The adrenaline is now wearing off.
The great one here.
I mean, you've got to celebrate the wind.
We've got the Vonerdad now.
We have so much in carbon.
I don't see how this could go wrong.
We'll see about that.
Hey, you old so-and-so?
Reach out of it.
Oh, no, Tamil, not at all.
Scoot that out of the way.
Come on back.
I'll buy you a dream.
That certainly complicates.
I found myself surprised.
All right.
Right out of the gate.
All right.
All right.
All right.
We can literally destroy all of our enemies in one foul blow.
Oh, we thought Witted was the one we needed to be worried about.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Welcome back to Dyshame. This is Season 2, Episode 200, the end of the line.
All in, Dyshame has produced 350 plus episodes over almost seven years, and we're incredibly proud of that accomplishment.
But this week, we wanted to dedicate the MVP shout out to you, the audience.
If you're out there in Audio Land listening to the show, I'm talking to you.
Thank you so much for all of your support over the years,
for your kind words, your enthusiastic live blogging,
for the fan art and the new friends we've made along the way.
This has been an incredible experience for us,
and we can't wait to see what awaits us in season three.
Wait, wait, right, right.
Didn't we do that last week?
I'm having deja vu.
Uh...
Marvin!
MVP is Marvin.
Marvin!
Congratulations, Marvin.
You're this week's MVP.
Marvin.
All right, should replace me?
Yeah, let's go.
The town of Silvery Moon has rarely seen the kind of carousing that is currently taking place.
Usually a city of quiet study in hushed libraries of civil discourse and of tempered ritual,
vanquishing the fire giant horror.
has brought a flush of grateful vitality to the survivors and spirits are high.
Here and there in the streets, the victorious defenders break into spontaneous cheers,
groups of people congregating restaurants, shops, homes,
spilling out into the streets in gleeful thrones.
This is where we find our heroes.
Hazar! We did it!
Hale, yeah!
I always knew we had it in us!
I mean, really, it seems kind of...
of odd,
A Doren,
and Red, like,
leans back on Dorn for a little,
that sounds like,
it's just another giant fight for us,
you know,
but for some reason,
there's some sense of finality about it,
like this is the end of something?
I don't know,
can't really quite make sense of it.
Doron still, like,
breathes on his fingernails
and dusts them on his,
on his jacket.
I think you made your fingernails dear to you.
Feeling very proud.
Yeah,
it's pretty nice.
Hey, hey,
Hey, Winnit!
Red slaps wood on the back.
Hey, Tammiel,
Slaps.
Hey, Wimmy!
I think Tameel.
is actually at this scene she's not with the group and maybe like rejoins at this moment.
There you are.
Like she'll, yeah, she'll join them at their.
Yeah.
Like Wim and Timil were sort of helping Kahlia to like a temple somewhere where she could get some healing and to be taken care of.
Yeah.
Yeah.
So like we just kind of walk up.
Widdett was hovering above the crowd until he got more and more comfortable so he lowered down.
The suit is since opened up and he's getting a little red-faced as he's a little red-faced as he's
He's been waving a drink around and using the armor just to almost be a little bit above the crowd as he parties with it.
Yeah, cheers, widded.
Hey, Tammil.
Hey.
Welcome back.
Um, what's everyone drinking?
Everything.
Ha, ha.
Right.
This is some grayest stuff.
That's red, brown juice.
Grab a tankard.
Timil just reaches for the closest available tankard.
Yeah.
I imagine your sister's doing all right there, and he kind of slaps you on the back.
She is not doing great, but she'll recover. She's very strong.
She'll come around. Damn right, she will.
Great job out there. Great job out there.
Doran sort turns to the four of you and starts shaking hands.
Oh, Doran. Wow. I've never seen such an amazing display from such talented, strategic warriors.
Yep.
I admit, it's all a bit of a blur, isn't it? I feel like I went into some sort of
a fugue state and the adrenaline is now wearing off.
Yeah, you look sleepy.
How do you have so much energy?
I'll have to borrow some of yours.
It's time for celebration, isn't it?
Well, we did it.
I mean, look around.
There's fanfare around, isn't there?
There's fanfare.
The streets are full of people.
And, like, folks, like, kind of recognize you here and there
and someone, like, shoves a meat kebab in your hands,
and someone else, like, gives you guys shots and, like.
Yeah, yeah, and yet, and yet, and yet,
it's silent because all those sound effects
sound sounds so time-consuming and complicated.
It's in your mind.
And yet it's just so peacefully.
The rabble is happening around you,
but because we have all been through something so momentous,
it's almost as if nothing else matters in this moment.
Except for the bag,
pipe and theremin music,
which is beautiful.
Hear that, Joe, I get to buy a theorem.
I play the most incredible.
BDM beat right now.
It sounds a little something like this.
I like the idea that Bessie turns into a turntable.
There's wartime Bessie and peacetime Bessie.
Yeah, look, you can have lots of my energy, Temeil.
It's a bit of a relief, a little bit of breathing.
Red sits down at one of the tables.
That's like a, you know, a restaurant patio, like on the street.
And he sits back and downs his tankered and slams it down.
on the table.
Ah!
I mean, you gotta celebrate the wins, you know?
There's one thing Dawn and I have learned,
it's that if you don't celebrate the wins,
the time's waiting for the next one,
feel awfully long.
I mean, after all, look around, Tamil.
What's there to be sad about?
We have literally saved the world.
We turned the giant army around.
They basically disbanded.
Hell, I mean,
I wouldn't be surprised if they even managed to gather.
of their horses again.
They did seem to scatter and didn't they?
At the end of the fight, they all just sort of wandered off, which was odd.
Well, we've got the Vonadodd now.
And we can use it to protect us.
Right.
Indeed.
I don't see them coming back to pick another fight with the great one here.
No.
We kind of look outside.
I feel like it's parked.
Like, it's like parked outside of the diner.
I gesture it up in it, yeah.
In the distance.
It's like hovering in the sky, like look.
down on you right now.
It's got its four ways on.
Gigantic thing.
Yeah, he presses a button, the eyes flash,
boopo-win.
But, you know, with the mention
of the Von and Dodd, Red's
disposition does become a little bit more solemn
as he remembers the
problem with it.
Temeel and Red, on one hand,
feeling that the thing is too strong
and too dangerous to stay with the others
on the other side, feeling like it could be used
as a weapon. And Red sort of
meets Temeel's eyes and suddenly,
follows her sort of lead on why she's feeling a little bit more dower.
Right, the Vonendod.
Well, I don't think there's any reason to beat around the bush here.
I don't think we can delay this conversation anymore.
From where Tamil and I are sitting,
we firmly believe this weapon is too dangerous to be out there.
Hmm?
It's something that has turned the tide of this battle,
yes, but it could equally be used to turn the tide
of a more nefarious battle.
to aid the giants.
This day would not have come
if we had not wrestled its control
from the enemy.
The journey from Liberator to oppressor
is not a long one when you have something
as powerful as the Vonendard at your side.
Doran's position
physically changes and he stands
next to Witted, kind of like
looking at the two of you.
And then looking over at Witted.
And just as it does
seem like Witted is almost like
standing beside Duran ready to
to draw lines of division.
He says,
I have always logged
to find something like the voted dot.
And ever since I learned of its existence,
it was something that I wanted to understand more.
I understand the Voted Dodd more than I ever have before,
but perhaps all of us here now know more
than I ever hoped to
and what I discovered, we all discovered,
is that the voted Dodd that I was looking for,
is it the voted Dodd that we found?
There is, in a certain sense, no voted Dodd.
And he looks up in the distance at this floating machine.
It's somewhat else entirely that I thought that it was.
It's Dajadras.
Whittid, when we left the Vonondod, you were not with us.
I assume that you either did something or had a conversation.
And I'm curious what the outcome of that is.
Query, are you good?
Widid had been looking at the door ready to go try to have.
help and he turns back to Najadras.
I think I am.
I...
I want to be.
I...
And he walks over and he almost like sits down,
looking at the battle outside and then looking back at Najidross.
My family's down there.
But if I go to fight, I wouldn't be fighting for them.
This is something maybe you can't relate to,
but my family aren't very good people,
and I'm one of them.
I was made by them,
the way you were made by your creators.
I don't know if they made me right or wrong.
I wouldn't go save them, I know that.
Query, does your kind believe that death is evil?
There are many among my kind who would say that, yes.
I suppose I'm one of them.
I was built to inflict death and pain.
That means ultimately I am evil.
No, no, that's what I had to realize too.
You see, you could be so much more than the people who built you.
And that's what I wanted to do.
That's what I still want to do
Is be better than the people
Who Made me
Quarry
Have you met this goal?
I don't know what I would have said
But now
I think
Whitted Wickwalmer
You feel you could
supersede the purpose
That you were built for
I was born for
I was born in lands drenched in fire
built to spill the blood of dragons
I am not sure that this body could ever be used
for good
No you
I should not be allowed to exist
You're
You can't just choose
Because they chose
to build you this way
That's, it's not fair to you.
You should have to.
I have been a war machine for the 1,000-year war,
then decommissioned for 40,000 years,
now reawoken and used for war again.
I have no other purpose.
This look of horrible guilt falls over Widdid's face.
Even now, Witted Wigwammer,
You are the pilot, a good man.
And I am still used for war.
I...
You...
I don't want you to have to be a weapon.
And I gave you the order that made you one again.
So I have no right to choose for you.
I
it should be your choice
whatever happens
and he looks at the map
and he looks at
the great form
this AI in front of him
imprisoned
and if you want
to be
decommissioned
that is your choice
it should always be your choice
it should always be your choice
It's strange.
The planes of her face, the ceramic quality of her skin almost shifts.
Her expression changes into something you haven't seen before.
It's almost like organically thoughtful.
And she says,
I have never been given that before.
It should have always been your choice.
Witted is resigned as he says this and starts to make his way towards the exit.
And as he sort of floats into the air heading for the hatch, he turns back and he says,
you know, before I go, we should try Wadbore test.
Oh, God.
the van and dod
wants to be destroyed
I mean
God
what a
selfless thing
for something that we thought
was a mindless killing machine
to do
I suppose in an
odd sense it's
it's noble
more noble than a great many humans
nobes and elves that I know
well that certainly
complicates the
scenario
sort of scratches his head.
Complicates it how?
Well, I mean, some of us had, you know, big plans for this machine.
I mean, what the hell?
I mean, you know how many cities we could protect?
How many lives might be saved if we were to continue to use this thing?
Come on.
Dimeel shoots who looked to red kind of a, oh, we thought Witted was the one we needed to be worried about.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
We could literally destroy all of our enemies in one.
foul blow. And Red reaches across the table. He's like, Doren, Doren, Doren, your heart's in the right
place, but look, I think, I think now is maybe the time not to mourn the loss of a weapon,
but to potentially mourn the loss of a friend. That, that Varn and Dodd is willing to end its
existence because of the damage it knows that it could cause. And at the very least, that
That deserves a moment of respect.
Dorn takes a hard breath.
You can see him kind of biting his tongue.
My opinions on the defensive capabilities and protective qualities of the Vodendat has not changed one iota.
Nor has my faith in the DORBS or the peoples of Silvery Moon to ultimately as long as possible use its power correctly.
it's just, Doran, you must understand, that's what I thought it was my power to claim and my power to offer.
And I've realized now that was never the case.
Dajadras chooses to use the power of the voted Don as she sees fit.
And if she wants to see that power put to an end, I, none of us have a right to stop that.
I'm starting to think that it'll, for the first time it'll be a long.
long time, I'm speaking to someone, if not much more intelligent than me, certainly wiser in how
to use the power that she wields.
Hmm.
Well, I'm, I'm sorry about that, with it, that must have been tough.
I know you, you spent a lot of your life idolizing that thing to see it, to see it without a
light must be something truly difficult to see coming.
It is the light within Thvonandad, indeed, that I think is the true treasure that I never expected to find.
The mighty form is the obvious part of what makes this work of art so impressive, but the intelligence, the mind within.
That is the spark that would be the real shame to lose.
So is that it then?
that
sacrifice that spark
for the sake of
the safety of Féroon
Oh no, Tamil, not at all.
Huh?
Oh.
And this seems of course a complete contradiction
of what he's just been saying
and with this confidence
of someone with a plan
Widditt says,
I haven't done all the dabbers yet
as he pushes his goggles
up on the bridge of his nose
but he spreads out these blueprints
and that's where you realize
he did seem to have sobered up completely,
but now he is a little drunk
because he's laying out these blueprints.
Timula is, like, quickly trying to move tankards out of the way.
What?
Take this, take this.
No, scoot that out of the place.
Get out of the way.
The armor is helping me spread out the blueprints,
and it's just making a mess right now.
Yeah.
What but the hell is this?
What are you talking about?
When did he even have time to make these?
Did Wim sign that by any chance?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'm glad you ever.
when I wasn't using my full move bit during the battle.
I was kind of sketching out.
I had plenty of microseconds to sort of run some secondary numbers here.
I had subroutines running on Bessie.
I had that what bonus action.
Don't worry, plenty of time.
You see the robot, like, punching the field, and it zooms in, and he's just quietly.
It was like tea.
He's, like, drying bluepines.
He's got an abacist, so he's like...
As I'm doing the Tony Stark fighting, I'm also doing the Tony's like,
hey, rotate that 90 degrees.
Let me look at it again.
Now we're talking.
What the hell is this, blueprint?
What is this?
I don't understand.
It's purely theoretical.
It's purely theoretical.
But if I'm understanding the current flow of galvatic energy
through the mind core at the top of the voted dot,
and if the spine in particular works the way I think it does,
then we can make clamps here, here, and here,
and it'll do exactly what we need it to do.
So.
Whim looks at red with her eyes crossed.
What is it that we need it to do?
What? I'm missing this. What's galvanized mean?
Timil.
Timil shrugs.
Oh, I thought you could tell just from the flow of the arcade ions that it would be obvious.
We didn't speak to us as though we haven't had years of arcane artificing training.
We're simply going to take Najidras, the mind, and we're going to place it within an equally interfaced and structured intellect core.
well, namely that of Bessie.
What?
You can have put Nautotros in Bessi?
It just so happens I have such a structured core already installed here.
Well, that's...
She'll already know how to work most of the motors and everything.
There's a great number of parallels.
I think it should work out just fine.
Hey, hey, you old so-and-so.
That's brilliant.
That's a big commitment.
Red gets up and, like, throws his arms around Witted.
Yes, moving in together.
That's quite a commitment.
We have so much in carbon.
I don't see how this could go wrong.
Hey, I knew you could solve this problem.
Doran slaps you on the back to.
Wow.
Tammil, like, puts a hand on Widd's shoulder and then, like, over his head,
looks over at Red and starts waggling her eyebrows.
Little Vaughn and Dodds popping out.
And then that will leave the, I mean, the body in it, no longer a threat, I suppose.
We could reprogram it, we could make it, you know, its own machine.
And Doran's like got his own plans.
He's mumbling to himself looking off.
Dorn and the removal of Dodgerdras will largely render Voted Dodg-en-a-enable to function.
Yes, yes, yes, yes, of course, of course, I understand what you.
of a surpassable intellect,
the Voted Dodds material form will never operate again.
What does Nogradas want to do with the old body, as she said?
I'm not sure that she has a strong opinion on it necessarily,
but I could ask her and certainly she would want it to be not misused.
Right.
Right.
Wow.
Witted.
That mind of yours, Red runs over and kisses your little bald head.
I don't really...
But...
Ah, Doren, don't worry about it.
It's a good thing.
And And And Drodras gets to stay where she belongs with someone who can truly appreciate her.
And the Von and Dard...
Can...
Armour can...
Hell, it could be a museum.
It's big enough to house one.
A museum?
Yeah, you know, it's a place where you look at things.
A museum?
Look at things.
I'll explain it to you later.
A museum.
Hmm.
Doran, you look as though you're about to explode.
Just whatever you're thinking, just let it out.
Just say it.
Oh, why do you...
If you're going to put it in a museum,
why don't you put it in Citadel Feldbar?
Let the dwarfs out of it.
Let us use the shell at least.
Come on.
Oh, God.
I need some fresh air.
And Dorn kind of stomp's off out of the bar, you know?
I'll go talk to him and read the bar.
gets up and follows.
Witted, great work.
I'm sort of a loss for words.
I felt inspired, Temeel, ultimately, that what you all taught me,
helped me learn how to operate the Vododod in ways I couldn't have imagined.
My technology teaches me how to operate machines, but I've never been good at working
with people.
and when the voted on turned out to be a person,
it turns out sometimes the best teachers
are the ones you least expect.
I would agree.
And I think that Red and Doran,
once they are finished with their little council,
would probably share the sentiment
that you have taught us much as well
about assumptions and cynicism.
Wim signs
So what now then for you?
Well, I've just made the biggest discovery of my career,
and I don't think I'm ever going to top that, honestly.
I've got people I should probably meet with in this city, honestly.
He kind of looks around like that's a weird thing for him to say,
but I'll be honest, the people I care most about are right here.
So, I mean, as far as what goes forward,
he looks around at the celebration.
but then looks back at Wim and Tameel,
and then suddenly you notice from his armor,
he's almost like the armors have been under the table
and slowly setting something up.
And in one maneuver, he produces the dragon chest set
and sets it on the table and says,
I don't want to pull you away from the whole party,
but I don't think we've yet decided
who's teaching who the most about dragon chess.
And I think we've got a score to settle, Tabil.
Your move first.
and he's got one little, like, arm emerging to, like, get ready to move the piece.
And, like, he's waiting to see which piece she moves first.
I cannot think of a better way to celebrate our victory.
Although, um, we did...
As impressive as this entire situation with Nantadras is,
um, I cannot express my gratitude to you for what you did for my sister.
Um...
I will forever be in your debt.
And if you need anything ever, you only need ask.
You see, Witted almost won't make eye contact.
His hand keeps moving towards one of the pieces.
Like he's like, no, no, no, I'm focused on the game.
I'm focused on the game.
And you do see a tear building up in his eye, and he blinks it away.
I found myself surprised that I reacted the way that I did.
not what I did, but how quickly, reflexively I did it.
I think I just always assumed I was the sort of person who wouldn't do that for other people.
And learning that from you, the debt's settled, Tamil.
It's always settled between us.
I think Tamil is welling up as well and might be just kind of comfortable in the kind of unspoken part
of the connection that they are, they're kind of building here.
So she'll reach out, she'll take one of the pieces,
and she'll just start her opening gambit.
Oh, big mistake, big mistake.
Right, right, right, all right.
We'll see about that.
Meanwhile, outside of the bar, Red catches up to Doran.
Doran's stomping down the street, kicking stones and debris on the ground
as he chugs back another tanker.
Oh, come on.
All this way, we do all this work.
Hey, hey, hey, hey.
Only to what.
Don't.
Don't.
Give it all away.
Just give it all away.
What's going on?
Oh, Red.
Come on.
Are you kidding me?
We're just going to hand that shell over and put it in the garbage?
Throw, just throw it in the trash bin.
Sure.
Yeah, that'll work.
Because, you know, Adam Antine just biodegrades like that.
I don't think anyone was advocating for the thing becoming, you know, trash.
I mean...
Well, then can we take it to Cededadelfeldpar?
Let the dwarves have it.
Come on, Red, you can do this with me.
You and me will drag it back there.
There will be a big warm ceremony.
I can hear the songs now.
Right, okay, but look, I mean, let's play that out.
Let's say we do.
We bring it back there.
And let's say, miracle upon miracle, they piece it back together
and they put the machines and the cogs in,
and somehow they get that thing working again.
It might be a hundred years, Red.
Right.
But that'll be a hundred years of glory for the dwarfs.
Forbes and free ruin.
Right, right.
And do you remember when we ran into Captain Kasshammer the first time out in Jalenthal?
Yeah, of course.
What were they doing?
Roaming the countryside.
Right.
Roaming the countryside and doing what?
But that's not what I'm talking about.
I'm talking about using it, you know, for our own means.
Do you think the Jallanthar dwarves thought that they were doing good?
Ah, he takes a big gulp of beer.
Look, they saw a problem.
Giants were terrorizing the land, and people weren't doing enough to stop them, so they took it upon themselves.
And they did a little bit of good.
But they also got powerful pretty fast, and that good started to turn into destruction,
taking people out of their homes, killing innocents.
and we had to step in and tell them that despite those good intentions they were doing a lot of evil.
And I know your heart's in the right place, Doran. I know it. I've known you long enough.
You and I have both have our missteps, and we've both made mistakes.
I don't know what the best thing to do with that shell is.
Hell, leave it in the field, let you grow old with age and cover and grass for another generation to camp out in.
Who cares?
The important thing is,
something of that much power
is only ever going to be sought after
by people that will end up doing more harm
like you and I have seen time and time again.
Dorian downs his beer as he's looking down the alleyway
and as he turns back to Red,
you can see his eyes are filled with tears
and he's sobbing.
But Red, who's that machine that took Jack?
Come here, buddy.
Hey, hey, come here.
Red hugs.
That's just, that's the deal we make when we enter this crazy world.
I know.
Jack did as much good as he could.
Yeah, I know.
He and I butted head sometimes, and in the end of it all, he was a good friend.
And he'll be missed.
Maybe the best thing to honor our friend is to leave that thing in a
field the way he would have wanted to dig it up in 10,000 years.
Let it become its own archaeological dig for some other nerdy wizard to dig up in the future.
All right, buddy, you've had a few too many.
Red slides the beard.
As the two of you are embracing, you hear a familiar voice.
Red, Doran?
It is you.
And you see a shape coming from the shadows
He's holding a tankard of ale
A familiar Duregar
Alistair
You old so-and-so, get over here
Wow
Do you have a tissue for Doran?
Oh yeah
Well isn't that a familiar face
And you pans you a tissue
I was hoping I'd run into you
What the hell are you doing here? Last time I saw you
It was up in the Grey Peak Mountains
Yeah
Yeah
It was getting too real for you, and you left to head back to Loudwater.
What the hell are you doing in Silvery Moon?
Yeah.
Really couldn't fit into my old life stuff that's built for a rock gnome does not fit a Doregar's body.
Let me tell you, and I made my way to the coast and was just looking for a place to land.
I ended up in water deep, and, well,
Captain Hanlar posted a call to arms
in defense of silvery moon
with your insignia at the bottom
Hey
I knew that I had to come and help out
I mean if it was something that you guys thought was a good cause
then
thank you for saving my life
No thank you for coming
Last time we saw this guy door and he was
This was everything he wanted to run away from
And now look at him and red hair hits him on the shoulder
You came all the way up here to fight the good fight.
I'm so proud of you, Alistair.
Thanks.
Is Mari with you?
Uh, no.
No, she, uh...
Well, she...
Jack passed away and Mari left.
Yeah.
But hey, we got some new friends to introduce you to you.
Come on back. I'll buy you a drink.
Come on.
I'm still drinking that elf beer.
Thank you for what you did for me, but I don't...
Oh.
I'm gonna go back home.
home. Are you sure? I think I'm destined for some smaller story than what you guys are writing.
Hell. Take care of yourself. You too. So long, Alistair. Red gives them a big hug.
And we head back to the bar to sit with the others. All right, I've come to terms with it.
I don't know why with the way you said that. I just, I pictured that kid from that old video,
he's like, apparently
I'm
apparently, you know the
apparently kid?
Yes.
I pictured during coming back
like standing squat.
I came to terms of it.
Apparently people really want
the Vonen and Dodd to be decommission.
Apparently it's a very dangerous weapon.
Apparently it's
probably not a good idea to keep to sit around.
Yeah, exactly.
It was a personal thing.
Apparently it would be better just to bury it.
So maybe we can do that.
Whim's been keeping a tally on like a little scrap of parchment.
Oh my God, who's winning?
Yeah, you guys both rolled D20.
Oh, man.
Yeah.
Did roll a 17.
Oh, 17.
That's good.
14.
No.
Oh, no.
God, I'm getting an edge.
Yeah.
In between moves, Wim keeps picking up one of the like lost pieces.
You know, someone loses the pieces.
Someone else she keeps picking up the same piece.
And she's like got the quill and ink from her tally.
And she's like doodling like a little face on him.
Proving them I see.
Just a little pawn.
Red stretches as he sits back down.
Oh, well, still a lot more world out there.
Obviously, the giants still need to be taken down.
And I think we made a deal with those orcs that might need to be followed up on.
And hell, what the fuck was with all that shadow shit at the, uh, in the woods.
But either way, I'm really glad we're going to be doing it together.
I agree.
Suddenly, the lady Kimara Laylithar appears at your table.
This time, in an immaculate, dark gray shimmering gown with a long veil that covers her face all the way to the floor.
Her expression is solemn.
The corners of her elven mouth turned down, but otherwise composed.
Good evening.
I was unable to gather any additional information from the drow intruder.
Unfortunately, the temple's clerics were otherwise occupied
in giving relief to the defenders of the city.
The corpse had passed beyond usefulness by the time I met
with the appropriate clergy with enough reserved energy to serve my needs.
Remind me again what she told you.
Oh, well, just that there was a plainer presence, sort of,
that there wasn't just one but two parties that wanted the shields to the city down,
although we don't know why, right?
Redster looks at Tamil's like, that's what she said?
I believe so.
I also think she referred to her a god or whatever as a she.
I don't know if that helps you.
Is it she or a sheep?
No, it's a she, you're right.
Thank you.
I trust that you will continue using your gifts and talents in the defense of Féroon.
There are still many hordes of giants
using the excuse of the ordaining
to inflict suffering on the people of the land
and a bare few with the knowledge and inspiration
to stand against them.
With Duke Zalto vanquished,
you have struck a mighty blow to the heart of giant-kind.
But beware, for news of your victory will spread
and you may find that your next opponents
anticipate your challenge.
Red stands,
Miss Lady Leilother,
on Jack's life I swear to you
that I will not stop
until the ordaining has been
Wesselwood, revealed, answered, fixed,
Salte, salt, conquered, thank you, conquered.
Doren slams the hills of his axe
onto the table and he stands upon his seat.
Same here!
And he nods at Red.
She offers you her fair hand
read, thank you again for giving your loyalty and friendship to my son. He spent the years of his life
in conversation with a history. I think he was desperate to be a part of, only to miss out on the
future. He will live forever in my memory. And mine.
And mine. Probably in some books, too. I'm not going to... Yeah, a lot of books. He had a lot of
Lady Laylithar excuses herself from your table.
And now the night is grown long and I will to bed.
Congratulations again on being the heroes of our city.
May your names be long remembered by all her citizens.
And as night deepens around the bar,
the candles burn low.
And Kamara is seen leaving.
She sweeps quietly through the city, past the neighborhoods you liberated from goblins and ogres,
making her way to a quiet alley.
She slips into the shadows and descends a flagstone staircase to a bare wall.
She looks over her shoulder, only for the briefest of seconds,
before her delicate fingers draw a strange symbol in the air,
a dark symbol of wispy purple smoke and unnatural,
green light, and then before her a door appears.
Not a door you would expect to be in the home of an elf of Lady Laila Thar's status,
or any elf, for that matter.
A door of shadow.
And as she steps through, she's greeted by a small dungeon-like room,
adorned with strange sigils and mysterious oddities.
Her gaze washes over them briefly before landing on the corpse,
of the drow woman, revived, and chained to an iron throne.
I told you everything I know, I told you.
The drow woman pleads as Lady Laylathar circles the throne.
There's no more to tell. It was Rayelle.
She came to me, she paid me.
Shh, shh, shh.
The lady says, hushing the drow.
I know, I know.
And I have checked to make sure you told the truth.
You?
You checked?
She nods a comforting nod.
Our business is concluded.
As the realization dawns on the drow, her usefulness at an end she puts...
No, please, my lady, I can still be of service, I beg you.
You do not know what is coming.
The lady stops.
An almost satisfied smile creeps on her face as she turned to the drow.
I don't know.
Fearfully, the drow, stammered Zedden.
No, no.
To which the lady turns.
Her gray veil seems to burn away like paper singed to ashes,
and as it does, her face underneath changes.
The illusion dissipating like smoke,
a current of air kicking up her dress,
billowing out now in silky cream,
and revealing the shadow visage.
of rail herself.
No, dear,
it's you
who doesn't know what's coming.
How did we all get so ginormous?
Let's go back to Appletown.
Timil, I didn't know you could fly.
What do you mean you don't know where we are?
And now I've got two cannons for arms.
Ah ha ha!
They've shaped magic missiles.
Whim opens her mouth to speak for the first time,
Ed.
Cut to black.
And tune in to my spin-off show,
Young-witted.
It's a sitcom.
It's a sitcom, actually.
You know, I can't help but feel like reading the names of the Patreon supporters
is becoming longer than the episodes themselves.
So I'm going to try something a little different here and use some magic.
We would like to thank our Patreon supporters.

I'm gonna go lie down.
We'll see you next episode, bye-bye.
Well, I don't think there's any reason to beat around the bush here.
We've reached the end of the time in which we could kick this can down the road.
That's a lot of weird, like, fucking aphorisms.
Jesus, here we go.
I don't think we can delay this conversation anymore.
The story kind of stomps off out of the bar, you know.
We are in a tavern, right?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
We were sort of on the outside of a tavern, like a patio.
He can stomp off.
He stumps into the tavern, and then he stumps out the front door right by us where we're
sitting at the patio watching with a full tanker to veil.
I need a door to slam.
A familiar voice.
Jack?
I mean, shit.
No, not that.
No, family, no.
I don't know.
I mean, it feels done to me.
That's kind of way it felt like it to me.
That's why I was like, doesn't want him anymore.
I mean.
Gorkin!
The party mascot that we've had with us the whole, I love the idea that we have just like
The stupid thing we just dropped.
Is that a made-up one?
If so, you got me.
I was like, no way there's been a fucking gork in this whole time.
It's totally made up.
