The Oscar said, I love the pressure. I love the moment. So that's stuff you love to see and you love to hear, especially from a guy in a one-year contract. Hey, everybody, what is going on?
Starting point is 00:02:14 After an unbelievable weekend, it is Monday. We are here to talk about it. Welcome everyone to Dodgers territory with Clint Paseas. I'm Alana Rizzo, taking you through the next half an hour of our show as we talk all things Dodgers. Scott Geerman is going to be joining us momentarily. Don't forget to like us. Subscribe.

All right, it's a big weekend. We got into the weekend, Clint, and I said they needed to show me something, and they did.
Starting point is 00:02:46 Let's get into the big ticket. What do you take away from it, my friend? What did you sit on your couch? I know you and I were texting each other back and forth. What's your biggest takeaway? You know what? That series was a lot more fun than I was anticipating. Game one got me into it.
Starting point is 00:03:05 You know, I got a little bit of crap about my feelings entering that series. I didn't look at it very, you know, I didn't care about the series very much. I wasn't going to look at this and be like, it wasn't a measuring stick series to me. But then the Dodgers decided to go out and put that Pirates series behind them, put the lack of momentum they had entering that series into this Yankee series. And they made it fun. They got me invested. It was good for baseball. The Dodgers go in there.
Starting point is 00:03:34 They take two of three. They do what they're supposed to do. You had that opportunity to sweep. You could not ask for much more than that. Taking two of three in New York against his powerhouse Yankees. And yeah, Yankees didn't have Soto. You didn't face a Garrett Cole. He didn't face Marcus Stroman, but doesn't matter.
Starting point is 00:03:51 Dodgers took two or three, and that's what you want to see. I loved your tweet. TAYO.M.G. He was unbelievable. I don't know who was more impressive. Teasker Hernandez with the nine RBI, the three home runs, obviously, including a grand slam. Or Yoshinovo Yamamoto, stepping up on the biggest stage. He could have easily been a Yankee.
Starting point is 00:04:06 He wanted to be a Dodger. He pitched so well in the Bronx. And Clint, for those that were thinking, hey, you know, can he pitch in a big game? Question answered. Well said right there. That was one of thinking back, you know, if I had went into that series with a different mindset, I definitely would have looked at that Yoshinobu Yamamoto start with a different lens. Of course, I still watch it, still look at the lens of this is a guy that can step up on these big stages. And it's something this Dodgers team has missed over the last few years in a postseason series. So if this had all the pomp and circumstance
Starting point is 00:04:41 and all the excitement of a postseason series and Yoshinobu Yamamoto was able to go out there and drop seven dominant innings did not look stressed at any point. He looked like he was on cruise control. That is fun to see. That is exciting to think about for the future in a couple of months for this Dodgers team. When we hit in October and the next real meaningful baseball. Yeah, no question about it. I mean, they need to do this in October. And it's very, very probable that if the daughters make it to the World Series, they will face the Yankees.
Starting point is 00:05:13 But I'm glad that they had such a successful weekend. They won a very close game in extra innings on Friday. Then they had a bit of a blowout on Saturday. I understand they didn't win game three. I don't expect them to go into the Bronx and sweep. I do think they, if we could give Tyler Glasnow a bit of freaking run support, that would be helpful. He's six and five on the year, but he hasn't gotten a ton of run support. But I'm very pleased.
Starting point is 00:05:34 I give this team an A minus as far as the way that they handle things in the Bronx and an A plus to Pantone 2-94 for showing up huge, taking over the Bronx. Dodger fans representing it was awesome. Let us welcome in Scott German, one of our friends of the program. We always appreciate what he does for us here as we continue on Dodgers territory. And Scott, Clint said he wasn't really paying attention. I was very much paying attention in terms of like a measuring stick. Where was your level of interest in and did you get out of this series,
Starting point is 00:06:04 you needed to see. Oh, I was, I'm, Alana, I'm 100% with you. I was fully invested. I was interested. I was measuring the team to look ahead because Clinton and I have spoke about it. And I think it makes a lot of sense. With how much parity there is in terms of non-division leaders around the National League, the American League, I think all I can do for myself is measure these teams against other division winners or leaders and then teams that are, you know, big games, big moments. And this series was exactly that. you got to see managing, you got to see pitching. It confirmed a lot of the things about the Dodgers.
Starting point is 00:06:39 It confirmed a lot of the things about Aaron Judge and what he can do with the Yankees lineup. So I was all in. It was just incredible stuff here. Yeah, pull the tweet up on there. It was, for me, it was the second series of the year where I was saying, okay, this is something we can look ahead now and we can say this is going to be playoff type environments, high quality offenses. You can see how they're going to manage.
Starting point is 00:07:02 And it lived up to every little bit of hype. You know, just before you came on here, we're talking about Yamamoto stepping up on the big stage, really seeing Dodgers fans seeing what he can do in this sort of series, in this sort of environment. Another thing we saw, another, maybe more, less heralded, less exciting offseason signing, but somebody you and I both loved Teosker Hernandez stepped up big time, big time on the big stage. Would you like about Teo and his massive week in there? Just the ability for the moment. The feel for, you know, I spoke with another friend that he said it's the type that you are afraid of, like Adola Scarcio, Jorge Saler.
Starting point is 00:07:41 They're free swingers. And those are type of guys that pitchers do not like to face because, you know, we spoke. I mean, I keep thinking about really a fun moment right before the season, right before the regular season start domestic. I was like, Tiosker is my X factor for the year because he's not afraid to go up and just swing. He's going to hit a pitch when it's a hangar. he will not miss it. And all the clips you're showing, he did exactly that. You know, he goes out there, can find a barrel and just do damage on his own. And he said, I generally hate in-game interviews with players because we've seen the ball find them and it goes wrong. But it left you. Yeah, yeah, exactly that.
Starting point is 00:08:17 And he said, he's hilarious out there. But Teosker said, I love the pressure. I love the moment. So that's stuff you love to see and you love to hear, especially from a guy in a one-year contract. but Teosker goes 500 for a series. He's a difference maker every single time he's up there. And I don't know about you, Alana Clint, but when Teosker is up there and he's down in account, even O2, if a pitcher doesn't make an exact pitcher's pitch, I'm ready for Teosker to do damage.
Starting point is 00:08:42 And he showed that it doesn't matter. He's up there. There's some guys just have a knack for finding ways to drive runners in. And Teosker is exactly who they need in the offense. The Dodgers, yeah. And let's think about the offseason signings as far as outfielders are concerned. guys. You take a look at the fact that he was a free agent. I believe it was $23.5 million. He deferred about $8.5 million of it. So whatever, he's making $13 million a year just for the one-year deal.
Starting point is 00:09:07 But you think about the jock Peterson's of the world. Obviously, Cody Bellinger, in the middle of a three-year, $80 million deal. Gereal Jr. A lot of guys in the NL. West outfielers were concerned. Teoska Hernandez, he leads the team in RBI. He leads the team in home runs. By the way, his teammate is Shohay Otani, and he still leads the team in home runs. I mean, this is a guy that is given this team, I think more that they even could bargain for. I'd lock this. I'd lock this kid up for another, you know, like another couple, two, three year deal. That's what I'm saying right now, by the way.
Starting point is 00:09:39 We got, yeah, player. We got Diane Schroeder saying, Extente, Oscar. This is one of those guys. You know, this is something we also talked about, Scott. The outlook in the outfield is not very good even, I mean, right now and beyond this season. This is somebody that needs to be a Dodger for the next three to five years. You think this is something, uh, do they, do they, do they try?
Starting point is 00:09:57 to figure something out now or you wait to the season and you talk about it after celebrating a championship that extension. I'd honestly like if he's open for it absolutely like he's the type of bad he's been hyper consistent throughout you know for several years and a guy like this hitting the free agent market doesn't happen very often especially someone you know who can project like he does. He doesn't have big time splits he's going to be out there every single day. You know what you're getting on defense and that's fine but he's making up for it with his bat. You can play the plus minus game with him. How many runs is he allow in defense? That's whatever. He'll have his moments, and that's just how it goes. But he's going to go up there. He's going to slug. He's going to find
Starting point is 00:10:33 barrels. He's not going to do much in terms of walking. He's going to strike out a lot because he is a three true outcome guy. But he's just some players, it just keeps drawing me back to. Some guys just have a knack for extra bases. And he's exactly one of them. And just like you said, Clint, Dodger fans can look at the prospects. We all can. There's not much in terms of the outfield. Andy Pahez, James Alman, we don't know what he's going to be. Andy Pyes, we have to kind of look and project. I like what I'm seeing, by the way, from Andy Pahas. He showed me a ton.
Starting point is 00:11:02 We can chat about that, too. He's had a ton of upside. But there's not much there. The cupboard is pretty bare, and it's an uncomfortable feeling with the farm system that there's nobody completely ready to go where you're like, yep, set them and forget them and go from there. And that's why on the trade market, there's a lot of stuff we have to talk about. But, Teasper, if he's open to extension talks,
Starting point is 00:11:23 if that's something the Dodgers want to do, they can dip back into their resources after the year and go again, but it's somebody I would for sure be trying to get for another couple years. Hello, hello. I'm Malcolm Gladwell, host of Smart Talks with IBM. I recently spoke with IBM's new director of research, Jake Gambata. We discussed his vision for the future of quantum computing. At IBM research, what we always do is answer what is the future of computing, whether it's coming up with new algorithms, coming up with better AI, coming up with quantum,
Starting point is 00:11:59 or coming up with just how do different accelerators go together. It's our DNA to answer the question of what is the future. Isn't it a perfect problem for IBM because you kind of need to have a legacy of building stuff? Yes. Building actual physical machines. Yeah, it's why I came to IBM. I wanted the experience, the culture of building, hard things that others have not done before.
Starting point is 00:12:26 Where do you imagine we are in the timeline of this technology? There will come a point when it will mature. Right? My cell phone is a mature technology at this point. How far are we from that point with Conton? By 2029, we'll build the first fault-tolerant quantum computer. That is one that can run a very, very large, large problem. To learn how IBM is building the future of computing,

It does a great job covering this team. And Scott, let me ask you this. You were talking about trade deadline. We're about a month and a half away from that intrepid deadline. We've talked at length about lack of production from the outfield.
Starting point is 00:15:09 And that, of course, stems a little bit from Mookie being moved from right to the shortstop position. We see what Teosker has done. Do you see Luis Robert Jr. in the Dodgers outfield come the deadline? Does that make sense for you? It makes all the sense in the world. It makes a sense for a lot of teams. I think it's something that the Dodgers have a fair amount of competition in terms of the Philadelphia affiliates with trade packages. But, yeah, he's my new number one.
Starting point is 00:15:36 He will stay there. It's a cost-controlled center fielder, someone who can perform at a high level. Injury concerns, absolutely. And that was the same thing with Tyler Glassdown and the Dodgers invested in him. It remains to be seen how much Andrew Friedman wants to dip into the prospect capital. but the rumor came out from Bob Nightingale about the White Sox asking for a package near Juan Soto. Reach for the Stars, White Sox. I respect it.
Starting point is 00:16:00 I appreciate it. You have to. He's going to be a big ticket. They got him on a pennies type of contract. It's unbelievable what they were able to sign, you know, Luis Robert, too. But it's something that with how bare it is and the options projecting forward for the Dodgers in center field, left field, wherever, there's not much there. and if an opportunity to get a controllable outfielder in this current championship window, and everybody green lights it, it's something you have to do.
Starting point is 00:16:28 You have to explore it to its fullest, and you can't lowball it. If it's there, you've got to go for it. Yeah, we're talking about Lou Bob coming to the Dodgers. We already have a natural trade partner there with those white socks. They came together with trade last year. I think they all know each other's prospects and whatnot. And, you know, Andy Paix, Teasca Hernandez, Luis Rojas. Robert, that is a fun outfield.
Starting point is 00:16:51 A lot of strikeouts, but that is a fun outfield. One of the things I think we both probably close to a line on is the outfield does need a lot of help. And one area where the Dodgers are extremely, I guess we can be grateful, they don't need a lot of bullpen help. They don't need a lot of pitching help. This has been a very, very well put together pitching staff, even through all the injuries. I guess this is a long way around giving some flowers because we talked about it on my channel. couple weeks ago. I gave my love to Alex Vescia. You did a little bit too, but Vesia is one guy stepping up big time. All the bullpen is, but I guess this is an opportunity. Give some love to
Starting point is 00:17:30 Alex Vesie, because I know you had some thoughts over the weekend about the real AV, as J-Hare would call them. Real J-Hare. Shout out to both of them. So I can give flowers to the entire bullpen. And we can flash back to what we spoke about. I said the most questions would come, whether the if the starting rotation faltered and go from there. Because I was like, every single year, the Dodgers just somehow figure it out. You know, Alana, we talked about how they can just, you know, they'll dumpster die for somebody.
Starting point is 00:17:57 They'll find some DFA cast off and trade for them and bring them in. And that's exactly who we're seeing at the back end. Anthony Banda, he's coming in and been fine. For whatever anyone thinks about Yohan Ramirez, since his rough outing on May 24th against Cincinnati, he's had an ERA of one and he's allowing a 167 batting average. So whatever they're doing, and he's got electric stuff. Let's not act like it.
Starting point is 00:18:17 He doesn't. because, you know, the game last night, he shouldn't have been out there. That's another thing we can talk about, the bullpen management at the back end. I don't know why you keep him in for a second inning. You have a rested pen. You have a day off today. Whatever. They took two of three.
Starting point is 00:18:29 We'll skip it. But since May 1, the Dodgers bullpen is, you know, number one in strikeout to walk percentage at 18.2. Number one in Sierra, number four, and combined ERA. So the bullpen's been terrific. But in that same span, you could argue that Alex Vessia has been the third best reliever in baseball. So it's been, he's doing. exactly what he did when he got called back up last year. He's going on a ridiculous run. He's living and dying in the strike zone. He's not walking hitters. And he is now that number one option.
Starting point is 00:18:58 And Anthony Banda is probably the, is like arguably the hardest thrower in that bullpen. And he might be their nice, solid number two, left-handed option. You mentioned Johann Ramirez. And it's funny that you say that because since the moment, call it the moment when Dave Roberts went and gave him that hug. and talked to him for what I feel like was 27 minutes and Gavin Lux was just standing. He's six and a third innings pitch, three hits, zero earned runs, Scott, one walk, five K's, and he has a zero ERA. This was a couple of days ago.
Starting point is 00:19:30 This was on June 7th. But the point is, do you credit Dave Roberts and the moment for the Ramirez turnaround? I think so. I think for in terms of mental, for sure, because we saw how tough that was on Ramirez, but we also saw about how much he, we heard how much he said that meant to him. And I think that matters. This is another credit to Dave about why players love him. And another thing that fans often don't appreciate about Dave Roberts, that he manages a high-price roster every single year. And he allows them to be themselves. But he's very hands-off in terms of he doesn't get too high, doesn't get too low.
Starting point is 00:20:07 He argues when he needs to, doesn't get tossed ever. But in a moment like that, on a player who just got brought over to the team has an incredibly tough start, tensions are high, high-skirts. in game, hits two batters. He went out and did exactly what he need to do. And I don't think it was too much. And we've seen in conjunction with the pitching staff, you know, analytic staff, they've gone out and they've turned him into a quality reliever that they've kind of leaned on in spots. He's gone some innings and he's provided plus innings.
Starting point is 00:20:36 He was a factor in the extra innings game. Like it's been, I love it. I didn't mock that moment and say like chuckle at it saying like this is too much. it really made me think like this is why players appreciate Dave and it really did you know I get I don't understand why people are so upset about that like it's just general Dave Roberts haters on the internet and we know there are plenty of them we see the comments in the live stream I think you can take a shot every time somebody says fire Dave Roberts and you would need to go to the hospital if you're doing
Starting point is 00:21:08 a show a day or something like that but one guy I also wanted to talk about listen Dodgers come out of New York. They take two or three. We're feeling pretty good. But there are some issues. We know there are some issues. We're still, like Alana said, a month and a half away from the trade deadline. You have some internal options. I just went on a whole tangent last week about it's time for Andre Lipsius, who just keeps riding high. I know you had your tweet that popped off on the Twitter machine on X about Lipsius. Why are we not seeing Andre Lipsius in Dodger Blue? Because I think some people aren't understanding why we're not seeing him yet. some roster crunch stuff.
Starting point is 00:21:46 You know, he's just like you see right there. You've got some players in the big league roster. It's kind of tough to move. Kike Hernandez, you have to keep him there. Chris Taylor, contractual-wise, it's a tough thing to play around with. I'm very concerned about why Miguel Vargas isn't getting more playing time. I don't know what they're doing. He's just, he's up there to hang out and not play so much.
Starting point is 00:22:09 So I believe that Lipsius, you know, Kent deserves a call. it's just a matter of where you're going to play him. And the more we don't hear about Max Muncie, and when that timeline gets even further, it's a question that needs to be answered even more. Like, who are you playing at third base here? Because Kike's had his defensive issues at third. I think he's a natural outfielder.
Starting point is 00:22:29 And when he's in the infield, he's more up the middle. And I think that's where he's most comfortable. So Lipsius is a guy that could certainly get some run. And it's not Miguel Vargas because he hasn't played there in over almost a year. He went down to AAA and he's played exclusively left field. This year he started the year in AAA exclusively left field. So that's a guy they're thinking pure corner outfielder. So third base-wise, you're kind of stuck at the moment with Rojas, Kiki Hernandez,
Starting point is 00:22:52 solypseyas. You know, Clint is a guy that I think could get some run, absolutely. Deserves it. I think he's earned it. I think so, too. And it's funny, too, because I was thinking, no, no, not if he's just another infielder. We have too many of those guys that, you know, can play in the infield and can't hit. So if you want to put him in the corner outfield, I'm fine.
Starting point is 00:23:12 with that. I like that. Before we let you go, Scott, I just wanted to ask you one more quick question about the biggest error, not error, the biggest hole you see with this club. I would still say it bleeds into a few. If you can keep me on while I try to break this down, it's, it keeps drawing me right back to what's going on with the middle infield and with Gavin Luxe and Mookie Betts. And if people think that just getting league average from Gavin Lux is worth keeping Mookie Betts at shortstop, because I have to bring up a point that it's kind of raised my eyebrows a bit and it's concerning because I appreciate Mookiee Betts. I love him. I love him as a, he's a good person. He's a good player. But over the weekend, there was the first time I've heard him speak really
Starting point is 00:23:59 about his confidence going up to the plate and having confidence stepping into the box. And I can't think of anything that he's done differently this year besides play in a completely new position and have to learn a new position. His defensive metrics aren't terrific. They aren't good. They are below league average. And it's getting to a point where how much is that helping the Dodgers and how much is Gavin Lux hurting the Dodgers?
Starting point is 00:24:21 So you can flip that however you want. But is Gavin Lux doing enough to say it's okay, we can keep having mooky bets at shortstop? And for whatever negatives that's having on him on both sides, is that worth continuing what's going on here and having Gavin Lux play? Is Gavin Lux playing at a league average level, which is. right now what he did in May barely below is that worth keeping mooky bets at shortstop going forward and that's my biggest thing um and then that bleeds into the conversation of now how do you work in that bench spot how do you work in the rotational pieces and then for focus towards the
Starting point is 00:24:53 outfield but for me it's going to continue to be on mooky bets because he was playing out of his mind in the first month and i think it's fair to think that after the first month of the season you know that wear and tear and that extra work is kind of bleeding into everything else uh because you saw it a clear fall off from, you know, March to April and then to May was a steep drop-off in production from Mookie Betts. Scott Gierman, as always, you're giving us a lot to think about. We appreciate you coming on, as always, my friend. Thank you.
Starting point is 00:25:22 Thank you so much. I appreciate you both and have your terrific day. It's a fun time. Everybody should be happy about what they just saw against the Yankees. Just think about it. Sweep of the Braves. I am. Go from there.
Starting point is 00:25:33 I'm happy. I'm happy. Clint doesn't care. He was hiking or something. I don't know, maybe he was underwater basket. I'm teasing. I'm teasing. All right. Thanks, Scott. We'll talk to you soon. Hello, hello. I'm Malcolm Gladwell, host of Smart Talks with IBM.

Where do you imagine we are in the timeline of this technology? There will come a point when it will mature. Right? My cell phone is a mature technology at this point. How far are we from that point with Quantum?

Starting point is 00:29:04 All right, time now for behind the seams as Dodgers territory continues. So, Clint, this is interesting. The athletic just came out with a poll about a couple of different categories, like worst organization as far as, you know, guys think what the worst organization is. You might be really surprised to learn it was the Oakland Athletics. But there was also a question about who guys in the league want to play with, you know, as far as like good vibes. And the top three, as far as Dodgers players are concerned, Betts Freeman Otani.
Starting point is 00:29:39 Um, are the most that mooki bets is the most wanted teammate in baseball, according to a major league survey on an anonymous player poll. Bet's known for his smile on the field and leadership skills in the clubhouse was the number one pick, but who else received votes? Well, Otani and, uh, Freeman were up there as well. So if you could play with anybody in the major leagues, who would you play with? It's a cheap answer, but it has to be mooky. He does have fun out there.
Starting point is 00:30:07 And I could also be close enough to ask him like, hey, what's going on man? You sure you really want to be playing short stuff for the rest of the season? Is this a good plan? Maybe. Maybe you're tired. Maybe take a couple days off here and there. But Mookie, he does it all. He's good at every single thing.
Starting point is 00:30:22 You want to go bowling. You go bowling with Mookie. You want to go play golf. You golf with Mookie, which, of course, ballplayers have a lot of time to do. Mookie is just a fun guy. The energy is infectious, especially when you see him, you know, off the field. Off the field, very, you know, he's going to be serious. He takes his job very seriously.
Starting point is 00:30:39 but mookie he's a good uh that's a good pick i think these these uh you know mowb stars know what they're talking about well glasnaw got some votes as well uh sillion murphy was off to a good start yesterday um but he doesn't get any run support really uh what about a pitcher who you who would you want to uh to i don't know who would you want to catch if you could play a game of catch with who is it oh have a catch give me edward kershaw i want to have a catch with kershaw right now because it you know the velo won't be as hard and easier to You can actually catch it? Okay. Fair. What about a, what about a former Dodger? Can I bring up Russell Martin two weeks in a row? Martin's my guy. I'm big time, big time Russ guy.
Starting point is 00:31:22 It's your fantasy, man. I don't care. All right. Russell Martin, that's perfect. By the way, 92%. Oh, okay. If I had a former, former Dodger, what? Or an all-time baseball player. Who's your all-time, you know, doesn't necessarily need to be a Dodger. I am aware we're docking territory. Besides my husband. I would say if I could, well, I have an unbelievable amount of respect for Derek Jeter. I love Chase Utley. That's no surprise there. As far as like former players are concerned, that were Dodgers, Chase, David Freeze, I'm obsessed. As far as players on another team, I would run through a brick wall for Bryce Harper. I would love just to hang out with Bryce Harper. Just to shoot the shit.
Starting point is 00:32:04 Have a beer even though I don't drink beer. I just love him. I love what he's done for that city. I love everything about Bryce Harper. Yes, Lecheva Jones, Kirsha, yes, I get it. I love Kirschi. I've known Kersh for a long, long, long time. I think you're too close to Kersh. Yeah, I've known Kers a really long time. No, I mean, I love him. I love him, of course. But yeah, I think, you know, I would have loved to have been in London this weekend with Chase Sutley and and Bryce. That would have been cool, just to, you know, have catch, have a pint, maybe some fish and ships, some bangers and mash. I don't know. Also, part of this athletic. article, all these polls that they did, 92% Clint of the anonymous players that were polled said that spending money on the game is good for baseball. No shit. Of course it is. Yeah. Imagine that. These players that want a lot of money, they saw what the Dodgers are doing.
Starting point is 00:32:53 Most of them think what the Dodgers did this offseason is good for baseball. I liked one of the comments saying maybe, you know, the whole deferred contracts, not as ideal for baseball. those kind of, you know, those deals, they might not be the problems for Andrew Friedman or even this ownership group in 10 years from now. I don't think Guggenheim. I don't think Friedman are going anywhere, but interesting takes from players there.
Starting point is 00:33:17 But yeah, you want teams to spend on their teams. You want these organizations to put the best product on the field. And I think it's a fair argument to say that Dodgers have, you know, for the money, one of the best products on the field. And I think they nailed it by saying, the A's kind of not so much. And it's not even so much just the A's for not spending money. I mean, there's a litany of reasons the A's are a horrible organization.
Starting point is 00:33:43 But think about the fact that there are, what, 11 teams in the National League that are two games out of making the postseason just based on record. I mean, there's nothing that says sexy. Like, you have a mediocre, mediocre team that can get into the postseason by winning 80 games. Like, that to me is just ridiculous. I mean, it's pretty obvious in the National League who's going to the postseason. I mean, it might be a little bit harder in the American League, but really, it's not rocket science. You know what I mean?
Starting point is 00:34:08 Spend some money. Let's have a little bit of more of a competitive nature, a competitive fire. Don't tell me that you're losing money as a baseball owner. No, you're not. I don't care if you're the New York Yankees and Hal Steinbrenner or if you're Jeff Fisher or whatever the hell his name is in Oakland. You're not losing money. You're not.
Starting point is 00:34:28 No. I'm telling you. And by the way, Joe Blow, who has to spend. you know, $30 to get a hot dog at your stadium. That's the guy that can complain about ticket prices and concessions, just a guy that's trying to make ends meet and take his family to a game. An owner makes way more than the players do. So I don't want to hear it.
Starting point is 00:34:48 Spend money, grow the game, be better. I agree. Crushed it. Do better bad baseball teams. Rockies as well. Throw them in there. Sorry, Alana. No apology necessary.
Starting point is 00:35:03 That's fine. Trust me. Yeah, you know, like if you're the Marlins went to the postseason last year and they, they, you know, traded their best player on May 3rd. So that's cool. All right, time now for last licks, Clint. Let me introduce you, my friend, to peppermint Patty. All right, guys, this sweetheart is peppermint Patty. She is between 10 to 12 years old. She was found as a stray yesterday on the streets of Englewood. She's definitely a senior gal. We think that she may be a little bit on the, um, having heart of seeing side, a little bit blind, we're not 100% sure. It took three baths to get her all clean, but she's feeling good. She's feeling single, ready to mingle. She is so easy, just looking for a, just looking for a soft spot to lay her sweet little head. If you're interested in sporting her foster supplies or adopting this sweetheart,
Starting point is 00:36:02 please hit me up at Alana Riza or Guidry's guardian on Instagram and Twitter. All right, let's talk about this, Clint. Glass now, run support, lack thereof as our final topic of Dodgers territory today. So, Glass, I think it was, what, he went like 35 innings or something without receiving any run support from the Dodgers. Of course, you finally get some run support. And Trent friggin Grisham hits a three-run bomb. Oswaldo Cabrera hits a homer on him off of him in New York. So it is a little frustrating.
Starting point is 00:36:37 But, yeah, man, this dude, Glass has really been a tough luck pitcher in baseball this year. I mean, he opened the season. When the Dodgers were on fire, he was leading baseball with the six wins, but very much come down to earth of late. And I guess that's what happens when you're the ace. You're facing these other, you know, aces of the other teams. You're going to face the best. And the Dodgers are, you know, their lineup is going through it at different points in time. decided to wake up a little bit, but it's tough.
Starting point is 00:37:08 I want to see Glass now getting 12 wins in there, maybe getting some Cy Young love, but it's not in the cards yet. Yeah, the win-loss record isn't there, six and five, but that's not on him completely, obviously. Win loss really, really is completely on the pitcher. But I do think that he has been so good for this Dodgers team. I think that he has been solid in every single start that he's had.
Starting point is 00:37:32 I mean, he gives you a chance to win. He goes as deep into games as to let him go, just coming off of, you know, his most innings he's ever thrown last year. Again, and they've done enough. They've done enough. By the way, how did we not talk about Gavin Stone? I was just about to say, we need to bring up Stoner for a lot. Holy, moly.
Starting point is 00:37:49 We definitely got to talk more about him on Thursday when we have our next live episode. Gavin Stone has stones, bro. What he was able to do at Yankee Stadium, I was like, oh, hello, sorry. Sorry I ever doubted you. He looks great. It was easy to be a Gavin Stone doubter entering, entering the season. did not have a good debut season last year, but like we talked to Mark Prior, like we talked to Oral Hershey's about. This is a kid that put in the work, kind of revamp the body, revamp the stuff,
Starting point is 00:38:18 the pitch mix a little bit. And this is a dude who very much straight up held his own alongside the names of Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Tyler Glass now. And to throw that in, did not have his best stuff by any stretch of the imagination, gives up 10 base runners against that vaunted Yankees but limits the damage, just two runs, gave the team everything he had in the tank as they were coming off of, you know, unintentional back-to-back bullpen games coming out of Pittsburgh, help that bullpen reset heading into, you know, this off day and whatever. Dodgers are going to really look at that series and look at Yamamoto start, look at Stone start as kind of blessings that this team needed to get everybody back on track. But Stone, man, that kid is fun to watch. No, that was good, though. I like what you said. He limited the damage. That's where I mean. That's where the stones come in because you get traffic on the basis, but you figure it out and you minimize that damage. All right, we're going to be back. We have so much more to talk about on Thursday. Another live edition of Dodgers territory. For Clint Pisces, I'm Alana Rizzo and our entire Dodger territory crew.
