Starting point is 00:00:00 Sports betting legend, right? King, number one. How's it been going this month? Killing it, killing it. Yeah? It seems like every time I go out of town, that's when I really... Interesting. Like, when I'm in L.A., I do alright, but when I'm out...
Starting point is 00:00:10 How long did it take you to get good at sports betting? Were you profitable the first year? No, I... I lost. I probably been betting 10 years, 8 years, something like that. I probably lost the first five. Holy... Holy. We are back.
Starting point is 00:00:41 I'm with my co-host, Wayne Lewis, today. What up, what up? It's been a while, and we got a guest today, Dalton Patterson. How's it going, man? What's up, man? How you doing? Good. Good. Sports betting legend, right?
Starting point is 00:00:48 Yeah, number one. How's it been going this month? I've been f***ed up. Yeah? It seems like every time I go out of town, that's when I really get f***ed up. Interesting. When I'm in LA, I do all right, but when I'm out of town, I just go crazy. I don't know why.
Starting point is 00:00:59 Is it because you're studying more? No, I'm actually studying less. So when you're out of town, what do you mean out of town? Here in Vegas, where the money energy is, or just in general? When I was in Mexico, I was going crazy. Okay. When I was here, I was going crazy. When I went to New Orleans last month, I went crazy.
Starting point is 00:01:14 When I'm out of town, I don't know why, I just win every time I'm out of town. Probably different. It's crazy. You betting on every sport? No, just football and basketball. Football and basketball? Yes, sir. So why those two and not every sport?
Starting point is 00:01:24 I don't watch baseball. I only bet on what I watch. And what type of bats are your favorite? Mostly spreads. Spreads? Spreads over-under. Over-under. Sometimes I do a few player props, but for the most part it's just those two.
Starting point is 00:01:37 And what goes into your decision-making process? Stats, past history, just how they've been performing the last 10 games. Um, it's a, it's a couple of different things. Injuries. Injuries. It's a lot of different things, bro. But I know it's sports betting. If you win over, what is it?
Starting point is 00:01:55 54% you're profitable. Yeah. I'll probably win like 70%. Holy crap. That's high. That's high. I think most, boarders, well, most sports bettors, their win margins are pretty high, right?
Starting point is 00:02:10 Well, that's where you want to be, right? If you're a winner. Right, if you're a winner. If you're a winner. If you're not a winner, ****. People that ain't really into it, like they ain't 20%, 30%. It's like when people get into the parlays, your winnings get lower because you've been so many things together but also you also bitten alternate spreads
Starting point is 00:02:33 at the same time for the most part so it's trying to make it easier for the hit but it's still hard to hit that right so it's like if you were to bet just straight spreads on your parlays it's still it's hard to hit half of it yeah that's a nice you got got to know how to pick them. Have you hit any nasty parlays? I don't really do parlays like that.
Starting point is 00:02:51 Yeah. When I first started betting, I was doing parlays, but for the most part, I don't really do them. Yeah, I feel like the odds are just way too hard on us. Some people are like,
Starting point is 00:02:59 they praise a parlay. Parlay P? Parlay P, praise, that's like his thing, bro. Parlay P's are like, that's like his thing. He make a living off of that. Him and my man S-Fly, they're both parlay.
Starting point is 00:03:14 I feel like sports bettors have beef with each other. I don't know why. It's enough. We can come together and really make some good picks, but I don't know why everybody want to be. It's crazy. Ego. Well, I just think clientele, too.
Starting point is 00:03:29 Everybody wants to be number one. Right. There's so many sports bettors. Now it's starting to really blow up. Because it's legal. Yeah. So everybody's starting to try to sell their picks. But do you feel like since it's gotten more legal the actual sports band
Starting point is 00:03:45 itself has gotten legal everywhere that the fix is more in now than ever nah I just feel like I just feel like people it's a lot of fake gurus are here to like I've heard story like people come to me and it was like bro dude got two group chats I'm like what you mean he like he sent half his pick he'll pick two sides of the game pick one side in one group chat put one side another group chat and whatever side hit they'll post that winner wow how effective is that no how effective is that it's not effective because you got one side losing you got one one group of clients so no matter what you're a winner because you got one side losing and one side winning. You got one group of clients complaining. So no matter what, you're a winner because you pick both sides. Oh, is that why you see those crazy win streaks people post?
Starting point is 00:04:34 That was insane to me when somebody told me that. I couldn't believe that. Because people post their betting records, and it's always some absurd stats like 105. 105 and 10. It's impossible, bro. For real. Anybody say they 50 and 10. It's impossible, bro. For real. Anybody say they 50 and 2, I don't believe it.
Starting point is 00:04:49 You got to show me. It's impossible. What would you say sets you apart from all the other sports bettors? Like what makes you special in a way that you do things? I just keep – I'm transparent with everything, bro. Like I might not – like nobody's going to sit here and post their losses all day like like I don't want I don't want to remind myself that I lost and my subscribers gonna be reminded that they lost but you know I'm just transparent and telling them with the pick like not I'm big on not over betting so like keep like stay under
Starting point is 00:05:18 control because once you start getting out of control that's that's when they really get bad so like yeah you can stop the parlays and stay under control with your management and hit consistently, you're going to make money. You bet the same amount every bet? Usually, yeah. Unless it's like a – sometimes if it's like a Super Bowl or like a big game, I'll just – I'll do more because it's just more exciting. But for the most part, it's pretty much the same unit every game.
Starting point is 00:05:39 What amount is that? Usually around $5,000 a game. A game? Yeah. So how many games are you doing a day about? This depends. I try to stay around like 5 3 to 5
Starting point is 00:05:49 25K a day keep the doctors away when I make them videos yeah that's not bad 7 out of 10 is a lot man
Starting point is 00:06:00 so you're winning 3 or 4 a day yeah since I've been in Vegas since I've been here the last three days, I'm like eight and two. Wow.
Starting point is 00:06:07 So sportsbooks probably hate you. Yeah, I got disabled on two of them, on Bovada and Ballon Line. Wow, for real? Yeah. They shut me down because they thought, so basically, they thought I was taking the same bet on multiple accounts,
Starting point is 00:06:23 because you know there's a limit on one account. But I got so many accounts following my thing, they're like soon as soon as I put it in everybody's putting it so they think that it's you it's me doing it on like thousands of accounts so people can see your bets yeah so when I well I posted my chat I take my picture first myself posted a chat then everybody else go takes takes it right behind me but it's like they thought I was taking it on
Starting point is 00:06:46 thousands of accounts wow that's crazy it's impossible so they locked my account for like two weeks I'm like bro that's not me
Starting point is 00:06:52 you can call them people that's them what's the biggest day you've had my biggest bet that I probably did probably was like 40 or 50 thousand
Starting point is 00:07:01 that's not bad just on one single game see most sports bettors probably been like yeah I did like 500k in one day I That's not bad Just on one single game See most sports Sports bettors Probably be like Yeah I did like 500k in one day I don't see the point In betting that much bro
Starting point is 00:07:09 Unless you like A billionaire It's too risky You bet 500k on a game And you only got 5 million You betting 10% Of your whole net worth
Starting point is 00:07:18 On one game That's not guaranteed It looked good on paper Until they lose You know Yeah when Mozzie said 1.2 I was like bro And he said he didn.2, I was like, bro.
Starting point is 00:07:25 And he said he didn't have anxiety. I was like, what? That's crazy. I mean, if he got 50 to 100 million, have at it. It's tough to picture someone having that much in that industry. Well, I mean, I believe it's possible. It's possible. It's definitely possible.
Starting point is 00:07:40 But with management and saving, you got to win a lot. You have to win a lot. Because losing is always – it happens. You can think it's guaranteed, bro, and it's never guaranteed. But I feel like it's just hard because don't they cap your bet size? They do. So if you bet that much, you got to have at least 10, 15 books where you can bet $100,000 each. Right.
Starting point is 00:08:00 So if you can spread it out – I mean, if you're in Vegas, it's a little bit easier because you can go to the casino and just You know do what you do in casinos, but when you in a state where you can't really bet I can't use FanDuel I mean, I'm in California. No FanDuel, no DraftKings, none of that. So I can only use BetOnline and Boada So a prize picks man, but I don't really do that. You only charge, what do you charge a month for your soaps? So right now I'm at 50 a month, which is cheaper than anybody ever in the industry, bro. And I was charging $20 a month at first. Bro, I would try that. My subscription got maxed out.
Starting point is 00:08:36 It wasn't able to accept more people inside that subscription. So I got a new one. So right now I'm at like almost 5,000 to 6,000 people. Holy. Paying $50 a month Bro $20 and then Some people are on the $50 plan
Starting point is 00:08:48 Yo that ends every month Every month Dude that's That's cash flow That's good money It's good money And I feel like I'm helping people Because everybody can't afford
Starting point is 00:08:56 To pay $500 for a pic $50 a month That's McDonald's That's Netflix Whatever Yeah That's what $2 a day $3 a day three three dollars a day
Starting point is 00:09:06 pretty much as cheap as i've heard vegas dave charges a lot oh my god 1500 1500 or something yes for one bet for one so you gotta bet like 5k to make it literally you know to make some money yeah and that's if he winning i don't know if he winning yeah what if you lose the bet no lie bro one time i uh hit him for a UFC bet or one of those bets. He's like, yeah, lay 5K on it. Bro, in 10 seconds, the dude that I bet on got knocked out. Oh, my gosh. It was the fastest loss.
Starting point is 00:09:32 I was like, yo, this is crazy. I've had – I was at a studio with a rapper. I'm not going to say who it was, but he was telling me about this one guy he bets with. And he was like, yeah, I was betting with him, bro. And I bet with him like five or ten times. And him a thousand each time i lost every one i'm like yo i like the 50 because even if you lose they're not gonna be pissy 50 a month you you literally get 30 days bro yeah 30 days to so how much should they actually so that 50 can potentially be 35 000. it can be whatever you bet. Whatever your unit size is, bro.
Starting point is 00:10:06 50 is to join my group. Once you're in my group, you get all of my plays. You get all of my plays. If you're betting right, you can potentially make $5,000, $6,000 a month. Easy. And you're betting every day, even weekends? Every day that there's basketball, football, or basketball or football. NFL or NCAA.
Starting point is 00:10:24 Wow. And what about regular season versus playoffs? Are you better at a certain style? I'm better, I'm usually better at the beginning of the season.
Starting point is 00:10:31 Regular season? Beginning of the season is when you really can make a lot of money because the books are not really hip to what all the teams are going to do.
Starting point is 00:10:38 So if you're really tuned in, you can kind of get Yeah, because their algorithms can't predict that early. Right. Like the first four,
Starting point is 00:10:44 five weeks is a little off. Yeah, because they don't know how early Right Like the first Four or five weeks Is a little off Yeah Because they don't know How good Victor Wemendai Is going to be Or anything Yeah
Starting point is 00:10:49 Yeah Who do you think Is going to the Super Bowl This year That's tough That's tough The Niners could go I think
Starting point is 00:11:01 The Eagles could definitely go I like the Ravens And Niners I like the Eagles could definitely go. I like the Ravens and Niners. I like the Ravens. I like that repeat. We haven't had that in a while. They just so sometimesy. That's the fact.
Starting point is 00:11:18 Like one week they'll play good, the next week they'll lose to anybody. To the Sacramento. To anybody. Sacramento Kings. They'll lose to anybody. Yeah. What about the Chiefs? I like the Chiefs. I'd tell them. Anybody. Yeah. What about the Chiefs? I like the Chiefs.
Starting point is 00:11:27 I like Mahomes. Kelsey has been playing pretty good. Yeah. I feel like they're distracted right now. Dude, I can't stand Kelsey's antics off the field or not. I think even in college, I think that Colorado did a lot better, but they're just too distracted by the media. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:43 Oh, you feel like they would do better? Colorado, I think they would do a lot better. Yeah, they're choking certain games. I don't feel like they're going to win another game, bro. But you think about it, you go to a game day
Starting point is 00:11:50 and you hanging around rappers all day, you're not locked in and then you just go into the game. If they were really locked in, I think they would be
Starting point is 00:11:58 having a lot better season for sure. But I think that this year is about culture building and getting all of our attention on them. I think next year they'll do a lot better,
Starting point is 00:12:04 maybe. But they aren't going to bring attention regardless. You think so think so yeah you think they'll make money because they had to pay that guy a lot they made 90 million the first couple games they made 90 million yeah they made that money back first season that money's back wow because i think he signed four year 30 30 a year or 30 total? Total. Four years 30. Oh, so they already made it back. Yeah. I mean, it was on primetime almost every game when they were getting s***.
Starting point is 00:12:31 So that's going to be. And all his endorsements deal, all those sponsorships, the glasses, all that stuff. That's like them recuperating those funds and helping him get to that margin. So we're about to see colleges doing that all the time now. Literally. They're going to hire the best coaches. They want to get. I feel like they want to get popular people more than just even the best coach. Because Deion, he was – I mean, he was a good coach at Jackson State,
Starting point is 00:12:53 but he's new. But he has a lot of attention behind him. Right, so like retired athletes will go off there that are famous. Yeah, that's smart. How long did it take you to get good at sports betting? Were you profitable the first year? No. I lost.
Starting point is 00:13:08 I probably been betting 10 years, 8 years, something like that. I probably lost the first five. Holy. How many times did you want to quit? I quit a couple times when I came back. I quit a couple times. But it was always like the parlays, bro. Oh, okay.
Starting point is 00:13:23 I was doing mostly strictly just parlay oh the part i was doing like mostly strictly just parlay like i wasn't really doing straights like that yeah i've learned over time that even if you bet small units it's gonna add up over time yeah you're just doing parlays and you're losing every like you almost every day you just lose like that it take a toll on your brain like even just seeing a single win, it just does something to you. But like, I know how people like parlays because they see that small number turn into that big number.
Starting point is 00:13:50 And it's just like... Has anybody ever given you money to turn into more money from? No, I don't take people's money. Oh, you don't bet for people? No, I ain't doing that. Oh, okay. I give you the pick,
Starting point is 00:13:59 you go put it out. Oh, okay. Yeah, it's less risk on your end, I think. Yeah, I don't deal with none of it. Nah, I'm cool. Do you watch every single game you bet on? No. oh okay yeah it's less risk on your end i think yeah i won't deal with none of it i don't know i'm cool yeah do you watch every single game you bet on no probably watch i got three monitors at
Starting point is 00:14:11 my house i watch a couple games but for the most part i don't really watch them all i'll go out i go have a drink go to the pool whatever but my time definitely not watching the game you got a good lifestyle man not many jobs you can just do whatever you want. But if a person that wants to actually get into sports betting and do it professionally full-time, what advice would you have for them? Like how do you actually, like, develop a skill set and get really good at it? I think sometimes you just have it or you don't have it. You can do a lot of studying, but I think if you have a a background of sports and you played you probably do a little
Starting point is 00:14:48 better um but it's it's hard bro it's it's not easy at all like all the study in the world sometimes don't help yeah i think there's a reason the sports books are the ones making the money and and it's it's very, like, you got to have discipline, bro. Like, you don't have discipline.
Starting point is 00:15:08 Like, they'll win 10 games and then 11 games, bet it all on one game and lose that one. That's the one they thought that was guaranteed. Like,
Starting point is 00:15:14 you can't, you got to have discipline. If you don't have money management, it's a wrap for you. So what's your definition of money management when it comes to sports betting? So sticking to your unit size until you
Starting point is 00:15:25 build up big enough to up your unit size. So I just say if it's 100 a game, stick to that 100 a game until you get to a point where you can do it 200 a game. Don't win 10 games straight and then, okay, I'm going to just up my unit size. It don't work like that. Gotcha. You got to stay
Starting point is 00:15:42 disciplined. Got to stay disciplined. How long does it take you to make a pick like are you deciding quick or are you spending like an hour like an hour okay so you're doing some diligence I can decide in about an hour
Starting point is 00:15:50 30 minutes to an hour is that for one pick or all of them all of them how many do you put out every day like I said about about five
Starting point is 00:15:57 three to five that's just not good I mean college football on a Saturday I might do a little more because there's a lot more games but I catch myself sometimes trying to do extra. I'm like, nah, I just got to stick to what I do.
Starting point is 00:16:09 You're disciplined. Like you said, yeah. You got to be disciplined. And then you got to not revenge bet too. So you might be having a bad day. You don't want to be losing four, five games. And then you're just like, I'm going to just pick a game. You ain't do no research.
Starting point is 00:16:25 You just pick a game. Just pick one. Just trying to make your money back. It's a good way to get cooked. Getting tilted, they call it in poker. Have you ever put a bet in? I used to do FanDuel. I got wrecked in college, so I deleted it.
Starting point is 00:16:38 Oh, for real? Yeah. That shit's addicting, bro. It's very addicting, for sure. Yeah, they make that shit. That's why people pay people, because they don't want to quit. Yeah. But they also lose at the same time.
Starting point is 00:16:49 So like, I'm going to pay somebody so I can get some action. And it was actually crazy. My friend in college had an algorithm for FanDuel. He had a 57 win percent using like spreadsheet algorithm. I was like, wow. Yo, there's a dude using AI to sports bet. I don't know if they're going ban it soon but yeah he's using is it working though for him he said he's the last couple like two weeks he's been putting it
Starting point is 00:17:12 in there and it's been somewhat on point wow yeah I don't know how they gonna regulate that how you feel about that I mean I feel like sometimes like I said you don't need you don't need to know who's on a team sometimes you You can look at the numbers and make a prediction off of that for the most part. Yeah, that's a good point. AI is crazy. That's crazy. Yeah. It's scary.
Starting point is 00:17:31 No, that's a good point because sometimes you have an attachment with certain players, so you want to bet on them, right? Yeah. I don't bet on my teams. Oh, you don't? Usually, yeah. Who's your teams? Football, I'm an Atlanta fan.
Starting point is 00:17:41 Okay. Hopkins? Yeah. Sheesh. All right, we'll get rid of that. Go get a new quarterback. I'm over that. Get an O-line and get a quarterback.
Starting point is 00:17:48 What about basketball? Who you at? Basketball, I'm a Curry fan. So by default, I'm a Warriors fan. But if he leaves, I'm out. I like the Warriors too a lot. I like the Warriors a lot. You saw what Draymond just did?
Starting point is 00:17:57 I love what Draymond did. That was crazy. You said you love it? I love what Draymond did. Why you love it? Because it just shows. He always doing some crazy stuff. Draymond is such a a dog and believe it or not
Starting point is 00:18:06 although he's only scoring about four to ten points a game the warriors need him he definitely and i hate it i hate the fact that they do need them but i see why they need them i mean think about it sean you got curry giving you 30 clay claire give you 30 on any he has so many other players that can score draymond it's not a score And I can't figure out what it is that he actually does. Draymond is going to do the dirty work. He's going to do the dirty work. But he does the dirty work. He gets the rebounds. He can run the ball up the court.
Starting point is 00:18:30 He's the aggressor. Defending. Yeah. These guys stay under control sometimes. I mean, you got to defend your teammate. That is your team. But choking him out is crazy. No.
Starting point is 00:18:38 Choking him out is crazy. He tried to tap off. He had the mean face. Yeah. That was crazy. It seemed like it was built up tension or something. Yeah. He wasn't mean face. Yeah, that shit was crazy. It seemed like it was built up tension or something.
Starting point is 00:18:47 Yeah, yeah. He wasn't trying to let him go either. Something going on. It was two minutes in the game. He always doing something
Starting point is 00:18:54 like when he stepped on dude, I forgot what game it was. When he stepped like, that was crazy. LeBron? No, that wasn't LeBron. Sabonis.
Starting point is 00:19:00 From Kings, I think. He stepped on his chest. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. That was crazy. No, LeBron stepped over him. Yeah, yeah. No, he stepped on he stepped on his chest stepped on him oh yeah yeah yeah that was crazy lebron stepped over him yeah yeah no he stepped on like on his chest i saw that on his
Starting point is 00:19:10 chest but would the warrior still be the warriors without draymond nah i think they were still they wouldn't be as good but they would still be they would still be the world the fact that they wouldn't be as good is just crazy to me because there's so much stars on that team i like the fact that they they built together yeah like they came in together they stayed together and they stayed together I don't like I'm not really a big LeBron fan I already like the way he went to Miami and you know he ran to get a chip and then come back to get my own like you gotta do it that's how I feel about Katie you know for all I think Katie is stuck now yeah I think he still wouldn't have one if he didn't come to the Warriors at all all. I don't think he would have had one, yeah.
Starting point is 00:19:45 No, he still wouldn't have one. Who you got winning NBA this season? That's tough. It's pretty early, so. No, it's hard to tell who's really good. The Mavericks are looking good. Dallas, I was going to say Dallas looks good. I like, like I said, I'm always like my Warriors.
Starting point is 00:20:02 I like the Celtics. I feel like. Celtics are good, yeah. The Nuggets are going to make a run. I like the Nuggets. The Celtics got Porzingis, right? Yeah, Porzingis. The Sixers have been playing pretty good since they got rid of Harden. I think Harden is a c**t to whatever team he goes to.
Starting point is 00:20:19 They haven't won a game since he got there, bro. It's crazy. I think he's done. On paper, you're looking at it like, this is it. This is it. They got P.J. Tucker, him. He might have to come off the bench. Bro.
Starting point is 00:20:31 I think he needs to come from home. It seems like wherever he goes, it just seems to just fall apart, bro. I don't know. I think he's past his prime. What is he, like 34 now? Yeah. Ambassador, that's old. Certain players just don't play good together. Him and Westbrook are not going That's old Certain players Don't play good together
Starting point is 00:20:45 Like him and Westbrook Not gonna play good But he doesn't play good Together with anybody bro He was decent on the Rockets Early days He was He had the Rockets
Starting point is 00:20:53 He was by himself He was by himself It's like when Westbrook By himself He plays great Put him on the team Right now by himself He's gonna play
Starting point is 00:21:00 But he has the ball a lot When you don't have His ball as much It's a little bit harder To still maintain What you've been doing. They look so good on paper, though. On paper, that team is it.
Starting point is 00:21:09 It's an all-star team. The Lakers look good on paper, too. The Lakers, too. That's true, but they're not that good. They got Glassman over there. They just lost to the Kings last night. Well, they got beat by 15, but the Kings are actually really, really good. The Kings are good, though.
Starting point is 00:21:21 That's like second. They're like, to me, off. But on paper, that team is supposed to be a winning team, bro. The Lakers? The Lakers. They're supposed to be winning, bro. With who, though? With what player on that team?
Starting point is 00:21:31 LeBron and KD together is supposed to, on paper, is supposed to be a thing. They want a chip, yeah. But I feel like. In the bubble, though, Sean. Yeah, but I feel like two isn't enough these days. Two all-stars. How many do you think you need? Three.
Starting point is 00:21:44 Think about it. Yeah. Nuggets had Aaron Gordon, Jokic, and Jamal Murray, and Michael Porter. And Michael Porter. This is crazy how we have – And they got Pope. What's his name? Oh, Caldwell Pope.
Starting point is 00:21:55 They got like four or five players over there. Exactly. These days you need more than two, I think. And they got my young boy now, Julian Strasburg. It's mind-breaking how they have so many teams with so many superstars now. because back in the day used to have like one on his team one of the team like like five and at least now it's like every team almost almost every team got at least two it's stacked now it's crazy yeah so what what with the lakers so you said they need one more player lakers they probably need a shooter right i think like a sniper? AD is not reliable, I feel like.
Starting point is 00:22:25 I feel like LeBron sometimes don't give it his all. I've never bet on LeBron because you never know. I get it, but if you're tired, just sit down. Just sit down, bro. He doesn't play D anymore. It's like any given game, he gives you 30. But his overrun is at 23, 22. It's like, he might not feel like playing.
Starting point is 00:22:48 He might give you 15. Yeah. Yeah, he doesn't try on defense anymore. Sometimes you can see him walking around the court sometimes. Like, he just – you can see the age getting to him. Yeah. So, question. Back to you.
Starting point is 00:23:00 So, you bought the Lambo truck off of your sports bet winnings? Yeah. How much was that? I put $100 down. Wow. That's crazy. I paid $224, $100 down. Dude, I overpaid for my Tesla.
Starting point is 00:23:13 I just saw how much I paid yesterday. $71K. $71? They're worth $25 now. When did you buy it? At the peak, like two years ago. Elon dropped the price by like 60%. I was so pissed.

Starting point is 00:24:02 To pay for the car And then you might not get it Yeah That's crazy And now they said If you sell it they they're fining you 50k right yeah you can't sell it you can't sell people were selling their things for like 200 right that's insane dude it's been fun anything you want to close off with or promote uh i don't know man y'all go subscribe we get the pics man we're gonna we've been eating inside bro we're gonna get this money i've been been all over doing a bunch of podcasts
