Starting point is 00:00:05 This is how we do. That's sick, that, that, build it. Let's go. Let's go. This is classic from 1990 to something. 1994, right? Is that what he says? He says it in the song.
Starting point is 00:01:40 He says it later, yeah, yeah. It's 1994. This is how we do it. You guys all know it. One of the classic songs that we all get down to from 90s. When you think of a 90s jam, 90s hip hop, this song has got to come to the top five. Hang on a second.
Starting point is 00:01:53 1999. Apparently the release 8, February 6, 1995. So it was like early 95. It wasn't really good. It was a very much. This is how we do it. Montel Jordan. This is how we do it.
Starting point is 00:02:05 6.9. 6.8, he stood. No, we'll get to that point. We'll get to it. We're early. Montel Jordan, the quintessential mid-90s piece right here. And when a Jag actually asked me, he's like, we should do this is how we do it. I'm like, we've definitely already done that song.
Starting point is 00:02:20 And then I kind of looked up in our catalog and, yeah, we haven't. Kind of shocking that this hasn't come across our desk already, but let's do it. Real quick, before we do, we all have classic memories with this song. Do we not? Like, we all know when it comes in the beginning, this is how we do it. Why would you hear that? You jamming. This is how we do it.
Starting point is 00:02:42 And then one thing I've noticed is a deal. is that it's right out the gate he says this is how we do it's Friday night so if you're DJing on a Friday it's almost like you have to some at some point throw this song on just to let everybody recognize the fact that we are partying on the night of which partying is most preferred and they're here and we're here and you're playing the jam that lets them know that that's what's happening and you know what this is a jam that you're gonna want to party to You're going to want a part to it You're going to appreciate
Starting point is 00:03:13 Your grandma's going to want a party to do it Everybody wants to party to it I don't know Grandma might actually probably want to chill at home Like you might watch murder she wrote or something She might want spiral staircase or something Yeah I don't know why do you keep bringing up to us
Starting point is 00:03:24 Is that movie or a song It's a group It's a group It's an actual okay I thought it was like a song You're not going to make me play this in multiple songs Is that the same song that you wanted in the last one? I'm not doing it this time
Starting point is 00:03:38 I'm not doing it this time It's a little bit. Listen to the last thing. Give him a little bit. I'm not going to do it. We did it in the last one. You really want me to like put this on two episodes back to back? You should probably dissect Spiral Staircase.
Starting point is 00:03:50 Anyway, okay. Well, you keep pushing for it. Friday night and the parties here on the west side. So right there, I got to be honest. I've always been confused. Like I always lived in California when I heard this. So I was like, oh, we're partying over here. Does anybody on the East Coast like not like this song because of that?
Starting point is 00:04:07 He's like, oh, or this is in the west side of the city? Absolutely. Every single city anywhere you go has a west side. Has a west side. Even like, yeah, you're talking about East Coast and like I've, you know, all my families from Ohio and they refer to the East Side and the West Side of Ohio. So like you reference. So the west side of where he is.
Starting point is 00:04:27 Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. It's the west side of town. And generally, let's be honest, the West Side of town is always the best town to get down. That's where it's got on the East Coast. It's not as like fun. It's weird. No, it's not the East Coast. It's just the East Side.
Starting point is 00:04:39 That's what I'm saying. East side is going to be a lot of people that are going to want it. North, like rich, like rich tax evaders. Yeah, north. And then south, like, you want to stay away from the south. It tends to be a little bit... South feels like a little grimy. A little bit like, yeah, little bit, like, stay away from the south side.
Starting point is 00:04:53 For some reason, east seems like uppity. Very like... I mean, you know, if we're talking about L.A., I wouldn't refer to East Side as Uppity. But, like, I'm just saying in general. That's where I was going to get at. It's like there's going to be a lot of East Siders in L.A. that actually wrap the Silver Lake.
Starting point is 00:05:07 We're talking about what's at west side and east side places? Is that what we were going to? Yeah. Let's keep going with this. We don't got to talk about fucking Westline. All right. Next part, he goes, so I reach for my 40 and I turn it up. Now, this is me with partying.
Starting point is 00:05:21 I don't want a 40 when I'm partying. Why? Because it warms up. Unless you drink that motherfucker in under 10 minutes, you're going to have a, like, you're going to drink 20 ounces of your 40, maybe even 30 ounces, and you're going to have 10 ounces left
Starting point is 00:05:33 that are just warming up in your hand. You know what I mean? Like, I'm not a big 40 answer. Was never a big 40 answer? 40-ounce. Well, the appreciation of a 40 is obviously that, like, you're getting 40 ounces of beer or malt liquor, and it's going to cost you, like, under 10 bucks. So, like, you can get, like, you're more bang for your buck. And if you're ready to pound, like, you're played the Edward Scissor Hands with, like, where, you know, like, tie two 40s to your hands. I don't
Starting point is 00:06:00 know if you ever played that. Like, it's tough game. Yeah, definitely. Yeah. That's when it's worth it. But, like, yeah, yeah, no, I don't know. I get what you mean. Like if you're a sipper, if you're going to nurse that thing, like you're trying to bring it back to health from like the COVID outbreak. I just want to relax with it, but I want to chill drink. I want the ice to keep it cold. So when I take a sip, it's the same temperature each time. Beer in a 40 ounce container by the last 10 ounces tends to warm up.
Starting point is 00:06:26 And then beer is when it gets hot. Yeah. Well, anyway, next lines always tripped me out when I heard this song. Designated driver got the keys to my truck. so did he just like why isn't the designated driver bringing their own fucking ride to drive everybody
Starting point is 00:06:43 so you're telling me the designated driver decides to drive and then he's using my car in order to do it how the fuck are you miss hearing this the designated driver is got the keys to his truck so he will drive his truck home
Starting point is 00:06:57 with him the designated driver will yeah he's got a designated driver for his truck designated driver bring his own fucking car and no because then he's not driving your car back. He's driving his truck back. So you're telling me the
Starting point is 00:07:09 driver. Decided to come to the party and be like I'm not driving. Give me your keys. I'll take you. No, he came with him. He probably drove the truck to the party. That's why he's the designated driver. He took the keys to my truck. So he took him at this point. All right, so maybe Montel drove to the party, but then at that point he's like, hey, here you go. You take the keys.
Starting point is 00:07:25 You're driving me back. That's fucked up. So this guy must. This guy is there to be the designated driver yet. That's terrible. I would never. I don't know. Some people don't like drinking. So like that's that guy. But then that person Just like, what do they want to? I guarantee they want to do other things than be at a party.
Starting point is 00:07:41 Maybe not. I don't know. You're bold assuming about... They want to play chess. Maybe like... That is a terrible assumption of what, like... Okay, just because the guy doesn't like to drink, he wants to spend his Friday night playing chess?
Starting point is 00:07:53 Sudoku. Do you realize all the bad havens that are like kicking around this party right now? Throwing up the red cups. Saying, this is how the party slays. I'm kind of buzz and it's all because... See? but he else is buzzed and this guy's sitting over here like Yeah but like he doesn't drink so he's just going to like wanting to play chess
Starting point is 00:08:12 You know what? While home dude from the east side is kicking game at this one girl but he's like had too many 40s And he's not like working his game properly. He's just like oh it's okay I understand yeah exactly he comes in and he just has like some very eloquent game to like spit because he hasn't Lost any brain cells tonight due to the copious amounts of beverages that are being handed out at this backyard party Which I imagine, this is a backyard party, right? That's all I think. We got to actually address.
Starting point is 00:08:41 He never says that. Let's go back. That's always how I kind of envisioned it. It's kind of like a house backyard party. It's good luck rager. Like, it's got a good yard to like kick it in. But I always, and the reason is because I got to go back to the very beginning of the song where there's these kind of like the sound of like just people like talking, like kicking it hanging. And if you've ever done this song and Carrie,
Starting point is 00:09:06 which I'm sure you have and this is a go-to of mine it's kind of difficult unless you get that cadence of the people like chattering because it kind of comes in without and you have to hit that first you can't be laid on a this is how we do it you got to hit that right on point yeah you miss that year fuck yeah and like so you got to kind of know like when the chatter is about to hit that point and they got that one dude that's like that mad that I'm going to play it again. Like, listen for that guy. I'm going to play it right now. Listen for that dude. That's how I know. After he says it the second time, that's right when you jump in with, this is how we do. I never knew that.
Starting point is 00:09:47 Let's listen. Let's hear it. Oh. No shit. I never fucking knew. That's a good call. Now I know. Have you done this on karaoke before?
Starting point is 00:10:11 I have, but I kind of just know because of the lyrics. Sometimes I got the dots. Dots that looks in. You kind of extend it a little bit. Anyway, I make it work, but that's a much better way of approaching it. Anyway, let's keep this rolling. Hit the shore because I'm faded. What's he mean hit the shore?
Starting point is 00:10:25 Like Jersey Shore? Any shore. Go to the beach party. You're going to go to the beach party. Yeah, yeah. Hit the shore, I'm fade. Honey's in the streets. Monty, yo.
Starting point is 00:10:34 We made it. So he's talking to his boy. Monty, yo, we made it. It's not, I'm pretty sure it's money, yo, we made it. It's Monty. Oh, my God. All right. Check your lyrics.
Starting point is 00:10:44 Check your lyrics. I know you're looking at. You're not looking at genius, right? Money, yo, we made it. It's got to be money, yo, we made it. No, Monty, Because he's talking about the money. Why?
Starting point is 00:10:54 The producer that created this song. Oh, is the producer named Monty? I have no idea, but I'm an assumption of something. I'm a something. It is produced by O.G. Pierce and Montel Jordan. So I don't know who, oh, unless he's, I mean, Montel is probably short from Monty. I mean, the other way around. Talking about himself?
Starting point is 00:11:14 Monty, yeah, we made it. I was probably talking to himself. Like, yeah, Monty, we made it. Yeah, I guess. I could see you claiming that to yourself in the mirror. And me too. Castle Yo, we made it. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:11:26 It feels so good in my hood tonight. The summertime skirts and the guys in Kanai. Stop. What is that? What is that? How do they spell canai on your lyrics? K-A-N-I. Yeah, me too.
Starting point is 00:11:40 What the fuck is Kanai? It must be some type of like outfit from the 90s. I'm Googling it. Yeah. It's got to be. In summertime skirts, you know, you ladies know what to do there. What is Kenai? All about your.
Starting point is 00:11:52 Japanese can I It's a So what? It looks to be a spicy Everything is like a Ingredient? Yeah it looks it's like a So these guys are all the girls were in skirts
Starting point is 00:12:04 And the guys were eating sushi Is what you're saying It says okay Google defines it as a crab stick Oh Imitation crab meat Crabmates are used for seafood made a stretch Finally pulverized white fish
Starting point is 00:12:16 That has been shaped and cured To resemble a leg What a random What a random left turn Yeah So all the guys like He's talking about the girls Are nice skirts
Starting point is 00:12:25 All the guys are like Imitation Crabsticks Apparently Maybe it was like a brand that was popular In like 94 I don't know It's good be Yeah
Starting point is 00:12:38 And they thought it was gonna take up at her And he wanted like some like Fresh Jet Shet jeans And like that's Yeah if he would have added like Yeah Somerset skirts And my guys in Nike
Starting point is 00:12:49 Or Tommy Like Tommy Hill figure like in Tommy yeah Yeah Anyway this next line always took out to me as a kid and The power That this party has to make all the gangbangers Forgot about the drive by like the gangbangers were sitting there That's the line you gotta appreciate it honestly
Starting point is 00:13:12 And I feel it I feel that Yeah like all the gangers are sitting at home like we're gonna fucking kill these motherfuckers They want to come in me they want to fucking see me we're gonna fucking steal the money Go kill a grandmother we're gonna kill a dog I don't get. Wait, what's that song? That's a good song,
Starting point is 00:13:26 fuck it. Let's dance. I don't even fucking want to drive by anymore. Fucky, though. You gotta recognize this song came out in 95, which was right in the thick
Starting point is 00:13:36 of like east versus west side rivalry, like gang bang. It was right around the time when Tupac got murked. Biggie was about to get murked the next year. And this was a real thing that like existed on like any kind of time you go to like a party around in the way. side of like in LA which is where I'm pretty sure Montel was like kicking it around this time
Starting point is 00:13:56 and the idea that okay a lot of these motherfuckers were showing up to these parties not ready to have a good time but like almost like kind of looking for the bullshit like yo I got my strap I'm ready like somebody like look at me sideways and look at somebody who has the wrong colors and all this shit and they kind of like they're not going to have a good time so the fact that there's this like again I go back to the idea that this song makes me think of like a good house party. It's out on the west side. Everybody's like throwing the drinks up. They're all like flip up your cups and throw your hands up. It's such a good party that gang gangangers are like literally forgetting the fact that they went there to like kind of like start some bullshit and now they're
Starting point is 00:14:36 like partying. Yeah. Always a classic line. Let's finish it up with you got to get your groove on before you go get paid. Who the way where are they getting paid from? I don't know but the fact that you're grooving before you go get paid again. Putting that in front of everything else. I'm grooving first and then you're going to pay it. They're literally not worried about gangbeng. They're not getting worried about getting paid. It's all about the groove right now. So tip up your cup and throw your hands up.
Starting point is 00:15:02 Let me hear the party say, I'm kind of fun. It's all because this is how we do. It's South Central doesn't like nobody does. He's real proud of South Central. Well, most people are disappointed and disgruntled with South Central and the activities that go on there, Montel is saying,
Starting point is 00:15:35 no, no, no, nobody do parties like we do. Well, that goes to show that the people that are not in the area of which they judge don't know what it's real about. If Montel is from South Central and that's his hood, he can tell you more about South Central than anybody else that is like talking about a news report, that it's talking about hearsay, that it's talking about what this or that has described South Central as.
Starting point is 00:15:59 Montel knows exactly where the fuck It's going on in South Central And you know what? It sounds like it's got a kick and party right now And kicking it on even farther with South Central To all my neighbors, you got much flavor He loves all the people in his area Yeah, the whole neighborhood is kicking it
Starting point is 00:16:12 You guys all got a bunch of flavor You guys have nacho cheese You got ranch flavor, cool ranch Flaming Yeah, they're all partying together Chili lime That's there, that's there, that's in there A barbecue, probably missed that
Starting point is 00:16:25 Honey Barbecue I like the Honey Barbecue I like the Honey Barbecue you want to you let's like let's let's like it up next or a jalapeno i like a jalapeno can work out good but like don't like try to like force the jalapeno too much like let it glide let it glide okay then you got to appreciate this one though let's flip the track bring the old school back this is how we do it yeah so as a DJ you got to appreciate that especially in 95 where like anybody that was actually DJing like they had to like flip the entire record like they had to like switch goddamn
Starting point is 00:16:59 It's to be like, all right, let me... Oh, that's what they meant. I had no idea. I thought he was just... See, this is the problem. Using a figure of speech and shit, but... It's his problem. It's like, me and you both
Starting point is 00:17:07 were learning how to DJ at the same time, but I was learning with records and you were learning with CDs. Yeah. And your shit... Yeah, but your digital shit was more easygoing and, like, long-term inducing. Like, I had an issue with, like,
Starting point is 00:17:19 try and learn how to actually, like, flip the records. It was a very difficult... Put the skill on the actual song. It was, like, learning a very difficult instrument. And, like, I had to, like... Okay. Let me give you a quick little delve into like what I was learning how to do.
Starting point is 00:17:34 Very few do that. Okay. So first of all, you got the needle on the track. It's playing, right? My needle wasn't even that strong on my tables, right? So that was an issue because it was hard to find the actual spot where you want to like start it. But while that other one's playing, you got to listen to the other side. Drop the needle at the right place.
Starting point is 00:17:52 Figure that shit out. First of all, you had to find the record that I was actually a matching BPM, which they didn't have. have laptops at the time that you could like figure that out. So you had to figure that out in your head and be like, that's about a 100 BPM. Do I have another song in my crates that matches that? You had to come up with it yourself while like digging through them. Like, okay, this one's work.
Starting point is 00:18:12 Put it down. Get the needle in the right spot, which again is that was always for some reason the hardest thing for me because like my needle was not that sharp. So it was hard to get it in the right place. Then you got to be able to get it on the right speed and get it to mix in the right place. and just throw it in there, slow it down, slow it down, slow it down.
Starting point is 00:18:30 Throw it, throw it right there. Nope, missed it. Yeah, do it again. Spin, spin it back, spin it back, spin it back. Yeah, I know. I know, I know. The point is, then you do that, you finally get it. Oh, there you go.
Starting point is 00:18:40 Now it can work. Mix the music over. Boom. There it is. Switch to the other song. Guess what? That was just one mix. Now you got to do the whole goddamn thing again.
Starting point is 00:18:48 That's DJing in the 90s. So anybody that was DJing in the 90s, flip the track through the old school back. I'd much appreciate. So that's the, the kind of thing that makes me think of. So respect to Montel and whoever the fuck his DJ was, maybe his DJ was Monty. He didn't give his DJ a shoutout like most of the DJ a shout out.
Starting point is 00:19:07 This is how we do it. All hands are in the air and wait. Shout out to DJ player. See, he could have done it right there. We're giving you a spot Montel where you could have. If you're an OG Mac or I want to be player, he's giving credit to the real dudes and the guys that are fake as fucking want to be real dudes. The point is the part.
Starting point is 00:19:27 Everybody's still working. Everybody's party. So like, give a good, props to everybody. So let's like, let's throw it back into the party, all right? Montel, let the party back. This is how we do it. All hands are in the air. And wait from from here to they.
Starting point is 00:19:41 If you're an OG Mac or I want to be player, you see, the hood's been good to me ever since I was a lowercase g, but now I'm a big cheat. The girls see I got your money, $100 bill, joy. You see, the hood's been good to me ever since I was a lowercase g, but now I, I'm big G. The girl, see, I got the money. $100 bills, y'all. Okay, wait a minute.
Starting point is 00:20:03 I want to hear him sing this before we continue, but I've always been confused. He was a lowercase G. Like, he was basically a G that goes under the line, and then he became a big G. Yeah, he was a kid when he was a kid. But why a lowercase G? I think that's dope, actually.
Starting point is 00:20:21 I love the way he words that. Because he wasn't a grown G yet, you know? He was just like a little... Uppercase G. He says it wasn't. Because it wasn't a big G yet. He was like, but he said to say that was just, Justin. Was there not a time when you were like 12 years old and you were like seeing like real like the adults like partying?
Starting point is 00:20:38 Not even adults, but like that senior high schools like kids like partying and you were like 12, 11 or 13. No, I got all that. That was when it was a lowercase G. I'm just mad that he goes lowercase G and then instead of saying uppercase G, he goes with big G. Because it's not an uppercase G is a big G. I see it. I get you. I hear it.
Starting point is 00:20:57 you, Montel. I know where you're going with it. You guys are both over-sique. Please excuse my co-host here who can't figure out like what swag really is. And then he's getting happy that the girl see he has the money, $100 bills. Like, oh, you're happy that you're hanging out with a bunch of fucking gold diggers that are just going to be around you because you got money?
Starting point is 00:21:13 Awesome. Awesome. Enjoy that. Does that mean that you're literally just like pulling out $100 bills? Like dancing with them like, yo, y'all see this? Yeah, but that could be two. You'll see this. He did plural bills. Like he could be literally two. I'm saying, like, but like, The point is they know he's got the money
Starting point is 00:21:29 because he's literally like pulling it out like hey hey I got money I got money which girls are ready to gold dig for this bullshit but before we get to you
Starting point is 00:21:41 let's let's let's get back in the track talk about the G and let's say it right out because we get this track hits so good let's see here here we go the girls think I got the money hundred dollar bills y'all
Starting point is 00:21:51 as many times as I've heard it and had to play it it still was a great song dude there's something about this But real quick lyric that I didn't realize I didn't know. What the fuck is YNV SCC? You know what? I don't really know, man.
Starting point is 00:23:09 That's another one of those lyrics that I've actually always just said. I'm going to SCC might be South Central California. That's my only guess there. Okay, but YNV, okay, your neighborhood. Young Nevada, no. Young. Youthful Norwegian. Vehicle, no.
Starting point is 00:23:29 Youthful native veterinarians. I think that's where it is. I think that's it. Let's let it know that. That makes sense too, because I want to party with those, those types. That makes sense.
Starting point is 00:23:43 All right, but before we get, before we get to that point, though. I wish we could figure that out. I'll try to figure it out as I Google, but go ahead. Tell us. Okay, after he says, tip up your cup and throw your hands up,
Starting point is 00:23:54 which is a beautiful way, to make the parties say, hey, they go, I'm kind of buzz and it's all because this is how we do it, which is truthful and appreciated. This is how we do it, all right? This is why we're buzzed, and it's all because. South Central does it like nobody does, which again, if my man's from South Central, a lot of y'all got ideas of how South Central does it, but like let Montel tell you, this is how Central does.
Starting point is 00:24:27 To all my neighbors that got much flavor, this is how we do it. Let's flip the track, bring the old school back. Again, this is still how we do it. It's still kind of buzz, and it's all because, and it's still because South Central does it like nobody does. Then we get to YNV-S-C-C. Have you looked it up? Tell me you're looking it up at this point.
Starting point is 00:24:50 Yeah, I got Y-N... They don't have Y-N-V though. I knew it. You have Y-N-W. That doesn't make sense. Which, according to Urban Dictionary is the Young Nigger Way, which, you know. That's a different. You from YNW?
Starting point is 00:25:07 It's a different letter all together, so. I don't know. You heard YN. Melly new song? Hell yeah. No, I'm going to be jamming that on the regular, young nigger world on everything. I was wild and freed in his ass. Urban Diction is because I was. Urban dictioners are always a trip and a half.
Starting point is 00:25:28 I honestly don't think this is something that urban district can help us with. I'd like to think, honestly, and like being a content creator myself over years, whether I write something, make a video or whatever it is, come up with my own song. When I get an opportunity to slide a little bit of like, this is a nugget for me that only I get, but it's like a shout out to like my like this or that, like I get that. So I assume that that's what that is. Montel, maybe he's got a little crew in South Central that calls themselves YNV, and, like, they all know exactly what he's talking about.
Starting point is 00:26:05 And meanwhile, they got Urban Dictionary out here trying to figure what the fuck that is. But it's, you know? If you know what YMV, SEC, can you please go to our Instagram at Dasag DJs, DM us, let us know so we don't feel like such morals? Give us a heads up. Because right now I have it as. Young. What was it?
Starting point is 00:26:25 Don't say it again. What was your veterinarian? And then. Oh, young native veterinarians. So, yeah. So veterinarians that are in the area that are apparently between 20 and 30. Like that's where that. That's what the, and then SEC.
Starting point is 00:26:40 Which honestly, that's a hard working crew. They deserve to get shout out. They hustled. They appreciate that. I'll never come whack on an old school track. I love that, though. He's letting y'all know. I always thought it said,
Starting point is 00:26:53 I never come back on an old school track. No. Did you always think that or you always thought I said whack? Really? I just thought he would never like Montel as a person later in life would never come back and be like, yo, I told you. And I, and in thinking that and hearing this song, I was like, he was right. Because he never came back.
Starting point is 00:27:14 He never said. He never did an old school track. In which case he never did either. He never came whack and an old cool. But I appreciate that too because he keeps letting y'all know like if I bring back and honestly with all the times we've discussed bringing back old school tracks and like remixing them i feel like you of all people should appreciate this because you love to hate on people that come whack on an old school track yeah and he's telling you like right now hey if i work on an old
Starting point is 00:27:39 school track i'm not going to come whack with it and maybe that's why he never came back with it because he never like came up he's like i have this song that i could come with but it's going to be a little wax i'm not going to come with it and he just never did it he just left it let it Well, let's let's let's let this next part Rap comes in, I believe it's Who is it that wraps here? It's Montel, I thought. I'm pretty sure Montel
Starting point is 00:28:02 He wraps this too? All right, well Montel comes up with a smooth route. He says in 6'8, he stood And he also wraps and he sings about it. So he gives a little story, let's let him say it. Tell us a story and let me let the song write out And then we'll conclude this fucking fantastic song.
Starting point is 00:28:25 and all they said was six eight he stood and people thought the music that he made was good the DJ and paul was his name he came up to money this is what he said do an old are gonna make some cash selling million records and we're making the dash oh I'm buzzing for clubs it's bouncing two times like nobody does and that that is how we do it ladies and gentlemen. Whether we're coming from the west side, whether we're coming from the northeast side, whether we're coming from just around the corner of the canyon,
Starting point is 00:29:46 or there's that little lake where you feel like some sketchy shit probably goes down, but it's like, you know, a cool spot to take some selfies during the day. But ultimately when you get to it, you're like, I feel like there's some angry fishermen that hang around that place way too much. And they kind of leave a negative image around that spot, because like it would be pretty but like they got a bunch of fucking fishing poles that are always just like hanging around there and uh they never seem to leave and it just feels like yeah i think i started going that way yeah but i don't know the idea is there's a area that you think is a cool spot but it feels like it gets a little sketchy at a certain point you know okay yeah i don't know and what did that have to do with i forget what was the last thing you just said i forget where i started the sentence I don't know, but I was trying to get, I was through the lyrics.
Starting point is 00:30:37 I know, that's a problem. Usually I can catch back with you, like, okay, he's talking about this, but then you were just talking about, you were, like, not paying attention. Anyways, dude, you were talking about the fact that the pier sucks because people... No, I wasn't talking about the peer. No, no, I just started talking about the last part when he said, like, straight up coming from the west side and, like everything about there. It's, like, you know, there's...
Starting point is 00:31:03 I feel like we went off the rails here recently. I definitely did It's just what the song brings out in you Like okay here's the good thing about this track Is it like it Whatever you are and wherever you is And wherever you is You have a certain like feel that this thing brings to you
Starting point is 00:31:22 So whether your neighborhood is on the east side of town Or it's like in West Kentucky Or up in the mountains in Wyoming Or whether you're like down in the hood in L.A. Like there might be an element of this song that kind of reminds you of what feels most comfortable to you. And you know what? This is where the party's at.
Starting point is 00:31:42 And when you hear this song, whoever it is that you're around and you know this is how you do it, you all are like, this is how we do it. That's what you got to appreciate you about this. It really works in any atmosphere. Real quick, I just want to go over his last line. Check it out. Once upon a time in 94.
Starting point is 00:32:02 That's what we both thought it was 94, not 95. real quick. Montel made no money and last year was slow. So in 94, Montel wasn't making any money. He came up with this track in 95 and started making money. So that's amazing 12-month turnaround. You got to give him credit. And all they said was 6-8 he stood. What a tall basketball player-esque individual.
Starting point is 00:32:22 You think he plays ball? Do you think Montel? I mean, yeah. If now he's one of those weird dudes, like, you're just tall. But if you're a 6-8 motherfucker out of South Central, like, you better know how to fucking ball. What the fuck? You're awkward as fucking being a baller.
Starting point is 00:32:36 So, yeah, that. I understand that, though. Because, yeah, that's the thing. It's like he was coming in a rap and they're like, I think you came into the wrong office right now. But you're 6-8, sir. The Clippers offices around the corner. They need a rebound.
Starting point is 00:32:48 Yeah. He needs somebody to hustle on the boards and, like, push the fast break. So, like, if you can get that going, that's what you look like. But I guess you can rap if you're good. Yeah, let's hear you rap. The people thought the music that he made was good. They lived a DJ, and Paul was his name. By the way, we found out the DJ's name.
Starting point is 00:33:04 We asked earlier, like, we don't know what was DJ. The DJ name was Paul. Very good. He gave a shout at him. Paul was his name. He came up to Monty. This is what he said. Oh, that again points out that Moni was him when he said Moni earlier, you know.
Starting point is 00:33:17 So Paul came up to Monty, yeah, yeah. And this is what he said. You and OG are going to make some cash. Selling me a record. We're making a dash. Which is my favorite part when I do the song in karaoke because you do the dash. Yeah, you start running. You run just a little.
Starting point is 00:33:31 Yeah. Yeah. Oh, my baby. Oh, happy vibes with this song. It's very happy vibes. That's the thing. Even the gangbangers forgot about the drive-by. Like, anybody that is anywhere, anywhere you're at,
Starting point is 00:33:46 you don't need to be in the hood in South Central. You could literally be anywhere with your crew with the people that make you feel good. And if you're having a good time, this is how we do it. It's not trying to make too grand of a statement that you can't relate to. Like, this is how we do it. And whatever it is that you're doing,
Starting point is 00:34:03 when you're parting, you're having a good time, and you look around, you're like, yeah, this is how we do it. And whatever you're looking at, guess what? That's how you do it. I agree. Slap it out.
Starting point is 00:34:19 Slap it out. What do you got? Gotta go five. Come on. This is, if I don't give this one five, then, like, you know, y'all can shut me down. This is just credibility shot.
Starting point is 00:34:37 Credibility shot immediately. This is just the song that we all came up, anywhere that came up in the 90s, such as us. We just got so much appreciation for it. And all the things that I just brought it up with, no more need said what you got. Quick five, easily done. Quick five, slap up.
Starting point is 00:34:54 You can play this in most parties, most people are going to enjoy it. And it's just a classic. Everything we talked about, everything, the party in South Central going crazy to the point where, as we said it a couple times, gangmakers forgot about the drive-by. And what more can you say?
Starting point is 00:35:10 That line in and of itself. And also it's one of those songs that like even the people that aren't a generally appreciated of like hip hop or like R&B or nothing like they could get behind this one. You know, like you could play this at a country wedding where like everybody like wants to kind of like hear something like country stuff. They probably have a line dance for it already. Yeah, they probably have a line dance. Exactly. Like it's just one of those songs that just kind of works across the board. You can't hate it.
Starting point is 00:35:35 And you know why? Because it's just such positive vibes. This is how we do it. How are you going to combat that, motherfucker? How are you going to try to say like, well, you're trying to tell me how this is how we do. I was like, I don't know, what are you doing right now? Well, I'm line stepping, I'm eating a little turkey sandwich,
Starting point is 00:35:51 and I'm drinking some gin. I was like, that's how you do it. That's what all the young, young veterinarians are doing nowadays. Y and V, SCCC, this is how we do it. Next!
