Starting point is 00:00:01 This is exactly right. Double Elvis. When a group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist, they take matters into their own hands. I vowed. I will be his last target. He is not going to get away with this. He's going to get what he deserves. We always say that trust your girlfriends. Listen to the girlfriends.
Starting point is 00:00:35 Trust me, babe. On the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. This season on Dear Chelsea with me, Chelsea Handler, we have some fantastic guests like Amelia Clark. When like young people come up to me and they want to be an actor or whatever. My first thing is always, can you think of anything else that you can do? Rather be disappointed in. Do that.
Starting point is 00:01:04 David O'Yellowo. I love this podcast, whether it's therapy or relationships or religion or sex or addiction or you just go straight for the guts. Dennis Leary, Gaten Matarazzo from Stranger Things, Tana Monsu, Camilla Morone, Carrie Kenny Silver, and more. Listen to these episodes of Dear Chelsea on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Your husband is not who you think he is. Your body is not what you thought it was.
Starting point is 00:01:35 Your identity is formed by a secret history. I'm Danny Shapiro, and these are just a few of the stunning stories I'll be exploring on the 14th season of Family Secrets. He kind of shoved me out of the way and said, move. And he went out the front door and he jumped in a car and drove off. And that was the last time I saw him. Listen to season 14 of Family Secrets, starting May 7th on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
Starting point is 00:01:59 or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, Discos, need a little more disgrace land in your life? Just a touch to get you through? Yeah, me too. This is the podcast that comes after the podcast. Welcome to Disgraceland, after party. Welcome to the disgrace land bonus episode. A little thing we like to call the after party. This is the show after the show, the party after the party, the bridge to get you from one full
Starting point is 00:02:39 episode of disgrace land to the other, the backyard to dig into the dirt. On this bonus episode, we are talking about this week's subject of the disgrace land full episode, Travis Scott and his disastrous Astro World concert. Still more guys from this incredible Sean home story that refuses to quit. And we've got this special Blink 182, Tom DeLong, live stream storytelling event that I'm staging on October 9th. And of course, we are diving into your voicemails, texts, and more. And as always, a whole lot of rosy.
Starting point is 00:03:12 All right, discos, let's get into it. Some listeners came at me pretty hard over my depiction of Travis Scott in this week's full episode, mainly on social media, where I called him a monster. and we alluded to it, of course, in the full episode. I'm not surprised. I get it. Fans are going to fan. But it doesn't change the fact that Travis Scott's actions at Astor World are indefensible.
Starting point is 00:03:46 And for those arguing that they are, that he couldn't have done anything about what went down, that he could not have prevented it. You just don't have the facts. I'm not going to relitigate it here in the bonus episode, but I am going to reinforce the fact that had Travis Scott not completed his full set at AstorWorld, he would not have received the $4.5 million streaming concert fee that was coming his way. That is the reason I believe that he did not stop playing when it was clear that people were getting hurt. Now, as I've stated in the Patreon chat, and a lot of you guys
Starting point is 00:04:24 know this, I used to sing in a band, a hardcore band. We weren't huge, but we were pretty big, and we played some big shows with pretty big crowds and violent crowds, too. I mean, this was, this was hardcore in the 90s. And you just knew, I knew as a singer, as the front person of this band, that someone goes down in the pit, things are getting out of hand, you stop the show. You stop the show and you make sure that that person is all right. Now, you might say, well, yeah, you were in a band. You were playing to like hundreds of people at most thousands of people sometimes.
Starting point is 00:04:57 And yeah, you're right. But I was also part of a scene that went to shows with much bigger bands. And I'm talking about from when I was a kid, so Fugazi, sick of it all, but even bigger bands, Pearl Jam, there was an sort of unsaid rule that this is, this was the responsibility of the front person to stop the show when someone got hurt in the crowd, when you noticed anything that was going to possibly harm somebody out there. You stopped the show and you made sure that person was all right, that they got the medical attention they needed or whatever. They got the water they needed. They got escorted from the crowd. They got pulled out. This is what response.
Starting point is 00:05:33 musical musicians did. This is how I learned. This is what I did. This is not what Travis Scott did. It's clear. Okay. I wasn't there, but you've heard the episode. You've heard what we dug up in the research. You can see some of this with your own eyes with the footage. You can hear the accounts from the people who were there. And again, I point to the fact that had he not finished the show, a $4.5 million fee was not coming his way. Okay. Now, you're saying, well, he didn't know. He did know. He did know. He said, how do you know he knew? He was on stage. You weren't on stage with him. Yeah. Okay, perhaps. But the shit that was going down was not that far away from him. Well, what about the lighting? You can't really see much when you're on stage. Yes, you're right. You can't. I know this. But you can get a vibe and you can see some things. And furthermore, he had somebody in his earpiece telling him that, hey, things are getting rowdy out there. You got to wrap it up. And he did not do it. Okay. That's where my point of view is coming from on this. Now, the greater question is why. And, you know, I'm hitting on it right here. I think it was greed, pure and simple. It is cynical, as this is going to sound, it was $4.5 million for 10 lives. That's how many people died at this show, 10 people. So like most psychopaths, the signs are obvious
Starting point is 00:06:51 in the rearview mirror. All right, Travis Scott tells us who he is in his lyrics to the song, money, power, respect, saying, quote, we got cash to get carrots hanging from my neck, money, power, respect. quit talking, cut the check. I'm not going to read more of this drivel masquerading as music, but you should know the lyrics go on to talk about Travis banging some dudes, niece, doing drugs and getting, quote, respect. This guy's a fucking tool. Getting respect.
Starting point is 00:07:20 Who brags about getting respect? Dudes with something to compensate for. That's who. The lyrics here would be excusable, perhaps even irreverent and funny if the music in the execution wasn't so pedestrian and simple. the only value the lyrics have is revealing the true character of this guy. Okay. Now, some listeners mentioned that Travis wasn't the only one to blame, and they are right.
Starting point is 00:07:41 That's why a $750 million lawsuit was filed on behalf of the victim's families, not just against Travis Scott, but against Live Nation, which was Astor World's partner, the promoter, excuse me, and then also against Apple Music, who was a partner of the show, and a couple of other corporate entities. the suit was settled out of court for an undisclosed amount. So score one for the good guys, I guess. The attorney who scored that win won Tony Busby, a larger-than-life, very successful ex-Marine from Texas-turned trial attorney.
Starting point is 00:08:17 Tony Busby also made a lot of news this week because Tony Busby announced that he is representing the 120 different people bringing individual cases, okay? a class action suit. 120 individual cases against one Sean Diddy Combs, alleging that Combs raped them and drugged them in order to do so. The Whopper news item in this development is that unlike the federal indictment filed a couple weeks ago against Sean Combs, these lawsuits, like I said, allege rape. They also allege that this sexual abuse happened against minors.
Starting point is 00:08:59 there are no minors mentioned in the federal indictment. Okay, but wait, there's more. Hold on a minute. When this news broke on Tuesday, I was already preparing to talk to you guys about this past weekend's newest Diddy News, which I didn't want to do, but the news was too compelling not to, okay? Attorney Ariel Mitchell Kidd recently went on News Nation,
Starting point is 00:09:20 that's a cable news show, to discuss her client, Andrea English's forthcoming civil lawsuit against Diddy, alleging a 2018 rape. It's worth mentioning that since the federal indictment was filed, a couple weeks ago, that the internet is awash with new allegations against Sean Combs. We talked about this in last week's bonus episode.
Starting point is 00:09:41 A lot of these allegations have zero proof. But what makes this allegation credible here, this one from Adria English, is that her attorney, Ariel Mitchell Kidd, who went on NewsNation to talk about this, she's claiming that her client filed a corroborated, corroborating police report, which is huge news. And it goes a long way in speaking to the credibility of the alleged claim.
Starting point is 00:10:03 And then, and then the attorney on News Nation in this interview, goes on to say separately from her client's case that she, the attorney, was solicited recently as a catch-and-kill attorney for a freak-off video featuring Combs and another individual who was, quote, more high profile than Sean Combs. You don't get much more high profile than Sean Combs. so who could this individual be okay you know why i'm talking to you guys about this this is i think this is a credible allegation and it's it's compelling i don't want to speculate who this individual might be but it's hard not to i will tell you there is a lot of speculation on the
Starting point is 00:10:46 internet on tic talk in particular about j z's culpability and all this is jz more high profile than did he perhaps i could make the case but i don't know think that's where the attorney was going because after dropping this bomb about the quote unquote more high profile individual allegedly having sex on this tape with Sean Combs there in the room allegedly the attorney mentions politicians so which politicians are more high profile than Sean Combs it's a very very short list so you can see why I'm talking about this with you right now. Somehow, however, this news was trumped with even more damning Diddy news. But before we get back to the rape being alleged by 120 individuals from the Texas attorney Busby,
Starting point is 00:11:39 I have to briefly bring you guys up to speed on another compelling, problematic yet credible to my eyes, victim that I became aware of over the weekend. And that's Ali Carter, whose TikTok video alleging that she was sex trafficked and abused by Diddy as a minor, a 14-year-old. is so horrifically specific that she is either an Academy Award worthy actress or has had unspeakable crimes perpetrated upon her by this fucking monster of a man, Sean Combs. It should be noted that I think Ali Carter thinks she's Tupac's daughter, and I know what that sounds like, but I would just encourage you to watch the video yourself. Carter claims to have been a quote-unquote party favor,
Starting point is 00:12:21 a 14-year-old sex trafficked sexual prop up for the offering at these parties, for quote unquote, demonic and degrading acts from combs and other high profile friends of combs. The claims are shocking, shocking, okay? And I'm not just going over this because they're shocking. To me, like I said, they seem credible. And I know I'm probably not adding, I'm probably not helping my case that these claims are credible here. I'm not articulating it well enough. I can hear that in my voice. But this is a gut check. This is the thing when you watch it, you kind of know. Okay?
Starting point is 00:13:00 First of all, party favor. Have we heard that before mentioned in this case? No, I haven't. I hadn't. And I'm all over this shit on TikTok and I have not seen it. I have not heard it until Ali Carter, okay? That's just one piece of this. Okay, you just have to, I'm going to talk about Ali Carter more in the bonus section of this after party.
Starting point is 00:13:22 But I encourage all of you guys to search up her. it's just like direct to camera on TikTok, she's giving her account of these events. Okay? Not safe for work, by the way, a little heads up. So she seems to me to be credible, but that's just my gut. So those were the two new developments, like I said, that I was reluctantly going to talk to you guys about this week because, like I said, last week, I am hoping to move on from this story as it develops behind the scenes while the feds build their case.
Starting point is 00:13:50 But that's not happening. The case is going to develop out in the open. and the credible evidence that is going to come out, I believe that is going to come out over the next 30 to 60 days. Again, the credible evidence is going to be impossible to ignore, all right? Which brings us back to the Busby bomb that dropped on Tuesday where, like I said, this Texas attorney is representing some 120 individuals alleging rape, many of whom are minors, all right, including a nine-year-old boy.
Starting point is 00:14:22 and after diving into the totality of the information available regarding these cases, which is basically just Busby's press conference at this point, it's clear to me that the separate allegations from Adria English and Ali Carter are very much part of the same pattern of abuse being alleged by Busby's clients. All right, some details alleged by Busby. He had nearly 3,000 people alleged abuse by Sean Combs, yet he is only representing 120 of them. Those are claimants that he and his investigators
Starting point is 00:14:56 have been able to find corroborating evidence to support their claims. Video, text, audio, physical evidence. Again, like with Adrienne English, filed police reports. And Busby's also claiming he has filed hospital reports. These claims span the last 30 years. Going back to the 90s all the way to this year,
Starting point is 00:15:18 2004, and there was just a recent article, I think it was in the New York Post from this morning. It talks about how defiant Diddy has been, even in the face of all the incoming claims over the last few months, in continuing to host parties, and continuing to host freakoffs. Okay? So my point, Busby's claims go back 30 years to the 90s to now, 2004. 25 of the 120 victims he's representing are minors. One, like I said, was nine years old at the time. Another was 14 years old at the time.
Starting point is 00:15:46 Another was 15 years old at the time. He details in his press conferences a couple of these, the specificities around the claims from the 14 and the 15 year old. And they're so upsetting. Okay? They are so upsetting. I can tell from the comments on Instagram or other comments I read on TikTok that a lot of people want these allegations to be true. They want to see the biggest names possible. I don't share that view.
Starting point is 00:16:13 I don't want this to be true. because if it is true, it is so horrifying, it is so evil. The human collateral is hard for me to wrap my brain around. And I don't want my brain to be, to be mired in it. But it just feels like it's going to be. The pattern here of the alleged abuse in the 120 new claims against Diddy, this pattern is very similar with these 120 new claimants and the alleged victims I mentioned earlier,
Starting point is 00:16:47 they're very similar. Combs offers some sort of professional carrot, allegedly, right? I'm going to make you a star or whatever. Lures the victim in, allegedly, drugs them. This is, now we knew drugs were involved to some extent, but we're getting specifics now from Busby. Allegedly drugs them with Trank, which is a horse tranquilizer.
Starting point is 00:17:07 And again, there are supposed hospital records backing these allegations up. And then once these women and men are properly tranquilized, they are raped, sometimes gang raped. Fuck. Think of that. Think of how horrible that is. And you might say this Buzzbee guy, this attorney, is an ambulance chaser, but is not quite. I looked into this dude and, you know, if you're going to call him an ambulance chaser,
Starting point is 00:17:39 I guess you could make the claim that he's like, the gold standard of ambulance chasers. But I wouldn't even say that. This guy is the real deal. Like I said, he was the one who brought the lawsuit in the Astero World case that we were just discussing. He is the real deal. He's a real trial attorney. This is this, again, this isn't a class action suit. His firm in partnership with another firm is trying these cases individually, i.e. foregoing a massive and arguably easier to obtain settlement to try these cases, individual. individually, which I'm no lawyer, but I'm assuming is a lot harder to do than just, you know, bulking them all into a class action suit and going at it that way. The other thing that's happening
Starting point is 00:18:21 here is Busby is offering to completely collaborate with the feds. This is something I'm going to figure out for you guys in the next seven days, what this means when a civil case like this is brought after a federal indictment and how we can read the tea leaves here in sort of the bureaucratic approach to figure out how credible exactly are these cases. Okay? And I think the way that Busby works or does not work with the federal government has something to do with this. And that's what my gut tells me.
Starting point is 00:18:53 I'm going to chase this down. Again, this just happened. I learned about it all this morning. I have a call into a lawyer friend of mine. I'm going to discuss it with her, hopefully, this evening. And I'll do some more research this week and I'll get back to you guys. Busby's charges, though, go way beyond what federal investigators are indicting combs on. Busby's offering to work with the feds, like I said, which tells me that he is confident in what he has
Starting point is 00:19:14 and that his evidence is so strong that he can't get boxed out by the feds and lose his big payday. Okay, that's sort of what my gut instinct tells me here, but I'm going to chase that down. I'm going to figure out if that's accurate. It might not be, but that's sort of just, you know, my assumption here. I watch Busby's press conference. He comes off as legitimately empathetic to the victim. He has victims advocates there as part of the press conference. I know that Busby is a lawyer, so I'm grading on a curve here, but this still matters.
Starting point is 00:19:42 And now I haven't even got to the most explosive part about this development. And that is this bombshell that Busby claims that, like I've been saying for weeks, that Sean Combs' abuse was the biggest open secret in the entertainment business and that, quote, many powerful people will be exposed. He goes on to say, the names will shock you. Many powerful people will be exposed. Busby's claiming as he pulls together his evidence for trial, and he says these names are going to start to come to light over the next 30 days.
Starting point is 00:20:19 Wow. Mike drop. I got to admit, to this point, I thought that we would get names. Yes, I said that last week. I thought that we would get video. I said that as well. But I thought what we were going to get. were names and video or this type of behavior.
Starting point is 00:20:35 And admittedly, I did not think it was going to be as bad as it has become alleged in the last seven days. Where we get these names and these videos of entertainers where this type of behavior was baked into the cake, okay, for the people who were about to be exposed, right? Rock stars, hip-hop stars, acting like hip-hop stars, okay? This now seems way more explosive to me. And again, I wouldn't be talking about it if I didn't think it was credible. And if it's not credible, if Busby, this turns out to be a total. Fugazi, some complete fraud. I will come on and I will eat fucking crow.
Starting point is 00:21:08 All right? You know me, guys. You know me. But I'm telling you this seems more legitimate, even than Jaguar Wright. And honestly, it's making me question Jaguar Wright. I can't believe I'm saying that publicly, but I am. It's making me question my questioning of Jaguar right is what I'm saying. Again, this seems more explosive now.
Starting point is 00:21:26 I was also of the mind when we spoke last week that the feds would try to control the collateral damage here. not let any friends, political donors, et cetera, not let them be exposed, right? There'd be a couple sacrificial lambs, right? They've got to throw some people into the fire here. But for the most part, you know, limit the damage, damage control. I feel like that's part of the Fed's MO, all right? Just that's based on my reading of history, the way the FBI has operated in the past,
Starting point is 00:21:54 the way the government has operated, the way the CIA has operated. They look after their own. And maybe they still will. But this Busby guy does not seem controllable by any, of the levers that the feds would likely pull. And again, back to my gut, the reason I say that is he's being very transparent. Now, I thought the Diddy might go down. I thought that Diddy might quite possibly get Epstein, right?
Starting point is 00:22:13 You know, maybe a couple Kubuging juniors end up in embarrassing TMZ videos, and we'd likely never get the full scope. That's where I thought this was going. I thought that rape and child abuse was off the table, that this was a skeevy guy doing skeevy things to other skeevy adults. And yes, even to some victims, but victims of age. I'm not so sure I think that anymore. I think the Sean Combs case could very well be Jeffrey Epstein
Starting point is 00:22:39 meets Bill Cosby meets Harvey Weinstein combined. I guess I'd be surprised at this point if we were to get a credible murder allegation in the coming weeks because then we'd have to add Aaron Hernandez's name to that list of names that I just rolled out to you. Right? I'm not going there yet. I'm not going full Jaguar right, not even close to it. Okay. Kim Porter, RIP, Becky, with the good hair as well.
Starting point is 00:23:01 But the only reason this right now in this moment, right now as I record this, which is Wednesday afternoon, you're going to get it on Thursday. The only reason that this doesn't seem as big as it is right now in this moment is because, guys, we are tapped the fuck out with the amount of things going on in the world right now that we could possibly give a shit about. There's a presidential election, a war in the Middle East, the Major League Baseball playoffs just started, the Mets, are in the playoffs. There's a giant port strike, devastating natural disasters that are impacting huge amounts of people in the American South. The amount of information that we are getting is relentless. It's a torrent, but strap it on because it's going to get wilder, I think. At least that's that I think this week, which I guess in a way contradicts what I said last week. So who knows where we'll be seven days from now, but maybe we will be discussing disgraced artists that we love who have come to
Starting point is 00:23:59 light as part of this Combs mess. Who might they, who will we be most upset to learn about that was part of this darkness for me it's j z as an artist i love j z okay you can hear it in the episode i did on it but man the allegations here are tough tic-tok is a light with the j z and ditty stuff and as i was thinking of this this morning i thought you know, in light of all the JZ allegations, you know, your Jaguar rights, your security guards, right, your, you're, whomever you can think of who's on TikTok talking about this, in light of all this nasty, nasty conjecture in the rumors alleging sexual abuse and even murder,
Starting point is 00:24:53 you know what nobody not one person has said about j z since this ditty stuff broke not one person nobody has come out and said you know what j z loves his wife j z is a family man j z loves and biance actually loves j z he would never do these things that are being alleged sure he went to parties at ditties but he left around midnight nothing good happens after midnight every family man knows that so j z wasn't there i can't see him being there nobody has said anything fucking close and that is telling more on sean combs coming i'm not sure how but it's coming we've got an episode on brandon lee coming as well next week as part of our october halloween programming okay brandon lee who died while making the crow
Starting point is 00:25:50 all right when you're listening i want you to be thinking about that billy joel lyric all right i'm not a big billy joel guy but this is relevant to what we're talking about with ditty as well ditty's a 54 year old man i believe what didy jill say only the good die young all right let me know relevant to brandon lee which artists actors musicians writers athletes died too young created a hole that just has not been filled who are they for you all right i want to know 617 906663638 that's going to be the question of the week for next as you listen to the Brandon Lee episode. I'm going to take a quick break right now. I'll be back in a flash with your voicemails, text, DMs, and more.
Starting point is 00:26:41 There's two golden rules that any man should live by. Rule one, never mess with a country girl. You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes. And rule two, never mess with her friends either. We always say that trust your girlfriends. I'm Anna Sinfield. And in this new season of the girlfriends, Oh my God, this is the same man.
Starting point is 00:27:05 A group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist. I felt like I got hit by a truck. I thought, how could this happen to me? The cops didn't seem to care. So they take matters into their own hands. I said, oh, hell no. I vowed I will be his last target. He's going to get what he deserves.
Starting point is 00:27:27 Listen to the girlfriends. Trust me, babe. On the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Remember when you'd walk into your local video rental place and there were always those two employees behind the counter arguing about movies? Well, that's us. I'm Millie to Cherico. And I'm Casey O'Brien. And now we're arguing about movies on our podcast, Dear Movies I Love You, from the Exactly Right Network. Can I say something about the criterion closet?
Starting point is 00:27:58 Go ahead, dude. They're letting too many people in there. Okay, that's another film grape I got to. Sadly, that rental place doesn't exist anymore. It's probably a store that sells running shoes. an ice cream shop with an extra pee and an E at the end. So consider us your slacker movie clerks in podcast form. I would like to establish a timeline of the moment you figured out who Channing Tatum was.
Starting point is 00:28:24 Every Tuesday, we dig into the movies we can't stop obsessing over, from hidden gems to big screen favorites. New episodes drop every week on the exactly right network. Listen to Dear Movies I Love You on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Your husband is not who you think he is. Your body is not what you thought it was. Your identity is formed by a secret history. I'm Danny Shapiro, and these are just a few of the stunning stories I'll be exploring on the 14th season of Family Secrets.
Starting point is 00:28:55 And just then, we felt the plain turn in the air, so much so that the bags that were under people's seats just kind of flew into the aisle. Each week, we dive head first into the complex power of secrecy, how it shapes our identities and relationships, and how it ultimately can reveal to us our truest selves. My daughter, she's pretending she doesn't know, but is trying to cook and feed me and keep me alive because I wasn't eating anything,
Starting point is 00:29:21 and me pretending like everything was fine. He kind of shoved me out of the way and said, move. And he went out the front door, and he jumped in a car and drove off, and that was the last time I saw him. Listen to season 14 of Family Secrets, starting May 7th on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:29:49 So you guys are thinking about Tom DeLong from Blink 182. I know I am as well, but you're thinking, hey, Tom DeLong was a CIA sciop. What? Some of you are thinking Tom DeLong is just deranged. And some of you, perhaps like me, are thinking he's a national treasure. Either way, please continue to get your questions into me about Tom DeLong from Blink 182. It is forwarding to the study of UFOs and involvement in government conspiracy.
Starting point is 00:30:13 At the highest levels, I might add, you can hit me up, 617-90666-6-6-3-8 with any questions you might have, any comments, leave a voicemail or send me a text. I'm going to bank these questions and these comments, and I'm going to answer them and address them live in the chat with you on October 9th during my special live stream for Moment Live. Tickets can be copped at Moment.co slash disgrace land, and I urge you to grab those now and grab your special Disgraceland, Extra turd disco merchandise. I don't know. I just made that up.
Starting point is 00:30:41 We got that there for you as well on the site, Moment.com, slash disgraceland. And again, this live stream is going to be a little different guys. It's not a one-way street. It's not me just yelling into a microphone. All right. I mean, it's that, of course, but it's also me on screen with you while I'm telling you a story, engaging with you in the chat and answering your questions. How am I going to do all that at once?
Starting point is 00:31:01 Do I have Octopus Arms? No, I don't, but I have a great staff and we're working on something we're putting together. Hopefully it's going to be awesome. Imagine a full episode of disgrace in, if you will, okay, but with images, with video, almost a little documentary, okay? But again, I'm there. I'm right there with you in the chat, answering the questions for you, all right?
Starting point is 00:31:18 Anything that comes up. So hit me up. 617-906663, and I want you guys to be a part of this event with me. Moment.com slash disgrace land to get your tickets. Speaking of calls and texts, let's check out this voicemail from the 540. Jake, I don't know where to begin.
Starting point is 00:31:34 Well, I guess I'll start at the beginning. This Travis Scott episode was, it was one of the most different. I've never had to stop listening to an episode in the middle, but in this one I did about three times. I'm terribly claustrophobic, so the vivid imagery you were weaving
Starting point is 00:31:55 had me anxiety ridden. But I had to finish listening to it because of the anger and the just sheer rage of it all. But the sad part is, I think it all boils down to greed and narcissism. I think that's all it is. and it's really, really, really disgraceful. But anyway, that was one of the best episodes.
Starting point is 00:32:23 And I don't even give two poops about Travis Scott, but, dude, Bravo, that was amazing. Duceus. Sorry to give you anxiety 540, but I am glad that the episode resonated with you, and I agree 100% on the greed in the narcissism bit, for sure. 617-90666-36-38 hit me up guys any voicemails any text whatever you got i want to do this i want to read this text from one of my favorite listeners laney who uh you might have we've we've chatted before here in the
Starting point is 00:33:00 after party and of course we've chatted on patreon and elsewhere laney leany texted in though um hey jake laney here i want to share on other things but i have no power from friday morning at six am until late Sunday night and no cell service until yesterday. My family and I were lucky. A lot of people still without, it's bad. The destruction and damage is horrible. My husband's brother-in-law had an extra generator and we were able to plug our fridge up to it. I've never witnessed so much hate and frustration yet community and togetherness at the same time. The first few picks here are from my street and neighborhood. The next few are just a few from the small town where we live in Fountain Inn. It literally pulled trees up.
Starting point is 00:33:41 from the roots, please continue to pray. Some places, some towns in North Carolina were completely wiped out. And Laney's pictures here are, they tell a very scary story. I'm sure you guys have seen some of these images online and on the news, though I don't think the news is covering this enough. The destruction that we're seeing in North Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, parts of Florida, of course, it's bad. It's really, really, really bad. And, you know, it's hitting disgrace on listeners, like it's hitting other people in the world as well. And Laney, I just want you to know that we're thinking of you. I'm thinking of you. I'm praying for you. I hope your family is doing as good as they can in this situation. Lany, I have a friend. We have one of my wife's best friends
Starting point is 00:34:30 and her family are down there as well. And it's bad. They got out, but a lot of their friends did not. and there's a lot of destruction and I know firsthand I'm getting that we're getting the text and it's you know guys these are these aren't just disgrace land listeners there are our fellow Americans and it's bad it's bad and the one thing I wanted to hit on here in particular was this this piece from from Laney's text where you know you can't see these pictures but she's she's in the middle of the destruction and you know she's she's talking about the community and the togetherness that she's feeling and seeing at the same time and I think that's really special.
Starting point is 00:35:08 I think that speaks to the character not only of Laney, but of disgrace him listeners as well, obviously, but also just our fellow Americans. I think that's a special thing. And when there's light, we should run toward it. So I wanted to give you that. If you want to support anybody who's been affected negatively by these storms and that's going through it right now,
Starting point is 00:35:29 couple organizations, Samaritanspurse.org, hit them up, make a donation, red cross.org as well. All right, let's do some more text here. 7-8-1 writes in, that's right. Fuck LeBron. Okay, I wanted to go dark there myself for a minute. 9-7-8 writes in, hey, Jake, I listened to Disgraceland at two times speed or sometimes one-and-half speed.
Starting point is 00:35:54 Am I alone? So when I hear you at normal speed, it's almost weird. I feel like your career has yet to take off. I mean, like it's going to take off and you're headed to Peter Thomas or Keith Morrison Strata, and they're going to take you from us. Everything I've loved has gotten co-op. by corporations and money fuckery. Most evil of evil?
Starting point is 00:36:10 The murder of John Lennon. A lot to unpack in that very short text from the 978. Yeah, I don't know. Am I going to take off? We'll see. I think the verdict's out. I don't know who Peter Thomas is.
Starting point is 00:36:25 Keith Morrison, I know, as the stepdad of Matthew Perry, one of our most recent subjects from disgrace. And yeah, most evil of evil, the murder of John Lennon, that's up there for sure. But I think this ditty stuff might be the darkest that we've encountered so far.
Starting point is 00:36:39 617-906-66-6638. You want to send me a voicemail. You want to send me a text. You can DM me at Disgracelam Pod. I got to read this Facebook message I got because it's hysterical. Hang on, guys. Where is it? Where is it?
Starting point is 00:36:57 Here it is it comes from Steven Stauffer who writes, God, you made a giant ass of yourself on that prince piece. You couldn't possibly have shown more clearly how little you know about guitar and about Prince. I'm blocking you because I'm worried that your idiocy is so immense that it is contagious. That's how big of an idiot you are. I'm probably going to lose IQ points from having watched you posture and preen. Well, Stephen, you know, you guys should know I responded to Stephen positively, of course. I thanked him for his very well-thought-out message and the care he took in time.
Starting point is 00:37:34 to write me to tell me how upset he was with me. But it didn't get through because he did indeed block me, which I think is hysterical. I know a lot about guitar, Stephen, all right? And I know a lot about Prince as well. I know more than your average bear about Prince. You want to know why, Stephen, if you're listening, I bet you're still listening, Stephen.
Starting point is 00:37:54 You blocked me, but I bet you still fucking listening, you little dirty fuck, aren't you? Listen, Stephen, my barber, Andrew, okay, seaport barbers in Boston, go check him out. He's the shit. He used to be Prince's bodyguard, okay? One of them. He was on the team. So I know a little bit, I know a little, I know some stuff, okay? As for my idiocy being immense, so immense that it's contagious. Well, at least I'm doing something, you know? All right, Stephen, just wanted to just wanted to shout back at you, let you know again how much I love you and I appreciate you. At this Graceland pod, you want to hit me up, guys, on Facebook, on Instagram, on X, on TikTok.
Starting point is 00:38:33 though I haven't responded to a TikTok message in quite a bit. My relationship with TikTok is this. It's like jumping into a swamp because you're just, you know, you've been, you're out in the wild. You're soaking wet with perspiration. You'll do anything to just get, you know, anything to just get, get what you want to get. And you see this body of water. And you know how bad it is to jump into that water because it's gross. But it is water and you jump in real quick and then you get to get out.
Starting point is 00:39:00 That's what I do in TikTok. I go in real quick and then I get out. And I see that I have messages. If you've messaged me there and I haven't responded, I apologize. Hit me up at DisgracelandPod on X, on Instagram, on Facebook. Disgracelandpod at gmail.com on the email machine. And I'm going to take a quick break. I'll be back in a flash and I will answer some of those emails.
Starting point is 00:39:25 There's two golden rules that any man should live by. Rule one, never mess with a country girl. You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes. And rule two, never mess with her friends either. We always say that trust your girlfriends. I'm Anna Sinfield, and in this new season of the girlfriends, Oh my God, this is the same man. A group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist.
Starting point is 00:39:53 I felt like I got hit by a truck. I thought, how could this happen to me? The cops didn't seem to care, so they take matters into their own hands. I said, oh, hell no. I vowed I will be his last target. He's going to get what he deserves. Listen to the girlfriends. Trust me, babe.
Starting point is 00:40:13 On the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Remember when you'd walk into your local video rental place and there were always those two employees behind the counter arguing about movies? Well, that's us. I'm Millie de Cherico. And I'm Casey O'Brien. And now we're arguing about movies on our podcast. Dear Movies I Love You from the Exactly Right Network. Can I say something about the Criterion Clause?
Starting point is 00:40:42 Go ahead, dude. They're letting too many people in there. Okay, that's another film, grape I got two. Sadly, that rental place doesn't exist anymore. It's probably a store that sells running shoes. Or an ice cream shop with an extra pee and an E at the end. So consider us your slacker movie clerks in podcast form. I would like to establish a timeline of the moment you figured out who Channing Tatum was.
Starting point is 00:41:07 Every Tuesday, we dig into the movies we can't stop obsessing over, from hidden gems to big screen favorites. I'm Danny Shapiro. And these are just a few of the stunning stories I'll be exploring on the 14th season of Family Secrets.
Starting point is 00:41:38 And just then, we felt the plain turn in the air. so much so that the bags that were under people's seats just kind of flew into the aisle. Each week, we dive headfirst into the complex power of secrecy, how it shapes our identities and relationships, and how it ultimately can reveal to us our truest selves. My daughter, she's pretending she doesn't know, but is trying to cook and feed me and keep me alive because I wasn't eating anything, and me pretending like everything was fine.
Starting point is 00:42:07 He kind of shoved me out of the way and said, move. And he went out the front door and he jumped in a car and drove off and that was the last time I saw him. Listen to season 14 of family secrets starting May 7th on the I-Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. All right, we are back to Scrace Lamppod at gmail.com. Send me an email about anything like this fine listener from, I don't know where he, she is from.
Starting point is 00:42:40 Aaron Schaefer writes in, suggested topic, Jarvis Cocker. Excuse me, Aaron is spelled with an E-R-I-N. So Aaron is a woman, I'm assuming. A message says, Hello, could you please do an episode on Jarvis Cocker? He's a very interesting person in general, but your audience might be most intrigued by his storming of the stage at the Brit Awards
Starting point is 00:43:01 during Michael Jackson's performance in 1996. Cocker was arrested and accused of assaulting a child, which was proven to be false by David Bowie and comedian slash lawyer Bob Mortimer. Well, I'm in. I'm in on a Jarvis Cocker episode. That's all it took. I love this.
Starting point is 00:43:17 Great suggestion. Did not know that about the child accusation. And of course, I love Jarvis Cocker and I love Pulp. So, yeah, this is, this sounds fun. Hit me up, like I said, at disgraceland pod on the social's disgraceland pod at gmail.com on email. You can hit me up about anything. I think we need to talk about Diddy a little bit more. You guys have questions.
Starting point is 00:43:38 Hit me up. As I said earlier, I'm going to address the Ali Carter video with a little more detail in the All Access bonus content that's part of this bonus. episode that's coming up soon. I wanted to, of course, like we do every week, thank you guys for the reviews. And just a little reminder, you guys ask, how can I support the show? Well, leave a review on Apple Podcasts on Spotify. It's a great way. Those of you whose reviews I've read in the past few weeks, check your emails. I've hit you up. If I missed you, hit me back. But I hit you up and you got some merch coming your way. All right? A couple of you guys I had questions for,
Starting point is 00:44:13 so get back to me. Ryan Proper on Spotify writes, Jake the tailspinner takes me. me through my very early morning drive. He brings these characters to life. Thank you, Jake, and thank you, Team Double Elvis, Rock A Rolla. Ryan, you are the man. Hit me up, and we will get you some free merch, okay? For new listeners, just a heads up, you know, you leave a review and I read it on here. You're going to get a little free something in the mail coming your way. Ryan also mentions Rock Arola, which reminds me we do have new merch coming in a couple weeks. I'll have that for you. It's all Halloween theme for our spooky October programming that we are in the midst of right now. Astro World, of course, was our kickoff into the sort of evil side of things.
Starting point is 00:44:57 We have the Brandon Lee from the Crow episode coming next week. Then we have an episode on the cramps. We have a new episode coming on The Exorcist. And we're going to be filling things in as well. Our rewind episodes are all going to be Halloween themed as well. Black Sabbath, ACDC, Ozzy, Osborne, so much. much more. It's going to be a very spooky month for you guys in the disgrace land feed. And like I said, we have some accompanying new merch to go along with this whole Halloween theme
Starting point is 00:45:27 that we're rocking. I'll have more on that next week for you guys. Kiwi Bubbs on Apple podcast, writes, beware addicting. I've listened to all the episodes of Disgraceland. And Jake is a fantastic storyteller hands down. I look forward to the drops every week and have yet to be disappointed. Keep up the great work, Jake and team Rockerola. you got it, Kiwi Bubs. Hit us up, Kiwi Bubs. Hit us up, Ryan. You heard me read your review.
Starting point is 00:45:51 Get at me via email. Get at me on the socials at Disgracelandpod. Discracelandpod at gmail.com and I will hit you back. I'll get you some free merch. All right. This episode is nearing its end. The after party continues, as you know, for our all access members. You might have suspected here.
Starting point is 00:46:07 I'm running into a little roadblock. We went really long in that first part of this episode, this bonus episode on Diddy content. I didn't talk about Astor World as much as I wanted to. I have not had the opportunity to address the new full episode that we just released on Pete Dardy from the Libertines, baby shambles. I haven't even mentioned that. I feel like I got a lot to say is my point. And I'm going to say some of it right now in the All Access portion of this bonus episode.
Starting point is 00:46:33 But if this ditty thing continues to unwind as voluminously as it seems to be doing with credible accusations, and we have something to talk about on a regular basis. I'm going to have to switch things up and I'm going to have to find a way to give that to you guys because I can't not talk about it. It's the biggest story in music and true crime in the history of music and true crime. So I don't know how I'm going to do that.
Starting point is 00:47:01 We're making it work right now with a little bit of spit and some glue and we'll figure it out going forward. In the meantime, if you're not an All Access member, I don't know what to tell you. You've got to become one. Go to Disgrace. slash membership to become an all-access member.
Starting point is 00:47:16 You're going to get, like I said, the additional after-party bonus content coming your way. You're going to get ad for you listening and you're going to get that full episode per month like the Pete Dorety one that I just talked about. All right, I'll be back in a flash. There's two golden rules that any man should live by. Rule one, never mess with a country girl.
Starting point is 00:47:45 You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes. And rule two, never mess with her friends either. We always say that trust your girlfriends. I'm Anna Sinfield, and in this new season of the girlfriends, Oh my God, this is the same man. A group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist. I felt like I got hit by a truck. I thought, how could this happen to me?
Starting point is 00:48:09 The cops didn't seem to care, so they take matters into their own hands. I said, oh, hell no. I vowed. I will be his last target. He's going to get what he deserves. Listen to the girlfriends. Trust me, babe. On the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Remember when you'd walk into your local video rental place
Starting point is 00:48:39 and there were always those two employees behind the counter arguing about movies? Well, that's us. I'm Millie de Cherico. And I'm Casey O'Brien. And now we're arguing about movies on our podcast, Dear Movies I Love You, from the Exactly Right Network. Can I say something about the Criterion Clause? Go ahead, dude. They're letting too many people in.
Starting point is 00:48:57 on there. Okay, that's another film, grape I got two. Sadly, that rental place doesn't exist anymore. It's probably a store that sells running shoes. Or an ice cream shop with an extra pee and an E at the end. So consider us your slacker movie clerks in podcast form.
Starting point is 00:49:12 I would like to establish a timeline of the moment you figured out who Channing Tatum was. Every Tuesday, we dig into the movies we can't stop obsessing over it, from hidden gems to big screen favorites. New Episodes drop every week on the Exactly Right Network.
Starting point is 00:49:30 Listen to Dear Movies I Love You on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Your husband is not who you think he is. Your body is not what you thought it was. Your identity is formed by a secret history. I'm Danny Shapiro. And these are just a few of the stunning stories I'll be exploring on the 14th season of Family Secrets. And just then, we felt the plain turn in the air. so much so that the bags that were under people's seats just kind of flew into the aisle.
Starting point is 00:50:00 Each week, we dive headfirst into the complex power of secrecy, how it shapes our identities and relationships, and how it ultimately can reveal to us our truest selves. My daughter, she's pretending she doesn't know, but is trying to cook and feed me and keep me alive because I wasn't eating anything, and me pretending like everything was fine. He kind of shoved me out of the way and said, move. And he went out the front door and he jumped in a car
Starting point is 00:50:24 and drove off, and that was the last time I saw him. Listen to season 14 of Family Secrets, starting May 7th on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. All right, I am back. Before we wrap up, though, go get your tickets to the Disgraceland Livestream event on October 9th, Moment.com slash Discraceland.
Starting point is 00:50:51 I'm about to get out of here before we do, before next week's episode on Brandon Lee. You're going to get a rewind episode coming your way. When you do check out that Brandon Lee episode, like I said before, be thinking of that Billy Joel lyric, Only the Good Die Young. let me know which artists, which actors, which musicians, writers,
Starting point is 00:51:05 athletes died too young, left a hole that has not been filled. Who in your estimation are those artists, all right? Okay, in this episode for the hip-hop fans, because we talked about Travis Scott, of course. There's an episode in our archive that I was reminded of. I've always loved this episode. I always forget to recommend it. It's an ASAP Rocky episode, episode 45 from November 26, 2019.
Starting point is 00:51:27 Check that out. Also, one thing we haven't yet talked about relative to this whole diddy. thing is Eminem's place in all this. And it's very interesting. Eminem is no fan of Diddy. And, you know, maybe I'll get into that next week if there's any relevance to whatever else is popping off. But it just reminded me, I love the Eminem episode, episode 43. That's November 5th, 2019. There's a whole horror core sort of side of Eminem as well from his early days. So this is relevant to the month of October. Check that out. Talked about Prince, of course. That's episode 59 from our archive from June 9th, 2020.
Starting point is 00:52:07 So get on that if you want a little prints nostalgia, a little purple nostalgia. All right, thanks for the calls, guys, thanks for the voicemails, thanks for the reviews. I love the engagement. Love what we got going on here. Keep it up. I'm going to jump. Before I do, let's recap. Number one, right now in your feed, our episode on Travis Scott and his Astro World.
