Welcome to the Boys and Girls podcast.
Arranged Marriage is basically a reality show

And who's judging?
Only your entire family?
I sacrificed myself to this ancient tradition,
hoping to find love the right way.
And instead, I found chaos, comedy and a lot of cringe.

Beau Bichette immediately fixes second base for the Dodgers,
and then you kick Tommy Edmund out to the outfield,
whether it's left field or in center field.
Welcome to a brand new live, fresh edition of Dodgers territory.

We are the Grinch.
We want to get from 14K to 15K.
Help us get there, you guys.
We love it.
We love it.
We love it.
Julio Candelas is the first one in our chat.
Ola, Ola, Ola, Julio.
Welcome, welcome, welcome.
Lots to talk about.
We are in the off season.
It is quiet.
It is the rumor mill, Clint, but let's get to rumor hasn't.
All right.
So per our friend, our
esteemed colleague, future Hall of Famer, Ken Rosenthal, in his most recent column on the athletic,
the Dodgers apparently are linked to Cardinals outfielder Lars Neupar. I mean, they're one of the
teams interested in a perhaps union with Lars Neutbar. Okay. So Clint, how does he fit?
Yeah, again, the direct quote there in Ken's column, Dodgers are among the teams interested in
Newt Bar, left-handed hitting outfielder. The Dodgers need a left-fielder right now.
I'm not, I'm not like super excited, super stoked, super thrilled about the idea of Newtbar.
I think they can do a little bit better. But he has been good. He has been pretty decent
over the course of his career. Not a great year last year for Lars Neutbar, but generally has
been above league average by weighted runs created plus by OPS Plus. Could work in a platoon.
if this is the way the Dodgers end up going,
could work on a platoon in left field with Alex Call.
Both of them kind of have reasonable splits where, you know,
Newtbar takes the lion's share of starts against right-handed pitching.
Alex Call takes those lion's share against left-handed pitching.
Newbar, 67 OPS career against right-handed pitching.
Alex Call, 748 OPS against left-handed pitching.
But again, Riz, this doesn't,
with all due respect to Lars Newbar
doesn't excite me for a team
trying to go for the
second repeat in a row, whatever you want to say,
three in a row here.
Yeah, again,
I just don't think that there's an outfielder
that's going to really be like,
for me.
You know what I mean?
I think that there are certain folks
that are going to make me do that thing,
but I just don't think that an outfielder is one of them.
Lars Neupar makes me feel a little bit more confident
in a platoon situation.
with Alex Paul.
Lars Neupar on our opening day starting lineup
makes me a little bit more positive or confident
than let's say a Ryan Ward at this point
in Ryan Ward's career.
It doesn't need to excite you though.
You know what I mean?
Like it doesn't have to be somebody that is like, oh my God.
I know, I know.
But it's like it's like, oh my God, we landed such and such outfielder,
right?
It's like more of like this is a serviceable piece,
which I like.
I would rather see Lars Neupar right now in his stage of his career than Ryan Ward in our starting lineup.
Do we need either?
Not really.
Again, what I said is we needed a closer.
We got it in Edwin Diaz.
I also said like, okay, I would take a really good bona fide defensive center fielder.
But perhaps this is what we need.
And the reason why is because you, Clint Pesias, put together a wonderful graphic of what we could see on our opening day roster.
look at the defensive lineup for the Dodgers if in fact Lars Neubbar became a piece of this puzzle.
Are we not showing that right now?
I don't have the Newtbar one because I think instead.
All right.
Let's wrap up Lars Neup Bar talk a little bit in saying,
good baseball player, I think they can do better.
I think they can do better offensively.
Defensively, obviously that's a question that the front office should have.
But thinking back to the offensive last year, they struggled.
Is your better Boba Chet?
Better as Bobesh.
That's what the people are here for.
Guys, sound off in the comments.
If you like Boba Chet, that's what I want to know,
because I think the Dodgers need to be bolder than a Lars Neupor.
Lars Neup, again, very good baseball player.
They need to be bolder.
They need to just inject more offense into that lineup.
And Boba Shet is 100% more of a needle mover.
And he is somebody who is now apparently willing
to play second base.
He's willing to be signed in free agency
as a second basement,
kind of taken that Marcus Simeon play
that he made with Toronto a couple years ago
and then parlayed that into a pretty nice payday
with the Texas Rangers.
Yeah, is this the move?
Is this the move for the Dodgers?
Because we have not talked about Bo much at all this offseason.
Somebody you know in your time of covering
the Blue Jays here and there
over the last couple of years.
Great bat to ball guy.
He's got some pop.
Proven run producer. I love them.
I don't know. I do too. I just didn't think he was a possibility for the daughters.
Like he never even entered my radar as far as Boba Shett. But it is obvious.
Obviously, he's a great shortstop. But it is obvious that he is willing to change positions, right?
So let's say he is willing to play second base. And ultimately, I do think, though, that if you're, if you're going to sign Bo Bichette, you have to be thinking long term, correct?
Because Boba Chet is looking for seemingly a seven to eight year deal upwards of 200, 200 plus
million dollars okay so if that's the case maybe you sign him with the dodgers as a second
basement keep moochie it short you put bo-bushet at second who he's willing he is willing to make
the move you have max muncie at third until max munsey is no longer a everyday third basement
if bo-bushet is willing later on in his career to move to third you take the bat you take the
defense you take the age you take all the things like bo-besut to me if he's not going to stay in
Toronto, which I would not be surprised if they figured out a deal.
I would love Boba Chet.
I would love Boba Chet for the next six, seven, eight years as the Dodger.
Sure.
Yeah, and the age, again, you mentioned the age.
Age is super on his side.
He's 27 right now.
He'll be 28 by the time opening day rolls around next year.
The bat is there.
Again, I mentioned bat to ball.
This is a dude who's led the league a couple of times in hits in the American League.
He has a little bit of pop.
He's a postseason performer, but something we need to really take into consideration.
We've talked a lot about the Dodgers needing an outfielder.
Of course, we endured and survived Michael Conforto in left field last year where, yeah, that was a rough experience.
But the Dodgers at second base were not good offensively last year either during the regular season.
A slash line 239 with a 293 on base percentage and in only 357 slug.
Bo Bouchet immediately fixes second base.
for the Dodgers and then you kick Tommy Edmund out to the outfield, whether it's left
field or in center field. And now, Alana, we could throw to that graphic. This is what the Dodgers
kind of, I think the alignment could look like. I love this. I love this. You keep Teasca,
which means you keep the bat, right? So you move Teascair to left field. Obviously, we know that
defense is not the best part of his game. I think that's fair to say. Teasker and left,
I love you. Move Tommy Edmund to center, which we know that he is a very,
very versatile player can absolutely handle
Sutterfield. You move Andy Pahas, who has an
absolute cannon of an arm. You move him to right field. Mookie, of course,
stays it short. Bo Bichette is second. Max is at third for the time being.
You know, Freddie, you know, show how you know. I love,
love this depth chart. If they sign Boba Chet,
then you have Daltzing as the backup to Will Smith.
Alex Call can platoon, obviously.
I love this lineup. Let's do it. And you know,
McGee Roe. Where is it? You know, Miggie Roe is there.
Hesse on Kim at the start.
of the season at the bare minimum should be the utility guy that they kind of signed him for
initially. Another one of the reasons why I like the idea of Bo Bichette, and I'll bring the chat in
here as well for everybody hanging out with us. Apparently, we got a Padres troll hanging out
with us, so we appreciate you. Hit that thumbs up on.
What's that, Neil Cat?
Carlos Garcia in the chat also saying, no Kike. We'll talk about Kike in a second because
he is a free agent. Technically, not a part of that. I'm not going to put two.
names who aren't on the Dodgers on that depth chart.
But the reason I really like the idea of Boba Shed as well is we know the Dodgers
have a bunch of outfielders at the minor league level, like a bunch of prospect help potentially
coming in the outfield.
They are thin in the infield and you also are aging, you know, a lot in the infield with
Max, with with Mookie, with Freddie and all of that.
So you do inject some youth with Boba Chet.
you inject some, some consistency and length if he is going to be around for, like you said,
six, seven, eight year deal.
Some of the numbers, by the way, people are saying he could surpass that Willie Adamas contract
for looking at projected contracts.
That was, what, seven year, $182 million a year ago.
What was that, 26 million, I think, Aav.
ESPN has him at a near polar bear deal with the five and 150.
I mean, could be a 25, could be a 30 million.
million a year player, but the bat is that good and he will be less of a defensive liability
at second base, like as he has been in his career as a shortstop. There's a lot of things
to love about Boba Chet, but I think in terms of adding a bat, adding, like injecting real
honest to God, true offense to the lineup, Boba Chet is the better, the better answer between
him. Listen. This, the Kyle Tucker's Cody Bellinger, go. I'm not paying
Kyle Tucker 300 million to be in our outfield.
I'm not doing it.
I'm not.
I'm not.
No, it's like I'm just not doing that.
That doesn't make any sense.
I would absolutely love Boba Chet
because if you, he's a solid defensive shortstop, right?
And you know if you can play a very good major league baseball caliber
shortstop position, I hate to say it, second base, easier than short.
So if he moves over to second, he's only going to be that much better defensively at
second than he wasn't short.
You have Moogie at short.
You have Dante.
I covered his dad.
My apologies.
You have Bo Bichette.
I know I'm a thousand years old, but I did cover his father as well.
So there you have it.
You have Bo at second.
You have Mookiee at short.
You have Max Muncie at third.
You have Freddie at first.
I love this.
I love this.
And if Mookie needs a spell, if Mookie needs a blow.
You can move.
You can move Edmund over there.
You can move Bo back to short for a hot second.
I love this.
Now, again, would I rather pay Bo Bichette eight years?
200 million than Kyle Tucker five years, 300 or whatever the heck it's going to be. Absolutely. Absolutely. Yeah. It's, I don't know. Again, there's just a lot of things that make a lot of sense for the deal. I think, you know, Bo ages better playing second base. He looked good there. Even, you know, playing injured during the World Series. I mean, I think of that Homer, too. Like, obviously, it's a big game, dude. Gates a game seven Homer.
three-run bomba off of Shohay Otani.
When that happened, you know,
our hearts are dropping thinking,
crap, the Dodgers are about to lose this World Series.
Luckily, you know, the boys,
Max,
McGee.
Who said the Dodgers weren't losing the World Series?
Who said that?
That lady right there.
Yeah, that lady over there.
Give her her flowers, guys.
She wants them.
Boom.
All right.
Boom must die.
It's not boom.
It's boo must die in the chat.
says, I'm not talking smack.
Dodgers 1.
Bo is God-awful defensively, and the terrible base runner.
Bo is Polanco, and you want to play him at second base.
Please do.
My man, Boomer must die must be a Toronto fan.
I don't know.
Alana with an H, the same.
Boa must die at 3406.
Alana, stop.
Bo is terrible.
Terrible.
He's terrible.
All right, Charles Barkley.
Charles Barkley.
I don't think he's terrible.
I think Bo's a really good defensive infielder.
And you know what? He doesn't have to be the dude in L.A.
And obviously they gave Vladimir Guerrero Jr. the bag, which they should.
He's a franchise player.
I think Bo would like to be that franchise player in Toronto.
But it may not work out that way.
But I think he can only, I think if the Dodgers get Bo Bichet,
I think the upside is larger than if they sign another massive reagent, like a Kyle Tucker.
Or I do not want Framber Valdez for a variety of reasons.
If you look at ESPN.com just did an article.
I want to say it's a show infeld field that just did this article about the top free agent targets that are still out there, right?
Obviously, Kyle Tucker is number one.
In their estimation, he's number one.
Number two is Framber Valdez.
Number three is Cody Bellinger, which actually surprised me.
Number four is Alex Fregman.
So it's like they don't even have Bo Bichette as top five or top four rather in terms of free agent targets.
I don't know.
I disagree.
I think you would be, if you're looking for the future and you're looking for his age
and what he can bring you defensively and the versatility and his willingness to move around,
I like it.
I like it.
I think you'd be a great second baseman.
I'm getting absolutely destroyed.
Well, as I say, I will help with one thing.
He is a bad defensive shortstop.
And that is why he's kind of resigned.
And that was part of Mark Feinstein's article.
It's like they're kind of reading and reacting to the room.
And the room does not want him playing shortstop for their team.
So then you play second.
You play second, which is easier defensively than shorts.
Okay, fine.
So he's not a great defensive shortstop.
But you know what?
You move him over to second.
You put him at second.
He's willing to play third and a dude rakes.
So fine.
There's absolutely a lot of upside potential at second base.
Also working, no disrespect to the Toronto Blue Jays and their coaching staff.
I know a lot about the Dodgers coaching staff,
and I know how they maximize the most out of their outfielders,
most out of their infielders.
Think of Justin Turner how much credit he's given guys like Chris Woodward
for helping him become the defensive third baseman.
He became, you know, in his prime, Max Muncie loves these dudes.
Mookie loves Dino Ebel, who is, well, I guess he's the outfield coach now.
But, you know, all of these guys, like I trust the Dodgers coaching staff to maximize
Bo Bichette.
And also, hey, let's just throw out, last thing we'll talk about Bo, throw out a down the road of if he can potentially move over to third base.
I think it's the perfect, the perfect free agent addition.
Go ahead.
Isn't that the way that you kind of have to look at things, right?
Like, I think you and I and fans in general are like, what do we do right now?
But I think also as a front office, you have to say, okay, what do we do right now to three Pete?
but what is this going to parlay to in the future?
In three or four years or whatever,
whenever they decide to make the change for Max Muncie,
whether that's next year, two years from now,
three years from now, four years from now,
when Max can't do third every single day,
Bo can slide into that spot.
And again, maybe not the greatest defensive shortstop,
but he could be a very good defensive second basement.
He can play third.
I will take the bat.
I don't know.
Here's some questions.
So Rossman Carrino 7137,
does Bo even have the arm strength for third base?
I don't know, man.
He hasn't played there a ton.
Bo looks good at second and he could barely walk.
Okay, Maddie, man.
You guys are so.
No, no, he was injured.
He came back.
He hadn't played that entire postseason,
had, I think, the quad injury.
And, you know, if they had the ability to play him as the DH,
he would have been deaching in that World Series,
but they couldn't because George Springer was also injured.
And I think he looked, I agree with, with Maddie Man.
I think he looked good enough at second base while playing on a bum leg.
hell yeah you know all right let me ask you this so beer a samalama okay just all i need i don't
need you i love you guys but i don't need you to pontificate yes or no is the only thing i'm
asking you get in the chat right now clint and i are going to really dive deep into the chat

I'm Daniel Alarcon, a writer and journalist,

My first World Cup was Mexico 86.
I was nine years old.
I watched every game and I fell in love.
On our new podcast, The Away End,
we'll share with you the magic of international football,
all leading up to the 2026 World Cup.
For us, soccer, football,
is a story we've shared for over 30 years
since Daniel was the star player
on our high school soccer team.
Very debatable.
And I was their most loyal and sometimes only fan.
I love this game.
I love its history, its hope, its heartbreak, and above all, its beauty.
Together, we'll find out why, of all the unimportant things, football, soccer, is the most important.
Listen to the away end with Daniel Auer Kohn and John Green on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
I went and sat on the little ottoman in front of him.
I said, hi, Dad.
And just when I said that, my mom comes out of the kitchen.
And she says, I have some cookies and milk.
This is a badass convict.
Right.
Just finished five years.
I'm going to have cookies and milk at mom.
Yeah.

Open your free I-Heart radio app.
Search the Cito Show.
And listen now.
I love that.
I love that.
I love that.
I know.
It's so good.
Did you make that?
No, no.
I believe that is a credit to either Jeremy Meyer
or potentially Derek Lewandowski.
I'm pretty sure was Jeremy, though.
So either way,
got a good group in the Fowel Territory Network.
A lot of talented people.
We do.
So before we go into the yes or no questions
and we tally this all up about Boba Shett,
which is fine.
I love it.
And I love that you guys are participating.
Just let's keep it clean and happy and respect.
Not just respectful.
I don't care.
You can disagree with me,
but just be respectful.
I'm totally fine with that.
Listen, listen, many of folk have disagreed with me,
and that's totally fine.
Let's talk about Marcus Lynn Betts for our.
a hot second. It is out there
to say that he is, yeah,
yeah, yeah, hang with the chat.
He is not playing in the WBC, but he has
a good reason. To me, it's a little bit surprising,
but a good reason. Mookie Betz said
on Aiden Ross's stream that he won't
play for Team USA in the 2020-6
WBC because his wife,
Brianna, is expected to give birth
to their third child around the same time.
I did not know that Brianna and Mookie were expecting
their third child until today. I remember when she got
pregnant with their son, she was like, this is it.
I guess not.
We're done.
No.
No.
So apparently he's going to miss it for good reason because Brianna said she would divorce his ass if he wasn't there with her, as she said.
It's great line.
The woman's giving him a third child.
All right.
So he's not on the WBC, but I have to say the WBC Team USA, Clint Pesias is stacked.
It's starting to get there.
No, it's get it.
It's there.
Like Eric Scobal is in.
Mason Miller is in.
Obviously, Paul Steezez is in.
Aaron Judge is in.
Bobby Witt Jr.
And there's a lot of really,
really good players.
Will Smith is back.
It's for the WBC.
I love it.
I love the interest.
I love that one-two punch of scubel and skeins.
Dodger fans looking at their future.
But that is going to be a fun one-two punch.
I mean, it sucks that it's WBC.
Obviously, these pitchers are going to be somewhat limited and they should be.
You know,
they're not going to be going out there throwing complete games or any of that kind of stuff.
But I don't know, all of a sudden, I feel pretty confident in Team USA's chances against whatever
Team Japan throws out because it's going to be those two, as it usually ends up being.
Yeah, so I got that for you.
That's it.
I don't know.
I think it's cool.
I think I love the fact that the American players are starting.
And kudos to Mark DeRosa, by the way, for like getting these guys interested in height, obviously,
the second year manager for WBC, obviously, does a tremendous job.
I learn more from Mark DeRosa, Oral Hersheiser, and Pedro Martinez,
than I do any other analysts that are out there.
Like, if you watch Mark DeRosa on MLB Central and MLB Network Monday through Friday,
he is a baseball savant.
I learned so much from him.
And obviously, as the manager from the World Baseball Classic, his second time around,
he's getting guys to buy in.
And I think it's super, super, super duper cool.
All right.
So there you have it.
Let's talk about the chat.
Are we?
Yeah, let's do that for a minute.
and then, I mean, I didn't tally, but, but people in the chat had, had their thoughts.
Let me kind of scroll up here.
There was a lot of yeses.
A lot of people being a fan.
Ethan says no in the chat there.
But there overall are a lot of yeses in the chat.
Stanley's a no.
A lot of yeses for Boba Chet being the signing for the Dodgers again.
I think there's a lot of, a lot of positivity, not a positivity.
I think there's a lot of positive reasons to, there's the positive outweighs the
negative is what I'm trying to say when it comes to Bobauchette and, you know, signing with
the Dodgers.
And the whole idea of it, you know, being maybe $30 million a year, whatever it is, if it's
a Willie Adomas contract.
It's not our money, ladies and gentlemen.
We're not specifically spending it.
And maybe, just maybe you sign him.
It doesn't necessarily preclude you from also still adding an outfielder and getting even
better from there.
it's hard to envision them landing you know signing both bachette and uh let's say a cody bellinger
but maybe it's maybe it's bachette and also you're not going to sign cody for what cody is looking for
just to be a center fielder i love the defensive align because obviously cody is not going to play first
because of freddie and freddie never takes a day off so that's not happening so i see there at the bottom of the chat
i love tay oscar i know i just love tay oscar moving
to left because you take the pressure off of him defensively.
You move Tommy Edmund to center.
He's very capable of playing a decent center field.
You know, and then you have right field.
It's all taken care of now.
It's fine.
Like, I don't know.
I am, I like this.
Do it, Andrew.
I'm calling him right now.
Dave is saying, Bo and Harrison Bader for second base and then center field for Harrison
Bader.
Again, that's the type of move too.
Harrison Bader, that is a net gain for the Dodgers as well.
Um, they, I, I do, I will reaffirm the fact that they need a little bit more help offensively than I think I've even allowed myself to process because like, you think, oh, this team won the world series, but they were, they were pretty mid offensively last year.
The only reason I agree with you in terms of needing more offense is because they're just another year older, right? Like they're, I mean, our team is aging, right? Like, aren't we all?
But our team is kind of didn't hit in the world series.
I don't know.
Well, sure, sure, sure.
But Yoshinovo Yamamoto.
Thank you.
Well, if he can hit, that'd be nice.
No, no, no.
But you don't mean.
Like the pitching, the pitching was good.
Our starting pitching was really good.
I got some more from the chat.
Beersama earlier in the chat says,
I'm more preferable to a Cody signing or even Harrison Bader.
For up to me, I'd trade for Duran and we're set.
Yeah, I mean, Jaron Duran is also a very good addition.
Trade for Duran signed Bo Boshet.
Hell yeah, why not?
Philip saying I like Bo, but can tell you.
Tommy tanks cover center field because I like that.
Teo the outch in left field.
Tommy, yeah, he did have ankle surgery a couple weeks ago.
He's expecting to be, I don't think he's going to miss too much time.
There is the chance he can miss maybe a couple of days or a week or two into the start
of the regular season.
But he's expecting to be kind of close-ish to full go at the start of spring training.
So it depends on what his conditioning is at that point before he could, you know, they make
that determination of he's going to be, you know, an opening day roster guy. It does not matter.
I don't think opening day roster means shit. It's, it's all performative. It's all like people,
you know, it's fun to make the opening day roster. For sure. I mean, it is, it is a milestone in
your career, but it's also like the whole thing, like your opening day starter one time. You know what I mean?
Like it's just, you happen to be the number one dude, but it's like you're all cycling through.
You know, it's, I don't know, I don't put that much stock into. I do it based on like,
Yeah, Kirsch was like our opening day starter 10, 11 times, whatever,
and then Walker got it and whatever.
That's fine.
But it honestly, it doesn't matter.
It's like whatever it falls on based on what your spring training schedule was.
Yeah.
I agree.
I agree.
And health and all that kind of stuff.
I love this from David Lee.
It's an important factor in the positive column from Lars Neupar because it helps Dodgers
break into the Japanese market if they trade for Lars Neupar.
Oh, brother.
Yeah, because first of all, David,
They need help.
I love your humor because, yeah, the Dodgers are really having trouble signing
signing Japanese players.
But Lars Neubar, whose mom is Japanese, that will really break it wide open for all the
Japanese players to realize how great L.A. is and that should be a destination.
You're funny.
You are funny.
That's to be the one.
That tilts us over.
Got a couple of super chats.
One from Richie in the earlier 499.
You'll be surprised it has with going to his house.
So we will honor Man and Machado at Dodger Stadium before Bo is a Dodge.
And since I failed to get Alana at the DeVore Man Cave, how about Katie Wu?
How about no?
Here's a couple of things.
Here's a couple of things.
Richie, I love you.
Number one.
Number two, learn how to spell my name.
Number three, we will definitely have Boba Shet before we ever honor Mani Machado at Dodger Stadium.
Number four, give Katie Wu a hot second to get acclimated.
And number five, there was somebody in here that said to Richie, he was, he, he, Dittee, Ditchie, you like,
like trying to get a bunch of women at your house is a little creepy.
Something to that effect is what this, where is, where is this?
I don't know.
I will search for creepy and see if it pops up.
Oh, there it is.
It was Philip.
Philip, lowering poor, unsuspecting female analyst to your cave is getting kind of creepy with a winky face.
I mean, he, listen, he's not wrong.
There is another $10 super chat.
Let's bring up our friend, the Truthseeker, Doc RV.
It says, Alana, I disagree that Bo is good defensively anywhere.
Okay, you guys, I'm sorry. Jesus, mercy and Joseph.
All right, here is a very good, he is a very good bat.
I can see the Jay's crying, we don't need you.
Then he hits a three-round home run to beat Jay's again, yes to signing him.
All right, so basically that whole thing was yes to signing both.
Okay, I get it.
He's not the greatest defensive player in the world, but I think he'll be a very good defensive second baseman.
Okay, easier than short defensively.
And you can hit a little bit.
Rosman.
Rosman with the chat of the show so far.
The chat can be weird at times.
Absolutely.
And we love you all for it.
Rosman asking also, I'm left-handed.
I am left-handed.
I don't know where that came up from, but I am.
But I do most things right-handed.
And Beirrissama saying, bro, we'll honor Michael Biforto
before we honor Manny Machado.
There was another one I had.
And then one more, there's two more things.
And then we will talk.
about a doggo in a second, but Kenneth asked a little bit ago, why don't we leave Tommy at
second base, move Teo back to left field because he's horrible and right, move Paez to right
field and go get a center fielder. I mean, that is one of the options. That's something I think,
yeah, you have been on that big time. I don't, I don't disagree with Kenneth at all. Like, I don't
disagree with him. My only point to this was saying, if you happen to sign Bo Boshet, then you don't
need to do that. But yes, I'm with you. I would love to see Teo and left. I'd love to see Tommy
at second. I would love to see Pahasen right and then you get a center fielder, whether that's
belly or somebody else. I don't know, Stephen Kwan, I don't know. I don't know if Steve,
I don't know what the transition for Stephen Kwan from left to center would be. I don't know.
He's never, I've not seen a lot of him playing centerfield. My guess is it's not that great.
I haven't the slightest. But no, I'm with you. I would be fine with that too, but what,
what, what is the center fielder that it's going to be? Who's it, who is it going to be?
Yeah. There aren't a lot of options. I mean,
free agent-wise, it's kind of only Cody Bellinger, and he's taking a few steps back
at the position.
Jaron has played mostly center or left field for the Red Sox in his career.
He's definitely got some center field in there.
But yeah, the center field options aren't the best.
I just don't think Cody Bellinger was going to take a short-term deal with Scott as his agent.
Like I still, I still think Cody's looking for like the bigger contract, the three, four,
five-year deal that he really hasn't gotten yet.
It's funny though, because Cody was number three on ESPN.com's free agent target list.
And Boba Sheet wasn't even in the top four, which I said.
But anyway, that's neither green order.
Well, I got this then for we'll call this engagement baiting guys.
Hit that thumbs up button here on the video.
If you want Boba Shett to be a Dodger, hit that thumbs up button.
If you want Cody Bellinger to be a Dodger, hit that thumbs up.
If you want anybody to be a Dodger.
Boob Nightingale.
If you want Boob Nightingale to be in the chat, hit that thumbs up.
up. It says, did somebody say weird? Count me in. How we always love boobin here. And coal by coal, how much to get Richie to stop begging people to Venice.
Has anybody checked on Diane Schroeder? Is she good? Is she in the cave? Is she safe?
She lives. She has been there multiple times and has been able to escape. So good on that. He has not abducted anybody.
In reality, Richie's a good dude. He's a sweetheart. I want everybody to know that.
We mess with him.
We bully him because he's a friend.
I am not saying that Richie is not a bad.
Richie is a wonderful human.
We kid because we care.
But anyway, somebody please check on Diane.
Someone check on my hand.
All right.
You guys, thank you.
Wait, I have one more thing for you before we move on to last Licks.
It's turned into a long show.
I wasn't expecting yet.
But we probably would have made sense a little bit earlier.
But is the Dodgers re-signing or the Dodgers reunion with Keyes?
I mean Kike Hernandez the worst kept secret in baseball.
I ask that.
And then I play this clip from Kike with David Vasay on the AM 570 from the weekend.
We need Kike Hernandez back for a 3P, don't we?
It feels like it's not a matter of if, but just when.
Does it feel that way to you?
I mean, yeah, but of course, I just had surgery and I'm not going to be ready for opening days.
so there's no rush.
You know, if it ends up working our way
and we come back to L.A.,
all that matters is that I'm ready for the second half
and ready to do my thing in October.
Does that sound like a man that doesn't already know
there's a deal in place to come back?
This sounds like a man that was in the exact same situation last year,
but just knows that he's coming back later
because he had surgery and he's not going to be ready
until the second half of the season, kind of like Evan Phillips.
This is the greatest thing ever.
Kike is going to be back when it matters the most.
Kiki is such an instrument.
part of all of the Dodgers postseason runs since he became a Dodger when he came over.
I love it. He can enjoy the birth of his son that's going to happen soon with Mariana, his wife.
He can get healthy and we'll see you in the second half when it matters the most.
And no, it's a terribly kept secret. But it's a secret that I love it's a it's a non-secret that
I love so much because there's no place in the world that Kiki would come back for free.
Okay. I would pay Kiki's salary if I had my.
money.
Hey, be careful.
Andrew might be listening.
That's where he's supposed to be.
Yeah, this is exactly where he's supposed to be.
It's one of those like, like, just really bad, big winks.
That's what it feels like to me.
But I just want to throw that out there, guys.
Don't worry.
Kike will be back and then we will be able to put him on the depth chart eventually.
And that will probably boot Hess on him.
You know what you should do.
What do you got?
You should put him on the mound.
Put him on the mound.
No, never again.
Never again, please.
Hey, let's get to last licks.
I'm John Green.
You may know me as the author of The Fault in Our Stars,
and now I guess also as the co-host of The Away End,
a brand new world soccer podcast.
I'm Daniel Alarcon, a writer and journalist,
and John and I have known each other since we were kids.
My first World Cup was Mexico 86.
I was nine years old.
I watched every game, and I fell in love.
On our new podcast, The Away End,
we'll share with you the magic of international football,
all leading up to the 2026 World Cup.
For us, soccer, football, is a story we've shared for over 30 years since Daniel was the star player on our high school soccer team.
Very debatable.
And I was their most loyal and sometimes only fan.
I love this game.
I love its history, it's hope, it's heartbreak, and above all, it's beauty.
Together, we'll find out why, of all the unimportant things, football, soccer, is the most important.

Hi, Dad.
And just when I said that, my mom comes out of the kitchen.
She says, I have some cookies and milk.
This is a badass convict.
Right.
Just finished five years.
I'm going to have cookies and milk at my mom.
Yeah.

Guys, let's do this. Let's get this pupa home. This is Havana. She is so, so sweet. She is healthy. She is vaccinated. She is leased train. She is potty trained. She's great with other dogs. She needs a dog that matches her energy, though. She should not be with a dog that's a senior dog or doesn't want anything to do with anybody else. She should be with an extrovert, not an introvert because she herself is an extrovert. She actually came into the Gidreys Garden family, emaciated, starved. Ironically, she followed my best friend's husband into their home.
And she was just begging for help.
And she got it.
She's healthy.
She's happy.
She's sweet.
She's lovable.
She needs an adopter.
She's being fostered in La Havra, California.
Let's give Havana home for the holidays.
Please, reach out.
If you're interested, she's so, so, so sweet.
She's a great, great girl.
She's great with other dogs.
She's great with kids.
She's just really great.
So please, share her.
She seems like a very adorable pupper.
And if we didn't already have two dogs and three cats in the house,
Maybe I would be looking for another doggo.
But we are full.
We are overloaded because help out Gidri's Guardian for the holiday season.
Final thing we got for the day is Dodgers made more money, you know, after the World Series here by winning the World Series.
I don't know if you saw this, Alana, but the postseason shares were announced.
And the Dodgers getting themselves nearly half a million dollars.
82 players were awarded full shares of that.
$484,000.
Pretty good,
life-changing money there for some.
Yeah, it is life-changing.
It's life-changing for a lot of folks.
This does not just go to the players.
It goes to a lot of support staff too.
And the Dodgers have to vote on who gets what.
There are portions of shares.
Every player, every full-time player, obviously, gets a full share,
which is almost a half a million dollars.
As you guys can see it there.
But this is life-changing money for, like, the bullpen catchers.
some support staff in the medical department.
And again, this is what happens when you are a really good team.
You know, you can distribute the wealth amongst your staff and amongst your support team and good for them.
And this is why I always said broadcasters should get shares.
And not one time did they say yes, Alana, we agree with you.
What about podcasters?
If I didn't get a freaking share, there's no way we are now getting a freaking share.
No, no, no, no.
But 500 grand, basically.
$4802.
It's already spent in my head, even though I didn't get it.
Yeah, if somebody gave you $500,000 right now, but you had to spend it by tomorrow, what do you buy in?
Oh, damn.
I had to spend it by tomorrow.
Yeah, why not?
I would buy my sister a house in North Dakota because I can afford a house in North Dakota because I can afford a house in North Dakota for that amount of money.
And then I would fly to Champaign, France, and.
drink really good champagne on emirid's first class of course let's see i'd probably uh i'd probably
definitely get can you ever like pay off debt i would wonder about that i don't i don't i don't have
any i don't have i don't have 500 thousand dollars in debt i'll say that much i would either ask
for a swimming pool filled with 500 000 in cash on mark bills or um on mark or get myself a super
mega yacht and just kind of
go from there. You need a mega yacht
and you need Starlink and then I'll be doing
DT live from my boat every day
on the ocean. Shout out

That's actually funny that you would get a yacht
before you got like a massive
like RV because you're such a camping
dude. I'm surprised you would do a yacht.
RV camping isn't
it's not the same. I guess I would need a
you know what I need. I need a
