Oh my God, I've never seen such a thing move so fast.
Uh-oh, that ain't right.
You've been to carnivals, you get it.
This is artifices at work here.
Outta who's it wasa?
They're going to come out if we open this door.
Careful, everyone.
This is a slippery little bugger.
Oh, no, no.
We got a valve up here.
A valve and a valve to top it all off.
Are they supposed to be here?
If you're willing to wait a moment, I'm almost done here.
It looks like so.
Jesus, wait, hold on.
Oh, oh, oh, okay.
Doren, do it.
Hit him with the axe.
Okay.
Look at those guys walking around.
run on two legs, man.
Welcome back to Dice Shame.
This is season two, episode 183, Inside Scoop.
MVP this week is Nightshade, who asked a very curious and interesting question about
an episode that they're currently listening to.
Well, don't worry, Nightshade, when you listen to this, you're going to get all the answers
that you dreamed of.
And a few more questions to string you along.
Thanks so much, you're this week's MVP.
All right, should we place in D&D?
Yeah, let's do it.
Woo!
Having just pulled themselves up and into the door in the bottom of the Von and Dodd's left leg,
Doran and General Chaos Hammer join their adventuring companions in an airlock-style chamber not a moment too soon.
The colossal war machine fires up some serious power deep within itself,
and you're all thrown back against a sidewall as its velocity increases faster than you can react.
For a few seconds, the sound of air whipping past the open airlock door is intense,
and you are all treated to a bird's eye view of the landscape as it diminishes below you.
And then the door slides.
What the hell, we did it?
You didn't say this thing could fly!
Wow.
This is new information for me as well.
But you see a big smile on his face.
Why, you're smiling?
Oh, Jesus.
He can fly!
All right, all right.
Okay, is everyone here, everyone accounted for?
Should we make our way to some control room?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, let's just take a second.
Jesus, did you see that thing?
It touched a giant and turned it to dust.
My God, that's the thing that killed Kraloff.
We didn't have much time to talk about it, but I guess Red is still technically invisible, isn't he?
Yeah, yeah.
Tamil, can you get this invisibility off me?
Timil will drop concentration on invisibility, greater invisibility.
Jeez, thanks.
Oh, yeah, of course.
Thanks so much.
That was a game change there.
Yeah.
But yeah, that thing, my.
God, I've never seen power like that.
What the hell was that?
Witted, did you recognize that creature back there?
All I know is that the voted guy got us far away, but if I had to take a guess,
that looked like a creature of the shadow fell.
It seems like our old friends are back again.
We're far away from there now.
Doren, like, rolls over from being on the floor where he launched himself in,
and he's all wind-swept and, like, oh, my God, I've never seen such a thing move so fast.
It's like one of those centrifugal force machines at the carnival.
The gravatron.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You've been to carnivals, you get it.
You get it.
You get it.
Indeed, you are inside the Vonondod's ankle in a nearly empty chamber whose walls,
floor and ceiling are made from smooth, brushed metal plates.
With a near imperceptible hum, small glass chambers set into the floor.
floor flicker to life and project a dim red light into the room. Behind you the door to the
exterior's firmly closed and ahead of you on the wall opposite there is an identical door. Beside
each door there's a mechanism of some kind. Oh geez. Wimmy okay? Wimnods.
Hang on. This, that creature, it, I mean, is it tied to that area? Is that we have this
weapon and there is a threat that could start roaming the, the countryside, is that something we
should address now?
Well, I don't know.
We don't exactly want to use this weapon.
I mean, how?
How do we even, I don't see any kind of, he starts knocking on the wall?
Right, yeah, let's put our first foot forward.
A great deal more study needs to be done before we start implementing the weaponry on board
here, at least in my opinion.
All right, well, I guess everyone look for the control room, I suppose.
And I think as Doran rises to his feet, he sort of comes to the center of the room and he,
I think he looks around at you all and he gives you all like a, he starts giving thumbs up and high fives.
And we did it.
We're on the vaunted die.
We're here.
We made it to the machine.
Now we just got to get through these doors.
He kind of walks up to the door that they didn't come in through and he, I guess, feels the door.
He knocks.
Dang, dong, dong, dong.
Hello.
Is there a doorbell?
See people spread out and like knocking on walls and stuff.
Wittitt is suddenly like one of those kids who's like, no, everyone has to stop touching my toy.
And it's not his toy and he knows it deep down.
And he's like, no, but like, but I like it more than you guys do.
So like you have to know.
And you see him like, he keeps trying to move in front of people before they move over to stuff.
And he says, I just everyone, let's just, I understand that we want to make use of this thing.
And we want to figure out where we're going.
But I just, I don't think we should touch anything or do.
anything rash until I've had a chance to look at everything.
Huh?
Red's like prying off one of the red gems on the floor with a knife.
He's like, I could get this thing off.
Witted, are you worried about traps or some sort of defense mechanism on the inside
that we should be careful of?
Oh, yeah, yeah, let's say that 100%.
Yeah, yeah, traps, defensive measures, anything could really be happening.
You see his eyes lighting up with glee at this notion.
Like, there could be anything, really.
Power sources.
I hadn't even thought about traps.
Power sources that could go critical if mishandled,
weaponry systems that could incinerate entire.
Oh, let's just look around and parse out and take inventory of everything.
I think at that moment, Doran approaches Timiel, and he sort of says under his breath,
you know, I'm realizing now just how involved with it is with this thing.
After finally seeing the Vaughn and Dodd face to face,
I'm realizing how closely he imaged Betsy after it.
Oh, my God.
Yes, quite the fan, it would seem.
Yeah, really.
I think we should, I think we should give him the lead and let him, you know, discover for us.
General Chaos Hammer is like, he's like knocking his boots against the wall and like to like dislodge some of the mud that has accumulated on his traveling gear because we were sort of sloshing through some of the mud before red cast waterwalk.
And like, clods of dirt are, like, falling on the floor a little bit.
Yep, we finally made it.
That can be the dirt corner.
Wittitt just purses his lips and his staring at this, like.
Red kind of overhearing Doren because they're in a tiny room just says,
yeah, hey, take the way, Witted.
And he gestures to the door forward.
Before Wittitton even does so much as open a door,
would I be able to make an arcana check on, you mentioned the gems that are embedded in the floor?
Is that right?
Uh-huh.
Absolutely.
Here, I pried one off.
No, no.
They are glass chambers set into the floor, so they're flush with the metal floor.
And from within these glass chambers, there's a light being emitted.
These are almost like runway lights kind of vibe.
Cool.
That's really cool.
And do you mention, is there a device in the room next to the door?
Yeah.
So next to the door that you came in and the door that is opposite you, or now sort of the door that Doran is sort of standing near to, there are twin devices on the floor.
I would love to make an Arcana check on those devices. I think the runway lights, I've got a mental handle on, but those devices, I'm curious what they might do.
This room is identical. If we were to get turned around, we could mistake one door for the other, if you'll.
This is very true, yes.
You could, potentially, except there's one key difference.
The northern door has got something really gross squashed between the door and its frame.
Okay.
Yeah.
What is it?
Except that is.
So this yucky corpse is directly beside the mechanism that Witted is going to go over and make an archa check at.
Wittit is trying to like, he doesn't brush the body out of the way, but it's,
It's also clear it's not the focus of his attention.
He couldn't care less that they're, like he should, but he's not paying attention to the body.
He's trying to look at the implement, the device, and he's looking around it to examine the function of that.
But obviously, would notice features about the body as well.
I think, Timil will nudge the body kind of off, like, away from the door and away from whatever it is when it's trying to examine so that there can be a parallel, I don't know, nature check.
You tell me.
Sure.
Yeah.
Absolutely.
You can roll nature if you want to learn like the nature of the creature or medicine if you want to find out like how it died potentially.
While you roll those things, Witted, what did you roll for your Arcana check?
I got a total of a 23 on my Arcana check.
Nice.
All right. All right.
All right.
So in terms of just like the bare physicality of the mechanism that you're looking at, there is a shiny silver lever set into a panel that's in the floor.
And then beside it, there is a raised circular switch or button of some kind,
sort of like a two-part mechanism.
You are able to ascertain based on some of the engravings
that adorned both of these pieces of mechanical doodery,
that there is definitely some magic in play here.
So it's not just an engineering feat.
This is a magical engineering.
This is artificet work here.
Ada, who's a wessa?
I picture with it, like, reaching past this corpse, like, not even noticing.
And then, like, 30 seconds later going, oh, oh, what's that?
It's, like, right in your face.
You're so concentrated.
Nick, what did you roll for Temeel?
Tammil goes and tries to dislodge the body with her boot and ends up kind of, like,
misjudging the structural integrity of the corpse and smears it a little bit.
I will do ten.
10 medicine
A smearing
You still have water walk on
So all the blood
Like kind of like pushes away
As your foot gets close to it
Yeah
So I squish
What's it called like hydrophobic
Like
You kind of lose your footing a little bit
Just full slip
Just eats it like slipping out of banana peel
Yeah
Careful everyone
This is a slippery little bugger
Oh there's a body
you make a little bit of a mess
there's uh you do learn though
the goop um that you've stepped in
still wet still seeping from the ruined
carapace
dorn turns to me like what is that
that that looks wet and goopy
that thing you push with your foot
what was that what is that
it's uh you know
organic and um fresh and that's
all I can really tell
hmm well let me see red walks up
and he'll do a nature check as well.
Great.
Being a ranger gives me extra power when I'm rolling.
Yeah, I don't know what that is.
A 14.
You think it could be a big old spider.
Oh, that's a big spider, Tamil.
Yuck!
Good thing, you squished it a little more.
Here, red kicks it a little bit more.
Stupid spiders in the Von and Dodd.
This should be it here.
Poor guy wanted to get inside just as much as us.
And he's like, get that out of here.
And Widit has not figured out what
the do-dads you had mentioned do.
We don't know their function, correct?
You are fairly sure that it has to do with the operation of the door,
but there's something else at play here.
Hmm.
Kind of looking around almost at the hull, I feel like.
He's looking at the walls, but you can tell specifically, like, the doors and stuff,
and he's like, it's worth considering we should maybe find out exactly what did this,
guppification to this spider.
I mean...
Well, the spider's stuck in the door, isn't it?
Yeah.
I mean, the assumption is that the door was closed.
Yeah, it looks like it got squashed.
Like the door closed on it.
I want to say that it's easy to assume that maybe someone shut the door on the spider so that it couldn't get in.
But now I'm also thinking, what if there's more of those spiders inside the Von and Dodd?
And they're going to come out if we open this door.
I mean, it's just a possibility.
Oh, Wim did a really great perception check.
Oh, way to go, Wim.
Thank you.
She sort of looks over Red's shoulder and she points at a place on the floor where there is a black stain sort of underneath and around the carcass.
And she kind of shrugs like, what the fuck's that?
It's just a black stain, Wim.
Black stain.
Can I roll for what the fuck's that?
Yeah, what the fuck is that?
Andrew, what the fuck is that bonus?
You can investigate if you like.
Or I don't know.
Red, do you want to investigate? Maybe I can help you.
I have a feeling your investigation is probably better than mine.
Mine's only plus three.
Mine's plus two.
Okay, I'll do it.
Ah, sure, let me take a look.
Timil, give me a hand here.
Yes, let's see.
You and me on the old black stain.
It looks a little...
Stainy.
Slimy.
Very black.
18.
Yeah.
Taste like tar.
Don't lick it.
What?
My tar is numb.
Maybe you like scratch it with an arrowhead.
or something, and it flakes off
similar to the way that you would expect
like soot or ash to flake?
Oh, interesting. I was thinking
that. It tastes numbing,
but other than that, it seems to be
some sort of
flakiness. Look!
And he holds his finger up to Witted.
Wittin is now getting worried, actually,
because it's, thanks to Dore and he's like,
oh, spiders might be on, like, in the Vonen Dodd right now.
He's getting very upset about this notion,
and so he would like to study
that residue and see if he can figure something else out about it maybe. Would that be Arcana or?
No, this is all, this is a nature check. Yeah. God damn it. Eleven. No, no luck. You're not able to
deduce much apart from like this. It's like the kind of substance you would get on your hands
after like cleaning a campfire maybe. Wait, this soot substance came from the creature or it was
just on unclear, but it's like very close to the carcass. Well, is the carcass bleeding the substance?
No.
Okay, so it's got its own fluids on the inside.
Yeah, there's extra goop.
Huh.
Maybe it's something to do with fire.
I mean, it looks like soot.
I wonder if these are, you know,
fire giant related spiders.
That would make sense.
Presto! Red pulls out of match
and lights it.
Everyone stand away.
Red light covers his eyes and with one like outstretched hand,
he goes down and he tries to put the flame
on like anything down there.
Like he touches the black.
The goop?
Yeah.
Yeah.
It's like weirdly flammable.
Oh.
Like the fire changes color a little bit.
It turns like kind of a purply color.
But it like dances along the carapace of this ruined insect.
Maybe they're just like lantern spiders or something.
Can I look for differences between,
are there any differences between the mechanisms for the two doors for the inner door and the outer door?
or are they exactly the same?
Like even the writing on them.
Yes, there are differences.
We tried these levers and buttons, right?
No, we haven't.
The levers and buttons that are beside the door that leads in
have the writings on them.
The lever and button that leads out do not have any writing.
What the hell?
Red puts his foot on the button and pulls the lever.
Wait, no button should be.
Too late.
As you hold down the button.
and then throw the lever at the same time.
The airlocked chamber that you're in
undergoes some kind of magical effect.
You feel a lightning-fast crinkle roll along your body's,
almost like a whip cracking.
The tiny red lights in the floor flash
and you experience vertigo for half a second.
The dimensions of the room distort
and then snap back into front.
And then the door opens.
Oh.
Anyone else feel really weird?
for a second there.
What was that?
Did you guys feel that?
Just a slow head turned towards Witted.
Oh, that felt strange.
Sorry, I'm making a lot of Arcana Chicks,
but I anticipate that's going to be the theme
of Witted and the Voddenad.
Can I make an Rikana check on that?
Yeah.
27, let's go.
Hell yes.
Oh, all right.
Tim is dying to know.
You definitely experienced some form of transmutation just then.
I don't know.
Witted, have.
Have you ever been subject of the enlarge-reduced spell before?
Ooh.
I think yes at some point while like squeezing into tighter spaces or something like that,
I think Witted would have been using spells like that.
Certainly other transmutation magic at some point, yeah.
Yeah, you can identify that.
Witted is like looking at this screen that has popped out of his arm.
And he's like, I'm detecting high levels of transmutation.
This was some kind of an alteration effect of
What moment, goggles come down,
he starts doing a ritual casting of detect magic,
which is going to take a little while.
Okay.
Oh, okay.
In the meantime, the door eases open
to reveal a corridor with a door at the far end.
What we just felt like there,
that felt a lot like when,
you remember when Mari turned me into a giant ape
or something, I think it was Mari.
Someone turned me into a giant.
Well, this hallway looks a hell of a lot longer than it should.
We did just kind of adjusts his goggles, lifts up one of the, as he's like still like making adjustments to create this detect magic.
In fact, he lifts up one lens and just says like offhand.
Polyborph is transmutation magic, yes.
And you could tell he doesn't think it's a good comparison, but he's like supporting Doran.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'm just saying it was a very...
What a hell.
It's such a feeling in sight.
Listen, I don't know what just happened there, but did you?
all feel the same thing.
Felt something for sure.
Yeah.
Are we staying here or moving further in?
Let's move in.
Red says and takes a step forward.
Looking back, he looks at Witt.
We should wait for him.
If you're willing to wait a moment, I'm almost done here.
Dorn sort of looks down the hallway and heaps his axe.
As you look down the hallway, you watch as a dark red beetle, the size of a dog.
trundles slowly from one of the eastern rooms
to one of the western rooms in front of you,
just crossing the pathway ahead of you.
It either does not notice you,
or doesn't care that you're here,
just sort of walks across the hall.
Did you see the size of that beetle?
Uh-oh, that ain't right.
No.
Red, you and Doran, you both know giants better than Widdard and I.
Is this the sort of thing?
Are they supposed to be here?
I don't know anything about this fucking thing
That's Winnard, that's Widdard's world
I've never heard of beetles and giants working together
There should be any life forms on board here, but us
This hallway is a hell of a lot longer too than that shin
Never heard of her
Wait, wait
I mean, you always think there's going to be somebody running it
And I didn't think it'd be insects
Widid, why do you, why do you think that there shouldn't be any life forms
Well, that's less of it
He looks embarrassed now, less of it at Alice has
and more of a opinion.
We're here.
They should be.
It's not theirs.
Oh.
Well, look, they don't look angry or jealous or hungry.
Jealous.
Let's approach with caution.
I suppose I'm being a little territorial.
He looks at the bugs like shrugs.
Look at those guys walking around on two legs, man.
I wish I could walk around on two legs.
That looks so fun.
And Red Wool sort of tentatively take a step out into the hallway.
Yeah.
Red, you enter this hallway. There's a coarse hatched texture to the metal running the length of
this corridor. And as you move a little bit forward, you see there are several of these beetles
sort of wandering around this area. At two points along the length of this corridor, doorways
open on either side into small rooms beyond. And it seems like there are
several beetles sort of walking around this area.
Oh, okay.
Red sort of creeps up to the edge of one of these rooms
and just watches one of the Beatles for a second.
Yeah.
Duren stays right by his side.
Cover my back, Doren.
Oh, I've got you here, Red.
Don't worry.
As you watch, one of the Beatles lifts its Elytra
to stretch out its flight wings underneath
and it like buzzes before sort of folding them back
underneath these like hardened carapace.
And then it moves to a space on the floor.
Each of these chambers has these super prominent bronze pipes that run wall to wall.
They cross each other, these elbow bends, they rejoin other pipes.
It's an organized jumble.
And these beetles are kind of congregating around the pipes.
I think they're keeping this bad boy running.
I think they might be greasing it up,
but repairing it. Look.
Red wants to watch them for a second.
I'm formulating a theory
that the pool underneath that thing was like,
I think these are a little like repair bugs in a way.
They're not oopal-o-o-o-o-beals, are they?
As Red says that
your detect magic ritual is completed, Witted,
you are afforded the information
that yes, the room and especially the lever and switch that you had thrown are coated in a
powdery sheen of transmutation magic.
This residue is all magical.
Additionally, you get a big ping off of another lever that is just on the inside of the door
that Doran and red have gone through now.
So there's a similar lever just on the other side of the door.
a button. How big is this room?
15 feet tall, 10 feet tall. Okay. Somewhere around there. Okay. And like it feels like it's 10 feet
tall for us. Kind of submarine-esque. Yeah. Yeah. Meanwhile, Red, you are watching these little
Beatles. And so you are looking in on, there's a quartet of rooms sort of clustered around this
corridor. You are looking at the bottom right chamber in particular, right? Yeah. So you spot
some liquid sloshing around on the floor underneath some of the pipes in the corner.
Looks like something might be leaking in here.
I guess I'll head in.
Red sort of cautiously steps in, like puts a foot in and watches the Beatles if they react.
Yeah.
One of the Beatles like, like kind of turns to face you and like stupidly regards you in its compact eyes.
Does it look angry?
I mean.
Red slowly puts us foot down in the room.
You can roll animal handling, I guess.
Sure.
To see if the bug's angry.
Oh, that's a dirty 20.
Hey, doesn't seem like the beetle is angry, but jealous might be appropriate.
All right, Ringo.
Look, I don't want to get on you.
And he steps in and he's like, just let me take a lookie around.
Does it look like, okay?
Hmm.
What's your passive person?
perception.
It's 20.
My passive perception is 20.
All right.
Some of the pipes...
Because I have observation.
Nice.
Yeah, I can read lips too.
Some of the pipes here are slightly different color than the others.
And on the floor underneath some of these pipes, there are some fragments of some kind of pale substance.
Ooh.
Do I get the impression that it might be like...
eggs, like a nest?
No.
Like the way the creature reacted to me, does it seem maternal?
No.
Okay.
In fact, there's another beetle in this room, and it's like, you watch as it like, starts
eating one of those pieces.
Oh.
The white pieces?
Yeah.
All right, Paul.
And Reddit enters the room.
What is everyone else doing?
Widdid's looking into this room.
Is anything in here lighting up as magical, the redid, the white residue or the beetles or the pipes?
Yeah.
Yes.
The pipes are lighting up as magical
where this coloration is different.
And actually the little pieces on the ground
are also lighting up as just,
they're almost like dimming as you watch.
Magical leftovers.
This is fallout of some kind.
What's that with it?
Red, it's like crouched down looking at the white stuff.
None of this makes any sense to me at all.
It's all magical.
It's fading, but it's,
It's magical, I'm telling you.
Magical?
Is it related to the whatever it was we experienced in the other room?
Not exactly the same, no.
Is it abjuration?
It is abjuration magic.
Yes, yes.
You're exactly right, to be able.
Whatever it is, the bugs are eating it.
Must be connected to the Vododod.
The Vododod's the most powerful magic here, I hope.
Red picks up a piece of the white stuff.
What is it, like a shell?
Oh, Red.
As you pick up a piece of that,
white stuff, the closest beetle towards you turns and tries to get you with its mandibles.
Red drops it.
A natural one.
Okay.
I had 20 with my animal handling as well.
Can I like, you know, carry that over to be like, you know, oh, a peaceful standing up?
You know what I mean?
Because I only rolled it to enter the room.
Like I feel like.
You drop it right away.
The thing, the thing tries to snap at your hand and then kind of like guards the bit.
That's all yours.
All yours, buddy.
I'll end it for a bit.
Geez, that pall is snippy.
As Red sort of investigates this one room, Doran continues up the hallway.
It's the second room on the left, and I'm looking into this room,
and it appears as though maybe there's some sort of cap or...
Yeah, Doran, you walk down the hallway and you look into the top left chamber.
Again, we're seeing this mass of bronze-colored pipes that have got these strange discolourations on them.
Ah.
And in this room, Doran, there's a valve on the largest pipe.
It is glowing, dark orange and spitting off sparks as you watch.
So it's like hot to the touch.
Yeah.
Too hot.
Hot, damn.
Red, red, hot.
orange hot.
Can't turn this thing
without a
oven pan.
Oh,
could have probably
found a better rhyme,
I'm sure.
Red stands up,
sort of exasperated.
Man, I can't make
heads of tails
at this shit with it.
He steps back out
into the hall.
We got weird beetles
that seem to
leak some sort of
viscous goo.
We got magically
fading white bits
that they eat.
Now, very protective
of.
Got weird sauce in the
corner.
We got a,
we got a valve up here.
A valve
to top it all off.
We got a valve up
here that looks
like it needs to
be, uh, looks like it needs to be relieved, but I don't know how we're going to grab it.
It looks to be molten hot.
Look, did why the hell did they transmute us?
That I am still not totally clear on. I'm wondering if it was some kind of a entrance,
uh, uh, uh, scan or test or alteration, he says that ominously, uh, that, um,
was necessary for us to enter the voted dot. I'm sure it was some kind of security measure. I just
have it deduced what.
But Red, I think you're odd to something here.
I wonder if these Beatles are part of the,
for lack of a better term, ecosystem of the voted Dodd.
This would be fascinating, and he's lost, like, in notes now.
You see him pull out a book, and he's flipping through inside the armor,
and hearing Doran mentioned the valve, he goes,
don't, don't, don't relieve or release or otherwise at least anything
until I have a chance to take a look at it.
So even as he's flipping through the book,
he starts marching in the direction of that valve.
Oh, of course.
Joe, is the liquid that you were talking about under the pipes,
is it in the kind of southeasterly corner of that room?
Is that?
Yes.
Do the Beatles seem protective of that the way they're protective of the white stuff?
They don't seem to be.
Can I?
Lick it.
Can I just fully get down on all fours and start licking the floor?
No, can I?
I mean, I'd love to take some.
like a peaton out of my bag or something, and just try to like, yeah, like touch, like interact with the liquid a little bit to at least determine things like viscosity, whether or not it's like corrosive slash acidic or something like that.
For sure.
And also maybe even while I'm down low to look for a potential source of it.
As you get down low Hansy-Nees style, you are able to get a good look at the back wall of the room.
sort of underneath where most of the pipes are.
And you see that part of one of the wall panels back there has been bent aside.
And you can see a hole through.
And that's where the liquid is coming through.
And interacting with this liquid, you can ascertain that this is some kind of oil or lubricant or something.
I mean, you're not quite sure what it's uses, but it's not just.
like water.
Yeah.
Like, or like condensation that like, you know.
Yeah.
Yeah. It's coming out of the hole in the wall.
Does it feel like the hole is beetle-sized, potentially beetle created?
Definitely.
In fact, you see like little munch marks where it's been wrenched aside?
An alternative theory to them being part of the ecosystem is that this is some sort of infestation.
And then she will describe the like what she's seeing.
And maybe even shine a flashlight under there.
What the fuck?
We don't have flashlights.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
She'll just kind of like, she'll be describing it.
And she's like, and it seems like this might be leaking, I don't know, lubricant, hydronic fluid, something.
We did.
Your eyes would be appreciated here.
She'll kind of step over the Beatles.
Is this one John Red?
No, that's Ringo and Paul.
All right.
John and George were up here with me.
I see.
I like George.
Yeah, we'll take a look at what Temeel Astor to look at.
It is as she describes, there's a hole back there that looks like it was made by the mischievous mandibles of a bunch of marauding beetles.
And actually, would it, as you are down there observing, you watch as a beetle sort of crawls along one of these pipes and rips a piece of this like,
sheath off and starts eating it.
The discoloration on these pipes,
it's actually a different substance altogether,
and the beetles seem to be removing it and eating it.
Okay, so Widdid's got the goggles on.
They're like glowing, so he looks already a little more maniacal
than Witted normally does.
You see his brows begin to furrow
in maybe the angriest expression we have ever seen Witted have so.
far and his slight grin begins to like manifest on his face.
You see the original weapon we saw with it using, the flame tosser that fires my firebolt.
The gun pops out and he just turns slightly as with his eyes still locked on the bug,
taking bites and digging into the pipe.
And he just says to read, looking bad for Ringo and John right now.
I think these are not so much part of the ecosystem and the external.
have arrived, let's say, and he starts pointing his gun at that.
Nice.
As soon as he starts pointing the gun, Temeel dives out of the room, just like almost horizontal,
just diving out.
He's advancing in gun ready.
Red jumps in front.
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
Jesus, wait it.
Hold on.
Red, you're absolutely right.
The gun goes back into his arm with, like, click, and the lid comes on.
And he says, this is going to require a little bit more precision.
We don't want collateral damage.
and immediately his gauntlets ignite with electric energy.
Yeah, Doran's raising his ass.
Hold on, hold on, buddy.
Hold on, hold on, listen, listen.
I'm not against a little bug slaughtering.
I'm just talking about, we don't know how flammable.
Look, look, I lit that thing back there,
and purple flames consume the whole thing.
If that little leak in pool is flammable,
you could be setting off a chain reaction that blows this whole thing to high hell.
Ugh.
That's right.
We should use the good old melee weapons.
Here, let me help.
Let's not get too excited, Red.
Come on, it's just a little beetle.
Let's just, just, just, everyone take a quick, quick, just a break.
Okay, we got transmuted.
We don't know why.
And clearly there's some infestation.
I'm all for beetles being, you know, exterminated.
I'm all for that.
But let's make damn sure we don't blow ourselves to Kingdom Come, right?
Right?
You're right.
It's eating the pipe, though.
Rend, do it.
Hit him with the axe.
Okay.
The beetle rips another part of this sheathing off of the pipe as you're talking.
Yeah, Doren doesn't wait a second.
He full out attacks.
Okay, Doren.
Get him, Doret.
Get him.
Doren, you sort of charge in and heedlessly swing your axe at this beetle, the innocent creature?
Yeah.
Okay.
The innocent creature.
Jeez.
Joe.
It's going to be 25 to hit.
You do.
Yes.
doing 16 points of slashing damage.
Ork Splitter sinks neatly through this Beatles carapace,
and with a wild explosion, the beetle detonate.
Doran, you take nine points of fire damage as the beetle explodes.
Anyone else within five feet?
I'm behind the wall.
I am right next to Doran, I would think.
Yeah.
Did you also take nine points of fire damage as the beetle?
It'll explodes.
Absolutely.
Oh, God.
You do see Witted Wins, but his shields, I think to my knowledge, the temporary hit points stick around until I rest, so I still have 14 temporary hit points.
So the shields absorb most of that damage.
Okay, so it's not a liquid that's explosive.
Okay, now I'd just like to thank our dear Patreon supporters.
I screwle their names down here.
