And I'm like, who is this person? Welcome to the Boys and Girls podcast. Arranged Marriage is basically a reality show and you're auditioning for your soulmate.
Starting point is 00:01:02 And who's judging? Only your entire family. I sacrificed myself to this ancient tradition, hoping to find love the right way. And instead, I found chaos, comedy, and a lot of cringe. Listen to boys and girls on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. All right, son. Time to put out this campfire. Dad, we learned about this in school.
Starting point is 00:01:25 Oh, did you now? Okay. What's first? Smokey Bear said to. First, drown it with a bucket of water, then stir it with a shovel. Wow. You sound just like him. Then he said,
Starting point is 00:01:35 If it's still warm, then do it again. Where can I learn all this? It's all on smoky bear.com with other wildfire prevention tips, because only you can prevent wildfires. Brought to you by the USDA Forest Service, your state forester and the ad council. You want to have the right pieces in place for the team culture, the team chemistry,
Starting point is 00:01:55 while also kind of raising the ceiling. And to me, it feels like the moves that they've made so far have done that. Hey, hey, party people. What is going on? Happy Monday to you. I am not Alana Rizzo. I am just Clint Paseas and I'm going to be here hanging out with you for about the next half hour or so. So Alana is out this week.
Starting point is 00:02:20 You're just going to be stuck with me and you're going to have to deal with it. Hopefully you enjoy that. We do have a special guest joining us today. Sonia Chen. She is the new Dodgers beatwriter for MLB.com. She's going to be doing some great stuff this season covering your World Series champion Los Angeles Dodgers before we get in. into that. I got to remind you, please subscribe to this show here on YouTube. It would really
Starting point is 00:02:41 help us out. Rate the show, five stars, leave a review on the podcast platforms. It goes a long way in helping us get bigger and better. And it's just me here today. So, well, and Sonia, jump into the comments. Let's sound off. Let's have ourselves a conversation about our Dodgers who had themselves a busy Friday. So we're going to get into it right now in the big ticket. By now, you already know the deal the Dodgers made an unexpected last. minute, I don't know, it's not a last minute signing, but they made it unexpected and interesting signing adding infielder High Song, Ha Song, Haysong Kim to a three-year, 12.5 million dollar deal. The KBO star infielder, he's going to probably play some utility or be a bit of a utility
Starting point is 00:03:28 player for the Dodgers as well. I said unexpected because it very much came out of left field, seeing Hayesong Kim join the team at this point in the offseason. and was down into the final minutes of his posting window from the KBO, the Key Womb Heroes, said, hey, you guys can pick him up, and that's exactly what the Dodgers did. What does this do for the team? What is there to be excited about?
Starting point is 00:03:55 It raises the floor for the Dodgers once again. They're trying to do the borderline impossible, and that is go back to back. They're trying to win themselves another World Series after winning it in 2024, and a good way to help is by adding those floor, raising talents. So that's what we have here. Kim joins the team. We'll play some second. We'll play some short. Could play some left field. That's kind of what we've heard so far, the impact that we expect. We're also hearing some rumors about Gavin Lux, maybe being one of the big pieces that
Starting point is 00:04:28 could be affected by the signing of Heysong Kim here. Ha Song Kim. However, it is properly pronounced. I'm not a big time pronunciation boy, but we'll get into that. slight in just a minute with Sonia Chen. But that's the plan there. We're hearing that, seeing that. Fabian Ardaya mentioned that. We've also had a friend of the show, David Vasay, mentioned that the Dodgers plan is not to, you know, boot Gavin Loxer or not to displace a mooky bets at shortstop. The plan is Kim will be a utility player.
Starting point is 00:05:03 That's even if he's on the opening day roster. He does have the ability to be optioned. really good deal point. The point is a really, really good deal for the Dodgers. But I mentioned Gavin Lux there. And again, we're going to talk more about this in a little bit with Sonia when she joins us. But Gavin Lux, we're hearing more rumors about the potential availability. We know he was rumored to be dangled in trade talks with the Milwaukee Brewers a couple weeks back for Devin Williams. We're now hearing more about maybe the Yankees being involved, maybe the Seattle Mariners having an interest. in Gavin Lux. If we're wondering who has, who is most impacted by this Kim edition, is it Chris Taylor? Is it Gavin Lux? Will it affect a return of Kike Hernandez? Right now, if you're reading, you know, the tea leaves, if you're reading the writing on
Starting point is 00:06:00 the wall, it feels to me like Gavin Lux is sort of potentially kind of an odd man out. that said, I still believe in Gavin Lux. I still believe at this point in both his and Kim's major league career, of which Kim does not have a major league career yet. Gavin Lux has the higher upside. He plays a solid second base. We've seen what he can do when he's right in the head, when he's healthy, he put together a really, really good second half,
Starting point is 00:06:31 and he's also put together good seasons when healthy in the past. Of course, that knee thing. bugged him a whole lot. But, listen, we'll dive more into that. I want to point out one last thing. Dodgers continue to work, putting in a lot of work this off season. My God, look at these names, adding Blake Snell, extending Tommy Edmund, you bring back Blake Trinnan, you add Michael Conforto, of course, Teosca Hernandez officially resigned,
Starting point is 00:06:56 and you add Kim to the mix. Andrew Friedman stays busy and exceptionally busy offseason. We wonder, is there still more in the tank? We'll ask Sonia next, but first we are going to hear from AJ Prasinski, Eric Kratz, and Scott Braun about Orgain. As an athlete, I care about what I put in my body, especially when it comes to protein. But can we also get some protein that tastes good? Come on, it's 2025. Todd, that's why this podcast is sponsored by Orgaine.

Starting point is 00:08:20 This Woman's History Month, the podcast, if you knew better with Amber Grimes, spotlights women who turn missteps into momentum and lessens into power. I think coming out of where I came from, I'm from the Bronx. I think I grew up really poor. I didn't know that then because I very much used my creativity to romanticize life. And I'm like, my mom did a really good job of like, you step back and you're like, whoa, we, I don't know how we made it. So a lot of my life was like built out of like survival to get to the next place.
Starting point is 00:08:50 Like my drive, my like tunnel vision of like, I got to be better. I got to achieve this was off the strengths of like I want to make a better life for us. If you knew better brings real talk from women who've lived it. unpacking career pivots, relationship lessons, and the mindset shifts that changed everything. Listen to if you knew better with Amber Grimes on the IHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Big thank you to our gain for supporting the Fowell Network. And a big thank you to Sonia Chen, new Dodgers Beatwriter for MLB.com. Thank you for joining the show.
Starting point is 00:09:24 Happy to have you here. Happy New Year to you. And some people probably don't know who the hell you are. We're happy to have you here and get you introduce. to the fan base. You're coming at a great time. Of course, he spent the last few seasons covering in the Bay Area. You got some Oakland in there.
Starting point is 00:09:41 You got some Giants in there. And Dodgers fans will certainly boo. But how do you feel stepping into this world where the Dodgers are run by Shohei Otani and they're going for back-to-back World Series title? How exciting is that for you as you enter this picture? I mean, it's a dream come true, really. to be on any beat was something that I really wanted to do the last couple of years as I was, you know, mostly filling in. So I, you know, it was like a new team every series pretty much to dig in and, you know, really get to focus on one team, you know, see what makes them tick.
Starting point is 00:10:18 That's so incredibly exciting to me. And then to have it be a team like the Dodgers where there's not only the history with the franchise, but, you know, a team that wants to win, a team that's always really just making things interesting. You know, that is just such a, such a joy. And I can't wait to, like, really get started when, when spring training comes. Yeah, we know the Dodgers stay very, very busy. Andrew Friedman, Brandon Gomes. They are always giving us headlines to write about, read about, talk about. And it has been an exceptionally busy off season, lots of moves.
Starting point is 00:10:53 Of course, you joined just before the winter meetings. You got to, you know, hear Friedman speak at the winter meetings about, you know, the plan. They want to put all their hard. work in this off season. They don't want to have to, as he said, you know, avoid July to buy. He doesn't want to have to be exceptionally active at the trade deadline where we know prices are high. You know, what's your take about this, this off season so far? What's left in the tank? And is Friedman doing the things that he needs to do so far to avoid spending a lot of money and time and prospects in July. Yeah, I mean, I think if you look at the offseason so far, to me, they've done a
Starting point is 00:11:37 really good mix of adding, you know, really high-end talent and adding some more depth, kind of, you know, maybe filling some holes that they had on the roster, but at the same time bringing back important contributors from last year's team. And I think it's one of those things where there has to be some balance there where you want to, you know, you want to have the right. pieces in place for the team culture and the team chemistry while also kind of raising the ceiling. And to me, it feels like the moves that they've made so far have done that. Yeah, culture is a big one. We know that Teoska Hernandez.
Starting point is 00:12:14 The return was huge for this culture. I mean, he fit in. It was like peas and carrots when he joined. And of course, Shoha Tani joining the team last year, they hit it off very well. Excited to let you see what they're like together in the clubhouse. Spring training should be a lot of fun for you. We know they're not done. We know there's still a Roki Sasaki on the table somewhere in the next couple of weeks.
Starting point is 00:12:39 We still want to know what happens with Kikei Hernandez, but we got to talk about something I was talking about just before you join. We're starting to see some rumors, you know, percolate a little bit more about Gavin Lux. Maybe teams are calling, you know, calling the Dodgers about acquiring him. Maybe the Dodgers are kind of passively shopping Gavin Lux, who, as great of a player as he is, has some limitations as sort of a platoon hitter, as sort of somebody that, I wouldn't say can't play beyond second base.
Starting point is 00:13:11 But if you're going to be a Dodger, you've got to be able to do a little bit of everything. And maybe that's what the Kim edition gives them along with Tommy Edmund. What is your take about some of these Lux rumors? Do you think they are maybe more actively than passively shopping him? or is it more than likely that Gavin Lux will be the starting second basement on opening day in Tokyo? I think it is hard to say. I'm still in the place where I'm getting to the organization a bit. So as to the exact rumors, I kind of can't go in with specifics.
Starting point is 00:13:44 But from my own opinion, I would guess maybe they're more passively, you know, including him in talks. Because I think he's still an important piece to have. And if he can, you know, play more like he did in the second half last year, especially, you know, that would be huge to have in the lineup, I think. But it's, I think it's, you know, hard to count on that, obviously. And with Heysong Kim in the mix, too, you know, I think you want to give him the opportunity to adjust to major league pitching. And it's, to me, it's hard for, it's going to be hard for him to do that if he's not playing, you know, maybe he's, He won't be an everyday player, but he's probably going to need a fair amount of playing time. And I guess that could come in the minor leagues too.
Starting point is 00:14:32 So there's just kind of a lot of moving pieces where I think that we'll probably have to see what happens in spring. You know, they'll have to see both of them if, you know, they're both still in the mix at that point. And I'm thinking it's going to be, you know, a story kind of developing long into the next month or so. I mean, we know competition brings out the best in athletes, and I think that's what they've really set themselves up with, you know, adding Kim. At some point, you still really do hope Kike Hernandez comes back into the picture, but you bring in the best talent and kind of just let them battle each other out. And, you know, the best 26 men, you know, fly out to Tokyo or, you know, whatever.
Starting point is 00:15:17 You probably won't have that. You probably won't have everybody healthy, everybody ready to go. We know Otani won't be ready to pitch, all that kind of stuff. but still, in theory, you have your best 26 dudes flying out there. Mentioned Shohei there. We heard from Dave Roberts, probably not pitching until May. What's the latest you can tell us about Shohei Otani in his recovery? We did see him throwing at a high school in the L.A. area this weekend.
Starting point is 00:15:44 What can you tell us about Shohei? Yeah, with Shohei, I mean, it seems like back at the winter meetings, at least, he had started his off-season throwing program. He's progressed as we've seen him. And it seems like he's, you know, not too delayed by that shoulder surgery, which is, you know, best possible outcome, obviously. But I think the biggest thing for the team is whether he can, you know, build up innings and how that works with him still being, you know, their everyday designated hitter, ideally. So one thing that I'll be very interested to see that I think the team is still. figuring this out honestly is how you know if he keeps getting the same number of
Starting point is 00:16:29 DH reps or if he'll need some more rest days and if that maybe opens up a couple of you know starts at DH for others in the lineup and this is again just me kind of thinking about this because when he came back in 2020 he you know he only made two starts that year so it's hard to use that as kind of a template. But he did have some days off around those starts. And I'm thinking if they want to keep him healthy, keep him right the whole season, maybe they do need to kind of ease off the gas a little bit with his two-way. Yeah, which is, I mean, fans watching this right now, fans listening,
Starting point is 00:17:08 I think we all need to understand or remind ourselves the prize, the important thing happens in October, what happens the first few months. Yeah, you want to win some ball games, all wins. are created equal, but keep your horses healthy. We saw this team absolutely eviscerated by injuries as the season went along, particularly on the pitching staff. So give me Shohei pitching at the second half of the season rather on opening day, and I will be just fine.
Starting point is 00:17:33 I think that's kind of, kind of feels like what they're doing. They're not in any rush to get him on the mound just so, you know, the magic or whatever, the pomp and circumstance of, oh, Shohei is pitching or available on opening day? No, it doesn't matter. as long as he's in the lineup hitting and you know you know dropping some dongs out there in Tokyo I think everybody is going to be very very happy um read a piece on mlb.com that you contributed to you know the biggest question marks surrounding each team and I agree with your assessment that is mooky bets at shortstop it was a question it was a shock it's absolute surprise to
Starting point is 00:18:11 everybody last year when the Dodgers said hey he's moving to shortstop and and Gavin Lux moving to second base. The team is behind him. It feels like they really believe that a full offseason will help Mookie Betts get better, fill in the holes around his game at shortstop. Committed, excited, all of that. Is 2025 the year of Mookiee Betts at shortstop? Or is maybe like this Kim deal, say maybe we have a little bit of, you know,
Starting point is 00:18:46 break in case of emergency on mooki what's what's kind of your your feeling of where the team is at with shortstop mookie right now you know i think you know when it comes to the middle infield especially the one thing that they've been really you know kind of clear on is that they do expect mooky to be the shortstop and you know could things change i'm i'm sure they always could right but you know there seems to be a lot of confidence and i understand where they're coming from and thinking that a whole off season will be enough to kind of, you know, get Moogie where he needs to be because, you know, last year it's like the things that he was doing really well and really naturally were some of the harder aspects of playing shortstop.
Starting point is 00:19:34 And then, you know, it was kind of throwing that was a bit of an issue. So it's more like if he has time in, you know, not just game pressure situations to be getting those reps and, you know, fully adjusting, I think it's definitely a possibility. And is there a contingency plan? I think, yes, with Kim and Tommy Edmund, if they, you know, it sounds like right now that he'll be in center field mostly, but could just as easily, you know, come back in and play shortstop if that's what's better for the team. And I think the bottom line is, which, you know, the front office is kind of reiterated is that Mookie wants to
Starting point is 00:20:17 do what's best for the team and going forward he wants to do that at shortstop I feel like if it becomes clear that you know something needs to change he's better served in right field or better served at second base I think
Starting point is 00:20:33 that change would be made and it definitely feels like the team is equipped to pivot if needed. It's the new me and it's the old them everybody's on their journey and your journey's different to this. This Woman's History Month, the podcast, if you knew better with Amber Grimes, spotlights women who turn missteps into momentum and lessons into power.

Starting point is 00:21:30 that changed everything. Listen to If You knew better with Amber Grimes on the IHeart Radio app, Apple podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Usually on this podcast will kill you, we talk about the diseases, infections, and biological threats that can make us really sick. But right now, we're doing something a little different. We're stepping back and looking at what the human body needs to keep going. When you consider what we know about sleep in humans, there's one rule that comes out. We are predictably unpredictable sleepers. We're talking about why sleep works the way it does, why our bodies don't follow neat rules,
Starting point is 00:22:03 and why modern life makes rest so hard to come by. The second half of our series takes us to the digestive system, with a multi-part series on what happens after we eat. Okay, I just have to say that all of my favorite words apparently are digestive words. Sphinctor, Peristaltis, Duodum. It's fascinating. It's funny, and it matters so much more than you think. Episodes of our new series run from January 20th through February 17th,
Starting point is 00:22:28 with new episodes every Tuesday on the Exactly Right Network. Listen to this podcast will kill you as part of the Exactly Right Network on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Remember when you'd walk into your local video rental place and there were always those two employees behind the counter arguing about movies? Well, that's us. I'm Millie to Cherico. And I'm Casey O'Brien. And now we're arguing about movies on our podcast, Dear Movies I Love You, from the Exactly Right Network.
Starting point is 00:22:55 Can I say something about the criterion closet? Go ahead, dude. They're letting too many people in there. Okay, that's another film grape I got two. Sadly, that rental place doesn't exist anymore. It's probably a store that sells running shoes. or an ice cream shop with an extra P and an E at the end. So consider us your slacker movie clerks in podcast form.
Starting point is 00:23:15 I would like to establish a timeline of the moment you figured out who Channing Tatum was. Every Tuesday, we dig into the movies we can't stop obsessing over, from hidden gems to big screen favorites. New episodes drop every week on the exactly right network. Listen to Dear Movies I Love You on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. We are talking here with Sonia Chen. She is the new Dodgers beatwriter for MLB.com. And I would be remiss if we didn't talk Roki Sasaki. We know there's some moves left for the Los Angeles Dodgers. The first one up could be Roki Sasaki. There has been some news. Of course, his agent did kind of a, I guess you call it sort of a town hall. I don't know what exactly is,
Starting point is 00:24:02 but he spoke to a bunch of reporters on the internet. What's the latest you can tell us about the Dodgers pursuit of Roki Sasaki, and is that really the big item they're looking for to add to the starting pitching mix? Yeah, I mean, I think that adding Sasaki would be kind of the, you know, the jewel, crown jewel of the off season if they could make that happen. And, you know, if they do want to open the season with a six-man rotation like they've been talking about, they actually kind of do need someone else in the minute. ideally since Otani will be out until, you know, probably may. So yeah, I think, you know,
Starting point is 00:24:44 Sasaki, it's, there's been simultaneously a lot of information from, you know, his agent, Joel Wolfe, and at the same time, not very much because it's all very, you know, speaking in kind of generalities, right? But the Dodgers have met with him once. I think it sounds like second round is still kind of being planned by Sasaki's team. So I don't know if that's started yet. But I mean, I have to think that they should be in a good place. They should have a really compelling pitch for him because if Joel Wolfe says, you know, Sasaki is interested in, he's interested in becoming ideally like the greatest pitcher in the world. That's what he wants, which is, yeah, no, no small feet. Yeah, that's easy, right? Yeah, exactly.
Starting point is 00:25:38 I mean, set your expectations high, right? Yeah, yeah, that's an organization that 100% can. The Dodgers are, we've talked about it a lot on this show. They are the best equipped to put him in that position. And I've argued in the past, you know, what, when we talk about goats in sports, we don't necessarily talk about their numbers. We talk about titles, championships, rings. and name me a team that is better set up in Major League Baseball right now than the Los Angeles Dodgers to help you get those rings. So Sasaki, come on down. What we got, I think it's the deadline is the 23rd. Is the official?
Starting point is 00:26:14 Okay. And we're hearing that he's expected to sign within like 72 hours or announce the decision where he's going about 72 hours before then. So we're hoping everybody, you know, send your prayers to Tommy Lasorda in the sky that Roki will choose the Los Angeles Dodgers. beyond Roki. What do you think, what else is on the table on, you know, the small shopping list left for Andrew Freeman and company? Yeah, I mean, I kind of assume that they could use another high leverage reliever, especially with, you know, Bruce Starr-Gratterol being out until the second half, at least.
Starting point is 00:26:53 So, you know, is the bullpen, you know, set up well enough as is, I think, probably. You know, if the season tomorrow, I mean, it's hard to say that, you know, this roster has actual holes, right? That's kind of, it's kind of getting greedy at that point. But would they like someone more locked down to be their closer? And again, they have some pretty great options as is. But I think that's probably the one other thing that would be on the list.
Starting point is 00:27:23 We've seen and heard the Tanner Scott mentions a lot. It also seems like he's asking, his market is asking for, a pretty sizable chunk of change, something the Dodgers front office doesn't necessarily do with relievers. If you were to put, let's say, a percentage on the Dodgers landing at Tanner Scott, just ballparking, you know, you've watched baseball, you know how these offseason works.
Starting point is 00:27:51 How, where do you think they're at in terms of being able to actually land Tanner Scott? I mean, God, it's hard to say because, just in pure like, do they have the resources, what they shall out for him? I think, yeah, do they need to or what other teams offer more is kind of my question. So I would say, maybe like above 50, this is very, very general, I know.
Starting point is 00:28:24 Yeah, I know. Sorry, it's not a very confident answer. Hey, I mean, honestly, at this point, I would take 50-50. Yeah, I mean, you know, like with the Dodgers, that's kind of a good thing. The quieter they are, the more likely, nobody heard anything about the Kim deal going down. So the quieter they are and the quieter somebody like Tanner Scott's Market is or, you know, maybe Kike Hernandez, is that somebody you see them finding a way to move some pieces around? It's a very, very full 40-man roster and 26-man roster.
Starting point is 00:28:57 roster when you get to needing an active roster again, how do they make the pieces, you know, work to fit Kiki back into the equation? Yeah, that's what I've been wondering myself. And I have to wonder if, you know, once Roki Sasaki makes his decision and signs of the team, like, you know, that will obviously cause some movement. So with the Dodgers, I'm like, will that kind of clear up some of the middle infield, you know, surplus that they have going on. I think that's possible. But yeah, with Kiki, I mean, I think it makes sense to find a spot for him because he really, I remember thinking during the NL Division series last year after, I think, the first three games that, you know, this team really needed some sort of spark plug. And I was kind of wondering myself,
Starting point is 00:29:50 like, where does that come from? And then the answer was pretty obvious. one day later. Like he's he's the energy, you know, that I think the team really needs. And, you know, something about him and the Dodgers and the postseason, you know, it all just, it all just works. And I think he's a really important part of the team. I don't really know how that looks. I mean, I wonder if, you know, if they could get him in on a minor league contract or something like that. I don't know. It's kind of hard because, as you said it,
Starting point is 00:30:26 it is a really crowded 40-man roster, and there's a lot of just tough decisions going forward. Yeah, you have to get really, really super creative, and we also know they're going to need to make space for Clayton Kershaw at some point. They've already said, hey, he's coming back. I want to come back. That's going to happen. Expects to be, we should expect more headlines,
Starting point is 00:30:48 more insanity, more excitement. and more things for you to be writing about over the next, you know, month and change until spring training, everybody getting out there to Glendale, Arizona, so it should be fun. But we'll be watching. We'll be following you on Twitter and on, of course, Dodgers.com. Sonia, appreciate you joining us here today. Hopefully we can have you back soon and we're talking about maybe some Kike signings, maybe some crazy trades or whatever the hell happens from then or from now until spring training. But thanks again for joining.
Starting point is 00:31:18 Yeah, thanks so much for having me. Great to be here and yeah, great to be on the beat. Yeah, enjoy it. It's a lot more fun here in L.A. I'll tell you. It's as opposed to talking about, oh, everybody, you know, doesn't want, I'm not getting you in trouble with the Oakland fan base and MLB and all that. We'll keep things kosher for now.
Starting point is 00:31:35 But now we're going to throw to last licks. Thanks again to Sonia for joining us. But today we are talking about a couple of dogs that you all heard about on Thursday from Alana. These are Clyde and Corky. And these are four-month-old German Shepherd mixes, and they are in need of love, and they are in need of a home. And they are adorable-looking paparoni's if I do say so. How could you not want to pet those faces and give them all of the belly rubs? If you guys are interested in adopting and helping Alana and Gidreys Guardian in any way with fostering or donations, visit giddreysgardient.org.
Starting point is 00:32:21 Or, of course, slip into Alana's DMs. I'm sure she will very much appreciate that, as long as you're respectful about it. But those are the pups. Before we get out of here, guys, we've got to talk a little bit about one move the Dodgers. You know, they did. We talked about it at the beginning of the year.
Starting point is 00:32:39 One move they did, which was smart to me, and that was having a reintroductory press conference for Teoscar Hernandez. It became official, and we appreciate Teo and that smile and Mr. Seeds coming all the way back being home here with Los Angeles Dodgers. Listen, this is a team that is set up for success on success. It's a great time to be a fan of the Dodgers. I'll tell you what, and they're not done. We know they're not done.
Starting point is 00:33:09 Kike, Clayton Kershaw, you should be happy. I know some people here on the internet have, have, it's not a love-hate relationship with Clayton. it's more so worrying about the age. Yes, Clayton Kershaw is older. By the time opening day is here in 2025, he will be 37. We're in the twilight of Clayton Kershaw's career, but he still has something left in the tank. We saw it. We saw him pitching through injuries over the last couple of years.
Starting point is 00:33:36 But if we're part, you know, if he's mixing in part of that six-man rotation, given guys like Yamamoto time to be healthy, time guys like Otani to get himself healthy and ready to go, Glass now, keep him healthy and actually available for October, you want somebody like Clayton Kershaw in the mix. And wouldn't it be fun to send him off with a real ring, something he earned? Yeah, he got a ring this year in 2024, or last year in 24.
Starting point is 00:34:02 He told us during the parade, he's like, I didn't really feel like I earned this, but I'm happy to be here. Dodger for life. He won 1 in 20, should have won 1 in 17. But let's send him off, you know,
Starting point is 00:34:14 more hardware for Clayton Kershaw, but the Dodgers get better. bringing back Teo and there's just, there's, it, they're set up for a run of, I don't know if it's unprecedented success, but they are set up for success for years to come. That's about it for today's edition of the show. Hopefully you guys enjoyed it in some way, shape or form. I will be back on Thursday here. I should be joined by somebody. We don't know quite yet.
