Diane in the chat says we look like crap
Dodgers offense Dodgers bats aren't looking that good
I love our new open I love our new open I love our new open
welcome to Dodgers territory on this post game edition
on this Wednesday evening that is Clint Piscius the real
FRG I am Alonarizzo Katie Wu is in the clubhouse at this point
doing post game for the athletic let's talk about this on April
Fools day the joke
is the Dodgers lost.
That is not a joke, Clint.
They did lose.
It's 4 to 1.
It is now 4 to 2 on the season.
It is too early to panic.
I am not panicking Clint Paseas,
but we need to discuss the lack of offense, sir.
Yeah, it's a little bit of something right now.
Diane in the chat says,
we look like crap.
Dodgers offense, Dodgers' bats aren't looking that good.
I don't know why I keep fixing the little bug.
and then it changes each time.
But yeah, the offense not looking exceptional so far to open the season.
Andy Pahas was three for three tonight.
Everybody else was two for 26.
You're not going to win too many ball games that way.
Yoshi will talk about him a little bit later, talk pitching a little bit later.
He was good once again without his best stuff.
But Gavin Williams was a lot better against this Dodgers offense.
It just kind of hasn't found its stride.
you know, the first three games of the season, there were, I wouldn't say lucky hits, but timely hits that led to, you know, them sweeping that first series against debacks.
But since that point, you know, going up here against Cleveland, yeah, the offense, struggle bus.
Struggle bus. So here's the situation as I'm looking at the box score right now. Again, the Dodgers lose four to one against the Cleveland Guardians.
Oh, okay, great. Throw it up there. I got a real one. All of our new graphics. I love our graphics. I love our graphics.
I appreciate this very much.
But yeah, if you look at it, though, I don't think that's right, love.
I love you, but that's not right.
If you look at it, Freddie Freeman, it was one for four.
He was the offense tonight, Clint Passeas.
He, and it was a late, late, late, late game home run, his first of the season.
Everybody else was Dundee.
I mean, Andy Paa has three hits.
He did his job, right?
He was three for three, no RBI, but at least he got a hit.
To Oscar Hernandez, one for three.
Freddie Freeman was one for four, but Freddie drove in the only run, a solo shot.
Otani, the struggles offensively continue.
I'm not worried, but we do have to discuss it because we're talking about it every game, right?
We discuss every game here on Dodgers territory.
Shohei Otani, O for three.
He did get the walk, the two Ks, but the 167 average is a little bit problematic, right?
You go up and down the lineup.
Otani 167, Kyle Tucker 174, bets 136, Freeman 208.
Smith 200. I get it. I get it. Andy Paz today, three for three, his average is 429. So you'll take that. But again, it's not, it's not a pretty picture. I'll be it. We're four and two, but this is a team that expects more, Clint. Yeah, I mean, we talked all offseason into the spring training about the Dodgers ruining baseball. How are you going to get through this vaunted lineup that is just star studded that is filled with All Star after All Star. It turns out, just throw to him.
And they're going to figure it out.
They're going to figure out how to get out pretty early this season.
I'm not worried.
I'll add that much.
Yeah, 10 strikeouts, every time they started to get something going.
They grounded into a double play, it felt like.
It's tough.
So far, not great, not a great start to the season offensively.
But nobody's worried.
It appears like, why would they be worried?
You know, Dave, before the game, he spoke with reporters saying, you know, we're going to break
out at some point.
sadly was not this game
of course though
I agree with what he said it gets magnified
early and that's what we're talking about here
this is the magnification early
when you start to
look at that box score those
lines that you mentioned Riz
when you see one six sevens
and well I gotta do that
yeah when you see people batting under 200
then you're like okay what's wrong with this team
they're spending 400 billion dollars on the roster
why aren't they Mo better at baseball
but everybody just
got off to, has gotten off to a slow start, but we're still talking about a four and two baseball
team, still in the lead in the National League West. We are, but I also expect that I absolutely
expect you to dominate the Diamondbacks. I also expect you to dominate the Guardians.
I just, I don't know. We just have a better lineup up and down, um, the roster than anybody else
does. And you can't, it just is a little bit laxadaisical. Maybe, I don't know, again, it's the first
two series out of the gate, maybe they're still getting their timing, maybe they're, you know,
it's going to, it's going to take some time to get going. We talked about it the other day that,
you know, Justin Herbleski was going to piggyback off of, we thought maybe Shohei Otani or
Rohi Sasaki. That, that outing did not go well. Obviously, today, Yamamoto, he did not have
his best stuff. This was just a kind of a, just a shitty game. It was just kind of,
like a ho-hum type of game but you can't put it on yama uh he gave up the two earned runs which
i'm fine with um but the offense is just not there it's just not there i mean you have such
a dominating offense when you look up and down the lineup and the roster that they have and on paper
i mean you put it you saw it right there it's like andy pious was was three for three clint everybody
else was what two for 26 i don't even i don't know i don't know what it said but like you just
had it up there on the on the on the graphics that you're doing such a great job with i'm so
pride of you. Well, that does it automatically, thankfully.
Oh, okay. Well, don't take the credit.
Don't let the people know, Clint. Just take
all the credit for it. But, um,
yeah, I'll put this one back up here
again. I mean, who's hot, who's not to start
the season? You know, Kyle Tucker
had, uh, you know, that RBI double,
uh, or at least base hit and then,
uh, the game winning double
to open the season, uh, in that
first series, but he's been kind of cold.
Teo also, we were expecting him to be an absolute
lightning rod to open the season, has been,
Nice cold. Same. Same with moving.
Maybe not to open the season, but Teo,
Teo, I think is going to be, is going to be a huge piece of this season puzzle.
I don't doubt, I don't doubt any of these guys.
But, again, our job, you guys listening and watching is to break down the game that we just saw.
Okay, this is, we're not going to paint this with the broad stroke brush right now.
We're talking about tonight's game.
The four to one lost the Guardians that made the Dodgers four to two on the season.
Andy Pahas, you get a pass, sir.
Freddie Freeman, welcome.
It's nice to see your first home run of the year.
This was not, I agree with the chat.
Maddie Man, five Dodge 101.
This was not, it wasn't on Yama.
It wasn't.
It was not on Yamamoto tonight on his Yoshi bobblehead night.
This is on an offense that can't seem to get it together at this point in the season.
Yeah, yeah.
Again, I'm going to focus in, honestly, on guys that were expected to be.
big time run producers and we're not singling out any particular people, but I'm going to single
out kind of a section of the lineup. And that's, you know, we entered, we came out of spring
training expecting Mookie Betts to be hot. We came out of spring training expecting TAY Oscar Hernandez
to be hot. But right now, swinging a little while, they've had their hits for sure.
You know, Mookie has a homer. Teo has a few opportunities where he's driven in some runs, has
has hit the ball hard and found some grass,
but they're still just not taking advantage of opportunities.
They're also not being given a lot of opportunities.
Again, tonight, I think Mookie grounded into a double play
when there was an opportunity maybe to potentially move a guy over
or maybe put a run on the board, did not capitalize.
But for the greater part, you need the entire lineup
to do something outside of the bottom of the lineup.
We'll throw the who's hot, who's not back up there again,
because Alex Friedland, it's funny enough,
is on the hot side. I mean, it started with his first game where he had a double and a homer,
but, um, which is funny, Clint, because if you look at our chat right now, people are clamoring
for Heisan Kim, right? It's like OTC 69 says free Kim, uh, Freeland, I don't know, it's like
people are, but he's, he's actually on the, it's hot side, uh, versus the, they're not side.
It's funny though, if you look at, uh, Terry Hesdickles, we appreciate the 99 super chat for him.
I'm not sure if to be worried or keep telling myself it's still early in the season.
I think people are upset because we expect this team to go guns blazing,
hoping the law of averages balance out.
And it will.
You guys, it's six games.
Like it will balance itself out.
I know we joked like 162 and O or bust.
But yeah, you want to see an offense that's putting together good at bats up and down the lineup.
You want to see an offense that puts more than one run on the board.
And certainly a solo shot late in the game.
in the ninth inning.
You know, you want to see an offense that is,
is clicking on all cylinders,
because that's what you expect with Otani and Tucker and Betts and Freeman and Smith
and Muncie and Hernandez and Pahas in your lineup.
I'm not even mentioning Freeland,
put whoever the hell you want in the nine hole.
I don't care.
But one through eight,
like you expect a lot more than one run against the Cleveland Guardians.
Yeah,
I got another one to throw up here too from Empire Jeff on the chat saying,
Kim just struck out three times at AAA,
The Kim narratives are wild
And I don't understand why people think he's the savior
Because it's always what's on the other side?
Right
How would this guy be doing up here if he was up here right now?
Exactly. That's going to be the biggest thing with Hessong Kim right now.
It's like, well, he's not here.
He could be hitting 400 for the Dodgers and they could be 6 and 0 right now.
But then the thing is like if Hessan Kim was here and Freeland was in AAA,
they'd be like, oh, Freeland is the best thing ever.
He's hitting 400.
You know, it's like, yeah, you always want what you can.
can't have. I mean, that's just, that's just the law. Talk about a law of averages. That's just
the law of human beings. Yeah. Um, yeah, these are always the, the fun type of post games where you're,
where it's so early in the season and we're trying to like temper some expectations or bring
people back down to a reality, trying to tell people, Alana, that is going to be great. And it will.
It will eventually. Right now, yeah, it sucks. It sucks. There's in back, back games to Cleveland,
to the Cleveland Guardians. Um, they're not a bad team. They're not a great team.
But, you know, they came in here and they kind of knocked the Dodgers around a little bit.
They didn't really knock them around.
But they at least gave them a little bit of a sucker punch and said, hey, you know, enjoy your day off and your flight to Washington.
Number facts.
Yeah.
I mean, and that's where we're headed.
You don't expect the guardians to come in and take two of three.
Like, you just don't.
You know, the Dodgers obviously started out with a strong start against the Diamondbacks.
And that's what you want to do in your division.
They're three and oh to start the season.
And now here we are four and two.
You lose the first game against the Guardians on Monday, four to two.
You win on Tuesday, four to one.
And then you lose tonight four to one.
That's just how things go.
But I expect them to be better and they will be better.
And we'll talk more about Yama, who this did not fall on Clint Paseas.
There's more to come on Dodgers territory post game on this April 1st, April Fool's Day.
but first a word from our friends at Fell.

On our new podcast, The Away End,
we'll share with you the magic of international football,
all leading up to the 2026 World Cup.
For us, soccer...
Football is a story we've shared for over 30 years
since Daniel was the star player on our high school soccer team.
Very debatable.
And I was there.
most loyal and sometimes only fan.
I love this game.
I love its history,
its hope,
its heartbreak,
and above all,
it's beauty.
Together, we'll find out why,
of all the unimportant things,
football, soccer,
is the most important.

And this is 40s and free agents.
The games may be
over, but the NFL never stopped.
This is my favorite part of the calendar.
Yeah, mine too, Greg, free agency, the combine, the NFL draft pro days, trades.
This is where teams reshape their future.
This is where Daniel Jeremiah makes his money.
On 40s and free agents, we break down every move that actually matters.
From my draft evaluations, mock drafts, and team fits.
To my top 101 free agents and how real rosters are built, cap space, contracts, and all the
tough decisions included.
You got quarterbacks on the move.
We got teams rebuilding.
It's hope season.
Yeah, absolutely.
It's hope season.
We'll tell you what's real, what's noise, and what it means for your favorite team.
Smart analysis, real conversations every week.
I don't know about the smart, but definitely analysis.

I like this one from Rosman.
Says Clint, let's get some tacos, go bowling, mini golf with the chat, just tell them to chill out.
chill out time take a chill pill that's what like like just stop like chill out you guys all right
we talked about it clint this is not on yoshinovo yamoato on his bobblehead night on this
wednesday which the dodgers did yesterday by the way what i thought it was wednesday isn't is today
not wednesday today is wednesday but i thought i thought that was yesterday and pretty all right
whatever the the yoshi yoshi yoshi was funny like the whole the dodgers all the things that was yesterday yes
You never know, I never know my dates.
The point is, this is not on Yama, right?
Like, he gives you six innings, which, I mean, especially for like your first or second start of the year, which obviously this was his second because he was the opening day starter.
But to give you six innings, like I'm, I'm okay with six innings, two run runs, one walk, two K's, not the best stuff.
He hasn't, we haven't seen Yama's best stuff in either outing, but he still gives you an opportunity to win the game.
He still gives you a quality start.
He still gives you a chance.
I mean, he retired the first six guardians that he faced.
He runs into trouble Clint in the third inning to score all of the damage.
That was it.
That was it.
His final line, six innings, four hits, two run runs I mentioned, 87 pitches, 52 for strikes.
So the majority of his pitches were strikes.
Not the crispest command, as we would like to see.
But this is the definition of an ace.
And I think you'll agree with this too.
And you put it in our rundown.
I don't want to take the credit for your work.
But you can still, this is with the definition of an ace,
when you can still not have your best stuff,
but you can still be exceptional.
And that's your word.
I mean, this is a guy that didn't have it all,
but he still gives his team a heck of a chance to win.
And that's Yama.
That's who he is.
That, this is the exact way you pay him all that kind of money.
To do the type of shit he did for this team last October.
that's why you give him a lot of money, but also to keep you in a ballgame 30 times over 162 games, which is what he did last year.
So none of this falls on Yamamoto, even into the bullpen.
I really thought we would see, and maybe I'm just missing it, but I really thought we'd see a lot more pitchforks and torches for Tanner Scott giving up a homer to a very, very good hitter in J-Ram.
But he allows his first run of the year, allows also his first inherited runner to score.
in his third or fourth appearance of the year.
Tanner Scott has been good.
Blake Trinan, behind him,
for finding some silver linings,
finding some positives.
Trinan,
another clean appearance for him.
Will Klein was mostly solid.
You know,
his run was an inherited runner scoring.
But, you know,
with Freddie,
with Andy Pahas,
there's a lot of things to build on here.
There's a lot of good stuff.
You know,
it sucks to lose,
going into an off day,
and then a long flight across the country.
But I'm so happy they're coming east.
Woo!
You can go to a game or what?
My time zone, bitches.
You're going to go up to...
It's so funny.
This is what's so funny about sport.
And I'm not, I'm not judging.
This is what makes fans fanatics, and this is what makes fans great.
But it's so funny to me, because it's somebody, I'm just looking in here, Stephanie can't
curry 1150.
It looks like Conforter wasn't the problem.
Bro.
Are we, this is what we're doing.
Like, is this what we're, this is what makes it so funny.
This is like, it's so emotional and it's so like visceral.
And you're just like, I hate everybody when you don't win.
And that's what makes sports great.
I love this.
You want Conforto back?
Give me the overreactions.
Overreactions.
That's the best part about being a fan.
You're allowed to overreact.
And that's what makes sports beautiful.
That's what makes sports like, okay, but then J.Y. Kim 3604 says, for those missing Conforto,
here's a tweet from a Cubs fan, get Michael Conforto off my baseball team ASAP.
I feel you're.
pain bud see that's what makes it beautiful i saw that one i saw that one earlier online and i was
like ah is that content now now well we don't it's not the point is people are insane and people's
opinions are insane because everyone thinks they're going to go you should go 162 and oh and that's
just not real and then uh fritzie the dog uh 499 on the super chat side of things thank you very
much fritzy that dog says after last season's lack of run support for yo
She got you thinking right away. Not again, not again for Yamamoto.
First of all, I want to hang out with Ritsy the dog. Can I pet that dog? Can I pet that dog?
Hey, you know what? Hell, let's take this opportunity. You should tell people about, uh, yeah, you guys.
This is really great. So, uh, thank you for letting me talk about this. Gidre's guardian, my nonprofit,
met at the Dodgers. So Francisco Lindor, Juan Soto, Boba Shet coming into Dodgers Stadium on April 13th.
It is a Monday. It's basically two weeks.
from now, all the proceeds, every single cent goes to Gidre's Guardian to help dogs in need.
It's four field-level tickets behind the on-deck circle and a parking pass at Dodgers Stadium.
High bid wins.
You go to 32 auctions.com slash April 13th, which is the date of the game.
You create a free account and you bid.
You do not pay a dime unless you win the four passes, the four tickets.
and the parking pass, like I said, every single cent goes to dogs in need.
Thank you to Anita Olson for donating her tickets.
She is a massive Dodger fan, and she is a Guidry's Guardian supporter.
So thank you.
If you're looking for a dog as well, go to gidrysguardian.org.
Get yourself a dog.
There's plenty of dogs that need to be adopted.
Dogs will make you happier when the Dodgers are making you sad.
And honestly, like you can get a dog to sit on the couch and watch Dodger games with you.
They used to be a Dodger dog.
Or you can get a dog to sit under your computer chair over at Chairs for Fat Guys.com, which is not a real.
Oh my God, that was so funny.
I almost died.
Is that really a company?
You should just click on it and see what happens.
Okay, I will.
Go to Chairs for Fat Guys.com and everybody make sure you subscribe me.
Fairs for Fat Guys.com.
I laughed.
I even liked it.
I even did a ha-ha-ha.
Thank you.
I've always wanted a like from Riz.
Riz, I want to know, so this is more so for the YouTube audience, but if you're listening, just use your imagination.
We all know, Shohayotani is great at baseball, great at pitching, great at hitting, great at walking right now.
It hasn't really hit so much to open the season.
But he's also the master of like the aura farm.
I guess it's not even an oar farm.
He's got a mean mug about him.
He is very...
He's very, no, he's expressive.
Expressive is a good.
And we got this.
I mean, all right.
So, Clint, who are you right now of all of the Shohei Otani expressions slash emojis?
And this could be within a four minute period.
This is Otani.
Yeah, really.
Who are you right now after this game?
I want to say like, so if we're going, you know, one, two, like, right to left or left to right,
that's one, two, three, four, five, six.
I think I'm a three.
I think I'm kind of a little bit of mad face show, hey,
just because I don't want to have to be doing angry shows or that kind of stuff.
I am the last one on here.
I am bottom right number six.
Like the, oh, like the whole like,
yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
He's so impressive.
I love it.
The man has a billion different emotions.
All right.
So this is it.
I mean, this is what we talk about.
This is the show.
Like there's no, there's no, there's no reason to like belabor it.
There's no reason to dissect.
We appreciate you guys being here.
Mr. Buddha 66, bless you kind person for blessing me about wanting to represent man's best friend.
We love you guys.
We will be back tomorrow, our normal time.
Me, Clint, Katie.
At 12 p.m. Pacific, 3 p.m. Eastern.
We'll talk about what we look forward to in terms of the next series,
the road trip for the Dodgers.
Hit the road.
Hit the road for a six game set on the road.
So we'll be here.
I'm definitely,
I'm curious to get Katie's input from that clubhouse,
what people are feeling.
We know they're fine.
It's funny because like two losses to the Dodgers seems like,
oh my goodness, what's going on?
Be thankful you're not the Red Sox, you guys.
They've lost five in a row.
Oh, be thankful you're not a Red Sox fan.
That's all.
That's all what we're going to say about that one.
Guys, subscribe on the way out.
We'll see you tomorrow.
Bye.
Bye.

Co-host of the podcast The Away End with my old friend Daniel.
On our podcast, The Away End, we'll share with you the magic of international football,
