tend to happen better for you.
And I think that kind of plays into like the voodoo world and curses.
Like if you know like this person just did this to me,
that's in your head now.
But even if there's not,
just knowing that you're like, oh no, like,
cursed.
You're going to go around thinking that
and then naturally bad things are going to start happening.
All right, guys, got a fan favorite back in town. Jay.
Yeah.
Been busy, man.
It's good to be here.
Yeah.
New season coming out soon.
Yeah, we're excited about it.
It's been, I mean, we've been filming nonstop and it's been a little while since new episodes
came out.
So we're really excited for this new season.
And I mean, I've been doing this 15 years now, and it just gets crazier like there's been moments
Where I'm like all right what else could I see what else could I experience that's gonna really?
And it happens like we just have things happen
Whole season like I'm pretty much every episode there's at least one or two things that just still are blowing my mind
So I'm super excited for everyone to finally be able to see it
Yeah, cuz I was gonna ask you like does anything faze you at this point?
You've seen a lot.
Yeah, I mean, there's times where it doesn't.
I feel like there is a numbness that comes with it.
But ultimately, we're going for that holy grail of evidence
at this point.
And we feel like we get it.
There's multiple episodes that we've
called visual evidence that we cannot explain whatsoever.
We were doing a seance at the Winchester Mystery House this new season and it's the hundredth anniversary of when Houdini was last there doing a seance
Whoa, so we tracked down the only known blood relative of Houdini
Brought him in to join us in the seance and we were using Polaroid cameras to document evidence and we got this thing
That was just like, you just,
you'll see it, it's just flying around the table and it's,
it's, it's amazing. It's super cool.
Yeah. And what's awesome about Polaroids too is, you know,
for everyone that's a skeptic out there,
we like using Polaroids cause it's right then, you know,
you can actually show it and we're filming the process.
You see the picture come out, it develops.
We can show you right on the spot. You know,
there's no time to to do anything with it.
It's literally right there, a physical piece of evidence.
That's cool.
Do certain cameras capture the spirits or whatever better?
Yeah, we use a lot of different types of cameras.
We try to shoot for what we see here
is the visible light spectrum.
But we know there's other types of light that exist.
There's infrared light, there's UV light, things like that.
So we'll use cameras that are basically designed
to be able to see in ultraviolet light,
to be able to see in infrared light,
and kind of basically capture things
that we can't see with our regular eyes.
Yeah, the heat one I noticed,
the spirits have a different heat, right?
Yeah, we use a lot, we use thermal cameras as well
that pick up heat signatures
or even cold signatures too.
We've had human forms appear, but it's mapped as cold.
Interesting.
And then it kind of plays into the thing
where people get the chills and they
feel like that cold air is suddenly moving in kind of thing.
Yeah.
So we've been able to document that as well,
which is really cool.
Have you ever gotten the chills somewhere? Oh, yeah, all the time. Yeah. And honestly, that's kind of thing. Yeah. So we've been able to document that as well, which is really cool. Have you ever gotten the chills somewhere?
Oh, yeah.
All the time.
Yeah.
And like honestly, like that's kind of where it starts.
Honestly, like a lot of people are like, oh,
what's your favorite piece of equipment?
What kind of, you know, what should I buy?
I'm like, learn it yourself.
Trust your body.
Trust your own feelings.
You know, we're not psychics.
We're not mediums.
We're not anything like that.
But I feel like we are in tune to things.
We've been doing it long enough
where we know our bodies, we know when we feel something,
we walk into a room, we start feeling something,
and we're like, all right,
let's pay attention to this room, to this spot,
and then we start bringing out the different cameras,
the different devices to then document it.
And to be kind of like, just before this,
we were talking about to be able to feel something
and then prove it is, that's, you know.
It's a good feeling.
Exactly, you know, you're not crazy.
Yeah, it must be second nature for you at this point.
Yeah, absolutely.
Right.
And even, you know, there's times throughout the day too
where like we're not filming and I try to just be like,
all right, I'm not even, like I'll, you know,
I'll be like, oh, there's something weird here.
But I'm like, no, I'm not even playing into it.
Cause it's like, I'll leave work at work at this point. You must have nightmares all the time. Oh yeah, I'm not even playing into it. Yeah, it's like I'll leave work at work
You must have nightmares all the time. Oh, yeah
Sleeping is not the because you sleep out the location, right?
No, we'll we'll spend all night there and then we will finally wrap up and then we go back to a hotel But that's the thing too after an investigation
You're pumped like you're also terrified. You're trying to process what you just experienced especially was a really intense one
You're trying to figure out what just happened
It messes with your mind, you know, it kind of so it's not easy just to be like, I'm just gonna go back to the hotel
I'm gonna sleep. Sometimes you're wide awake you're wired, but you're exhausted like it's such a weird it messes with your body a lot
Yeah, and I think for what we do too. We really open ourselves up to it
So like just that on an energetic level a spiritual level, it really kind of messes with you, honestly.
I bet. Do you have ways of protecting your energy?
Yeah, I try to just keep myself balanced and grounded.
I like nature, I play music, doing things that just kind of...

Bring positive energy to me and kind of rebalance
anything negative that's been around me.
That makes sense.
Yeah, you're killing the music stuff right now, right?
Yeah, yeah.
The band 100 in the Hand,
we've been playing some shows,
been doing a lot of recording
and hopefully we're gonna try to get out there
this summer some more and maybe play some festivals
and other shows and things.
I love it.
Yeah.
What a big change from ghost hunting to a barren place.
Well, that's where it started, honestly.
Music was my first love.
That's kind of originally when I was a kid, I played music and that's what got me into
filmmaking was, you know, I grew up when MTV was still playing music videos and, you know,
I wanted to make music videos.
So I got, you know got my parents VHS camera,
started learning how to use it, how to edit,
and I just made these crappy little music videos
for my middle school bands and high school bands,
and that's kinda how I started learning
how to film and edit.
Oh, that's cool.
And that's how you started on the ghost show too,
as a filmmaker, right?
Yeah, I was the sound mixer originally,
just recording the audio,
and then just kind of evolved from there.
Wow, that's cool. Was it like a specific moment that they were like, yo, start, start coming?
Yeah. Yeah. It was, uh, we were doing episode at Johnny Cash's house in Jamaica.
Ooh.
And, uh, which is wild cause it's set up just the way it was when he left. Like,
you wouldn't even think he's dead.
And that spot was haunted?
Uh, yeah, there was a lot of claims. Uh, I guess it's owned by his estate and they just keep it,
they keep it up and running. Uh, so they let us in there. Uh, of claims. I guess it's owned by his estate and they just yeah, they keep it up and running
So they let us in there
They investigate I wasn't investigating at the time
I was just there for the first half of the show to record audio and then I would kind of stay out and they do
their thing
After that with next episode we're driving somewhere in Arizona and Zach's like hey Jay check out this EVP
We got which an EVP if you don't know, is electronic voice phenomena.
When you're recording audio and you're asking questions
or trying to communicate,
and then you get responses in the silence
and you know no one's talking,
you can check the video footage,
no one else is talking, but you hear clear voices.
And sometimes these voices are actually, you know,
reacting to you and your questions,
which brings it to a whole other level. So he plays me this EVP and you hear Zach say,
do you like Johnny Cash's music?
And this EVP goes, yeah, like a real like,
you know, and I'm like, man, that sounds like Johnny Cash.
And then I was like, you know what you could do?
You could take a sample of Johnny Cash's voice
and basically make a waveform analysis
and kind of develop like a frequency fingerprint, if you will, of, his voice and then take the EVP and do the same thing and then
overlay them and see how much they line up.
And he's like, you can do that.
I'm like, yeah, I'm a tech nerd.
That's what I do.
So he's like, all right, we'll have you do that.
And then he's like, then he brought me on camera and that was my first on camera appearance
was doing this analysis and it actually lined up.
No way.
Cassius voice. Yeah. What?
Yeah.
Is that a unique thing to each voice?
Like, and someone.
Yeah.
It's basically like a fingerprint.
Like, you know, there's variables, there's some crossover, but like, it was
amazingly like spot on.
That's nuts.
You keep the same voice even when you pass away.
That's interesting, right?
Yeah.
That's super trippy to think about.
Have you ever had a real clear conversation with the spirit?
Like just like sentences more than just words?
Like actual conversation?
Yeah, we've had stuff.
We've had, I'm trying to remember,
there was one we did in South,
I think it was in Charleston, South Carolina,
where this woman was hung and we were like asking her,
like she had, I forget the phrase,
but she had like a famous phrase she said when,
right before she died.
And we're like, what did you say? And, but she had like a famous phrase she said right before she died.
And we're like, what did you say?
And then it comes through, like the whole phrase.
And we're like, wow, like that's not just a single word.
We've had conversations,
we've had voices come through with a few words
and then minutes later, the same voice is coming through.
And then again, you know, so like it shows that
whatever this, it's an intelligent spirit
and it can communicate with us.
Interesting. Yeah, because the spirit boxes will pick up on words, right? But not like full on
conversation. Well, it has. We've even picked up conversations between spirits. No way. Yeah,
we've had things that say like, you know, I'm just kind of just as a reference, maybe not exact,
but like they're like, they're here, they see us. And then you hear another voice be like, no,
they don't. And like, they're almost like they're communicating back and forth.
It makes me wonder, do they look at us as we're ghosts?
What's it like from their perspective?
What we think of a ghost, is there in their realm
in their world, or they look at us and be like,
there's a ghost.
It's kind of a weird, trippy thing to think about.
So are you a full believer now? Because I remember when you came on two years ago. You were like you're still looking for a solid proof
I mean, I believe it. I still approach things skeptically. I still like to try to have it. You know
Documented like solid evidence, but you know, but I believe it
I mean I've experienced it's been 15 years now doing this and without a doubt
There's more to this reality than just this,
what we see, what we experience.
And I know that from what I've seen, what I've felt.
I've been dragged backwards.
I've seen things lift off the ground.
I've seen exorcisms, possessions, rituals,
all kinds of things.
I've seen shadow figures.
I've seen, you know, pretty much you name it. I've seen it kinds of things. I've seen shadow figures. I've seen, you know, pretty much you name it.
I've seen it at this point.
So like what it all a hundred percent is, I don't know.
And I still like, I'll never say like,
I'm an expert that I know this.
I'm just experienced in doing it.
And I have theories and like hands down,
there's more to this.
Damn.
You guys still doing the house calls too?
We're not doing house calls right now.
We did do another season of that. I think since last time we talked, but I don't think it's aired yet. Okay. But yeah, we're not doing house calls right now We did a do another season of that. I think since last time we talked but I don't think it's aired yet
Okay, but yeah, we're not doing that right now
But like that was fun and like learned a whole other aspect because a lot of regular show we go out there
We're investigating like the history of the stories
Where house calls kind of gave it more of a personal touch and kind of almost learning that like people around the country or around
The world experience these things in their homes. Where 20 years ago they
would be called crazy for been talking about it you know so we can go in there
and kind of like either like be like hey you're not crazy like there is
something going on here here's the proof you know and we'll try to cleanse and
we'll try to help the family kind of get rid of it and it gives them peace.
What's cool, what I like about that show specifically
is we do follow up with every family.
A couple of months later, we check in with them,
we put it on the end of the show.
We just zoom in with them and kind of be like,
how's it been going?
This is kind of what we discovered, this is what we found
and thankfully I feel the majority of the people
are actually feel better
and that we were actually able to help them. Yeah. If your house is haunted,
would you move out? Uh, no, cause I'm sure my house is haunted. Honestly. Uh,
like I, like I try to ignore it as much as I can. I don't, I don't hunt my own
house. I kind of just, you know,
but there's definitely times where I'm like, all right, like, no,
I'm just not even, not even paying attention.
Cause you got the artifact room. right? Yeah, there's stuff
I hear things in there move around
I've a set of wind chimes that are like just hanging on a
One of the doors to the cabinets that have a bunch of wild stuff in it
And I'll hear that like just ringing every once in a while and that's on oh, there's no wind in there
Oh, it's inside. Yeah, it's inside. It's like full-on like that's crazy. Yeah
What's the craziest object you think you got in there?
Oh man, there's a few.
I have one piece I really,
I actually have a piece of a mummy.
Whoa.
Like the wrapping of a mummy.
No way.
Which is pretty cool.
Where'd you get that?
From Egypt.
Wow.
Like I found it through a guy that, you know,
it's legitimate, but it's an actual piece of an old mummy.
That's crazy.
I have some old other like ancient Egyptian artifacts
that are pretty cool.
Like they're just, you hold it and you're like, yeah,
there's some energy to this.
I have a, it's kind of ironic.
I have this little, like, it's like a cross stitch.
Like something you think like a grandma would make,
but it was hanging on the wall
during an ax murdering of a family.
Geez.
Yeah. So like, even though it's like this like
pretty little grandma cross stitch thing,
like it witnessed this brutal murder. Wow. Yeah. Yeah. I definitely think objects can
hold some sort of energy. Yeah. A hundred percent. There's a whole thing called the
stone tape theory where like, you know, anything that's an organic surface, like wood or rock,
things like that, they actually have a memory and they can store that energy. Um, and there
was a, the Japanese scientists that proved this,
through these water experiments,
about the projection of positive and negative energy
and how that can actually affect things
on a molecular level.
I saw that, that study was crazy.
You could speak positively to the water
and it would be better.
Yeah, it would basically form these beautiful crystals
when it was frozen, but the opposite,
you yell at it
You project hate to it. It's gonna form malfigured and disfigured looking crystals
Yeah, so it just shows like that's more what 70 80 percent water. So what is that doing to us?
Yeah, that study alone pretty much proves hauntings to me. Yeah
Absolutely, if there's tragic events that happen somewhere that energy is gonna stay there
That's the thing that like always sticks with me. Like that makes sense. 100% to me. Like it's almost like this energy loop.
And you go in there, you can document this like negative energy that's still
there or positive energy.
But then when we get the things that are actually interacting with us and
communicating with us directly,
that's where it still like takes it to a whole other level of like,
are these different dimensions of it?
Is it like piercing through a different time period?
You know, are they ghosts, what we think of ghosts,
you know, like there's so many different theories
that I love exploring and kind of, you know,
there's not one that I'm like, this is definitely it.
Like I'm always still, you know,
evolving and learning from it.
The time travel theory is nuts.
Cause I remember when you came on last time,
you were like, the ghost knew you were coming some.
Right. Yeah.
Like that's crazy.
Yeah. We've had people like literally like, oh were like, the ghost knew you were coming somewhere. Right, yeah. Like that's crazy.
Yeah, we've had people like literally like,
oh, like the day that like we signed the contract
that we're like locked in, we're gonna do this episode.
Then someone investigated, like they were just in there
and they're like, our voices came through,
things like that.
I remember like, wow.
Yeah.
Well, I've heard from a lot of like spiritual people
that there's no time when we pass away.
Exactly.
It's not linear.
Yeah, so like basically everything that's happened is happening
and will happening is all happening at the same time.
Yeah.
And that could be what ghost encounters are.
It's almost like certain spaces, there's like these holes
that you can almost pierce through and see
into these other, you know, what we call time periods.
You know, but it's all happening.
Like every reality is happening.
So like what it exactly is, I don't know, but that's one of my favorite theories
right now.
I hear also from a lot of people that Vegas is pretty haunted.
Oh yeah.
A hundred percent.
Yeah.
We just did a case.
Uh, it won't be in this new season.
It'll probably be in the season after that where we did a home here and we were
all like, honestly, we were all messed up from it from a home.
Yeah.
This house, like it had a fire, they think,
was like all based around this object that this guy got.
And I can't go too much into it, but we ended up,
like the only thing we could do to help
was take the object out of there.
And we all got messed up.
Some even worse than others.
But it's weird how like it happened.
And then as soon as that happened,
like all of us just were having issues
Like all kinds of levels and unfortunately some of us even way worse than others. Oh my gosh
Yeah, I gotta look into that one. So was that object curse you think or something? Uh, we think so
It's just something about this one object that and that's thing
There's certain objects that if it's to do with the energy or something like it's holding on to like just such an extreme negative energy that it affects people around it. Well I know in the museum
there's a couple of those right locked in their glass case. Yeah absolutely there's a glass case
or salt like the Dibbock box is one of them. Yeah I mean there's a lot of things in there that
I don't know I explore it so I kind of embrace it and I you know even though it's terrifying
I guess could be cursed like we have like the they have the devil's rocking chair
Which is like a cursed rocking chair and like I've sat in it
You know it's kind of crazy, but like I was like I want to see what happens did your back hurt
No, honestly like it was it was a weird moment, but unfortunately like but also good
I guess nothing crazy from it for
me at least yeah you know have you ever looked into voodoo dolls oh yeah you
think those are legit I think so I think there's a aspect to it you know where
it's almost like I don't know I'm not dismissing it I know I try not to
dismiss anything as a possibility because really anything is possible I
think yeah but I think with voodoo dolls, a lot of it is knowing.
It's kind of the same thing as manifestation
or positive affirmations or negative affirmations.
Like if you're going around every day of your life
being like, man, I'm cursed,
even if you're not cursed, nothing happened,
but you're like, I must be cursed.
I've had bad luck and this is happening
and this is happening and today sucks, I'm no good. That's gonna keep happening 100% you know you're gonna start noticing everything exactly
But then you can change that by being positive and you know usually more positive you can be the more you know
Outlooking you can be to the future and positive like things tend to happen better for you
Yeah, and I think that kind of plays into like the voodoo world and curses like if you know like
Shit like this person just did this to me. That's in your head now. Hmm
So like even if there's nothing I'm not saying there isn't but even if there is nothing on like a magical spiritual level
That's doing anything which I think there is something to it
I think there is but even if there's not just knowing that you're like, oh no, like cursed
Yeah, you're gonna go around thinking that
and then naturally bad things are gonna start happening.
Have you ever investigated like a witch or like?
Yeah. Something like that.
Yeah, we've done witches.
We did a voodoo, I guess I forget her title,
but like a voodoo practitioner down in New Orleans
and watched her do some rituals and things
and she definitely summoned up some crazy stuff.
I remember we called pretty wild evidence down there.
Really?
Yeah.
Wow.
That's crazy.
Yeah.
Yeah.
All the folk tales we learned growing up are actually like real, right?
But it's crazy.
Like when you get into like the idea of curses and stuff,
in the new season, we actually do an episode at the museum.
Yeah.
Because Zach got a new a new object
it's ashes of this serial killer and
Literally yesterday, you know, unfortunately, it's not gonna be in the show
But we just found out the lady that brought that to us and we interviewed
She just got involved in some crazy shootout like random thing with the police. No
Yeah, like it's just weird how like these things happen.
An old lady?
Not old, like she's older, you know,
I don't know her age or anything,
but like she just like,
and it was just not so and something you would expect.
Yeah.
And I remember Zach sent us the article, you know,
we were like, what, like what is happening here?
It makes you wonder about like demonic possession
and how people can be influenced to make certain actions.
Yeah, and it like kind of messes with you and almost overtakes you.
And that was the thing with our premiere episode this new season, which starts April 16th,
we dive into the Poltergeist house, which was the original location of the Poltergeist
movies from the 80s.
Yeah.
Which I don't know if you know too much of that, but it's like riddled of controversy
and tragedy. And there's a whole idea of a curse
Four actors of the film died
either during filming or shortly after
People had experiences at the house
Like they feel like there was an actual curse which like kind of coincided with the actual movie plot
So we go into that and what's crazy when we went into that is like this is just gonna be an episode and we got
absolutely insane evidence like full-on like to me one of almost like the holy grail of evidence that you want to get and
It was so impressive to us that we were like we got to dive even further
So we went into even more and ended up becoming a two-hour special Wow. I'm gonna watch that one for sure
That sounds crazy. Yeah, it's wild.
It's a 10 PM Discovery Channel.
And then it airs, streams next day on Macs and Discovery Plus.
Oh nice, I got HBO Max.
That's good.
You guys are leveling up.
Oh yeah, it's wild.
What platform did you guys start on?
We started on Travel Channel.
Oh, on Travel Channel.
Yeah, so we were on there forever.
And then it was kind of weird, which was great. I love it all and very thankful. But we went from Travel Channel. Yeah, so we were on there forever. And then it was kind of weird, which was great.
I love it all and very thankful.
But we went from Travel Channel and then Discovery
and Warner Brothers merged together
and Discovery came out with their own streaming platform
called Discovery Plus.
So, and then we launched a special at like the launch
of that streaming service and it did so well.
They're like, we want you exclusive now just for you know Discovery Plus like you're just
gonna be all your new episodes so for about two years or so all our new
episodes went strictly to streaming on Discovery Plus they would show reruns on
Travel Channel still like maybe a few months later but then we went there for
a while and then I guess two years ago they were finally like no we're gonna
bring you back and they put us on so we air
on actual Discovery Channel now
I think they still show stuff on travel like old episodes
But everything new is on Discovery first and then streams next that's cool man. The longevity is impressive
You guys got it longest running. Yeah, it's season 29. They're calling it like I don't even know exact like you think you don't
They're calling it now, but no
It's still going and that's thing too. Like, you know, these episodes,
that's why I'm excited for people to finally see it. Cause we did these a while ago.
Like, you know, we've been sitting on this kind of like, I want to talk about it.
I want to people to see this cause it's been amazing and we can't, you know,
cause it's years ago. Not years ago. It was probably in like the last, you know,
last year for sure. Okay.
Poultry guys we did kind of sooner, but because of what we discovered and how it went, we pushed it up. We're like, all right, this has to be in this one. There was another episode
we did down at Whiskey Pete's.
I've heard of that. That's close to here, right?
Yeah. It's kind of down by Buffalo Bills. Like when you're, if you're driving to LA,
it's like that last, you know, batch of casinos around state line
and they closing down.
So it was cool to be able to go to a casino that's empty
and just quiet.
And it's like, just that alone is so surreal
to go into a casino and it's just super quiet.
I remember during COVID, it was kind of like that over here.
Yeah, it's such a weird feeling.
It felt so weird.
It didn't feel like Vegas, man.
But that was another episode that we did more recently.
And we brought out the comedian, Matt Reif. Oh, he's cool. Yeah, but that was another episode that we did more recently and we brought out the comedian Matt
Reif. Oh, he's cool. Yeah, he came out which was I was impressed like he's an actual like investigator like really
He does his own ghost hunt. No, like he's a hundred percent hardcore into it
Why it's really cool to see and really cool to be able to investigate with them
But that was another episode that was like just so good that we're like, all right
No, we're this this got to move up, like, this can't wait.
Like we wanna push this one out now.
I love that, shout out to Matt.
I remember Post Malone came on a few of your episodes.
Yeah, we had Post Malone out.
He was, and that's another thing,
like he ghost hunted after that.
I remember him hitting us up and being like,
hey, can I borrow some gear?
I'm gonna do this ghost hunt here.
Yeah.
You know, we also do an episode, which was cool too.
We brought out another guest at the Glen Tavern Inn.
We bring out Jonathan Davis who's the lead singer of the band Korn.
Oh wow.
Yeah, which was another one like you know you wouldn't expect to be like into ghost
hunting but like full on into it.
And I think what was interesting with him like he had a different take on things because
before he was famous rock star, he actually worked as a mortician.
Like he kind of dealt with that world in his own way.
It was kind of cool to bring his energy and mix them with ours.
Yeah. He probably saw some stuff. That's nuts.
Have you, have you guys ever been denied from filming somewhere?
Yeah, I'm sure. Like, you know, we reach out, there's a lot of places that like,
I don't know, some places don't want the stigma
of being like, oh yeah, we're haunted.
Like either people, like some, especially businesses,
like they'll, sometimes they'll embrace it.
And honestly, you can make a whole thing of it.
You know, there's hotels that are like,
we're the most haunted hotel in America.
There's probably 50 of them that claim
to be the most haunted hotel.
And like people go there because of that.
But then there's other ones that are like,
no, we don't even want to like, you know, encourage that.
We don't even wanna like promote that we might be haunted
or, you know, we don't even wanna talk about
the bad history that we've had here.
Vegas is a tough one.
Like we've tried to do different places,
but a lot of like the casinos are just like zero.
Like, you know, it's only positive press.
Like we don't even want negativity
or we don't want anything. And that's the thing.
Like there's so much that goes on in these casinos that no one even knows.
Like they cover it up.
A lot of casinos have their own security, their own police force.
That's like the whole like, you know, you know, stereotype, like they'll take you out
the back door sometimes, and like, you know, so it's not known really.
It's not a big deal.
Like, you know, people die, they kind of sneak them out and try to cover it up before the news gets out there.
I heard there's like a death a week
or something crazy like that.
I mean, I'm sure just with like people getting trouble
with money or even just suicides, you know,
it's unfortunate, but like it's always happening.
Yeah.
You recently did underground tunnels beneath Paris.
Not recently.
That was actually a while ago.
Oh, that was a while ago?
Yeah, but that was...
I saw you on a pod talking about it, I think.
That was probably one of the most surreal places, I think, I've ever been.
It was for a special we did called Netherworld, which was really cool.
And we went out to Paris, and before going, we had it set up.
So basically, under Paris, there's still 300 miles worth of tunnels that originally were mines but then during the plague times they ran out of
places to put the bodies so they just started dumping bodies down in these old mines. Eventually
they tried to clean them all up and they made like a museum, they made like a sanctuary that you can
go visit and see all these bones and things like that and kind of like honor the people that died
back then.
But there's still these 300 miles of tunnels.
So we set it up with these guys
that were gonna go down there,
we're gonna tour the tunnels.
And when we get to go do it,
we had to push it back because of filming,
we end up filming late and then we're like,
can we just do it tomorrow night instead?
And they're like, no, we're out.
And they just backed out on us.
Wow.
Shit, like we're already over here in France like this is we need this
This is like the heart of what we want to do here
if we don't have this like I don't even know if we can have a show but
And so we're outside of our hotel and a fan walks by and spots us and we're all kind of in a bad mood
And she's like what's going on? We're like, oh, we just lost our connection to go into the catacombs
And she's like, oh, I know some guys that know the catacombs.
We're like, all right.
So she's like, basically like called them.
She's like, meet these guys at this intersection at this time of day.
And it was like something out of a movie where like, we have no idea who these guys are.
Like, we're just like, all right, we're just going to go meet these guys.
And from a production standpoint, we're like, okay, we'll meet up with them.
We'll do like a little, we'll film us meeting them,
and then we'll kind of stop.
We'll change, put on better boots,
and kind of prepare to go into the tunnels
with different cameras.
We literally walked up to these guys,
and they're like, you want to go down there?
And we're like, yeah, let's go.
And they're like, all right, hurry, follow us.
And they start taking off, and they barely speak English.
That's hilarious.
And they lift open a sewer grate,
and they're like, hurry, hurry, hurry,
before anyone sees us. No way. And we're just like, all right. And they lift open a sewer grate, and they're like, hurry, hurry, hurry, before anyone sees us.
No way.
We were just like, all right,
and we just run and we just go.
That's hilarious.
And then we hiked for miles.
There was times, one of the craziest things,
when we first got in there,
you could hear music bumping.
We basically climbed down this ladder,
basically into the sewer at first,
and then from the sewer, we were walking down,
and our guide was like, wait here, turns the corner, and I just hear yelling basically into the sewer at first and then from the sewer we were like walking down and
Our guide was like wait wait here like turns the corner and I just hear yelling in French I pull my pocket knife out. I'm like, I don't know what's going on here. Like, you know, I just it sounds pretty intense
And then he comes around the corn. He's like the lettuce pass
It was like something that like a Lord of the Rings kind of like vibe thing
We're like what is going on and they're actually having a rave down there
No way, but everyone down there, you know and like no offense anyone but like if you're down there
You're not really you know
Like you might be a sketchy character, you know, so they're like they'll let us pass. They're like just point cameras down
Don't film anybody just and don't even like have them up like even if they think they're being filmed like they're gonna freak out
Yeah, they're like just point everything down on're being filmed, like they're gonna freak out. Yeah.
So they're like just point everything down in the ground
and just like eyes down, just walk through.
And then we went and we just passed through that.
That was like our first little experience.
And then we hike for miles.
We ended up like having to wade through water.
That was like, we called it bone juice.
Cause it was like this weird milky looking water.
And like it was like basically up to our chest,
we're like, you know, like walking through camera gear and everything.
Oh my gosh.
And then eventually we get to a point where it's a T junction
and our guys like climb in there, there was a hole.
And so we climb in and it opened up to a giant cave and it was just filled with
human bones.
Basically we were about 200 feet below an old cemetery and it was a plague pit.
So like there's so many people dying of the plague.
They would just dig these giant holes
and just dump all the bodies in and just fill it up.
So that's what we were literally walking in a plague pit.
I'm surprised you didn't catch a disease over there.
Right, yeah, I mean, but there was just bones.
You can't even see a floor.
You're just walking through it, just crunching on bones.
It was still to this day the most surreal place
I think I've ever been.
Did it feel like kind of haunted there?
Honestly, not as much as you would think.
We weren't focused too much on investigating that special.
It was kind of more of like what people's beliefs are
and the afterlife and kind of like how the dead are treated,
things like that.
We did investigate a little bit and got some evidence.
But I think like oddly felt like oddly peaceful in a weird way.
Like I don't know if it's because like it's such a respected thing and they
didn't make this shrine. Now they made this museum to like honor everybody that died. Obviously they didn't get all the bones.
But I don't know if it's because it's treated with respect.
It's kind of like, you know, became peaceful.
Yeah.
They smell awful.
No, honestly, didn't know.
It was actually, honestly, surprising clean.
Even the tunnels were just like, most of them were just empty.
Like maybe a little like dirt kind of dust,
but they were just empty tunnels for miles and miles.
Yeah.
You know.
They're finding a lot of underground stuff right now.
Did you see the Egypt one?
Right under the pyramids.
You guys got to investigate that.
I would love to get in there.
That would be insane.
Yeah. I wonder how many civilizations
lived underground in the past.
Yeah. I mean, we're just, everything's built on top of it.
It's, you know, wouldn't it be surprising to me, you know,
I'm a big believer in like,
we've been around a lot longer than what history is telling us.
You think so? Oh yeah. And like we discover it. a lot longer than what history is telling us you think so
Oh, yeah, and like we discover it and it's weird that like there's this mainstream block of being like, oh
We're not gonna change anything. It's like but we have evidence
You know, and it's okay. Like I don't understand why they won't just yeah. Yeah, like stuffs older
You've been around longer. Who cares?
People are still gonna buy on Amazon people are still gonna buy on Amazon. People are still gonna go to work.
People are still gonna flip through TikTok.
It's not gonna change the world.
So why not just embrace what it really is?
100%.
Dude, it's a shame, because I used to love history class.
And now I'm learning about how much was wrong.
It's like, wow.
Yeah, and it's okay.
It doesn't totally say that history was wrong.
Those things happen. But there's just more.
There's more to the story, which I think is amazing.
I think that's exciting.
I think that's even cooler than just being like, it's this and that's all it ever is.
Yeah.
Have you guys done any ancient civilization explorations?
We've done some stuff like in America's with like, you know, like Native American.
We did stuff out in like the Navajo land, which like, you know, dates back.
There's a lot of structures out there that, you know, I don't know if you'd call
it ancient, but definitely like, you know, thousands of years old, uh, things like
that. Um, we've done stuff like we were in Romania and Dracula's castle.
That's, oh, that's in Romania. Yeah. That's cool. I might go there soon.
Oh yeah. It's definitely worth it.
I think Romania was probably one of my favorite countries I've ever been to.
I've heard great things.
Yeah.
Honestly, the food, like it's nothing special, but I remember, it sounds crazy,
but I remember eating a tomato.
I just ate it like an apple.
And I was like, this is the most amazing tomato I've ever had.
I could see that though, because I got like friends out there
and their grandparents still alive in their nineties,
like rocking.
Yeah, it's just, you know.
They're just healthy out there.
And what I noticed too is like going through,
you see homes and you know, in America,
everyone has like a nice manicured front lawn, you know,
and a backyard they can just like party or relax in.
But in Romania, like the front yard,
like there's vegetables growing.
Wow.
You know, the backyard,
like they're actually using the land to actually be beneficial to what they need, like by growing vegetables growing. Wow. You know, in the backyard, like they're actually using the land
to actually be beneficial to what they need,
like by growing vegetables and fruits and things,
not just for looks.
Yeah.
Which I thought that's really cool.
And I was like, that makes sense.
That's why even just a tomato is like, this is a real fresh tomato.
It's not covered in pesticides or chemicals or, you know,
it's not shipped, you know, from like hundreds of miles away, you know, things like that.
Like it's literally like they probably picked it out back and brought it to us.
One of the downsides of Vegas, we got to import everything, right?
Exactly. Yeah.
Damn, Romania. I can't wait to go now.
Yeah.
What other countries stood out to you?
Romania was cool. I mean, France was fun.
Like the culture there is really cool.
Paris is a cool city. We did stuff in London which was really cool. We did
these underground tunnels there. It was an old, basically a place
where the Hellfire Club would meet. Is that a secret society? Yeah it's basically a
secret society that exists. Maybe they still exist, I don't know.
They're doing well keeping the secret, I guess.
But like Benjamin Franklin was a member.
Really?
And you know, there's a lot of things.
It's kind of similar to like Illuminati type stuff.
Interesting.
They would do rituals.
But basically they dug into underneath the cemetery.
That's the thing with like, you know, you have all these like elite
people doing these things. It's like, do your thing. Like I'm not against you, but like you build it
under a cemetery, like purposely, like that's kind of weird. And then your design is like these like
shapes that are very like, you know, I don't want to say demonic, but they're like kind of
associated with like devil worship things like that
I don't really use shapes that you're creating or that and then you go down there and you do like hooded rituals like, you know
Sacrifice pigs and have like weird sex party orgies things like that
So there's these tunnels outside of London that we did which was really cool
We went down there and remember that being a really,
really cool spot.
Yeah.
And then we went and we did,
there was another fraction of the Hellfire Club in Ireland
and they had like a beading house up on top of this mountain.
We went up there and we got to investigate that,
which is basically ruins.
What was interesting about that, at another layer,
the ruins or not even the ruins,
but what they built the original building was
Was an ancient grave site. So like basically, you know ancient times
They built this grave site for people and they used all these rocks to like kind of build like not like a full temple
But it was like nice. Yeah, at least for ancient times
And then the Hellfire claim club came in
for ancient times. And then the Hellfire Club came in,
tore all that apart and literally built their clubhouse
out of these stones that were used
as this ancient burial site.
Whoa.
Yeah, so that place was really powerful in energy.
I bet.
Yeah, certain places.
Which actually I have a piece of that at my house.
Oh yeah, that's awesome.
Have you guys done Easter Island yet?
No.
That would be sick. That would be cool to see.
You guys should get out there. Yeah, I think that's awesome. Have you guys done Easter Island yet? No, that would be sick. You guys should get out there.
Yeah. I think that's another thing where like what we try to do too is like,
just try to figure out what really happened in places like something like
Easter Island.
Be like we can get communication and find out like what actually was going on
here and why are these things here?
Who were the people that really were doing this or, you know,
would be an incredible to do that.
You guys are phenomenal at the storytelling aspect with the build up. Yeah. It's impressive. Cause I mean, it's part of it or, you know, would be incredible to do that. You guys are phenomenal at the storytelling aspect.
Thanks. With the buildup.
Yeah, it's impressive because I mean, it's part of it though.
You know, it's part of knowing the history, knowing the stories helps us investigate better.
Right. You know, yeah, because a lot of people just show up and they will.
They'll like touch on it.
But you guys actually like have detailed events and everything.
Yeah, no, we'll dive deep into it and, you know, we'll do full research
even on the spot sometimes. Like we go into these with very little knowledge honestly, just maybe a couple
interviews set up, a couple notes of like basic history and then as we go and we start discovering
things we're literally doing it on the spot. Be like all right now we need to find, let's try to
track down this person now and let's do this and you know Zach would be like a lot of it falls on
me and we'd be like Jay, I need you to research this.
Or we just, we were in a location in the new season.
We do this place called the Rispin Mansion.
And we went in there.
It's an abandoned old mansion.
But when we went in there, we found out that like,
someone was breaking in there and doing rituals.
There was like symbols everywhere and stuff like that.
And like, we didn't know that going in.
Like we know that it was known for people breaking in and doing weird things, but we went in and found all this. And then right on the spot,. And like, we didn't know that going in. Like we know that it was known for people breaking in
and doing weird things,
but we went in and found all this.
And then right on the spot, I was like, I'm taking pictures.
And now I'm like, all right, now I'm gonna take some time,
you know, and like, you know,
they might be doing other interviews and I'm stepping away
and I'm, you know, trying to do research
and trying to find out exactly what these symbols are
and kind of dig deeper into
what somebody might be trying to do in there.
That's crazy. I remember one episode I saw you guys went to like the local library to read about the history of the building.
Yeah, yeah, we'll do that too.
This is crazy.
And I, you know, shout out to our production manager, you know, like who like literally like, I mean, all of us, we work together as a team, but like, there's times where we're like, all right, we need, we need a library, or is there like a local historian we can track down and you know they work magic
for us like I think our team is amazing like for like on the spot being like all right
give us some time and then like usually like within an hour like all right we got a spot
we can go do this we got someone we could talk to and you know and then there's other
times we just sometimes wander like we've grabbed cameras and literally just walk up
and down the street of the town and people come up to us and we're like, hey, have you heard of this spot?
Like do you know anything about it? And then some people like no or it's oh it's haunted
But then we'll find other people that are like, oh, yeah
Like this happened and that we don't even know Wow and they're like, yeah if you talk to this person and then we're like, alright
Now we got to find that person. It's like, you know real, you know real-time detective work. Yeah, that's cool
Where was the most on edge you felt like? Have you ever felt unsafe somewhere?
Oh yeah, 100%.
I mean, there's a lot.
I think still probably one of the most darkest,
I don't know, places that I feel like I've been
was like the Demon House in Mary, Indiana,
where Zach and I produced a documentary on it together.
Was that the one where you said
you felt like you time traveled in?
You went through a portal? Not that one. documentary on it together. Was that the one where you said you felt like you time traveled in?
You went through a portal.
Not that one. This one was, uh, so Zach bought this house.
Uh, basically it broke in the news that, uh,
like it was supposedly all these demons were living in there.
It was a family that, you know, uh, CPS had to investigate them cause the kids were coming to school with like
bruises and missing school and things. And then when they were investigated, they're like, it's a possession.
You know, so at first it's like, all right, you're just trying to get out of being in trouble.
But then CPS workers, they were investigated by the police, the chief of police, different detectives,
all experienced out insane paranormal activity while they were investigating this family in this house.
And even went to the hospital and like nurses and things witnessed this kid
walk backwards up a wall, you know, and like that was like supposedly possessed.
So this news story broke out and right away Zach was like, we got you got to
investigate this but like needs to be bigger. And it was cool because like he
made an offer and he ended up buying the house so we had access to it whenever we wanted and we basically went
there over the course of a couple years and made this documentary. We tracked
down everybody involved and talked to them and even during that like we were
constantly like getting hit with bad luck. Everyone that we brought into house
like we brought the chief of police or to come in or one of the detectives I
think it was to come in and kind of talk to us about what happened when he
came to the house. He leaves, he ends up right. Soon as he leaves, he's like,
calls us. He's like, Oh, I just slipped on ice and smacked my head.
I'm in the hospital. We're like, geez. We had, you know,
we put in security systems. We had like the internet installed,
things like that. Contractors were like, I just got no car crash, or the one guy that was doing inspection of the house,
just literally within a week was like,
yeah, I can't make it back, I'm in the hospital,
I just got diagnosed with some crazy cancer.
Holy crap.
All these things.
Too many coincidences.
Just kept happening around this house.
What happened to you?
It was just a depressing time
thankfully
I don't know, I mean it's hard to say
exactly but I know during that time
was probably one of the most
I'm a very happy chill
guy but I feel during that
time period I was just super depressed
damn, you know just felt
negative all the time
it was just a weird chapter.
And honestly, I'm so glad we're over
and you know, we've moved away from that.
Yeah.
Well, you're probably harder to penetrate
than that sounded wrong, but like,
you're probably harder to get like attacked
because you're so used to it.
Right, so used to it.
And just kind of, you know,
I've learned how to keep my guard up
and kind of know like, you know,
when I do feel something is affecting me
I'll take the steps that I know help me like you mentioned earlier like spending time in nature playing music or just
Creating art like just doing something that creates positive energy
This has been real fun. So new season drops soon. Anything else you want to go off with?
I know I mean April 16th 10 p.m
on Discovery it's definitely it's a wild one and I'm excited for everyone to finally be able to see
it. Yeah hold your guys house guys check it out thanks for coming back on man. Absolutely thank you. See you guys.
