Is this time for the Dyset.
I'll choke you, but I ain't no killer, baby.
She's 28 telling me I'm still a baby.
I get love in Detroit like Skiller, baby.
We back.
It's the Dysk DJs.
We got ourselves a hitter.
Right?
And thank God.
In 2023, we were talking about it.
We were talking about it.
We needed this.
Thank you.
We were talking about it, guys.
We're about to put together our mix that we've done for the last decade plus,
and we were like, dude.
Every year, this time of year, we say this.
Struggling.
Those of you that don't know.
All the way back to 2012, every year we do a best of the year mix and then I make a music video and it shows everything that happened in the year.
Check it out.
My channel, YouTube, at Wright Castle, going back to 2012.
They're amazing.
I feel confident saying that.
Anyways.
They get better and better too.
So always at this time of year, we look for what songs have been playing all year, right?
The last like four years at least, I always get to this point where I'm like, what has happened to hip hop, man?
It's the same shit.
I hear myself sound like an old man as I say that, but it's true.
You know what it's making me miss when I hear like the songs?
Old school Kanye, okay?
I miss Farrell.
A graduation Kanye?
Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Drake, Bruno Mars.
You know what?
All these guys had unique sounding music, clever beats, good lyrics, poetry,
like just something that like made it like stand out.
But with that said, come on.
Jack Harlow.
Yeah.
decided to bring it with this.
Jack Harlow saved us.
Literally like a week ago, I said we need this year's Young Gravy,
which was last year when we were putting a mix together.
I came up on Young Gravy's Betty,
right as we were about to put together the mix.
Like, last year we did the last week of the year.
That's just all I needed.
Just that one little banger right there that gives me something to pop
that could bring us from this part of the song to the next part of the song.
And this came out, we just discovered this this past week.
as we mentioned on the last episode
Dolly Parton performed on Thursday Thanksgiving
he performed this on Thanksgiving
put them out back-to-back
December episodes
because we're rolling the year down
so here we go and you know why
because we are
the DJs
that like to spit it
Mix it throw up back and dissect it
Hit us with the banger jack
Young J-A-C-A-K-A-K-A
Rico like suave young
and Riege speaking at A-K-A-K-A-K-A-A-K-A-
She's an alpha, but not around your boy
She'd get quiet around your boy
Hold on
Don't know what you heard or what you thought about your boy
But they lied about your boy
Going dumb and it's something idiotic about your boy
She wearing a cheater print
That's how best you won't be spotted around your boy
I'm vanilla baby
I'll choke you but I ain't no killer baby
She's 28 telling me I'm still a baby
I get love in Detroit like skiller baby
And the thing about your boy is
Castle
Yep
Do you like whips and chains?
No
No, I'm not fan of that shit.
Nobody fucking whip my ass, dude.
Don't hit me.
Not even trying to fuck with that.
Don't hit me.
I'm not an abusive sex.
It's not my shit.
Nah.
Just keep it.
Not on me.
Not on me.
I almost don't even like hitting them.
Be honest with you.
It's a little awkward for me to whip somebody.
Like, all right.
Like, might be able to do it once multiple times.
Chains too?
Like, I got you chained up.
It gets a little awkward for me.
I just done.
It's not my shit.
I've tried it.
It's not fun.
Well, he says, I don't like no whips in chains.
So don't lock me down.
I'm with him.
So I'm just in the agreeance with him.
I don't like that shit either.
Who's this other guy in the track?
I actually want to figure that out.
Because he's honestly the one who's bringing this one.
It's Slim.
Slim.
Slim who?
From 112.
Is that Slim?
No, I made that up.
The fuck.
Why do you do this to me?
It says Loving on Me, Jack Harlow, on J4 star.
Is that his album?
All right.
Well, Genius lyrics is not giving me the artist unless that's his name.
Slim, dude.
Shut up.
Is he singing that part?
I don't want no hips and chains.
I don't respect him more of he is.
We are in the bring respect Jack Harlow's name community to Justin.
Because Justin, this is the second time the Dysic DJs have covered Jack Harlow.
And last time, Justin couldn't get past the net fact that his name was Jack Harlow.
He just kept being like, I don't want to like him.
He's got a name, stupid name.
But he brought this bit.
This one's got a bang it to it too, man.
This is the kind of stuff that, like, we appreciate, though.
You make me change.
Like, when you have multiple years of, like,
like bringing another banger, bring another one.
We did, what was that first class?
That was, we did that a little over a year ago.
I like this one better.
I got to say.
It was way better.
Yeah, yeah.
It can't be able to play this.
I'm going to be able to play this for years.
This is already a five banger.
I can already feel.
Yeah, because it comes in.
It comes in quick.
I don't even know what he's rapping.
His rapids, whatever, but the hook is so tight and the beat is so good that it's just like,
go ahead, speak, speak, so we can get back to the, I don't know it's in change.
Then me down.
But you can whip your.
loving on me whip your loving on me baby whip you're loving on me yeah yeah and then he comes in
with some random rapping so he's not down he's not into whips and chains but you can whip your loving on
him that's good stuff i love that it's good call all right so then let's get into the chorus or it's not
even chorus threat i'm vanilla baby i feel like we don't need to go too much into rapping this one she 28
telling me i'm still a baby she 28 telling you still how young are you what the
all right i thought he said i'm 20 i always heard
I'm 28, but she's telling me I'm still a baby.
Because he's 20 or something like.
How young are you, dude?
That's 22.
And the thing about your boy is I don't like no whips and chains.
You can't time me down.
That's it.
That's it.
Go back to it.
Fucking goes right into it.
Young J-A-C-A-K.
Not that stuff.
Go back to the song.
That's the first one.
I know.
I don't want to hear this stuff.
He spells his name.
That's why I get back to the song.
All right.
I-S-S-I-O-N-A-R-Y.
He's sharp like Barb-W.
She stole my heart
Then she got archived
I keep it short
With a bitch Lord Farquire
All the girls in the front row
All the girls in the barricade
All the girls have been waiting all the day
Let your tongue hang out
Fuck everything
And all the guys in the back
Waiting on the next track
Cut your boy a little slack
It's young jack
I'm vanilla baby
I'll choke you but I ain't no killer baby
She 28 telling me I'm still a baby
I get love in Detroit like skiller baby
And the thing about your boy is
And we out
Gotta love that
Quick hitter, right to the point
I know you get tired of your rap verses sometimes
Your fear with this song was it was just like
Is this gonna be a bunch of like him talking about how rich he is
I don't know what he's rap to it
Because he just spells out a bunch of shit
So I can care last what he says
Because it's like oh he's spelling okay cool get back to the love
I mean baby
Young J-A-C-A-K
A-K-R-R-R-E-C-A-R-R-S-E-E-E-S-E.
Has he wanted to call him Young Enrique?
I think so.
I'm not going to do that.
I'm not going to do that.
I'm going to call you Jack, because your name is fucking Jack.
It's Jack Harlow.
You went with that.
I don't want to do it.
Tell you, Slim came in, dude.
Did a hook.
He lied about your boy going dumb.
It's something idiotic about your boy.
Yeah, okay, we don't need to actually get.
Not a lot of, it's not a deep son.
Honestly, when you lowered it from me, when he started going on that.
I don't want to hear of that.
I said it.
I said it.
I knew when he said it, he didn't say shit.
I want to know what the other thing he spelled out was, though.
That's all.
That's his name and Rico and shit.
Young missionary.
It's a weird position to spell it.
I know what he spelled out?
And then, yeah, it's literally, that's like it, man.
Super basic.
The basicness of the song, honestly, a little appreciated.
Comes in hot.
This is all hip hop needs to be.
Look, I've all, all I've been needing, dude,
the bar is so low for me with hip hop these days.
It really is.
I'll give you that.
All I need.
Have a sound.
that's original.
All those guys that I named earlier,
it's just they had original sounds that, like, were noteworthy.
You knew when you heard Snoopalk.
You knew when you heard Lil Wayne.
Jay-Z.
All the guys in a picture behind the wall on you, right there.
Snoop, Ice Cube, Biggie, Dre, Eminem.
All them had, like, a sound that you knew,
and they made songs that are going to jump out of the charts.
If we put this in the year-in-review mix, they're going to jump out.
Everybody's going to be like,
oh, yeah, that song needed to be in there because it was a...
banger and it like dominated the year and i just i'm not hearing that i haven't heard that in
a several years you know what i feel like i i personally need like i like i like the fact that it's
short and we're going we're giving that kind of it's kudos however there's certain songs that
have like that third verse oh we know we're a third verse third verse so like we got the third
verse hall of luda would have came in right yeah yeah yeah do you know i can't some said something
funny you're right or or outcast you remember an outcast in rosa parks where they had that random
instrumental that goes
it gets all
countrified on the third one
like the beat changes
it's still part of the theater
and it gets this random
like oh
that would have been cool to have
like a third beat
change the beat up
but also have a dope beat
and instrumental
and then come back to
I don't want
that some way it's not so short
and still have a dope
like remit
not remix but you know what I mean
like a third
something that third verse
we've long celebrated
the third verse Hall of Fame
it's an ongoing
thing I think if I had
to recollect the members that we have.
There was ludicrous Snoop Dog.
Remember, there was the Roddy Rich verse
that you didn't want to give in.
And I said, if I hear another Roddy Rich verse,
he'll get in there.
But, like, he's in the mix.
It's been so long that we added anybody new to it
that I don't even remember.
I always wanted to make a list,
but I never actually went back and get it.
Most songs are trying to do this two thing,
where they don't do the third verse.
It's two.
Well, considering how shitty most hip-hop songs are nowadays,
I'm okay with it.
But you're right.
This song,
If he had had, like, a featured artist, like, coming and slay it,
with how dope this beat was killing it and how, like, sick that hook comes in?
Like, I think I actually would have probably have some...
I would have appreciated a third verse just to come in.
Somebody come and slay that.
Aluda doing it one of his goofy ones would have been hilarious right there.
I just feel like he would have came in.
I mean, I honestly think it could have been an opportunity for one of these new and upcomers that, like, maybe Jack Hello.
I want a class.
I agree, but it could have actually given somebody.
Like I said, the Rottie Ridge thing, which one was that?
That was a song with the baby.
What was that?
The Rockstar?
that was where he tiptoed the line
and I was like I want to hear him do one more
great third verse and then I'll put him in the hall of him
He could have done it on this one
That would have been cool
If he just slayed that
Then I would have finally inducted him
I have a third verse
Oh yeah dude bring busts out of retirement
Where he been man
You know he still got the skills
Come on
It's fucking
Hey great song though
That's the only thing
I'm not trying to complain
But I had to come up with something
That I thought you know
And maybe it just needs this
But other than that man
This song top song
As far as I'm concerned
This is the top song of 2020.
2020.
I got to agree right now, you know?
I got to say, okay, we are still going to do it.
We're going to put together the best of 2020 mix.
I'll make the video pop.
We'll make the music work.
Yeah.
But right now I'm looking at the music that we have to work with.
And I am not excited about it, man.
We're going to do the best that we have.
I don't like it.
So I, at the moment, I'm on a big high with this song
because of the fact that we've been looking at it the last couple weeks
and we're like, shit, we don't got nothing to work with.
And this song just came out of the woods in the last week.
week. I'm just like, fuck yeah, dude.
I want to hear it again. Let's go. Let's go. That doesn't happen too often with me in music.
That's the beauty of music, though, is like the very first time you hear it.
Like when you hear a new song.
Dude, I heard it Monday. I just want to hear it again.
You're just like, you know what? Fuck it. I'm going to play it out to myself right now, but
like let's like just play it back again real fast.
Woo!
I'm vanilla baby. I'll choke you, but I ain't no killer baby.
She's 28 telling me I'm still a baby. I get love in Detroit like skill.
Baby, and the thing about your boy is
Dang, let's slap this one out.
Let me hear what you got.
Play, didn't have a hesitation.
This song had made it.
This is the top song in 23.
I'll be able to, I'm playing this for years to come,
possibly forever.
This is going on a playlist.
It's guaranteed in my set for the rest of my life.
I love this.
It's a good song, dude.
I hate Jack Carlo.
I was hating on him last time we were hanging out.
This is what I was about saying.
Watching Justin overcome his hatred for new artists,
which is like a thing that he likes to do,
especially when he's like, I don't like their name.
He needs them to earn it, right?
He got to earn his like appreciation.
If you told me two weeks ago,
like,
you know,
there's going to be a Jack Harlow song
that Justin's going to give five slabs to.
I would have been like, yes,
bringing it on it at all.
Oh, man.
There's not going to be no hesitation.
Damn near one of orgasm than the thought of that.
Saw the first time I heard it,
it was on a playlist that somebody had given me to play on Monday.
So I was playing it.
And it came on.
I was like,
I don't know.
I was like the beat he immediately hit.
And I was like, what the fuck?
What is this?
Yeah.
And then I look, I was like, Jack Holland, what is this song?
This way.
And I just listen to the whole thing.
And oh my goodness.
It's it.
It's just moves you.
It's kind of got that, yeah.
Castle, what do you get me?
It's not that hard, guys.
We are not that out here to, like, try to hate on new hip-hop.
Hip-hop is doing this to us, right?
Have a little, have that background scene that sounds like slim.
You don't got to be slim.
Do more of this.
I am.
Having that third singer, just be like.
I am dying for y'all and give me some time.
We are dying.
I'm done.
Dye.
I'm fucking beating for it.
Give me something to get us.
Oh, man.
I can't wait.
Not everybody needs to sound like Travis Scott.
Okay?
Doesn't it all be like...
I don't...
Like, I don't...
Like, I don't...
I don't need any more of that, dude.
Any more of this.
J-A-C-K-A-K-A-Riko like suave.
Young Enrique.
Speaking of A-K-A,
she's an alpha, but not around your boy.
She get quiet around your boy, hold on, don't know what you heard or what you thought about your boy, but they lied about your boy going dumb and it's something idiotic about your boy.
She's wearing cheater print.
That's how bad she won't be spotted around your boy.
I'm vanilla baby.
I'll choke you, but I ain't no killer baby.
She's 28 telling me I'm still a baby.
I get love in Detroit like skiller baby.
And the thing about your boy is...
Got it.
It's because I'm desperate.
for some 20-23 hip-up.
It wasn't that good, though? I also think this is a jam.
Here's the thing. Here's the thing. I'm always
cautious whenever we review a song
where it's like, it's my first week hearing it
because it has that little bit of like, this song
is my jam. I'm playing it all week.
When I take a shower, I listen to it. When I go
on a run, I want to listen to it. Like, because right
now it's my favorite song this week. Because
I know it's a new song. And that's the beauty
of music. When you come up on a new song, you're
excited to play. You just keep wanting to hear it.
And then that runs the risk of
like a month from now, like, they'll play it
I'm ready, be like, I'm so tired of that song, I've heard it so much.
This one ain't getting, dude.
I'm afraid of that, but I do think.
If I get a little overplayed, I might need to turn it down for a second, but it'll come back and
I know the sound.
It's got that, this is, this doesn't have, like, overplayed ability.
Because it's got a little bit of that sort of keep talking about slim.
It's kind of got a little bit of the, like, early 90s, sort of.
That, like, got a shaggy singer that wasn't shaggy.
Not say shaggy, dude.
Not shaggy, the background singer, honey.
Rick Rock, yeah, yeah.
Rick Rock, yeah.
Yeah, Rick Rockville.
It's got enough.
You had it right when you said slim, dude.
Stop bringing shaggy.
All I'm saying is that soft singer in the back.
You want that soft like, that Nate Dog.
Yeah, well, Nate Dogg's more of like a deep voice, but like, yeah, I mean, just.
Just want that smooth.
The point is, it's got a smooth, like, 90s, like, R&B singer sound to it.
That's why I wanted to know who that guy was.
If that's Jack Harlow's voice, honestly, I respect him that much more.
But thank you, Jack.
He gave us a second white man can't jump film this year.
And this song, I don't know if you ever saw that.
It was all right.
It was all right.
I definitely prefer the first one.
But I just, you know what?
The fact that he brought the Woody Harrelson character out in 23-3,
I thought he did a good job.
I thought he was fine with it.
You know, it's just like, as is the case with most remakes,
yeah, you're not better than the first one.
I just felt like there was more stakes in the first one.
I felt like there was more like heart and story to it.
But it was cool to see it like remade with Jack.
I like Jack.
He's at a big NBA dude.
And he is actually bringing.
us bangers in
2023, which I cannot tell
you how much I've been waiting for. I've been
fucking sipping
at the deep waiting for somebody to give a
song. Play it again. I can't do it.
Last time.
I don't mind no whips and chains
and you can't tie me down
but you can whip your loving on me
baby. Young M-I-S-I-O-N-A-R-Y
who's sharp like barbed-wash.
That's when he spells out of Michigan, by the way.
You probably karaoke the shit out of this.
It's probably easy karaoke.
I mean, yeah, they don't give you a whole.
a lot of lyrics that you have to work with but you know i like the fact that he actually
i will be karaoke in this this tuesday come on through back alley flurton i'm vanilla baby i'll
choke you but i ain't no killer baby she 28 telling me i'm still a baby i get love in
detroit like skiller baby and the thing about your boy is next
