Welcome to the Boys and Girls podcast.
Arranged Marriage is basically a reality show
and you're auditioning for your soulmate.
And who's judging?
Only your entire family?
I sacrificed myself to this ancient tradition,
hoping to find love the right way.
And instead, I found chaos, comedy and a lot of cringe.

On my pregame show, I said Dodgers in six.
I'm going Dodgers in three now.
They're going to do the impossible.
Hello, everybody, and welcome to a brand new live edition of Dodgers territory, the post-game edition, if you will, after game one of the NLCS.
We are your host.
I am Alana Rizzo.
That is Clint Paceas.
at the helm directing doing all of the things tonight i tell you what clint we have so much to talk
about so many good things to talk about so don't forget rate as five stars subscribe smash that
like button do all the things not only on youtube but wherever you get your podcast again a ton of
stuff to talk about but let's talk about the work that jack flarity did tonight absolutely shoved
my friend seven scoreless he's a he's a he's a special cat when he's on
this is the reason you go out and acquire Jack Flaherty.
It's to win these kind of games.
It's to get you these kind of games.
And all of a sudden, starting pitching for the Los Angeles Dodgers looking good.
It's a strange phenomenon we have going on here.
I think we got a Flaherty line there, seven, that's right, a Dodger pitcher going seven innings.
Only two hits, six Ks, no runs.
And this coming off of Yamamoto's start, do we suddenly feel pretty dang good about Dodger?
pitching here. Well, I feel definitely, I feel better for sure. And again, I wanted to,
and I said it on our postgame show after game five, I wanted to apologize to Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
I needed to see some stuff. He showed me the stuff. But to your point, longest outing for a
Dodger starting pitcher since Max Scherzerz are in the 2021 NLDS. Now, this is a guy, I think,
early on in the, in the outing, Clint, that kind of got away a little bit with throwing some
pitches, leaving them over the middle of the plate. But I tell you what, they did not capitalize
he still had great conviction.
He still had great confidence in his pitches.
He just seemed to have, again, we talk about the aura and the confidence.
And Jack Flaherty had that tonight.
And he absolutely shoved.
But not only Jack Flaherty, this is a Dodgers pitching staff, Clint Paseas,
that has held the opponent scoreless for 33 consecutive innings.
That's just stupid.
That's just stupid.
33 consecutive scoreless innings.
That is unbelievable in the postseason.
I mean, if I'm being honest, I'm pretty happy.
about that. I don't think it's stupid. I welcome me very much. Stupid in a good way. Stupid in a good way.
When we, when we entered this postseason, I had a lot of faith in this starting
rotation, perhaps blind faith in this starting rotation. But, you know, it took a little bit of
getting kicked in the teeth to figure some things out. And Yamamoto, you know, did not have the best
in first start of his postseason career, but he figured some things out of.
as well. Jack Flaherty did not have a good first postseason start wearing Dodger Blue,
figured some things out there. And suddenly, suddenly you got a very, very good, you know,
one, two punch at the top. And that's what I kept saying. And Alana, I think you could attest
to this because we talked about it on a number of these shows. You need to have those two
frontline dogs because you don't really know what you have in Bueller. And, you know, if it was going
to be Landon Nack, then he's very unproven. And you also need to be able to save the bullpen. So now,
Dodgers in this wonderfully advantageous spot where most likely they're going through a bullpen game
tomorrow, which is a thousand percent the right call, then day off, then Walker Bueller, Yamamoto,
Yamamoto, and Flaherty again. That's fun. All right. You were very much team Yama. I was very
much team Jack. I was very hesitant to give Yamamoto any flowers. He totally proved me wrong in
game five of the NLDS and Jack Flaherty just shoved. This was ace type stuff, Clint to see us.
This is exactly what you needed to see from agent number zero, Jack Flaherty.
And not for nothing, though.
The offense really picked him up as well.
Shohei Otani, a hot start to the NLCS after a kind of me, D.S, as far as I'm concerned.
He looked good.
Obviously, Mookie looked good.
Max Muncie getting in on the action.
Kike Hernandez, you better never have him out of your lineup.
You better never have him out of your lineup.
And again, Te Oscar Hernandez, extend the man.
Teo doing things.
Where this inning started, where this game started, though, was off the bat of Max Muncie
because you started getting a little bit of that fear in the bottom of the first inning.
Dodgers load the bases.
Maybe they're not going to score.
And then it's like, oh, God, here we go again.
They're not going to score.
Mookie decides to hold up.
Dino decides to hold up Mookie on that played a short center field.
Thank God for Max Muncie getting out the Schneid.
And I needed to see something from Munchy.
I said this in my pregame on my channel this afternoon.
I need to see something from Muncie in this series.
After he kind of challenged everybody, rightfully so.
He said, all you motherfuckers, 80% of you.
We're picking the Padres, 80%.
But there's one of the one percent right there as well.
And you know what?
You need to have that.
You need to have that anger.
You need to have that grind.
You need to have something that puts that extra spark in your team.
So let's look at a little bit of, of Muncie.
see here very, very important. And you need to see that not trying to do too much. What are the Dodgers,
what are the Dodgers always talk about? Stay within yourself trying to do too much. And then a little
bit of hug there from the guys, uh, Muki and Freddie, the boys feeling good. I just love the fact that
it was with two out, you know, like that's such a huge dagger when you're the opposition.
And Kodai's saying God bless him, but he just didn't have a good stuff tonight, right? As far as if
you're a Mets fan, he just, Kodai did not have it. And, uh, Freddie Freeman, you know, he hurts me.
He hurts my heart and my body when I see him running.
This guy hates missing time.
But it's like he's so like hobbled with his ankle, poor guy, that it just, it hurts.
But to see him being able to do that, the guts, I love that RBI's, but also just guts from
Freddie Freeman.
And you jumped on Senga early.
And that's what you need to do.
Clint, we talked about setting this tone.
And obviously the starting momentum starts with that day's starting pitcher.
So for the Dodgers, it was Jack Flaherty.
Senga just didn't have it.
The daughter's offense picked it up.
I mean, you can look at the box score.
They're on the right hand side of your screen.
I mean, Shohei Otani was batting, you know, 500 today.
Bet's one for four.
Freeman, two for three.
Teasker, O for three, but he's been the MVP of the regular season and has some,
has had some big moments already in the postseason.
You know, Muncie, O for three, that's not really, that's not correct.
But anyway, you know, Will Smith, Kike, Lux, the whole thing.
I messed up.
How dare you, Clint Paseas.
You're like short, you know, you're shorting max.
He's already mad at me because I doubted this team. And I said Padres in five games. But the point is, it was such a complete game. You know what I mean? You have your boy, Jack Flaherty going seven scoreless and you have the offense picking him up. So it allows Jack to just like to shove, right? To be aggressive, be, you know, throw exactly like force him to hit what you're throwing. You know, you can be aggressive. You can attack the hitters. That was exactly what this Dodgers team needed tonight.
great crowd on hand.
Way to make a statement in that first game.
Absolutely.
Come check this.

I think coming out of where I came from, I'm from the Bronx, I think I grew up really poor.
I didn't know that then because I very much used my creativity to romanticize life.
And I'm like, my mom did a really good job of like, you step back and you're like, whoa,
we, I don't know how we made it.
So a lot of my life was like built out of like survival to get to the next place.

And, I mean, immediately, I'm seeing the chat, by the way, guys, sound off in the chat.
We'll try to get through as many folks as we can.
You see it on the screen wondering who is your player of the game.
Alana, I want to know who you.
your player at the game was, an important one from my guy,
Alexander Rose in the chat.
He says seven more wins.
And also our friend Scotty Braun in the chat,
a Mets fan.
Oh, he's a Mets fan.
Oh, Scott's a big Mets fan.
God bless him.
Hey, my player at the game's Flaherty.
I mean, you're only as good as you're starting with your as.
I mean, it's got to be Flaherty, right?
Like there's no other answer.
Flaherty, absolutely something special and something special from this team.
everybody doing a little bit to make a difference in this ball game.
And that's what I think that's the thing I like the most about this.
The lineup just did not quit.
They kept chipping away even into the bottom of the eighth inning.
They add three more runs there, much to my chagrin because I have to update the line
score.
But still, they kept on going.
It wasn't all perfect.
We should point out, you know, Gavin Lux did have to leave the game, you know,
relatively early with what was a called a hip flexor or hip flexor tightness there should not be an issue he's
most likely not going to be in the lineup tomorrow anyways against the the lefty mania but um yeah we feel
good but this was like everything that you wanted in a complete game right how about Tommy edmund speed
scoring from first like again that was like jack flarity was a right before the deadline acquisition
We didn't even have to see Michael Kopeck tonight,
but you have, you know, Jack Flaherty,
you have Tommy Edmund,
who obviously has the wheels,
can play a variety of positions.
This was just,
and I'm not saying it's a laffer.
I'm not trying to disparage the Mets at all.
I think they're a very good team,
and I don't think the Dodgers are going to win this thing in four.
I did say Dodgers in five, but whatever.
But I have to say, this was like as close to a laffer
that you can get in the postseason,
and man, the Dodgers needed this.
They needed a game where they had control right at the time.
the beginning and they didn't have to stress as much as they had to stress in the DS.
Yeah, Lapper is the right word.
Dominance is another word.
You're getting Flaherty shoving, quick, working super quick there early in the game.
I think he had, what, four no-hit innings to open the game.
Mets didn't get their first base knock until the fifth there.
Pitched around a little bit of damage as well.
Jesse Winker forgot how to run a little bit.
Got to run the bases.
Yeah, great deek as well from Kike Hernandez.
is, Senga looking super lost early and the Dodgers taking advantage in the right times,
the right lanes.
It wasn't just, oh, he's up there.
Let's keep free swinging, which Max did in his first swing.
I think he was kind of swinging for the fence, if I'm not mistaken.
Maybe I'm thinking of a different at bat, but still, you know, take advantage of somebody
when you see them very, very clearly on the ropes.
And you said, you know, Dodgers in five, I'm going to have a little fun with this one
because I said on my pregame show, I said Dodgers in six.
I'm going Dodgers in three now.
They're going to do the impossible.
Hey, hey, also I want Mets fans to run with that,
some asshole talking about the Dodgers and three.
Can't even do it.
I don't know.
The Mets are a very, very good ball club.
Do not sleep on the Mets even slightly.
But when you see what happened in this game,
just the precision that the Dodgers threw out there,
there were no mistakes, no mental mistakes either.
That's massively important as well.
We got a 499 super chat from our friend,
not the real Bob Nightingale,
but Laredes shoved per sources.
Per sources. I love that.
I don't know. I'm going to have to back up that source.
I need at least two other sources and say the same thing.
Another super chat.
Thank you so much.
Player of the game has to be Jumbo Jack.
No question.
I mean, I don't know how you can pick anybody else.
I mean, up and down the lineup, it was good, but Jack Flaherty absolutely, absolutely shoved.
It was so good to see it.
There was just something special about the way that he performed tonight.
Scott Braun, L.L.L. Frankie, got it right.
Swiss L.E. fan.
What?
Who actually, I can't read.
who actually also roots for her team treats media, right?
That made it easy.
Yeah.
I mean, listen, I'd cheer for anybody that gives me an interview,
anybody that treats me right.
It's hard to do our jobs.
It is.
I'm sorry.
It's hard.
It's hard to do our job.
It has its moments.
It gets easier to you.
I have met fans already jumping off.
No, I have met fans already jumping off the Empire State Building.
I'm like, you guys, it's, I've had, like, I'm betting on with some met fans.
I have a lot of met fan friends, right?
So I was like, all right.
If the Dodgers win, when the Dodgers win, you have to donate to me.
my foundation, Gidre's Guardian Foundation. And oddly enough, every single Met fan on the other side
just wants alcohol sent to them if the Dodgers lose. I've already had, I swear to you, on my dog,
I already have like some Met fans that have already paid their debt. I already paid the bet.
I'm like, it's game one. And they're like, we're done. We're done. I've already received,
I've already received the donations from some Met fans. I mean, you definitely got to give the Mets credit
getting to this point.
I said, I said somewhere earlier today that the Padres kind of, they built themselves
to one, beat the Dodgers and two, go far in the postseason.
The Mets strung together some things working on smoke and mirrors maybe to just make
the postseason.
It took a hell of a run to even get there.
And, you know, the mantra of the Dodgers and their social media team is the Kendrick Lamar
song that they not like us. And the dot, what I, I want anybody else who's older folk like some of us,
even though Alana is going to think I'm a youthful baby boy here. But you are, you are compared to me,
you are. After getting past game five, this is my feeling on it. After getting past game five,
it feels, and we still got a way to go, but this game one, to me, it's giving 2004 Red Sox,
right? When they got past the Yankees, the Cardinals were absolutely no.
no competition for them in the World Series.
Got seven more wins, do the Dodgers.
But that was the first, like, thing I had going on in my brain.
Okay, a couple of things.
Hang on, a couple of things before we throw to Hewle.
I said Dodgers in five because I was on a radio show on Saturday yesterday,
talking with Alex Curry on Fox Sports.
And I said Dodgers in five because I forgot that the CS was seven games.
Well, I said Dodgers in five, and then I was like, oh, wait, it's seven games.
I'm still going Dodgers and five.
So I'm sticking with it on that point.
Okay.
So that's where Dodgers in five comes, but I truly believe that.
And if you remember Clint Paseas, after game five of the D.S, I said, since the Dodgers got out of that round, they're going to the World Series.
The D.S was the biggest bugaboo.
Like, and I'm not saying that the Mets are not a formidable opponent.
I do believe it will be a dog fight in this series.
But getting over the hump that they had to get over in that, that DS,
I don't think anybody can stop them at this point.
I really don't.
It's a very good looking ball club.
It's a very complete ball club.
Producer Sarah in the background saying, you know, Dodgers arguably would be in very big trouble,
not arguably.
They would be in very big trouble without the trade deadline that they did.
Tommy Edmund playing a massive part, massive role for this team.
Copeck did not factor in today's game.
We'll factor in a whole bunch tomorrow.
And of course, Jack Flaherty.
Hey, where would the Tigers be if they had Jack Flaherty?
Sorry, Tigers fan.
No, they had a good season.
God bless them.
I mean, they were sellers at the deadline, but they had a great season.
But yes, Cole, give Roberts some love for not pulling.
I have to say, we have to give Roberts love for this game, game one.
But we also have to give Dave Roberts love for game four.
and five of the DS because this guy pushed every single correct button. It was a masterful
chess performance from Dave Roberts after I was questioning like what are we doing in game
three and boy I am getting absolutely obliterated on social media. Everyone's like you're not
welcome at Dodger Stadium you're a total traitor you've been gone for too long you're old
you're ugly put makeup on I've heard it all I've heard it all I've heard it all I've heard it all I've heard it
all, Dave Roberts has an unbelievable, has done an unbelievable job the last three games.
So let's give Dave Roberts some flowers, okay?
Listen, I'm just happy to know that you're getting my texts.
That's the important thing.
Boom, roasted.
Hey, let's, uh, why don't we real quick let, let's you stew on that.
And we'll, uh, we'll be back in a moment after a quick word from our friends,
A.J. J. Prisinski, Mr. Eric Kratz. And of course, the great.
The Met fan. We get it.

What really matters is Dodgers coming out.
Sorry.
I mean, no, no, no, no, you're fine.
Listen, this is all new.
I have to say for all of you guys listening and watching to us on Dodgers territory
tonight, big shout out to Clint because he's doing all of it.
He's not only hosting the show, but he's directing, he's pushing all the buttons.
He's doing a million different things.
So good for you, my friend.
I appreciate you doing this very much.
All right.
So let's look ahead to game two.
Obviously, nine to nothing is fantastic.
I hope that they didn't just, like, use up all the runs in game one as we move forward in this, in the seven game series.
You probably are right.
It's going to be a bullpen game tomorrow.
It's an early game.
It's three o'clock Eastern, correct?
So what is that?
No, it's a one o'clock my time.
No, one o'clock.
Yeah, one o'clock.
So four o'clock Eastern.
We will be post-gaming tomorrow here on the channel.
No, 12 o'clock show.
Make sure you guys tube in for a post-game show.
Right.
So what do you?
you need to see tomorrow. Obviously bullpen game Johnny Holstaff probably available, but they've got to
feel pretty good going into game two with a massive statement in game one. Yeah, I mean, the same thing
entering this game. You just got to keep the line moving, keep the same energy, keep those vibes
going. Bullpen is going to go out there. The Mets are not going to be happy with what happened to
them tonight. So they're going to try to pounce. They're going to try to jump all over this Dodgers,
There's all over the bullpen.
You know, you're missing pieces.
We didn't talk in this show about the fact that they didn't,
you don't have Alex Vescia in this series.
Brent Honeywell was very, very good for this team all year long.
And we saw Casperius get his first action in the game,
scoreless inning there in the top of the ninth.
But like you said, it's Johnny Holstaff.
You just got to keep applying the pressure.
Keep that hose down their throats, like you said,
in the NLDS, whatever show it was, a post-game show there.
So it's on the bats.
It's on Shohey, who had himself a nice little bounceback game.
Did not look great in his final two division series games.
But, yeah, I feel really good about this team.
And I'll say it again, you can't even do it, Dodgers and 3.
Yeah, okay, I'm going to go to Dodgers and five.
But, okay, you brought up Alex Fescia.
And that's a really good point because I don't think we've given him enough credit
for what he's been able to do throughout the year.
So he's not on the roster, obviously.
So how do you think that affects things?
Not necessarily in terms of innings of what guys are pitching in what inning because I think there's so much, you know, everybody is kind of a carousel there and guys are in different roles.
But, I mean, it's a big loss to this, to this Dodgers bullpen.
Yeah, I mean, that was the one guy who was with this team with that bullpen outside of Danny Hudson who did get a little break somewhere in there.
But as Jerry Harrison called him, the real AV was in there the entire season.
he was an outright general in that bullpen and the numbers were disgusting.
They were nasty.
He was the one guy that when we were looking at that bullpen entering the season,
we kind of had a little bit of fears.
Like if there's a weak spot after going out and committing, you know,
$1.3 billion to this team, it's a weak spot.
It might be Alex Vescia.
Now you lose him.
Yeah, it's a big time blow for a team that has Jesse Winker,
who's having a nice postseason.
They just get Jeff McNeil back.
They have another lefty in there.
And, of course, you know, Francisco Lindor,
bats from both sides. But the thing about Brent Honeywell, which is funny, is he's actually
much more nasty against lefty pitching with that screwball and you still have Anthony Bonda
around. So it shouldn't, it's a big blow. It's outright a big blow. But I think they can survive
and they can manage. And as long as you're getting big starts like this in game one from Jack
Flaherty and the next starter you're going to see is Walker Bueller in game three, who I think
we're going to see the best of the best of Walker Bueller in that game three. Put it down,
put it on record people.
You're going to be in a good spot.
I agree with you. I agree with you.
I agree with you.
I agree with you a thousand percent.
I think Walker is going to show up Clint.
I don't have anything negative to say about this game.
I can't think of a better start, a better game one start.
And I'm not just saying it's because it's 9-0.
I think they just did everything the right way.
I can't think of a better start to ACS than what the Dodgers displayed tonight.
No, there's not a better start.
You go out there, you third straight shutout, nine runs on the board, not all in one inning.
They peppered.
They kept scoring.
There were small ball played.
You saw, you know, some buntz in there, didn't rely on the long ball.
And that was one of the things exiting the NLDS.
I had it on my notes.
Like, if I'm trying to poke holes in this team, is they were extremely reliant, as they
tend to be reliant on the slug.
In this series, in this game one, they were just finding some grass.
And that's all you got to do, especially in October, especially as it gets maybe a little bit cooler at Dodger Stadium.
We don't worry about that tomorrow afternoon.
You got to just find some grass and find it quick.
Listen, I live in Massachusetts.
It was 42 degrees in raining today.
So I don't want to hear it.
Okay.
I was going to send you a picture outside my front window of the beautiful sunshine and the 81 or whatever it was this afternoon.
But I figured that would be kind of a dick move.
I miss Los Angeles so much.
for so many reasons, like living there.
Yeah, I have nothing to say other than, you know,
like maybe if Lux can like lay down the bunt to the other side
instead of going one, the baseline he went, go the other way.
But I mean, if that's the only thing that I'm like,
create, create drama.
No, the only thing it's like,
is if that's the only thing I'm complaining about, like,
I mean, really, like we, this was a,
this was a tremendous game one against a very good MET team.
And now I wonder what the Mets are like, oh boy,
you know.
Like this is a this is a much better team.
Mike Lopez,
two thousand twenty four is redemption year.
Cat Williams called it.
Everyone is going to get.
Oh boy.
I don't know that that's what he was talking about,
but okay,
I probably should have read that before I read it out loud.
But Mike,
thanks for being part of the show.
I'm the one who I'm the one who push the button.
You know,
there's no rules here.
And I push the button.
I could push this one as well.
Flint is the dude.
Did you put this?
Yeah.
Did you actually type this out yourself?
Did you like send this to yourself?
No.
No,
Victor. Can we talk about the 1 p.m. start? There's a 1 p.m. start and then there's a 2 p.m.
start on Friday in New York. I hate it. I hate it a lot. The thing is though no one's ever going
to be happy. Like I live on the East Coast. It's 1130 right now. I'm like, really? Can we start
the games earlier? But the problem is if you start it much earlier, then people in Los Angeles
aren't even off of work yet. So there's no, there's no happiness. Like, think about the
guardians and the tigers that they were moved up from 8 p.m. to 1 p.m. And it's like, then you have to deal
with the shadows at four o'clock. I mean, you're never going to make everybody happy. So,
like, we can complain about it, but there's, there's really no great solution to make everyone
that's watching the games happy. I mean, tomorrow we, they play at one o'clock, right? I mean,
that's just ridiculous. They play at one o'clock on a Monday. Yeah, that's just, that's silly.
Noah, what's up? Let's go, Noah.
$1.99, super chat, play, I appreciate you, bud.
Alana, well, are the daughters and five. Yeah, I mean, I was there because I forgot the
stupid championship series with seven games, but I'm still going for it. I think the
mental win one game the Dodgers win for. I'm still, I'm still sticking with it.
Don't they play at 1 p.m. on Sunday and a lot of Wednesdays and Thursdays. There's two games
on certain days. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know. I'm, I'm pleased. I'm thrilled with this team.
Good job, you guys. Good job, Jack Flaherty. Jack Flaherty, doing what you got to do.
Bullpen, you're up next. Then it's Walker. Then it's Yamamoto. And then it's Dodgers and
four. You rest up for them, uh, Yankees? Let's not get too far ahead.
Let's not get too far ahead.
I hope everything is good with Gavin Lux.
But yeah, just keep applying the pressure.
I think that's the biggest thing you can say at this point before we sign off.
It's just about applying the pressure.
Could you give me a favor and change Muncie's line to one for four instead of over for three?
Because I don't want Muncie calling us.
And he comes on foul territory a lot and we're shorting him.
He's already mad at us because of the 80% saying that they couldn't win.
So please change that.
The thing is what?
What happened was when Dave changed.
What had happened was.
When he changed the lineup in game five, here, I'll just do this.
I'll just get rid of it entirely.
We'll go with Jack Flaherty.
That's your biggest thing.
He flipped the names and that's about it.
But I think we should get the F out of here.
Guys, your Dodgers are very, very much victorious.
Nine-nothing, another shutout.
Our pets' heads are staying on this off-season.
33 scoreless innings, Clint's.
Let's go.
Let's go.
We are, as Clint mentioned, we do not have our regular show tomorrow at 3 p.m. Eastern, 12 p.m. Pacific.

Heck of the game one for Florence, Dodgers. Good job.
Bye.
Then she says, have you seen a photo of my son?
And I'm like, who is this person?

Only your entire family?
I sacrificed myself to this ancient tradition hoping to find love the right way.
And instead, I found chaos, comedy and a lot of cringe.
