Starting point is 00:00:38 hell no sir i told him boxing is for the uneducated. It's a sport where you don't have to have an education to become a millionaire. And it's the highest paid sport. Wherever you guys are watching this show, I would truly appreciate it if you follow or subscribe. It helps a lot with the algorithm. It helps us get bigger and better guests. And it helps us grow the team. Truly means a lot. Thank you guys for supporting, and here's the episode. All right, guys, we got Marcellus Brown in the building. How's it going,
Starting point is 00:01:13 brother? Blessed. Blessed, blessed. You are the tallest guy I've ever met. Am I? Yeah, you're seven feet, man. Not many people in that club. And not many people seven feet in boxing either. Nah, you might be the tallest boxer ever, right? I was for a while, and then they got this big old goofy guy from Russia. From Russia, okay. Never heard of him. Yeah, exactly. So at seven feet, you could have played any sport.
Starting point is 00:01:36 Why boxing? I did. I played basketball. Boxing was probably my go-to sport. Okay. My dad was a fighter. He sparred on leagues, stuff like that. Nice.
Starting point is 00:01:48 And I kind of just fell into it. Didn't know I was going to grow to be seven feet, of course. Yeah, and then I made it to the U.S. Olympic team. I was 6'7", I think, at 17. Damn, for boxing, that's tall. Knocking people out. Ranked fifth in the world. When you're on an Olympic team, you got to be the best in the world.
Starting point is 00:02:05 Yeah. So you were fifth in the world. You know, when you're on a rugby team, you got to be the best in the world. Yeah. So you were fifth in the world? Fifth. Holy crap. And do you feel like the height gave you an advantage? No, my leverage. Yeah? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:02:13 How so? And the speed because I'm long, lanky. Right. You could keep your distance. Right. What was your style? I was a one-punch knockout guy. Jab, jab, boom, I hit you, you're going to sleep.
Starting point is 00:02:27 Got it. Either hand. So you either knocked someone out or you lost, basically. Pretty much. I didn't, well, amateur I was really successful. That's how I got to the Olympic team. Yeah. And then when I turned pro, I had, you know, started out pretty good.
Starting point is 00:02:43 So the guy who had Ali, which is Joe Martin Sr., passed on me. He was my manager. When he died, then I wound up getting with Don King, and no good. Wow, so you'd attribute a lot of boxing to the management side of things and the trainer. Pretty much. Interesting. Boxing is a really rough sport.
Starting point is 00:03:04 So you can't just be skilled you need really good mentorship my problem was is I could read so when you can read those contracts they get a little upset because they can't get over on you oh because they're used to just having kids sign they don't know you know like education was pretty much the highest. Oh, you dropped out in ninth grade? No. For most fighters, the highest was ninth grade. Me, I'm in college. Right.
Starting point is 00:03:33 I can read. And if I can't read it or understand it, I'm going to take it to somebody who can't. So that's a problem for promoters. Yeah. So was education a big part of your life growing up? Family, yes. Yeah. They placed education a big part of your life growing up? Family, yes. Yeah. They placed importance on it for you?
Starting point is 00:03:47 Yes. I grew up with both parents, both grandparents. That's a rarity in my community as a black child. Yeah. So I was fortunate. Yeah, that is rare, man, to be honest. You don't hear that often. Right.
Starting point is 00:04:01 Wow. My parents are still together to this day. Wow. That's impressive, man. The divorce rate's over 50% these days. Yeah, it's pretty tough. Yeah. Are you still with your wife?
Starting point is 00:04:10 That'll be a no. All right. That'll be a no. Looking back at it, do you think that was the right choice to separate? You know, I was taught to be you marry you make a covenant with god and you marry forever but you can't convince the other side that right they want out they want out oh so she wanted out two of my marriages yes one oh two i just wanted out yeah oh wow three times yeah my dad was twice, and he was done after that.
Starting point is 00:04:46 Yeah, I'm pretty much done. Yeah. I got seven kids out the deal. Damn. Cool. All planned? Yeah, mostly. Nice.
Starting point is 00:04:58 Maybe one wasn't. At least you're honest. She here, I love her. Yeah. My name is Marcellus. That was unplanned. Oh, wow. It happens, you know? Yeah. Everything happens for a reason, but six kids, wow here, I love her. Yeah. I named her Marcellus. I was unplanned. Oh, wow. It happens, you know? Everything happens for a reason.
Starting point is 00:05:07 But six kids, wow, that's a lot. Seven. Well, seven. Six planned in one. Right, there you go. Okay. There you go. And my daughter's beautiful.
Starting point is 00:05:15 She's, oh my gosh, she's like, she looks like, well, she is a model. Wow. And I named her Marcellus after me. Oh. All my kids are named Marcellus, pretty much. So it's a unisex name. No. Well, Marcellus after me. Oh. All my kids are named Marcellus pretty much. So it's a unisex name. No. Well, Marcellus can be, yeah.
Starting point is 00:05:29 Okay. But I gave my kids, my name is their middle name. That's cool. You wanted to carry the legacy. Yeah, like Jalen Marcellus Brown, Quentin Marcellus Brown, Brianna Marcellus Brown, Marcellus Capri Brown. Did you want your kids to be boxers too? Freaking
Starting point is 00:05:49 no. I don't want to cuss on this. Can I cuss? You can cuss. Hell no. Hell no, sir. I told them, you know, and then they came to me and wanted to. Like, I'm going to teach you. You know what I'm saying? I'm going to teach you well, but you won't be doing the sport.
Starting point is 00:06:07 Why? No. It's not for, boxing is for the uneducated. It's a sport where you don't have to have an education to become a millionaire. And it's the highest paid sport on the planet. I didn't know that. Absolutely. Absolutely. But you don't have to have a degree, no nothing.
Starting point is 00:06:29 Just go to college, go to high school, just walk in and do your thing. Yeah. I didn't know the money was that insane. So I told my kids, y'all not done. Neither was I. But I like to fight. Wow. I always thought NFL or NBA was the highest paying I like to fight. Wow. I always thought NFL or NBA was the highest paying.
Starting point is 00:06:48 No, sir. Boxing? And my son just happened to be the highest paid NBA player in history. Are you serious? Absolutely. How much? $304 million. Holy.
Starting point is 00:07:04 That is insane. Right. Yeah, you're going to have to look that sh... That is insane. Right. Yeah, you're going to have to look that up. That's nuts. Yeah, that's crazy. 304 million. Crazy. Yeah, the money in the NBA is getting pretty insane.
Starting point is 00:07:15 Wasn't like that when I was coming up. Every sport. I feel like a lot of sports are evolving on the pay side. Yeah. So back then, the money... It's kind of weird because, you know, it's like everything is streaming now. Yeah. So TV is not like it used to be, but those dollars are still going up.
Starting point is 00:07:32 I don't even watch TV anymore. I'm a movie buff. Yeah. So regular TV, I don't either. I don't like that reality stuff. Nah. This is crazy. Commercials.
Starting point is 00:07:42 Yeah. What kind of movie genres do you like? I'm an action, drama, thriller. Okay. I like thrillers too. Sci-fi. Sci-fi is dope. Star Trek?
Starting point is 00:07:53 All the way. I'm all about that. I'm a trackie, baby. Yeah. I love Star Trek, dude. People always say Star Wars. I'm like. Star Wars is okay, but I'm really a trackie.
Starting point is 00:08:02 Yeah, for sure. And we're a rarity, but Star Wars, the newer ones suck, dude. It's not realistic. Nah. Not at all. You can't relate at any level. I can't. You know what I'm saying?
Starting point is 00:08:14 I guess it's entertaining. It's entertainment. Certain action movies these days are super unrealistic, too. Right. Even though John Wick's dope, I can't relate. Is he a superhero? Because they don't have any more action superheroes anymore. Remember they used to have like action superheroes?
Starting point is 00:08:34 Yeah. Like Six Million Dollar Man. Yeah, Denzel Washington played one. I forget what movie. Denzel. The Equalizer? Yeah. Is that the last one?
Starting point is 00:08:43 He's the last action hero? That was a good one. It might be the last one? He's the last action hero? That was a good one. It might be the last one. He might be the only one. I still watch that movie. It's so good. I mean, everything is Marvel. Superman, Wonder Woman, and all that kind of stuff.
Starting point is 00:08:54 They've taken over. That's different. But like an action hero. You know what I'm talking about? Yeah, dude. It's hard. I guess they just like the unrealistic CGI stuff these days. CGI is taking over, huh?
Starting point is 00:09:09 With the kids. And now AI is taking over. You can make everything like it's really a real thing with CGI. There's going to be AI actors now. Oh, really? You won't be able to tell. Yeah. So they're licensing.
Starting point is 00:09:21 That's crazy. Actors are licensing their image. So they won't even have to show up on set it'll be a stunt double they're gonna put their ai so the producer gets all the money because they don't get paid that's what they want yeah they want to pay the actors less because some of them make a lot and i thought what they go on strike for i don't get it the actors yeah they went on strike they they just came off a strike yeah Yeah, some of them. Well, so the top ones make a lot. But then everyone else like.
Starting point is 00:09:48 Well, the top ones, they can set their price. Yeah. But everything under them went on strike. Yeah, pretty much. They went on strike to go off strike because they must have settled. I don't know. I didn't hear anything about it. Me neither.
Starting point is 00:10:03 It was really quiet, huh? Yeah. Who are your favorite actors? Shoot, that's hard. Anthony Hopkins. Okay. Yeah. Are you interested in coming on the Digital Social Hour podcast as a guest?
Starting point is 00:10:23 Well, click the application link below in the description of this video. We are always looking for cool stories, cool entrepreneurs to talk to about business and life. Click the application link below, and here's the episode, guys. I think, I really think Forrest Whitaker's a really good actor. Ooh, that's a good one. Yeah, Forrest Whitaker. Will Smith? No. He had a's a good one. Yeah, Forrest Whitaker. Will Smith? No.
Starting point is 00:10:46 He had a good run, but. He had a good run. I'm not a Will Smith fan. Oh, because of recent events? I won't say because of recent events. I just really not a fan. Oh, okay. He has played some good parts in movies.
Starting point is 00:11:03 I don't like him, but, you know. Yeah, he had a good run. I think like eight number one hits in a row at one point but yeah lately i think it's hard to there's like peak ages in acting you know is it i think so well with males it's longer but with females i'm just getting into it and i'm just starting to learn about the acting yeah because i'm supposed to appear in a few movies in the future. So that's something you want to get into. Well, it's people telling me I'm pretty good. Well, at least my acting teacher says I'm natural.
Starting point is 00:11:36 And I don't see it, but hey, what is, what is, what is. I can see it, man. I mean, just your appearance is different. So if you can nail the acting part, you'll be all. I said, stop fluffing me. Cut it out. You're going to be the next, what's that guy named? The Rock?
Starting point is 00:11:52 The Rock Johnson. Yeah. Say no way. John Cena. They're all going to acting, all these WWE guys. I would if I were them too, because what the hell? Wrestling, really? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:12:04 They're acting, correct? Basically. I was never into WWE, to be honest. I was when I was a kid. Okay. I don't even know if it was WWE when I was a kid. I don't even know what it was called when I was a kid, but I was watching. Ric Flair and, oh, my God.
Starting point is 00:12:20 That was WWE, yeah. Was it? I think so, yeah. Okay, cool. What's your favorite sport to watch on TV? My favorite sport to watch on TV is I cannot say anything but basketball. Okay. I can say football, too.
Starting point is 00:12:35 Football's a little slow for me. It is, but I got kids that I got to support that. Yeah, that makes sense. Basketball is my favorite, too. All the way. Or UFC. See, I'm not a UFC fan. Really? I don't get it. There is a divide, I noticed, the way. Or UFC. See, I'm not a UFC fan. Really?
Starting point is 00:12:45 I don't get it. There is a divide, I noticed, with boxers and UFC. Like, if I hit a fighter with those gloves that they wear in UFC, they're dying.
Starting point is 00:12:55 You serious? Come on, bro. People have actually died in my sport. None yet in the UFC and they get to kick you in the face
Starting point is 00:13:04 and elbow you in the face and all that. It's coming though. That's scary. I believe that. Damn. So you've saw people die in boxing? I have seen people die firsthand in boxing. Holy s***. Go back to their room and don't wake
Starting point is 00:13:20 up the next day. No way. All the way. Because the gloves are 12. Just recently, something happened here at the UNLV where they did some celebrity thing
Starting point is 00:13:30 and kid got hit, laid down, and died. What? I didn't even hear about that. Holy s***. The commission is really, you know,
Starting point is 00:13:42 cracking down on that kind of stuff. Now, they won't, you got to down on that kind of stuff. Now they won't, you gotta go through a lot of hoops to get that. Yeah. Approved. Man, that's scary.
Starting point is 00:13:53 Was that in the back of your, uh, back of your head when you were going into some fights? Here's what was in the back of my head. I knew so many fighters that I was afraid to not be able to communicate and walk like I was drunk when I had not had a drink. And I saw that firsthand, and so I was afraid of that. Damn.
Starting point is 00:14:17 So when I was amateur, I was trying to knock you out. I wasn't trying to let you hit on me at all. Yeah. And so when I got pro and then I started getting stuck in the fights with one day or two day notice, I would just go get the money because I felt like I'm only, this is only one of me and he don't care about me if I don't care about me. So I needed the money to take care of my children and,
Starting point is 00:14:44 and my wife and you know yeah bills and stuff and that's what i did wow yeah you do so i admit i took dives i'm not letting you hurt me yeah i do see um like what you're talking about with certain fighters you want to call it no i see it with certain fighters man. They don't talk the same. Bro. Like the Diaz brothers. My God. Listen to me, man.
Starting point is 00:15:11 Every time you get hit, it's a mild concussion. Jeez. Like, seriously. Like, I've been hit to where I'm like, whoa, I'm not going to experience that again. Yeah. Like, you can understand what I'm saying, and I got far more fights than half of these other guys got, and you can't understand nothing they say.
Starting point is 00:15:35 Nothing, dude. It's bad. It's really bad. Yeah. All the way. Like, you must have gotten over 10 concussions. I had a few. Trust me. And a lot of times I got hit and made it look like I was hurt, and I wasn't.
Starting point is 00:15:48 Because I got to take care of me. Yeah. No, you're thinking long game, man. And look at you now. You can talk normally. I can communicate with my kids, man, and get along without stumbling and looking like I'm drunk. Man, I don't want to mention names, but trust me when I tell you, I was on the Olympic team with Roy Jones, Riddick Bowe, all these guys,
Starting point is 00:16:13 and their speech vocabulary is really not good. That's sad. You even see it with some NFL players, man. Really? Yeah. Well, yeah, because of the cushions, and then they go into that ECT stuff. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:16:29 Well, you know what I'm trying to say. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Where they go crazy a little bit. You saw it with them. And I'm going to wonder why that doesn't happen with the fighters. When they have rages and go-killers, they bounce and they sales, but you see it more in football. And they got helmets.
Starting point is 00:16:46 Yeah. Well, I think when it's a head-to-head collision with helmets, it's just like a mild concussion. Well, it's like, hey man,
Starting point is 00:16:53 you ever got somebody smack you in the head when you had a helmet on? No, I never played football. I put a helmet on once and somebody just smacked the helmet.
Starting point is 00:17:01 Yeah. I didn't feel like I was protected. That shit hurted. Yeah, because it's feel like I was protected. That hurted. Yeah, because it's locking your head in place, you know? Exactly. And we wear headgears in boxing when we spar, getting ready for a bounce.
Starting point is 00:17:13 Yeah. And we wore headgears as amateurs. But you can still, like, I got a friend, man. I love him to death. He's a three-time world champion. Can't understand a damn thing he's like. Damn. Nothing.
Starting point is 00:17:29 That's a shame, dude. I just left one of my partners. He owns a gym here. We partners have filtered my fighters through his gym to help him stay afloat and keep money coming through and stuff like that. And I heard the attorney ask him three times, what'd you say, keep money coming through and stuff like that. And I heard the attorney guy say them three times. What'd you say? Repeat that.
Starting point is 00:17:49 World champion. Can't understand a damn thing he's saying. Wow. Dude, I'm glad you're speaking up about this because you don't hear this. Yeah, man. Boxing is bad. No pensions. No, none of that.
Starting point is 00:18:02 Yeah. Dude. If you're in basketball, football, you got a pension. Yeah. Basketball is more like controllable. You're not going to get a concussion for the most part. Well, you can. You can, but.
Starting point is 00:18:14 You can. You definitely can. But not as much as. Draymond Green shows. He giving people concussions. Hey. You know what I mean? Yeah.
Starting point is 00:18:23 That's. Man. I love his podcast. So seeing him do that. I do too. I love Draymond. He's from Michigan. Yeah. You know, I went to Michigan State.
Starting point is 00:18:32 So he's over there in Saginaw. I got all kind of family in Saginaw. So, you know, I'm a fan of Draymond. I understand his style of play. Yeah. He's more like the Dennis Robbins, the Lambeers, back in the modern day them.
Starting point is 00:18:50 They've done worse than him and then get suspended indefinitely. Yeah, it was a different game in the 90s, 2000s. It's so soft. You think it's too soft right now? It's too soft. It's too soft. I mean, Sharif O'Neal was just here. I know it's about entertainment and money and it should be about fighting and it shouldn't be about this
Starting point is 00:19:09 i get it yeah but it's just too soft dude when i watch 90s highlights on youtube i get so excited like the level of basketball they played back in the day man those bad boys yeah detroit bad boys was they bad they were bad you could feel the energy just watching it. You know what I mean? It's different now. You don't feel that same way. Right. It's unfortunate.
Starting point is 00:19:30 I mean, I wouldn't say unfortunate, but it's just a different style of game. Got that right. Absolutely. How good were you at basketball? I was decent. I walked on a few teams. Nice. What position?
Starting point is 00:19:42 Center? Yes. Forward, center. But you didn't want to go pro? I walked on. I tried to walk on at the Hawks. And then I broke my ankle just so I had to go back to boxing. Damn.
Starting point is 00:19:54 I was a two-sport guy. Oh, so you were doing basketball and boxing? Yes. Wow. I've never heard of someone doing those two. I didn't even know. I was good at boxing. And by the time I realized,
Starting point is 00:20:05 I'm seven feet. You know what I'm saying? Yeah. Basketball was like second nature. It was like, you know, I spent more time boxing than I did basketball. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:18 But I learned quickly, so, you know, I wasn't bad. That's dope. When did you know Jalen was going to be special in basketball? The moment I handed him a basketball that early wow only that's his dream that's dope was always his dream damn so how old uh did he start playing I brought him to Vegas. He was six or seven.
Starting point is 00:20:46 Wow. He actually wasn't old enough to play. I lied about his age, paid the dude a couple dollars, at the little place called Doolittle over here. Got a couple dollars, you know, hey, I'm putting him in anyway. My son went off. Damn. He wanted to dribble.
Starting point is 00:21:05 He kept his pigeon toes, so he would always chip over his feet. Yeah. And he didn't give a damn. He was just, all he knows is he wanted to play. From the time he probably got introduced to basketball, all he knows is basketball, basketball, basketball. He went all in from day one. All in.
Starting point is 00:21:26 That's dope. I mean, he was probably two or three, and he had this video called Airbug, this little basketball dog. Oh, the movie? Yeah. I used to watch those. Dude, this kid watched that movie like a million times. You can't watch nothing.
Starting point is 00:21:44 He's just so fascinated with the basketball. So I just knew that was it. You were training him subconsciously. Kind of, sort of. Yeah, because he didn't. At the time he was born, I was really into church and God. And I was going to a really big church. And he said, I said, I want to get my boys baptized.
Starting point is 00:22:02 He said, you've been studying under me long enough. You baptize them. So I did. Wow. That's cool, man. So one of my prayers for him to be one of the greatest players ever. You manifested it. And he's on that mission right now.
Starting point is 00:22:17 And he's on that mission. He's gotten, what, like five All-Stars now at this point? Pretty much. Yeah, every year, 25 a year consistent. Yep. I mean, Tatum. I like to see him at 30. Well, with Tatum, yeah,
Starting point is 00:22:31 those two are probably the best duo in the league, to be honest. Yeah. I tell people all the time, he might be the highest paid in history, but it won't last for long. Somebody else come. Yeah, every couple years, right?
Starting point is 00:22:43 You know, somebody's contract could be bigger than his. Yeah. Yeah, I think Curry was the biggest, LeBron at one point. LeBron James was like 290 for years. Yeah. A lot of years. You know what I'm saying? He was high paid for a whole bunch of them.
Starting point is 00:22:59 Yeah. So, you know, it happens. It's just the way the system is set up. Absolutely. You think the Celtics can do it this year? So, you know, what happens is just the way the system is set up. Absolutely. You think the Celtics can do it this year? If Pingas, is that his name? Porzingis.
Starting point is 00:23:11 Porzingis. Yeah. Stay healthy, yeah. They're looking good. With Porzingis in, yes, they look unbeatable with him in. Yeah, they're like 26. He's just an accident prone skinny dude, man. He gets injured a lot. Like, come on, bro.
Starting point is 00:23:24 Yeah. Sheesh. Him gets injured a lot. Like, come on, bro. Yeah. Sheesh. Him and Wendaya. Then we go back to soft. They kind of soft. You know what I'm saying? I know my son ain't soft. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:33 No, he be driving. I raised him to be soft. Yeah, he take it to the rack on anyone. Right. He's fearless. Yeah, I knew from zero to four, my son's going to be, I learned in psychology, he was my major in college. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:47 Zero to four, it's pretty much already set to where they was going to go. So I molded that at that age. Yeah. I noticed he's like a silent killer. He doesn't talk much on the court. No, he don't. Is that something you trained in him or? No, that's just his personality.
Starting point is 00:24:03 Okay. Like my other son is more like me uh he's more like his mom more quiet yeah because i've actually never never heard him talk on the court he's he's quiet but deadly yeah so he's gone oh yeah i'm a witness to that. Yeah. She don't f*** around, man. Was that your first marriage? Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:24:28 Nice. And you've gotten two more since? Yes. Wow. Props to you, man, for not giving up. Yeah, I tried it. To hell with that. Oh, man.
Starting point is 00:24:39 I'm with this beautiful girl. She said, man, who what? I just met you. What are you talking about? No good. Damn. I'm running. I think when you go just off looks,
Starting point is 00:24:55 it's a, it's a gamble. You don't do that. Yeah. Don't do that. Definitely gamble. Don't do that. And usually the good looking ones come with some baggage or something.
Starting point is 00:25:03 Some people don't really understand what marriage truly means. Yeah. And that's why they don't do that. And usually the good-looking ones come with some baggage or something. Some people don't really understand what marriage truly means. Yeah. And that's why they don't stay together. Not willing to make the sacrifice and be unconditional to one another, it's not going to work. Yeah, for sure. So you're living out here in Vegas now? I live in Vegas.
Starting point is 00:25:20 I live in Boston. I'm back in Fort. What do you like more? Vegas, for sure. Okay. Okay. I can't Boston. I'm back in Fort. What do you like more? Vegas, for sure. Okay. Okay, I can't do, I don't know why all these other states ain't 24 hours. It would help the unemployment. For sure.
Starting point is 00:25:36 You know what I'm saying? Yeah. And who got the right to tell you what time to go to damn bed? Last call is at 1.30, 1.15. and that's late in some states that's some yeah jersey where i grew up everyone's once you come to vegas and be 24 hours you go get a steak or a drink at any time yeah whatever time of the day nor the night whatever i did go somewhere that does that you'd be like damn yeah it is nice segregated like nice here, man. Starting point is 00:26:28 I'm never going back. I don't even want to go visit. Boston's cold, though, dude. Oh, man. Let me tell you something. This is what, when I first, first time I got to Boston, it was cold. I went to see my kids. My dad's there.
Starting point is 00:26:40 And all I can see is pilgrims as far as I can see. It is truly the home of the white folks. I heard that. I've been there. I call them pilgrims because, I mean, if you know the definition of pilgrim, it's not a bad thing. Yeah. And I don't want to call them other things, but, hey, you know, it is what it is. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:01 That's bloody all that right there, buddy. Wow. You got two kinds. You got the kind plenty. All that right there, buddy. Wow. You got two kinds. You got the kind of like black. So you got the kind of dope. Oh, they make it known. Oh yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:11 Wow. So racism still a thing, huh? Come on, bro. I can't relate. I mean, I mean,
Starting point is 00:27:16 I get made fun of for being smart, which is, are you Asian? Yeah. Okay. There it is. Yeah. You can't tell me you ain't being racist.
Starting point is 00:27:24 Your own president was talking about Kung Fu, all that. I'm so used to it. I just don't even care. Come on, bro. I don't care. I don't either. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:27:33 You ain't used to it? I'm Mark. Klan used to march down my street in Kentucky. Yeah. That's real. Damn. Yeah, Kentucky. It's down south.
Starting point is 00:27:43 I haven't been out there. Heard some wild stuff. Indiana, Kentucky, man. Come on, bro. Home of the Ku Klux Klan. Damn. Yeah, Kentucky. It's down south. I haven't been out there. Heard some wild stuff. Indiana, Kentucky, man. Come on, bro. Home of the Ku Klux Klan. Yeah. Yes, sir. That must have been interesting.
Starting point is 00:27:52 And they'll let you know all up in your face. Damn. Did you fight back? Hell no. You want to go to penitentiary? You better not throw a rock. They have the right to assume March or whatever they call it, to assemble in March.
Starting point is 00:28:08 They have a right to do their thing. Jeez. So you're used to being outnumbered then? Outnumbered? Yeah. Like you grew up there, right? I grew up there, yeah. So you know what?
Starting point is 00:28:18 You stay in your lane. You learn to stay in your lane, bro. Yeah. Yeah. And yeah, I'm used to being outnumbered because if i get into it you ain't whooping me one-on-one yeah you're bringing your friends a gun a knife or something did you get in a lot of fights growing up all the time wow yeah my police record say assault assault assault i feel like that's uh you don't say that that's what assault
Starting point is 00:28:43 malicious destruction assault. Now, is it assault if they punch you first, though? It didn't matter. You're going to jail. Oh, s***. I thought you had to punch first. That punch you, here's the biggest thing. You can't punch me because you're a boxer.
Starting point is 00:28:59 Really? Well, hit me and see what happens. People try to test you. Your hands is legal. Okay, hit me and see what happens. That's a myth you. Your hands is legal. Okay, hit me and see what happens. That's a myth, right? That's not true where your hand is a weapon. It's true in certain states, but what's stopping them from shooting you?
Starting point is 00:29:16 Yeah. Get out of here. Yeah. You're killing people every day. And you're going to trip on me because I defended myself and used my fists? First of all, UFC guys, I know for a fact, and boxers, we don't like to get in street fights. Because we know what we can do to you. To the average person, we know.
Starting point is 00:29:41 So we normally walk away. But when you got somebody that's more or less fighting, I could whoop you trying to prove something to his girlfriend and, you know, had a little too much to drink, we still trying to walk away and that won't let you walk away, you're getting this **** kicked.
Starting point is 00:30:00 Yeah. Because, trust me, you're gonna get tired before I get tired. Yeah. I'm training. You can't go three minutes. Yeah. You can't go 30 seconds.
Starting point is 00:30:10 Yeah. People underestimate how much energy you need to fight actually. Yes. It's like you just see it, but when you're actually in one, it's way different. Definitely. Yeah. This isn't grass, boy. You're in trouble, buddy.
Starting point is 00:30:24 But you're probably done with those days, right? Yeah. I don't get in fights no more. They say, you're too grass, boy. You're in trouble, buddy. But you're probably done with those days, right? Yeah, I don't get in fights no more. They say, you're too big, brother. You seem more zen these days, more calm. Yeah, I'm good. You found your peace. I don't want to fight. There's no point.
Starting point is 00:30:37 At your level, there's too much to risk. Someone could sue you at this point. Trust me, man. You get people that's really cocky and bold get up in your face, man. Yeah. You know, I deal with people every day. How tall are you? It's stupid to me.
Starting point is 00:30:53 I mean, it's stupid as shit, bro. Yeah. Like, you're looking for a reaction. Or either you're looking for a check. You're looking for me to whoop your ass so you can sue me and hope you can get some money out of it. I try to stay out of the public. If I don't know where I'm going
Starting point is 00:31:11 or who I'm going around, I don't go. That's smart. You probably have to tell your kids this too because there's probably people trying to... They have to live that way. I'm not going to get into some stuff to where I'm embarrassing my kids on TMZ or some like that. You know where I'm embarrassing my kids on TMZ, you know, some like that.
Starting point is 00:31:26 You know what I'm saying? Yeah, dude, Marcellus, it's been a blast. Anything you're trying to close off with or promote? I know you got a new show coming out, right?
