Starting point is 00:00:55 ford owners get a thousand dollar bonus for details visit your local ford store or ford.ca face man you look dumb i mean you're a fish yeah so are you are you am i a green fish no you're blue you're yellow sorry i don't know my colors i guess you're yellow too i also don't know my color so it's like oh okay well you're yellow and i said wait that's the color you said fine you look like me asshole all right okay then you're very handsome um welcome to power wash whoa podcast power wash pals whatever it's called thanks thank you for welcome what is it power power wash power pals power wash power pals okay well you have a really long how do you oh have you never played no no i i got the game literally oh okay i have no idea what i'm doing okay so holding down left button will just spray and letting go do that
Starting point is 00:01:52 right click will like toggle it on it's usually yeah okay or when you're spraying or when you're not spraying will rotate your knob so that you can spray in either direction vertically or not so usually you can clean by just moving, vertically or not. So usually you can clean by just moving your mouse, but if you press C, you'll go into aim mode and you'll notice your camera kind of stays in the same place. This is so you don't have to get nauseated from your camera moving all over the place.
Starting point is 00:02:17 Other than that, same basic stuff, crouch prone, all the goodies. And then you just clean. We're going to do this. Yep, that's pretty much it. right well i'm excited to watch i actually and i enjoy power washing like in real life i've not done it in this game but in real life it's kind of like it is it's very satisfying it's very very satisfying except for the fact i don't know what they're called but when you power wash like at least cement
Starting point is 00:02:43 especially there's always those stupid little circles that don't come off and you have to go like change your nozzle or like get really close or put extra effort in those little circles oil stains they might be but i think they're like plants sometimes too it's like little i don't know i don't know well this is in real life so we get the benefit of not having to worry about that stuff. So generally, just start cleaning and have fun with it. There's really no right way to do it so long as you get all the details. My recommendation is just go slow.
Starting point is 00:03:17 Don't be in a hurry because being in a hurry will make you miss stuff. You'll have to go through things like 10 extra times as opposed to just cleaning it once. So if you just take your time, all will be well. Got it. This is actually more exciting than I thought. I told you. It's actually quite satisfying. So anyway, introduce yourself for those who don't know. Well, that's so funny.
Starting point is 00:03:42 We've got the ding right as well. I'm Wade. I've been making content content for how long we've been doing this 11 years now uh mark and i have kind of known each other since middle school really known each other since high school and college i'd love to know what kind of content i make anymore i really don't know i do still do a lot of horror stuff i actually just recently replayed alien isolation because i just think it's such a great game. My channel is Minion777 on Twitch, LordMinion777 on YouTube. I started posting streaming VODs to YouTube finally.
Starting point is 00:04:13 I don't know why I wasn't doing it, but I finally did start doing that, so I have a VODs channel. But I don't know that I'm all that interesting. I like sports. Not all that interesting. I mean, I don't know. I i think everyone people ask all the time like oh what is your life like like what's it like doing what you do and it's like i spend a lot of time
Starting point is 00:04:31 at my computer in my basement yelling at my cat to go away i sit on my couch i watch tv like i don't know i've been going to some football games recently which has been fun i mean the bangles have been good the last couple years and it's been fun going to sports football games recently, which has been fun. I mean, the Bengals have been good the last couple of years, and it's been fun going to sports ball games. Bob went with me to the Bengals game recently. We had a good time. I saw pictures. Yeah. You didn't invite me.
Starting point is 00:04:53 Well, you're not exactly local. Yeah, but you could. And I'm pretty sure you were in another country at that time. Well, you know how it'd be. So, like, I could have wasted the fingertip breaths. That's not how that's described. But I decided not to. Alright well thank you very much for that. It made me feel really
Starting point is 00:05:13 good. Do you want to go to a game soon? There's one Sunday. Oh busy. You're a good friend. Trying to insult you on your own. Wow. Whatever this is called. You know what good friend. Yeah. So I'll tell you on your own. Yeah. Wow. Whatever this is called.
Starting point is 00:05:27 And what you, you know what it is. Well, actually you told me three different days. I don't know. I think the name just changes every single time. Well, anyway, for anyone that's listening.
Starting point is 00:05:38 Yeah, that's Wade. You know, Wade, or you don't know Wade. And that's a problem for some people, I guess. Oh, it's a problem. some people i guess oh it's a problem yeah
Starting point is 00:05:46 because wade um yeah wade's been doing it just about as long as i have um in fact we kind of started uh roughly at the same time just talking about this weird youtube thing which we've mentioned i'm sure there are some people here that have been since the beginning but at the same time it is it might as well be a lifetime ago that's one thing like i i don't take for granted the right word uh but it's weird to me like there are people online that know so much about us that have never met us and then like after doing this for so long i just assume that everyone in the community has been here the whole time so it's like i'll talk about like yeah you guys remember whenever i played far sky like in 2014 and then like most of them are like uh dude i've only been watching for like two years because you know people come they go whatever like audience kind of evolves over
Starting point is 00:06:39 traders but it's impossible to know i mean you have a lot more followers and subscribers than I do, but it's impossible to know when people started watching. So your point of reference for some callbacks, jokes, memories, how much you have to explain things, it's really hard to even know that anymore. It's like, oh, yeah, man, I can't believe it. I remember that Mark posted that video of my brother where he was wearing the wig. Everyone's like what what are you talking about you know 2013 it was like yesterday
Starting point is 00:07:10 well even like the you're welcome tour like how many people have been following since then and have no idea what the you're welcome tour is well if you think about it not even that many people from the community even were able to see it like proportionally speaking a very small amount because those theaters i think the most that fit in a single theater was 4 000 that was way too many people uh if we're going to be honest about it just because the show wasn't made for you know not having tv screens projecting what we were doing so people up in the nosebleeds were just like squinting you know they didn't know they should bring binoculars so they could see what we're doing. Uh, so we, we learned a lot of lessons there about, um, the quality of performances based on can people actually see us? Uh, but yeah, it's still proportionally tiny amount of people,
Starting point is 00:07:55 uh, for the entirety of the community. So yeah, there's, there's always a turnover. There's always a cycle of people, uh, that come in and out and it's, and out. And the numbers can be mind-boggling. But at the same time, it's just like the amount of people that have interacted with us in one way or another that we'll never meet. And they'll never know. Well, this is going on Spotify, right? So this isn't even like the YouTube audience. This is people that have either found us or followed us also over here absolutely so also a different audience that may not get all the like references and things that we make sometimes that's what's wild i don't know it's just i don't
Starting point is 00:08:35 know why that of all things blows my mind but it's just it's strange yeah and it's just it is that thing of perspective where we've been doing it so long. We've seen every moment of it. But those out there who just discover they'll see and they'll assume that this is the way things have been since the beginning or we've always had the success or we've always had the numbers or or, you know, it's always been this beginning and people don't know the beginnings and people can't really understand the beginnings without knowing the full story. So that's why I don't even bother talking to people about it too much. That's fair. Our beginnings, too, are just very like I feel like normal. We just we went to school. We had families. Good.
Starting point is 00:09:19 Oh, you're going to work to the way beginning. Oh, yeah. Well, even then, I don't know. Just people think that we've lived uh some kind of superstar lifestyle which i don't think i've really lived the superstar lifestyle at all but like when i was young it was just like nah man i was so excited to have like a lunchable in second grade like there's nothing that exciting uh you know you you say people think you have had a superstar lifestyle you've described your life as very boring uh from
Starting point is 00:09:45 the very beginning of this episode i know i if there's one thing i want people to get about me from this it's that i'm incredibly boring outside of making content what is this floating is this part of the the house this flowery stuff uh it's a garden or something i don't know okay so i don't need i've been wanting to wash it, and it won't be washed. Like graffiti. It does look like graffiti. Yeah, it's like someone's been tagging SpongeBob. I really hope this is snail slime that's trailing up the side of the house here.
Starting point is 00:10:16 I really hope that's like Gary or something. Either that or SpongeBob's having some wild parties, and the gangs of Bikini Bottom are tagging his house. Like, what has he been doing? Yeah, I don't know, man. This guy gets in some trouble. I think he's been dead a while or something. We have to take care of it. We're trying to get his house back on the market.
Starting point is 00:10:40 Oh, he heard us talking. It's SpongeBob. If I was a dirt, I'd want to live here too patrick bubble before he gets done we can't pop the bubble yeah i don't know i don't know what he's talking to uh but anyway enough talking about the past because reminiscing is all we ever do um
Starting point is 00:10:55 what do you what do you hate about content creation today um all of the attempts at drama like there's just so many drama creators and there's like just i don't know it always feels like i'm afraid of talking to people i don't know because i'm like are they gonna try to drama bait me drama bait all over me like are we gonna get drama baited and it's not like targeting anyone in specific it's just like i don't know i feel like i've had so much drama in life that i don't want any part of any of it now and it just feels
Starting point is 00:11:30 like that's a it's like the reality tv is becoming content creation where it's like have you heard the tea about tom no what is it i don't know i'm trying to find some yeah i mean honestly that's just human nature i think i i don't think. I'm trying to find some. Yeah. I mean, honestly, that's just human nature, I think. I don't think that anyone could ever be surprised. Yeah, because people love gossip. People love stirring up shit. People love hearing about people's lives falling apart because it's entertaining. And back in the day, that was the only form of entertainment there really was.
Starting point is 00:12:00 Just people being people. I hate gossip. Am I weird? I mean, I don't particularly like gossip um but there are always people to do i don't want to hear it i don't want to watch it i'm just like dude i come on can't we just laugh like remember when we used to do that no no am i old what happened to me you were old since the very beginning look i think i'm old it's I can't really help you about that until they invent the magical anti-aging something or other. Can you do that for me?
Starting point is 00:12:29 Me? What do you think I'm doing? I'm a little bit of everything. You're always doing something. You've got to be in on something. You're going to bring back Walt Disney or something. Come on. You know.
Starting point is 00:12:41 Why would I be part of the conspiracy to bring back Walt? Oh, yeah, I can move this Okay That's why I couldn't wash the stool. Is that something that's ours? Yeah, that's our so you can stand on the stool So you can get up higher. Oh, okay. Wow. Okay. Yeah, they thought of everything on this game like how to get up Yeah Walt Disney so I know i know you know uh-huh all right so if i were to tell you all the secrets about the plot to bring back walt disney would it really change your day-to-day life well it really matter i mean it would give me comfort knowing that maybe if i preserve myself right now they'd have some like better hair treatment or anti-aging cream in a few years
Starting point is 00:13:25 that could just be preserved in a box for like a decade okay but have you tried any well no so you're not about me mark this is about you they're hoping that there's something out there and you haven't done anything oh yeah there's no hope right now. Oh, yeah. Why would I bother? How do you know? Have you looked?
Starting point is 00:13:50 No. All right. You see. I mean, okay. I went to Bosley, like, I don't know how long ago. I haven't even thought of that name in ages. It's been a while, but I went there when I was still in college, I think. Mm-hmm.
Starting point is 00:14:03 And they looked at me. I was in my low 20s, and they were like, yeah, hmm. I think we've got to wait until you're a little bit older so we see, like, your full bald pattern come through because there's no point in doing something now and you're losing more hair. And I was like, all right, I guess that makes sense. So I was, like, I don't know, 23, 25, somewhere in that range.
Starting point is 00:14:24 And they were like, so come back when you're, like, 37. And I was like i don't know 23 25 somewhere in that range they were like so come back when you're like 37 and i was 37 37 at this point like my life will be over the bald will have ruined everything i can't wait till then i was devastated man and then then they were like the amount of hair loss you might have you're looking at thousands of dollars what do you mean like they were very honest with me about the fact there was little hope for my life you're gonna be so deep in hair debt you'll never be able to claw your way out you're gonna have to get a mortgage pretty bald second hair mortgage oh man there's no yeah they could be like up to like 20 or 30 grand I think to have like
Starting point is 00:15:06 for what so there were two different types of like hair chia petting there was the something called the strip the way it was described and the way I interpret it I was completely like Frankenstein it sounded like they go to the back of your head
Starting point is 00:15:21 and they cut out like a full like strip of hair like you have like a measuring tape to the back of your head and they cut out like a full like strip of hair. Like you have like a measuring tape or something, but of your scalp and hair. And they just like move it to a bald spot, slap it on there. And they're like, yeah, no one will ever know something's weird about that. That was probably fine. I've seen. Oh, no.
Starting point is 00:15:42 I've seen pictures of like immediately after the operation because it's a Tryptophobia nightmare Because it literally Is just like they just Fucking peel your Skin and then they plant it And it's all these horrible holes It's
Starting point is 00:15:58 So that's probably the So that's the other one that's the more expensive one the follicle Replacement where they go through and they individually take out follicles, and then they replant those follicles into your bald spot. And that way it's harder to tell where you had the follicles removed than also where you had them placed. That's like a more natural look at the end. I don't know, man.
Starting point is 00:16:19 $20,000, $30,000, it's like I'm still paying off my student loans and everything else. It's like I can't afford that well uh yeah that sounds awful uh yeah i guess that makes perfect sense that's why that's why i went with the bald but i've heard i've heard that uh there's a is it turkey well it's not probably not a good time to go over there right now but um in turkey i believe they have i've seen planes full of people coming back from having probably the taking the follicle surgery and it's just like the entire plane is full of people within their heads or just like bandaged up or or just like bleeding openly and it's like so they don't have tourists in turkey they've got the bald
Starting point is 00:17:02 people don't walk around with their cameras and like they're very obvious touristy shirts they're just walking around like with hats and bandages on yep pretty much that's uh that's what it's all about Turkey of the cuisine don't lie to me Baldy I know I too go travel for cuisine. Actually, I was just in Iceland and I was very glad that the majority of Icelandic recipes was not like, I read some stuff and it was like they have something like, you know, a whole sheep's head, which is a thing you can get there. there oh but most of it's just meat and potatoes and carrots why is this not placing what is going on here what my mouse i don't know man my mouse wheel down is broken everything in my office is just breaking is your light still uh going ham oh yeah it is i i don't have any excuse of why i haven't fixed any stuff but when it comes to my youtube stuff i just can't be bothered to fix something until it just shatters
Starting point is 00:19:13 to pieces and i don't know why i can't fault you on that dana has been editing my stuff since like 2015 and when i started streaming like on twitch a lot more uh probably like 2019 2020 i just like loved streaming and i was like man youtube uh you guys will get some highlights for a while because i don't feel like recording now i'm recording more youtube specific stuff and i'm doing everything but like other than recording the videos i'm just like dana here schedule uh whatever uh thumbnail um uh any ideas but nah you know i recorded it just dana it's your youtube channel now just take me get to work don't ask me questions you don't pay dana enough to deal with that crap i don't know you can't just openly say that.
Starting point is 00:20:07 Well, I mean, I pay her, but it's definitely not enough to deal with my crap. I pay her some amount. Who knows what it is? I don't deal with it. Dana worries about her own business. At this point, she's liable for working for me because she knows better. She's liable for working for you? She should be liable for working for me. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:20:22 All right. Well, I don't think I run my operation that loose. Yeah, me either. Yeah, yeah. Okay. How do we know if all of these leaves are done? So you can press tab. When you highlight over something, you can see in the top left, it'll show like a progress bar for that specific thing that you're looking at.
Starting point is 00:20:41 And if you press tab, you can see kind of a highlight of things that are still dirty. So that's how you can get away with that. So if I hover over and the pineapple leaf is full, it means they're all done? Yes, pretty much. Anything that's still dirty will glow kind of in orange. There we go. And that should be all the leaves up there.
Starting point is 00:21:00 Alright. That's looking pretty good. I think most of that's done over there. You almost always miss something. Like something will get missed and it's annoying, but it just is the way it is. Oh, that is a nightmare for me. I don't know. I don't know what to call it.
Starting point is 00:21:15 I don't want to label it because I'm not diagnosed with anything. But I'm very particular about stuff like that. And I'm trying really hard not to count like the number of uh little diamond patterns on the house it's like my brain is telling me i need to know how many of them there are and i would be distracted for a very long time checking myself so i'm just going to move on and hope that spongebob's house is done because that i could spend forever looking at it and never get my life back. You sure?
Starting point is 00:21:48 Maybe you should go see a doctor about that. That kind of sounds, you know, I'm not a doctor, but, um, look, I can't be bothered to actually find out what's going on. It's more so just,
Starting point is 00:21:57 I'm very busy not doing anything. God, I want to stay that way. That sounds like my brother. Oh, geez. Uh, very healthy mindset being busy doing which I do get like I understand there are occasions in which I to feel busy doing absolutely nothing the most important nothing that I've ever had to
Starting point is 00:22:23 do and no one needs to bother me when I'm doing this particular nothing but at the same time my life changed exponentially for the better when I got diagnosed for ADHD not saying your life is terrible I'm not saying that time for something else
Starting point is 00:22:42 time for something else come on. How long are you going to use that? How long are you going to use my ADHD to try to better people's lives? Come on. Can't you give me something else? Yeah, yeah, yeah. Your life's better.
Starting point is 00:22:59 You got diagnosed. Can't you tell I'm busy? I'm too busy for this. Yeah, you know that that is the excuse and you know i do think that there's probably you know there are some people that self-diagnose without actually getting tests or believe they have and you know maybe they don't um it is something that you need proper testing to diagnose so i can't even say if you have something or don't um based on just my conjecture. Oh, yeah, I don't either. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:23:25 I just know I have, like, I guess they're quirks for now because I don't know what else to label them as. You have My Hero Academia quirks? I do, yeah. I'm trying to remember what any of them are called. I played the mobile game for a little bit. You do love your mobile games. Well, I've been out of the mobile game i played one
Starting point is 00:23:46 that i played for like i don't know seven years now that's the only one i put like i used to dabble in like pen i'm not saying i spent tons of money on all of them i didn't i played free on the lot but i used to just spend so many hours a day and now i probably spend on average 20 minutes a day it's not nearly as impactful or detrimental on my day-to-day life as it got for a little while how impactful was it like my tiktok some games so like raid shadow legends take for instance like i know it's a meme but i genuinely enjoyed playing it for a little while but when you start off playing it like it kind of eases you in and then by the time you have like a high end game account there's so much stuff you
Starting point is 00:24:26 have to do like doing dailies like for i'm sure you do this for like wow and stuff yeah the amount of time you had to spend on dailies in that game it's like you had to play two to four hours a day huh and it's not like i was making content on it so it was like i was making content trying to live a life that was like okay i guess i gotta stay up for three or four hours to get my dailies done in this game so i can go to bed and like you're playing multiple games it was like i was trying to play four to six hours of mobile games a day and like i didn't even realize it had become that it was just like well i gotta do this and that was just my mindset until like one day i realized like i was like man really wish I had time to watch my football team play but I really I did my dailies it's like dude I'm impacting my life this has become worse than a
Starting point is 00:25:09 job because I'm paying to lose these hours yeah absolutely I mean that was World of Warcraft for me I was paying but to be fair I cherish some of those memories of me playing that because you know I didn't have a lot of purpose and direction in life at the time, but I put all of my potential purpose and direction into being good at WoW, and I was very good. That's fair. I don't fully regret all my time playing them, but it definitely gets to the point where they slowly just add
Starting point is 00:25:41 more and more things for you to do, and you don't really quite realize it unless you've been through it a couple of times, whereas now it's like, I'm trying to avoid new mobile games at all, because I get it. I get the pattern. They lure you in.
Starting point is 00:25:52 It's fun. It becomes more and more of like, well, okay, this is a little bit tougher. It's more of a chore. And the next thing you know, you're like, oh, man, I'd love to see my family on Christmas, but I got these dailies to do. Shut up, Mom. I got dailies. Oh, I'd love to see my family on Christmas, but I got these dailies to do. Shut up, Mom.
Starting point is 00:26:06 I got dailies. Oh, I can't believe this. They want me to buy food for them. I'll see you next year, Mom, once these dailies are done. Yeah. I mean, yeah, me too. With World of Warcraft, I would put everything aside for that because it just seemed important. Yeah, it does.
Starting point is 00:26:20 It just seemed important. So, like, you couldn't not do it. How could you not do it? Exactly. And, like, you know it. How could you not do it? Exactly. And you know it's like, well, I don't want to miss out on these resources. I don't want to miss out on like – there's just always ways of rationalizing it until it gets to the point where it's finally too much. And I think some people never quite get there. It's like, oh, be free, my children.
Starting point is 00:26:39 Please run. Yeah. I mean, and that's kind of the thing is um i always believe and this is a weird way to try to transition but at this point i do want to make is every one of us has the ability to focus and be very good at something it's just the trap is there's so many things nowadays there's so many entertaining things that we want to engage with and be good at. You know, it's a weird thing. People don't think about, like, I want to be good at TikTok or something like that. I don't want to be good at watching videos.
Starting point is 00:27:09 But it's just like you want to engage. Your brain wants to see these patterns, and your brain wants to, like, be entertained and be distracted or whatever have you. But that same level of obsession can be applied to anything in your life, anything at all. You can be obsessed and desire to succeed in pretty much anything. And when I got diagnosed with ADHD, that's pretty much all I did. I wanted to be, you know, good and successful.
Starting point is 00:27:36 I wanted to have like ambitions and drive and do all these crazy things even before I did YouTube. But it's like you had a replacement that allowed you to channel all those desires and then you got convinced like i can't do that i'm busy doing nothing like exactly what you said earlier i'm busy doing this thing that is in retrospect nothing but at the time it's like such not nothing um yeah but if any one of us like applies that kind of special, uh, quote unquote, special attention to, um, like the things that we really want to do, we'll see great results, which is why I'm, I'm really glad that you like started this episode talking about how ordinary your life is.
Starting point is 00:28:17 Um, and that's what I try to do in everything I do is like really make it clear. There's no extraordinary bed of talent that got us to where we are right now. It's definitely not. Yeah, absolutely not. Um, and if you go back and look at the earliest stuff, you're going to see that it's not good, unpolished, uh, not funny for a lot of people, but you know, it's just us having a good time and it's, it's us making stuff as best we can. Um, and it's only through the long journey, seeing where we've come instead of like only people seeing now and assuming it was always there. It is from that basis of, we want to do something. Don't even know what the goal really is. Uh, but know how to like work out the few
Starting point is 00:29:00 steps that are at the beginning of it. And to just like, keep walking from there. That's the only thing that'll get you anywhere you want to go it's just like you just keep doing stuff until eventually you find yourself where you are i still think like i love making content i don't see myself changing that but like if someone asked me what i wanted to be when i grew up now i would still be like uh i don't i don't know like what kind of content do i want to make or like you know what kind of stuff do i want when you grow up i still don't know shut up kind of content do I want to make? What kind of stuff do I want to do? When you grow up. I still don't know.
Starting point is 00:29:27 Shut up, man. I'm still young. Just because I look old, I'm still young. Didn't you just say you were begging me for the secrets of how to resurrect Walt Disney? Weren't you doing that just a little bit ago? No, that doesn't sound right. All right. But yeah, I still don't fully even know.
Starting point is 00:29:44 I fell into YouTube because I made a YouTube channel to comment on your stuff because I didn't want Wade Barnes everywhere. Because for some reason, I was terrified of people knowing my name was Wade. I was like, oh God, I better hide my name. I'm a Lord Minion. And then when we started doing Drunk Minecraft, people started subscribing. And I was like, man, I kind of feel like I need to make content for these people that are subscribing because I didn't even know if I wanted to do it. It was just kind of
Starting point is 00:30:07 like, I feel guilty. They subscribed. I've got to give them something. You were coerced. Yeah. I didn't know what to do, so I kind of emulated what you were doing. I was like, okay, horror games and I was enjoying playing Settlers of Catan, so I guess I'll record some of that. I found random crap
Starting point is 00:30:23 and just kind of stumbled my way into a career and I still don't know what the hell I'm doing. I honestly don't. I enjoy what I'm doing but do I have any idea what I'm going to be doing next month? God no. I don't have plans. Yeah.
Starting point is 00:30:39 Even me now with all the things I have to do I don't know what I'm doing next month. And I have so many deadlines to hit that need to be hit. And I still, my organizational ability is appalling. My ability to think ahead to the next day is abysmal. If people realized how by the seat of my pants I lived my they, they wouldn't understand how anything happened, but that's just how I've got here is I keep saying yes to things and I keep just doing things without ever thinking about what I'm doing already that I just somehow have to willpower my way into
Starting point is 00:31:16 getting it all done eventually. Um, and that's how I've done everything. And that's my advice to people out there. Just, uh, just, um listen, you're my friend, and I love you, and I would love to have you back in Cincinnati, but the one reason why it's kind of nice that you're not is I remember the days of, like, having a plan of any kind, and you would get the whim to film something. Like, you'd have this inspiration to film something, and you'd call me, and you're like, hey, dude, what you doing? Oh, I was getting ready to, I'm on my way to your house. What? Yeah, we're inspiration to film something and you'd be you'd call me and you're like hey dude what you doing oh i was getting ready i'm on my way to your house
Starting point is 00:31:47 what yeah we're gonna film this thing oh but like i there's like four people waiting for me at the bar no no we're gonna record oh okay like whenever you get the inspiration for things sometimes you're just like while it's in my head let's do do this. It makes you a great creator. But God, having plans around you was impossible. Yeah, I do. I don't remember ever doing that. I don't think that. There was one specific instance I remember where I was literally like I grabbed my car keys, was getting ready to leave. And you called me on your way.
Starting point is 00:32:21 I don't know if you're such a boring person. You might have just thought like Wade doesn't do anything I'm just going to go to his house I'll be there on his couch anyway you know it was like one day in particular you were just on your way I gotta admit I don't ever think about what you're doing I just assume I just assume that when you
Starting point is 00:32:38 hear the idea you're going to be so excited about it that you'll drop everything to be fair I am but uh god that's what i do to everybody i remember i remember okay so for iron lung this is a little behind the scenes we have uh an art director uh and um or the person building the sets and like you know giving all that like its style and designing it uh her name is iman. She works with Travis. So they kind of like duo the thing.
Starting point is 00:33:07 She showed up to the meeting that we had. This is before any kind of pre-production. I'm sorry. This is just the ideation, getting the team members together and talking about it conceptually. So she had never met me or anyone on this. Well, she'd met some people on the team before,
Starting point is 00:33:20 but she showed up to this coffee place where we're all just kind of talking. She thought it was an interview. Like she didn't think like she was like all right i gotta make a pitch see if i can get this job maybe it'll go well as soon as she sets in i go like all right so when you build this set i did the exact same thing i didn't care what kind of plans she had what kind of schedule existed in her mind, I just run into it. And I don't do that as a tactic or anything. I'm not doing the... No, no, no. You have zero malice. I have never felt like
Starting point is 00:33:52 you had malice. I just think you have no concept of the fact that other people exist outside of the realm of when you need them for content. And it's just like, I just think if you're here, you are ready to go. And that's how I've always operated. The only problem is because my ambition is in my, like,
Starting point is 00:34:13 you know, the skill has gotten better. So the projects I want to make are bigger. They take more time. And therefore I have the next idea when I'm in the middle of the current idea. But I, but I've, I've gotten a lot better at disciplining myself to finishing what's on my plate and weirdly enough this game has taught me more patience than anything else of just I can see that this this does take a level of discipline and cons like even whenever we're just bullshitting it's like man I don't want to miss a spot on this pillar exactly exactly and it's like the idea is't want to miss a spot on this pillar exactly exactly and it's like the idea is I could switch
Starting point is 00:34:48 to the white nozzle and just kind of like get the surface level stuff and then loop back but it takes so much longer and it's so much less satisfying than just like doing the work right now what you see in front of you watching it get clean it's methodical it's it's relaxing
Starting point is 00:35:04 it is it is weirdly nice it's work but it's it's it perfectly encapsulates how the process needs to be sometimes not even like desire not even like oh i want to do xyz i want to do you know byx i want to i want to make movies i want to make youtube videos i want to make content videos. I want to make content. It's like, yeah, that's all great and the excitement, you need that. But at the end of the day, the vast majority of making anything, movie to a YouTube video, is just this. The slow,
Starting point is 00:35:34 methodical placement of Lego bricks one at a time. I agree. Dana, get back to work. I feel like she's probably taking too much time off thinking about things while we're over here working our asses off. Uh-huh. Yeah, we're really working.
Starting point is 00:35:51 You know Dana's not editing this one. You know that, right? Well, she could. So you need to say, Lixian, Marcus, Rachel, get your asses in gear. What are you even doing with your lives? Are you busy right now? You're not anymore. We have a project for you. I want to pick i did this once f yeah but are you on it uh yes i'm on it oh maybe that's why i can't please don't move it
Starting point is 00:36:17 come on i need this i'm cleaning at the moment i I'm getting the roof here. What were we talking about? I forget. I don't remember. Yeah, I don't either. Anyway, what is your, what do you think? Hold on. This needs some concentration. I might play this in my free time.
Starting point is 00:36:57 I play this in my free time all the time. Not joking. It's a perfect stream game, too, because you can just like you just clean and you can talk. It's that's why this podcast works so well. And that's why I kind of feel bad about not doing more because it is just like an extremely satisfying and good vehicle just to have a conversation. Also, it reminds me like my sidewalk, my driveway need to be power washed. This really makes me want to go ahead and rent like a power washer and just get it done. Dude, do it.
Starting point is 00:37:22 Ryobi makes, and I'm sure other people, and I'm not sponsored by Ryobi or anything, but they make a battery-powered power washer. It is very nice. It's not as powerful as, say, a non-battery-powered one. Gas one? Oh, I guess they would make a gas one. Dude, you got to get off the gas power tool train. Bad for the world.
Starting point is 00:37:45 That's why I'm not having kids. Fuck the world. I'm not leaving any legacy behind. They're not gonna suffer. It's just those idiots who want to be parents. They're the ones who gotta deal with it. Bob, poor little James, I'm gonna destroy your earth.
Starting point is 00:37:58 Okay, alright. Not really. Well, this is, you know, you have the stage. I can't control what you say, so if you want to. Oh, cool. You know, I don't want to leave a, what is it called, a blueprint, a footprint? I don't want to leave a blue footprint.
Starting point is 00:38:14 Yep, okay. I try my best not to. Also, I took the big nozzle-y off this thing thinking I could do the window, but, like, I couldn't do the window. I got to, yeah, you don't do the window. I gotta... Yeah, you don't need this anymore. I don't know what you're talking about. I have a plan, and it's just not working.
Starting point is 00:38:31 Oh, God. All right. Well, that's nice. So, all right, let's get into some real talk. You said that, jokingly, like, fuck the world and go and, like... Definitely jokingly. I want to be clear. Uh-huh. But clear but let's you know let's talk about that
Starting point is 00:38:48 because the world's in a tumultuous place at the moment the future you know especially of like we've talked about it casually of like and jokingly about like AI destroying the ability to have content creation stuff like that but there is a reality where we might and
Starting point is 00:39:04 you know in the next 20 or so years we might be at the end of uh kind of like this content no i'm not i'm talking about content creation artistic expression um as a whole i don't think won't be stifled. But at the same time, it's like, this, what we do here, as like making shit like this as a job, it might come to an end and be just kind of this blip in human history where it was possible to do stuff like this before computers got so good
Starting point is 00:39:39 or these AI models got good enough to replicate what we do in a way that's better than people like pursuing stuff like this and this could be a niche thing it may not be always forever um but also in general like it's kind of is a thing where the the serious problems of the world are sometimes overshadowed by the desire to be distracted by entertainment and therefore real issues can be swept under the rug because of people's uh hopefulness to ignore it and that can lead to like kind of like forgetting about the problems of the past and forgetting them like
Starting point is 00:40:10 in the same way of distracting by playing mobile games or or playing world of warcraft it's good to have distractions sometimes but the realities of the world are not going to go away and then like they are harsh and they are sometimes violent and they're sometimes you know devastating and and you know we being content creators uh i think there is a good purpose to having entertainment for distractions but at what point does it become kind of ignorance you know i mean that was a that was a long-winded way of saying like what i was trying to say the when does distraction become ignorance? I love it.
Starting point is 00:40:46 I love this topic while we're cleaning Squidward's house at Bikini Bottom. I think it already is to some extent, right? Like, I think even I'm guilty of it. I 100% am a person who, like, whenever I'm stressed out, it's like I'll pop on a YouTube video or I'll pop onto a video game or I'll, you know, just chat about sports or whatever else. It's like, I don't have the answers unless I need to get the answers for something. Like if I'm going to vote on something, I try to do some research or if I'm going to talk about something, I try to have a little bit of an idea what I'm talking about. But like, unless it falls into one of those categories, a lot of times, if it's something I don't think I can do anything about
Starting point is 00:41:21 or whatever, instead of learning or getting involved, it's like I've got enough going on right now. I've got family stuff going on. There's always something going on in the content creator world that's stressful. I feel like every year there's a Twitch or YouTube or Mixer or Facebook or something major
Starting point is 00:41:40 thing going on. You've got to keep up with it. It was for a time. Yeah. Every year there's some big event in our career field we got to kind of keep tabs on so yeah what's going on with that technology stuff there's always stuff going on and it's like my brain can only deal with so much because in order to make content i feel like i'm not put into a bad mindset very easily i'm very lucky that like i don't deal with anxiety and i'm usually pretty good but there's still days where like you know life's getting to you. And if I'm going to make content, it's like I've got to be in a decent headspace to do it. So I will intentionally, rather than
Starting point is 00:42:14 look into issues, I will intentionally go for ignorance. It's like, okay, well, I'm just going to not look at that, worry about that. I'm going to worry about what I can control right now and do this. And there's some really important issues that i've probably done that too over the years that i shouldn't have that i should probably have done more research into or look to see if i could help or you know go to a protest rally or go do this or go do that and it's just like i can only do so much in my time and i try to prioritize but there's definitely things that have been shuffled under the rug and i go i intentionally dive headfirst into ignorance rather than looking for solutions or getting involved in things that probably could help with absolutely i want you to
Starting point is 00:42:49 see something really cool all right my boy did you see it no i oh yeah what hold on oh well please tell me this is the only one that has. We don't have to go in their houses, right? Who knows? Probably the only one. And probably the last part of it. Yeah, but to what you were saying, it is a quandary. Because I think that what people need to and may never really fully understand is that one person cannot comprehend all the problems in the world. One person cannot comprehend all the problems in the world.
Starting point is 00:43:33 You pick and choose the causes that you can care about because we as humans were never meant really to know as many people or be aware of as many lives as we currently are. And I'm talking about like in the in the grand scheme of the Internet, there's like humans throughout all of our development was just like we had communities of maybe 100 people. And that would that's a lot of people. And it was kind of a situation where you had to deal with these people even if you didn't like them like having people that you don't like was kind of part of life um you just kind of gotta deal with them um whereas nowadays you know you've got so many people and you know a lot of them you don't like a lot of them don't like you. And it's active, it's active hate and antagonistic behaviors that exist in these circles. And it's just like something that most people just aren't prepared for or shouldn't expect to be prepared for because it wasn't it wasn't part of the plan. a point at which ignorance does like cause problems where like willful ignorance can lead to a kind of exacerbation of problems that you know will compound unless someone does something
Starting point is 00:44:32 and the desire to hide from the problems is never going to make them go away but it's a balance right there's a balance between having that responsibility and and feeling like the responsibility of being part of society and you know the species in general and uh kind of like carrying on what like what it will be in the future but you got to pick your battles most of my battles is just like i want to hopefully hopefully by the end of my life serve as some kind of an inspiration and showcasing that like i am not from extraordinary beginnings but i still could make what was in my mind become a reality and that that in essence is kind of like the base human experience we imagine something and and we can bring it into being i feel like that
Starting point is 00:45:19 as much as people want to debate free will and stuff, it is a very special circumstance where we can have something that does not exist in our mind. We imagine it and we can make that thought a reality. And that is such a unique ability to exert, not control the universe, but make something exist that never was going to be. And I think that's a very special thing. And that expands into so many different things. So in a weird way, I'm not saying like I'm changing the world with what I do, something exists that never was going to be. Um, and I think that's a very special thing and that
Starting point is 00:45:45 expands into so many different things. So in a weird way, I'm not saying like I'm changing the world with what I do, but I do want to showcase to everybody that that is the fundamental, that's the one plus one of the human experience, right? Thought into action, thought into being that is the basis of kind of like where you can find your part in everything um i think that's important i think it's also important for people to acknowledge that i think it's a lot harder to exist without that external pressure or stress maybe maybe not for the average person but at least for creators like if you go on social media much which i try to avoid a lot nowadays um i've had a lot going on this year i don't want to go into all of it some of its personal stuff
Starting point is 00:46:31 with like family members and things but like it's been a it's been a challenging year between moving and dealing with stuff and uh sometimes like you said you got to kind of pick and choose uh what you have the ability to focus on sometimes it's not even up to you it's just like life has thrown you so many curveballs that you just cannot focus on things outside of your immediate circle or whatever just because it's so big but not everyone knows that or even thinks about that and sometimes there's like social media pressure at least for creators i imagine for everyone where it's like if you're not saying anything about this issue this happens every time there's an issue if you're not saying about this
Starting point is 00:47:08 issue you're part of the problem people like tag you and stuff and it does make you feel guilty but it's like people need to understand that they don't know the whole picture for each person's life so like i'm not saying like you know the average person can ever criticize a celebrity thing like that because you certainly can but But I think you always need to be aware that you can take a step back and that it's okay not to involve yourself in everything and you don't need to feel guilt about it. Certainly there's times where you should step in
Starting point is 00:47:34 where you can, but if you can't, don't beat yourself up about it. Also, what is this panel? Bottom of the list. Right over there, by the door. This one? Yep. There you go. All right, and that's it. bottom of the list right over there by the door this one yep there you go alright and that's it
Starting point is 00:47:49 oh just like that yep it's over oh I was just we were just hitting our stride yeah well it's over oh um do I call it ride. Yeah, well, it's over. Oh, um,
Starting point is 00:48:07 do I call a cab? I don't care what you do. Oh, you don't care about the commerce? Nothing? It's done. Yeah, it ends when we're done cleaning. Well, um, been fun. Thanks for cleaning with me. Nope, none of that.
Starting point is 00:48:24 Oh. Press escape. You can see a time lapse. Been fun. Thanks for cleaning with me. Nope. None of that. Oh. Press escape. You can see a time lapse. Oh, okay. I'm going to start walking away. Where does one do that? Escape. I hit that and I just see a bunch of money.
Starting point is 00:48:43 View session details. I guess you don't get to see it, so just keep walking. See ya. See ya. No. Okay. Taxi! Do I run stupid just like you?
Starting point is 00:49:06 Yeah, you pop out your chest, pull your head back, and just... Alright, get ready for more Power Wash, pals. Gonna be a lot more of it coming soon. Check out Wade, LordMinion777. Minion777. We didn't talk about everything, and we probably never will. Have a good day.
Starting point is 00:49:24 Is this on the podcast? What? Is this on the podcast? No. Oh. Never mind. All right, goodbye.
