Who's the better cook?
Oh, that's easy.
Yeah.
I'm not a great cook, but I'm the better cook.
I'm not a cook at all.
But they love seeing him cook on our channel.
They like to see me try.
But to be honest, because we have this irreverent approach, we don't try to be perfect.
We show the mistakes.
Sometimes it turns out to be a disaster and we just, we're honest about it.
All right, guys, we got Kyle and Misty Knight here, social media superstars and entertainers.
Thanks for coming on, guys.
Thanks for having us.
Yeah, you've got quite a crazy story traveling to 86 countries performing, right?
Yeah, we started this journey together over 20 years ago.
He'd been a performer his whole life, and I joined the show from a tiny town in Mississippi.
And I just left everything and moved to Las Vegas.
And we just started these adventures, and we were performing all over the world
and performing for corporate events here in Las Vegas and cruises for many years as well.
Worked with Disney Cruise Line.
And now we've settled into being content creators and influencers in addition to that.
What a transition, right?
COVID happened and that's kind of what sparked it.
100%.
That was the moment of change.
That was a fork in the road right there, COVID.
We had always had a trend of
learning to evolve and adapt with whatever was given our situation. And whenever COVID hit,
all the theaters closed. And for a lot of performers, it was devastating, but we just
knew we had to shift. And so we started making virtual shows where we would have interactive
magic shows that we would provide for companies. We did shows for Amazon, Google, other big names
like that. And then we also tapped into making content for the internet
because social media just came alive during that time.
And we decided it was the perfect chance for me
to finally have my childhood dream of a cooking show come about.
And that's just blown up.
And so now we do magic incorporated into our cooking show.
We have one of the most unique cooking shows in the world, I think.
We put random stuff in.
If there's not something in left field in this cooking show, it's not.
It's definitely new viewers watch us and think, okay, this is off.
There's some weird stuff because we have hidden Easter eggs all over our kitchen.
There's just funny out there moments. And then I'll make eggs appear.
We did a trick where Kyle would have an egg floating in
the stream of water and it started a TikTok trend. It got like 8 million viewers and everybody was
breaking eggs in their sinks. That's unique. 8 million followers, right? We have about 8 million
across platform between Facebook. So Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube. Insane. And 10 billion
views total. Yeah. Over 10 billion. I stopped counting, but I think that's where we were at last time I counted. Yeah. That's a lot of eyeballs. Did
you guys expect this to take off like it did? I don't think we had any idea it was going to
blow up like this. I thought this would be a thing we do for a short time after COVID until
the theaters reopened, but there's no reason for us to go back and do touring anymore.
And it's just, it's really cool that I'm able to, because when we were touring with our show, Living Out of a Suitcase, I really didn't have an opportunity to get in the kitchen and properly cook like I've always wanted to.
This gave me the chance to do that, but also entertain people at the same time.
And it's really cool because we're able to share our magic with a whole new audience that wouldn't have necessarily been a magic fan.
Right. It's a younger crowd on social media.
On TikTok and Instagram it is. But then on Facebook, it's actually an older crowd.
So we've got a lot of moms and grandmas that are, we're their daily show.
You know, they look forward to getting a recipe and seeing some magic.
It's cool to see you guys adapt because a lot of performers rely on the in-person experiences.
Yeah, we, you know, it definitely was a shock whenever all that was taken away.
But being able to connect with people through the internet opened so many doors. And so I'm just really grateful that we were able to shift because our whole career path now has
got, you know, limitless opportunities now because of the change.
Absolutely. So what was the show you guys were performing?
Well, we used to do a magic show, a big magic illusion show. We had produced motorcycles and
we disappeared from one place and reappeared in the audience. And we did close-up magic and
all, you know, we worked for Disney.
We worked for Royal Caribbean, did casinos.
We had shows in Dubai and Egypt and Macau.
We were at a casino there for a while.
So we would do private events and also headline in the Walt Disney Theater
on cruises and different cruise lines.
But we slowly kind of made the show a little bit smaller
rather than about the big illusions,
more just about the personality and the interaction between us and the interaction with the audience. It's always
been very much about them. We kind of have an irreverent attitude toward it too. We don't take
ourselves too seriously. And we were able to take that style of entertainment and bring it into the
kitchen in our social media show. And we still do corporate events now here in Las Vegas often
whenever companies come to town. But for the most part, you can find us online.
I love it.
And you guys went on Penn & Teller too, right?
Yeah, we were on Penn & Teller Fool Us Season 2.
And we were on Wizard Wars, which we – I'll let you tell that.
Wizard Wars was on Sci-Fi Channel.
It aired just before Fool Us.
In fact, the producers of Fool Us saw us on Wizard Wars and then invited us on the show.
And we fooled Penn & Teller on Wizard Wars and won the whole thing.
That's cool.
Yeah.
Kyle actually.
Fooled them with an egg.
Really?
Took one of the judges' rings and it reappeared behind them inside an egg.
And they cracked it open.
I created this egg trick like literally like a couple nights before filming.
It never even worked in the rehearsal.
But it's a really cool.
You describe it better than I do.
Well, you did a good job describing it.
It was – they didn't know how we did it.
Whenever we were all – we ended up winning the $10,000 grand prize.
And after the show, Teller, who actually does talk, he said, can I have a guess?
And he guessed wrong.
Wow.
So that was fun.
But it was –
And it didn't work in rehearsal, so you didn't even know if it was going to work or not.
We were not – that's pretty much half our career. We don even know if it was going to work or not. We were not,
that's pretty much half our career.
We don't know if it's going to work or not. We just keep going.
That's respect though.
Cause some people fear that getting made fun of on stage if they mess up.
And that's why we try not to take ourselves too seriously because the
performers are just people and our audience,
they're rooting for you to succeed.
If you get on the level with them and just,
we're in this together,
we're just having experience together. Then, you know, you're you're able to roll with it whenever things get thrown your way.
Because showbiz will definitely prove. And it's tough now because of social media,
people are revealing how to do these tricks. So it makes it tough for you guys, right?
Yeah. You'll see people revealing stuff. But to be honest, I'm not too worried about it. Magic
isn't real. We're not trying to convince anybody it is. We're just using it as a tool to be able to entertain and just
make the day easier, you know? We always had an irreverent style anyway. We would expose
things in our own show. Like sawing in half was probably one of the best things we had. One of
the highlights in the show was we'd expose an old version of sawing in half where there's a woman
on both sides of the boxes and she's curled up and they show the fake legs. Yeah. He would talk about, you know, this
is how you used to do sawing in half. And there's one curled up on this side and one curled up on
this side. And he said, but if you look closer, there's actually two. And then he would pull out
a pair of fake legs and say, we're not even going to use these tonight. So we kind of, you know,
hit it head on. We know what you're thinking. Magic isn't real. That's right. But that doesn't mean that you can't suspend your
disbelief and go on this journey with us and just have fun with it. So. And I think David Blaine
does a good job with that, right? Oh, fantastic. You guys are on his team as well. We are part of
his magic team. Yeah, we've been working with him about a year and a half now. Las Vegas Run shows.
Nice. Sold out. Sold out it's a it's a great experience
and it's just fun to be part of it yeah and he's just a he's just a really cool guy that loves
magic he's he's very chill and he has that same approach in his show where you know it's the whole
audience is there just experiencing this with him it's very much about them rather than about him
yeah and that's why i respect him because he was doing magic before the money was there right
like 20 30 years ago yep doing it on the money was there, right? Yeah. Like 20, 30 years ago.
Yep.
Doing it on the street.
Yeah.
He really started
a whole new genre of magic
and it's an honor
to be able to work
so closely with him.
He's a great guy.
Yeah.
Did you guys have mentors
in magic growing up?
I mean,
when I was growing up,
it was Copperfield.
Yeah.
I remember watching
David Copperfield,
legend.
It's funny
because I was a little kid.
I remember looking at Copperfield's TV shows and following along the screen with the mind reading at home.
But I just got thrown into magic whenever I was in my early 20s and never looked back.
Like your parents?
No, him.
I'm from a tiny town in Mississippi.
I met him and fell in love and actually met him on a cruise where he was performing.
And today's our wedding anniversary too. Congrats. But I canceled my flight home. She actually never on a cruise where he was performing. And today's our wedding anniversary too.
But I canceled my flight home.
She actually never saw my show when I was performing.
Don't be telling stories, Ari.
She missed my show that night because she was partying in Cozumel or something like that.
Wow.
And so she never saw the show, but we still kept in touch after.
So you met at the bar.
We met at the bar, very much.
No, we...
You're in trouble. We, uh,
I was on vacation and I did not see his show, but I didn't know that this was going to be my future
husband. We kept in touch over the phone for almost a year. Wow. And I came to visit him in
Vegas and canceled my flight home. Incredible. Everybody back in Mississippi just thought I was
crazy, but I've always kind of been somebody to just go for it. Yeah. Cause magic's probably not
big in Mississippi, right?
No, no.
Definitely not a lot of opportunity there.
But Vegas led to some opportunities with Magic and networking and working in corporate events.
So here we are.
Vegas is the hub of Magic, right?
Yeah.
It's considered the Magic capital of the world by some.
And it's great because there's a lot of other performers that we work with.
In addition to our own show, we're also agents and managers for a dozen other performers around the world.
So many of those are magicians that are here in Las Vegas.
So we act as consultants and agents for them as well.
How possible is it to make a living being a magician these days?
I think it's probably more possible now than ever because you've got the opportunity to use social media, which didn't exist before.
You've got the opportunity for close-up magic, for stage performances.
It's definitely a more opportunistic genre,
but it's not something that most people are willing to dedicate enough to
to get to the level of making a good living with it.
Yeah, I agree with you.
A lot of people, they don't have the right direction.
A lot of, if somebody new is getting into this, they maybe don't have the right direction
and follow the right path to do the right things.
That's where we come in.
We have all these years of experience that we can help guide, that we can help their
career.
Yeah, we enjoy, you know, taking people that are just starting out and using the experience
that we've had with the 20 years in the industry and as consultants and agents and managers and just helping start their career path on the right
direction. And it's really fulfilling to be able to kind of pass the torch. And now we only do the
gigs that we want to do, you know, the jobs that we want, the places we want to go, or if it's
enough money that we want to go, you know. What were your favorite places looking back at your
career to visit? Going to Egypt was definitely a bucket list. I'm going there this year.
Yeah, we got to see the pyramids.
And we had some crazy experiences there.
And performing for the locals there was really amazing.
I try to learn a little bit of the language everywhere we go
just to greet them and thank them.
And they were so receptive to that.
And I was a little nervous going.
You know, we'd been to Dubai before,
but that's a little different than Egypt.
Yeah, we were surrounded with armed guards the whole time.
It was just like, you know, they really wanted to make sure we were safe.
But the people were so welcoming and kind.
So I really appreciated that.
Shout out to Egyptians, man.
I can't wait to go.
I'm going with Billy Carson this year.
And I'm going to visit the pyramids.
Did you have any mystical experiences?
You want to tell them what happened with you?
In the sarcophagus?
Yeah, tell them.
Yeah, so we actually, we were on this, we were treated like, you know, like rock stars when we were there.
We got VIP treatment.
They took us into the sarcophagus and we got to lay down into this.
He said, do you want to go inside?
And he said, are you serious?
It was just us.
It was a private guide.
Nobody else was in this tomb but us.
And he said, here, you can go in and I'll take a picture.
So we have a picture of Kyle lying in the sarcophagus. So hopefully he didn't get cursed or anything. Hopefully not. It's been good so far. So yeah, you got to kill
it. I can't wait to see where there's cooking show takes you guys. It is funny how the cooking
show has just taken off. We, uh, we were originally on Facebook. Our page was already verified at
15,000 followers from our magic appearances on TV and things and people that had seen our live show. And that was in August of two years
ago. And then by January of that following year, it was at 2 million followers. So it grew that
fast organically. Crazy. We were getting 100 million views a week easily. And this was just,
it was just us showing quick and easy recipes. Not to the extent that I would ever call myself
a chef, but definitely easy recipes that are for people that don't really know how to cook with a bunch of entertainment thrown in.
We put like random things in the refrigerator.
Like yesterday we were filming and we had a pot on the stove behind her.
And I cut a hole in the pot and I had my arm through and had like a –
It's like something climbing out of the pot.
Climbing out of the pot.
So I just have random weird stuff in this all the time. And it's,
and so it's obviously a lot of fun and it's allowing me to kind of live out this dream
that I've always had where I wanted to truly be able to get in the kitchen and have a cooking
show. And it's led to some great opportunities. I can't talk about it yet, but I've got a big TV
appearance coming up that came directly from our cooking show. So we hear more about that next year.
But in the meantime, we're working with brands where I'm really thrilled to be partnering with brands like Hungry Root and, you know,
promoting their brands as influencers. So that's something that we're expanding more on as well.
Yeah. Those meal prep companies have gotten better because I used to order them like years ago and it
wasn't that good, but now they've stepped up their game. Yeah. I love partnering with brands like
that, that we, you know, already like to work with already. It's something that I would have paid for.
And now they found us on social media and they said, you're a great fit for us.
So let's have a long-term partnership.
And the money on Facebook is good too, right?
Yeah.
And TikTok is getting better now.
Yeah.
We're in a unique situation because some influencers are just doing brand deals.
But we also are monetizing our videos with in-stream ads.
And so that allows for great income monthly. We could rely just on that, but we've never been somebody to kind of take it easy.
So we, we've got five things going at once all the time. I don't know if you've noticed the
TikTok payouts lately, but they're way better than they used to be. Well, they, the, the,
I, I was having a great time with TikTok over the last few months, but then they changed it to the new creator fund instead of creativity beta.
And the value of the views for payouts has gone down considerably.
Oh, it has?
It used to be about $300 or $400 per million, and now it's like a third of that from what I'm seeing.
I didn't notice that.
Yeah, my payout a couple months ago was crazy, though.
But that's the previous month.
Those were good.
This month is looking like it's not as good.
But the good thing is that I'm not relying on any one platform.
We've got content on Facebook, TikTok.
We have multiple pages on Facebook.
We have some pages that are just for magic and puzzles.
Yeah.
And then we have others that are cooking specific.
And then YouTube is, we've got a couple hundred thousand followers on YouTube as well.
It's good.
And I just started building Instagram.
Yeah.
And yeah, it's exciting to see where this is going to take us.
Yeah.
Instagram just launched monetization a couple months ago.
Yeah. We were able to get an invite for that. So it's nice to be able to see the views get rewarded.
Yeah, absolutely. With your talent, what's the kind of the main goal with that? Do you want to
build a roster and then get acquired one day? I'm really enjoying just all these different
aspects of being in the entertainment industry. I love, you know, mentoring and,
you know, being an agent and a manager for other performers. So I do think we'll definitely have
part of that be our focus, but I'm excited mostly to continue with the content creation and work
with brands and work with brands as an influencer, but also work with companies to provide entertainment
for their corporate events. Cause we've got all this experience as performers as well.
And it's a unique situation because we've got all this experience as performers as well. And it's a unique situation
because we've got these two different industries now
that can meld.
I'm excited to do some cooking,
you know, some cooking corporate shows.
I would love to be able to perform for a corporate event
that was maybe in the food industry.
And so we can have both worlds combined.
In fact, we're thinking about going back on fool us
with a new routine that's a cooking magic routine that'd be cool because they've seen everything by
now so you're gonna need to do something crazy yeah we've got some tricks up our sleeve i love
it who's the better cook oh that's easy yeah i'm not a great cook but i'm the better cook
i'm not a cook at all but they love seeing him cook on our channel. They love to see me try. Every now and then, he'll do one, and they are just rooting him on.
Cooking's tough, man.
But to be honest, because we have this irreverent approach, we don't try to be perfect.
We show the mistakes.
Sometimes it turns out to be a disaster, and we're honest about it.
And they get a kick out of it because they get to see the real, unfiltered version.
Yeah.
Which dish ended up being a disaster?
Well, the one we just did the other day on the live, that didn't work out very well.
We did a live broadcast and it was pretty rough at the end.
So you can see that on our page.
We try out new gadgets and weird things and we try to experiment a little bit.
We do.
We do a lot of experiments.
Okay.
And sometimes they go well and sometimes they don't. Yeah. The stakes on live are high. That's why I don We do a lot of experiments. Okay. And sometimes they go well
and sometimes they don't.
Yeah.
The stakes on live are high.
That's why I don't do live podcasts.
Oh, yeah.
Yeah.
You don't know what people
are going to say.
Like, you know what I mean?
We, I don't know.
Maybe it's just the adrenaline of it.
I do enjoy doing live broadcasts
because in a real way
it feels like a show.
Right.
It's like a stage show.
It is authentic.
And they like to,
their followers enjoy
interacting with real time.
So it is a thing that we feel is important.
We have really gotten to know a lot of these followers that have been with us now for years.
And I know them by name.
And we have inside jokes for certain people.
And I spend a lot of time really trying to engage with them directly.
I know some people, you know, have other people they hire to do their engagement.
But I enjoy doing it personally.
And I think that that is one reason why we've developed such a loyal following because they know it's authentic.
Yeah. That's important. That community aspect make people feel important.
Yeah.
Because some people just don't respond at all.
Yeah. I mean, being performers, our goal has always just been connecting with people around
the world and just, you know, giving people a chance to just smile. And I mean,
magic is a great tool for that. Food is also something that everybody can relate to. So
we're just excited to be able to expand this brand into all different branches of the
entertainment industry. What do you guys think of mentalists? I've had a couple on the show
and it just blows my mind. We do a lot of mentalism in the show. The ending years of when we were doing touring, we did a huge section of mentalism.
We do a lot of things that are in the kind of magic that are mind-reading magic.
But we're very transparent in saying that just like all other magic, it is a trick.
We're not at all trying to claim to be psychics.
And if somebody is doing that, they're using magic methods.
It's still a trick they're they're using magic it's still a
trick i mean if you look back at houdini whenever he was young he spent much of his life proving
you know just proving these people that were claiming these things were real when they were
in fact just using magic methods yeah so we do use mind reading magic but we package it as though it
is still just an illusion like everything else wow yeah because i was the mentalist on and yeah
he's a good friend of ours. Yeah. He
was like, think of a girl from fifth grade. I thought of the most obscure name. Like you guys
would have never known this name and he guessed it. Yep. First try. Yeah. Jerry's a great friend
of ours. He's been in town for a long time. Yeah. I mean, it just blows my mind. I mean,
you could probably use that in a lot of different ways. Yeah. We've done some mentalisms,
some mentalisms. We've done some mentalism in some live broadcasts, actually.
Oh, yeah.
With our cooking show, we do live broadcasts with Magic.
And we've done a few mentalism tricks.
You could do it over text?
Yeah.
In our virtual shows.
In our virtual shows, we used to do that.
We would do a lot of mentalism performances when we were doing corporate.
And we still can do virtual shows now.
But obviously, there's more demand for in person.
Yeah, I'm glad it's back.
The virtual wave was not for me.
I was going crazy in my apartment.
Yeah.
You know, I'm sure you guys were dealing with that too, right?
Well, we were busy making content at that point when that happened.
And everybody was at home and couldn't leave.
It was the opportunity because, you know, America was looking for entertainment online.
So that's when we stepped up.
We had a lot of our major viral hits, like 300 million on single videos during that time. During that
first year. Wow. And, uh, and it's, I believe it's a little bit more difficult to get those
kinds of views now, especially because social media is so saturated. But, you know, I think
that it's a little bit addictive. You never, when you see those numbers going up, it's something
that is a motivating force. Yeah. It never ends. When I see a video go viral, I always love that feeling. Yeah. I got to keep chasing it. That's why I post three times
a day because I'm like a drug addict. I'm looking for that next big video. I got the same brain. On
our Facebook page, I'm posting three, four times a day as well. You have to. Yeah. Because one's
not enough. You need to be posting multiple times a day. That's why I film so many podcasts too.
Yeah. Well, we're excited to be here. This is, and we're locals in Vegas too.
Yeah.
I love connecting with locals too.
I think community is important.
Vegas has a good community.
Yeah.
I knew, I just heard that you had another one of the performers that we book for cruises
that was on your show.
Yeah.
That was a fun one, man.
He threw cards and hit my finger, but I'm good.
I was holding up a celery.
Yeah.
Cut it in half.
Yeah.
He's one of the acts that we book in the European circuit.
Yeah, he's awesome.
Would you guys ever consider going on America's Got Talent?
They've reached out every year.
Oh, they do?
They've asked us every year.
It's just scheduling has never really worked out.
We just...
It's such a big time commitment.
It's a time commitment that we just...
We've always said no.
How long does it take?
Well, you know, if you're there for the long run, it's, you know, six weeks or so.
Wow.
You know, because it continually, there's more and more episodes.
And we've had some friends that were, you know, have had a lot of success there.
But we, so far, it's not been something that we've wanted to pursue just yet.
We're there just cheering on our friends.
We probably should do it at some point.
You think so?
Yeah, before we get too old.
I can't imagine we're going to have time for that.
It's like a staple for magicians, right? I think so. Like Shin Lim went through it. He's a good friend of ours, too. Yeah, he did some point. You think so? Yeah, before we get too old. I can't imagine how we're going to have time for this. It's like a staple for magicians, right?
I think so.
Like Shin Lim went through it.
He's a good friend of ours, too.
Yeah, he did it twice.
Oh, yeah?
He won it twice.
He won it twice?
He won the original one, and then he won Champions as well.
Wow, that's impressive.
I got to check out his show, too.
Yeah.
He's been on the billboard all.
It's not just Shin, too.
His wife, Casey, who's a good friend of ours, just debuted her solo magic performance in
the show as well. Wow. So I don't know if that's a secret, but go, just debuted her solo magic performance in the show
as well. Wow. So I don't know if that's a secret, but go see it and you'll get to see a few different
magicians. Didn't know he had a wife. What's been some of your favorite shows that you guys have
been to? I know you're friends with them, so it might be tough picking. Blaine is obviously unlike
any of other shows that you'll find in town. So we're honored to be a part of that and experience
it weekly whenever he's in town or monthly when he's in town. Who else we're honored to be a part of that and experience it weekly whenever he's in
town or monthly when he's in town who else do we really like uh pitt and teller has always been
somebody that we liked because of their irreverent style as well yeah i think we can find something
good to say about all our vegas magic friends yeah yeah jerry's jerry's great for mentalism
you said he was on the show another one uh some people don't know if he's kind of a hidden gem
mike hammer he's very funny he's downtown mike hammer yeah do you know mike has he was on the show. Another one, some people don't know, he's kind of a hidden gem, Mike Hammer.
He's very funny.
He's downtown.
Mike Hammer?
Yeah.
Do you know Mike?
Has he been on the show yet?
No.
I'll have to hook you guys up.
He's great.
What kind of magic is that?
He's a comedy magician.
Okay.
He's very sarcastic with his delivery, but he's downtown.
Nice.
Comedy magician.
Wow.
There's all sorts of combos you can do.
Definitely.
Who else do you think?
Oh, there's just an unlimited small world too all
of us magicians know each other here in town that's what i noticed and it's for the most part
it's a pretty uh collaborative and supportive group you got the magic dragon okay oh piff yeah
that's great you've got uh um oh he was on agt as well well why can't i uh Franco. Matt Franco. Matt Franco.
He's very kind down to earth.
You know, his show was great as well, too.
There's a lot of opportunities. We should see it again.
We haven't seen his show in a while.
A lot of opportunities for good magic here in town.
That's cool to see.
It's a collaborative community because I feel like it's easy to compete.
Yeah, for the most part.
We got a little bit of pushback from magicians when we started making videos for content.
It was a weird thing where people, I don we started making videos for content it was a weird
thing where people i don't know if they felt like it was you know abandoning the art but honestly
like i said we've never taken ourselves that seriously magic is is a tool to be able to
entertain people and you know we'll use all the tools that we have at our disposal to be able to
achieve that so absolutely so you were miss las vegas yeah i uh. Yeah. A few years ago, back in the day. In 2006, I competed in the Miss America program. And I had
competed previously in Mississippi whenever I was in college. I was always attracted to that
organization because it was different than, it wasn't a beauty pageant. 80% of our scoring came
from talent and interview. And I played classical piano for talent. And I won the overall talent
award, which was another separate scholarship. And so I saw it as an opportunity to
really develop my public speaking skills and my talent. I wanted to be on stage. I wanted to be
a performer and this encompassed all of those things. And I represented my hometown in Mississippi
and then I won the title of Miss Las Vegas and I ended up winning $30,000 in scholarships. It's a nonprofit.
And I'm only 4'11". I'm not a tall model type by any means.
Yeah.
So this just proves that it wasn't necessarily about physicality.
It was about all these other aspects that you might have, you know, like girl next door kind of thing.
Right, right.
It's well-rounded.
That's how it should be, honestly, because looks are subjective.
Yeah.
You know what I mean?
It was a great opportunity.
It taught me a lot
and I really truly credit
my experience with that
with allowing me
to be able to jump
into the show
that, you know,
when I gave me the opportunity
and be comfortable on stage
and be able to handle
all these different,
you know,
public speaking engagements
and things like that
and then eventually
ended up playing the piano
on stage in our magic show
as well.
Wow.
And I really was able
to develop my piano skills
and prep for the Miss America pageants.
That's awesome.
I used to play a little piano.
Yeah?
Yeah.
My mom would smack me if I messed up.
Did you have a ruler?
No, just little cheek slaps.
But yeah, I'm a little scarred from that.
She watches every episode.
I love my mom.
Hi, Mom.
High standards, you know, as a parent.
Yeah, well, I'm glad she got you to try piano.
You know, all these different skills can help develop
into other aspects of your life
that you might not have even appreciated at the time.
Right, yeah, the discipline was good.
I needed it as a kid, just all over the walls of the house.
I was a wild kid.
That's funny.
Yeah, what goes down in Mississippi?
You know, it's so funny.
You said you were a wild kid.
I immediately got flashbacks in my head of me bringing home frogs and snakes in my pockets
and climbing trees i was a wild kid too i was a country girl and uh i it's funny because i feel
like i play up that southern side of me and our cooking show too because i feel like i'm kind of
back at home and i'm pulling from things that my grandma taught me. And so I'm definitely keeping close to that part of me, even though I've been a city girl now for a while.
I love that. What about you, Kyle? Were you rambunctious?
Yeah, I was crazy. Myself and my brother were just crazy.
We had four wheelers and we lived in Wisconsin.
We grew up just like playing in the mud and, you know, just bonfires just all the stuff that you shouldn't be doing when
tell them about the job you had before you started doing that my only real job and my entire life was
working on a dairy farm in wisconsin baling hay baling hay and it's like that is hard work and
that's when i knew that i needed to get out of wisconsin and and not do that type of job i needed
to expand and explore the world so people don't realize how heavy hay gets.
My grandparents had a farm and they would tell me to like carry those. Yeah. It's not fun. It
scratches up your arms and it's hard work. And it's, you know, I think I chose wisely.
You did. The choices that you made, you know, younger as a kid just created this ripple effect
that has been life-changing for so many people genuinely because you made these choices to follow your own path. And one of the most
appreciated pieces that we do in our magic show is something called nothing's impossible. We use
a wooden puzzle. And I tell the story of how Kyle came to be where he is now. And same for me,
basically how all these people, all these years told us, you shouldn't do that. You know, get a
real job, do something safe. And we both got told us, you shouldn't do that. Get a real job.
Do something safe. And we both got that. And if you had followed that advice. You were supposed
to be a nurse or a school teacher, and I was supposed to work on a dairy farm.
If we had followed that advice of doing something safe, we would have never had this entrepreneurial
spirit where we could have so many opportunities. And that all started with you when you were young,
which then led to me and all these now people that we manage. So, so good job.
Yeah. When you zoom out, it does come down to that decision. That's crazy. But now you're both
in touch with your purpose and your passion. It's beautiful. Cause if you kept those nine to five
jobs, you'd probably be miserable. Yeah. I think that, you know, just follow your heart and don't
be afraid to take risks because there's so many things if I had, had, you know, just follow your heart and don't be afraid to take risks. Because there's so many things if I had held back from fear, these opportunities wouldn't have come.
Right.
And now, because of that, I've learned from it, we just say yes to everything.
Wow.
Like the crazy TV show that I just filmed, I can't believe I said yes to it because it was very difficult and out of my comfort zone.
Right. it because it was very difficult and out of my comfort zone. But, you know, I think you just say yes and you, and it forces you to rise to the occasion and, you know, that motivation to just
level up and be the best you can be in every aspect. So I just embrace those things when they
come. Yeah. There's no growth when you're comfortable, right? For sure. Yeah. You guys
brought some tricks. Oh, we got you some magic for you. You want to see the most amazing card
trick in the history of the world? Yeah, let's now every deck of cards has 52 different cards hearts diamonds clubs and spades
it goes ace through king i'll let you decide would you like to use uh black cards or red cards red
red cards out of the red cards we have hearts and we have diamonds which card would you like to use
a diamond so out of the diamonds ace two three four five six seven eight nine ten jack queen king
which diamond would you like to use king King. The King of Diamonds.
We'll find the King of Diamonds.
There should only be one in here.
So there's the King of Hearts went by.
We're looking for the King of Diamonds chosen by you right there.
In fact, I have a pen here.
I want you to sign your name on this King of Diamonds marker right there.
She's got one.
Diamonds, we're going to use a blue marker.
Here you go.
So put your name on there.
Hold it for you.
So there you go.
So now you know.
Sean's name on it.
I'll do that.
All right.
Is this the camera right here?
Yeah.
This one right there.
King of Diamonds right there.
The only King of Diamonds in the entire world signed by you, unless you go around signing
King of Diamonds.
I don't.
You don't.
So that one goes right here.
I'm going to put it in the middle.
Kyle's going to take that signed card and lose it in the middle of that.
About halfway down.
So there's no cuts, no palming, no slight of hand.
It's 100% right about there. You can probably tell it's still sticking out a little bit right there the cards go inside the box inside the box the box gets um closed up so we want to
make sure you can't get to that card so we're going to create a cage using these rubber bands
locking your signed rubber bands go all the way around the outside of the box. So, the card you sign in the middle, in the box, rubber bands wrapped around it.
Wow.
That's not enough, though.
I know you're a skeptic, right?
So, we're going to create another layer of separation.
Wrap it with that piece of foil as well.
Piece of aluminum foil gets wrapped around the outside as well, just like this.
Okay.
All right.
So, it's wrapped all directions like this.
Still not convinced.
We can make this even more difficult.
Empty paper bag, it's gonna go inside that as well.
So the deck of cards goes inside the paper bag,
just like that, all right.
You're skeptic, right?
We'll add another layer.
Another layer.
Think about how fair this is.
It is literally trapped inside.
Five layers. Five layers.
Five layers.
All right.
This is the dangerous part.
A little spike right here.
I'm going to take the spike and I want you to take that.
Hold on to that end right there.
Yeah.
Hold on to that end.
Yeah.
Hold it real.
Hold it real hard.
Yeah.
I think you got it.
We're going to do.
We'll let you do it.
Give it really tight.
We're going to hold it real tight.
We're going to pull it back towards you.
Looks like we're going to do this little snap on three.
Ready?
One, two.
Whoa. Whoa. There's one card skewered through here. Not just any card. Not just any card. What was
your card again? King of diamonds. And it had your name on it though, right? Yeah. Check this out.
No way. That's crazy. Crazy. What? Isn't that cool? Yeah, that's so cool. We do this in our
stage show and we were able to have different people from the audience
be involved in every step of the way.
It's completely fair.
We're very interactive like that.
You're the first person to ever hold onto that normally?
Yeah, he just improvised right now.
He improvised that with you right there.
When we're on stage, I'm the one holding that,
and we stretch this long rope across the whole stage.
So it's unique for a card trick to fill the stage,
but we found a way to do it with this.
But instead of me holding it, he just said,
all right, let's just roll with it. We'll give it to him. That's so
cool. That's one of the coolest ones I've seen. Awesome. Yeah. Guys, anything you want to close
off with or promote? Yeah. I just hope that we're able to connect with other companies
in all of the different ways that we can promote their brands, either through influencer
partnerships or providing entertainment for your events when you're in Las Vegas. Let us know,
because we have got either the show ourselves or somebody else that we can provide entertainment through the
people that we work with all over the world. I'm just excited to connect with other people. That's
what the name of the game is. Love it. Anything else? Thanks for having us. This has been a fun
