Tanner Scott, if he performs like this,
will not be the closer, you know, in the late months of this season.
Holy heart attack Batman.
Here we were thinking it was going to be super easy, breezy,
a two-to-nothing lead in the ninth inning, and then bam!
Luis Matos comes out and ties up the ballgame with the long ball.
Hello, everybody, and welcome to the Sunday episode post-game.
of Dodgers territory. That is Clint Pisces, producer, director, talent, extraordinaire.
I am Alana Rizzo. We are your host for the next 30 minutes or so. Happy that you guys are with us.

We appreciate that very much. All right.
So, Clint, game 97.
It is Los Angeles at San Francisco.
It was a decently enjoyable game,
well pitched from both of the starters,
Yamamoto and Robbie Ray, both heading to the All-Star game.
And then things got a little wonky.
Enter Tanner Scott, your take.
Listen, I'm just happy that all of our pets' heads
are on. We're happy. We're healthy. The Dodgers got to win. They take the series in San Francisco,
but I mean, I wish we didn't have a rooting interest in this game because I think it was a very,
very good baseball game to watch beyond that. I wish we weren't doing a post game to this
because that was us just sitting here for 25 minutes waiting for this game to end or so,
which is fine. Joy, spending time with you here on the internet hanging out.
We had a lot of conversations.
I think we have good conversations.
What's wrong with you?
Well, listen, I'll tell you.
We would 100% get canceled, the people were listening in the back of the night.
Oh, a thousand percent.
I would have been canceled a billion years ago, but that's neither here nor there.
But, yeah, beyond that, Tanner Scott is obviously on everybody's mind.
I see the chat going off already.
And guys do share your thoughts in the chat about this game.
Give us some positive.
Give us some negative.
But, yeah, Tanner Scott, seventh blown save on the season coming off of blowing only two last year,
for the fish and the Padres.
Eight home runs allowed now.
That's the thing that scares me, Clint.
The eight home runs of the, yeah,
that he's allowed this season,
a bigger problem for the Dodger bullpen as a whole.
But really, I mean, he only had, what,
three home runs given up last year
as Fabian Ardaya, who does a tremendous job
covering the Dodgers for the athletic pointed out here.
I mean, eight home runs.
And think about that.
It's one thing if you're a starter, right?
And you give up eight home runs through 87 games.
or whatever. Obviously, you're taking the ball every fifth day. But as a closer, who typically
only gets the ball for one inning, your amount of opportunity to have mistakes is obviously,
well, number one, the mistakes are magnified. Number two, there's very little room for error.
And when you're only pitching an inning or, you know, a four-out save or whatever it is,
and you've given up eight long balls, that is problematic. It concerns me. From what you've seen,
is it something mechanical?
I mean, is it, what do you, what do you take away from the, the fact that he's given up the
long ball and doesn't necessarily feel like a shutdown closer that we need him to be,
at least right now?
Yeah, I mean, it seems like there was one part of mechanics in there that he's just,
earlier in the off season, or in the season, you know, they were talking about his,
his front side, front hip kind of flying open a little bit.
And that was leaving the ball high and apparently very hitable.
I don't know if maybe it shouldn't be an overuse situation.
It ideally shouldn't be the fact that you're playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers and the expectations of higher.
Of course, you're also playing other teams that are trying that much harder to beat the Dodgers.
It has to be a mechanical thing, but more so I think it's just a mental thing.
And it's less so about like, oh, I'm pitching for the Dodgers.
but it's more so that snowball of the first couple of those.
You start to see the headlines come out, people talking shit about you online,
and then the snowball happens where now he's going out there.
He's probably trying to be perfect, had two runs to play with,
and gave him both up on a pinch hit Homer.
But another kid, another dude who's absolutely going to benefit from this break,
but I'll ask you this.
Do you think he is still the closer after the All-Star break,
or do we kind of see Dave Roberts baby him?
you know, back into some confidence.
No, I think he's definitely the closer right out of the gate in the second half of the season.
It depends very much also on what Andrew Friedman does at this trade deadline coming up in a couple of weeks, right?
I mean, we are about 17, 18 days away from the trade deadline.
So do they go after another legitimate, dependable bullpen arm or does the break help?
Do they work on things mechanically?
Do they shift guys around in the bullpen?
I mean, there's not a lot, there's not as many moving parts that are available to be in a closer spot as there were.
Remember coming into the season, you and I were at Campbellback Granch.
And we literally asked both Tanner Scott and Kirby Yates, like there are 10 closers in this room right now, you know, who's the closer?
And Kirby Yates was like all of us.
And that might have to be the mentality that they have moving forward because they don't have Evan Phillips.
They don't have Blake Trinning.
They don't have bruised our lateral.
Tanner Scott has not been affected.
if Kirby Yates has had his struggles as well.
So is he the closer when we come out of the break?
Yes.
I think there's just a whole refresh and reset.
They're going to get three days off.
It's going to be good.
But this is not something that can happen in September or October.
Tanner Scott, if he performs like this, will not be the closer, you know, in the late
months of this season.
When it matters most.
That's a good thing.
We talk often about, like mostly have talked a lot about, you know, the
conformo angle of this.
But the Los Angeles Dodgers are still.
a very good baseball team. They have, you know, they're amongst the league leaders or
National League leaders and wins. They have a good enough lead in the National League West where
you can take your time to figure out if you're $20 million a year closer or reliever is
your closer or not. We saw them a couple of years ago. I mean, sorry everybody for bringing it up,
what is it, 21 or 22, but how much of a leash Craig Kimball got up until, you know, pretty much,
you know, got to postseason time.
Not that it ultimately mattered because they were bounced so quickly, but you have that
luxury.
That said, I'm going to take the opposite side of it.
I do think I would not be shocked if we hear Dave after this game and talking about Tanner
Scott, like, look, we're going to kind of give him a little bit of a rest.
Obviously, he's already going to have a rest at the All-Star break, but we're going
to give him a little of a different look coming out of the All-Star break and get his
confidence going.
Because I do think the confidence.
is the biggest struggle for him right now.
Okay, then who's the closer?
Committee.
Ben Casperius did a great job holding it down there in the 10th and 11th.
Okay, so let me get this straight.
So Ben Casperius, who was like built as a starter, okay,
is going to go from being a starter and being like the call-up guy, the accordion dude.
Like, we're going to stretch you out when we need you.
We're going to smash you back when we need you to come out of the bullpen.
And then all of a sudden he, you know, Kersh,
comes back,
Glasnow comes back.
And it's like,
all right,
all right,
Benjamin Keith Kasparius.
Something that you and I looked up
when we were waiting for this game to end
was what his middle name was.
I went with Franklin.
You looked it up.
It was actually Keith.
So now we're going to throw him in the bullpen,
which we've done.
And then you're going to say,
by the way,
now you're going to be our closer.
I don't know that that's,
I don't know that that's the right move,
the good move.
I mean,
he has the mentality of being a strikethower.
And I don't think for him,
the ninth inning versus the eighth or the seventh inning will be that big of a difference.
I'm not saying he's...
He wasn't a starter.
Now he's going to be a closer.
Like, I think there's a progression.
They kind of, it kind of dicked him around when it came to being a starter.
It was like, oh, he's going to be a starter.
And then he was put into a bulk roll.
Like, he never actually really officially started.
I think he started two games.
And I don't think Benny Capps was ever really allowed to get into a rhythm there.
That's, you know, opinion more than anything.
But I'm not saying this is a dude who's going to be like de facto.
He's going to go out there and get every save opportunity.
But I think he's somebody to borrow a Dave Robertsism, get the lion's share of those ninth inning opportunities if he can lock him down.
Because otherwise, you know, Kirby Yates hasn't been exceptional.
He's been fine.
Has not been exceptional going out there, outing per outing.
And again, Tanner Scott just giving him a different look.
as I think the call right now because you can and make sure you get the confidence built up over the next
couple of months. So, you know, when meaningful baseball happens in October, he can be locked in.
We do have a couple of super chats and people's with some thoughts on it.
300 GJW with the $10 super chat.
Thank you very much.
I think Scott is tipping a slider.
Interesting opinion there.
He's not getting the swing and miss on it.
The velocity is good.
Still need a bullpen arm sooner than better.
I appreciate you 300 G.
I don't know that that's the case because if that was the case, if it early on in his struggles, they would have figured up that was happening and they probably would have corrected it. I think it's more of a broader brush in terms of struggles. Maybe it's mental. I don't know. I haven't talked to Tanner Scott. I don't like to pontificate on what is happening with a guy mentally. I mean, this is something that I would like to have a conversation with Josh Bard about. I mean, I've tried to get Josh on this show a couple of times. It has not worked out schedule-wise.
but I do hope to be able to talk to him.
But yeah, I think if he was tipping pitches,
that's something that could have been evaluated when he's really struck.
I mean, this is not like he's just struggling this outing.
I mean, he is consistently struggled over the course of the season.
There's been a couple of bright spots,
but by and large, he's not been the guy that he wants to be.
He's not been the guy that the Dodgers need him to be.
Yeah, and I think for the greater part right now,
looking at the chat, people are not opposed to a different look in the ninth inning.
And again, it's fine.
It's not a slight on him.
Tanner Scott is fully aware of the situation.
He's struggling.
And thankfully, the Dodgers do come back and win this game.
As I said, as we put on the graphic earlier here,
they come from ahead to go ahead and still win,
still take the series in San Francisco.
Yeah, you're a funny guy.
You're such a wordsmith.
That's unbelievable.
Well, I gave you some sort of weird-ass word salad.
I don't even remember what it was.
By the way, we will have our official first half recap show and review and all that tomorrow.
12 o'clock Pacific time, 3 p.m. Eastern, due to-in.
Check that out.
It should be fun.
We got some positives in this game.
I think we should take a minute to hear from, is it?
Yeah, we're hearing from our friends first at foul territory.
Then we'll be back.
More comments hanging out with the chat.
Hey, let's do a little player spotlight.
thanks to Arena Club.
AJ, give me a player this season
that you think is underrated
and you might want to try and grab his card.
James Wood.
I don't know that he's underrated,
but Washington National's superstar in the making
and the first slab pack I ever opened
had him in his rookie card
and the value's only going to go up and up and up.
I'm not going to sell it quite yet, Scott.
I'm going to hold on to it
because after he continues to hit big homers
and put up the stats,
make all-star teams,
it's going to get more expensive
for someone to buy for me.
This is his first full season in the majors.
keep that in mind. I think he's underrated. He's on a nationals team that's meh.
I'm not getting enough attention. He might have underrated.
When he makes the All-Star team this year, they're not going to be underrated.
That helps. He's been intentionally walked four times in a game. Anyway, if you want to try and find a wood
rookie card, go check out slab packs on Arena Club. And right now you can get 20% off your first
slap pack or if you just want to go with a card purchase. Go to aranacl. Use code foul.
If you buy, sell, trade, collect, go for it.

Dunkin Jules. All right, real quick. Take a look at yourself right now. Why? What's wrong?
Nothing's wrong. You look like a guy running on three hours of sleep and vibes.
Okay. Yeah. I'm tired. Kind of cranky and very thirsty.
Congrats. Those are some of the potential signs of mild dehydration. And I bet your last bathroom
break showed you another sign. Your body might be throwing you a penalty flag. So what's the
play call? Liquid IV hydration multiplier.
One stick in water helps hydrate faster than water alone.
Okay, but where's the proof?

Like we said, positives from this game.
Stop motion.
Hooray, two wins in a row.
If we could clear it, I would totally be playing.
Celebrate kids.
Come out.
I know it sounds silly, right?
I get it.
It does.
But I would much rather go into the All-Star break,
having won two games in a row against the Giants.
two were trying to creep up against the Dodgers in the division, then continue that slide of,
you know, seven straight losses and go into the break with nine straight losses. So that is a
positive. Another positive is Yamamoto looked really good, right? Yamamoto had a good pitching
performance. His last start for going to the All-Star game, seven innings, three hits, no earned
runs, just the two walks, seven K, so they had the swing and miss there. He finishes the first,
this is Clint Pesias's Cy Young Award winner in the National League, you guys. He finishes the first half
of the season with the 259 ERA, fifth best in the NL. And he's had some stinkers. So this has been,
that was a really, really good outing for him. I'm pleased to see that, right? And he gets the
break. He can enjoy this first All-Star game experience. My guess is he's not pitching,
obviously, since he just pitched today. But, you know, there's another couple of positives.
Andy Pahas should be in the All-Star game. I realize there is a log jam in center field,
not only in the National League, but in the American League.
You know, Seidon Rafael of the Red Sox should be there too, but I get it.
It's just a space issue.
But he, remember when I wanted to send Andy Pahas to the moon?
I apologize, sir.
He's done really, really well offensively, obviously.
His defense is getting better.
It's not the same type of defense that James Outman has given us, could give us in the
outfield, but Outman can't hit at the big league level.
So, you know.
That play in center field in the 11th.
beautiful play by James Outman.
Yeah, we were yelling.
Yeah, I was yelling.
If he could just hit, if he could just hit.
If Jimmy could hit, my God, the defense would be a different story for this ball club.
Unfortunately, Jimmy Outman cannot hit a baseball at the Major League level.
It's, I hope to be, you know, proven wrong.
I hope he finds a way to whatever happened to Andy Pa has the ability to play both sides of the ball, you know, pretty fucking good.
If we can get that out of James Outman, it would be a very different look for this ball club.
You had mentioned, though, two in a row.
You take the series against the hated, the rival, the real rival, San Francisco Giants.
A little bit ago, Richie Flores with 499 Super Chat, says it was freshing to watch two real rivals playing baseball without the drama queens wearing golden brown also throws it.
Is he referring to the Padres?
Perhaps.
Is that he referring to him?
Perhaps, perhaps.
Perhaps.
And another stadium parking that we get it.
Yeah, I appreciate that.
Okay, a couple things that are a little bit concerning.
I know we're supposed to be talking about positives here,
but there are some things that are a little bit concerning to me.
Mookie is struggling.
He continues to struggle.
Tommy Edmund has been struggling since a hot start to the season.
Freddie, as you mentioned in our production notes, I appreciate that.
Still mostly struggling with the fastball.
I mean, Mookie and Freddie, they need the break badly, especially Mookie.
I feel like Mookie is really good.
going to benefit from, you know, having three days off.
First time in a long time, he's not an all-star.
I mean, Freddie's going.
Mookie's not.
So really taking a step back and just getting a, hopefully he just can get away from it.
And him and he and Brianna and the kids can go and do.
Yeah, I'm happy he didn't get a, uh, your Mookie bet.
So you're just going to be an all-star sort of nod.
He didn't deserve it.
He didn't earn it.
And he needs that break.
He absolutely needs that break.
And this is something we were talking to, uh, to,
Dave Vasse about on Thursday,
whatever time has no meaning.
But I love what he said.
He said the same thing.
Those boys, they need some time off.
They absolutely mooky more than anybody.
Freddie, you know, he's hurt.
There's something wrong with him.
The leg is hurt.
And he's got the quad thing.
He's got the ankle thing.
And it's led to some issues in the swing.
And he just can't get out of those issues.
But another guy, I don't think gets talked about enough.
Tommy Edmund has been struggling mightily since his hot month of April.
Of course, he went down with the ankle issue, eventually kind of aggravated that,
now playing with a broken pinky toe.
But these-
I mean, I don't know if you need, you know, again, I don't like to break down stuff mechanically.
I've never played.
I don't know.
But I would think you need it to push off.
I would think you need it to run well.
I don't know.
I mean, isn't the pinky, like,
like kind of like for balance somebody out there some medical person out there
jump on the chat let me know what we need our pinky toe for I mean you should be I think
people don't see my batting stance right now because it's not really visual visual here but you're
sitting but I could feel it and you're mostly on or I mean I'm not a good hitter I will
put that out there it's for everybody to understand I'm not a good hitter but you're mostly
on the big toes you're kind of like you shouldn't be it shouldn't need a lot of
Pinky toe running. Running is where that should affect you the most. Cutting, you know,
making a turnaround basis. And, you know, this is just me being weird and obviously
having fun here on a Sunday. We have our, I have my came and Jack. You have your wine. Listen.
Mine's out though. I'm out.
Where the hell's Chris here? Come on. I know. I feel like, Chris. Where's your,
wine wench? If you, if Alana Rizzo was trying to
to swing a baseball bat here. What, what's the stance? What are you doing? Who are you emulating? That's what I
need to know. I don't know. Like, I'm, I am so awkward. You got some, like, I don't know. Like, this is
why, like, I ran cross country and track. I have like no, I can dance, but I can't, I can't do much
else. Like, I don't, I don't know. My, my, my, I'm sure my stance would be terrible, like,
my first pitch would be terrible. Are you going to do one of those ones where it's like little
little league stance? No, no, no, I can do a little bit better than that. I would hope, because you know,
you've been around a baseball, around baseball for a lot of
long fucking time. I've been around baseball of really long time, but I would still be terrified to
throw out the first pitch. And I don't think I could make contact and I don't think I could
get a ball out of the infield. Even if it was like a meatball right down the pike, I don't think I can do it.
I mean, honestly, it sounds perfect for my slow pitch softball team, my co-ed team. So you're hired.
We'll bring her aboard. You'll fly out each Wednesday. We'll lose. We'll drink in the park.
Sure. We'll fly out each Wednesday. And then we'll get you back home just in time to do fair with
Ken on Thursday morning.
Okay. Perfect.
I was hoping Mr. Classic would see the Gary Sheffield, of course.
That's what I want.
I want the chef in there.
You got to get the chef.
You know, something like that.
You know, a good swing right now you can emulate is Miguel Rojas.
Dude's been on a tear.
He's in like, he's in like, he's in like, 360 or something like that.
I had the notes somewhere.
I thought he was going to draw a walk, and then he just hit the ball over the damn fence.
What a man.
What a dude.
What a man, what a man.
Whose thing's that?
Go ahead.
Oh, my God.
How do I not remember that right now?
It caught me off guard with that because I was trying to do stats and numbers and host our show here, or at least co-hosted.
But Miguel Rojas, 360, the OPS over 1100 in his last 18 game.
What is it?
What?
Alton Pepper.
That's right.
No, she got it.
Selina.
Did Selena say that she?
Yeah, yeah.
Listen, I would have got there.
I'm very disappointed in myself.
Very disappointed in my, listen.
As an elder millennial, I have failed us all for not pulling up.
Well, I don't know.
That's not very millennial.
That was more me.
Yeah, but I mean, I'm still, hell.
That was a round.
It was a round for it.
It's my sister's error.
But anyways, I just want to point that out there or put that out there into the ethos.
You know, if you are going to try to find a swing, maybe take some lessons from Miguel Rojas because he's on a tear right now.
And by the way, higher OPS right now than Marcus Lynn Betts.
and Thomas, I forget his middle name, Edmund.
Let's go with Thomas.
It's Hinsu.
Hinsu.
It's Thomas Hinsu Edmund.
I remembered I just didn't want to, I just didn't want to say it.
All right, we got one more break, and then we're going to come back and actually talk about Dodgers,
and we'll get your guys' thoughts and comments and all that kind of stuff.
But give us a moment.
We will be right back.
Ah, summer.
We almost forgot what it feels like.
To play just because.
but even summer needs backup.
A little partner in the good kind of chaos.
Someone to bring the kung food kicks.
Haya!
To train some dragons.
Fly, young dragon rider.
Fly.
The kind of fun that keeps the days going
that turns living rooms into playgrounds
and reminds us what our bodies
and our hearts were made for.
Play that moves you.

asking the important question here. Oh, no, I have his answer though. So the three
mile time I don't know, Edwin, but I will tell you this. Back in the day,
100 years ago, when I ran cross-country and track, I ran a mile in 452.
My mile time is under 5.
It was.
Now I can't run up the stairs without passing out.
Let me be very clear about that, okay?
But I ran a mile under 4-5-2, and at the time, I am in my high school Hall of Fame
for running.
At the time, I was pretty, pretty, pretty good.
Now I am old, out of shape, and I can't.
but I did run a mile under five minutes.
Would you walk 500 miles?
I would walk 500 more if we went another world series.
Guys, everybody was here as a witness.
That's a thousand miles that Alana will walk,
which maybe put us close enough here to L.A.
and we'll do a show together here in the, the,
all-dodgous man.
No, I mean, a thousand miles from here,
we're basically, I'll meet you in Chicago.
All right, we'll get some.
We'll get some deep dish.
We'll get some deep dish.
All right.
So let's talk about, we are really off the rails here.
Yeah, yeah.
Hey, let's talk about the good things.
Andy and Shannon Sabala, if I'm saying that, right, says, hey, Clint, first time caller.
Long time.
What's that, guys?
Welcome to our show.
Dodgers are still in first place, even after sucking for a long time.
And we keep circling back to this.
The Dodgers are very good at baseball.
They have a very good ball club.
Yeah, it sucks to see them lose seven in a row.
but I don't like to focus on that anymore.
They've won two in a row, Alana.
And what is it?
Four and a half game lead over the Padres.
Yes, and we are so spoiled.
Five and a half game.
And there's always opportunities to pick.
And there's always opportunities to find the holes that we're always constantly trying to fill.
But you think about the fact, I mean, any team, all you can ask for at the end of the first half of the season is to be in first place in your division.
Season ends today.
We're division winners, right?
I mean, like, what else could they have done?
Have a 20 game lead in the division?
I mean, I get it.
But like, let's keep this into perspective, right?
They did exactly.
Checked off the first box.
They are in first place in the division at the All Star break.
Done.
That's what you want.
And then when they come out of the break, they would try.
And we're already half, we're already more than halfway in terms of games played, right?
We played 97 games.
I mean, the halfway point is supposed to be 81, right?
Yeah.
We're past that.
We're well past that.
16 games.
So again, now you take a break, you reset.
As much as I'm thankful and proud of him and all those things, like Dave and his coaching staff and Freddie and all the guys that are going, I mean, they have the whole All-Star game and break to get through too.
They don't get a ton of time off.
I get it.
But, you know, it is.
It's a taxing season.
And then you start the second half the season and you kick ass.
You hope that Andrew Friedman will do what he's done.
His entire tenure is a Dodger.
He will fill the holes that we perceive.
have right now. And then hopefully Blake's now comes back. I don't know where Rokey Sasaki is.
If he's on witness protection, I would like to get a little plate on and figure out what he's doing.
Hopefully, Gladysnow continues to do well. You know, like this is a team that is built for October.
And they will get there and it will be fine. I still believe wholeheartedly they win the division.
I still believe wholeheartedly they go deep into the postseason. But let's just keep things into perspective.
Now, I do want to ask you this, Clint, Bob Nightingale, who writes and has for a
long time with USA Today brought up that the Arizona Diamondbacks, who I don't believe are going to
make the postseason. And I actually had a conversation and it's going to air on foul territory next
week with Jack Summers, who does a great job covering the Diamondbacks. And he is the host,
one of the hosts of Snake's territory. Jack does not believe that the Diamondbacks will make the
postseason. And honestly, I don't either. They have two been decimated by injury, the biggest one being
Corbin Burns, obviously. Bob Knight and Gil seems to think that the Diamondbacks obviously are
sellers, okay? Or at least willing to entertain some trades.
Eugenio Suarez, Zach Gallin, Merrill Kelly, Josh Naylor.
I don't necessarily, I'm not, I mean, Josh Naylor, whatever, but Zach
Gallen and Merrill Kelly, throw out their numbers this season with the diamond back
you guys, because they've been injured.
Throw that out.
But if they can come and go into this rotation and not have to be the man, which is what
they ended up having to be with Corbyn Burns going out and Jordan Montgomery,
obviously, like having the Tommy John surgery and the whole situation with Jordan Montgomery,
with Ken Kendrick saying it was a huge mistake that they signed him and this, that, and the other thing.
I'll take Carol Kelly in the Dodgers starting rotation.
I'll take a Zach Gallen and the Dodgers starting rotation.
Absolutely.
Now, you brought up the best point, though, Clint.
Would the diamond backs be willing to trade to the Dodgers and in the division?
Yeah, I don't feel it.
I think they've kind of voiced that.
Ken Kendrick has voiced that in the past.
obviously they're chasing the Dodgers,
much like everybody in the NOS,
wants to chase the Dodgers,
chase the dragon or whatever,
slay the dragon as the Padres did a couple years ago,
only for the dragon to come back and beat their ass last year.
They have pieces.
The Dodgers have pieces.
They could take, you know, in return.
I just don't see,
I don't see an intra-division trade happening.
For one, I also think,
looking at those names,
and I'll put it back on the screen here,
Suarez is honestly, in my opinion, the only one that really makes sense, just because they do have pitching coming back.
You know, you just got Glasnow back.
All right.
Where is he playing?
And who are you getting rid of?
Well, the good thing about Swarres, I mean, he can, if I'm not mistaken.
I think he's played around the field a little bit.
But it's third base until Muncie comes back.
And then you figure out either him at third or Muncie at second or however it works.
but you could make it work for somebody that adds 35 home run pop to a hot corner or the keystone.
That said, again, I still don't think the diamondbacks are willing to trade with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
That's just, that's how I, that's how probably every, a lot of people view it that way.
But the fact that they're selling, though, that's.
A. Eugenio Suarez would be a massive get to.
I get that.
But I also feel like we have a lot of A.U.
Henio Suarez is that can play all over the place.
And we've, you know, we've already obviously got, you know, DFA, Chris Taylor and
all the things.
And I understand that Kiki is on the IL.
It's not forever.
But I don't know.
I think a good, not necessarily even a frontline starter because we are getting
Blake Snell back, hopefully, you know, all the things.
But I would not mind a Zach Kelly or a, excuse me, Zach Callan or Merrill Kelly.
And yeah, I just, we'll just smash them together.
Like, it's like, if we could smash on Dupon,
has and James Outman together, we would do it.
Yeah, so we'll see.
I doubt you're right.
I believe you.
I think that I don't think that they will trade with us, but that would be cool.
Wishful thinking, right?
Wishful thinking for sure.
You know, it's good.
We're at that point, though, finally where there's going to start being some movement,
some rumors, some trade things we could break down.
They need to be active.
I don't think they need to be active on the starting pitching front, but we know they, like a reliever,
like one of the things Vasset was telling us on Thursday, a reliever,
I still would love to see most likely an outfielder
or somebody that can move around infield outfield,
but you need one more upside bat
because even as Conforto's kind of played a little bit better
in recent vintage, you know, I don't feel it.
I mean, Corso was not a big reason,
but he was a reason. They won the game yesterday.
Out of all of the reasons, he was one of them for sure.
Listen, oh wow, wow.
By the way, Manuel, Alana, who spelled my name wrong,
no harm intended, but your profile looks better.
Yeah, Manuel, you know what?
I'm sure you don't look great every day either.
I mean, if you're gonna say stupid shit on the chat,
what is the point?
Like, what is the point of that?
Like, you're an idiot.
Like, bye, Manuel.
Please get off our channel.
Thanks for the click.
I mean, it's so stupid.
Coal, live stream Alana walk for charity.
That I would do.
I would absolutely walk a thousand miles for charity.
That I would do.
Richard Flores says that he could crush three street tacos in two and a half seconds
because I said I could run a mile under five minutes.
I believe him, actually.
I totally believe him, by the way.
I'm in on that.
I can do that.
If we can do a taco, some sort of taco charity event, dude, I am all the way in.
Not much else to add to this one.
We are again, we're going to be live tomorrow, but I don't want to talk too much.
I don't care about talking Derby or All-Star Game tomorrow.
With that said, you have any All-Star Game?
game predictions? Is it going to be AL or NL? We'll keep it simple. Who wins?
No, I really do feel that the National League is such a better league. I have felt that way
the last couple of years. If you even look at the path, albeit the extra wild cards in each
league and all of that stuff, I do believe that the National League is tougher. I think there's
better teams. I think the parity in the National League is better. I think there's a lot more teams
that could legitimately go all the way in the National League. Then I think there's maybe a handful
of teams in the American League.
I don't know.
For some reason, the American League always seems to win the All-Star game.
I mean, again, whatever.
Here's what I do like.
Here's what I like about the All-Star game.
Here's what I don't like about the All-Star game.
A couple things.
What I love about the All-Star game this year is that everybody is wearing their
their respective team jersey.
I remember growing up watching baseball and I wasn't a massive baseball fan as a kid,
but I do love All-Star games when everyone wears their respective team.
uniform. I think that's cool. And you see guys, you know, the Dodgers standing next to the Giants
and the pot. You know, you see that. And I just, I love that look. I think it's really cool. It's
really, really special in the game. What I don't like about the All-Star game is a guy like Jake
Mizorowski, not his fault. I'm not suggesting one iota that it's his fault. Of course the kid
is going to accept it and go. And he should because the invitation was given to him. But he has
pitched, what, 29 innings, maybe five starts? I don't know.
even know.
It's right in that pocket.
Since you know so much, why don't you fact check me on how many innings
Mizorosky has pitched?
He already got banned.
But the point is he does not deserve to be on the All-Star team.
He was named to it and that's fine and he should go because the invitation was afforded
to him.
But if I'm the Philadelphia Phillies and Ranger Suarez and Christopher Sanchez are not
on the All-Star team, look at the numbers.
So that bothers me about the All-Star game is the popularity contest.
somebody said the other day, I want to say it was Trey Turner.
I apologize if it wasn't.
He was like, it's not the Savannah bananas.
It's not.
Like the all-star game is supposed to be for the all-stars.
And that's why I'm glad that Mookie didn't get it because Mookie and he will tell you was not an all-star this year.
And it should be, it should be based on your numbers and having guys, like guys playing over their skis is who should be in the all-star game.
So thank you for coming to my TED talk.
It's not who's been the hottest, like, hottest headline for the last two weeks or something like that.
I fully agree with you on that.
And obviously, some people are going to try to spin this or clip this as it's, you know, old lady yells at a cloud or whatever.
No, but it's just facts.
This kid did not earn it.
He showed up.
He's had a hot, you know, again, five starts.
I think it is like you had mentioned.
That's not enough.
Like, the league hasn't even caught up to the dude yet.
Yeah.
No, they don't have enough of a book on him.
And again, he hasn't even had his first.
No, O'Donnie Boy was saying it was Nick Castellanos.
I do believe it was Castellanos.
I knew it was a Phyllis.
Trey Turner also had an opinion as well.
Yeah, I mean, most of the Phillies did because two of their really good pitchers got host.
So I get it.
But again, and like every year we always talk about all-star snubs.
I get it.
Andy Pahas could very well be there.
As I mentioned, Say-Don Raphael could very well be there.
The freaking Cubs have something to say.
Sayas Suzuki, look at Sayas Suzuki's numbers.
When the All-Star game roster was announced,
Saya Suzuki led the league in RBI.
He's not an all-star Michael Bush.
So anyway.
Sayah, I believe, is the most egregious omission from this all-star team.
Saya has been an absolute.
Fernando is not an all-star.
No.
Julio Rodriguez is not an all-star.
No.
But, you know, but again, it's the name.
It's the recognition.
It's the popularity.
And I don't fault the player.
I never fault the player.
Okay?
I fault the system.
It is what it is.
So there you have that.
Well, there's us complaining about more things.
They tune in every time we're live for us to complain about things.
Tomorrow we're not complaining.
Tomorrow we're doing a couple kind.
I mean, it's like it's a first half of the season wrap up, okay?
But we have a lot of good things to say because the Los Angeles Dodgers are in first place in the National League West.
Take that to the bank.
Enjoy your All-Star break.
But guys, enjoy us tomorrow too.
Yeah.
