voice that his suit used to use
when he first met us before he kind of tuned it down,
Bessie says,
damn waste of a breakfast is what it is.
Nice.
And with that, you are summoned to Al-Hamor.
Freed from yourselves, but with an accompanying retinue of guards,
you are brought through some subterranean tunnels.
And you can tell that you are nearing this arena by the sound
and feel the vibrations through the earth of the crowd above you.
The sound of the crowd gets louder and louder.
And then you are here standing in front of a lowered portculeous.
You look out through an opening into the ground floor of this Coliseum.
The day is cloudy and gray, and the crowd is raucous.
There is a raw energy in the air, and you smell sugared meat.
on the air as vendors are hawking their, like, game night food to everybody in the crowd.
Gandy liver, get your candy liver here.
Halapeno Papa's here.
Cheese.
Shees.
Bucats of cheese.
Buckets of cheese.
Chicken leg, chicken leg.
The Coliseum, it's such.
is a huge circular arena and there are these ancient pieces of ruins that kind of provide
points of interest across this wide sandy floor. The arena is ringed by bleachers that are
separate from the fighting area by virtue of them being like 40 feet in the air essentially.
So you are like in a bowl.
You hear a magically enhanced voice address the crowd
and recognize Carilla's strident announcer cadence.
Welcome, ladies and gentlemen,
to another fantastic day at Alamoire.
I am so glad that you have come to join us today.
We have a fantastic show.
I can't.
Wait to see what happens, and I know that all of you are so excited to be here with me.
Please welcome to the ring.
Five miscreants.
These criminals have made their way into dead snows unannounced, unwelcome, and are here to play for their lives.
And it's not pretty easy for them.
Oh, no, we have a fantastic line.
for you today, please welcome
Reds Rovers.
And the gate opens
to allow you into
the Coliseum.
Wow. Everybody roll for initiative.
Nice.
Da-da-da-da-da-da-da.
Whim rolled
a ten.
Witted, what did you get?
I get advantage
because
His helmet of awareness, aka his targeting computer, is already, like, booting up, scanning,
creating like a 3D map in his head almost, which right now he's not paying attention
at all.
He's just at the console, as it were, tweaking and tuning things, like completely oblivious,
but he keeps looking up every now and then and gets the 16 instead of the natural one
that he would have gotten without that advantage.
So natural one is what Witted got, but luckily his computer,
is like saying like we know no enemies at the moment spotted i will let you know when we have
targets on the field i'm looking for targets looking for targets uh with a 16 i'm on initiative
and like the moment there's enemies i'll just be like ready to go cool let's go absolutely phenomenal
dorin what did you get a an unnatural 20 so yeah well done i hope i i lead the way out
22
Wow
Nice
I think Nick has me beat
Based on the smile
Tamil
I rolled a 19 on the die
For a 24
Hell
Yeah
We're gonna win
Fitting
Fitting
Oh man
I hate that
Because I put
Doran up at the top
And then I put red
Just above him
In tiny tiny letters
And now you got to rewrite it
So, with that initiative roll out of the way, so far there are no enemies in the arena apart from the five of you.
Well, Doran is certainly playing the crowd.
And he's as soon as the announcer says Red's rover, I can see Doran, you know, arms up in the air, acts in the air, you know, lifting his arms for the crowd to go wild and walking in circles kind of looking at everybody.
no you guys are a heel you hear a couple people going boo yeah very good very good so then
doran he turns and moons those people is your bump blushing no no white and pale and hairy
not nervous here understood okay let's do this and he like kind of like you know he's he's pumping himself
up and looking at his companions he's just kind of like you can see it in his eyes he's he's he's bloodth
This is, this is good.
Yeah, Wim strides forward into the arena.
She's almost like crackling with energy.
Her arms down by her sides, but held at the ready.
And she's casting around.
There's fear in her eyes, but she looks like she is excited.
Red heads to one of the structures in the center.
How tall is it?
It's about 20 feet tall.
There's like a threshold of a stone door that's flanked by some rubble as well as some columns that have fallen down and some like large chunks of rock as well.
Yeah. Red scales the structure, stands on top and ready's an action for the first villain that enters.
What is the ready action?
He will shoot the fucker with an arrow.
Fantastic.
a witted is like not playing the crowd up at all or anything just calmly first of all reaches down suit like helmet lowered and everything but the arms of the suit lower down and you see them moving their hands in a little bit of spell casting place like two fingers on each like heel and ruins light up on his boots of his armor and he moves a little bit faster he's casting long strider on himself and then just stay as he's standing up from that
The suit then starts to move its arms and make this complex motion.
And suddenly it shimmers and splits in three different directions with one at the center.
He's casting a mirror image as well, neither one of which is concentration.
Fuck.
That's so cool.
So there's three widdids on the battlefield?
I think four widdids in all.
One kind of seems to be in the middle, but that's also not clear that that's the real one,
because that one also keeps moving and trading places with, like, the other three as they step in and then step out of the center.
Red watching this is just like, holy shit, and he's got the biggest grin on his face.
He's like, fuck yeah.
Tamil will walk through the poor Cullis last, and she's going to head directly over to Wim and paying no attention to the crowd, paying no attention to Carrilla.
She'll just kind of lean into Wim and she'll say, listen, if things get out of hand,
if things start to get a little scary,
there's no shame in just
casting invisibility on yourself and being safe.
Wim signs,
thank you, but I think I'm ready for this.
I think you are too.
Good luck, kidder.
And then she'll start moving towards the center near red.
Wim just gives you like a quick side hug
and like then takes off in a direction
just sort of an angle to where you're headed.
As Doran pulls up his pants
from mooning the booing crowd,
a small, smooth rock falls to the ground.
And Doren realizes, oh my gosh, it's fallen out of his pockets,
the Iowan stone of strength.
So he decides, hey, why not?
This is the moment.
And what this, I don't know, I'll remind you all and the listeners and myself,
what this does.
And that basically, I mean, other than having the stone increasing my strength by two,
when I can use an action
and I toss a stone into the air
and it orbits my head at a distance of 1D3 feet.
Cool.
I mean, it's a, yeah.
It's a fucking cool thing to watch Doran do
to get ready for a fight
is to like launch this projectile
into the air that like orbits you
and gives you strength.
That's sick as fuck.
With a creek and grinding.
of stone on stone,
the two portcullises
at the north and south of the arena
were to raise,
and through the shadowy darkness,
figures begin to pour out
and run towards you.
And red looses an arrow.
Well, here's the question.
Which target would you like?
Twelve of them, huh?
Twelve.
Oh, shit.
12 goblins
heavily armed
begin to run towards you
red you have a ready to action
yep
do any of them look like a leader
or do any of them look particularly heavily fortified
they're all similarly equipped with like
scimitars and bows and
like standard type gear leather armor
excellent I will attack the one to the north
furthest to the left in the first row
it's going to be 17 to hit
You do. Nice.
That's going to be, it's going to be 22 damage.
Fantastic. You hit and you kill it. Holy shit.
For his second action, he'll attack the one next to it.
18 to hit? You do.
Wow.
24 damage.
Yeah, it tumbles through the dust as it is skewered by your arrow.
And just to be clear, for those curious, because I know the mechanics, we haven't done it in a while,
I have natural explorer
which gives me advantage on attack
for creatures that have not yet acted
so I rolled advantage on both of those
Oh hell yeah
Next up, Tamil
Timil will kind of watch this
unsurprised but deeply impressed
The martial prowess of red and his bow
And she feels like he's got
The northern contingent of goblins
You know relatively handled
So she'll turn her attention
To the southern contingent
They're in those
They're kind of like two by three formation.
That's right.
So Tamele looks to the goblins at the southern end of the arena,
and she kind of steps forward.
She starts to speak.
Before you've seen this, she's whispered,
but you see again that kind of black fog, black smoke,
start to come out of her mouth and flow to the ground
and then start racing along the ground towards these goblins.
I'm going to be targeting all six of them by up,
Bain.
Oh.
What you hear is her saying,
they don't think that you can do this.
They were right.
Whatever it is that you think you've convinced them of,
they are not fooled.
They all know your secret.
No one respects your abilities.
Just these like seeds of doubt that she's trying to throw into
and sew into these goblin's minds.
So, charisma save, DC-16.
Psychic combat.
She's basically instilling insecurity and doubt or trying to in these goblins.
Brilliant.
Love it.
I just rolled two natural 20s.
Oh, no.
Shame.
I was going to roll one dice for each set of goblins if that's okay with you,
or else I can roll for each individual goblin.
You can do two.
If you are doing two and you have two natural 20s,
well, silvery barb is one of them.
Oh, nice.
Fantastic.
You roll again and it's disadvantaged, basically.
Yep.
15.
Ooh.
So three of them pass, three of them fail.
So three of them are currently bained.
Okay.
Bain.
Red looks over his shoulder at this like mist and he's just like, nice to me.
Everyone is insecure about something.
And just as a reminder, whenever any of the ones that failed makes an attack roll or a saving
throw, they have to subtract 1D4.
Understood.
Nice.
Okay.
They're like, do I look fat in this, Zog?
Yeah, yeah.
No, I look fat in this.
Everyone thinks you look fat in that.
So these goblins that are beginning to move into the southern side of the arena,
start to like kind of look back and forth between each other.
A look of doubt crosses their eyes.
And they almost like stop moving forward in like fear as your spell takes hold.
Meanwhile, the rear platoon continues to move into position.
Red, it is now your turn in combat.
Red will shoot at the one to the north,
the one in the front line that still hasn't had to get.
12 to hit?
No, you miss.
Cool.
And then he'll shoot that one again.
Natural 20.
Nice.
Say so.
Which means I roll my damage dice twice.
I don't think it'll matter.
Yeah, not that you need to.
30 damage.
Yeah, I should say, what does it look like?
when you overkill this goblin.
His other two friends have fallen as he's still running.
This arrow sings across the 60 feet between us.
It plows deeply into the forehead of this goblin,
like herking him back and he falls in a cloud of dust
as the other three goblins don't break stride
and run over his body like hungry for flesh.
And Red just knocks another arrow.
Fantastic.
All right.
Witted, you are up.
Witted on his turn from behind Wim over here having turned to the goblins coming from the south
and he like pats her on the shoulder with the suit as he's then lifting up off the ground above her
and wom wom wom wom wom going very iron man already aiming his arm cannon
this is like his main arm cannon his main gun that he sort of starts charging up
it's crackling with energy and instead of launching anything instead the air
area around the center of where those six goblins are all clustered begins to almost crackle and their hair and their clothing is all sparking and stuff and starting to raise up with static electricity around them they're even starting to like almost hover off the ground and as he kind of shouts out thanks to be able good alley up here uh there's just this boom as this sonic boom goes off and totally blasts the area where the six goblins
are all clustered. It's going to hit every single one of them just barely in this sort of contained
like boom that goes off right there amidst the goblins. This is Shatter for 3D8 damage.
Phenomenal. Wow. The goblins have to make a constitution saving throw and the goblins who
have Bain, correct me if I'm wrong, get minus 1D4 to their saving throws as well as their attack rolls.
Hell yeah. So thank you, Temeel, for that.
Because you want to roll that D4 for me to Meal?
Sure, yeah.
So it's 15 for the front line that are bained, which will be subtracting whatever you roll.
And the back line roll a six.
Nice.
I rolled a three.
Is that for all of them?
Yep.
So we're doing 12 and 6 for our saves.
Fuck yes.
The number is 17 for his spell save D.
Oh, I should say not.
I should say not.
Absolutely.
And damage-wise, they're going to take 15 thunder damage.
Hell yeah.
Okay.
Way to go.
That's brilliant.
Hope that was helpful.
I maybe should have upcast it, but we'll see.
I didn't want to go overkill and burn up spell slots.
And he continues to pull further up into the air, Iron Man style, and do another 15-foot
move towards this, like, I think just kind of center.
So, yeah, yeah, hovering above a, uh, um,
red. Perfect.
As this sonic boom hits the group of the half dozen
goblins, this cloud of dust just kicks up
into the air with a shockwave that just blasts
out from the radius of the attack. And as the dust clears,
the back line of goblins just isn't there
anymore.
Let's go. The middle goblin of the front
line, like, had to take a knee, and he, like, stands up and wipe blood away from his nose
where, like, both nostrils began to bleed.
That's wicked.
Absolutely.
Wicked Witted.
Wicked Witted. Witted. Witted's just, like, charging that gun up again, like, okay, no,
and then starts, like, depower it, like, there's not that many of them left and starts getting
other guns ready.
From the force of the blast wave, Temeel's hair kind of gets blown back, and she, like, turns
around wide eyes, huge
grin on her face, just giving you the
hugest thumbs up.
Holy shit, wait it did.
The helmet flips up and he gives you this
excited nod. You can tell
he never gets to use that gun at full
power, as it were. Maybe a thunder wave
here and there, but that's the Sonic
Canon at full blast.
Hell, yes.
It's no. It's so excited.
And he sticks his tongue out.
Helmet slammed down. He's
Not that, though.
All right, Doran.
So Doran paces, not runs, toward the goblins that are coming in from the north.
Breathing slow and deep.
Not concerned about the three that Red is already slaughtered,
but he's thinking forward of what is yet to come.
Doran doesn't believe that this is all that Camilla has planned for them.
12 goblins.
So Doran basically walks his entire distance and stands waiting for someone.
to come into his range.
You're going to hold your action?
Yeah, I'm going to hold my action in for ready it.
Cool.
So like what's the algorithm?
If this, then this.
So basically already, already in attacks
so that when they come in close to me,
I'll use my attacks then.
Fantastic.
Love that.
Goblin turns.
Doran, in response to seeing you stalk out
from around the side of some rubble,
the three goblins to the north
all stride towards you in concert
and pull out their short bows.
They aim at you together and fire.
All right.
What do they do?
Each of them firing off two arrows towards you.
That shit.
What are you bringing pulls an arrow into a fighting ring?
Back at red.
What?
The red just like murked you.
Yeah, yeah.
I rolled two twos, a four, a 17, a 21, and then lower than 21.
Well, I have a 21, and the attack wins, right?
That's correct.
Six arrows slide through the air towards you, and you duck, dodge, deflect, and most of them.
There's like this matrix scene.
One of them finds its way into like a crack in your armor and hits you from.
for seven damage.
Oh, that's smarts.
And then the goblins move to behind some cover,
and each of them are going to take the hide action.
Cowards.
Yeah, well, that's goblins for you.
Goblins gonna gobble.
Not great in terms of stealth,
surprising nobody, considering you all know that they are there.
But if you want to target them in order to hit them
from where you're at.
You're going to have to, like, perceive them first.
Oh, they've got arrows too, red.
Yeah.
Then a terrible roar emits from the bowels of the Coliseum,
and from the darkness, hulking shapes emerge.
These large beasts with white fur emerge.
from the north side
and the south side of the arena
and they charge you.
Tamil and Doran
take the brunt of this attack
as quadrupedal,
very shaggy.
They look almost like
Simeon in a way.
Gotcha.
Weird.
Yiddies!
Pretty much, yeah.
Doren, the northern
Yeti.
charges up to you running on all four of its hairy white limbs and gets right up in your space.
So I'm using my attack.
Absolutely.
I've had it redid.
The creature runs up in my face and Doran tries to hit it with a 15.
You hit.
Oh, no way.
They're not wearing like plate armor.
It's just yety fur.
That's going to do 16 damage.
sick
and then he's going to wind back up
and come back around
with a 25 to hit
for how much damage
eight
six
eight more points of damage
phenomenal
I don't suppose it would be
very fair of me
to also then use a reaction
why not
you know like I have a ready action
but then there's brace
when he moves in my space
you get one reaction
per round of combat
and you can use that
whenever it is triggered.
So you have an enemy moving into your space.
You can absolutely do it.
Perfect.
When a creature you can see moves into the reach you have
with the melee weapon you're wielding,
you can use your reaction to expend one superiority die
and make one attack against the creature using that weapon.
Do it, man.
So that's going to be a 26 to hit.
Nice.
Doing 13 more damage.
Yeah.
Nice.
Yeah.
And Doran says as he slashes.
just through the fur watching, you know, getting excited by the color of the blood staining the white
fur, he's all of a sudden, like, again, you see his eyes, like, bubbling up with the color of
blood.
That's my Doran!
He's back, guys!
He's back!
Does it feel like we're working some shit out?
Does everybody feel like we're obviously?
No, he's always been like this.
I think he's really struggled to be his true self around you, too, because he didn't want to
scare you away.
My big bear.
Doher's also looking pretty iconic right now.
I feel like he looks like the cover like
an old player's handbook with like
the classic dwarf in an
arena fighting some
kind of ape creature that we
haven't quite identified like that's
iconic that's some real
OG stuff. Hey put on this Viking
helmet. Yeah. We're on the front
line too like this far and no
farther that's where he shines
in response
to all of these attacks
from Ork Splitter
wielded by Doran Iron Fist
this huge white monster like rears back on his hind legs roars and then swipes down at you with
its claws a dirty 20 to hit it misses in fact nice maybe he even connects with my armor
yeah rebuffed mm-hmm and then a 17 to hit you nope and that misses as well also misses
and then as it like heavily comes back down onto
to four legs, it gives you this withering stare.
Hmm.
Yes, I need you to make a Constitution saving throw.
All of a sudden, like, burn?
It's lips curl back over its sharp teeth,
and it, like, breathes out heavily,
and you smell the rotted stink of its breath.
It's been eating meat for years.
That's just, like, between its teeth,
and the way that it looks at you,
Just, it's like trying to intimidate you almost in this like animalistic way.
A constitution saving throw, please.
Okay.
Years of red has softened you up for this.
You're ready.
I have a smelt Red's breath every morning.
Plus eight constitution for a constitution saving throw.
So that's going to be.
You're pretty constituting.
I ruled a three.
Use lucky.
Use lucky.
Okay, I will use it.
I don't know the outcome yet.
That's the one caveat.
So, okay.
Oh, and that's a natural 20.
Hey!
Hey!
Let's go.
Well used.
So this abominable monster stares you dead in the face.
And your response is,
I think you need a toothbrush.
Let me help you out.
And Doran just in preparation for his next round winds up the axe.
The monster to the south begins its end.
into the arena, and it just bowls over the goblins that are in its way.
It actually tramples one of them to death as it moves forward to attack Tamil.
He's at our team. Oh, no. Tamil, as it's on its way to you, it gives you the twin glare that was
being given to Doran in the northern side of the arena. Just animal hatred.
And I need you to make a Constitution saving throw for me, please.
I'm going to use my heroic inspiration to roll.
Okay, that is a 21.
Nice.
Thank God.
It was going to be a 10.
And with that, it continues its charge toward you and makes two claw attacks at you.
The first is a 14 to hit
Doesn't hit
Second is a 17 to hit you
Doesn't hit
Nice
All right
You are staring down
The scary, smelly face
Of this
Yeti
And with that
It is Wim's turn
Oh Wim
Whimim
Wim
Get up Wimim
She reaches down to the ground
And picks up a handful of sand
From the arena floor
And she throws it up
up into the air. And above her head, this cloud of sand begins to coalesce into these orbiting
bodies. Six of them begin to just swirl around her head. And she takes a ready to stance.
Oh, nice. After that, she moves to take cover beneath the threshold atop which red is standing,
kind of near to where Witted is hovering as well.
So she's like got her back up against this pillar.
Final turn, we have the rest of the living goblins.
Both of the goblins like look at each other sort of like, ooh.
And try to get out of the way of this charging creature.
So they run over to behind these like this rock in the eastern, south-eastern side of the Colosseum.
and then they sort of like pop out and try to take some pot shots at Tamil.
So the highest of these is the 14 of all of the arrows,
thoroughly shaken by what's just happened to them.
All of the shots fly wide.
I think Tamil is just, she bashed away with her shield,
the attacks of the Yeti,
and then she's just kind of lifting up the shield to protect her from these incoming arrows,
which just bounce off.
Yeah.
Yeah, it feels like the strength of these projectiles is so lessened from the bane or the hex that you've given them that you're almost able to, like, see them coming.
Like, they're moving more slowly through the air.
Fuck physics.
And with that, we are back at the top of the order.
Okay, now I'd just like to thank our dear Patreon supporters.

I have this all written down because I would
never be able to remember some of these
names. Have a great
one and see you around the battlefield.
Hold on, give me one second
to just double check which version of goblins.
Oh, they're just wave one. I was going to
say we got to keep tempo here.
But I feel bad. Like, they
have to come now. They
They've just watched this happen.
Oh, yeah.
They have to continue trying to fight.
Monsters, um, do-be-do are going to chase you.
Sorry, keep going.
Just on a meta note, you know, I have this vision of this, like, beast, like, attacking me and then, like, stopping and staring.
And it gave me the creepiest vibe.
I don't know why.
I'm like, I don't know why my imagination.
is scaring me but that vision was like watching this beast go ah
