It's the dot, dot, dot, d'i-s.
All right, we got a special request.
Ain't nobody going to end around my game.
Ever since you've been hanging around.
All right.
Welcome back to another edition of the Dicect D.Js.
And we got a special request tonight, and it is a little jam called Faded by Soul Decision.
Oh, I can relate.
Fated or Soul Decision?
Mostly the faded part, right?
Yeah.
By looking at you.
Shout out to my boy Timon for bringing this one on.
Yo, just want to give a shout to the Dysk DJs.
Love y'all.
You boys are beasts.
For real.
Like, if it wasn't for you guys, I wouldn't be alive.
Who are you talking to?
The DECDJs.
That's us.
Okay, this man telling him, when I get you all alone, I'm going to get,
this is one of those things where the lyrics actually are different
than what you've always said, you know?
Yeah, yeah.
It's like, I'll do.
I'm going to move in.
Nice and close.
Ain't nobody gonna interrupt my game?
No, no.
No, no.
So, you can relate to that right there.
When you see the home girl that you want to start a little something, you know, talking to,
nobody's going to interrupt your game, right?
You got to move in a nice thing.
It can be.
It can actually be interrupted quite easily.
It can be, yeah.
There's so many factors that go involved.
It depends.
Where are we at?
It's a bold statement to say nobody's going to interrupt my game.
I know, but like...
You know, honestly, she has a friend, and she came third wheel.
Oh, yeah.
She's going to interrupt that shit real fast.
She has an ex-boyfriend at this party, and he's still quite jealous.
The moment you start talking, she's going to interrupt this party.
There's a lot of things.
The idea, I think, is you're coming in with the idea that nobody's going to interrupt your game,
which is a good idea to come in with because if you're ready to not be distracted, chances
are you won't be distracted, even if something that pops up is you're like, no, no, no.
Hey, I know a birthday clown just popped out of a little present box over here, but like,
nothing going to run to wrap my game.
No, no, no.
Ever since I've been hanging around, I've been trying to figure out what I'm going to say to you to get some play.
Hey.
Wait, repeat that real quick.
Just read it.
Ever since I've been hanging around, I've been trying to figure out what I'm going to say to you to get some play.
How long has he known?
Is this a day or two?
That's debatable.
Maybe it better be a day or two, because if this is longer than a day or two,
and he's been thinking about this, he's been thinking about it entire too long.
This guy's putting way too much effort, just, you know me in this, man.
You've been thinking about what you're going to say.
Figure it out and say it, my man, because the longer you think,
the longer you're going to get cold favor, and be honest with you,
Reggie right around the corner is slamming already,
because he said the right things three days ago.
Sometimes.
This is a girl that, like, you've actually known for a while, and you're like, you know what?
I don't know exactly what it is I need to say, but there's something.
I know there's something, and I'm going to figure it out.
I feel like this is a level that we all can kind of relate to a little bit.
He's trying to figure out.
Every night when we say goodbye, how can I help looking in your eyes?
When I'm a while, you and I have it.
Can we get it?
Now, he might be a little bit more.
progressive than you might be saying outwardly to those you're thinking.
But like, I think a lot of people have been in that situation where they're trying to
feel like, all right, me and you have kind of been a friendship situation for a while.
But at the same time, we kind of look at each other a certain way.
And we're just kind of like, there's got to be a way that you and I can figure out how we can get.
Just go talk.
Yeah.
Well, all right.
It's pretty simple.
Like, I don't understand.
Like, yeah.
This guy's very, like, he thinks about things way too long, okay?
He's been thinking about it since they met.
Now he wants to.
Dude, you like the girl.
Yeah, what's good?
Was good, though.
And she says, no, you're moving longer.
She says, yes.
Guess what?
You know what's up.
I feel like you're too faded yourself to actually do the song and fade it, dude.
Like Sharp Johnson would have way more interaction on this.
So, whatever I should just pause the whole day.
Should I keep you go?
Just cancel it.
Yeah.
I just feel like you too fucked up to do this.
I was funny, dude.
I thought the last one.
It's funny, but like, I feel like we can do better on this song.
That's all.
All right, and we are back.
Sorry about that, everybody.
We probably overextended ourselves.
While breaking down faded by sole decision,
we maybe took it too literally and got a little too faded.
So, we decided to hit the pause button, but we are back.
We're back.
I'm back.
I feel better.
after about 12 hours of recording
the last time we were podcasting
I was a little bit
faded while recording faded and I
needed to take a break
It was the tail end
It was the end
We tried to push the last
We even looked at each other before we did that way
Should we try faded while faded?
Do you get one more in you?
Should we try faded while faded?
We were like yes
And here's the thing
You know it's the one more time rule
When we look at each other and say
You got one more in it
We're already in so
It's a bad deal
It's bad news and gentlemen
We are ready
I'm ready
I got the energy back
I got my mojo
We are ready to continue
Through this faded song
So thank you for waiting two months
Or four seconds
Or whatever it is
It makes no difference to you
But yeah let's continue this song
Fated by song
By the way I don't even remember the whole first part
That we listen to
And doesn't matter
Because we're going to listen to the rest of this
But you know what
We got some dissecting to do
Disseckedes
It's all right
Talk about me
Back in my world tonight
I can't pretend
And you know I want me
This man wants to be alone with this girl
Again
He knows she's got it
He's not very direct
And he wants it
He says girl you know you got it
And you know I want it
How much more direct do you need
I can't wait to get you home
No
Let's go home
You see to the difference castle
I can't wait to get
Let's go home
What if they've only been out for like 15 minutes
Let's go home
What the fuck did you even go out for?
Why did we go out?
I agree
Because she needed to go out.
If you were going to tell her, let's go out for 15 minutes.
So then I'm going to take you home.
She would have been like, all right, fuck that.
Figure out something else to do.
He knows what he's doing?
He's working his game.
And what's the second part he says there?
I don't want to be rooted up.
I just want to be where you go.
So he's trying to just play.
So he doesn't make me rude, but he wants to be a creeper.
Oh, he's not being a creeper.
He's just trying to do what she wants to do.
What do you want to do, girl?
That's what I want to do.
All right.
I'm just being a hater.
This guy's just trying to get something.
Working it.
Work it, man.
Work it.
And he says, think what we could do alone, which is definitely a line that very much depends on where you're at with a girl.
Very thin line between what's creepy and what's acceptable.
Or not even creepy.
Just like, what if she's just like has no idea we're talking about?
She's like, we can, would you want to?
We can play boggle.
Yeah.
I guess Monopoly sounds like a good idea.
Monopoly never sounds like a good idea.
If anybody brings out Monopoly, I'm like, I'm out.
I got to go to bad, actually.
So I bring it out because you get frustrated a little bit out.
And you know who's going to win
Like two hours before the game ends
Like oh the guy with all the property
Do you think somebody's making a comeback on that?
No, but then it always sucks
And you're playing with somebody like no, we'll play to the end
Yeah
Of course you want to play to the end
James because you have half the property
Of the game right now
Fuck you
Castle back to the yeah
All right let's get back to fade it
Yeah
Yeah
Maybe you can not be
Well break
Don't you think it's time
We're gonna be first
I ever hit it
See what I mean?
He's not direct.
He's looking at her eyes like, so are we going to do it?
And she's just like, good night.
Like, he's just like, I'm wondering why we haven't done it.
My man, because you're not speaking up or doing the right moves, sir.
This is one of those rare songs that speaks to reality.
There's so many songs where these guys have these days and weeks to write these lyrics.
That's like, this is exactly what I would say at the time.
And everybody's all a perfect smooth dad in their songs because they're like, yeah, this is how I live.
I go up to the girl and I gave her this person.
perfect line and then she comes back with me and it's like this is more realistic it's like
especially if you're hanging out with a girl who you've been friends with for a while and you're
both kind of like I kind of feel like crossing that line I don't know and you're looking at each other
you're kind of like I don't know what's up you know I guess it makes it weird if you speak up at the
wrong time for the no man speak up now way at least you tried and you could stop making a stupid
amazing song which has a fantastic dance beat I'll give you that but it's a stupid song so far to
me this man is not direct enough
he should be like we gonna get it
tonight you're gonna want me
way easier to sit on the sideline
and be like bro just go after it but
you know what I mean? You know
exactly this is I feel
I feel sole decisions realism here
this is a very relatable point
I'm well I say speaking up
he said can we get it on
that's being forward
alright I'm trying to be it I'm just be hating
you know me you know me Castle
you guys know me
dissect DJ listeners.
I'm just hating this man trying to get something.
It's always trying to.
All right, let that beat keep running.
Come on, man.
When we first met, yo, that deal was stated.
You stepped like my steed, the way we conversated.
Whoa, when they first met.
Yo, that deal was stated.
Step like my steed, the way we conversated.
What's the next part?
Oh, here we go.
Okay.
All right, repeat.
When we first met, yo, the deal was faded.
You spent like my dees the way we compensated.
I actually thought he said the deal with state.
do the deal was faded when they first met because they wasn't this clear point it's like are we
kind of friends or are we like there a little thing happening here which again i feel like it's
something we could all relate to the song is not about them getting faded it's about the
the lines of them of the relationship that they are having as a friendship is faded because he wants
more and she that's right but double entendre jason i can't even spell that castle yeah it's the
Hardware of spell.
It actually is really hard word of spell.
I'm not going to try to do it right now.
So the deal was faded because they didn't know exactly what the lines were.
You spent like my D's the way we compensated.
Not even sure what that means.
Not going to lie, but I love how it sounds.
What does he finish up with the wrap there? What's the final lyrics of that?
The rap is a little bit all over the place.
It's just there because it works.
It gave the song some hip-hop credibility,
which I think was good for it.
It helped in that area.
But he said, with me up close,
so everything okay, because I don't like the...
I don't even hear him.
You're right.
You explained it actually perfectly
with the way you described it out of the gate.
With that, I was hating initially,
because he wasn't being indirect,
but because he was friends with her,
it's always a weird decision
to try to make that conversation
because you don't want the friendship to end.
So it's a faded relationship
as far as he wants more, she's not sure,
he doesn't know how to express it,
and he decided to do that
through a fantastic dance beat like this.
Is that a good assumption?
That's exactly what it is.
Conclusion?
Yeah, and you know what?
Again, I think it's a modern-day realistic romance song
because so many times these Latharios come in on their white horse
because they took months to write a song,
or even days, it doesn't even take a long time.
But the fact is you have time to think about what you'd say,
and then they make themselves this prints in the music video that's just like,
look at how perfect damn at everything.
And it's like, this is more actually how shit actually plays out most of the time.
So, you know what?
Can I be honest, Castle?
I'm very happy that we stopped.
We unfaded?
Being fated to listen to the song because I would have never came to the realization.
And I would have continued to just hate on this guy for not speaking up.
Yeah.
But although I'm still a little bit, come on, man, if you want it.
He wants to be aided.
I'm going to hate back and pull back and say, you know what?
get it.
This is why.
It's a friendship.
You don't want to ruin the friendship.
You love her, so you don't want to lose her from your life, but you want to actually take
it there and drill, but you don't know how to say it.
You said it in this song.
So you know what?
Soul decision, if that is your name, Mr.
Soul?
Yeah.
Mr.
Decision.
It's a single man.
First name,
last name decision.
Okay.
Mr.
Decision, great decision to do it through a song.
Now, if you played this for her and we're like, look, I made this song for you, and
played it for her, and then she's listening to it, and then she looked at you three
minutes later and was like, oh.
I think perfect way to introduce yourself.
It was.
And you know what?
As a friend that you want more.
Yeah.
It's about basically trying to like sort of.
It's basically a song about trying to bust out of the friend zone.
And you know what?
If your attempt was to make the song and she looked at you and was like,
what is what is this?
It's like, you know what?
That girl was never worth it in the first place.
And if you had actually tried to make a move on it,
probably would have been a lot more awkward than this shit.
So, you know what?
All props to you, Mr. Decision.
Way to make them.
Ang.
Castle, you're not letting me.
thank you for stopping the song last time
because good job because I was
a little too much. That's exactly what.
And I'm glad we came back and we're able to
revamp, come back with some energy,
realize exactly what the song is talking about
and give it the exact rating it
deserves, which for me is A
because it explains a lot.
It gives a lot. I've never heard it
but I want to dance every time I hear it because
you got the way to make me move.
I want to be a big to be
do.
I'll get down to that song pretty much every time I hear it to be honestly.
So with me, you got four claps and a bunch of snaps.
What is your rating castle?
That one's easy as fuck.
We got a five clapo.
This is why I'm so glad that we can actually have this disheck DJ platform
because this has been my jam for years now.
It's kind of been my like underground jam.
It was popular for a minute.
I think I remember seeing out on like TRL or whatever back from now in the day.
They got up to like six.
The thing with the band is the band, when you look to the band,
the front guy, he kind of had like a little bit of a boy band presence look.
So I think they kind of got pigeonholed as such.
And I didn't know that much about the band other than this.
They had one more great song called Ooh, I Think It's Crazy.
Another great one, Equion playing with this one.
But yeah, this one's just been my low-key jam for years.
And now I can finally give it some shine.
What was the name of that last one?
Ooh, I think it's crazy.
That's another one.
Sounds like it might be Soul Decision Week.
Dude, is it Soul Decision Week?
I am gang.
He's in.
Let's go.
Let's set them right out real quick.
Oh, Castle, thank you for introducing me to this song, man.
This is actually going to be on my playlist now.
And so is the artist Soul Decision.
Because it is Soul Decision Week.
And this is the first time I've heard of them.
And I can't wait for the week to continue so I can hear whatever song you already just told me.
It's another good one from this group because they killed it with this one.
So thank you for introducing me.
to this. And I have to give an additional
thank you to my man. The T-monster out there.
Timmo, shout out. He was
the only other guy who I've come across ever
who we low-key realized, hey,
you a sole decision guy?
Fuck yeah. I didn't know what that existed.
Hey, T-Mont, I got to meet you because
guess what? I just became a sole
decision guy. He knows what's up.
The club is expected of a three. I'm a sole decision
guy!
Next!
