Starting point is 00:00:15 I said, DJs. It is time. It's time for TLC Week. TLC Week! What does TLC stand for? Tender love and care, of course. I thought it was T-Baws, Left Eye, and Chili. Well, that too.
Starting point is 00:01:06 That makes sense. It makes sense why that would yell with that as their name right. But I see how both of them. Yeah, it plays well. But the beginning beat out the gate, the... Please don't ruin this beat for me by trying to duplicate it with your mouth. One more time.
Starting point is 00:01:21 Let me try one more time. No, no. All right. That was the last chance you get. There's something about sort of like a smooth jazz beat. We have a nice trumpet or saxophone. Since the beginning of time, I don't know if it's something about my upbringing. I don't know if it's because of the fact that at my first car,
Starting point is 00:01:36 I had 94.7, the wave as number four on my presets. I always love some smooth jazz. So when you can work in a nice saxophone or a nice trumpet on my hip-hop beat, I am in. And this is definitely one of those ones that fostered that initial belief because yeah, dude, I love that fucking trumpet. Bring it in. Come in.
Starting point is 00:01:57 The beats popping. It's got that early 90s. You know, they're bringing it. TLC knew what they were doing when they came in with this. And let's talk about the lyrics. The 22nd of loneliness. Any month, it's the 22nd and she's feeling lonely. Oh, it's just, I love that line.
Starting point is 00:02:13 The 22nd and lonely. What does that mean to? It's the 22nd of the month, in my opinion. But it's like the 22nd of any month. It could be any month. It's just, you don't, she's not putting a date on the month. It's the 22nd of loneliness. And it might hit home to a lot of people nowadays because we're counting down the days of loneliness
Starting point is 00:02:32 that we're in this quarantine situation. We're locked in. A lot of people are putting this number of days that they've been doing this or that. A lot of people can relate to what T.Baz is dealing with right here. But at the same time, then now a lot of people are talking about legit loneliness. I very much doubt that T.Baz is dealing with some legit loneliness. She's dealing with her own version of it. So we both agree.
Starting point is 00:02:54 That's a deep statement. But beyond that, she gets kind of quick into it. And we bet there's so many things. Letting everybody know. She loves her man with all honesty. But she knows he's cheating on her. Hence, the name of the song, Creep, I believe, is what she's building here,
Starting point is 00:03:13 what she's developing. That's what we're getting to. We haven't got to that part of the song. Not yet. So maybe just let her tell it that. But let's talk about it real quick. because she'd look him in the eyes, but all he tells me is lies. What do you think she means by that?
Starting point is 00:03:26 She looks him in the eyes, but all he tells him is lies to keep her near. I think that means he wants his cake and he wants to eat it too. He wants to be able to keep creeping around on her, but he doesn't want to face her with it and be like, I know I'm cheating on you, but we can work through it. He's like, I think I can continue to get away with this if I keep lying to her about it.
Starting point is 00:03:47 And she's a little bit wise to it, So she's kind of now maybe coming up with her own way As to how to finagle the situation I'll never leave him down Though I might mess around So this is her man She's gonna take care of him Thu thick and thin
Starting point is 00:04:48 But if he gonna get some She gonna get some little Playtime on her side herself This absolutely immediately feels like That of a relationship that has run its course It's at the end And they just don't know how to get out of it. It's like it's just become a too comfort zone where it's like I mean like I know his parents
Starting point is 00:05:10 and his friends. My family is like knows him as mine. They ask him me about him every time I see him. So I can't just like get out of this. But we're both just kind of not really into this. We're both trying to look elsewhere right now to get our love and affection. And the only reason. She says it. It's only because she needs some affection. The only thing this man that she's been with is not doing. is giving her affection, which is actually a lot of bit. But that's amazing that all he needed to do was give some affection. But instead, she's going to creep. Yeah, just keep it on the down-low.
Starting point is 00:05:49 So she's keeping it on the down-low, right? Are we both reading it in it? I mean, she's not keeping it on that much of a down-low, because she made a fucking song about it. She's literally telling everybody now. She's singing about it. And then she says, except nobody is supposed to know. We all know.
Starting point is 00:06:04 We all know now. What are you doing? You're kind of putting yourself on blast. You're blowing your spot up right now. You probably shouldn't have made a song about you. How awkward would this be? When they first came out with this song, she was dating her man, and she just sang this song, and he'd be, like, sitting back there like,
Starting point is 00:06:19 wait, what? What did he say? Yeah, exactly. And then he reads, and his homie that, like, came here with him, starts, like, looking kind of at him with a side eye, just like, oh, I want to check your girl, man. And she's, like, getting into it. Meanwhile, he's the one that she was cool.
Starting point is 00:06:34 need some affection and he's just kind of like fuck dude meanwhile he's the friend is the one she's been creeping with the whole time I mean what up then she creeps
Starting point is 00:06:42 just made a Jerry Spaner yeah cause he doesn't know what she does and no attention goes to show she's saying you didn't give me no attention
Starting point is 00:06:52 so fucking your boy I mean you're the one who's turning it into fucking your friend I know I kind of made that up but still that's what I mean this story because it makes it so much better it makes it way more fucked up
Starting point is 00:07:03 I love lonely dance And we don't talk Alright I get questions now Don't ask your questions She says I keep giving love until the day he pushes me astray That I want to question her on I feel like that is a line That is easy to say in a song
Starting point is 00:07:44 But if it comes down to it Like are you though I don't know Your creeping schedule might be getting in the way Of your providing all the love that you're saying you are I'm just saying if both parties are creeping at this point, which is what I'm gathering that is the case.
Starting point is 00:08:00 I don't think she can, like I was talking about earlier how he wants to have his cake and eat it too. She's trying to now layer this cake with icing saying, I keep giving him loving until he pushes me away. And it's like, okay, well then how are then you also creeping?
Starting point is 00:08:16 Yeah. Because if you're out Tuesday night, Thursday night, most of Saturday night, and Sunday morning, creeping, I don't think you're giving them all loving that he needs either, you know? Yeah, and here's another thing. This is the 23rd of loneliness.
Starting point is 00:08:32 This is one day after that everything else she's been talking about. You think all that just happened, just happened in the 23rd? If he's cheating, she knows she's cheating on him. One day later, she's getting even deeper. Like, we don't even talk. She's just, she's going through a whirlwind in 24 hours, ladies and gentlemen.
Starting point is 00:08:49 Okay. But the problem is, she's realizing that even though it feels strange, She's not bugging because she's doing the same. So she's like, until he pushes me away, I'm going to eat that cake. I'm going to eat that cake. I'm going to eat that cake. And she says, I'm going to creep.
Starting point is 00:09:12 Oh, my goodness. Okay, wait a second. Oh, my. I got to go somewhere. Take a walk. Justin's going to walk this one off. I got to get out of here. All right.
Starting point is 00:09:31 All right, walk it off. You're going to tell me. you're going to keep him protected by not telling him because he couldn't handle it yeah I'm gonna just keep cheating on him left and right but he can't handle it so I'm gonna protect him by just being like you know what I just I'm gonna for his benefit dude there's enough dance on my garage door now you bring yourself back oh god yeah she's castle I mean, you explained it already
Starting point is 00:10:07 But Not, not I was just getting into it And I was abruptly interrupted By your beating out my garage door He couldn't handle it So she keeps him protected But it's not telling him
Starting point is 00:10:19 So she does what? Creep Can I just say Yeah, go ahead These girls sure do make creep sounding fun Like they make it sound sexy Like It's so disrespectful
Starting point is 00:11:11 But they're making it sound so If you told me intellectual. Before I ever listened to this song, you know, TLC came out with a song about creeping around on their man to keep him protected because, like,
Starting point is 00:11:24 he wouldn't be able to handle what they're doing. I'd be like, what the fuck? That sounds like a fucked up song. Then you play this song and the way they... And you're over here dancing to it, man. You're over here breaking it. The whole time. You're dancing while you're like,
Starting point is 00:11:36 wait a minute. This girl sucks while you're dancing. I see you breaking it down over. I will actually say T-Baz's sexiest voice in R-B. I can listen. the first and her sing about anything. The point is, like,
Starting point is 00:11:47 they are able to take a subject that any man should probably be like, what the fuck is this song about? Because there's been a lot of other songs about this. Like, think about, like, Beyonce's whole,
Starting point is 00:11:57 like lemonade album or something. Like, I don't know. I mean, TLC tends to just, like, not really love their men, even though they do.
Starting point is 00:12:04 Like, she says she loves her man. But they're able to get... But she's protecting him by doing that. And then they, like, they also don't like the guys hanging
Starting point is 00:12:11 on the passenger side and shit like that. You know what I mean? it's TLC week, so you guys know what I'm talking about. Everybody knows it's TLC week. I mean, they do now. Here's a thing real quick. We're making a TLC week.
Starting point is 00:12:22 This part right here that comes up is one of my favorite parts. What's crazy about it is it's not a lyric. Like the lyrics they're putting here are O-H-A-H-O-H-A-H. But that's not what it is. So what's your, it sounds like you're going to take issue with this. No, I like it. This is by far. The way you just... Probably one of my favorite parts of the song is if you do karaoke, you have to wait for this part, and you better kill this part and really get into it because it's a simple yet very dynamic verse of which you better break it down.
Starting point is 00:13:04 My question is, have you done this for karaoke before? No. Never have. Okay. So it's... I'm disappointed in myself, actually. Yeah. No, it is actually a song I've tried. You've seen it. And this is probably the only song that I've actually done with a female voice. I very rarely will do that. I can channel my inner T-Bahs.
Starting point is 00:13:46 It's a similar universes for sure. A little bit. I think I'm pretty sure my goat, because you're right, that is a part of the song that you can't just stand upright and just say as you read the lines. You have to, you have to perform that one. Oh, ah. Oh, you can't do that. My go-to, I'm going to do the butterfly. That's the only way I can imagine doing it.
Starting point is 00:14:03 It's an understandable and well-played karaoke move. Absolutely. That's all you can do. The only thing I think I would do is do the butterfly while pelvic thrusting onto the ground. And then just really like really take it there because you know me. I go there. A little bit more of a little bit more of a ground pelvic thruster than I am. I'll go for it.
Starting point is 00:14:24 I'll go that. I'm going for points. I'm not, I'll have very good voice. We know that though. It's part of your charm. That's pretty much the best I can do to which I'm over time. See, every time you do that, especially the way I'm looking at you. performing it. You do it in sort of this
Starting point is 00:14:40 insulting way, like they're bad. T-Baz makes it sound so much sexy than you do. Well, I can't do it as sexy, therefore I go- So you have to like go comedy with it. Yeah, okay. All right. I respect it. All right. But like I said, these girls have the ability to creep on their men
Starting point is 00:14:59 but say they love them. They make creeping sound sexy, which is a testament to TLC because that is not a very lovable act to romanticize and sing. about and there's a few points in the song where they tried to make it sound like they're a little victimized but like you're kind of you know you're just as much at fault at this point if you're making a full fucking song about it absolutely i want to hear them creep one more time what do you say we got to talk about the music video a little bit though because this is one of those songs that
Starting point is 00:16:04 when i hear synonymously i'm visualizing the music video because it's so iconic and um nobody ever made a pair of silk pegas look better than tLC all three of them in different colors. They all look sexy itself. Super baggy 90s PJs, but they all pull it off and look classy. At the same time, if you're trying to make a song about creeping sexy, I mean, first of all, they got the music to do it, but they're able to pull it off with these amazingly shimmery, like kind of baggy loose fitting, but yet still sexy PJs. Hard task. I don't think too many girls will be able to pull it out. I can honestly say, Castle, that I do not remember the video. I have no idea what PJs you're talking about, but the way you describe them
Starting point is 00:16:48 made me want to finish this song and dance with like some colorful PJs. I'm very disappointed that you have not seen the video. I don't know how that's possible because... I don't watch music videos. Yeah, but this is back when it was in the 90s. I didn't pay attention then. I was playing Nintendo. I don't want to tell you. I wasn't watching MTV in the 90s. I wasn't a big music video thing. I wasn't. I watched like Usher and like I think I watched no scrubs. I was a big no scrubs fair. Like TLC, no scrubs I knew. Okay, well, that's going to be a problem. There's a lot of these songs I'm going to want to discuss a video,
Starting point is 00:17:18 but especially this one. TLC Week. Because the main thing that I remember from this music video is the fucking trumpet player, all right? So this guy that's playing trumpet, the whole song, the guy that they got to play trumpet, first of all, guarantee you this guy doesn't know a single note of trumpet. And he has this stupid-ass look on his face the whole time.
Starting point is 00:17:38 Every single time there's a trumpet note, There's this shot that has him and Teabah said next to each other. And he's like finishes up his trumpet note and he turns and looks at her like, whoa, she's hot. And it wasn't until like I was older. I looked back and I was like, okay, I guess the guy's got like a six-pack or something. He's supposed to be like sexy or something. But all I thought as a kid watching, I was like,
Starting point is 00:18:00 why is the trumpet player such a dumbass meathead bitch? Like the whole time he's just kind of looking at her with his trumpet, like, whoa, there's like a hot girl dancing next to me. This trumpet player sounds very similar to Danny Zuko. Danny Zuko was way smoother of his trumpet player. Even when he was looking up from the stairs? At the leather. At Danny Zuko's lowest point, he was on a similar plane to this trumpet player.
Starting point is 00:18:24 But the trumpet player, at least he could have had a redeeming moment if he could have at least pretended like he was playing a string of notes. But no point in the music video, do I remember him doing that? The only thing I remember is just him holding the trumpet next to T-Baz and just looking at her like, Whoa Trump a guy He's one of the
Starting point is 00:18:44 He's one of the only things That stands out of it At this video to me Along with girls Dancing and Sexy PJs Talking about Cheating on their men All right
Starting point is 00:18:52 Dissect DJ listeners As well as myself We all have some homework to do Go home Who hasn't watched this video Oh if you haven't seen it Like myself I'm shocked
Starting point is 00:19:01 If you know If you've seen it You know exactly what this man's talking about And you probably laughed your ass off For the last five minutes If you're not You're just standing here like I gotta see this video
Starting point is 00:19:10 so that I can understand the trumpet player doing an absolutely ridiculous rendition of a trumpet player and these girls in pajamas that I must see. So, homework assignment for myself as well as anybody else of my dissect DJ fans that have not seen this video. And Left Dead as a Do-Het's done.
Starting point is 00:19:26 It is TLC Week, so go ahead and check out their video as well as the other ones. It's your homework assignment. It's your homework assignment. Do that. So with this song, Castle, what do you give this rating of this song? And then after we give our ratings, I'm going to let it play out.
Starting point is 00:19:40 and move on with TLC Week. What do you give the rating castle? That was four slaps and a trumpet note. I like it. A little trumpet. Yeah, yeah. I like it. I don't have an actual trumpet, so I had to kind of pretend with my mouth.
Starting point is 00:20:00 But I still did a better trumpet than you did now. That was good. You're trumpet. Here's mine. I'm going to give a... O-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a- two o-a-as. There was a third on the table, but you decided to leave it off. I held it off.
Starting point is 00:20:15 I held it off. So I give it three claps, a snap, and a, and two. You said you get, no, no, you give it three. And you said it, you gave it two. I gave it three. And you said you were going to give two, but then you said it three times. It's three. By my math, that was six then.
Starting point is 00:20:34 So we're going three claps, one snap, and three. Oh, ah, uh, uh. Okay, well, you just said it three times now. So it's nine. That's nine. I don't know. I'm, I'm math. half in the shit out of you.
Starting point is 00:20:47 Ladies, sing it. I got your horn and my O-Wiles, bringing this song to an end. TLC Week. That's why we gave those, because that was part of the song. Is that your favorite TLC song, would you say? Really?
Starting point is 00:21:19 No. I think I would put it up there. I think it's my favorite. It's your favorite TLC song. That's why I got four slaps. I wouldn't have given four slaps just any TLC song, but, you know. It's, it's up there.
Starting point is 00:21:29 It's good. I would have to probably say What about your friends Those are my two favorites Yeah yeah Those are a good one But the most popular one There is another one out there
Starting point is 00:21:42 That I think needs to be covered And you know what Wait, it is TLC week I think we know what we have to do Next
