Seems the dwarves are not very stealthy rate.
Maybe we call it Plan B.
I like your original idea.
That's an interesting question.
Ooh, cool claw.
Look, maybe if all this goes sideways, I can cast it.
Not terribly large.
How very kind.
If needed, I can escape.
Ah, I see.
Just observing you guys.
Pinser movement.
As entertaining as that would be...
You guys have killed giants before, right?
I've never killed a giant before.
Oh, damn.
With it, though, you've killed, what?
10, 20?
These particular breed, no not necessarily.
We...
30 giants.
Welcome back to Dice Shame.
This is Season 2, Episode 179, opening Salvo.
MVP this week is Crafty Plans, who started listening and said that we helped them get over their fear of DMing.
Thanks to Joe for being their inspiration.
Ah, we're so glad you liked it, Sid.
You're this week's MVP.
All right, should we play some D&D?
Yeah, let's do it.
Woo!
We make our way forward stealthily
through this damaged landscape.
Making for a ridge
beyond which Chaos Hammer promises us
the Von and Dodd has at least, as of late,
been mired in deep mud.
I want everybody to make a stealth check, please.
You cold-hearted.
You son of a bitch.
Everybody had 10.
Oh!
Wim-citted.
37.
Oh, wow.
35 for Temeel who also did crit.
Wow.
Hell yeah.
36 for Red who just rolled well.
Wow.
Okay, well.
It's not a contest, darling, except I lost it.
Ooh.
All right.
Chaos Hammer.
rolled only 18 with passes without a trace.
It's that plate, right?
Clang, clang.
So this is a rare instance,
aka Tim remembered this ability
that Witted has that
he should have been using quite a few
occasions earlier I can think of.
But Wittitton only got a 16
and realizing that he's just kind of
floating along like a big honking suit
of armor and thinking, oh, I
should have got it to stealth
protocols, but it's a little late for that now.
I'd probably get indeed full shields anyway.
And you see him kind of start realizing he's too exposed.
He suddenly sees that there are trees around us.
Is that right?
There are some.
It's not like full forest.
It was until late.
So there are some downed trees.
Yeah.
So there's some like debris.
and rocks and stuff more so than like full trees with foliage and all that crap.
We did with a 16 on stealth is going to activate his flash of genius ability.
He is going to give himself as a reaction.
He can do this a couple of times per day, but he's going to give himself as a reaction.
A bonus to his check equal to his intelligence bonus, which is plus five.
So that'll bump it up to a 21.
What I'm imagining here is he freezes like,
any further and I'm going to completely blow this mission.
And you see him sort of only within his visor from his perspective.
He sees these trees and they suddenly become highlighted and blue by his like visor and the helm of
awareness that's activating.
And you see this almost path start being triangulated by his suit.
And it is like telling him like go behind this tree, then go behind this fall and log over here.
And then this tree.
And like that's the optimal way.
to avoid notice approaching from that direction, kind of,
to get them up to a 21 on stealth.
A 21.
I like to think that there's like a button that says flash of genius,
but it's just been covered by like post-it notes for whim or what it has been taking
down.
Right.
I forgot I'm a genius.
Wait a minute.
I'm a genius.
I can figure this out somehow.
I love that.
That was easy.
That's what it says.
Like really old sticky notes that have like keys you've memorized,
control Z.
and whatnot.
We did open to drawer.
There's actually a couple of things in here, I forgot.
He says, he's looking around his class abilities.
I'm always looking at my spell list, I realize, never my class abilities.
A box of matches from a wedding 12 years ago.
Yeah.
No.
Yes.
Doran rolled just as badly, if not worse, than Chaos Hammer at the 17.
Oof.
Seems the dwarves are not very stealthy right now.
The six of us creep forward through this broken landscape and we make our way to the lip, the rim of this valley, and we look out on the desolation.
Despite being coated in a layer of dried mud from nearly its shoulders down, the colossal war machine still.
maintains its aura of power. It's currently buried in mud up to its calves, seemingly insignificant,
until you consider its 80-foot stature. There may be some 15 or 20 feet of mud still encasing
its feet. Standing in the mudslide wrecked valley around the Von and Dodd, three hairy-looking
fire giants are standing at loose attention. Their eyes.
scanning the broken landscape around them.
Witted, right as you think he's going to say something very profound and epic, just goes,
well, hello, beautiful.
As you crouch in the spring mud and gaze down into the valley where the three fire giants
stand in loose formation around the Von and Dodd, a plan begins to take shape.
All right, what the hell are we going to do?
I mean, we got this, right?
This is easy stuff.
We've killed plenty of these before.
Well, we've never...
You guys have killed giants before, right?
I've never killed a giant before.
Oh, damn.
Witted, though, you've killed, what?
10, 20, 30 giants?
These particular breed, no, not necessarily.
We kind of stuck our way through iron slag.
So, and Wittittitz just lost in his gaze upon the Vonen died.
It's clear he's not really following this strategic discussion.
He's just eyes locked, zooming in constantly on his goggles as this beautiful creation.
Even though it's like coated in dried mud from however long it's been stuck here in this valley,
there is an aura of power just like rolling off of this ancient machine.
Yeah.
Doran's like totally soaking it up as well.
And sort of with Witted, we're kind of staring off.
And that's when he sort of turns to red and it's like, whoa, whoa, let's just, let's just sit here and catch our, catch ourselves for a minute, eh?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Is Wittid doing what Tim is doing, which is excitedly kind of like shifting back and forth?
Yes, very much so.
100%.
Inside his suit of armor, which isn't moving, he's like rocking back and forth.
His goggles are continually like they won't stop extending further, like more and more lenses keep getting added.
It's also becoming weirdly obvious just from having been around Bessie so long.
It's that the suit of armor that he's wearing, Bessie, is clearly modeled off of pieces of the Vonen Dodd.
Like, it's clearly the whole time he's been building Bessie looking at ancient like pieces, like diagrams and scrolls of like little bits and pieces of the Vonandad that pass down into libraries and stuff.
Oh, that's cool.
In creating Bessie, it's clear he followed a certain ideal that he was reaching for.
Wow.
As dawn breaks over the edges of the mountain, they're like these rays of sunlight being cast out into the valley.
And because the Von and Don is so tall, it's hitting the top of this colossus first.
And as the sun just starts to like reveal the top of this massive monster, you see.
see this insane glint of red light being reflected out around the valley.
And exactly as Tim says, Bessie's red eyes are so reminiscent of the twin rubies that are used as the Von and Dodd's eyes.
Wow.
How wonderful.
We got a mini one right here.
It's the very red lenses that were the first thing we saw when he came out of the woods.
That first moment was de-terrifying red lenses.
And it's like, why would you have those?
It's clear, yeah.
Tamil is noting Widdid's excitement or whatever it is, the kind of like increased energy
and remembering conversations with Red about, you know, what are we going to do?
Is like, can we trust Witted and realizing that this is like, this is the moment to make the decision.
And also that if anyone has a chance of actually getting into and taking control of the Von and Dot,
It is Witted.
She'll kind of close her eyes for a second.
She'll take a deep breath and then she'll say,
All right, one thing that we could do is
Red and I are somewhat stealthy.
We could go create a distraction,
try to draw the giants away from the Vonendod
and Witted Doran,
you two could go try to break into it.
Hmm.
Or if you prefer something more shenanagony,
I can make Witted bigger
since he looks so much like the Von and Dodd
and if Wim, I don't know,
can you enlarge things as well?
Maybe we can make...
She shakes her head.
Ah, damn.
As entertaining as that would be,
I like your original idea.
I would rather be invisible
than large if I had the option.
Chaos Hammer, you fought here before.
You said your group were taking these down.
With these all the giants that you spotted originally
or how their numbers dwindled?
Oh, good question, Reyes.
No, no, there are many fire giants in these woods.
We were able to kill a couple of them over the past 10 days,
but there should be more.
This is my consent.
Yeah.
I think if we cause a distraction, it's very likely that we would only be drawing more giants towards us.
I hear you, Tamil, and I think it still could be a play,
but realistically, we fought giants before, Dorn and I,
and the first thing is we cannot have them in numbers one at a time.
I think the simplest, cleanest way to do this would be to disable two of these guys,
whether through some sort of hypnosis or me banishing them,
while we focus fire down on one.
The very least, that only gives two players on the field afterwards.
Then, trying to tackle them one at a time, before any giants can even return here.
Do you think we could do that, Red?
Disabled two of them?
and had leaves enough time to take down the third.
I don't know.
Well, I'm trying to remember how much Whittedd you.
Have you used hypnotic pattern?
Whittitton has demonstrated it before.
I feel like right as you are suggesting this and going back and forth, Doran,
Witton, Witton just steps forward in the suit, delight in his eyes, the helmet slams,
and the gauntlet opens up showing that,
scintillating light orb that he can lob out that just sort of like makes people stare at it hypnotically.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. How big is the radius on that thing?
That terribly large is sort of a 15-foot radius area projecting outward from the center of the orb, as it were.
All right.
Wim signs and remember the frost salamander. I can charm a monster.
Right. And then if either of those fail, I can also banish for one round with the arrow like I did with that creature that was coming down on Dorn in the Coliseum.
Of course, I will defer to your greater experience with fighting giants, but I have to ask, how many giants could the Vonendard take out?
That's an interesting question.
It is indeed.
Here's my concern.
In my mind, and correct me if I'm wrong,
but there are so many variables,
even if when it gets in there,
even if he manages to get to the controls,
is there any guarantee that he could even function it?
No.
Like, for all we know, they have a big padlock on the thing to fire.
And that's not to say,
if there was a way to find out,
to find out if getting them meant we could turn it against them,
then I 100% support your plan.
The problem is I know we can kill giants.
What I don't know is if we can make the Von and Dodd kill giants.
All right.
But I do agree.
I do think that's definitely the more powerful option.
I mean, maybe it's worth scouting.
Maybe it's worth sending little Reggie in to the Von and Dod.
I mean, I don't know.
I don't know.
Gaining control, that thing still scares me.
And he sort of looks around darting his eyes between Timiel, witted, and red.
Chaoshammer kind of gives you a sideways look.
Yeah, no, I don't know
What we're gonna do once we actually
Get control of it
And Doran sort of gives him
A quick
Garting glance and then
Looks back to the
Vaughan and Dodd
Look, maybe we call it
Plan B
If we start attacking these things and it goes to shit
Maybe Woody just makes a mad dash inside
Hey, better to have control of it than them
That's what I say
We could all agree on that, certainly
And meta, I'm not against it.
I really don't know.
I mean, if there were roles that Witted could do to know how much he'd be able to work it,
I'm not against Timuels' plan at all.
I think it's a great plan.
Let's fight these giants.
Now, I know you were saying to not cause any distractions, Harlan,
but I was thinking, like Doran's sitting here thinking,
if we were to draw one out to come and kind of like,
investigate what might be going on over this way, then we could technically just fight one-on-one
over off to the side if we managed to put a cone of silence on them or something?
I'm not against that.
My understanding was to have a distraction large enough to bring the three giants around
the Von and Dodd away so that we could get up, power it up, and start it moving before they
can kind of come back would be a distraction large enough that may draw other giants from the
area towards us, was my kind of thinking.
Now, that might not have been the...
case, but I'm definitely not against a distraction.
In fact, Red loves being a distraction.
I don't know if I...
Hello, my baby, hello my honey, hello, my right time.
Put on the hula.
It's like Timonin Pumba with Doran and Red.
You know, and even thinking about drawing them away,
Chaos Hammer, you've been here a few times.
Have those three giants moved?
They don't seem like they're patrolling.
They seem like they're guarding.
I think it would take a damn big distraction
and a hell of a lot of convincing to get them to move.
Chaos Hammer like
kind of squiggles
forward on his belly
and looks up over the top of the ridge
at these giants
and he
he takes a good look at them
and he's like
something's wrong
huh come again
Doran darts his eyes back
yeah he turns looks over his shoulder
at the five of us
come here
take a look at these guys
you see that right there
he points
One of the fire giants, he's got like a bandage of some kind,
like a makeshift bandage on one of his limbs.
Oh.
It's like, that's, I don't think that's from us.
Huh.
And as you watch these fire giants, you can see they're like kind of uneasy.
Hmm.
Is it possible that they were attacked in the same way that you were, General?
I would say that's very possible, yes.
Oh, no.
That, and maybe we're not the only ones
interested in this vaunted dod.
That's another absolutely possible option, Doren.
That, the wrath, the decay, what do we call it?
The hunger.
The hunger.
Then that, that hunger.
Yeah.
Furthermore, these giants seem to be alert.
They are scanning the surroundings.
this will be a challenging thing to sneak up on them.
Do you know what I mean?
They're like, they're kind of ready for whatever is about to drop.
Yeah, that tracks.
That's kind of what I was thinking with the guarding aspect,
but the fact that they seem to be nervous about something else as well doesn't vote well.
Although, although, perhaps, given that we may know what they're nervous up,
perhaps a distraction could be beneficial
what if from the opposite end
we had some sort of illusion
some thaumaturgy some
you know thing that they probably were looking for
we know the general outline of the creatures
that chaos hammer and the dwarfs fought
that could be something to draw at least
one if not two of them away
oh we did you're able to hurl things
a great distance with great force aren't you
you did so when you're at the tower
Certainly, yes.
And with a little bit of...
I'm a little bit of...
I'm writing.
Like not a full catapult spell.
He just lifts up a rock with his gravity beam from his arm
and just sort of it hovers and goes in front of his hand
and the rock just spins in front of it like it's ready to just get fired.
But then he just drops it to the ground.
Well, to Red's idea, I do still have this.
And Tamil will remove the big claw thing that she took from the pyre.
I don't think that I love...
Left that in the head in the town.
She, yeah, the, like, harpoon.
It's wrapped in cloth, and I believe that Dorn and Red described how it was used as a harpoon
by some of the hunger that they had fought before.
Right.
Yeah, yeah.
Whoa.
Is it like the claw that shoots out in harpoons?
That's a really cool claw.
My favorite kind of claw.
Of the claws.
Of all the claws.
It is a really good claw.
Does anyone else have any illusion abilities or, you know, if we could hurl that thing as if it was attacking from a certain angle, that definitely would be a distraction?
The things I can offer are making them more trying to at least make them more susceptible to whatever illusions or controls you have over them.
if your ability to hypnotize them what it depends on them being particularly weak of mind or body or reflex or something, you can let me know and I can try to make it a little easier for that to land.
A genera relies on the willpower of the subject if you have anything to help with that.
Aside from my axe and my wicked combat skills, I really have very little to offer except for maybe a disguise.
I don't know. Maybe I could dress up like a...
goblin or something.
Do the hula?
I could, hey, maybe I
could disguise myself as one of those
hunger, uh, hunger things.
In response to your question about
illusory magic, Wim
turns out the pockets in her cape,
like, sorry, you don't got any.
No.
Fair.
All right, look, it's, uh,
me too, kid. We don't need to be
too complicated with the, I think it's a smart
idea, but ultimately
I think we gotta do what we do best.
Take these things down one at a time.
Hmm. So, why don't we start with the closest one?
We did nods gravely, and as he does, he turns back to Tameel and says,
So Tabil, do you want this back, or, and you see him slowly with a robotic movement, a steady, like an elevator?
Just the arm is moving to behind him to put the claw into his storage, but he's, you, you at this back, right?
This cool claw.
Well, I was, uh, uh, uh, you know what?
Keep it.
Oh.
No, no.
I could.
I could.
But if I did, hypothetically, if I did, at the right time, I'm just saying, this gravity
gun and this claw were a beautiful set of tools that seem very designed to be used together.
I think that sounds like an amazing idea that I would love to see.
So why don't you hold on to it for now?
And if there's a moment where I could make better use of it, then I will ask for it back.
He spins it in his grip and then like sheeds it outside of his armor so that you can kind of grab it whenever you want.
Sweet.
As you spin it, you get two finger guns.
Team work.
Ooh, cool, claw.
He, but he looks so proud.
Chaos Hammer sort of pulls himself up out of the mud and like puts his head against your forehead, Doren, and puts his hand on your shoulder.
And he's like, it'll be like old times.
Yeah, yeah.
Warren fully embraces the tradition and puts his head.
And there's almost like a push, like a, you know, a bit of a challenge.
And then there's the hand on the shoulder and then we're both like.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah. Challenge competition.
Red's just staring down.
Hey, what do you make of that?
A Red wants to look at the ground underfoot, the Giants.
Does it look like it is the same terrain that?
we are immune from right now?
Yeah, it's slippy, sloppy mud.
Certainly they're not standing perfectly still.
They must be at least shuffling every once in a while.
Can Red roll some sort of survival to sort of see if they seem to be affected by it in any way, shape, or form?
Yeah, absolutely.
You can choose whether you want to roll perception or, yeah, like, survival is for tracking.
Nature.
No, to do survival.
Sure, sure.
I never get to roll survival.
19. Based on what you can see from the top of the ridge in terms of their footprints,
you can see that there are some slide marks in the mud. And additionally, you can see that
based on the weight of the giant, they do sink quite a bit with every footfall. It does seem
like the terrain is hindering their movement somewhat.
Red sort of turns to meal and just says, you know, I don't know. I don't know.
if it'll help, but it could be advantageous. My spell Sleet Storm would get all three of them with a
radius of about 40 feet. Now, to break a character, just to explain what it does, it's freezing
rain and sleet. It's the worst spell in the world. It would be the 20-foot wall cylinder with a 40-foot
radius centered on what I would probably do is the Von and Dodd, which would capture all of them.
The area becomes heavily obscured, which I do like,
and the ground is covered in ice making it difficult terrain,
which it already is, and we're immune from.
But when a creature enters the area for the first time or a turn starts there,
it has to make a deck saving throw, and on a failed, it falls prone.
So prone giants would be better than standing giants, which I like.
Additionally, if a creature starts its turn in the spell's area and is concentrating on a spell,
it has to make a successful con-saving throw against my spell save DC, which is 17, or it loses concentration.
And you can just dispel that, or is that sort of like a weather-changing spell?
This is concentration.
So I would lose pass-with-trace, but realistically, I'm not too worried about passive-th-trace.
All I mean to say is you can opt to cancel it.
I believe so.
Well, the big difference about this one is it is a spell based on the fact that I have the run from the I's run.
It's the giant run.
spell that I innately have.
It's one that's granted to me.
So, I don't know.
I like the heavily obscured aspect because that would...
It was granted to me.
Yeah, heavily obscured and then also an advantage there could be that, you know, like even
if they're real mad or whatever, getting back to the Von and Dodd if someone who, for example,
could fly is suddenly trying to get into it would also be more difficult.
Yeah.
And as far as I know, the giants all rely on sight.
They don't have true sight or anything like that.
So look, maybe if all this goes sideways, I can cast it, and then you can move with it.
Ah, I see.
Yes, I was concerned how much, if this was an opening of volley, how much of those effects would be affecting us.
But I like it as a resort for getting it to the voter, dot, yes.
Yeah, basically just a way to obscure us.
Keep it a little hidden.
Do we need any kind of smaller distraction to get these banishment,
and hypnotizing effects to land.
I'm not sure how close we have to be.
That's a good question.
Wim needs to be pretty close to charm.
Doran's sitting here and he's sort of listening to you
magic users chit-chat about how you're going to...
And he's walking towards the giant.
He's just...
No.
I'm bored.
I got my ex.
And he's got a wet stone out and he's just sort of like staying there
chewing some tobacco and and sharpening this axe quietly.
Just observing you guys.
I picture you all standing around sort of like shuffling papers and like, I don't know,
like chit chatting about no, no, no, you got to do it.
You got to do it here.
I picture I'm on my belly, like, overlooking.
Just waiting for the go.
We did confirm.
I could launch this baby pretty far and sort of holds out the orb of scintillating light.
that is the same arm that the gravity gun is,
but he has to swoop out.
So, Doren, you see him swapping out all these complicated parts.
Oh, cool.
And if I'm banishing, I can hit hell.
I could hit anything.
My range is like 700 feet or something.
And what about you, Timmil?
My thing I need to be pretty close for,
but I can also get fairly close.
Yeah.
Invisivism.
I think it'll be you and I running up.
That's kind of what I envisioned.
I was thinking more creeping, but...
I just sort of threw us on the edge of the map
here, but we can pretend you guys are, you know, a little farther away than that if that suits.
I would say any closer and we would be talking about needing to worry that the giants are
observing you making plans right now.
But if you want to be a little farther away, that's right.
I wish we'd be distracted.
We can hear you.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
This is so rude.
Awkward.
So they've cleared this area.
This feels like they've cleared this area to keep vision.
It's more so an after effect of the mudslime.
Oh, okay, okay.
Yeah, it was so severe in order to try to bury this tall creature.
Like so much mud from the upper slopes of the mountain was like torn off the mountainside and just sloughed off down this ravine that it carried a lot of trees and boulders and stuff with it.
So any trees that were here have kind of been shorn off at the trunks.
You guys are like in the shadows of a ruined ancient tree right now.
Ah.
I kind of picture like us at this bridge point where maybe behind us is not touched by this landslide.
But right where we are, it's like landslide down, looking down.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And so Doran sort of looks down and with his hand, he says, look, we've all got this water walk here that red.
He's given us and he kind of pokes at the mud in front of him on the other side of this ridge.
If we were to jump over here and slide down, you know, listen, we've got all these advantages,
all these magic advantages.
We could creep up where we could make an entrance.
I mean, there's only three of them, really.
It looks pretty muddy down there.
What do you guys think?
Yeah, let's do it.
Really?
Doran sort of looks at red.
A little astonished.
Sorry, I'll be honest.
I wasn't listening.
Just going to charge him.
there basically. Doran just wants to charge in.
Oh. No, what we're
going to do is we're going to hypnotize the one to the
fire east. I'm going to banish the one
to the far east and then we're going to attack
the one closest. Exactly. By sliding
in and making an entrance. I mean,
you can. Okay.
I think we'll get a few rounds before
he gets there anyway, so we're all fine. You just
tell me when you've done your magic
on the other two. Hopefully
you'll see it. And Doran sort of like
really starts to settle in and set
his sights on this one that's closest.
All right, I could get close with my invisibility to try to bane the two that will be banished and hypnotized.
As soon as that goes off, though, I will be exposed.
If needed, I can escape, but it will tip our hand.
Look, I think tipping the hand is going to happen no matter what.
Really, I think it just comes down to how safe we are.
It depends how much you would have to have that bane.
Also happy to just forego it.
What's the say for banishment?
It's wisdom for hypnotic pattern.
Banishing is charisma.
Ah, dang.
Okay, so I couldn't, it would have to be one or the other.
No, no, no, Bain.
Never mind. It's not Hex. It's Bain.
Bain's all saving throws, right?
Yeah. So it's, yeah.
Just a minus 1D4, if you guys want it.
I feel pretty good about being able to get out of there,
but if you are not comfortable with it, then I'm happy to...
It's not that I'm not comfortable.
I...
I'm worried.
Yes.
I'm worried for what.
what might come back.
That's not a giant.
These things are clearly nervous.
And I think what I'm concerned about is you zapping out of there
because it gets too hairy for you to burn up a spell slot
and then need it again later when shit really goes down.
It's so tough.
You're right.
These are all difficult decisions.
I'm happy to go without the pain.
Let's do it.
Yeah, look, this is all going to be a shit show.
This is the real deal, guys.
No matter what happens, it's going to be tough.
I say we hypnotic one, we banish one, we go without pain, you save your spell slot,
and who knows, maybe use the dimension in order to get us the hell out of here when they
come up on us up here, you know?
Positive thinking only, Red.
Right, I will hex the one furthest north and then hopefully make that charisma.
Yeah.
That make his charisma save.
There's no in-character way to say that well.
Hopefully make it easier to banish.
Leave this one for me.
And Doran points of the one closest to us and cracks his knuckles.
All right.
Are we ready?
I think we're about as ready.
Listen, we could think this thing to death.
At the end of the day, let's just attack them.
Let's fight some giants.
So the plan is that Tamil is going to sneak into range or you are just just.
Hex is a 90 foot range.
So 90 feet from this bad boy here.
Whoopsie.
I will have to sneak into range, yes.
I guess like skulking around down.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, I'll skulk.
You want me to roll for skull?
The problem is you'd be out of my radius of pass of the trace.
You're going to be, I mean, red could skulk with you.
Sure, I'll go with.
Is that what we want?
We can skulk.
You want to skulk with?
Yeah.
Pinser.
Does that work for you?
Whitted.
Pinser movement.
Affirbative.
Pinser that motherfucker.
Tammil, women, I will go sweep around the side so that Timmel is closer to the one that I'm going to banish to hex it.
Look, we'll wait for your signal, with it.
As soon as that hypnotic pattern gets in the sky.
I will try to banish the giant.
And then Dawn and Chaos Hammer, you two go in full steam ahead to axe that giant that's closest to you.
Sounds great.
So we're going to hypnotic pattern.
Then obviously the giants are going to notice what's going on.
And then we're going to roll initiative and see what it is.
Okay.
No surprise round?
These guys are not surpriseable.
They are entirely alert to the fact that they could be ambushed at any moment.
They are on guard.
All right.
So essentially what we can do is one person will act.
alone in a surprise round, you've all decided that it's Witted casting hypnotic pattern.
Correct.
After that happens, then we roll initiative for the combat to begin.
Bingo, bingo.
Could be that Witted gets to go again at the top of the combat.
Who knows?
Could be.
Who knows?
Let's find out.
This week on Dyshaim.
Maybe we can trade initiative spots red if, just depending on how things shake out.
Okay, cool.
Yep.
Yeah, 100%.
Let's do it.
Almost like a flare gun kind of going off to insight this whole attack.
Witted, like, charges up the scintillating orb that looks kind of like Luke Skywalker's training drone,
and it just arcs through the air.
And just as it looks like it's going to crash land and destroy itself right next to or on the giant's chest,
it just freezes in the air next to the giant, starts spinning and shooting lights everywhere.
It's not exactly subtle, but to the giant, he's like staring at it.
He's, like, staring at it.
Oh, and he needs to make a wisdom saving throw.
Cool.
He's playing some real good disco, actually.
Starts playing, like, anime, like, hyper-animity music.
I like that, yeah, absolutely.
It's transformation music, yeah.
The Giants' heads snaps in your direction, rolled a 19.
Oh, no.
Are you kidding me?
It falls inert to the ground.
Yeah.
And with that, you are compromised.
Everybody roll for initiative.
Dun, dun, dun, dun, dun, dun.
Dun dun dun dun.
I guess.
Okay, now I'd just like to thank our dear Patreon supporters.
Screw all their names down here.

Have a great one and see you around the battlefield.
Sorry, Joe, I really like the idea that Widdin's inventions work consistently, but
every now and then someone just breaks it.
And he's like, oh, damn, well, that's a really good move.
I didn't think of that.
Great wisdom saved.
I don't fail in the engineering of it.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah, it's flawless in his engineering.
It's just this guy was like, what if I just take out the battery?
and I'm like, damn it.
I'm like a battlebot strategy.
