Hey guys, it's us
The Jonas Brothers.
I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick.
And guess what?
We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it.
But, you know, tired and sick.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Just listen.
We don't care where you hear it.
Another podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel
help an a cappella band with their between songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.
Listen to humor me with Robert Smigel and Friends on the IHeart Radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
For years, the unhoused have been presented as a monolith in mainstream media.
Wheatian House is a podcast that's changing the narrative.
I'm Theo Henderson, and I created the show why I was unhoused on the streets of Los Angeles.
We've grown into a two-time Webby Award-winning podcast,
the only podcast that shares unhoused stories and news from the unhoused perspective.
Listen to Weythian House on the IHard Radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcast.
This is going to be significant time for Taylor.
I agree with you.
And you could tell how upset he was.
It's almost like you knew that he knew that this is an extended stretch.
You will take it anytime you can get it.
Hello, everybody.
And welcome to a live edition of Dodgers Territory postgame.
I'm Alana Rizzo.
That is Clint Fasius.
Katie Wu, of course, is in the dot.
Well, she's on her way.
The game just ended.
So she's on her way into the,
post game press conference room and then into the clubhouse we are psyched that you guys are here
thanks for being here greatest five stars like subscribe all of the good things this is the number
that we've been sitting on for a very long time can somebody just tell your grandma tell your
neighbor tell your dog tell your cat tell your iguana let's get us to 20 000 subs guys it matters so
good to be with you guys clint we did it it's uh this was a good good series game 56 of 162 show hey otani
versus countryman right-hander Tomoyuki Suganu.
And I tell you what, the Dodgers took advantage.
Yeah.
You take advantage of the Rockies.
You got to sweep the Rockies.
We entered this series saying I entered this series saying the Dodgers need to sweep the Rockies.
And mercifully, every time I've called for a sweep, they haven't done it.
This is the time they finally do.
You got to beat the Rockies.
Of course, that is not the top story of this game.
We will get into a myriad of greatness.
That was the Dodgers in this game.
I don't know about greatness.
There was a very good game, despite Shoah not having his best stuff.
Despite the Dodgers only putting up four runs against the Rockies.
But the Dodgers, of course, lose Tay Oscar Hernandez to a hamstring injury.
And Reza didn't look good.
Bottom of the second inning comes up lame, takes a long time to walk back to that dugout.
Dave kind of tries to cut him off.
He just walks by somber, see him kind of grabbing at the back of his left leg.
and then he just starts slamming his helmet there in the in the dugout this this is going to be
significant time for 10 I agree with you and you could tell how upset he was it's almost like
you knew that he knew that this is an extended stretch he's upset he's upset that he's hurt
this is a huge blow for the Dodgers Dodgers I mean he's hitting 276 on the season 2901 over
his last 30 games I felt yesterday Clint when we found out that Kike Hernandez was injured that
like literally hurt my heart because Kike having just come off the IL and then two days later
he's back on the I.O. with an oblique pretty significant tear that's going to have him out at
my guess is at least two months maybe three months that's awful and then you have what is it
with the Hernandez injuries right now? Teo and Kike it's like and you could tell that Teo knew
something was something was not right so it's unfortunate but this is why you are thankful
for the depth of the Dodgers, but it's a bummer.
I mean, he was really starting to find his stride, right?
I mean, you put it in our rundown, our production rundown.
400 over the last week was also one of the big right-handed bats in this lineup.
He's going to miss time.
So in your opinion, Clint, because you're very good at the moves.
Who's going to take his spot?
I will answer that in a second when I prep one screen here that I had going in the background.
Yeah, first I want to talk a little bit more about where he's.
he was, like how important, not only being an important right-hander in this Dodgers lineup,
that's pretty left-hand heavy.
You know, on the season hitting 276, getting that average back up, 291 over his last 30,
hitting 400 over the last week.
You're starting to see the power come back for him as well.
The OPS coming back for him, but he will be out a significant amount of time.
And, yeah, that is the big question, Riz.
Who is going to get that call?
Right away, the people on the internet calling for James Tibbs III, very loud.
prospect for this Dodgers organization early in the year.
He went 20, I think it was 21 games between his homers.
He was stuck on 11 homers for a hot stretch.
Hit his 12th a couple nights ago.
Overall, having a great season.
One problem for him.
He is still young.
Another problem for him and the Dodgers.
He is not on the 40-man roster.
While being a popular decision, I don't think the Dodgers pulled that lever right now to go to
James Tibbs III.
I mean, maybe they decide to do that.
they see that he has some runway in knowing that Teoscar Hernandez is probably going to be out.
I don't know.
I ain't know a big city doctor, but I mean, the floor is going to be.
I mean, honestly, the two Hernandez brothers right now have the two worst injuries that you have
absolutely no predictability with, right?
You have the oblique that could be forever.
And you have a ham, we're assuming it's a hamstring injury, right?
I didn't hear anything to the contrary.
The team did put out something about a hamstring injury, not the severity, of course, we won't know.
both of those are absolutely brutal.
You have absolutely no idea when they're going to come back and you can't push it.
It's such a like a weird ebb and flow with obliques and hamstrings because you feel good and then you stretch it and then it sends you out for another couple of months.
So those are both garbage injuries.
I hate it.
Both of us being the consummate professional of former athletes that we are, you know, like when it gets into actual game time, that's where you aggravate those injuries.
And that's what happened with Kike Hernandez.
We'll talk more about Kike tomorrow when Katie's with us
because she had a front row seat to a very, very sad, somber scene in front of Enrique's locker.
He doesn't like to be called Enrique, but either way, yet last night.
But back to the lecture at hand here about who could be taking that spot.
Again, I don't see it being, as much as I would love it to be James Tibbs III.
I don't see the Dodgers pulling that lever just yet.
unless it is a stretch where they feel they can give him a run,
but he's another lefty bat.
So that gives me a little bit of pause.
Ryan Ward, of course, is on the 40-man roster.
He has already made his Major League debut this season.
He's having an okay year, not a great month of May down to AAA,
but if you have him around, this is what he's here for.
This is what all last year, you know, I was, you know,
slamming my wrists into the table about or hands into the table about,
If you're looking for an opportunity to call Ryan Ward up all through the Michael Conforto struggles,
Conforto never got hurt. He stayed healthy for the entirety of the season.
Now you have a very clear path to playing time for Ryan Ward.
So it could be someone like him.
Another one of the names I was looking at on the 40 men.
Alec Thomas, former Arizona Diamondback.
Which is crazy, Clint.
I forgot about him.
I forgot they even signed the dude.
It was a very weird transaction.
He is on the 40 man, of course, claimed off waivers from Arizona.
Hasn't even played a game in the organization yet.
He's likely, I think they said they were going to keep him at Camelback for a while,
working on the swing, getting the mechanics going again,
because never been a great hitter at the major league level.
Phenomenal defensive center fielder has something in the bat,
and that's the type of player that this Dodgers organization can find something with.
They could necessarily find it, of course, with James Outman,
couldn't find it with somebody like Alex
Redugo after a stretch,
but Alec Thomas,
not an option, is not playing games
right now. Another name, a series
of names, people are going to want to talk about
prospect-wise. I'll throw three at you guys
real quick here. Mike Serrota, Jose de Paul,
sorry, Josue de Paula, and of course,
Zaire Hope. Mike Serota just got moved up
to double A like a week ago. It will
not be him as good as he has been
since the Dodgers traded for him
two off seasons ago
trading Gavin Lux over to the
Cincinnati Reds and then DePaula
Zaire Hope both 21 years old
both playing at high A or I think they're
playing at double A right now
all of those guys not on the 40
Mad not options if we're looking at who
it's going to end up being
it's going to be guys in house you're going to see
Alex Call getting a lot of playing time
in the wake of
losing to Oscar Hernandez at least
in the immediate stretch it's going to be him
probably running some
sort of platoon with Heson Kim, who looked not terrible in left field today, his first time doing it
as a-tnerable.
I mean, that was pretty good.
I was like, I even asked you, I was like, how many times has Hassan Kim played left field?
You're like, this is the first.
He looked good.
Yeah, he looked good.
And I'm like, I really, really like Alex Call.
I like what Alex Call brings to this club.
He's a gamer.
He's a lunch pill guy.
I know we've talked about at a time.
Like, he just kind of like puts his head down and does.
what he does. He knows his role. He's not a superstar and he's okay with that. But anytime
Alex Call has been given the opportunity, he's done really well with that chance. I appreciate that
about him. I'm a I'm a fan of Alex Call. Let's get to some of these super chats. We appreciate
you guys very much. There's a 999 super chat that we put in here. Now I can't find it, of course.
Oh, yeah. From Dan. Dan White'sman, E7M, 99 from him. Let's keep this going great. It was a great
series. And again, I don't care who it's against, you guys. You play the schedule that you're given.
And you wanted to sweep. We got to sweep. You have to take advantage of these teams. I feel like
they're finally starting to gain some traction. Benny Monarch. Thank you so much. Superchat,
a buck from you. I appreciate you very much. Yeah. I mean, this is, I want Alex call on the
roster. I want Hessan Kim on the roster. And now they have the opportunity. More playtime for
call and let maybe. Maybe. Now with a, you know, to ask for it.
percentage period of time. If it's a hamstring, this is really, this is crappy. Yeah, and court
bringing up, I didn't think of it in the moment. Shout out court. It says court for medical, so maybe
court is a doctor. Different show, but did sign up for my discord on my other Dodgers YouTube channel.
So I appreciate court being supportive over there, hanging out with us here today. Hamstring was the injury
for Teo last year. And Riz, we recall very painfully the struggles he endured coming back, also coming back
early from that hamstring injury a season ago.
That's another thing.
If we're looking for positives,
if we're looking for silver lining before we take a quick break here
and talk more about the actual game,
this happened now.
Having it happen at the end of May is much better than in August or September
because you can get these guys back.
Regardless of the severity of these injuries for both the Hernandez,
does not sound good,
but I think they can be back with enough time
to ramp up, get into game, game shape, get into having seen enough major league pitching
over the stretch of like a month to be ready for the postseason.
That's the goal.
That's the whole.
Yeah.
That's the whole point, right?
Yeah.
And hopefully a lot sooner, by the way.
I don't know, man.
Those injuries are so shitty.
But yeah, no, I mean, this is, pump the break.
Yeah.
No, I mean, this is, that's what you hope.
the daughters have a four and a half game lead they play the whole regular season just to get to
October they're going to be fine ke keg's going to be back teo's going to be back but you hate to
lose both those guys basically on back to back nights with injuries that um are very very hard to predict
yeah yeah very long recovery times uh guys we're going to take a quick pause here we will be back
we'll talk show hey otani the dodgers pitching stuff he's pretty good he's he's some uh
He's all right.
He's all right.
He's good at his job.
But for now, our friends at Fowel Territory are going to tell you about this.

So do sign up.
We'd appreciate it if you do.
And I said we'd talk, Shohei Otani, heading into the break.
And that is exactly what we're going to do.
A really good start without his best stuff.
And that is what we would say is an understatement right there.
Did not have his best stuff early or at any point, really, over his six-inning,
struggle with the command, didn't have the sweeper for a lot of the game, still
held the Rockies hitless over six.
What'd you like about show?
I just love the fact that he gives himself run support immediately.
I'm just going to go ahead and smack a home run.
That's fine.
I'm just going to go ahead and do this and give myself some run support.
No, he didn't have his best stuff, but that's okay.
I just, the man has so much confidence and the man has so much talent.
It's just ridiculous.
And I love the fact that he continues when he is allowed, I guess, to hit and pitch,
that he makes, he makes,
it happened and he pays dividends immediately with the home run there.
I just, I don't know.
He's, he's just a, he's just a gym.
I just want to hug him.
I just want to be like, you're so cool.
Joe Hey, thank you so much.
No, it was good.
It was a great outing.
I love it for him.
He struggled with command, as you said, but he only, he gave up his only fifth earned run
of the season.
That's the crazy part, right?
So I mean, but a balloon to point eight two.
Right. 0.82 from 0.73.
but I guess his biggest bugaboo Clint is the walks.
What does he have four walks so far?
I mean,
four walks this season.
Or sorry, this game.
That was kind of the issue.
But I mean, still like, okay.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Let's get the pitching all together on the season picks up his fifth win.
Again, 0.82 ERA's 55 innings on the year.
The whip.
He's not allowing base runners as well.
Again, as evidenced by no hits for the rocket.
today and the walks not being great.
But I mean, we've talked about it.
We don't need to dive too much into it.
Did ask our friend Stephen Nelson yesterday.
Like, is this guy going to be a Cy Young, like an honest Cy Young contender?
Is he going to get enough love?
The only thing, the only thing holding him back is the innings.
That's it.
Yeah.
If he doesn't pitch a certain.
Yeah.
If he doesn't pitch a certain amount of innings, I mean, he's just, he's so flipping good.
All right.
Let's, we, we can glaze show hey all we want.
He's amazing.
How about the bullpen?
This Dodgers bullpen has been so incredibly good this season.
I mean, a clean seventh for Will Klein.
He has been nails.
His ERA is under two now, by the way.
By the way, by the way, with Will Klein,
not certain that I could pick him out of a lineup and not certain I could pick
Kyle Hurd out of a lineup.
Maybe that's a reflection on me, not a reflection on them.
But Tanner Scott was great tonight.
Like, I just like the bullpen has.
been nails, Clint. Yeah, it's been really good. I mean, outside of Miguel Rojas reliever
last night, they have been fantastic at getting the job done all season long, but they have
really, really been locked in. The only earned run they've given up in the last 40, coming up 50
innings, I think it is now, was Kyle Hurt allowing the Homer a couple days ago. So that really
helps win your team when your offense has struggled at times. I don't know if we would count
this game as a struggle kind of game. He did score only four runs, but a couple of guys with
multi-hit games there, Pahas, Freddie Freeman with homers, we'll talk more about them and the offense
in a second. But to continue and finish up on the bullpen glaze, which weird way of putting that
together, I intentionally strung that sentence that way. We need to glaze them for sure.
Will Klein.
You know, I've talked about him.
We keep talking a little bit more about him.
And everybody knows I'm a Kyle Hurt stand boy.
He's always going to be my guy.
ERA under two now for Will Klein.
This is a guy who, you know, a season ago had an ERA, you know, approaching 10 at AAA, I think for the Mariners, didn't know what he.
This is like the next pitching equivalent of a Max Munzi.
Like, might as well have pulled him off a couch and turn.
turned him into a quiet superstar, not that middle relievers are ever superstars, but a quiet
superstar for this team.
It's been, it's been really fun to watch him continue to grow.
And the confidence you see from Will Klein on the mound, that is a guy that believes in
himself.
And that, that's a reflection of the organization saying, hey, we believe in you, dude.
Like Dave Roberts being the kind of guy you know he is to get.
get the most out of his players.
How much do you think the bullpen performance is because you don't want to let show hay down?
Well, if they didn't want to let show hay down, Tanner Scott wouldn't allow that single to blow the no-hatter.
I mean, my God, it was one flippers.
I know, I'm messing around.
You are, you are tough.
You are a tough judge.
Listen, I mean, we know how it is with pitchers in general.
In the starting rotation, you know, you get in that mode.
Obviously, I've been a big league professional pitcher so many years.
They get in that mode where it is a competition.
They want to try to be better than the guy before them, be better than the guy who's going to start the game after them.
In that bullpen, nobody wants to let any single one of them down, not just the starters, but it's for those guys.
It's for those bullpen dogs.
It's for the guys that, as I revealed here on this show, everybody knows on all Dodgers, the guys that are on that confidence cactus, they, they, they,
don't want to let each other down, whether it's
Edgaro Henrique, Paul Jervais, getting
random opportunities
in there. The only Hernandez left,
Jonathan Hernandez, right now. We are
down to one Hernandez again on this team.
It's been impressive
and it's going to be
the reason that bullpen
and to a degree, of course, the rotation, but that
bullpen is going to be a reason the Dodgers
win a World Series for the third
time in a row. It will be on
the strength of that bullpen.
It's funny, too, because I feel
like it's a it's a very cyclical thing right there one year it was the bullpen the next year it was
the starting staff now it's back to the bullpen right it's just an interesting way that it happens
and the dodgers continue to figure it out uh we appreciate everything that everyone is doing um much
more to come on dodgers territory on this live post game edition after the dodgers uh sweep the
Colorado Rockies in Los Angeles.
More to come, but first, a word about seat geek.
Yeah, we've got to tell you guys about seat geek.
Listen, at Dodger Stadium, there's a lot of bubblehead days coming up this weekend.

Last little bit.
I'm seeing people in the comments.
Listen, we're going to address Andrew McCutcheon in just a second.
I want to touch on all of the pieces that help the Dodgers win the game offensively today.
Again, we talked about a show, Hey, Otani, leadoff homer.
You're talking about a Freddie Freeman hitting his seventh homer.
He's hitting over 300 with three homers over his last 10 games.
He's locking in.
Alex Call, our friend of the show.
Check it out.
He joined us in the offseason.
Another RBI hit, his 10th RBI,
with limited playing time, a guy that I imagine is going to get a lion's share of the playing
time alongside, probably Hesson Kim in left field with Teosker down.
But Andy Pah has another homer.
13th on the season, leading the Dodgers.
How about his ninja-like moves at first base?
moving around the tag and then falling, but getting, like, getting the base hit.
Like, I love him.
Why did you want to send him to the moon, Clint?
What is wrong with you?
Don't you put that evil on me, Ricky Bobby?
Wasn't all me, all right?
He was bad.
He was bad for a stretch last year, but he learned.
He grew.
And average now, I believe, back up over, over 300 on the season.
Yeah, hitting 303, 13 dingers, 50 RBI to lead the team.
This is a guy that needs to be an all-star, Alana.
100% without a doubt.
Andy Paix needs to be an all-star this year.
And with guys like Freddie struggling,
Mookie's struggling,
I think the path will never be clearer
for Andy Pa-has to become an all-star this year.
I'll go and I will go to Philly and be his interpreter.
That's, that works.
I mean, you know Juan's going.
Sure.
I'll go.
But again, the final thing I wanted to address
before we get out of here,
and guys,
I'm going to continue the conversation over on my All-Dodgers YouTube channel.
Myself, Jeff Snyder, will talk more about the left field situation, Kike Hernandez situation.
And we will also, me, Alana, Katie, be back here live tomorrow, noon Pacific time 3 p.m. Eastern.
But a couple people jokingly putting in the chat, and I use the wrong screen for this.
But how about Andrew McCutcheon?
It might have been mostly Raul bringing up McCutcheon, who was DFA, I think today by the Texas Rangers.
I adore Andrew.
I adore.
No, no, no.
First of all, first of all, he is one of the best ambassadors of this great game that we play,
and he deserves nothing but respect.
Andrew McCutcheon has done everything right that is great about this game.
His career is probably over.
Do I want him on the Dodgers?
No, it's not a good fit, but he has done everything the way that he needs to be,
and I appreciate everything that he has given to this game.
this game. So congratulations, Anna McCutcheon, on what is probably the end of your career,
but you've, you've been a pleasure to watch, a pleasure to get to know, and I'm, I'm,
I'm bummed that he got DFAed, but he's, he's, he's one of the good ones. Let's put it that way.
I really hope he ends up back with Pittsburgh in some capacity, not playing. They don't, they don't,
they don't deserve him anymore. I even let him go. They don't deserve him.
Let's see.
And this was, you know, I'm glad.
I'm glad Clayton took it out of our hands.
I'm just saying that when he retired when he did,
Cutch did not want to retire.
He wanted to keep on playing until he was, you know,
he wanted to be the next Julio Franco playing until he's 50.
Oh my God, he was like 50.
Yeah.
God bless him.
That is an old dude.
Anyways, guys, we appreciate you.

Hey, guys, it's us
The Jonas Brothers, I'm Joe.
I'm Kevin.
And I'm Nick, and guess what?
We created our own podcast called, Hey Jonas.
We invented a podcast?
Well, we didn't invent it.
We just contributed to it.
We're the first people to do podcasts.
We get to ask other people questions because we're sick and tired of being asked questions.
Well, sick and tired is a strong way to put it, but, you know,
tired and sick.
Tired and sick.
Listen to Hey Jonas on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast.
Just listen.
We don't care where you hear it.
podcast from some SNL late-night comedy guy, not quite.
Unhumor me with Robert Smygel and Friends.
Me and hilarious guests from Bob Odenkirk to David Letterman help make you funnier.
This week, my guest, SNL's Mikey Day and head writer Streeter Seidel, help an
a cappella band with their Between Songs banter.
Where does your group perform?
We do some retirement homes.
Those people are starving for banter.

Every family has its secrets.
But what happens when you discover that your dad has been living a double life?
That is not the look of an innocent man.
Is everyone lying to me about who they are?
I felt such desperation.
I felt it was what I had to do.
