I am going to attack the blind guy.
Go somewhere where you're not going to get hit by a sword.
There's a theme music playing in his head.
It's Harry Potter.
I'm trying!
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
What do you mean, get them?
Doran, suck up the ghost.
Don't breathe it in.
Ha, ha, ha.
What is this?
Wind?
I'll try.
Oh, hey, Jack.
Hey, Red.
I'm giving this music the axe.
I'm not a cat.
I'm a fox, you fuck.
Sorry, guys, it's a natural one.
Get out.
Oh, shame.
For shame.
Oh, you know what?
I already shamed this die.
I'm just going to roll another one.
Welcome back to Dice Shame.
Episode 87, No Love Lost.
MVP this week is Camaro 76, who's been hanging out with us on Discord.
Nice getting to know you, Camaro.
Happy Pride Month.
We just wanted to take a moment and say that we love and support all types of people from all walks of life.
We aim to be allies and friends to anyone and everyone who needs it.
Find ways to show your support, whether it be through checking out a new queer podcast
or sharing your favorites with others.
Get out there and be proud of who you are.
All right, let's do it.
Let's do it.
So you bust in through the tower doorway, freeze frame style, painting a very dashing
mental image, I might add, very heroic.
And you see a small group of people standing around a family.
feasting table one of them zolkin seems to recognize immediately kella darling what have you done with the place
and then he looks around like he's expecting a bunch of people laughing and what a pleasure it is to see you my dear
and it's such fine company i'm sure ladies gentlemen i am zolkin alisandar good evening to you all and he does like a stupid bow
what a surprise it is to find you all here in this moldering tower kella sweetheart
Those letters look absolutely ravishing on you.
My, my, my, my.
And she's, like, nice to see that you're alive.
However, I have no intention of being led around by the nose again, Zulkin.
I found a new path.
The Zentharum be damned.
And I quite prefer my odds this time, too.
I love the naked ambition, the zeal.
Nothing more fabulous than a woman who knows what she wants.
Kala.
Our first betrayal.
Literally the first one.
Yeah.
Ooh.
Didn't she?
I've got a foggy memory around this one.
She shot you with a poignant dart and nearly killed you.
I barely remember her.
Well, now that makes sense.
You were dead.
I thought it was Carla.
Carla.
Isn't it Carla?
Then one of the other people in the room,
someone wearing dark leathers and scale mail,
pulls off a familiar helmet.
I thought I recognized you.
You're the meddling fool who interfered when we contacted the cloud giant.
And he turns to his followers.
These people are responsible for months of setback.
And Yon Thee Bin's great displeather.
And if I'm not mistaken, that fox is carrying my bag.
Come take it from me, you're a freaky bird person.
Get them.
Oh, no, you don't.
Oh, no, you don't.
Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, what do you mean?
Get them.
These are my traveling companions, my associates, my friends, my hirelings.
Friends, Zulkin, just say it.
Not best friends, but friends.
This is why he's not the night's done for.
Kell is like, and if you want a shot with me,
you'll help me pledge myself to Navan and the howling hatred
by throwing their corpses off the pinnacle of this tower.
Zolkin just shakes his head, and he's like,
not cool, darling, not cool.
And he draws his sword.
Hey, Zulkin, you don't need to shut up anymore.
At the first mention of Get Them, Doran dives into the room doing a rolling somersault and is now on one knee, one foot, and he's got his axe up.
Just ready to go?
Yeah.
I don't think Jack ever fully enters the room beyond the doors.
I think he's sort of standing in the doors.
And when it's clear, it's going to get violent, he sort of ducks around them, scrambling in his pouch to find the right tools.
Everyone roll for initiative.
Red, what do you get?
19.
Doran?
Three.
Kralath.
Eleven.
Hey, it's above a ten.
Kralas going before Jack.
Look at that.
Jack?
Seven.
Okay, top of the order.
Red.
Hey.
Woo!
What do you do, Red?
Red looks south to where the wall is partially collapsed, and he's going to move that
direction, jump over it to use it as half cover.
Great.
And then he's going to attack.
Now, I know the guy whose bag I'm holding.
holding is here. And Kella, between the two of them, which one looks more intimidating?
Probably the guy whose bag you're holding. Does he have a ranged weapon?
Once you roll perception. Actually, your passive perception is 20. I was just a bit to say. A long bow is
definitely something I can see within 15 feet. Nope. Doesn't look like he's got a ranged weapon.
Kella had a crossbow when we first met her, so I'm guessing she does.
Kella does not have a crossbow on her right now? Let me put it this way. Does anybody have a
ranged weapon. Yes, but I don't
want to use it. Not you?
Jesus Christ. Oh, so you're talking about them.
I thought, I didn't know if you were...
Orc splitters can be ranged if you throw her.
I didn't know if you had some other idea
in your mind. I'm only trying to figure out who to attack. That's awesome.
Let me tell you a little bit about the combatants here on the field.
Kella, Dark Hope, obviously, we are all
well familiar with. The man who you know to be
Navon does not have any ranged weapons.
He's kind of a slender little guy.
There are three kind of nondescript, we'll call them rabble, cultists.
They're all wearing their cultist helmets.
And then we have another person.
This is a female.
She's got a flute at her side.
The three rabble, they all have spears that they could be throwing at you.
So those are the only ones that you can see straight up that have ranged weapons.
Okay.
I feel like this episode has some serious asterisks.
Refer to episode number.
Like that comic book kind of.
Yeah, yeah.
I like it.
Red's going to look at the one who has the flute, and he's going to say,
kick the mage, everyone.
And he's going to attack her.
I'm going to cast fairy fire on her.
Okay.
So I'm going to expend a slot to ask her to do a dexterity save against the spell D.C.,
which is 12.
Not bad.
That's a dirty 20.
Okay.
So she's still fine.
17 to hit?
That hits.
Nice.
Let's do it, Red.
One turn, one and done.
Kaboom.
Yeah.
25 damage.
Nice.
She takes all that.
And I'm going to attack again.
Let's do it.
This time with Colossus Slayer.
13 to hit.
No.
The woman, colossus, colossal.
She sort of ducks behind the feasting table and your arrow.
Twong.
Just lodges itself deeply in the ancient wood.
Damn.
And I'm just going to, yeah, duck behind this cover.
Take out the mage, Doren.
And I nod again to the flutist that I just shot at.
Please.
Reverse commander's strike.
Really?
No.
It's not commanded.
I'm just, I'm waiting for Joseph's.
Well, no, I thought, did I miss a command that you got?
I got some new maneuvers in there.
So Nivon grimaces and draws his great sword from the sheath on his back, runs forward, runs forward, and attacks.
Krala.
He's going to make two melee attacks against you.
What's your AC now?
Do you know?
21.
Nice.
So one of them hits with a 23.
Oh, still.
Clanging off that beautiful Water Davian armor.
It's an antique.
The Griffin is still fully embossed.
Belongs in a museum.
13 slashing damage.
And then the second one, you deflect off of your gorgeous, gorgeous armor.
Jack flinches.
But you're going to say face.
The first one I deflect off my gorgeous face.
Yes.
That's right.
Not so much of a deflection.
Fleshly deflected.
Two of these cultists run at you, Red, and they leap over this broken wall to land on either side of you.
Bring it on.
They both attack you with their long swords.
does a 19 hit you?
Yes.
So one of them on one side hits you
with the long sword
and then, ooh, that other one misses you.
So you take total six slashing damage
from the one long sword.
You are fairly occupied now.
The other one runs toward Kralath
and takes a swing at him, why not?
22 and 19.
One of them definitely hits.
So with a 22, he hits you two-handed with this long sword, and you take 10 slashing damage.
Kralath, it is your turn.
All right, Kralath is going to cast blindness, deafness.
Ooh.
On the mage?
No, not on the mage.
Oh.
On Kela.
And am I able to see one of the guys down to the south?
Yeah, you can see the one to the south of red.
to the north of Red is a little bit obscured by this column of a staircase.
Gotcha.
Okay.
So then, yeah, as a level three, I'm going to cast blindness, deafness on Kella and then
one of Red's attackers.
Okay.
And they're going to have to make a constitution saving throw, both of them.
We'll take care of Kella first.
That's a five.
Okay.
Nice.
And do I get to make that save every turn?
Yes.
At the end of each of their turns.
And the one to the south of Red gets an eight.
So both fail.
Nice.
Kala just emits this shriek.
My eyes!
My eyes!
Reverberating laughter.
I said, get some sun, not look at it.
That's all I can do right now.
I'm going to try to continue to draw their attention, these two in front of me.
The woman who is cowering behind the table
pulls the flute to her lips and begins to play.
and the air in the room begins to swirl around this central pillar.
And she summons into being this creature made of swirling wind.
It appears directly behind Zulkin.
Oh!
And it attacks him with one of its arms that's made of like this dervish.
It tries to slam him to the ground.
Hits him once, dealing 14 bludgeoning damage.
Jack, it's your turn.
There's a whole crew of people gathered around outside the doors,
and you are hiding on the stairs.
Not hiding, but I didn't enter fully into the room.
Yes, my skin is made of stone, and I've, you know,
but I'm feeling sensitive to dying recently.
No, that's fair.
I don't know why.
It's not like you had Kralath have died a hundred times.
Doreen, you're after me, right?
Mm-hmm, mm-hmm.
Who do you want to, what's your thought?
What do you want to do?
I'll tell you what I was going to do.
I'm going to go for the mage.
Keep the mage.
Is she constantly playing, or was it a summon and done?
She's summoned, and then she put the flute down from her lips.
Bummer.
Looking through the doorway, peeking my head around, I point to Zon's wand at the
mage and say the words required to grease up that square real good,
such that hopefully she falls on her ass and,
gives Doran advantage.
Okay.
Does she immediately make a save, or is it on her turn?
Both.
When the grease appears, each creature standing in it must make a deck saving throw,
and that DC is 15.
10.
Nice.
She slides, slips and slides on this grease.
Additionally, Jack ducks back around the corner, sort of like, Mission Impossible
Agent style, wand in both hands, ready to sort of figure out what he's going to do next
when he peaks back around the corner.
Such a bad eye.
I like, there's a theme music playing in his head.
It's Harry Potter.
Fancy himself a Tom Cruise type.
Zulkin's turn, he pulls out his long sword and just starts chopping at this air elemental.
Because why not?
Ooh, that's pretty decent.
22 to hit.
Go Zulkin, go Zulkin, go.
And a 30-20.
Go, ninja, go.
Two hit.
Nice.
Chop.
chop chop chop for 10 damage each hit not bad zolkin who i not bad cut up zulken where to do it he just stands there
with his sword at the ready kind of breathing heavy don't breathe it in no breathe it in dorin sack up the ghost
it's it's kella's turn she's like scrubbing at her eyes trying to get rid of this poison or whatever it is that could be impeding her vision
and not knowing that the ground in front of her is covered in Greece,
she's going to sort of blindly walk forward,
knowing that there's a table ahead of her to try to steady herself.
She walks toward the table and grabs hold of it,
and as she does, she enters the grease that is on the ground ahead of her.
Dexterity save.
Making a dexterity save.
Natural 20.
Well, she's deft.
I think she's fine.
She grabs hold of the table and then spends the rest of her turn trying to blitz.
link this blindness from her body that's at a con save 15 oh that saves damn it so she spends her turn
recovering from this blindedness i feel like she's like Daniel stern and home alone she's like
standing there feet are kind of going dorn so dorin turns to this mage that's blowing her little
flute across the table and he says i'm giving this music the axe
And he jumps onto his stomach sliding under the table and attacking this mage as he comes sliding, I guess, through the grease.
Using the grease to your advantage.
I am really using the grease to my advantage.
So Doran from underneath the table swipes at the mage.
Great.
Roll with advantage because she's prone.
Excellent.
Excellent.
Excellent is a good one.
It's definitely a thing.
Come on, you liked it.
26.
Oh.
To hit?
Yeah, that'll hit.
17.
Yikes.
Okay.
Slashing.
On my second hit, I do hit with a 28.
Nice.
Way to go.
And then doing 17 damage.
I hack at her again while she's on the ground.
Fuck yeah.
Putting my axe into her back.
Yeah.
Is she done for her?
No.
I'm going to use my action search.
Hey, oh, 22 to hit.
Nice.
Yeah, that hits.
Oh, doing seven damage.
Good stuff.
So that's a 23 to hit.
Nice.
doing, oh, come on.
Seven.
Between the two, pretty good.
Seven damage.
She is rolling around in blood and grease.
All right, top of the round.
Red, you have two of these cultists who have been hacking at you with their swords.
There's an air elemental in the room.
And you see Doran rolling under a table doing some serious damage with his axe.
What do you want to do?
Go back to your cult, Ned.
Red looks between the two.
One is blind or something.
right?
The one to the south of you.
Is he going to have reaction if I move away then?
Probably not.
He won't be able to see you.
Perfect.
And I am going to move.
And I'm going to move my full movement, 30 feet.
Mm-hmm.
So the one who can see you as you leave his threatened area is going to swing his sword
at you and misses as you scamper away.
Ha, sucker!
I move 30 feet to the north and spin around, and I'm going to peg.
The blind guy.
Does it affect anything?
Do I have advantage or anything?
Yes, you have advantage.
I am going to attack the blind guy with advantage.
Go for it.
And none of these guys have been damaged, correct?
Correct.
You know what?
For a bonus action, I'm going to cast Hunter's mark on the blind guy as well.
23 to hit?
Oh, absolutely.
Nice.
Well done.
26 damage.
Yeah, you get him right in the shoulder.
And I'll attack him again.
Open your eyes for this, you bastard.
With a 14?
No, I'm sorry.
Damn.
I guess he did.
Nivon rubs his hands together and he says,
This do the twick.
And he waves his hands in front of him.
And he starts moving just a little bit strangely,
almost like blurred.
He disengages.
and then moves away.
So that's what Navon does.
He casts a spell on himself and then GTFOs.
Uh-oh.
It's the night's turns.
More like the days.
More like the cultists.
So these cultists continue to try to attack you.
Kralath, the one beside you is going to make some attacks with its longsword.
Okay.
Both of them miss.
Like nothing.
Hey, pling plong.
Ha!
I like that.
Pling plong.
Red, the one that you escaped is going to chase you.
He vaults over the top of this ruined wall and tracks you down.
Hits you twice, potentially.
The first is a 17?
That matches, so that will hit.
And the second one misses.
Fuck.
That's nine slashing damage.
Yeah.
And then the blinded one who's been hit by.
He tries to do the same.
Runs the wrong way.
You got this, buddy.
He tries to recover his eyesight.
That's a 19.
Oh, yeah, that's fine.
He's okay.
Dang it.
Kralath, it's your turn.
Well, you ate up some valuable turns.
Yeah, for sure.
Kralath is going to cast spiritual weapon right next to the mage.
Who's still prone, right?
She is.
Yeah.
Beautiful.
And as my spiritual scythe appears behind this,
mage that's on the ground, it's going to take a slash at her and does it have advantage because
it is right next to her? Yeah, she's prone. Beautiful. Natural 20. Oh, holy shit. Wow. Look at
Greek the mage. Geek the mage. That's my first natural 20 in a while. Yeah. We're well-d-do.
Scyth appears, swings down at this unprotected mage. All right, so that's 2D8.
You roll all of your dice twice.
All right, so we got 10, 22 points of damage.
Nice.
What does it look like when your scythe murders this woman?
Yes.
So the scythe just appears, it rises out of the ground,
this ethereal mist surrounding it as it rises up.
And as she's lying on the ground,
she looks up just in time to see the scythe slice downward right on her neck.
She disappears.
As...
Gross.
As a bonus action, I'm going to cast my sacred flame on Navon.
Cool.
Light that.
Grease.
Da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da-da.
Navon has to make a dexterity save.
Four?
A four.
Then he is going to take three radiant damage and...
Hopefully make a concentration check on that spell,
whatever he's got rock in there.
Oh, hey, that's not bad.
Very smart.
Yeah, he's fine.
Or half the damage, so it has to get over one and a half.
All right.
And then Kralath hears Red fighting from behind the stairwell,
and he's going to start making his way that way.
He circles around this longsword guy,
and he's going to go back and take the attack of opportunity from the guy.
with the long sort.
Seven.
Nice.
That's a miss.
Ping.
Nice.
You're too fast for this guy.
It's a pong because you did a pling,
plang now plong.
So I'm going to get up right next to Red.
Get behind me.
Yes, please.
Or something.
Go somewhere where you're not going to get hit by a sword.
I'm trying.
It's a struggle.
Jack, it's your turn.
What do you do?
Yeah, Jack peeks his head back around the door,
sees this cultist with their swords and spears,
sees Kella over in the grease,
and Nivan back in the corner
and there's this fireplace on the far wall
and there's this moment of like
let's light this up and he throws a
fireball right towards it to explode
and blossom and he's goose it with all
the alchemical jazz he can do to
make a big boom.
Big badaboom. 20 foot radius?
Yep. You're Jack Page.
Fucking Jack Page.
I was going to say alchemist, but I really meant
archaeologist. Alchemical jazz
musician. Alchemical jazz
musician. Magical, jazz musician.
Magical, not.
nonsense. Gold from iron. Yeah, he's, so he ducks his head around the corner, sees the, sees the
fireplace, throws the thing into the fireplace, and then moves back around the corner, wand in
hand to be like, you know, secret agent again. You're not a secret agent. Cowering agent.
Adventurer. Agent Jack. Good thing around the other side of that wall, eh? It's like he planned
it. So, Nivan and the cultist, uh, who took the swing at Kralath, both save, and Kella fails,
She's fumbling around in this grease.
32 damage to anyone who failed and 16 damage to anyone who passed.
As a big explosion lights up the room.
Kella's clothes are on fire.
Her hair is on fire.
She's just like desperately patting out this terrible explosion screaming.
Her flesh is like melting, but she's alive.
There's this moment before Jack ducks back behind the door where he says,
Kella, let me get that for you and pulls the geyser of water out
and blasts her.
Ice cold.
The decanter of endless water
and is a bonus action
blaster to try and knock her
onto the feet.
Wow.
Nine, she fails.
She takes 1D4, bludging damage
and falls prone.
On the grease.
On the grease.
God, she is like a home alone villain,
eh?
Whip, whip, whip, whip.
Set on fire, blasted with water.
Oh man, Jack's even like got one in both hands.
You've got decanter in one hand,
wand in the other.
He's ready to go.
He certainly is.
Should make the decanter your arcane focus.
Cut out the middleman.
It's Zulkin's turn.
Zulkin attacks this air elemental twice with his long sword and misses.
Damn it, Zulkin.
Zulkin?
Nice on four again.
Kella's turn.
She picks herself up out of the grease and moves back away from it for half of her movement.
Then she reaches down into her boot and pulls out a dagger.
She throws it.
at Doran.
Oh.
She misses, and then she pulls the other one out of her boot, and she throws another one.
19 plus four, but we'll add two to your AC for your partial cover underneath the table.
So does a 23 hit you?
Yes.
Okay.
So, Doran, you were going to take a lot of D4s.
Bring it.
Maybe it's poison damage.
Oh, it is.
But it's going to be halved because I'm resistant to poison.
But you're not resistant to knives.
No.
I have knife resistance.
Not yet.
She gets some of the stone skin.
You take seven piercing damage and six poison.
So three poison damage.
Ten altogether.
Cool.
And that's Kellos' turn.
Doran, how do you respond?
Doran underneath the table decides that he's going to turn around and attack the air elemental.
So he kind of pulls him.
out from underneath the table, stands up and approaches this thing in a standard battle stance.
It's shoulder to shoulder with Zulkin.
And he takes a giant swing at the air elemental.
That's a 25 to hit.
Yeah, you do.
Nice.
Eight damage.
Great.
And on the second hit, 15.
Sorry, 25 to hit.
Then absolutely.
Yeah.
Slightly different.
14 damage.
You pack at the almost incorporeal body of this whirling air dervish, and it howls in pain.
Red, it's your turn.
Red steps out from the gentleman before him, the cultist, and he's going to take attack of opportunity by stepping away from him.
You sure are.
You know, you know how this works now.
I know what's up.
Ten.
Miss!
And I'm going to kill the guy that I already attacked.
That would be a 16 to hit.
It does.
Wow, I rolled well.
36 damage.
Whoa.
What does it look like when you kill this guy?
I pull back on the arrow and Red says,
let's keep you blind and he fires the arrow as it sings across the room and
thunk straight into his eye as the guy falls over dead.
And for a second attack, he's going to turn to the guy he just disengaged from and he's going to attack him.
Nice.
The one right beside Kralath.
Correct.
For a bonus action, I'm going to move.
move Hunter's mark towards him.
And that will be a no.
That'll be a nine.
No, you miss.
Damn.
No.
Narrowly miss Kralov.
No.
Sorry.
And Kralov, he lifts his visor.
You should not him or me.
Sorry.
Shunk.
Nivon responds to this fireball
by dashing across the room to
behind where this
grease fire
is burning. He whispers a few words and into the space where you stand, Jack, pass these
open doors. The air up from the stable starts whipping around in a circle up through this
spiral staircase. And another air elemental pops into existence beside you. He's right there
being a whirlwind
Like you do
Being really scary
We're not in Fayrune anymore
This air elemental then
Jack tries to pick you up
And throw you
Make a strength saving throw
To resist the whirlwind
I rolled a fabulous number
Plus my fabulous strength is one
Oh no
I rolled a two
So it's not quite shameable
but it's on the border.
Oh, my God.
Jack, this air elemental picks you up in a whirlwind
and throws you down the stairs.
Oh, no.
Oh, Jesus.
You take 17 bludgeoning damage.
So there's this big crater at the bottom
and a puff of smoke as Jack's skin like really solidifies gray.
The stone skin comes to the surface
and it's just like stone on stone.
And then you take three,
bludgeoning damage just as you hit
the bottom of the stairs, which is one
bludging damage. Wow.
That is cool. You know, I had a
cinematic view when you said that your skin
turned to stone, then you went tumbling down, so it's
like stone on stone. I just had this view of, you know
how like rocks hitting and
breaking off? You did some damage.
I picture it with all the stairs you're hitting
there's like a few shots of just like the
dusty knicks of stone
coming off your skin.
Almost at the same exact
time. The other
Air Elemental that's in the room
that Zulkin
had been fighting with just
picks him up as well
and does the same thing.
Zulkin fails his strength save with a
seven and the elemental
throws Zulkin 20 feet
across the room. Zulkin
no!
Zulkin takes
15 bludgeoning damage
and then
another five
so 20 bludging damage as his body crashes to the ground.
Get up, Zulkin.
So he gets the breath knocked out of him
and as he picks himself up off the floor,
you see he's missing a couple of his teeth
and he's like bleeding out of his mouth.
Oh, gross.
Next up, it's the cultists' turn.
So Zulkin is still lying prone
where the Errol Elemental threw him
and the cultist standing over him
stabs down with advantage
with his long sword, hits him once.
I guess Zulkin rolls out of the way for the other hit,
and he deals a paltry four-slashing damage.
The other knight moves strategically around Kralath,
trying to close the distance between himself and red
without provoking an attack.
And then he tries to slash at Kralath.
Oh, a Kraloff?
A Kralath?
Coward.
Oh, nice.
Bok, bach, bach, bach.
Caltist.
But misses you with a 16.
Yep.
Yeah, so both of his slashes just clang off of your heavily armored body, and you deny him a chance to hit you.
Kralath, it's your turn.
How do you respond?
Well, Kralath uses his scythe to attack.
Kella.
Okay.
Instinctively reaching out and,
ooh, that is 21 to hit.
Yes.
Nice, nice, nice, nice, nice.
And we got nine plus three,
12 points of damage.
Again, this scythe, bloodthirsty,
carves the life from this woman.
She slumps to the ground.
So as I am instinctively bringing this scyth over her body,
Kralov has a flashback to Kella's dagger sliding between his ribs and him falling to the ground.
And for a moment, he's filled with a surge of anger.
But then something comes over him.
And at the last second, he pulls the piercing quality of the blade to blunt it a little bit and just pull the blow so that Kella isn't completely killed.
But she is unconscious.
Cool.
And you hear Zolkin cry out,
Kela, no!
Oh, I see.
What do you want to do with the rest of your turn?
You got a whole other turn.
Skiar him, buddy!
I got the whole thing, yo, with my mace.
I try to, I'll try.
And I hold out my mace, and then I cast sacred flame on him.
Cool.
That's a 15.
No.
All right.
You missed.
I miss.
He saved it.
Careful, buddy.
I almost singed some of my fur.
My bad.
Jack, it's your turn.
Jack stands up his stony body,
starting to take up some momentum
as he, like, thuds up the steps.
And when he gets right to the top of the steps,
he explodes in thunderous energy,
teleporting himself across the room,
but in an explosion of wrath and fury
trying to catch these two air elementals
in a thunderstep.
So an 18 and a 16.
So both of them save.
Yeah, which makes sense.
So half a 36 is 18.
Then I've got a bonus action left,
so I point the decanter of endless water at Navon
and say, Geyser.
Ooh.
And try and blast him with some water.
Strength saving throw, right?
That's correct.
DC 13 for this one.
No, that's a 12.
Hey.
Boom, on his ass.
Right in front of that sithe
to get, I forget when he acts compared to the sithe.
He goes before.
knocked right off his feet he takes two bludging damage as he is swept away it's zolkin's turn he pulls himself to his feet and holding his long sword in both hands he swings at the cultist that's standing above him with fury one of them hits not bad deals ten damage dorin it's your turn so dorin's standing in front of this era elemental and he sees this
flash of thunder go by and he's like
oh what the hell was that and all of a sudden jack appears
at the end of their room and
with a big boom yeah with a big boom
and then Doren's just like
well whatever and continues to fight the air
elemental in front of them and I'm also
going to use this goading attack
nice on a goading attack when I hit with a weapon
I expend one of my superior to die
and go the target into attacking me
nice good call 27 to hit
nice 19 damage they make a
wisdom safe. Well, this one doesn't. That's a natural one. Oh, nice. Orxploers like,
We can kill the wind! You want to attack again? Yep. 25 to hit? Yes. Seven damage.
All right. Red, it's your turn. Red is going to kill the guy in front of him. I think he's going to
attack him with his range, even though it's disadvantage. Sure. Because why the heck not? Oh, that
would be why not.
Eleven.
No.
All right.
Fuck it.
Red will take a step back.
Okay, he's going to attack you.
Bring it on.
It's a natural 20.
You didn't have to bring it that on.
Change it.
Change it.
Yeah, it's not going to be a critical, at least.
Save me, Krayloth.
Save me.
Yeah, you deny me my crit.
I deny your crit.
Kralath sees the weight behind this
attack and
before it even has a chance to hit,
he's protected red with Kellam Vore's love.
The opportunity attack that would have been a crit
turns into just a measly regular hit
and you take seven slashing damage.
Take this one and I'm going to attack him now
without penalty with the Hunter's Mark
and Colossus Slayer.
Oh yeah, 18 to hit?
It does.
Take them out.
Take them out.
31 damage.
Holy shit.
Whoa.
He's not dead yet.
It was worth the hit.
You get him right in the belly and he staggers around for a second, spurting blood everywhere.
I say, suck on that, you cult bastard.
Yikes.
Good redemption, buddy.
Just the attack started off, like him standing with his bow right in front of him, like five feet away, just, ugh.
Oh, and then takes a step back, gets hit, and then fires, and that does that.
I'm very good at a distance.
And Red will move a little bit and try to get into some cover.
It's Nivon's turn.
He runs forward right up into Jack's business and attacks him lightning fast.
Yikes.
With his great sword.
I mean, it's all right.
22 to hit you?
It will hit me, yeah.
18 to hit you?
As these sword blows are coming down, the first one catches me unaware,
smashes off the stone skin. Jack puts his hand up and casts a shield to bring up and try and deflect
the second blow, and it does turn it aside. You take 12 slashing damage. Yeah, so it definitely
chips away. There's some dust and granite sparks in the air. And then he attacks you again.
Okay. 21 to hit. 21 does hit. Nine slashing damage. Jack struggles to maintain his concentration,
but does both through both blows. The dudes. It's the
The cultists turn.
The dudes.
The one that's been mono-a-manoing with Zulkin takes another swing.
Two swings at him, hits him once dealing nine slashing damage.
Zulkin takes the blow heavy on his arm and he clamps a hand over the wound bleeding.
The other cultist turns and slashes at you, Kralath.
He's got this arrow protruding from his stomach,
but he's going to give it his last effort with a 16 to hit you,
misses you with both blows.
And you see he's like shaking.
His arm can barely hold the sword,
but he's so imbued with this religious fervorance
that he's going to go down swinging.
Classic.
Yeah.
I get it, brother.
The elemental beside you, Doren, that you've goaded, moves onto your space and tries to pick you up into its body.
Make a strength saving throw.
A strength saving throw?
24.
Yeah, you're fine.
You just hold your ground.
I'm like, ha, ha, what is this?
Wind.
The other air elemental moves onto Jack's.
space and tries the same thing.
Jack,
make a strength saving throw
as this whirlwind tries to pick you up.
We know how good I am at this four.
No.
You take some damage
as it picks you up
and you are battered
by the contents of its body.
It's got like books and stones
and stuff inside.
Books!
Jack tries to reach for one.
Jack finds a page of a book.
You take 18 bludgeoning damage.
And you are thrown
20 feet.
Jack's getting thrown around out here.
Doran, it sounds like you're yelling through a windstorm.
I am. There's dust in my eyes.
Does yours have any books in it?
And you take 10 bludgeoning damage
as you are thrown 20 feet
and you slam against this column
and slide to the ground.
Well, there's got to be like a table and chair
there that just go crumbling.
Yeah, you like hit the
Manticore taxidermy
and it falls off of the wall.
The century's old.
Technically it's all right.
What do you do?
Okay.
Kralath is going to try hefting his mace and he's going to swing it at this cultist in front of him.
Do it.
Balance the scales, brother.
14 to hit.
14 misses.
Okay.
I'm going to move my scythe over to the cultist and I'm going to swing it at him.
Awesome.
So that's going to be 17 to hit?
Yes, 17 hits.
All right.
But does your scythe slip on the grease?
It must.
And he's going to take seven points of damage.
The scythe is hungry for blood today.
With that, it cuts down the cultist in front of Zulkin,
and Zulkin lets out a ragged cheer as the attacker that was really eluding him is removed from combat.
Nice.
Well done.
Scyth. And then Kralov is going to try to position himself again between Red and this
cultist. I'm not scared. Bring it on, nerd. Who me? No, not you. Jack, it's your turn. You are
prone. I'm prone, but I'm near him. Jack disappears in a silver mist to appear right beside Red
and then points his wand back out at Nivan and tries to suck the soul from his body. Oh, hey, Jack.
Hey, Red.
And Jack is made of stone, but it's crumbling.
You can start to see skin through it as it's sloughing off.
He's starting to look pretty battered and bloody.
You look bad.
He's got...
Yeah, we're holding in there.
Don't put your hand on my shoulder.
I've been tossed around by these air elementals.
It's not good.
If Navon could make me a save, though.
Wisdom save.
18.
That's he's fine, then.
All right.
It's Zolkin's turn.
He rallies himself looking over.
over at Kella's unconscious body on the ground and then seeing Doran caught up in this swirling elemental,
he runs over to help protect his free, heirling.
He hits once with his long sword.
Unfortunately, as it is mundane, he's only dealing half damage.
Regardless, damage is damage, and this creature takes two hit points of damage.
Nice.
Hey-oh. Zulkin's a hero, guys.
Set up, Zulkin.
Doren, it's your turn.
Doren, it's your turn.
So I'm going to actually use
my commander's strike first
and just say to Red.
Red, take your shot on Navan, would you?
All right, buddy. That would be a 17 to hit.
You do.
Nice. And how much am I adding to this?
Yes, so you're going to add four.
34 damage.
Great job.
Oh.
Thanks, Doran.
Nice hit.
Right on.
That's the way we do it.
The old one, two, three.
That's right.
Huh?
I mean, the old two, three.
Just one three.
No, because you're one.
Because you do the thing, and then I'm two.
So technically it's the old two three.
Just one three.
What else do you do?
Okay, so I'll still attack once, the elemental in front of me.
Great.
With a 16.
You do?
Excellent.
16 slashing damage.
Your axe cleaves through this arrow.
elemental cutting ribbons of air and wind to shreds and slowly its currents subsides and it
disappears.
Oh.
Orc splitter's like,
They can be defeated.
Well done, Doran.
Well done, Dorn.
And he kisses his axe head.
Well done, Doran.
The blood on it.
She kisses you back.
Red, it's your turn.
I'm going to use my bonus action to move Hunter's mark onto Nivon.
And I'm going to attack the motherfucker.
Great.
With a 16 to hit.
Yes.
Nice.
Hey.
28 damage.
Good job.
And I'm going to attack again.
With a 15 to hit?
No, you miss.
Damn.
And I'll cower behind cover.
And with that, Nivan waves his hands and disappears from sight.
Where did he go?
Damn.
Can I counterspell that?
Ooh.
I mean, did you want to?
Do you have a reaction?
There's this trail of magic from where he just shrugged off my last spell.
And is that, like, magic has yet to quite fade through the air?
I sort of use my wand to whip it back into shape to screw up the spell that he's trying to cast.
Yeah, Navon starts to go incorporeal, and then you glue him back to his place in the tower with you.
His face snaps towards you, and he just glares this evil glare at you.
and he says, fine, then, I'll do it your way.
He runs across the room at you around this air elemental leaps over the table,
hustles over this ruined stone wall with his great sword raised and then slashes at you.
Oh, my God.
Yikes.
He's not joking around, eh?
Mm-mm.
Great sword and magic?
Mm-hmm.
Sorry, Red.
24 to hit you.
That hits.
Should a crit, mumble, mumble.
11, slashing damage.
So that's five.
Oh, yeah, you still got stone skin.
That's all he's got right now.
Unfortunately, you took up his action, so.
And I managed to concentrate.
Good stuff.
So the stone skin stays in place, but I'm down to seven hit points.
The air elemental then swirls over to beside Navon and lands on top of Red and Jack.
Both of you make a strength saving throw.
Damn.
12.
Natural one.
Sorry.
No.
Both of you fail.
Oh, no.
Yes.
It's like a tornado.
Red and Jack, you're both caught up into the body of this elemental.
And it swirls around knocking you into each other and into the debris inside of its body.
Yikes and yikes.
That is 17 bludgeoning damage.
And then you are both flung 20 feet away.
And you both take 2D6 bludgeoning damage as you hit the ground.
Red, you take four bludgeoning damage.
Jack, you take five bludgeoning damage.
Yeah, Jack hits the ground and the rest of the stone sluffs off his skin
as he lays there unconscious in the ground kind of at Doran's feet.
Oof.
No!
And Nivon starts laughing.
Ha ha ha ha!
That's what you get.
The night beside you, Kralath, dripping blood on his last legs, tries to attack you.
17?
It misses.
So both of his attacks, he's just too weak right now to hit you.
Kralath, it's your turn.
Okay, well, as a bonus action, I'm going to cast Spare the Dying on Jack.
Hey.
Dorn, are you able to get to Nivan?
Yes, I can run and hit him.
That's what I do.
I run and hit.
Enjoy it.
My favorite thing to do.
So Kraloth is going to take the attack of opportunity from this guy next to him.
And he's going to run next to Jack.
That's an 18 to hit you.
That misses.
Ha ha.
It's that shiny new armor.
Water Davian steel.
That's right.
Krayloth is going to kneel down.
And as a level three, he's going to cast cure wounds.
And I have a class feature that allows me to do max healing.
Awesome.
Oh.
That's right.
So you are going to.
recover eight times three, so 24, so you're going to recover 27 hit points.
Nice.
Oh, I made a promise to Torin.
You aren't going down today.
I know you always got me, Kralath.
Nice.
Good stuff.
Jack, it's your turn.
I'm going to point at Nivan and this Air Elemental with my wand and just say,
you think you're so smart, take a look at this.
And there's just a moment, this like eye-capturing little interesting thing that grabs
their attention in the middle of it that explodes behind them in this big booming thunderous
sound. So that would be DC15 intelligence saving throw, please. All right. That's a zero for
the elemental. Oh. And a 16 for Navon. That is seven damage for the elemental and half of that
for Navon in a real fabulous role. Jack then scrambles to his feet and moves backwards to get
beside Doran.
All right.
Kind of right by the doors
there where we came in.
You mean the Doran?
Doren, between Doran and the door in?
Doran by the Dorian.
Alex, you get inspiration
for that stupid joke.
Yeah.
Thanks.
Well, thank you.
So it's Zulkin's turn.
He's going to run forward.
I don't think he's got quite enough
movement to get there and attack,
but he puts himself between Kralov
and Nivon with his sword-beared
and he says,
what did you do to her?
What you're doing? What you're doing, Zulkin?
Doran, it's your turn.
Doren runs up and he's going to attack Nivon.
First, with my first hit, I hit him maybe with a 22?
Yeah.
Heck yeah.
13 damage.
Then I bring my axe over top my head again and I hit him with a 24.
That hits.
They're rolling rocks tonight.
Yeah, he's doing great.
That's what fighters do, man.
They fight shit.
Doesn't hurt having a plus nine in my attack.
Yeah.
Then I'm having nine points of damage for this second hit.
I think you'd take an arm off, but he's still standing.
He's like, oh, hell!
It's just a wound.
It's just a blood wound.
It's just a skin wound.
A blood wound.
My arm!
Surrender, Navon.
That's right. You can give up now.
Put your dust monster away.
The big monster's like, oh.
So intimidating when you put it like that.
Put your dust monster.
I might spare your.
your life.
I don't control it.
It's the Anthe Bin's monster.
Cool, that's your turn.
That was Dorin's time.
Red, it's your turn.
Red limps away from this guy who's still a little bit next to him.
And he moves as far away as he can from everybody else.
And he's going to cast cure wounds on himself at a level two, which will heal me back.
Ooh, six and six, 12, 14 hit points.
Cool.
Well done.
That's it.
It's going to try to find a quiet place.
place to chill out for a moment.
Six whole seconds of peace.
Yeah.
Navon, finally, just a look behind the screen here, finally failing his concentration check with
Doran's attack, can do nothing but recover.
His energy as a wave of lethargy sweeps over him.
So he puts his one hand on his knee and he looks sadly down at the ground where his other
hand is lying and just breathes really heavy.
He's like, you'll regret this.
And then the elemental moves over where Doran and Zulkin are standing.
The two of you have to make a strength save or get thrown into the air.
Zulken rolls, yeah, 21, so he's fine.
You got this, Doren.
You're sturdy.
You're tough.
An 18.
Yeah, you're both fine.
This air elemental is just whirling around the two of you read.
this cultist that you have alluded for so long
is not going to let you get away from him.
For fuck's sake.
He chases you down and attacks you twice with this long sword.
Die, cat.
I'm not a cat.
I'm a fox, you fuck.
Does 11 hit you?
No.
Does a 21 hit you?
Yes.
So you are hit once for slashing damage.
All right.
I'll fucking kill you then.
Kralath, it's your turn.
You are right beside your colleague, Zulkin.
The Air Elemental is whirling overhead and Navon is nearby recovering his expended energy.
What do you do?
Kralath can feel the connection to his spiritual weapon waning.
And in one last focus of will, he moves the scythe behind the cultist and is going to swipe at him.
Do it.
Let's do it.
Let's have you kill everything here.
Yeah, with this floating sight.
We believe in you.
Kellenvour walks among us.
Sorry, guys, it's a natural one.
Get out.
Oh, shame.
For shame.
Oh, you know what?
I already shamed this die.
I'm just going to roll another.
I thought you were going to say.
Oh, actually, it's a 20.
Dang, and then my spiritual weapon fades out of existence.
Bye, Seif.
Bye, sigh.
The hope and the despair that comes in and
leaves Red's eyes at that very moment.
And that's the end of your turn, right?
You're done now.
Yes, Kralath sent his sight.
How ex...
Oh.
Kralov is going to shift over eyeing this elemental,
and he's going to cast sacred flame on the elemental.
Okay.
And it has to make a dexterity save?
23.
Oh, my God.
Okay.
All right.
So wind is pretty dexterous.
Wind's pretty...
It's pretty fast.
Turns out.
Damn.
Yeah. Okay. That's my turn.
Cool. Jack.
So Jack's standing in front of the door that came into the one side of him.
He can see Kralath and Zulkin and Doren fighting the elemental and Nivand.
To the other side, he looks and sees this knight, this cultist who's been stalking red.
And he turns to that cultist and points the wand and just tries to like yank the soul right out of him to ring that bell.
So we're going to cast perennial favorite, Toll the Dead.
Wisdom saving throw, please.
Like it's foggy London town.
19.
What do you get there?
It was a 19, but Alex was bonging.
Oh.
It's a 19.
So then nothing happens.
It's okay.
And Jack is going to step into the stairwell to gain a little cover.
Back to where he started.
From whence he came.
It's Zolkin's turn.
He moved.
moves, just takes a step to the west of this era elemental.
And then with his great sword, he attacks Navon as he's just bent over trying to recover
his breath.
17, that hits him.
And with one clean stroke, Zolkin cuts off Navon's head.
Oh, wow.
Nice.
And the cultist just slides to the floor, beheaded.
Well done.
Zulkin.
That's Zulkin's turn.
Doran, what do you do?
You are caught up in the body of this elemental,
but it didn't get to pick you up.
Right.
So I look over at Zulkin,
who chops off the head of,
of,
fuck, what's his name?
Navon.
And Doreen just attacks the wind.
He continues to swipe it.
Get out of my face now,
he's saying.
Fight the wind.
Damn.
That's, I'm going to say,
use my lucky points if I have any.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I do.
I have one lock point left.
Aha.
Okay, much better.
That's a unnatural 20.
Mm-hmm.
That hits.
Eight damage.
And then another attack, which will do 13 to hit.
No.
That's all I can do.
Just chopping up wisps of air.
Fred, it's your turn.
All right.
I'm going to look at this guy and say,
are you just going to fucking die a what?
He's got one of your arrows sticking.
out of its guts.
And I'm going to intimidate him
and I'm going to say, look, just leave.
I don't want to have to put the next one
and throw your fucking eye.
Even if I die,
it'll be for the glory of Yonzi Bin.
What are you an idiot?
And I'm going to fire at him.
With disadvantage,
because you're right up beside him.
Yeah, whatever.
16.
Yeah, you hit.
All right.
25 damage.
Yeah, you put that all right
through his sneering face.
Red just like draw
back on the bow, which is like inches from this guy's face.
He's just staring at it.
And Red just is like, say hi to Yonzi Bin for me then.
And he lets go of the arrow as it sings through the back of his head.
And Red's just like, fucking idiot.
And he starts jogging over to the others.
Great job.
Excellent.
Red jogs a little bit into the room, stands next to the unconscious body of Keller.
And he's going to pull back and he's going to fire at the whirlwind.
Don't hit me.
24 to hit.
Yes.
Nice.
15 damage.
Awesome.
All right.
It's the Elemental's turn, Doreen, he tries to slam you with these giant tornado arms.
Excellent.
This is an attack, right?
Yes, these are attacks.
13 to hit you?
No, a 13 does not.
Both attacks miss you.
Okay, I am going to use my repost.
Yeah.
Cool.
And this thing.
So I'm going to expand a severe die and make an attack.
A what die, sorry?
A superiority die.
I am going to expend one of my superiority dyes and add eight, the maximum amount of damage.
If I hit, I roll a natural one.
No.
Shame it.
For shame.
Crayloth, your turn.
Crayloff is going to summon up another spiritual weapon.
Working well for you so far.
The weapon is going to take a swipe at.
this wind elemental, that is going to be a 26 to hit.
Oh, yes.
Whoa, 10 points of damage.
Great job.
Kralat's going to heft his mace, and with a reverberant, metallic grunt, he swings it at the
elemental for an eight.
An eight does not hit.
Oh.
And it goes right through and hits a book.
Jack's like, no.
Jack, it's your turn.
Jack peaks his head around the corner, sees the.
elemental still standing and, you know, uses to zan's wand like a whip to try and send some
necrotic energy towards this thing to ring what's left of a soul out of its body. If it could
make me a wisdom-saving throw, please. 10. Boom. Seven necrotic damage as this whole thing
rings like a, like a bell. Zulkin brandishes his sword, swings twice, hits twice. Why not?
13 damage altogether, divided by two, because it's a mundane weapon.
Is it, though?
I mean, Doran, it's your turn.
Doran, it's your time.
I look through the air elemental at Red, and I point my axe at Red,
and I kind of go, like, as if I'm leading a charge.
Red, take your shot again, and watch my head, eh?
Right out, buddy.
What am I adding to it?
One.
Woo-hoo.
Well, it was well used
Because I got a natural one
Right at the end here
All these ones
Okay
Then Doran attacks
Doren, it's your time
Hitting it with a 21
Chop, chop, chop
Nice, Doran, this could be it
Your time
Ork splitter's magic.
Break the wind.
Fifteen damage.
And Doran, as you slide orc splitter, between two gusts of air, the creature, this elemental
just...
And I stand there flailing my axe in the air.
Like you just don't care.
Looking like a crazy person, realizing suddenly that it's gone.
All right.
Well, that's it.
We've cleared it out.
Well done, everyone.
Excellent job. Zulkin runs over to where Kella is lying on the ground, burnt, bleeding, covered in axe wounds and grease.
And he kneels down and her eyelids flutter. She weakly opens her eyes. He should have joined us.
Zulken. And he's like, not this time, Kella darling. Not this time. And he doesn't. And he does. And he
just closes her eyes and she breathes her last breath and expires.
Well done, Zulkin.
Well done.
What a sad end for whatever her name was.

Jaspers.
