Burn your mother alive, Doran.
Fred, shut up, shut up.
You're really able to make it awkward at any moment, aren't you?
Yeah, except he's the police, so he's correct.
Not like this, not like this.
We'll talk about this later if we all survive.
I said, hold on.
Like, I'm on my way.
Who sent you?
Not the potatoes.
Oh, by the hammer of more, and why couldn't you been Gaultier?
We make it in time?
Oh, God.
Why you didn't get to see it?
Let's make a mess of this carpet.
Yeah, I just, I just like to tap.
You guys can breathe in our water, right?
That's like a class thing for me with some mess.
I can wrestle a ring off of Jack, yeah.
Sure
Welcome back to
This is Season 2, Episode 86
A Game of Two Haves
MVP this week is Sunnyside Stote
Who just made it to episode 100
And is on our Discord
Congrats, Sondyside Stote
I hope you continue to enjoy
Dice shame.
Season two is, well, only 50 episodes away.
Shall we play some D&D?
Yeah, let's do it.
Woo!
Ha ha.
You're standing in Doreen's bedroom.
You're standing over his mother.
You just realized that Gautier was potentially responsible for the deaths of
brothers. There's a palpable tension hanging in the air and the five of you look to each other
to figure out what your next move is. Darin, are you okay? Redd, I think I'm going to need your
direction here because I'm about to boulder through that door and slaughter that guy. And I don't
know if there's anything going to stop me. Take it easy, take it easy, take it easy. Look, look, look, look. Let's
think this through. Gautier
has Doreen
here. He's put her under a curse
but until we can get
into the hands of someone that we can
prove that he's guilty,
killing him is not going to be
smart, Doren. You are a wanted
man. You need to stave your
blade. Look, look, look at me.
And he grabs your face and makes you look
at his face. They want you
to be the killer.
Do not
play into Gautier's hand.
No matter what he says, no matter what happens, you need to keep a calm, cool head.
If you, if you go off the handle, Doren, none of us are making it out of here.
And that includes your mother.
You're right.
And as you look at Doren's eyes, he's got these, like, they're bloodshot, both from crying, but also of pure rage.
Like, the bloodlust is coming over him.
And he says, you're right, you're right, you're right, you're right.
I need to think straight
Redd you've got the best
listening of any of us
do you hear anybody else in this house
any direction any movement
if you're putting your ear to the ground
what do you sense
I don't know let me hear
and I'll do a perception check
you don't hear anything
moving around in the house
I don't hear anything moving around
okay so
that gives us maybe a minute to think about it
maybe we just go out and look for them
Every minute longer we spend in here
feels like everything's just going to close in around us.
Doran, like, moves for the door where Red is
and grabs for the handle.
Doreen holds out her hand to you, Doreen.
This is my home, Doren.
This is our home.
What's your plan?
Look, I think we need to go out there.
If Gautier is here, we need to confront him with this.
We do have evidence.
We just need to be smart about it.
So long as you can keep calm and Doreen can attest to his intentions and his actions,
then we should be fine.
Yeah.
I don't know how the judicial system works in a Dwarven city.
Like, is there someone to appeal to if we get Doreen out of here?
She's primary witness to this.
We've got as much evidence as we can gather in this room.
If we can get the hell out of here, is there someone to take the evidence to?
or is Gautier as Chancellor sort of beyond reproach?
I mean, he's not the Dwarven King.
I'm sure there's other people here.
Even the Captain of the Guard would listen to reason.
So Doran knows that Scarborough has a specific political structure.
The Chancellor is not the pinnacle of the government of Scarborough.
There's a mayor, which is basically the tippity top,
and then three positions below him.
so there's a chancellor and then two other dudes,
one of which you would potentially be able to talk to who's not Gautier.
You could take your concerns to someone like that.
Gautier as chancellor, though, is in charge of, like, defense.
So potentially he would be the person that you would typically go to with, like, law issues.
Yeah, except he's the police, so he's corrupt.
Yes.
Let's go out and take a look
And be quiet about it
Dorian, you stay here
Okay
Yeah, Mom
I'm not gonna leave you
And just
You know what
I'm also not gonna kill him right now
But
God, he's made my blood boil
Then he turns back towards
Yeah, you might want to get that checked
The Doran
Your eyes shouldn't turn red from anger
Doren
It gives you this dirty look.
Just never heard of a figure of speech.
I'm telling the truth.
Mari's just sort of quietly pushing right out the door.
Quiet, it's true.
Doran, you open the door into a hallway that's just to the east.
There is a door leading to another bedroom just to the north
and a door to the south that would go into the kitchen area.
And I kind of like tell my companions about the layout of the home because I, you know, I used to live here.
The one end of the hall is the kitchen.
The other end of the hall is like a study.
Yes.
So there's like a workroom slash forge sewing room area at the back left.
Right.
You have a home forge?
There's a study.
The back right.
There's four bedrooms.
And then there's like a kitchen and then like a social.
eating living area.
So through that door is the
living room and through that door
is the workshop. I'm thinking
maybe we just split up.
No, don't split up. Look, let's just take a
look out the door with the windows
at the front of the house. See if there's anyone out
on the street. Well, actually, let me stop you there. I think we should go
and look at the back because there are no windows
and there's no other entrance.
If he's back there... I look at the front of your house and there was
about six windows.
There are windows. Trust me.
I almost tried to break into one.
I'm saying in that back room, if he's back there,
then we don't want him coming out unknown,
and there's no other exit in that back room.
I just want to see who's out front.
Maybe we just walk out the front door.
Sure.
Let's go look out front.
Alistair, maybe you could stay and lock the door behind us?
Okay.
And Alistair, if anything bad happens,
ring your special bird call ring.
Oh.
Fred, shut up, shut up.
Yeah, I didn't get one of those because,
I guess Maury's like...
Just make the sound of a Whippoorwill.
Do you know what a Whippoorwill sounds like, right?
Hoo-hoo-hoo!
Sure.
It's close enough.
We'll talk about this later if we all survive.
And Red heads down.
Wow, Red.
You're really able to make it awkward at any moment, aren't you?
It's called humor.
I injected into the episodes so they have more flair.
Red cracks open the door a little bit.
And I just want to see if I can't look through the windows.
Cool, cool, cool.
Red, you crack open the door towards the kitchen.
This is the front room at the east of the house.
And you realize something terrible.
Okay.
Uh-oh.
We love it.
Which is that Doran's house is on fire.
Oh.
Oh.
There's a lot of flames in this kitchen,
mostly currently engulfing kind of a side pantry area
as well as a kitchen table,
spewing a lot of smoke into the room,
and the fire is crackling merrily as you stand and watch.
I feel like Red then shuts the door again.
Takes a very long pause, stands up, turns around.
So, I have some news.
The entire front room is on fire.
Okay.
What?
But there's good news.
Is there anyone in there?
that's the good news there was no one in there jack rushes through the door towards the fire
jack what are you doing haven't you seen back draft literally made of water
Jesus Christ and Mari runs it after him
idiot pull out the opal of the old room which allows me to tame fire
and put out a 10 foot radius of fire and so I can do that one or two times and I think
get most of this kitchen cool really hope there's no fire between us and the escape
I mean, Mari sort of sees this and is like, well, all right.
Like, again, I'm still made of water.
She's, like, mumbling to herself.
And I'm going to cast Create Water, which gives me a pretty large cube of water.
I get 10 gallons of it.
Wait, didn't we learn something about it?
You know what, Red just heads back in the hallway and shuts the door.
They have this under control, Doran.
You know, it's kind of nice that they do.
Jack, as you and Mari put your efforts together, you are able to douse
The majority of these flames, they're licking around on one of the carpets, there's soot smudges all over the walls.
Water just everywhere.
Anywhere that there's like a little fire, like Mari's just squeezing her hair out over it?
Yeah.
The embers.
Yeah.
It's a disaster in here, but you don't think that this room is in any danger anymore.
However, Red, as you move back towards.
where Doran is standing in the hall,
you hear the frantic...
Help!
Help! Help!
Come from Elister, from the room.
Red pushes into the room.
What's up? What's up?
As you re-enter the room,
Doreen is bleeding all over the place.
No!
The bed spread is covered in warm and blood,
and Elister seems to be wrestling with something that you can't see.
No!
Everyone roll for initiative.
Mari, would you get?
I rolls in 18.
Red, would you get?
12.
Doran.
It's going to be an unnatural 21.
Whoa.
Unnatural, though, right?
Alistair rolled a four, just so everyone knows.
You roll that a lot.
Jack.
Six.
Oh, no, Jack.
You die.
Yeah.
Yeah, well.
Oh, no.
You'll last.
Yeah, you die in a fire.
another fire just shows up and you're too slow he punches you well I had a good run he slips on all the water so sorry yeah and banana peels more people die in fire than from giants every year it's true if you can more wizards more wizards for sure so I'm so soft smash cut to this like wizard like in his like study it's very quiet the candles there and he's just like oh oh oh no no no no no knocks it over
Put this over there with the rest of the fire.
Oh, nope, uh-oh.
It's really comical, terrible wizard just burns alive.
Top of the round, Doran Iron Fist.
Does, uh...
I don't think we have a sea invisible.
I have a seeking arrow,
but it only works if I've seen them in the last minute.
Let me just see if I have anything else.
And then just while I'm looking,
the wand of burning hands...
We'll burn down your mom's house.
Burn your mother alive, Dorn.
You should start some more fires.
Please.
You hear a murder in the back.
I'm going, please do not start any more fires.
Don't listen to her to it.
Doran pulls his axe out as he comes into the room and sees blood over the bed and he sees
Elister struggling with something and my mother is bleeding on the bed and Doran with great vigor
attacks the empty space between Elister and my mother with full force coming straight
down over top of my head.
So make a role to attack.
with disadvantage because you can't see whatever
it is that you're attacking. Oh, fuck
me! First attack's going to be a 12
to hit. No, you missed.
Having missed,
Dorn is going to pick a different spot
then to re-attack. So having
missed that spot,
Doren heeds
his axe up into the air and brings
it down on another part
of the bed avoiding his mother and
Alistair. Oh,
well, it doesn't really matter if I roll
the same number.
And that's going to be a 17 to hit.
You miss.
17 to hit misses.
If there's not something in that square, right?
Oh, right, right, right.
Okay, that's my two attacks.
It's like mine sweeper.
Yeah, it is.
Yeah, pretty much.
Mom sweeper.
Oh, that's good.
Cool.
Yeah, he grinds his teeth together and his eyes fill with rage again.
Mari, it's your turn.
You're standing in the kitchen, having just sluiced,
the place with water. You hear the commotion coming from the bedroom down the hall,
but you also perceive that there is further smoke leaking out from the door to the pantry.
Yeah, she can hear the commotion happening in the background and knows that stuff is going down
in there, but also knows that if things continue catching on fire, this will not go well.
also she runs over to the pantry and pulls the door open.
Okay.
Is it on fire?
It certainly is.
Oh, God.
It's on fire, yes.
Smoke going.
Yeah, amidst the shelves of crockery and potatoes, there are some, there's some blaze happening.
Not the potatoes.
Fire potatoes.
They're baked potatoes now.
Oh, nice.
Oh, there it is.
There we go.
And she casts create water again to try to put that,
out, which is, I think, overkill for this size, basically just fills the entire thing with
water, like creates a big giant, like, cube bin and just shuts the door. You can just sort of
hear it be like, as it settles behind there, it pours out underneath the door frame. And she
turns and she starts to head back towards the door that heads into the hallway up to the
words of the bedroom, because you can hear all the commotion going on and knows that it is probably
a disaster in there. Cool. I can basically go back to where I was standing. So, rock and roll.
Right. Next up, the monster turn.
Let's see what you got there, invisible monster.
Doran, you feel a slash as a sword pierces through your ribs.
Would you roll?
Doran, you take 33 piercing damage.
Make a constitution saving throw.
A 22.
So you only take 21 poison damage, which because you're a dwarf.
So 33 plus 21?
Yeah.
So, but because you're a dwarf with your poison resistance, I believe you only take 10 poison damage.
That's right.
Excellent.
It's going to attack you again.
Oh, my God.
Does the 19 hit you?
Does not.
Does not hit you.
Okay.
So the second attack does not hit you.
Oh, now hold on.
Hold on.
Reposti.
Before anybody else goes.
I said hold on.
Shut up.
Pins to hear, everyone.
When a creature misses you with a melee attack.
I'm going to use my repost.
Nice.
Repost.
Okay, roll to hit.
Holy shit, man.
What did you get?
Oh, fucking 13?
Aw, dang.
Oof.
Yeah, you don't think you stabbed anything.
Or you don't think you hit anything with your axe.
God damn.
Red, it's your turn.
Red seized the scene before him.
Dorian!
No, Doreen!
Red runs across the room to Doreen, and he's going to cast cure wounds.
Excellent.
Oh, good call.
I'm going to cast cure wounds at a level three.
Cool.
Doreen gains back her 20 hit points.
Well, that's what I'm worried about.
It's like, cool, well, you healed her eight, and that's it.
She has.
Come on, four if she's a commoner.
Back up at 10 hit points like an old woman would.
So Doreen heals 21 hit points.
Hell yeah.
As Red sort of rubs his hand over her chest and says, come on, Doreen.
Not like this, not like this.
The blood stops spurting.
from the wounds in her neck and side
and she looks up at you with gratitude.
You got this girl.
And Red hands her a blade.
Give her a gun.
Yeah.
Give her the wizard staff.
Goer the gun on it.
Give her the glock that no one's been using.
I forgot that were artificers.
And Red shoots his eyes
with a angry expression.
towards the vacant space of the room.
And I am going to roll perception.
I'm going to try to hear.
I'm assuming there's nothing on the ground here
that would sort of leave tracks.
It's just stone floor.
I mean, there's a low pile carpet.
Yeah, yeah.
And a lot of blood.
Red makes a quick guess.
Is it more likely that he would hear or see the culprit
based on the description of the room?
Probably hear someone.
Then Red is going to roll perception to hear.
Okay.
And I'm going to use my inspiration.
Nice.
Because this is where the beans matter.
22, as Red tries to listen for the movement of this creature in the room.
Red, you hear a noise from the north half of the room,
but you're not able to pinpoint exactly where the creature is.
He's in the north half of the room.
And I think Red as a bonus action is going to become invisible.
Two can play at that game.
Ultimately, if that guy hits me for how much he hit Doran, I'm down, A, which is not helpful.
and B, red is an opposing force to this fucker.
So red just going to go invisible.
Excellent.
And I'm going to move.
I think I'll probably stand maybe, I don't know, behind the door or something.
I mean, you could definitely block the door to make sure that no one leaves.
So red will stand in the most advantageous place, which is in the top northeast corner, I guess.
Jack, it's your turn.
Jack draws a knife because that's all he's got and he's got some stony skin on right now.
but he's sort of frantically looking around the kitchen.
Is it obvious what's setting this place on fire?
Fire.
Like is there an accelerant?
Are we seeing Maltov cocktails?
Are we seeing, is there any clues as to like what caused these fires?
Okay.
Role investigation.
14.
Oh, that's a bad role for you, Jack.
It wasn't great yet.
If there was evidence of something happening in here,
you and Mari washed it away quite thoroughly, unfortunately.
But you do notice that there is further smoke leaking out from the door that would lead to the front door.
So there's definitely more fire happening in this house.
I'm going to leap over the burned ruins of this table and make it towards that front door and open it up.
Jack, as you reveal the entryway you see that the door opposing you is on fire,
is the floor.
I stick my hand into my pocket again
and make sure I've got hold of that
Opel of the Ild run
and again just wish this fire would go out.
And with your powerful wishes, it does.
You use the secret wish spell
that was stored in your ring one time.
Yeah. You blew the wish spell on that?
No!
I got 10 more feet of movement.
Can I open the second door as well
just to peek in this room?
You can, Jack.
Yeah, I step forward, peek in this room.
the other room? Yeah, you
reveal this lovely
social eating
area.
There is smoke leaking
from the door to the northwest
but there's no fire in this room.
There's more fire this way. I'm going to go check it
out. I yell back to Marie.
Seems pretty cool.
Neat.
Can you handle or do you need help?
I can't see it yet. I'm just seeing a smoky door.
I'll get to it in a minute.
Like, I'm on my way.
I'll yell if I need help.
oh boy two minutes later help i'll be dead before 30 seconds don't worry we jack has a trajectory
and we're shooting we're shooting straight into the ground yeah yeah uh oh boy um it's elister's turn
he looks around the room frantically and with a vicious roar
Oh.
And then he reaches over the bookshelf and pulls an axe off the wall.
Hell, yeah.
Mari's like, well, who's this?
Murray, we're going to think for Big Elister.
Like, Big Ellister.
No, thank you.
Yeah, she's like just here for a big boy.
It's like Hulk.
Hello, is there a Mrs. Hulk?
You know what?
I think he does.
So that's his action, and then he interacts with an object, which is free.
He's going to move through the room because he's so big now that I think if he moves through a space,
he's going to find them, right?
So he's going to move north, and then as he starts to move toward you, Red, he hits an invisible creature in this space, just beside you, Doren.
He's here! He's here!
He's just to your north.
That was going to be my next guess.
That's perfect.
Marvelous.
Okay.
Top of the round, Jack, as you are looking in through this sitting area,
the door to the northwest goes up in flames.
Shit.
And Red, you begin to smell smoke from the door beyond you.
Doren, it's your turn.
Doren's not paying any attention to the fire
because next to him, Alistair, has pointed out where this invisible being,
is. And so with as much enthusiasm as he possibly could have, I'm going to turn and ask my friends,
can I call a friend? Yeah, hey, Harlan here, what's up? It's one of your lifelines, though.
Do you think that a 15 will hit? No. We got one taker for a re-roll, anybody else?
I mean, you've got other attacks, right? I do. Should I use my luck on this, though?
I might write it out to see if a 15 hits.
Let's see what happens.
I'm going to go with it because I've got a second attack in my back pocket.
Let's see if a 15 hits, does a 15 hit.
The 15 hits.
Oh, yeah.
There we go.
I like a gamble.
I love it when I gamble wins.
How much damage you do?
Oh, right.
That's the next part.
That's the second part.
I just like to tap just to know I could, you know, tag your end.
Excuse me.
Hello.
It's going to be eight points of damage.
Ooh.
Does that reveal them, though?
Yeah, Doren, as your axe sinks into this creature's side, there's a shimmer of light.
And as blood spurts to the floor, the illusion drops.
Nice.
Beautiful.
You're going down, fucko.
Standing between you and Elester, there is another.
Duragar.
This is a regular
sized Duragar.
Not hot.
Do you have inspiration, Alex?
I don't know.
Well, now you do.
Congratulations.
He's wielding two twin
short swords
and red.
This fucker looks like an assassin.
He's got the look of someone
not to fuck with.
I know that feeling.
Dorn's going to attack again.
Cool.
No disadvantage necessary.
Couldn't come out a better time.
It's going to be a 22 to hit.
You do.
Nine points of damage.
Doren's again gritting his teeth.
He's even more furious that it's not just Gautier.
Hoping to kill this bastard.
He's put them all in this position.
God.
By the hammer of more and why couldn't you have been Gautier?
tear. She says as he slashes into this Durgaar assassin. Mari, it's your turn. You're standing
alone in the kitchen. Marie's just watched Jack run into the other room and yell something.
It doesn't sound good. What's it like at the door behind her? Is that starting to get smoky?
The door leading north out of the kitchen is the door that leads to the hallway off of which
Dorian's bedroom is located, there is black smoke coming from the crack underneath the
door. Oh, no. She has this horrible flash for a moment in her mind of the bedroom going up and
Red and Doran being trapped. And Elister. Sorry, Elister. And she runs over the door and pulls it
open. All right. I assume it's fire.
We've got fire.
Hell yeah.
And tell us what's behind door number one.
It's more destruction.
I'm going to show you the fire that you can see down the hallway.
There are 15 square feet of fire at the north end of the hallway creeping down,
dangerously close to the bedroom where Doreen used to sleep.
And additionally, the office at the rear of the house,
from what you can see through that burnt out door,
seems to be engulfed in flames.
Jack, it's back.
Jack, it's back.
Yeah, Jack,
Jack is back.
Burning down the hallway on a back.
Burning down the house.
There we go.
Oh, God.
Please someone help us, Marie.
Find in fire with fire.
But not fire.
But don't do that.
ditches and burn through the iron fist.
Slam in the back of my derogar.
Jack, we got more fire at the back of the house as well,
and she just takes off running down the hall,
and I'm going to cast Cretewater again.
What's the range on that baby?
30 feet.
So where's the locust of the spell?
I mean, I can create a 30-foot cube of water.
It's bad for everybody.
That's probably too large.
It would kill us all.
That's 60 feet.
That's a 30 foot radius.
I won't let fire kill you.
I'll kill you.
God,
yes,
sorry.
If we can't live,
you're all drowned.
Anyways.
You could entirely fill Doreen's bedroom.
I have decided to turn into an aquarium.
Yes.
It's time for swimming.
It's to keep you safe.
Swim losers.
You guys can breathe in our water, right?
That's like a class thing.
Corps have kills.
Yes.
I can wrestle a ring.
off of Jack, yeah.
Sure.
I can fight him for his ring.
Give it to me,
it's my process.
All right, Mari, what you do?
I'm going to cast it
at the end of the hallway, basically.
Like, trying to push
as much water down that
hall as possible.
She concentrates and everything
begins to sort of shake around
where the spell is, she's focusing
the spell and water starts to just pour
up from the floor and just pull.
upwards. Cool.
This anti-rain
extinguishes the
vast majority of the fires that you can
see, but there's one little guy at the end
of the hall far away that you didn't
catch. Damn, you
get back here. Plus,
based on the amount of light coming from the room,
there's a bunch of fire you didn't see.
Oh, man. Yeah.
It's always about the fire you don't
see. That's right. You know it is
the problem. Yeah. If this fire
continues to spread, you
And you and Jack are going to have your hands full keeping a lid on it.
But for now...
You know, it turns out we could always be firefighters as a different career.
Well, you could.
It's the assassin's turn.
He's going to disengage as a free action.
He's going to fucking peace out.
Good luck.
Whoa, where's he going?
He's leaving.
Yeah, no way.
I'm blocking the door, remember?
The door is closed?
Yeah.
Cool.
Bro tries to run at it and I fucking close line him.
Goes to the door and just like, boom.
Well, he's going to...
Let me out.
He's going to try to open it.
We're going to have a strength contest.
Oh, no.
Do I get advantage because I'm invisible?
I mean, I, I, I, I, I, I, it doesn't make you stronger.
No, but he doesn't realize I'm holding it.
I don't know.
No, I don't think so.
I don't think you get an advantage on that.
The dice could be in your favor here.
This could, I mean, the dice will be in my favor.
All right.
Oh, not bad.
18.
Okay.
Against my 10.
Oh.
Yeah.
It is stronger than some.
As I think it does work to your advantage that you're invisible.
He's like, is this door champ?
What's going on?
Yeah, so he gets as far as the world.
I love the idea of this assassin trying to run away and getting stuck at the door.
That's cute.
And then he turns around and looks at the room full of angry people and starts to try to pull the door faster.
And he can't get it.
Oh, is he like actually just trying to piece out?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Cool.
Okay, well, that changes the tactics.
Red, it's your turn.
Red's standing directly next to this guy.
He doesn't know I'm here.
I got a weird idea.
So, hear me out for a second.
I'm directly next to this guy.
He doesn't know I'm here because I'm invisible.
And I have a set of manacles.
Okay.
Interesting.
I like your style.
Just for those of us that aren't 100% sure.
Handcuffs.
Those are handcuffs.
Like old-timey handcuffs.
Not me.
Not me.
Manich.
Why could you have a pair of mannequins with you?
Why do you have manatees here?
Aren't they're just big giant mammals?
I actually have two sets, funnily enough, but...
One for his hands and one for his feeties.
Well, I was actually thinking even stupider than that.
I was thinking, like, slap one on mine and then him, like, handcuff him to the spot.
Just so that he couldn't get anywhere.
But I could manacle his little feedies, which I do like better.
Okay.
That's fun.
Red sees the Duragar standing next to him.
He holds his...
breath as the Duraghar frantically tries to open the door.
And Red, looking to the room and seeing this assassin try to escape, drops down to his
knees and reaches into the bag of holding to pull out a set of manacles that Red
has had since probably Jallanthar, if not earlier.
And using sleight of hand, he slaps them around the Duragar's ankles.
Roll with advantage because you're invisible.
Oh, yeah.
21.
Yeah, you do it.
So as Red slaps these manacles on,
I mean, that will at least make it less likely
that he's going to run away in, you know,
head butts everybody into submission.
We at least get the jangly chain noise
if he goes invisible again.
I mean, I don't know the rules about running in manacles,
but I can't imagine it's...
I'm going to rule it as difficult terrain.
It would have to be harder than that.
He could still move 30 feet with manacles,
six seconds, that's crazy.
I feel like it would have to be like...
He's so swift.
He's shuffling like he's got like his pants around his ankles and he's got a poopie.
And Red pantses him just to add in the whole.
Nice.
Perfect.
Cool.
So Redd, you put these manacles around his ankles.
Yeah.
And then I stand up and I think Red grabs him invisibly because it's invisibility he's going
to wear off anyway.
And I think Red just like as intimidating as he can appear out of
nothing, grabs the man, holds him up to the door, and says, who sent you? And red light
appears in a moment. Hopefully that aids to my intimidation as well, because that's pretty
scary. Cool. Roll intimidation. Do I get advantage or no? Neh. 17. He stammeres. Goatier.
What? What are you to do here? What will he task you with? I'm to kill Doreen.
Why? Jack, it's your turn. Yeah, Jack.
dashes through the living room that's on fire and flexes his fire-tamer abilities,
calming the flames as close as he can get to him.
So, Jack, you charge forward into the flames, and as you move into the space, what, you just have
this aura of...
Yeah, as Jack charges across the room and into the hallway full of fire, and as he approaches,
the flames seem to, like, nod to him and then flicker out and die into whips of smoke
and then just charred remains as he moves his way
through the rest of the Iron Fist Palatial apartment
doing his best to make sure there's no more fire
and, you know, that the whole place isn't any more danger of burning down.
Yeah, the flames sizzle and hiss
and black soot marrs the walls, this stone building.
A lot of the furniture seems like it's been burnt to a crisp,
but you are able to subdue the flames in this west wing and Mari as she heads down the hallway
she pauses for a moment at the door to uh Doreen's room to sort of see if maybe she can hear
something or anything like she doesn't know what's happening in there and I like to imagine that
like that's just at the moment where she hears like red like slam that guy against the door and
be like who sent you or whatever and
Where are the other drugs heading?
Who does number two work for?
Oh, man, I wish that movie was more quotable in 2024, but it's really not.
Well, there's like one or two things and the rest of it.
It's of an age.
Like she sort of like puts her hand at her, like it's like she can feel this body hit it
and then she kind of pulls her hand back and keeps moving down the hallway.
And as she enters this back room and sees it all on fire.
Again, she sort of just closes her eyes and sort of closes her fist,
and the water starts to pull out of the ground and shoot towards the ceiling again
in this sort of reverse rain that puts out the fire from the ground up.
Beautiful.
And between the two of you, Jack and Mari, the fires that threatened the Iron Fist Estate are quelled.
Meanwhile, in Dorian's bedroom, as Elester shrinks back to not hot size,
No, no.
Mari didn't get to see it.
It's not just for you, Mari.
Oh.
Red and Doran have this assassin cornered.
Red pushes the guy under the bed next to Doreen and looks to her and says,
Are you okay, Doreen?
Yes, I'm fine.
All right.
And Red snaps his eyes back to the assassin.
Go to your sent shoe.
Who do you work for?
I'm not at liberty to say
spit it out
or I'll cut you through
If I talk about my employer
I'm as good as dead anyway
Where is Gautier?
He told me to take care of Doreen
And then he left
He heard you in the house
He heard us
What did he hear? The extent of it
Just that you were here
He said you were coming
And then when he realized that you had gotten
In past him he told me to kill her
all right well that gives us an advantage he doesn't know you failed yet and he doesn't know that we're
all still alive including dorin dorin clenching his his side where he's been stabbed and he's slowly
bleeding he stumbles towards the assassin and he um he goes now listen
i think you should come with us because you know what we're going to need some eyewitnesses
Now, hold on. We'll definitely need some eyewitnesses, but Red turns back to the Duragher, and he's like,
after you completed your mission, where were you to meet Gautier?
We never made that clear. I probably would have gone up to his house.
All right. And Red turns to Doren.
This gives me an idea. Dorn, come over here for a second.
What are you thinking there, Red?
We have an opportunity here.
I haven't used my disguise spell yet.
We cut to Gautier's house.
Gautier opens the front door himself to see the Duragar assassin and a captive Doran, his hands in manacles.
The assassin is carrying Ork Splitter casually across his shoulders and he roughly pushes Doran inside.
Ah, cousin, it's good to see.
Well, I thought that I might see it down in Scarborough, but I suppose circumstances change, don't they?
Come on inside.
Yeah, and Doran, with his hands cuffed in front, gives these fire-filled eyes.
Gautier leads you to the side room, this, like, sitting area where you had spent a nice evening last night.
Goetier gestures to the area of the room in front of the hearth, cold now, and the Duraghar assassin moves you into the room, Doran, and pushes you to your knee.
Please, Gautier stands there above you looking down.
I've been waiting to have this chat with you for a long time, Dornan.
I'm sure you have.
And he looks down in his cuffs.
You've done it, Gautier.
You've got me where you want me.
And you've managed to eliminate my mother in the process.
You must feel very proud of yourself,
having killed an old defenseless woman.
me corrupt despicable
goetier cuffs you across the face with the back of his hand
your mother couldn't keep her fucking mouth shut dorin
all was going on and on with gossip and accusations and suspicions
she was meddling where she had no right to be
and i paid her a visit to clear the air between us
but she flew off the handle at me
She called me a monster
Ranting and raving
Like the senile old crone that she is
Was, I suppose
You expect
Someone like me or my mother just to sit quietly
On the sidelines
While you manifest your
You know, you should have known
dealing with an iron fist
That we weren't just gonna give up
And and...
But here you are, Doran
Giving up or not
you've already killed several of my men at arms you have wounded several city guards evaded capture by
impersonating officers and who knows what other crimes here you are now tell me why why did you do it
why hire an assassin to kill me why kill my mother why the big ploy to put an end to my family name
why the big effort to end my bloodline is it jealousy can't make a name for yourself i had brothers you know
goetier takes ork splitter from the duregar and hefts it in his hands ignoring you at first dorin he spins the handle
this weapon really is a thing of beauty dorin i said it yesterday she's seen
In better days, of course.
In fact, her glory is
terribly diminished in hands like yours.
Work Splitter is a hero's weapon,
and you're nothing even close to that.
You're worse than unworthy of her.
Such a shame, but not for long.
Why would I be trying to do away with the iron fist line?
I'm sure it's been haunting you.
all these years, Doran.
The sound of your little voice echoing off the rocks,
calling after them.
Gorin, Lauren, where are you?
I suppose with the end being so close, your time being so nearly finished,
I should give you the rest of the picture.
I was there that day, tagging along behind the three of you,
like I sometimes did, watching.
Wondering what the sun of that affection would feel like, play in my own games.
A pretty trinket I found cast the darkness that separated ye from Lorne and Gorin.
But it was still your own neglect that lost them in the depths.
Make no mistake of that, Doran.
I was merely the catalyst.
You.
You are still a terrible brother.
But I'll out and say it, since we're finally here together at the end.
I've always fucking hated you, Doran Iron Fist,
though we were never really playing at the same game until just late.
But ever since your whore mother got involved where she wasn't meant to be,
well, I don't take kindly to that kind.
a game. Unfortunately, I won't be able to keep my promise to her, where I'd kill you first and let her
die, knowing that the blood of her lineage was all but bankrupt. But I suppose things just happen
the way they're meant to be. Gautier, hands, ork splitter back to the Duraghar assassin.
I suppose it's only fitting then that this axe is the one to take your head off.
you're too afraid to do it yourself, Cotier
You always were
The spoiled little cousin
That couldn't take losing
You couldn't stand it so much to the point
Where you actually went
And my poor brothers
And now you're going to hand this axe
Of a warrior off to an assassin
You're pathetic, Cotier.
Come on. If you're going to do it, why not just do it here?
Let's make a mess of this carpet.
Come on. Take my head off, you wimp.
Give me that.
He grabs the axe roughly back from the assassin.
Doran, he walks over to you slowly with a smile plastered on his shit-eating face.
And he goes to put his boot on your back to make you lean.
forward on the carpet.
This rug
is worth more than your pitiful life.
Gautier
raises the axe above his
head and he says,
But I'm still gonna enjoy this.
And then he swings.
Doran rolls out of the way.
Ork Splitter cuts through the air
and with a loud clang bites into the stone.
And he stands up immediately
dropping the manacles by his side
and kicking Gautier
so that he loses his balance
and goes tumbling
in the kerfuffle
Doreen grabs orc splitter
and easily retrieves it from his grip
Assassin! Assassin! No!
Gautier!
The assassin stays unmoving.
Goteer is taking a step back
and then another step back from Doren
who's now armed and unfettered.
You lost this game five steps again.
Cast a quick look over his shoulders
towards the door when all of a sudden the assassin grabs him from behind.
Not so fast. He's still got some things to say to you ugly.
Doren swings the axe around and he raises it above his head.
And he looks at Gautier right in the eyes.
No, Doreen, no, I can explain.
There is no explanation that'll save you now, Gautier.
No, please, anything. I'll give you anything you want.
Gold, riches, power.
And just as he's about to bring the axe down,
He says
There's already been enough blood spilled
You can rot away in a cell for all I care
And he brings the axe down by his side
Red is the assassin
Pushes his Gautier out the door
We make it in time
Oh, you made it in time
You're just about to see a hell of a show
We got the mayor in the whole council
We just ran so much
Far he's a completely out of breath
It's a long way out of town
For a chancellor
They're too seriously complacent.
What the fuck is going on with them?
Doran just closed this on.
You know, it doesn't matter.
It's quite the scene in front of the Gautier Manor.
Jack and Mari lead a gaggle of onlookers,
people of note and council members from Scarborough.
Neal, you Jack.
The crowd parts to reveal Doreen.
She's being supported by the mayor,
who takes her arm and brings her to the front of the crowd.
Doreen looks over Gautier's head, beaming at you, Doren, with pride, at a plan well executed.
And then her eyes look down to this kneeling, disheveled figure of Gautier Brighthelm, her nephew.
And she slaps him across the face.

The party stands in Doreen Iron Fist's bedroom after having...
removed the cursed ring.
What do you do next?
It's the worst intro ever.
I was like waiting for more and I'm just like, oh my God.
Why don't you just add another sentence?
I mean, the first sentence was great.
Well, maybe we can help Joe out here.
What was the last thing we did?
Well, let Joe give another crack and then you think of the meantime.
Give her a little to work with.
Where were we last?
She knows what to work with.
