Starting point is 00:00:30 Lisa, tell them about our new show. We have a new podcast. It's called Don't Lie to Me. I'm Lexi Youanu. We're two best friends, 22 years apart, but so close at heart. And I'm Lisa Di Giulio, the old one, which means we have wildly different references, occasionally different opinions. And at this point in my 50s, I've lived it all. Now in my 30s, being the founder of new shoes, good taste is my business.
Starting point is 00:00:54 Listen on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. In February of 2024, celebrated illustrator and children's book author Patra Mathers and her husband Michael mailed letters to dozens of friends and family members to let them know they had died by suicide. Dear honies, this is goodbye. By the time you get this letter, both Petra and I will be dead. Next stop, Wonderland. Why did they do it? And what did it do to the people they left behind? Listen to death of an artist on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:01:31 They finish with the second best record in all of baseball. You have the home field advantage against everybody but the brewers this October. Welcome to this special Sunday episode of Dodgers Territory. We are live. We are brand new. The last regular season game. We made it 162 of 162. Of course, it had to go into extras.
Starting point is 00:02:10 That is very apropos. Clint Paceas, along. No, no Rizzo. Obviously, Katie Wu is in the Dodgers Clubhouse right now, getting all the goods for her pieces in the athletic. Great to be with you guys. Get your comments into our chat. We want to hear what you have to say about this regular season and this game in general. Let's get into it, though. Game 162 of 162. It was a good one. It was a tight one. The Dodgers, though, Clint got win number 100. Not sure if that's good. Not sure if that's bad based on recent history. but we'll take the win. We'll take it as a positive. Yeah, six time in 11 seasons with Dave Roberts at the helm.
Starting point is 00:02:50 They finish with the second best record in all of baseball. You have the home field advantage against everybody but the brewers this October. Also, like you mentioned, or kind of mentioned around there, first time winning 100 games since 2023. We know that wasn't a fun year. 22 wasn't a fun year. 21 wasn't necessarily a fun year. But it doesn't matter.
Starting point is 00:03:11 This is a different team. They're built different. And we're going to talk more about this game with On Deck, presented by Fox 1. Your Dodgers finished the month of September with an 18 and 7 record. That is pretty good. Let's get some numbers and things on the screen. 5-1 is your final. Alana, the offense didn't do much of anything for a while until the extra any.
Starting point is 00:03:40 Yeah, you're right. I mean, there were 0 for 8 with runners in scoring position in regulation, meaning in the first nine innings of course. They left 10 on base. So they basically left a village on base. But Andy Pahez, welcome back, got activated not that long ago. Dave Roberts said he's got to get as many at-bats as possible in the limited time that the Dodgers had before the regular season ended and the postseason began. He got it done. That three-run, home run that gave them the five-to-one lead, obviously.
Starting point is 00:04:07 Alex Call, happy birthday to you, sir. Puts the Dodgers ahead with an RBI double to score that ghost runner in terms of McGee Row. after the intentional walk of Max Muncie. So good on Andy Pahas. He had a really, really good game, and you like to see him be able to get his timing and his rhythm down. And he was the difference maker in game 162 and extras. Yeah, yeah, and four ribbies on the day with the sack fly earlier in the game.
Starting point is 00:04:32 And, you know, like you mentioned, there, not a whole lot to ride home about offensively from this team. Kind of, you know, continuing sort of a theme we have seen a lot over the last few days here. some people will say it's because Josue de Paula isn't here. We are not saying that. It's just, you know, sometimes offense comes and goes. But the Dodgers sweep the Giants,
Starting point is 00:04:53 as people are also pointing out in the chat. And you had to sweep to get to 100 wins. You see the Paix there, a mookie with the Homer yesterday. But Andy Paix has having himself a nice series, an important series. And like you mentioned, coming back from the injury,
Starting point is 00:05:09 this guy leads the team and runs batted in, despite missing, you know, a month with that broken hand. This is an X factor. This is like a lynchpin in this Dodgers offensive attack. Yeah, well, tied with Shohei Otani in terms of RBI for the team. Passed him out. Yeah, no, no, I was, you didn't let me finish. Sorry, I pulled in a lot.
Starting point is 00:05:32 He was tied with Shohei Otani until that homer. Now he passed him. And think about the time that both of these guys obviously have missed on the I.L. But I don't know that I would have thought that it would be Andy Pahez. in terms of the RBI leaders for the Los Angeles Dodgers, when you have the likes of the Mookie Beetz and the Freddie Freeman's and the Shohei Otanis and the Max Muncie's, and the only thing I wish that would have happened in this game
Starting point is 00:05:55 is for Max to be able to get another home run, right? That would have given him 30, which would have been 5, 30 or more home run seasons for Maxwell Muncie as a Dodger. But Andy Paa has been unbelievably productive. And what an amazing performance and season that that kid has had over the course of the game. Let's talk a little bit more before we get into it,
Starting point is 00:06:17 even more into the Andy Pahas situation and Shoah, the swing and miss and all of that. Dodger pitching. I mean, this was a bullpen game, right? Final tune up for the guys, Jack Dreyer making his final case to make the postseason roster. Clint, did you see enough from him? What's your opinion on whether or not J.D. makes it or not? I think with Dreyer, he's one of those guys. He's pitched well enough.
Starting point is 00:06:39 He has earned a spot on most postseason. rosters, I wouldn't be surprised if he is one of those guys that could end up as the odd man out, as Dave has said, they might end up running with one more position player, particularly in the earlier rounds there. Dodgers play a week from yesterday, again, with the start of the National League Division series, we'll talk more about that in a little bit. So if you are looking to maybe have both Hoseway DePaula and, you know, Hesong Kim on your active roster in October. Jack Dreyer could be one of those guys. And when you look at the work after him,
Starting point is 00:07:19 I know we're going to get the Justin Rebleski next. Robo looked really good today. He had the heat. He saw the conviction, a little bit different look to the delivery for Rebleski. I think, you know, he's definitely trying to get something on those fastballs. And you saw a few, there's one strikeout. He just missed dotting, you know, the lower. part of the strike zone came right back with the same exact pitch. I forget who he strikes out, but he looked he looked nasty tonight or this afternoon. Two innings, two hits, three Ks. Like if I'm looking at Rebleski as somebody who can give you, you know, two or three
Starting point is 00:08:00 innings versus the one from Jack Dreyer, even though he went two today, I'm probably, if I'm Dave leaning that way. Again, if it's one of these guys, I might lean Roblesky. I lean Rebleski based on the full body of work. Eileen Rebleski based on how he's performed since coming off of the IL, I lean on Rebleski based on what he did over the course of the season to make him a All-Star. That's where I'm going with him.
Starting point is 00:08:29 I know you guys are saying my audio sounds weird. I apologize. I think I'm all connected the way I'm supposed to be. So maybe it's just my voice. I don't know what's going on, but I do apologize. I'll keep working on it a little bit. I'm on where I'm supposed to be, so I apologize for Hard Rock Bet Casino app is here, Ontario.

Starting point is 00:09:24 but so close at heart. And I'm Lisa Di Giulio, the old one, which means we have wildly different references, occasionally different opinions, and at this point in my 50s, I've lived it all. I'm not going to get any of your fighting.

If men were just honest about this, they would be so much more peace in the world. We're going to talk about dating, relationships, beauty, getting older, and a little wiser. We're best friends, but we don't always agree.
Starting point is 00:10:01 Because you told us how accommodating you are. Obviously I would do what I think I could do to fight the fight, but there's only so much fight I can fight. Don't lie to me. lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Lyer. Listen on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Listen to NFL Pro on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. But let's, continuing our bullpen talk here, fifth inning, Roki Sasaki, one inning, two, K's second of back-to-back appearances. This is where I like him at this point in the year. Clint, you don't necessarily need him for the starting rotation. We know that Roki Sasaki has had success coming out of the bullpen in games that matter the most, that being the postseason. I'm okay where he's at right now.
Starting point is 00:12:04 I appreciate the fact that he's had that experience before. I think the conversation is such that it's not that big of a deal. deal anymore. And it's like at this point, where can we put the best 26 guys, however you want to split it up between position players and pitchers? I like what Roki did today. And I'm fine with him coming out of the pen. Yeah, I mean, this is a big weapon potentially for Dave. Come October, you know, Roki coming back was insistent on pitching in relief because he knew that was going to be his role for this team. The second of back to back today, looks ready for October for me, you know, inning, a couple of punch he's in there.
Starting point is 00:12:42 He's got the VLO. They mentioned in the broadcast, like, hey, you're throwing kind of a meaningless inning here in games 162 against a really bad Giants team. And he's still, you know, hitting 99 on the fastball. So, yeah, I really like the way this bullpen is shaping up. Somebody is also pointing out in the chat, like, where is Emmett Sheehan? Well, he just pitched, you know, for AAA, won, they won the PCL, championship last night.
Starting point is 00:13:12 Yeah, cool. Him throwing to my boy Ben Roartvet. But he's another guy who's going to be in the mix for this bullpen come October because he was fantastic for the big league team here in the month of September and all that. So those guys killing it. And we talked last time earlier this week about Edwin Diaz, Dias, kind of working. I think he looks great.
Starting point is 00:13:37 You know, we talked about it on Thursday, the 3rd. three of us did a one, two, three inning. He had the one punch out, continues to look better. The velocity is there. Katie Wu talked about it after she had a conversation with him. The confidence is back and the confidence has led to the production, right? It's not like he's very, it's not like he is timid. It feels more likely that he will be on that postseason roster, perhaps not in the ninth inning. I don't know. Although what I've seen from him, the last four outings that he has had, I'm okay with putting him back there until he proves he can't do it. I really like what I've seen from him so far. And his last five appearances, look at what he's done.
Starting point is 00:14:18 Knock on my head. He hasn't given up in run runs. And five innings and nine k's, I'll take that. I don't, you know, you don't like the walk, but one walk in five innings, okay. Anyway, I like what I've seen from him. He seems like he's taken the next step. He doesn't seem pensive anymore. He seems very convicted in what he's doing. And, And the production seems to be, the location seems to be there, the velocity, I'm fine with it. He looks better, certainly. Yeah. Yeah, no, again, I think he is going to end up on the postseason roster, if not for anything else.
Starting point is 00:14:49 Obviously, he's looked better since coming off the aisle. But you paid a lot of money for this, dude. He has a wealth of experience, maybe, you know, not as much postseason experience as some of these, you know, other Dodgers options. But you pay a lot for a reason. He is one of the better closers in. baseball when he is healthy. Does not mean he's going to be closing baseball games for the Dodgers, but if he is a ninth inning option for Dave, the more the merrier when he's looking like he's looking
Starting point is 00:15:17 right now. We'll rapid fire the last few guys. We know two names are going to be on that postseason bullpen with Evan Phillips earning the save in this one, Alex Vescia, pitching a clean ninth to earn the win. But how about Bobby Miller? The roller coaster will most likely not be on the postseason roster, but a roller coaster of an appearance there, gets into some traffic in the eighth inning, sorry, in the seventh inning, finds his way out of it. We think he gives up a homer in the eighth inning, and they're
Starting point is 00:15:44 like, hold on, hold on. Fow ball, foul ball. Interesting appearance for Bobby Miller, but what I like out of the kid, you know, we've, we've said for a while now, it's a head situation for him, showed some poise. Robert, good job. I mean, I don't see him on the postseason roster, but what I would say about him is that he is a piece to the bigger part of this puzzle right again it takes i've said this at length many times it takes way more than the 26 or the 28 when you have the two september callups it takes the 40 man roster and then some and bobby miller is not a 26 guy uh player he's not a mainstay he's not an everyday guy but he is somebody that in these types of situations where you needed some length you needed an arm you needed a healthy you know a healthy arm that could go out there and
Starting point is 00:16:31 give you some innings. That's exactly what he has served in terms of this season for the Dodgers. What does this mean for him for the postseason? Don't think he makes it. What does it mean for him in the future with the Dodgers? I'm not sure. But the point is he did what he needed to do in his last few appearances since they recalled him from AAA. And that's exactly what they needed. And he did the job. Again, not on the postseason roster. You know, the two scoreless innings in the eighth inning. He worked for it, but he got it. He allowed Alex Vescia to come in in the ninth. Do I think Alex Vescia is our closer? I do not. But, you know, then Evan Phillips comes in and gets the job done, and that is it. But that's what you need at this time of year when you're just trying to finish this
Starting point is 00:17:13 day, take a couple days off and then start the first round of the NLDS. Good job by him. He got the job done in terms of what his role has been this season. A quick follow on this too. I'm loving the chat. We're going to get, we got super chats in here. We got a lot of people. hanging out with us on our impromptu Sunday show. We appreciate you guys. We are going to get to people. But I liked Saipong in the chat says, how about hungover Miller? It's worth noting. He was a part of that championship last night. I don't know if he pitched in that game. But he definitely participated in the party and them boys partied hard. You see video of Hessan Kim sliding through champagne and beer in the clubhouse there. Chuck 2200 saying Bobby Miller
Starting point is 00:17:58 is garbage every appearance. Listen, if garbage is two scoreless innings, yeah, he worked for him, but I'll take that kind of garbage. Like, that just tells you where the floor of the Dodgers is. And yeah, is he a guy you want to taking down meaningful, big innings in October? Absolutely not. But he's not going to be. Yeah, exactly. Pitching in game 162, bullpen game 162, final tune-up for everybody, just survive and don't hurt your.
Starting point is 00:18:28 self. He gave the Dodgers exactly what he needed, what they needed. 100%. Yeah. 100%. Hey, why don't we tell the people about the Fox One? Again, it's free to subscribe and it helps us so tremendously. We appreciate it very much. You have no idea. Just take a minute. I mean, if you're listening to us anyway, just please subscribe. It helps us out a lot. All right, let's take a look at the playoff picture. Before we do that, though, I want to go back and talk a little bit about the offense. So show hey, Otani. I mean, that has to be something we talk about, right? He's a multi-time World Series winner for sure, but he's also a multi-time.
Starting point is 00:19:58 I'm MVP, and he just doesn't look MVP-ish. I know he's not getting it this year. I know PTA is because of the time that has been missed and all of the things. But he's just five for 21 since his return. And this is a guy that's constantly under a microscope because to whom much is given, much is expected, and he is the best player in the game. He's the face of the sport. What is your level, if at all, of concern when it comes to Shohay?
Starting point is 00:20:24 It's tough. We know we need to see a little bit more out of Shoeh. tell you as much. It hasn't been fantastic, but he's taken better at bat since coming back from the injury. I think he's just, he's missing it a little bit. Obviously, missed a couple of weeks, probably got himself into some bad habits with the injuries, with the bicep, with the knee, and all that kind of stuff. So you're trying to battle through that. You're playing rehab games at the major league level, essentially. So am I worried about Shohayotani when we get to October? Absolutely not. I think he steps up. I think he will have more than his fair share of big moments there. And the
Starting point is 00:21:05 good thing is, as we've seen with this offense, yeah, it was a little laxadaisical at times. But today, in this one, you had a lot of different people contributing a lot, including, how about Tommy Edmund getting hotter at the right time, a couple of knocks, back-to-back games, and multi-hits. Yeah, you know, and that's a guy that you love to have on there because you know he can play in a variety of positions. You know he can hit the baseball. You know, you know he can use all fields. He's, you know, he's a good defensive player. I'll take Tommy Edmund healthy. Kind of is that like, we always talk about the utility player and the versatility. Guys love when you can play a bazillion positions on the field and the Dodgers are known for that. So yeah, he looks great. I appreciate
Starting point is 00:21:45 that very much with Tommy Edmund. Two hits back-to-back multi-hit games, as you mentioned. But it also reminds me of a utility player and a guy that I have a ton of. love for, obviously, and that is Miguel Rojas. It is time to give McGee Roe some love because this is his last, I mean, unless the Dodgers asked for him to come back and unless he chooses to come back, I think he wants to, but whatever. His last regular season game for the Dodgers doesn't really seem like he wants to retire. But the thing is with him, at least he's going out on his own terms. And another impactful game from McGee Road today.
Starting point is 00:22:20 I love it. Yeah, and I'm interested in getting people's thoughts in the chat about Miguel Rojas, because we heard him there in the first inning kind of an impromptu guest spot there with Nellie and Bulldog. And he seemed like he really was holding himself back from saying, I want to keep playing. He knows maybe he made a mistake earlier in the season, or I think he feels maybe he made a mistake earlier in the season, like, yeah, I'm going to retire. he's since backtracked that a few times but really what it's going to come down to it's as he said the only team he's going to play for is the los angeles dodgers so it's do the dodgers need miguel rohousson 2027 what does 2027 look like all that kind of stuff we know there are other guys pounding down the door waiting to get that roster spot Alex freeland would love to be up
Starting point is 00:23:13 you know for 162 maybe somebody like a Hessan kim but miggy roe he has big moments in him he's a great defender, but most importantly, his biggest role, his most important role for this team is being a guy that is a dude in that clubhouse, bridging the gap between old and new, young and old. I say old. I mean, like initially, older players that have been there, new players coming in, younger players, players being traded, all this kind of stuff. He mentioned, you know, kind of emotionally taking his tequila shots, all that kind of stuff. I think
Starting point is 00:23:51 there's a lot of emotion in what he was saying and eventually you know you get to get through a World Series you get that third ring with the team he'll probably feel content
Starting point is 00:24:01 to hang him up but I think this could feel a lot like a Justin Turner situation where maybe Miggie Row wants to come back but I don't I think the Dodgers are ready
Starting point is 00:24:11 to move on to the next player the next person a younger body on that bench interested in your thoughts on that though I just think that no matter what happens whether he comes back as a player, which to your point, I'm doubtful that they bring him back because they just have a lot of guys coming up through the
Starting point is 00:24:28 pike that are kind of that utility guy, not to the same leadership role. I mean, he has a leadership style that really cannot be quantified. But what I do think is that he will have, he will serve in some capacity, whether it's a special assistant to something or other, an assistant coach or whatever the heck it is. He will be involved in the Dodgers organization in some form or fashion. But it's always weird when you start to think about, oh my gosh, this is the last time I'm going to do this. This is the last time I'm going to drive into the parking lot in the regular season. This is the last time I'm going to play the Giants for the last game of the year. This is, you know, obviously he's fortunate that the Dodgers will go home. They will start the
Starting point is 00:25:08 postseason at home. So there's still, that part of it is not done. But think about, like I think about other players like Kirby Yates who announced his retirement today after what I believe is 11 or 12 seasons. Kyle Freeland, who was the ace for the Colorado Rockies for a very long time, who likely is not back with the Rockies as a Colorado kid spent his entire career with the Rockies. He's done. You know, like that's just a weird feeling. Like I even remember when I made the decision, which was a very difficult decision to leave the Dodgers and that job and come to Massachusetts, it was heart-wrenching. And you start thinking about all of the I'm not going to be able to do this again.
Starting point is 00:25:45 And this is the last time I'll see this person and all of the things. So it's a very emotional time. He will always be beloved. He will always be considered a World Series hero. He will always be welcomed at Dodger Stadium and with that organization. But it'll be a different situation for him because he won't necessarily be a player anymore. So, yeah, it's weird. It's an emotional time.
Starting point is 00:26:08 But he, again, did it on his terms. And he's very well respected. and he will always be welcomed with open arms. This record is on. Miley is having a moment. New name, new album, and two exclusive shows. So IHart Radio is sending you to experience it all.

If men were just honest about this, there would be so much more peace in the world. We're going to talk about dating, relationships, beauty, getting older, and a little wiser. We're best friends, but we don't always agree. Because you told us how accommodating you are.
Starting point is 00:27:36 Obviously, I would do what I think I could do to fight the fight, but there's only so much fight I can fight. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Don't lie to me. Liar. Listen on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Starting point is 00:27:54 I don't really care. I'm Brett Coleman. And I'm Trevor Sycamma. Have you ever watched a game and wondered what really made the difference beyond the final score? That's exactly why we created NFL Pro. Got a man wide open. Touched out! Seahawks!

We go beyond the box score to uncover the numbers, the tendencies, and details that help explain what actually happened on the field. Fires it out in the flat to Barclay, who beats one man, spins past another, leaps over at third. And don't worry, this isn't just a show for stats experts. We use advanced analytics to help tell the story behind the game, turning the numbers into insights that every fan can understand and enjoy. So whether you're a casual fan learning more about football or a hardcore fan who can't get
Starting point is 00:28:51 enough analysis, our goal is to help you see the game in a whole new way. If you've ever wanted to know why a playwork, how a matchup was won, or what most fans missed on Sunday, NFL Pro delivers insights you simply can't get anywhere else. Listen to NFL Pro on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Yeah, we got actually, again, we said we're going to get to Super Chats. J. Day, L.A. just dropped a perfect one piggybacking off of what you were saying there. $10 super chat. Thank you very much.
Starting point is 00:29:24 Jay Day saying thank you for another great regular season of coverage. Alana, I was so sad when you left us in L.A. It's great to hear you often. Unfiltered, of course, that's what we do here on DT. Clint, Katie, also great perspective on this team. But yeah. Thank you. Yeah, that was a day, I still remember, obviously, you know, my job at the time was reporting on anything.
Starting point is 00:29:44 Rogers related and you know you didn't you took your off season to make that decision to come back. So that was definitely a shocker to to all of us that watch this team. But hey, we got you here. And that's what's most important. What is more important, we'll say, is that the Dodgers are playing in the postseason again. We've, we now have more of an idea of who their opponents will be. I'm going to get to more of the super chats here just because it makes a lot of sense where People are saying,
Starting point is 00:30:15 the Enigma with 499 helping us out here. So 100 wins after everything we've been through the season is such an accomplishment. And a credit to how great this team is, we are, this team is props to the boys in blue. We appreciate that from the enigma. I appreciate Stephen as well. $20 on the super chat saying, thank you, D.T. I enjoy your reporting and show throughout the season. Now let's three pete.
Starting point is 00:30:41 Let's go. Nancy Brown also with the $2. And I know I'm an upset Richie because I'm saving him for later in the show when we circle back. We appreciate everybody. Yeah, it is the repeat season. And now we know the first kind of hurdle for the Dodgers will be the winner of Phillies and the Braves. You got an NL East matchup in the NL Wildcard. One of those NL WildC?
Starting point is 00:31:06 I think it's what, Wildcard 2? Phillies, I mean, did you see that? that I wouldn't call it a meme, but there's a lady who was running a marathon and she got to the end of it with diarrhea all down her legs. That's what the Phillies did. I tell you what, they did. They did. It was, it was gross. And I tell you what, somebody else, it is, it is absolutely pouring on the East Coast.
Starting point is 00:31:27 Like we've had a Nor'Easter on the East Coast, which if you guys don't know what that is. It's basically torrential rain, like a deluge, if you will, and unbelievably high winds. Like, kind of like the Santa Ana wins in California. But it's like crazy rain and crazy winds, normally in the, the winter, it's like a massive snowstorm, but somebody was saying that the Phillies could throw their bats in the air and would not hit rain. Like they have, they're limping into this, right? And they've used their bullpens trashed, like they're not hitting. So again, my guess if you're like a betting person, like you would, you'd probably take Atlanta just based on fatigue and those
Starting point is 00:32:05 types of things. But that's going to be a tough series. Obviously, as you mentioned, it is an NL East battle. And even Don Maddingly said, you just have to get in. And he said, we're effing in. You just have to get in. And that's exactly what the Phillies did. Because the Phillies won, the Diamondbacks are eliminated from postseason contention. So the brackets, guys, everything is set as far as the postseason is concerned.
Starting point is 00:32:29 Tell us what you think. Tell us in the chat. Who do you think you'd rather play? Would you rather play the Phillies who have really like come through the back door, scuffled and kind of limp their way into the postseason, or would you rather play the Braves? What's your thought in terms of that, Clint? Who do you want? Or does it matter?
Starting point is 00:32:48 It doesn't matter. It really doesn't matter to me. I mean, any team you face in the postseason is going to be good. We know this much. And people are going to say, oh, yeah, you know, you don't want to play the Padres. They've been hot. You know, Braves usually play the Dodgers well. The Phillies, maybe less so on the playing them well, but they got a lot of talent in that
Starting point is 00:33:06 clubhouse. I still maintain the only team that could beat the Dodgers is the Dodgers this postseason, and that is just a fact. And on the AL side, like, yeah, the Rays, they are very good team, obviously, in terms of their ability to put together a roster that 198 games and, you know, I think barely cracked the $130 million in payroll or whatever. I don't even know what their payroll is. But yeah, the Phillies, you know, Christopher Sanchez hasn't been as locked in. They don't have Jesus Lazzardo looking at that. But you can say the same with the Braves. They don't have a lot of starting pitching right now either.
Starting point is 00:33:38 I think they are down. They have Chris Sale. Obviously, there's your game one. That's scary. But maybe he's, you know, you got to use him early. Who would they throw out there in game one against Dodgers in an NLDS? So I think the Dodgers are in a prime position. And obviously we'll talk more about that this week.
Starting point is 00:33:54 We'll be live tomorrow with I probably maybe will be here. But if not you, Katie, will have us covered on all things, end of the season and into the postseason. Probably. Probably maybe doesn't make sense. It's either probably... Well, I'm not going to pull the magic. I'm not going to say, I ain't going to be here, because I might be here. So probably maybe won't.
Starting point is 00:34:16 But, you know, that's good enough. People know what I'm saying there. I think both the Phillies and the Braves hope to God that it's a two-game series. They desperately want a two-game series. So they can rest a little bit and then reset with whomever is left to face the Dodgers. To face the Dodgers in that first round. of the NLDS. Yeah, and, you know, obviously, again, I feel pretty strongly about the Dodgers making it to the NLCS.
Starting point is 00:34:45 I think the NLDS is a bit of a formality. Hopefully that doesn't come back to bite me. But I was looking with our friends over at Kalshi, looking at the pennant situation for the Dodgers. Like, what are the Dodgers trading at on Kalshi to win the pennant? 42%. This was earlier. 42% they're trading out. It's far and away the favorite.
Starting point is 00:35:08 The Braves are... That has to be, right? That has to be like the favorite, by far. Yeah, brewers are up there at 27%. And, of course, they have more wins in the Dodgers. I think they finish it in 103 Padres at 15%. So it's 42% versus the field on the National League side when it comes to the Dodgers trading here on Cal She.
Starting point is 00:35:26 So if you were to actually drop, I think, a $25 trade pays $5719. So obviously, you're not going to make a lot if you're... putting any sort of wagers or any sort of trades on the Dodgers, I should be saying, but I'll let people know, Kalshi, of course, it is a peer-to-peer trading. It's not a sportsbook, it is all peer-to-peer trading. You're trading directly against other users. It's not like the house with traditional sports books. They're going to be hanging out with us here all through the postseason.
Starting point is 00:35:54 The price moves based on where money goes, and public opinion sets the line, and they offer a lot more than just sports. But check this out. You do get a cool bonus. interested in trying out, Kalshi, download the app, scan that QR code, click the link in description, use code baseball, you get $55 added automatically, instantly to your account. Thank you, Kalshi, for hanging out with us throughout the postseason. But yeah, I'm ready for postseason play, Riz. I'm ready for the Dodgers to take it to anybody and everybody.
Starting point is 00:36:26 Dodgers in three, and then Dodgers in four. I mean, all you need is 11 more, right? 11 more wins. That's it. This is the best time of year. I always like the jockeying for position as far as the final wild card teams to get in there and that type of thing. So I can appreciate that. But October baseball, there's nothing like it. I love the fact that we know that we have a couple days off. That's the common conversation of rest versus rest.
Starting point is 00:36:51 But we are so thankful. All right, we are thankful. And so lucky that we have this team that we know is going to be in the postseason every year. Right. This is this time right now, beginning on Saturday, a week from yesterday, this time. of year is what the Dodgers were built for. So every single thing that has happened in the series of 162, everything that happened in spring training,
Starting point is 00:37:12 all of the moves that Dave Roberts, Andrew Friedman, Brandon Gomes, all of the things have made over the course of the season, it is for right now. And this is the time that we've waited for all season long. Because barring anything like absolutely catastrophic, you know the Dodgers are gonna be in the postseason, via the wild card, which is usually not the case. typically as the division winner because we're fortunate.
Starting point is 00:37:35 We're spoiled in that regard. But now this is what this team is built for. And a three-peed is very difficult to do. But to your point, the only team, in my opinion as well, the only team that can beat the Dodgers is the Dodgers. So this is a really fun time of year. And I just, I love it, right? It's like grab the popcorn, grab, like, tell your bosses, like, you know,
Starting point is 00:37:56 you're going to be busy. You're going to be busy for the next month. A couple of other things before we say goodbye, guys. want to give props to Blake Trinan. He is out for the remainder of the season. He will be not, he will not be participating in the postseason. Obviously, had a shoulder issue when he was warming up in the bullpen. Katie Wu, our girl is going to have more on that tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:38:16 But just wanted your opinion, Clint, on Blake Trinin. Obviously, 2024 is massive in terms of his contribution. Not to be this year, but he was a special part of that 2024 run. Yeah, I mean, I, I, we, We won't lump him with, like, the phrase of Dodgers legend in the same way we talk about somebody like Max Muncie, but he had a legendary moment with this Dodgers team. Dodgers are three-time World Series champions because in part of Blake Trinen. In 2020, we saw him, you know, take the ball in the ninth inning when Kenley Jansen was unable to really answer the bell and perform his duties. Also, shout out Kenley Janssen, two saves away, one save away, I think, from five.
Starting point is 00:39:02 He's two saves away. He hit $4.98 yesterday. Yeah, that's really, that's also just insane when you think about, you know, me watching this team for as long as I have, remembering him as a catcher. You know, of course, everybody has seen the video of him as a catcher in the WBC. But, you know, remember hearing about, I think it was Logan White was the farm director at the time, them making that decision. Ned Coletti, you know the story, basically going down there.
Starting point is 00:39:31 I was like, look, this is your path to potentially playing in the big leagues or else, I don't know what to tell you, buddy. And he's turned that into a likely. Hall of Fame career. He's a Hall of Famer. I will go, I will absolutely scorch the earth if Kenley Janssen doesn't get into Cooperstown. Nobody has 500 saves anymore. I don't care.
Starting point is 00:39:52 Like, he deserves to be in the Hall of Fame. 100%. When he gets there, if he gets there, obviously, he's going to need to come back for next year. If he's going to make it to 500, I don't think the same way we won't see another 300 game winner. I don't think we see another 200 game winner, if we're being honest. We will never see anybody save 500 games again just from the way Bullpenes are constructed. But back to Trinan. Yeah, you know what?
Starting point is 00:40:17 This dude gave his shoulder a couple times to this team, and he's got some pretty nice hardware to show for it. Likely wasn't going to be on the postseason roster either way. Definitely not now. And, you know, we tip our cap. to BT 49, definitely, somewhere on the trust tree of Dodgers' legends, I guess we'll say. Other stuff, we mentioned earlier, congrats to the AAA Oklahoma City Comets for winning a title. And like we were kind of talking about, you know, the confusion of sending, that confusion, I would say more frustration, sending Josue de Paula down to AAA. Hey, he ends up getting four more games of it bats.
Starting point is 00:41:01 But as Katie Wu alluded to and explained, that's the way that you can get him back on the postseason roster is optioning back down to AAA at the time that he was on. Well, I guess. But yeah. But congratulations to him, Jose de Paula. Congratulations to AAA. I still can't. To me, they're always going to be Rancho Cucamonga. I'm sorry.
Starting point is 00:41:26 It is like I can't get that of my. I can't get it out of my head. Well, Rancho, that's the single A. I still, but it did, I mean, but OKC, I can't, they're they now, the Comets? Yeah, because they were the OKC Dodgers for a number of years. Before that, they had, you know, they were back in Albuquerque for a little while. But, you know, OKC and AAA, it's pretty synonymous now.
Starting point is 00:41:49 They were the OKC Dodgers to me. The comments is, that's just weird. All right, Edgaro Henriquez, getting ready for hot. He said to participate in bi-week activities, live hitters, a simulated game if all goes well, he'll be on the roster kids. What do you think about that? I mean, that's the guy that we were wanting to spam the trumpets for, right? That's huge.
Starting point is 00:42:09 We know how important this dude that Eduardo Henriquez has been for this roster. And obviously, you guys are covered this more, or we probably maybe, all three of us, we'll cover this more tomorrow on the show. Good off-day show for you of several. But, yeah, if he's able to come back and be healthy and be another potential weapon for this team, adding 103 to the back end of your bullpen, it's pretty important. In my humble opinion, doesn't use him big brain to say 103 good because he kind of knows where it's going most of the time. But, no, big.
Starting point is 00:42:40 103 is good. Things keep trending in the right direction. Big purple bear, I made sure to save this much easier, much earlier in the show. Things trending less in the right direction with my shirt because he said, think Clint's going to change it to a clean shirt for all Dodgers. We will be live, by the way, later this evening, 830 myself, Jeff and Jeff talking about this. game and all this. But this is not dirty. This was this was god damn how do I fucking do this. You're missing the spot.
Starting point is 00:43:06 There it is. Yeah. There it is. This is, this is bleach stains. That sucks and I'm the bro. You know we have Dodgers Territory Shop.com. We do. Go to Dodgers Territory Shop.com. You can scan the QR code or you can just shop and get the shirt that you need. It's really not that difficult. You literally have your own shop to shop from with a discount and you're wearing a bleached stained
Starting point is 00:43:30 shirt. So that's always, that's always awesome. I just got back from vacation. And I do got DT stuff all around me. So I got to, I got to be better. I got to be better. Back into the super chats before we do get out of here again, we appreciate everybody hanging out with us. If you are watching us,
Starting point is 00:43:45 we wouldn't hate you if you hit that thumbs up button, the like button helps us out in the YouTube algor rhythms. So the lack of offense with runners and scoring position, scares me, rightfully so. And I usually don't get scared, he says, because I'm married. Starting pitching will be our weapon, hashtag 100 wins.
Starting point is 00:44:09 Yeah. Care to comment? Okay. No. I'm not worried. It's going to be great. All right, guys, we appreciate you. Clint and I will, certainly Katie and I will be back.
Starting point is 00:44:19 All right. What's the last one here? One more from Don Davis. John Davis. All right, Alana, please earmark this for Guidry's pup who really, oh, yes, I will. I will. Thank you, Don. I appreciate that very much.
Starting point is 00:44:29 Thanks for all you do for all of them. And thank you guys for the support of Guidry's party in all season long. And thank you for your support of Dodgers Territory. All right, Katie and I for sure will be back tomorrow at 12 and 3, respectively. Clint probably will be with us. And then we're starting all the post-game shows.
