This is exactly right.
Double Elvis.
When a group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist, they take matters into their own hands.
I vowed. I will be his last target.
He is not going to get away with this.
He's going to get what he deserves.
We always say that trust your girlfriends.
Listen to the girlfriends.

Movies can make you feel, make you dream.
Sometimes they even make you appreciate architecture.
Is there anybody who's been hotter in a doorway
than Elizabeth Taylor?
That's the kind of analysis you'll find every week on Dear Movies I Love You, the new podcast from the Exactly Right Network.
Every Tuesday, we break down the films we're crushing on, from blockbusters to deep cuts.
Listen to Dear Movies I Love You on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Hey, discos, need a little more disgrace land in your life? Just a touch to get you through?
Yeah, me too. This is the podcast that comes after the podcast. Welcome to Disgraceland, the After Party.
Welcome to the disgraceland bonus episode, a little thing we like to call the after party.
This is the show after the show, the party after the party, the bridge to get you from one full episode of disgrace land to the other, the backyard to dig into the dirt.
On this bonus episode, we are talking about this week's subject of the disgrace land full episode, River Phoenix.
Great actors from the 1990s. We've also got a special disgraceland announcement.
And of course, we are diving into your voicemails, texts, and more.
And as always, a whole lot of rosy.
All right, discos, let's get into it.
On October 31st, 1993, Tupac Shakur was charged with two counts of aggravated assault
for shooting his gun at two off-duty police officers the day before.
Also, on October 31, 1993, English actress Letitia Wright was born.
Lettisha would go on to act in the film Black Panther,
a big-budget, mainstream superhero flick that loosely played homage to the radical
Black Panther political party from the 60s and the 70s, an organization that Tupac Shakur was raised
in, basically. Tupac's mother and stepfather were both members of the Marxist-Leninist Black Panther
political group. Federico Fellini, the famous and influential filmmaker, had no politics.
His films, at least, were apolitical in nature. He died on October 31st, 1993.
Fellini was a major influence on director Tim Burton. Tim Burton's filmmaking, with its distinctive
style is described as Burton-esque in the same way that Felini's filmmaking is described as
felini-esque. On the day the Federico Felini died on October 31st, 1993, Tim Burton had the number
one movie at the box office, A Nightmare Before Christmas. Currently, in 2004, 31 years later,
the internet is alight with rumors that a live-action version of Tim Burton's A Nightmare Before Christmas
is in the works, potentially starring Tim Burton's friend in frequent collaborator Johnny Depp.
Now, on October 31, 1993, Johnny Depp was in production with Tim Burton on the biopic
Ed Wood about the idiosyncratic cult director who's incredibly campy in and sexploitative films,
Plan 9 from Outer Space, Bride of the Monster, Orgy of the Dead, among others, were most
certainly being shown on that Halloween weekend back in 1993.
But Johnny Depp was not watching movies on October 31st.
first, 1993. He was on stage playing guitar with his band P at his nightclub, the Viper Room, on the
Sunset Strip in Los Angeles. On stage with Johnny that night were musicians, Al Jorgensen from
Ministry, Ben Motench from Tom Petty's heartbreakers, Gibi Haynes, from the Butthole Surfer's
and flee from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. John Fruciante from the Red Hot Chili Peppers got up to
play that night, but he was so fucked up on drugs that he vomited on stage before stumbling off without
playing much of anything at all. We've detailed all of this to you, the parts about the Viper Room in
this week's full episode on River Phoenix, who was at that moment in the crowd there with John Fruciante,
his good friend on October 31st, 1993, and Rivers there in the audience hoping to get up on stage
with his guitar to jam with this incredible group of musicians. Now, prior to arriving at the
Viper Room, River Phoenix and John Frusciante were on a day's last.
long, massive drug binge that involved a routine of smoking crack or shooting mainlining
cocaine and then immediately shooting heroin afterward to level off that crack cocaine high.
So by the time both met a ride at the Viper Room on October 31st, 1993, they were blitzed.
And upon arrival, immediately more cocaine was provided to them.
Now, they're high, they're there, they're in the audience.
P is performing on stage.
Okay, again, that's the butthole surfers guy, Gibi Haynes, that's just,
Johnny Depp, that's, who else did I say, flee, Al from ministry. I'm not sure who was playing drums.
But anyways, P is on stage. And they're playing a song of their's entitled Michael Stipe, okay?
Michael Stipe from R.E.M. Now, this is a song that details, I've never heard it, but I was reading
about it this morning. It details the absurdity of Hollywood fame. And the song name checks,
among others, not only Michael Stipe, of course, but director, Sophia Copp. But also,
River Phoenix, who like I said was in the audience at that moment, he's name-checked in that song as well.
And while he's being named-checked in that song that's being performed live on that stage at that moment, River Phoenix is in the audience overdosing.
Now, again, as detailed in this week's full episode on River Phoenix, River was ushered out onto the sidewalk where he passed out and died.
Flea accompanied his dead friend to the hospital in the back of the ambulance.
the next day, Johnny Depp and everyone else with a bold-faced name who was at the Vipan Room on October 31, 1993, left town.
The next film that River Phoenix was to star him was interview with a vampire.
But of course, River Phoenix did not star in that role.
Christian Slater did.
It's hard to argue that the movie wouldn't have been better with River Phoenix playing the part of Daniel Malloy.
Christian Slater made some pretty forgettable films after interview with a vampire,
Murder in the First, Bed of Roses, Julian Poe, among them.
I don't think I've seen any of those movies.
So I can't really speak to them.
But the fact that I haven't seen them or been compelled to see them, it says something.
Now, had River Phoenix made interview with the vampire, what films would he have starred in afterward?
This is very tough to answer.
But interview with the vampire was released in 1994.
So we get some idea of what films were in production around, in and around that time when River
died when interview with the vampire was made, when he would have been making it, and then what
films were in production afterward that we can sort of tell by who starred in them, which roles
might have been offered to River Phoenix, or might have been available to him, I should say.
Okay.
Again, interview with the vampire was released in 1994.
After that, Leonardo DiCaprio starred in 1995's Basketball Diaries, a role that one of you guys,
I can't remember who, but I apologize, just thank you for DM.
I mean, one of you guys suggested that River would have been perfect in basketball diaries.
And I agree.
Also, in 1995, Brad Pitt starred in seven.
Now, that's another role that I could see River Phoenix in.
After that, it starts to get real interesting when you imagine River Phoenix maturing into manhood
and considering what films he would have taken on, what films that went to other people.
Okay?
How about Leonardo DiCaprio's role in The Departed from 2006?
or how about River as part of George Clooney's 2001 ensemble for Oceans 11?
I can see him in both these roles, and he would have killed it.
He was an incredible actor.
He was quite literally, I believe, the best of his generation.
How these films would have turned out with him in them, we'll never know.
Of course we won't, okay?
We're also not going to know who gave River Phoenix that drink on October 31st that was
spiked with heroin and cocaine that killed him. This is a subject that we touch upon, of course,
in the episode. I'm tempted to ask you guys who you think gave that lethal drink to River Phoenix,
but I don't want our discourse here to devolve into conjecture. The rumors, however, are very compelling
and they're worth looking into in your free time. If, of course, I thought there was real
corroborating evidence that linked any of the Viper Room attendees that night to River Phoenix's
death, I would say so, but the real proof, the hard proof, it just isn't there yet. So all of this
is relative to that night, October 31st, 1993, which is a big part detailed in this week's
full episode of the disgrace sign podcast on River Phoenix. The River Phoenix loss was a hard one for a lot of you.
I know this because I've heard from you.
I've heard from you in the DMs.
I've heard from you on voicemail.
I've heard from you via text.
Next week, I didn't plan this.
I mean, I planned it, but I didn't intend for this to be the result.
Next week, we've got another story about another actor, and it's a tough loss.
It's coming your way on Tuesday.
It's on Matthew Perry, whose death is still very much part of the headlines.
But rather than continue to delve into the sadness connected to the loss,
of a beloved actor or to delve into who or who may not have been culpable in the actor's
death, because that's still very much a question that's out there. I'd like to keep this
week's question of the week a bit lighter just because, okay, we could do it some lightness
after the heaviness of these episodes. So when you're listening to the Matthew Perry episode,
whether or not you're a friend's guy or girl or whatever, or whether or not you're like
Seinfeld Moore or whatever, whatever your taste, when you're listening to the Matthew Perry episode,
obviously we're talking about television.
So I want you guys to be thinking about
what is the greatest television show of all time.
All right?
That's what I want to talk about
in the after party with you guys next week.
That's what I want to be talking with you guys
on text about on voicemail in the DMs.
In a lot of ways, it's a super basic question, of course,
but in a lot of ways it's an impossible question to answer also.
Friends, Seinfeld, their sitcoms.
They happen right there at the edge of pre-peak television.
They're kind of part of that last generation
of, I don't want to say bad television because obviously friends and Seinfeld are not bad television
and there was some great television being made in the 90s. NYPD Blue stands out.
There's more if I thought about it for a minute. I could come up with some other examples.
But what happens after Friends goes off the air is we get this explosion of incredible television
where the medium really starts to change. Sopranos, The Wire, Mad Men, Breaking Bad,
all those shows are truly great.
There's probably five or ten more examples
that I can list that are also truly great.
Not good, great.
But at the end of the day,
what are you returning to at night?
What are you chilling out with?
What are you unwinding with at night before you crash?
Is it breaking bad or is it Seinfeld?
Is it the wire or is it friends?
What is the number one
greatest television show of all time?
It is a tough question to answer,
but I want you guys to try.
I want you to hit me up,
617-906-66-36-36-3-8. Leave me a voicemail, send me a text.
DM me at Disgraceland Pot on Instagram-X-Facebook to let me know.
I'm going to take a break. I'll be back on a flash with your answers from last week's question of the week.
There's two golden rules that any man should live by.
Rule one, never mess with a country girl.
You play stupid games, you get stupid prizes.
And rule two, never mess with her friends either.
We always say that trust your girlfriends.
I'm Anna Sinfield, and in this new season of The Girlfriends,
Oh my God, this is the same man.
A group of women discover they've all dated the same prolific con artist.
I felt like I got hit by a truck.
I thought, how could this happen to me?
The cops didn't seem to care, so they take matters into their own hands.

my first thing is always, can you think of anything else that you can do?

Dennis Leary.
I wake up, and I'm hitting him in the head with a water bomb.
And Bruce Jenner is on the aisle in a karate stance, like he's about to attack me, like,
making karate noises.
And his entire, the Kardashian family over there, everybody's going,
and the air marshal is trying to grab my arms and screaming.
I immediately know that I've been asleep walking.
David O'Yello-O.
I love this podcast, whether it's therapy or relationships or religion or sex or addiction
or you just go straight for the guts.
Guy Branham.
So anyway, Nicole Kidman broke up with Keith Thurban.
Being half of a country couple was always a hat she was going to wear, not like a life she was going to lead.
Oh, interesting.
I like that.
Did you practice that on your way over?
Gaten Matarazzo from Stranger Things.
Tena Monjou.
Camilla Morone at Carrie Kenny Silver.
And more.
Listen to these episodes of Dear Chelsea on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Remember when you'd walk into your local video rental place and there were always those two employees behind the counter arguing about movies?
Well, that's us.
I'm Millie to Cherico.
And I'm Casey O'Brien.
And now we're arguing about movies on our podcast, Dear Movies I Love You, from the Exactly Right Network.
Can I say something about the criterion closet?
Go ahead, dude.
They're letting too many people in there.
Okay, that's another film grape I got to.
Sadly, that rental place doesn't exist anymore.
It's probably a store that sells running shoes.
Or an ice cream shop with an extra pee and an E at the end.
So consider us your slacker movie clerks in podcast form.
I would like to establish a timeline of the moment you figured out who Channing Tatum was.
Every Tuesday, we dig into the movies we can't stop obsessing over, from hidden gems to big screen favorites.
New episodes drop every week on the exactly right network.

All right, guys, before we get into your voicemails and text messages, I got to let you know about something cool with coming up on October 9th.
I'm doing a live stream version of the disgrace land podcast.
You guys can join me, of course, make this more interactive and fun.
I'm doing this for you guys.
This episode that we're doing live, it's part of the live stream.
It's going to be on Blink 182's Tom DeLong and his obsession with aliens and the UFO phenomenon.
And very non-conspiratorial, very real impact that Tom DeLong has.
has actually made. The contribution to Tom DeLong, the guitar player of Blink 182 has made to society,
is pretty fucking mind-blowing. And this is a very creepy story. It involves shadowy government
figures, life from other realms. And of course, it's Blink 182. So it also involves
dick jokes, fart jokes, all that good stuff. There's even an arrest for the true crime heads,
sort of. Anyhow, the show is October 9th, 2004. It's less than a month away. You guys can get tickets
It's at moment.com slash disgrace land.
It's just 15 bucks to get in.
That's like three Fugazi shows from back in 1996,
but I don't think that's helping my argument.
Anyways, this show, okay,
it's going to be a live stream version
of the disgrace land podcast.
It's going to be a live stream version of the podcast
that we usually bring you guys in audio.
We're going to be bringing it to you on the screen.
And I'm not stopping there.
I'm going to be doing a special live stream after party.
Okay, that's going to be offered
after the live stream podcast.
that's five bucks to get into you,
but Patreon members get in for free.
So if any of you guys are thinking about becoming a Patreon,
all-access member,
now is the time because the five bucks you pay to join
is also going to get you into the live stream after party for free.
All right.
Finally, finally, the special live stream event
is going to have special merch for this event as well.
That's available right now.
You can get that at moment.com slash disgraceland.
Two awesome shirts, fans of the X-Files,
fans of Discraceland,
fans of Tom DeLong. You're going to love these designs. You can cop those shirts now again at
moment.com slash disgrace land. But merchandise aside, get your tickets, guys, for October 9th.
All right. I'm pumped to bring you this story. So moving on. Let's hear from you guys.
We're back with your voicemails, your text, your DMs right here. Last week's question of the
week on who the greatest actor of the 1990s was. Let's hear from this voicemail from the 904.
Jake Barry from the 904 too much to type
The best actor from the 90s
I agree with a Phoenix
Some folks might say Tom Hanks
Tom Cruise
I'm throwing Robert De Niro in
Which you know like who's the great
Baseball team ever
The New York Yankees well it's kind of like
You know shit
But De Niro was in Casino
He did a Bronx sale
He would get good fellas
Mother fucking heat
Dackie Brown
Fucking Copeland
Which has got to be
One of the most underrated
And underappreciated movies
From the 90s
If you just look at the cast
Amazing films
So not only was he
The volume of his films
But the quality
Yeah he was just in a shitload
Casino
I think Casino
Just a shitload of great movies
So it might not be the most popular pick
But he killed it
In the 90s
One could say Tom Hanks
Two Academy Awards
Philadelphia, Forrest Gump,
had a variety of roles,
just completely different characters.
But yeah, for me,
I gotta say De Niro,
just because of the quality of all the films
he was in in the 90s.
So that's it, man.
Appreciate it.
Very.
9-04, your Yankees comment,
it's stinging this Red Sox fan.
I cannot argue with you.
I can't argue with you about your De Niro pick either.
He's not somebody that,
I would have thought of it. When you lay it all out there, he truly did kill it in the 90s.
And Copeland, underrated film. You're absolutely right. Incredible film. And De Niro's role in it,
especially. You blew it! Just so fucking good. Okay, thank you, Barry. Appreciate it. Real quick,
Barry, that reminds me, I saw Copeland in the theaters when it came out. I was on tour with my band,
Cast Iron Hike. And we were right around New Jersey, New York. And I remember we were all
blown away by the movie. We were blown away by Michael Rappaport's character, Superboy.
And we were in New York City. We were down, like Little Italy, like Mott Street, Prince
Street, something like that. We were in our van. We had the windows open. And we had just seen
Copland. It was like the night before or that day or something. It was really fresh, is the point.
And we all heard this voice outside the van. We were stopped in traffic.
you know, on one of these tiny New York City streets.
And we hear this voice coming through the window.
And we all just had this look of recognition.
Like, what the hell is happening?
And we look.
And it's Michael Rappaport right outside the van talking to somebody.
And we could hear his voice.
It was fresh in our mind from, of course, seeing him very recently in Copeland.
That blew my mind.
Anyhow, there's a little Copland story for you.
Okay, let's get back into some voicemails here.
Last week, of course, we released an episode on the NFL, and Carol Rosenblum was part of that episode.
Carol Rosenblum was the owner of the Baltimore Colts in the Los Angeles Rams.
We actually got this voicemail from Carol Rosenblum's nephew.
Hey, what up?
My name is Asher, and I was scrolling through my Spotify fee today.
Your podcast came up about NFL and the origins of it.
I knew right about who was about because my great uncle was Carol Rosenblum.
and I grew up with these stories of him doing these crazy things.
My grandmother remembers being in the locker room, meeting all the players.
Her uncle was Carol, her dad's brother.
And we grew up in the family with this notion that Carol was a bad, bad guy.
I'm 25 years old now.
And Carol was not liked in the family.
He was always considered a bad dude.
Please check me if you want any more questions.
Well, thank you very much for that episode.
I really enjoyed.
Asher, incredible to hear from you,
man, thank you. Appreciate you calling in. I'm sure the stories that you've heard about your uncle
go way beyond the ones that we told in the last NFL episode that we did, and those episodes
are pretty fucking nuts. I appreciate you calling in. Thank you, Asher. All right, let's do some
text, guys. 617-90666-36-3-8. You want to leave me a voicemail. You want to send me a text. Let's do this
text from the 818. Hey, Jake, Mickey here. Long text warning. We have a two-party here. Part one is in response to
your question of who was the best actor of the 1990s. I have one that I think is just tough to argue
against. We got Denzel Washington. Mobeda Blues, Rickachia, Malcolm X, the Pelican Bree, Philadelphia,
crimson tie, devil in a blue dress, courage under fire, fall, and he got game, the siege,
the bone collector, the hurricane, and that's only a few. Number two, Daniel Day Lewis, a close second.
But my opinion on the subject of River Phoenix, I think River is probably the James Dean of our generation.
Some might say Heath Ledger, which is a tough one to disagree with. I don't think DiCaprio, Gosling,
Pitt, Matt Damon, Wahlberg, even Joaquin, would have had as many parts if River were still in the
mix. That being said, it also would have been great to see River joined forces with his contemporaries,
and I'm out, as always, keep doing what you do. Mickey, thanks. Awesome text. Yeah, you're absolutely
right. When you rattle off those names, when you rattle off DeCaprio, Gosling, Pitt, Matt Damon,
Wahlberg, even Joaquin, it's tough, it's tough. It's tough. You know, I love all those guys,
and I love what they've done,
I should say, throughout their career.
And it's tough to think about
what would have not been available to them
had River Phoenix remained alive and working.
Great text, Mickey, appreciate you.
The 732 text in, hey, good morning from the 732,
just listen to the after party.
Thank you for the Keith Jarrett recommendation.
Great stuff.
We'll explore more.
Mark, thanks for the text.
I was actually listening to Keith Jarrett
right before I got on the mic.
But I wasn't listening to the last.
song or the album that I recommended to you guys. The song was The Rich and the Poor. What I've
been listening to lately is the Kohl concert. Am I pronouncing that the correct way? I don't think I
am. It's Kohn, as in Kohn, K-O-L-N. That's from January 24th, 1975. The track is actually
entitled January 24-1975, Part 2C. Okay? Check that out. Cone concert, Keith Jarrett, January 24,
1975, part 2C.
Guys, this is reminding me of old school after party here with the recommendations.
I miss the recommendations.
I kind of want to bring the recommendations back in some form.
I don't know what.
I don't feel like the after party is a medium for it, though, because this thing is packed.
It's jam-packed.
And I'm always making these things too damn long.
And Matt's always complaining to me.
They're too long, man.
I got to edit this shit.
What are you doing going on and on and on?
But hey, you guys, you know, we've got to talk.
But maybe there's another spot for the recommendations.
Where, I don't know.
Let's keep talking about that.
617-906-66-6638.
Send me a text guy, send me a voicemail.
Send me your recommendations.
What are you listening to?
I want to know.
And you can also hit me up at Disgraceland Pod on X, on Instagram, on Facebook, just like G.
Todd Monday on X who writes, hey, anyone that's a fan of Al Davis, casino, and the old

the Kardashian family over there,
everybody's going,
and the air marshal is trying
to grab my arms and screaming.
I immediately know that I've been
at sleepwalking.

Guy Branham. So anyway, Nicole Kidman
broke up with Keith Thurban.
Being half of a country

Oh, interesting.
I like that.
Did you practice that on your way over?

I'm Kate Winkler Dawson, host of the Wicked Words podcast.
Each week I sit down with the true crime writers behind some of the most compelling true crime stories
and discuss their years spent investigating and why it still matters.
He sees his father coming out of the woods with his hands over his face,
and he knows something happened.
His father just grabs him and says she's gone. She's gone.
These are the cases that leave survivors, families, and the journalists who cover them changed forever.
Working in national television, it'll push you to your limits, and you'll end up doing things you never thought you do.
You know, you look back at it and you're like, I can't believe that really happened.
Join me and step inside the investigation.
New episodes drop every Monday on the exactly right network.

This one comes from Val, V-E-Z-G-A, who writes.
Hey, I love your podcast, and I'm a Britney Spears fan slash aspiring law students.
So I was very happy to listen to the Free Britney episodes.
However, I'm concerned, three exclamation points, because you describe the mole at the Free Britney
protests as wearing short shorts and fishnet tights with an old circus tour t-shirt.
And that was me.
Pictures attached.
I'm not a mole.
These are my lifelong friends, and I was a major part of helping the movement get organized.
including my change.org petition with 80,000 signatures that I sent as a nuisance via facts to Sam
Ingram twice a week. Imagine my surprise and horror when you said that. Four exclamation points.
I know you were just characterizing the unknown mole, but what are the chances?
Anyway, love the podcast. Just had to clear my name. You got it, Val. That's incredible.
Thanks, Val. I appreciate the email and the pictures, of course.
Discred Sampod at gmail.com. Guys, you want to get in touch. Let's do one more of these emails.
All right, this one comes from Justin, who sends a picture of Phil Linen from Thin Lizzie and says,
it's the boy's birthday today.
Would have been 75.
I love Thin Lizzie for the 10th,000th freaking time.
Okay, let's see.
What else are we talking about here?
Disgracelynipot.
Atgmill.com.
You guys want to send me an email, all right?
Oh, some reviews.
The reviews have been great.
Guys, the best way you can help this show, as you know, is to leave a review on Apple Podcast
or on Spotify.
Okay, this helps with Discovery.
you also know, I pick a couple reviewers every week. I read them here on air. You hear your names.
You send me an email and then I send you some merchandise. Whatever we got lying around,
T-shirts, pins, patches, whatever it is. I'm not making any promises. You're going to get
something, okay? But you got to hear your name and you got to email me. You got to be patient,
okay? I'm getting to you. I am. I promise. I'm getting to you. Got to some of you already.
I'll get to some more. Keep the reviews coming. We very much appreciate it. Chris Hillman on
Spotify writes, Jake, love this episode.
on River, such a great young talent gone way too soon. I watched Stand By Me so many times growing up
and it's still one of my favorite movies. The mass puking scene is great. A shame. River had so many
addictions and he couldn't overcome. He would have been a great actor by today's standards.
The best actor of the 1990s, though, my pick would be Tom Hanks. Saving Private Ryan,
Forrest Gump, to name a few, love disgrace land. Keep up the great work. You got it, Chris. Appreciate you.
Chris get in touch. We'll get you some merch. Kelsey Marie writes on Apple Podcast,
Simple the best. I think she means simply the best. Five stars. Kelsey goes on to say,
my brother and I have a nine-year age gap. So growing up, we didn't have a lot in common.
What we did have in common, though, was the love for music our parents instilled in us.
And now in our 30s and 40s, we still enjoy sharing new music or rediscovered music with each other.
When I discovered disgrace land a few years ago, it reminded me so much of the conversations my brother and I would have.
I shared it with him. And now every Thursday, he, my sister-in-law, my partner and I get together to have an after-after party,
discussing the episodes, curating playlists, and just having a good time. Kelsey, you are the best,
your brother's the best, so is your sister-in-law, and so is your partner. Kelsey, don't boggare
at those playlists, share them with us, okay? Hit us up at Disgraceland Pod on, I don't know,
where I guess Instagram, X perhaps, give us a link to the playlist. I'll share them out here.
I'll direct people to your Spotify or wherever you're putting them together.
guys appreciate the reviews appreciate the emails i appreciate the calls i got a question for you
one of the things we're thinking about doing here at disgrace land for a bunch of technical and
production reasons that will bore you is moving the full episode a day earlier to mondays
um honestly i can't see a negative in doing this but if there is some reason that you guys
don't want episodes on monday and you prefer them on tuesdays for some
that I'm not considering, a good reason I should say, let me know. All this would mean to you guys,
if we shifted this up a day, would be you would be getting the episode a day earlier. And I can't
see why that's a bad thing. So just let me know. That's one thing we're considering. Another thing,
like I said, recommendations. I miss the recommendations. I miss talking to you guys about what I'm
listening to, what I'm watching and what I'm reading. And yeah, if you get erect, send it my way.
All right. And I'm thinking, I'm noodling. I'm noodling on some recommendations.
stuff for you guys. All right. This episode is nearing its end. The after party, it's going to continue
for you all access members. You know that. You're non-all-access members. You probably know that too.
You probably also know how you can get the rest of this after-party, how you can get ad-free
listening, how you can get an extra episode of disgrace land every month. It is by becoming an all-access
member. And if you do so on Patreon, now you're going to get entrance into that after-party
live stream that I was talking about as well. You got to go to disgracelandpod.com.com
slash membership to become an all access member.
All right.
Also from the realm of things that we're considering doing here
to the show to make this a more valuable experience for you guys
is letting the all access members pick the all access episodes,
that extra full episode that you're going to get per month.
How does that sound?
That's something we're thinking about doing very close to pulling the trigger on that.
Disgracelandpod.com slash membership.
We're going to take a quick break back in flash.
There's two golden rules that.
any man should live by.
The cops didn't seem to care.
So they take matters into their own hands.
I said, oh, hell no.
I vowed I will be his last target.
He's going to get what he deserves.
Listen to the girlfriends.
Trust me, babe.

we have some fantastic guests like Amelia Clark.
When, like, young people come up to me
and they want to be an actor or whatever.
My first thing is always, can you think of anything else that you can do?
Rather be disappointed in.
Do that.
Dennis Leary.
I wake up and I'm hitting him in the head with a water bomb.
And Bruce Jenner is on the aisle in a karate stance.
Like he's about to attack me.
Like, making karate noises.
And the entire the Kardashian family over there, everybody's going,
and the air marshal is trying to grab my arms and screaming.

All right, we are back.
Before we wrap up, however, go get your tickets.
Disgraceland live streams coming on October 9th moment.com slash disgraceland.
All right, I'm about to get out.
But before I do, before next week's episode on Matthew Perry, there will be a rewind episode from our archive popping up in your feed.
Speaking of the archive, we mentioned Ben Montench.
A keyboard extraordinaire from Tom Petty's Heartbreakers, and we, of course, have an episode on
on Tom Petty in our archive, episode number 94, released on January 25th, 2022. I love this episode.
It gets into the weird arson involving his house and the burning down of his house and all that.
You're going to love it if you haven't heard it. Go check that out.
We also mentioned Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers. And though we don't have an episode
on the Chili Peppers, we do have an episode on Chet Baker. What does Chet Baker fame jazz
junkie have to do with Flea from the Red Hot Chili Peppers?
just as Flea acted in my own private Idaho with River Phoenix.
I bet you didn't know that or maybe you did, who knows.
Flea also appeared alongside Chet Baker in the excellent documentary.
Let's Get Lost, okay?
If you want those James Dean of Jazz Romance vibes,
you want to explore the weird death of Chet Baker
and hear about his days as a cat burglar
while also being a famed trumpet player,
then check out our Chet Baker episode from September 9th, 2020.
That's episode number 63.
We also mentioned Sophia Coppola.
Sophia's dad directed The Godfather.
The Godfather starred Al Pacino.
Al Pacino is episode 188, released just a couple of months ago on July 30th.
So you get that for you if you're ready for it.
Beginning right around that time, July of this year, 2004, right around the time,
a little bit after the Al Pacino episode, beginning around the time, we released the Metallica
episode, the Britney Murphy episode from a couple weeks ago.
Right around that time, we started to experience a new jump in listenership.
So I just want to say thank you to all the new listeners out there.
I continue to bang this drum about our archive.
And I want you guys to know if you knew we have episodes for you guys on a wide array of artists.
The ones I just mentioned here only scratched the surface.
Dive into that disgrace in archive.
Binge away.
Miles Davis, the Eagles, YouTube, Blondie in excess.
So, so, so many more.
Discos, all you old time heads, you guys who have been spreading the word continuously
and helping to bring the new listeners in.
Thank you.
I appreciate you.
You know it.
All right.
I get to get out of here.

Sometimes a suspect is found guilty
before a verdict is
ever read in court. On the Wicked Words podcast, I talk with the writers who dig deep into the
cases that changed history, including Marsha Clark, who went from prosecuting one of the most
famous murder cases to writing crime fiction. It doesn't matter that you didn't take part in the
murder. If you were at the scene at all, you're guilty of murder. Every week, the real story is revealed.
