Take him off the field for a minute.
William, I'm sorry about your dragon.
Not today.
That's so good.
Nice.
Well, he's got a negative on charisma, so that's got to count for something.
Thank you.
Thank you.
Do what you have to do.
Come on, Doren.
Let's take this fucking down.
Unbelievable.
Jesus, big numbers.
My ancestors used to do this.
Please.
Natural 20.
Yes.
Let's go.
Beautiful.
Big, go.
Welcome back to Dyshame.
This is Season 2, Episode 199, Till the last.
MVP this week is all of you!
As we round down season two, reflect on the loss of players,
and the addition of some new voices,
we cannot help but be grateful for those
who have been avid listeners to the show since the beginning.
For almost seven years, we've been on this adventure,
and we're excited to continue on with you by our side.
Thank you so much for listening.
We hope you continue to enjoy.
Yeah, thanks, guys.
All right, shall we do this?
Yep, let's play some D&D.
Yeah.
Ow!
This part of your epic quest is nearly at an end.
You fought side by side in the Coliseum of Al-Hamor,
spoke to royalty in Citadel Felbar,
entered into treaty with a thousand-fist orcs.
You liberated slaves in the Yakfolk village,
infiltrated the forged citadel of iron slag,
hijacked the colossus,
and stand here now,
side by side with your companions,
drawn together by your heroism and curiosity
and sense of moral obligation,
and fear for what may happen to the world
should your efforts fail.
And now,
as you confront Duke's Duc's,
Zalto and the remnants of his army uttering your challenge to end things once and for all.
He agrees.
Maybe he continues to underestimate you, or maybe you've backed him into a corner, or maybe you've got another thing coming.
He gestures to his forces, a series of military-style hand signals, and the crowd moves itself
backwards, forming a loose ring around you.
I hope you don't mind if I level the playing field somewhat.
I find the hounds much prefer it when the heat is on.
A flash of light emanates from above you,
and in an instant a fiery orange half sphere encloses the battlefield, and with it,
an oppressive heat begins to sink into your skin.
And as Zaltow nods to his tower shield guards,
one of them throws Kalia to the dusty ground in front of the salivating hellhounds.
She looks so small there at the feet of the giants.
And Zalto laughs at you, Timul.
Now, take her back from me if you can.
And he raises his hammer high overhead.
flexing his chest at all of you.
Roll for initiative.
Witted, would you get for your initiative role?
Witted, as his targeting computer almost tries to lock on to Duke Zaltow,
but you can see it's like lenses widening in fear.
Only gets a 12, even with advantage.
Okay.
Tamil.
An 18.
Nice.
Doran.
Seven.
Red, what did you get?
15.
And unfortunately, Wimmy rolled a five.
Oh, no.
I got to be honest, guys.
I'm a little scared here.
We're supposed to cheat on these rolls, guys.
Come on.
Fucking cheat.
So we got Tamil, Red,
withed Doran Wim,
and some bad boys
sprinkled around in there.
Top of the order.
Tamil.
Standing where she is.
She's well.
within range to do the one thing that she has done in her mind and in her heart and comes almost effortlessly.
She starts to whisper, you are nothing, you are not the leader you think.
Everyone's eyes are on you. And when you fail, you will destroy yourself.
And I will cast hex on Duke Zalto.
Nice.
Okay.
Let's get it.
There's no save.
No possibility to be saved.
I would love to give him disadvantage on ability checks made with charisma.
Noted.
And for my action, Tamil is just going to huck static at this hungry-looking hound.
Ooh.
Nice.
Angry-hound.
Okay, does a 23 hit.
Yes.
A 23 does hit.
Well, I hate to tell you.
Okay.
So 13 damage total.
Fabulous, static arcs through the orange air
and just lances through this hellhound
and it yipes in pain
as you cross the battlefield.
Red, it is your turn.
Red draws his arrow and fires at Zolto.
Smile, you motherfucker.
And I roll a natural 20.
Ooh!
Yeah.
Da-da.
Let's see.
I am going to try to banish him.
Can he please do a charisma saving throw for me?
Certainly.
Disadvantage, thank you to the hex.
Yes, I am.
Nice.
My first charisma save was a 22.
Oof.
But because of the disadvantage, I only rolled a 12.
As my arrow sails across the fiery battlefield and hits Zalto's leg, he disappears.
Being banished away.
What?
His speed is zero.
He is incapacitated while away.
And at the end of his next turn, he will reappear in the space or the nearest unoccupied space.
So he's gone.
Is that the end of your turn?
No.
Take him off the field for a minute.
And Red will turn and he will fire his second shot at the hound that Temeel has already hit.
Yep.
Nice.
Nice, nice.
19 hit?
It does.
Excellent.
And I'm going to use my Colossus Slayer because it has already been damaged.
Ooh.
23 damage.
Okay.
After hitting the hound, red steps forward next to Doran.
We got this buddy.
And for a bonus action, I will cast fairy fire on the hound that I just attacked.
Fabulous?
It needs to make a dexterity save.
Ten.
It failed.
Which is great, because this is a low save, too.
It's only 14.
So that hound is outlined in a red hue, denoting,
fairy fire. Every attack against that
will be an attack with advantage from here on out.
Okay. Fabulous
turn. It would have been
Duke Zaltos' turn.
Occupied by his banishment,
he spends his
turn in some faraway
realm, although
he does return at the end.
So he's only gone
for a few seconds
before he disoriented
returns back to
the material plane. Covered
mayonnaise.
Naturally, he's got like a fish
tucked behind his ear or something.
He's like in the, he was in the
aqua realm.
He was wearing completely different pants.
Great.
I love that.
Yeah.
The crap crows out of his beard.
Next up,
we have the hellhounds.
These hellhounds were
until moments ago
chewing on
some bones.
And they
still look very, very hungry.
The first Hellhound, I think, being that it has been attacked rather mercilessly by
Tamil and Red is going to charge across the battlefield towards you, Tamil.
Yeah.
And will launch itself at you in a frenzy of bites.
Unfortunately, that's only nine to hit you.
Oh.
Where are my good roles?
That's what I want to know.
Back in iron slag.
This thing comes in for a bite and Tameel just backhand slaps it across the snout.
Yes.
Yeah.
Yipe!
Unfortunately, the other hellhound sees some easier prey.
It stalks over to where your sister is lying unconscious in the dust and takes a big fucking bite out of her.
I'm going to count that as a failed death save.
Ooh.
So that didn't go great for Kalia.
No.
Next up we have Whitted Wigwalmer.
Okay, Witted had been geared up seeing the look on Temeel's face,
seeing the sister and putting everything together.
He had been focused on her ever since the battle began,
and he's going to be jetting forward 25 feet.
As he kind of puts into his hand,
letting it crawl out of his armor around the wrist,
the spider.
And almost like he's following its magnetism towards Kailia,
he is charging it up with some kind of energy
and then tries to send it flying at Temeel's sister.
Now, that's a 50-foot throw that I would need to be pulling off right now.
And I don't know if any sort of connective force might be helping echo to reach this sister,
but I'm definitely trying to get it within range to maybe land on her back or something like that.
That's a far fucking throw.
It is 100%.
I was hoping to be closer, but that's as close as I can get.
I think we're going to have to roll to see how good you do.
I mean, throwing is usually governed by strength, right?
So we're just going to do us.
We'll say athletics if you have any training.
Use your inspiration.
Do you have inspiration?
I do not.
I'll donate mine if you allow it the way you don't allow that to you.
Yeah, you can share if you like.
I would be honored to me.
I will definitely take that for a free.
The inspiration, save my sister!
Absolutely.
And I whispered echo as I send him through the air.
You heard her.
And now, with a 19, that's already way better than I expected to do.
So that's a good start and the advantage, unfortunately, did not help with a six.
But I will say I am preemptively going to use, before you even tell me the result, the reaction flash
of genius, which I believe I can use to add plus five as a reaction to one ability check,
to bring that up to a 24, which is witted, like, using the lens, the visor, and he's just
like doing the Tony Stark, like, seeing the trajectory kind of of the arc of the throw,
and as he sends it through the air, it's like, it's going to land right on her back, hopefully.
Yeah, yeah. Not only does it land right on her back, but you can see.
see that the spider had like tucked its little legs in as a projectile to gain all of the
aerodynamics possible. And as it lands safely on Kalia's back, it re-extends its little legs. It
seems to have survived the impact just fine as well. Yeah. Absolutely. We did kind of nods in
Red's direction and out loud because of that response says like the legs are working better than ever.
He's preoccupied for just a minute, like, damn, those, the struts are like really mobile now.
It's just impressive.
And for it to have paid off in this way, the landing stuck.
He immediately almost triggers something on his gauntlet, then responds on Echo, releasing all of this energy that seems to surround Kalea, and she immediately vanishes.
Whoa.
Nice.
He then looks up at Duke Zalto and all these giants with his visor down and says,
I'd estimate that she is about 6,288 miles away right now in a safe house of my knowing the location exclusively.
This is in fact not true.
Kahlia is invisible right now.
That's amazing!
And I am desperate.
If the camera zooms inside of Witted suit,
he is staring straight ahead, frozen in panic right now,
hoping that he sounds more confident outside the suit.
But he's whispering under his breath.
That's not even true.
That's not even true.
That's not even true.
Can I please get a deception check from you for this?
100%.
What I will ask is,
by any chance, do I have advantage on that deception check?
Because my odds are officially worse on this one.
Oh, no.
Well, he's got a negative on charisma, so that's got a count for something.
Oh.
Insights wisdom.
It's not a charisma check.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah, that's not applicable.
You know what?
Beg your case.
I just made the evidence of such a spell happening.
Now, if Duke Zolto knows that was an invisibility spell, we're talking a very different
story.
He might have an archa check up his sleeve or something like that.
But I do think that if he just saw this body vanish, he might be inclined.
to believe as I call out like, yeah, she's a million miles away. May I also offer an argument?
Duke Salto would have seen Witted in the Von and Dodd. He would have known that Witted in some way
was contributory to him losing control of his big toy war machine. And also, we've established in
canon that Witted is dressed, has like Bessie bears a fairly striking resemblance to the
Vonondod in that technology. So even if there was like, even if he'd seen all the magic
in the world, there is this obviously
brilliant little artificer
in front of him who could potentially have
the power to teleport. So tiny.
Kelia in such a way. Okay.
Roll with advantage.
Your deception check then.
All right.
12 on the first roll
and that's a plus zero.
Oh! A critical
hit, Natural 20
on the second roll.
Yeah, baby.
Unbelievable.
The fucking odds.
No way.
Bingo, bingo!
What?
Not only does Duke Zalto look like kind of pissed at you, but also, like, kind of distracted
at, like, some water in his ear from having been banished until just moments ago.
And Red and Dorn by it, too.
Like, well, he really did that.
How impressive.
Fabulous.
If he could do that, why the fuck does he get us out of here?
Not me, not me.
Good stuff
You got anything else up your sleeve?
Would it?
No, that'll be it.
I think that's probably my bonus action,
the deception check.
So that'll be my full turn.
And Witted Blitz out,
this sigh of relief inside of his suit.
Oh, and he whispers under his breath
as Duke Zolto is like getting the water out of his year.
Like, damn it, my hostage.
And he's just like,
Duke Zalto be scared to me.
He's like sitting back contented a little bit.
The tiny artificer versus the mighty artificer.
I love it.
Wow.
Good turn.
All right.
Doran, you are up.
What happens next?
Doran watches Tamil Red and Witted,
all focusing on Kahlia and observing the entire scene.
Doran seeks Duke Soto's attention also on Witted and Kahlia.
And Doran makes the decision to dash and charge up and get right up in front of Duke Selto.
Yes.
Create a distraction.
as much as possible.
So he's right in front of him.
I can't attack unless you guys suggest that I do like an action surge or something.
If you're asking, I would argue the best distraction you can do is wailing on him.
But you'd still be a distraction.
You'd just be up in his face.
All right.
So, okay, I am going to use action search then.
Yes.
Yes.
That's going to be a really bad role.
Oh, no.
Using Lucky to re-roll.
Holy crap.
And 18 to hit?
You hit.
Oh, yes.
Doing maximum damage.
Fuck yeah.
It's going to be 34 points of slashing damage.
Yes, Doran.
Solto's upper thighs.
I think he's distracted now.
Yeah.
Yeah, Doran says something like,
why don't you focus on something that's not praying on the week?
And he jams him right into his thigh.
Oh, that's attack one.
too, sorry.
Oh my God, get it, Doran.
23.
Mm-hmm.
Granted.
32 more points of damage.
Fuck.
And coming back around, Doran takes off another cleave of his other leg and the thigh region.
Shows of hot, giant blood just start pouring down on you.
It is a place you love to be covered in your enemy's viscera.
And, yeah, Zalto is clearly hurting.
As this slice comes through and there's a splash.
Yes.
There's this rumble of excitement over in Doran's region.
Yes.
Well done.
Okay.
The shield guards act now.
Oof.
The first shield guard, they move to defend their Duke.
The first one, essentially Doran,
moves into position besides Zalto and then charges at you.
He has a.
these two huge tower shields, one on each arm, and he moves them into position ahead of him,
turning into like a wedge shape of hot metal. And there are these spikes that stick out of the
shields at you. He sets his head down beside the Duke and then just charges at you and uses
that's like a battering ram to hit you.
He actually picks you up and moves you along with him in this charge.
I need you to make a strength saving throw.
I'm like, is that in my saving throws?
That's going to be an unnatural 20.
Hey.
Fail.
Oh, no.
Yes.
No way.
Yes.
All right.
Yeah, you fail.
Doran, you take 39 bludgeoning damage.
Plus, ouch.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking.
18 fire damage.
And you are pushed along in front of this giant.
As he plows into you, pushing you along in front of him,
these hot spikes are just run.
friending you, dealing bludgeoning and fire damage to you, and you are pushed away from being in front of Duke Zolto.
That's when the second shield guard sets his shields into place.
He moves forward and then attempts to do the same thing.
This one's going to hit you potentially as well, Temeel.
I need both of you to make strength saving throws, please.
Oh, fuck.
That doesn't sound good.
Yeah.
Nick?
22.
Would you get, Alex?
21.
And 22?
You guys.
Yeah.
Oh, thank goodness.
Doren, like, learned from the first one.
And look out, here it comes.
The second shield giant puts his head down and try.
to batter his way through you, Doran, and Timil,
but you managed to dodge nimbly out of the way,
having learned your very painful lesson from last time.
Those are the shield guards.
Finally, bottom of the round, sweet whimmy.
Oh, Wim.
Does something you've never seen her do before.
Wim's eyes roll back in her head,
turning white.
And wind whips up and she shoots her hands down on either side of her.
And this like, these spectral wings emerge from her shoulders.
And they flap really powerfully.
And as they do, a spirit of a dragon births itself from her torso.
This large silver dragon emerges.
Dragon!
Dragon!
The spectral dragon flies up and over top
sort of between where the shield guardians are
and makes its way sort of behind
and aims a breath weapon
at one of the shield guards and Zalto together.
It's a 30-foot cone, so it's pretty epic.
They are going to have to make dexterity saving
throws.
Four for the dreadnought
and Zalto gets
a natural
one.
Oh, worse.
They each
take 10 cold damage.
Nice. Yes.
Cold against the fire.
Yeah, they hate that.
Arch nemesis.
The dragon then lifts a powerful
spectral arm and slashes out
at the shield guardian
opposite her and the
Giant takes a further seven piercing damage.
All right.
Top of the round.
Everybody please make a Constitution's saving throw.
Oh.
As the arena becomes oppressively hot
and the pressure inside of this hemisphere
starts to crush in on you.
Red, what did you get?
19.
Doran?
A 12.
Okay, you fail.
Yeah.
Tamil, what did you get?
Not 20, baby.
Hey!
Nice, nice, nice.
Nice.
You succeed.
Tim, what did it get?
21 for Witted NIFI resistance in case that helps.
Hell yeah.
Wim fails with a 10.
Oh.
Everybody who failed takes one level of exhaustion.
Yikes.
So level one, currently you have disadvantage on all ability to.
checks. We are going to be rolling cumulative exhaustion levels as the battle progresses.
All right, top of the round. Tamil. Tamil desperately just wants to clear some of these enemies
off the field so that she can go and attend to her sister. She's going to take two attacks
against the hellhound in front of her. With advantage because he's fairy fired. Correct. Love that. Nice. Yes.
First one is a 22 to hit.
You do.
15 damage.
Okay.
You kill the hellhound.
Nice.
This is static straight down.
She holds it above her head and then drives it down into itself, pinning it to the ground for a moment before, ripping it out, withdrawing it out, withdrawing it, and turning to face this shield guide.
Mm-hmm.
Second one is a 13 to hit.
13 misses.
God damn it.
All right, Red, you're up.
Red launches an enfeebling arrow at Zolto.
I'm going to roll to hit.
I'm going to use my inspiration.
18?
18 hits.
That's going to be 36 damage.
Wow.
He takes 2D6 necrotic damage, which is 11,
and my regular damage, which is 25,
and he must succeed on a con-saving throw.
Okay. They're fairly constituted.
We'll still try for it.
Always worth a try.
24.
Damn. No worries.
And then Red is going to move.
He's going to shift a little bit to the side so that he is still within a nice distance from these enemies.
But geographically closer, since his fairy fire got dropped as a bonus action, he's going to cast fairy fire on probably Duke Zalto, frankly.
Okay.
He will have to succeed at a dexterity saving throw.
This is pretty low, so he might pass it.
And 17?
Yeah, he passes that.
Dang, that's one use down.
And then for my second attack, I will attack the...
You know what?
I'm just going to attack Zalto.
Someone's got to take this fucking down.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
So I'm just going to attack him normal, no advantage, no nothing.
Let's just ice this fucker.
That was a 19-1-1-1-1-1-1.
Plus, plus plus.
Beautiful.
Hell yeah.
It's going to be nice to hit.
That's going to be plus six to hit, so it's 25.
I'm going to use my Colossus slayer because he is a colossus.
He is.
Of course.
That's...
And you are a slayer.
26 damage.
Excellent.
So that's a total of 36 plus 26 damage done to Zalto.
Jesus, big numbers.
Yeah.
Unfortunately, read the eye of this.
monstrous fire giant turns directly toward you.
It is Zaltos' turn.
He didn't like that very much.
Zalto charges forward, having the distance between you and he,
and in the meantime picking up two huge chunks of masonry,
and he launches them towards you as he comes.
14 to hit you, Red?
And 29.
Hits.
You take 27 bludgeoning damage as a huge chunk of the wall of silvery moon slams into you and rolls to the side past you.
Red.
Red studies himself.
That's Zalto for you.
It's the hound's turn.
Uh-oh.
Oh, no.
One hound remains.
Hound.
Hound possessive, not hound plural.
And he's hungry.
Well, here's the thing.
He's a little bit surprised by the fact that his food disappeared,
but you know what?
He's got keen smell.
Oh, right.
He has advantage on perception checks that rely on this skill.
Totally valid.
The hellhound's nose hoves over.
Kalea's invisible form and it takes another terrible bite.
And in fact, you see it like grab something invisible in its mouth and start shaking like
and pulling.
It's not looking good, but it's not looking like much of anything at all anyway.
So maybe that's a blessing is that we don't have to see the inevitable happen.
The hound occupied with dealing yet another failed death saving throw with Kalia.
We move on to Witted's turn.
Witted, what do you do?
Ooh, all right.
Is the summon dragon like a creature?
Like, that's an entity, not just a spell effect.
Is that right?
It has hit points.
It has like stats, right?
Yep.
Yeah.
Okay, so what I'm going to do before I even move then,
because I think I can do this from my current range
is cast a concentration spell
when it takes out what is now a rather familiar device,
the almost semi-circular orb that he is throwing out.
He shouts out, Wham, I'm sorry about your dragon.
It lands directly below the dragon
and then projects out all this scintillating light,
like a disco ball,
that plays across the fire giant shield warden to the west,
as well as the body that is no longer invisible
and the hellhound.
And each of them is going to need to make a wisdom saving through
to avoid being incapacitated.
Unfortunately, the dragon will need to make this as well.
We're talking both of the shield guardian giants,
the hellhound and the silver dragon.
It's going to be wisdom saves for each of them.
Okay.
Nice.
Hellhounds.
This hypnotic pattern.
It'll incapacitate them.
Once they get hurt, they'll wake up.
So I'm doing this really out of desperation right now.
I know we're only buying time,
but I'm trying to buy every minute I can.
Okay, the Hellhound rolled a six.
Yes.
That was the important part.
Okay, awesome.
Perfect.
Dreadnought number one.
That's a dirty one.
Oh.
And finally, the one in front of you, Temeel, 11.
Oh, I love that.
No way.
And as far as the silver dragon goes.
Nat 20, come on.
Natural one.
Oh, I'm so sorry.
What a powerful hypnotic pattern.
So powerful.
Someone slap that dragon.
Everyone within the cube of influence just gets this glazed look on their face as the lights play over their eyes.
That's great.
Do they repeat that save every round?
They do not.
It's just injuries that can wake them up.
They just hang out.
I mean, if...
That could be it here.
Redd sees this and he's like,
and we focus down Duke Zolto while they're under the hypnosis.
We can end this thing.
I have to save my sister.
Do what you have to do. Come on, Doran.
Let's take this fucking down.
I'm already on it there, Red.
Whitton just arcs his jets goes past the incapacitated juggernaut
and tries to get closer to Timil's sister.
I'm about 25 feet away from her.
Okay. Doran, it is your turn.
Doran's looking left at Duke Zolt.
looking right at the Hellhound who's like chomping down on Tammel's sister.
And then looking back left at Zaltor, and he's right here.
And then all of a sudden this sparkly thing shows up and the Hellhound kind of takes a break.
And he goes, okay.
I thought you could be like, but that pattern.
Yeah.
You voluntarily succumb to the United States.
I'm not out of it.
I'm curious.
I want to see where this goes.
No, he doesn't get distracted whatsoever.
And he turns and immediately.
attacks Duke Zolto. Yes. Yes. This is going to be with the Great Weapons Master's feet.
19 to hit. Yes, Doran. Yes. Let's go. Let's go. Doing another 21 points of damage.
Yeah. I kind of chopping to Zoltos back of his ankles. I'm just like, you know, the perfect
height for like chopping at his legs. This is so uncomfortable for the guy. In older editions,
dwarves used to get bonuses attacking just giants. Like,
specifically just giants.
It was very key.
Really? Yeah, there's like this nostalgia that comes back.
And Doran's like, my ancestors just to do this.
Oh, all right.
That's your first attack.
For my second attack, maybe I should use a lucky.
18, I think, is our DC.
Oh, right.
That's going to be a 18?
18 hits.
Yes.
Yes.
Nice.
Let's go.
I'm going to, okay, you know what?
Precision attack allows me.
to add in my superior to die even after I realized.
He's drunk on power.
The bloodlust.
Hey, I didn't need no bell.
I don't need no bell.
Adrian.
Oh, which really helps.
What's the total?
24 more damage.
Nice.
Yes.
Yes.
All right.
Dorn's just like, take it.
I feel like you're doing some like Yoda acrobatics.
going on here.
Oh, yeah.
There's some leaping.
Yeah, everybody's seeing this new
side of Doran.
Yeah, man.
Wasn't it a Duke?
Wasn't it a Duke?
What's his name?
Duke.
Zalto.
Oh.
No, Duko, duck.
Dark, dark.
Duku.
No, no.
Doesn't shut out.
Dukko.
Dukko.
Dukhi.
I'm sorry.
I'm sorry to interrupt.
Yes.
Duku.
And Duke Zalto is getting this
like punch drunk look on his face as he takes
this savage beating Doren.
Yeah.
Do you got any more in the tank?
I'll use second win now while I'm here and just get myself some health back.
Yes.
Dorn and sort of takes a couple hacks and then it takes a second and stands up, stretches his back.
Yes.
A couple deep breaths.
Okay.
The shield guards, they just stare at the pretty colors.
Amazing.
Yes.
The sound of the army is muted from behind this.
this cloud of orange fire.
And their companions are like banging against the threshold,
trying to wake them up.
And nothing is reaching them.
That's so good.
The bubble he created is his own downfall.
Yeah, is like keeping them from being woken up by their companions.
It's Wim's turn.
Wim drops concentration on.
on the Silver Dragon and it winks out of existence.
She then dashes a hand in her pocket,
grabs the licorice shavings,
and throws them in the air, hasting herself.
Nice.
Whoa.
Using that extra movement,
she moves across the battlefield,
lightning fast and is at Kalia's side in an instant.
Yes.
Would it be hastening?
What?
I think is it hasting.
Hasted?
This feels like good things to spend time on.
Well, I'm just saying.
Alex, it's superiority.
Superiority, Alex.
Leaning over Kalia's bleeding body,
she checks her pulse.
I'm going to do a medicine check?
Mm-hmm.
Her medicine check with a 14,
she can tell that the thread of Kalia's life
is almost broken,
but not yet.
And so she reaches into her side bag and grabs a healing potion, her last one, and pours it into Kalia's mouth.
And she regains bare few hit points that essentially bring her to like the threadiest consciousness available.
Her eyes flutter open, looking up blindly at the side.
sky and Wim looks around the stupid legs of the shield guardian fire giant that's just standing there
looking at all the colors and she throws you a big thumbs up.
Oh, right.
Timbiel kind of barks out this laugh as tears are streaming down her face and she just gives
her two big thumbs up back and she just mouths, thank you. Thank you, Wim.
Way to go, Wimmy.
Way to go.
That's all she got for this turn.
So that's Wim.
Wow.
Way to go.
Yep.
Thanks.
Top of the round.
Everybody make a Constitution saving throw.
Switch hit her.
Dang it to heck.
Kali and Nat 20s that con save for some reason.
Nice.
She's like, not this time.
No, no.
This heat is healing.
Fred?
18.
It's a 15 to save.
I will just show.
you my cards right now.
Doran, did you succeed?
Yes, I did with a 19.
Okay.
Nick, what do we have for?
17.
Okay, sick.
Thank God.
Nice.
Last but not least,
Witted.
20.
Fabulous.
Everyone's feeling.
Dirty, dirty, 20.
Real enervated by this final phase of the confrontation.
Both of the dreadnots are still possessed by this hypnotic pattern, the hellhound.
Its mouth is open mid-chew.
and just saliva is leaking out,
but its eyes are just staring glassily ahead.
The only combatant on the field in possession of his own wits is Duke Zolto.
Tamil, it is your turn.
Tamil starts walking towards Zaltow,
just like she did in the market before,
where she's moving forward kind of using static as almost like a walking stick.
But every time it hits the ground,
it's emitting this low.
rumble of thunder and admitting me sparks.
She's going to start to whisper,
Your plans have failed.
Your men are incapacitated.
And your defense gesturing up at this bubble seems to be working against you.
Everything you've done has turned to shit.
And I'm going to use Hex Blades Curse.
This is different than Hex, and it's not concentration.
As she walks forward, she's just going to take two swings at Zaltu.
Nice.
A dirty 20 to hit on the first.
Nice.
Mm.
And a 19 to hit on the second.
Nice.
Beautiful.
Yes.
Temeel deals 43 damage to Duke Zaltu.
Oh.
With 38 hit points left.
The fire giant ruler falls to a heavy knee in front of you.
Timile, blood leaking out of his ears, bubbling out of his mouth, and just this far look in his eyes.
You hear him murmur under his breath with his dying breath.
Father, I've failed you.
And then keeling over the ground shakes as he falls.
his great mall falling from his nerveless hands.
He dies.
Wow.
Way to go, guys.
Let's go.
Let's go.
The force field that surrounds you falters and then dissipates.
And you hear again the murmur of the crowd reach your ears unfettered.
And the remaining fire giants and ogres, the forces,
there is like a moment of disbelief.
I think Tamil puffs up.
She smacks static down onto the ground again,
another rumble of thunder.
And she turns and addresses the assembled fire giants.
And she says,
Your leader has been laid low.
Your war machine has been captured.
Dispers now or meet the same fate as this one here,
pointing static directly at Duke Salto.
I'll make an intimidation during him you want me to do.
Please.
Natural 20.
Hell yeah.
Yes, let's go.
Beautiful.
Beautiful.
The edges of the forces massed around you
start to fray and leak away.
Like individuals break off and then small groups start to leave.
And they're not even all going in the same direction.
You seem to have not just convinced them to abandon this attack on silvery moon,
but maybe like shaking them to such a degree that they don't even seem like they're going back to iron slag anymore.
And you catch a couple faces as they start to turn away from you.
These high up, 20 feet tall faces.
And they almost look ashamed of having been bested by this small band.
Red stands up from being crouched besides Zaltow flipping the shirt that he had tucked over his head back and be like, what?
Oh, they're gone.
Damn.
Hey, he had playing cards in his pocket.
He's like walking over, like, flicking through them.
Not big playing cards.
Not like giant playing cards.
Just regular playing cards.
Why would you have regular playing cards in your pocket as a giant?
It doesn't make sense.
Wouldn't they have giant playing cards?
Let me just see those playing cards.
Right?
Look.
Yeah, look here.
There's a Joker.
There's a whole thing.
It's a normal thing.
Regular playing cards.
Oh.
Anyway, good job, everyone.
Xalt was dead.
Yeah.
Whim, you hear like a clap off to the side as Wimm grabs your attention.
Yeah, playing cards, Wimmy.
That's what I'm saying.
saying? It's crazy.
She's, like, crouched by Kalia's side over on the far side of the, the battleground.
Oh, yeah.
Oh, Tamil's sister.
Tamil is sprinting to her side.
Kneeling down next to Kahlia, she's just kind of holding her.
She looks up at Wim, gives her another grateful nod, and then she's kind of cradling Kahlia in her arms, supporting her head with her hand.
Kahlia, Kahlia, can you hear me?
Her eyes flutter open, and a look of recognition crosses her face.
Tamil?
I've got you.
I've got you now.
Thank you.
Just ignoring wounds and any like succumbens sense
just brings Kalia close and hugs her so tight.
Her body is so much thinner than you remember.
And it's clear that she's going to need some real time recovering,
but she is here now in your arms.
Timil looks up at whim and draws her into the,
hug too so that she's holding both of them.
Well, you know, Red coming up from
behind also hugs from behind.
I mean, look, just in case,
come on, Doran, come on, win it.
Yeah. And then, like, beside Red's
space is the Hellhound space
still, like, hypnotized
and just, like, looking into the middle.
Red, like, very softly turns it away,
like, without adjusting it.
Yeah.
Your breath is terrible.
It smells like no bones. We got another 30 seconds.
Don't worry about it. He says, joining the
hug as they push the hellhound away.
Guys, we did it, and we saved your sister at the same time.
Thank you all so much.
Truly, there is no way that I could ever repay any of you.
The crowds watching from the battlements of Silvery Moon
are able to see the army disperse in bits and pieces
until all that is left alongside the huge corpse of the fired giant,
Duke, six tiny figures in the distance holding each other close and looking to the future.
You know, I can't help but feel like reading the names of the Patreon supporters is becoming
longer than the episodes themselves. So I'm going to try something a little different here and
use some magic. We would like to thank our Patriots.

Bye bye.
As the arena becomes oppressively hot and the pressure inside of this hemisphere starts to crush in on you.
Cluck, cluck.
Yeah, yeah.
Doran?
It's getting hot in here.
So take off all your clothes.
Jinks.
