Starting point is 00:00:02 Dot, dot, dot, dot, blah, my, my, dyset, DJ! Oh, what's going on, everybody? Dasek DJ, did, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do you. Deges. That's right, DJ, M.C. Jagg, I know my boy, DJ, Steezy. What up, Doug? This castle. We're taking a trip down, memory laid back to, I don't even know what decade this is.
Starting point is 00:00:31 Is the 80s, 70s? Do you have a night? You know what? I'll forget it out right now. We don't know, shit. You know how we do, guys. We roll off the top. I think you call it those.
Starting point is 00:00:40 79. Okay, so I was right in the middle there. What genre would you refer to this as? This is like some... You know, they have it as rock. I'll go country rock. Yeah, it's kind of like that hillbally-skin. Country pop rock is what I would say it is.
Starting point is 00:00:56 It's the devil went down to Georgia by the Charlie Daniels band, am I right? And Charlie Daniels obviously was a lead singer who recently passed, ladies and gentlemen. So we're giving a shout out to Charlie Daniels along with... one of the people that taught me how to DJ Mr. Mike Carroll of C-squared entertainment. He wanted me. He was like he's one of the few that listened to our episodes and said, can you guys please do Charlie Daniels since this man passed and give him some recognition for the devil went down to Georgia and we were like, okay,
Starting point is 00:01:27 took us a little bit of time to get there, but we are here and we want to find out exactly why. Why did the devil go down to Georgia? So we only got a few people that listen to our episodes? Is that what you say? No, but if you request us something, We'll do our best to get it on for you. And this is one of the people that... We're always listening to requests.
Starting point is 00:01:45 And if you've got a request of your own, go ahead and hit us up on Instagram at DysickDJs or dissectedjays at gmail.com. Either one works. We're there. And we're always happy to hear what jam you want to hear and why you want to hear it. So go ahead and toss that our way. And yeah, so this is a request that we got. The devil went down to Georgia. And great question.
Starting point is 00:02:10 Why was the devil going down in Georgia? What did he find about the state of Georgia? Talk to me, Charlie. The devil went down to Georgia. He was looking for a soul to steal. He was in a bind because he was way behind and he was willing to make a deal. When he came across this young man
Starting point is 00:02:25 sawing on a fiddle and playing it hot and the devil jumped up on a hickrish dump and said, boy, let me tell you what. I guess you didn't know it, but I'm a fiddle player too. And if you'd care to take a dare, I'll make a bet with you. Now, you play pretty good fiddle boy, but give the devil as due.
Starting point is 00:02:41 I bet a fiddle of gold against your soul because I think I'm bettered you. The boy said, my name's Johnny, and it might be a sin, but I'll take your bet you're going to regret because I'm the best as ever been. All right, so if I take this correctly, devil went to Georgia, looking for somebody a soul to steal. He was way behind in getting the souls that he needed, which I don't understand why the devil was so behind, but they never explained that.
Starting point is 00:03:06 The way they explained it. What? It might be kind of like a police officer. who has a quoted meet. Yeah, that's what I'm saying. I haven't really been handing out. I just don't understand how the devil would get behind him. Like, who's his master?
Starting point is 00:03:16 Who's his boss? Exactly. That's why I'm like, okay, I guess he was behind. Maybe it's like a self-quote he said. It's like, hey, devil. I was supposed to put 500 people in. I'm like 220 right now. Fuck, man.
Starting point is 00:03:26 You haven't going to get enough of souls this week. So, like, let's go have yourself a good day. Like, he set himself out, talked himself in the mirror, and he's like, we're going to get some souls today. I'm going to get at least 28 souls by noon. And at a lot of nowhere during. During noon, he runs up on a young man Saw on his fiddle and playing it hot.
Starting point is 00:03:45 The devil jumped on a hickory stump and said, boy, let me tell you what. I bet you didn't know, but he's a fiddle of player too. By the way, this guy that's just playing the fiddle sitting on a stump, he's just getting here, right? The devil just shows up. Whoa, whoa, whoa. And he just comes in like mid-conversation.
Starting point is 00:04:01 And the devil's like, I bet you didn't know this. I play a fiddle too. And the dude's like, what the fuck? What are you doing here? Like, what? I was just, bro. breaking it down right now. Am I dying?
Starting point is 00:04:11 Am I dying? Are you taking my soul? Like, what the fuck is going on? Yeah, can you imagine it happening? Like, you're playing the fiddle like playing it hot too? He said it. Yeah, he was getting after. And I know where a devil just comes up.
Starting point is 00:04:22 I play it too. Was I playing this too hot? Was my fiddle playing too hot? So the devil comes out and playing. I'm a fiddle player too. And if he dared, take a dare, I'd make a bet with you. So I know where he decides to bet this kid that's playing the fiddle. What does the kid have to get?
Starting point is 00:04:38 a gain from that. I play a pretty good fiddle, but give the devil his due. I'd be like, I'm good dude, I don't really, I feel like if I lose a bet with the devil, I'd probably like going to hell. So why would I want to bet you? I'm good. I'm just going to play. And I don't know if you noticed this, but I was slaying this fiddle right now, so I'm just going to, I'm going to keep playing over here. That's cool. Could you walk away?
Starting point is 00:04:59 But that is not what Johnny did, because the moment this man bet a fiddle of gold against his soul, he thinks he's better than him. Johnny was like Fuck that My name is Johnny And it might be a sin But I'll take your bet
Starting point is 00:05:12 You're gonna regret Because I'm the best It's ever being That's a cocky motherfucker Like let's be honest You're playing the fiddle You're sitting on stuff You're playing that shit
Starting point is 00:05:19 Like devil pops up He's like yo I'm better than you And he's like Wait Are you serious And he makes a bet That basically I gotta imagine Is like with his soul alive
Starting point is 00:05:29 And like I did I miss it Or did he give him Something that Johnny would actually win Or did he basically A fiddle of gold. A fiddle of gold. So basically a full-on fiddle like a rich, a rich fucking fiddle.
Starting point is 00:05:42 Yeah, but no one is going to give you money for that. That's the kind of thing that, like, they'll tell you. Yeah, but like who actually, the only people that pay money for gold, those dudes that you see on the sidewalk sometimes holding a sign, like we'll pay for gold. And they're going to fucking short-change. Yeah. They're going to shortchange you. Like, look, gold doesn't still work.
Starting point is 00:06:01 It doesn't play nowadays, man. Like, they are not going to. Nobody's going to give you the money. Yeah, nobody's going to give you the money you're worth. Only people that are looking to pay money for gold are trying to shortchange the fuck out of you. This guy's going to smelt down this gold fiddle, and he's going to get like $48.39 for it. And he's putting his soul on the line just because he's like, I'm a hot fiddle player. He's good.
Starting point is 00:06:22 He must be good. Like, to be like, I'm telling you. You may not respect his cockiness. I don't know where a devil hits you up. It's like, I bet I'm better than you. He's like, no, you're not, bro. Let's go. Let's go then.
Starting point is 00:06:32 And then he breaks it down. From this point all, you're going to hit him. Blam, baby. He just gets it. I mean, there's some hot fiddle playing in the sun. Let's hear Johnny get down. Johnny, bring it, baby! Johnny, arisen up your bow and play your fiddle hard
Starting point is 00:06:44 because hell's broke loose in Georgia and the devil deals a cards. And if you and you get this shiny fiddle made of gold, but if you lose the devil gets your soul. As we said, some random singers come out and they tell him, Johnny, get your bow ready and play your fiddle hard because hell is broke loose in Georgia and the devil deals his card the devil's ready to take your shit
Starting point is 00:07:16 and if you win you get this shiny fiddle made of gold but if you lose the devil gets your soul and as Castle said who's paying for that? That's a bad deal by the way I mean I don't know how big is this fiddle if you're able to melt it down
Starting point is 00:07:30 I know you're saying it but if you're able to actually get some money and this thing's worth say quarter million quarter million would you pay a quarter million for your soul if you knew you were a cock and you knew you were good. Like say you're good at wrestling, bro, right? And in your prime.
Starting point is 00:07:46 You're prime. And then the devil comes in. You're like, no, I just saw your moves. I saw your moves in your previous match. You really want to see me right now? You're like, dude, I saw exactly what you said. Let's go. Let's go.
Starting point is 00:07:55 Like, would you not? As soon as my soul's on the line, I'm like, I'm good, bro. But you know you're going to beat him. I don't know, man. Like, you never know. Especially when it's the devil, the devil has like, I just feel like, when you're fucking with the devil, the ability that we're fucking with has some unlimited potential
Starting point is 00:08:14 because we're dealing with like unworldly shit Johnny's got confidence I know and I respect Johnny's abilities and his confidence but like he's putting up his entire soul against like what a gold-plated fiddle What are you going to put that in a museum? What have you ever done for a soul?
Starting point is 00:08:30 Have you ever used your soul? Would you... Every day. I don't even know what my soul is. Your soul is everything you got Okay, how do you not know that as soon as you give away your soul, you're not going to be like, all of a sudden you got no drive, all of a sudden like, you got no hunger, all of a sudden like, if it's like you never feel like working out, you just start gaining weight, you're like whatever. What if my soul's been holding me back? What if my soul's a fucking asshole?
Starting point is 00:08:56 And that's the person that's been an asshole this whole time and negative. And my soul leaves and now I become a positive, a genuine individual. What if that happened, Castle? I think that's something you've got to look inside yourself because, yeah, that's, if that's what you think your soul is, that's... Fuck my soul, bro. Yeah. Fuck my soul, that's a lot of it. If you think that's what your soul is, then yeah, fuck it, torch that shit away.
Starting point is 00:09:18 Fuck my soul. The devil opened up his case, and he said, I'll start this show, and fire flew from his fingertips as he ralzened up his bow, and he pulled the bow across the strings, and it made an evil hiss, and then a band of demons joined in, and it sounded something like this. Here's... Okay. Okay, okay, okay, okay. Devil kills it. But he brings it like backup.
Starting point is 00:10:22 That's my biggest thing I've always wondered to this. He says, a band of demons joined and it sounded something like this. I'm like, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. This is supposed to be fiddle on fiddle. Also, battle on battle. Those are definitely not fiddles. That was like a squad of guitar. Is that like...
Starting point is 00:10:38 He prouts a fucking... Dan, digger, dada. Yeah. a band of fucking demons. This man brought a whole other group to try to beat Johnny. And it's like, dude, you fucking change the whole Fuck you devil.
Starting point is 00:10:53 You brought some like Eddie Van Halen's out there. Rest in peace. He brought some of them in there. Yeah, he brought them some of there. Like somebody that could slay the fucking like, yeah, yeah, your fiddle's cool. But have you seen this? Fire is flowing from his fingertips.
Starting point is 00:11:09 But if you would have done it by himself and he did the whole. be by himself, devil's the man. But he brought a whole band of demons, and you know what, devil? Fuck you, bro. You mean, shit. Hey, hey, here's the thing. You make a fucking bet with the devil. You would need to get mad at it for cheating?
Starting point is 00:11:25 No, you said fiddle on fiddle. No, you're going to get mad at him for cheating. Yeah, I'm going to say, fuck you, devil. The devil makes his own rules. And the devil's got to be like, I'm sorry, have you seen my name? Lucifer S. Satan? Did you notice that?
Starting point is 00:11:39 The S. A.K.A. the devil. Are you going to get mad of me for cheating right now? What are you going to do? Your soul's already in line, dude. I got this shit right now. Hey, whole quartet. He brings out a whole quartet and like, yeah, you're fucked.
Starting point is 00:11:52 However, his soul's gone. This is why you don't make deals with the devil. You think he's done. But Johnny's the man. All right, let's see what he's got. When the devil finished, Johnny said, well, you're pretty good old son. But sit down in that chair right there and let me show you how it's done. Fire on the mountain run, boys run.
Starting point is 00:12:10 The devil's in the house of the rising sun. Chicken in the breadpan picking out though And it did you don't back No town no Oh Johnny brought it Ro Johnny I cut off again Although I have
Starting point is 00:12:48 I gotta be honest I have no idea What Johnny was talking about Johnny brought it dude But I have no idea What he got into there Talking about fire mountains And rising suns
Starting point is 00:13:00 And chickens in the breadpan Picking out dough That's some country shit Look The point that I need to make is that the entire time that that whole fiddle like got hot Justin's over here doing his air fiddle to a tee Like he was
Starting point is 00:13:15 He was working It's a good fiddle dude He was like getting hotter and hotter with a fiddle Like he was really He was putting his best air fiddle So imagine somebody putting their A game fiddle on Against Satan himself I could feel Johnny rolling
Starting point is 00:13:30 That was Justin right now So yeah the devil finished And he said And Johnny said well you're pretty good old son will sit down back in that chair and let me show you how it's done fire on the bottom run boys run What the fuck
Starting point is 00:13:41 Devil's in the house and the rising sun Huh? Chicks in the bread Not picking out no I don't know Grandin does your dog bite No child no How old he like
Starting point is 00:13:51 Who is asking granny of the dog bites? What is any of these things That he This whole light By the way I've listened to the song Many times in my life And I always was like
Starting point is 00:13:59 Yo Johnny brings it But never did I analyze That he makes absolutely No sense with his all breakdown line Honestly, I put that more on Charlie Than I do Johnny I mean
Starting point is 00:14:13 Because Johnny's just bringing the fiddle Like that's what he brings the table Charlie's the one who's then Saying all this bullshit Because he's just like Oh this is what you do When you're a country singer You talk about
Starting point is 00:14:23 Fire in the Mountain and the devil's in the house And chickens the bread And granny does your dog bite And like who the fuck The granny come from Where's granny and a dog Who's granny? Like we haven't seen granny
Starting point is 00:14:33 Up to this point bites. We haven't talked about Granny to this point but apparently her dog bites but it doesn't bite no child no it doesn't bite
Starting point is 00:14:41 no child according to granny but like granny might be a fucking lying crock of shit alright let's find out can we find out the verdict of what exactly
Starting point is 00:14:48 I mean I don't even know where we're at is there an actual like battle happening the devil played his fiddle along with a band of fucking demons
Starting point is 00:14:55 brought his beat Jerry was like fuck dad my shit's bitter and then we landed on Granny does your dog bite yeah started talking about fire mountains
Starting point is 00:15:02 and chickens in fucking bread house A bunch of country bullshit. Yeah, I'm ready to wrap this shit up. Let's hear how this battle ends up. Let's find out what the fuck the devil does from this point. The devil bowed his head because he knew that he'd been beat. And he laid that golden fiddle on the ground at Johnny's feet.
Starting point is 00:15:20 Johnny said, devil just come on back if you ever want to try again. I don't told you, son of a bitch. I'm the best as ever been. He played fire on the mountain, run, board run. The house of the rising sun. The chicken and the breadpan. Johnny brought it Yo, that devil was weak as fuck
Starting point is 00:16:06 The second that he brought anything Johnny brought like a half-ass ever Like yeah it was a nice little It was decent It was decent And you could be like Alright let me see what he got And then he just fucking bowed his head
Starting point is 00:16:20 He's like oh no I see you won And nobody judged this except the devil The devil was like No the devil could The devil already cheated once by bringing out a whole squad You could have fucking like brought like demons from me I'm almost imagining like some kind of Halloween-ass
Starting point is 00:16:34 shit where like the devil's rives up and suddenly he's got a whole orchestra and they put on the craziest effort you ever see he has way more to disposal than Johnny does that's for sure but Johnny's cocky as fuck because he's like yeah you go out of me you son of a bitch yeah use that against him he already put his soul on the line
Starting point is 00:16:52 he put his soul on the line on a fiddle battle against the fucking devil the devil could use everything that hell has to offer I'm sure he could pull up out of know who's a dead fiddler that I don't know. I don't know any fiddler. On the roof. Conway
Starting point is 00:17:08 Twitty. I don't know. I don't know. I don't know about country. But all the best country players that ever lived could like that. Who was the original fiddler on the roof? That guy. Bring him back. Did you already make that reference? Yeah. I don't know. I don't care. It's okay. The point is the devil he had a lot more at his disposal.
Starting point is 00:17:26 Like, Johnny threw one shot at him and he threw a nonsensical fucking rhyme. That didn't even run. about a granny with a dog that doesn't bite and the chicken bread picking out dog and the devil was just like I know when I've been beaten I'm gonna pack up my shit
Starting point is 00:17:44 and head back downstairs and then Johnny just comes in with talking shit like yeah you come back you son of a bitch I'm the bestest ever been he said fighting the bottom of my boys run well yeah once the devil like packs it in is like you're better than me like you better shot yeah like you think Johnny's gonna show
Starting point is 00:18:01 some fucking humility at that point? Like, no, he's already the cockus. He's all the devil. You know, I'd be honest, you're definitely better than me. He's the cockiest fiddler in all the land. And this is only going to make his confidence grow. Now, good luck anybody bringing Johnny back down to earth, man.
Starting point is 00:18:16 I wonder, like, did Charlie, this songwriter was read by Charlie Fred Hayward, Charlie Daniels, William DeGereo, Fred Edwards, James W. Marshall, and John Crank. six individuals John Crank Six individuals Wrote this song Fucking John Crank Why was so
Starting point is 00:18:38 Who like what did John Crane Was John Crane like No fire on the mountain run boys run That's what we should do And they're like You're one of the writers now Thank you Like how are six different individuals
Starting point is 00:18:50 Writing this song Fred Edwards Did you throw in the grind Does your dog bite? No by to know Because if you did Nobody knows what the fuck you're talking about And I just don't understand
Starting point is 00:19:00 how six different writers wrote this fucking basic ass song about Johnny battling the devil. Yeah, no. What a crazy song. But Charlie Downs was one of them and got a rest of the soul, Charlie Daniels. Thank you for writing this about Johnny and the devil. I might be unfamiliar just with Charlie Daniels. I know this song, but like this had to be like the only one that anyway.
Starting point is 00:19:24 Because I assume all those six writers were the Charlie Daniels band. This is where you and I come in and we're not very known. Oh, shit. Yeah, sorry. We didn't do research of Charlie Daniels. No, I should. I know Mike Carroll's like, you idiot.
Starting point is 00:19:37 And I'm like, whatever, dude. By the way, Mike. Mike taught me at a DJ. We did the song that you wanted to do. All right. And it's a weird-ass country song about, like, a guy. A devil. A devil going down to Georgia.
Starting point is 00:19:51 I know this has like a cold following. Like, people love this song. And I've done it for karaoke. It's actually quite fun to do it, to be honest. Yeah. Chal none to buy the bum boys. Run. I don't do.
Starting point is 00:20:00 Anyway. Especially when I have my fiddle, because I have a fiddle that I bring with me. Yeah. The whole time we were doing this, you were doing the air fiddle.
Starting point is 00:20:07 It's a good air fiddle song. That's for sure. Air fiddle. Yeah. But, number one, thank you, C squared
Starting point is 00:20:13 for bringing this to our, uh, and also, God rest of soul, Charlie Daniels. And all the other six writers. All the other six writers that wrote this fucking song.
Starting point is 00:20:23 How do they all die this year too? No. I'm sure they all died, though. If I would look them all up there, probably all dead. There's a debt least one that's still hanging through. No.
Starting point is 00:20:32 And he's still trying to play the song. I'm going to go ahead and say, nope, negative. They're all dead. This song came out in 979. It's not even that long ago. 79 is 50 years ago. No, it's like 40 years ago. Fuck you.
Starting point is 00:20:44 You almost trimmed me out with that. All right. All right. You know your math. That's for sure. Very basic math. All right, let's jump into the slaps. How many slaps and how many snaps you give in the Charlie Daniels band?
Starting point is 00:20:58 Yeah Alright You kind of You know what that was It was like three slaps And like a fiddle That's it You're so good
Starting point is 00:21:16 Kind of took my thunder Because I was going Alright I'll rebuttal I'll rebuttal I'll go back I'll go back two slaps Two slap So you're just gonna agree with me
Starting point is 00:21:36 Two slaps and a fiddle No you know what I like my three slaps It's a great song I'm keeping my original So then do I just take out your It doesn't matter Your fucking rebuttal suck
Starting point is 00:21:44 Okay. The point is... Our fans love my rebuttal. Yeah, you did a song. Yeah. Good song. Thank you. Thank you for that.
Starting point is 00:21:58 Thanks for talking about the devil. Shout out to Georgia. Shout out to the devil. Is the devil still living in Georgia? Do you think he ever left? Or is he decided to reside there? Is that why the Falcons lose every game when they have a lead? That's exactly why.
Starting point is 00:22:11 All right. Devil's still. Blame Charlie to... Hey, Atlanta. Falcons fans Charlie Daniels blame him next!
