Listen to boys and girls on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. And as we get into the final two or three
Starting point is 00:01:54 exhibition starts from these guys, now you'll really start seeing them kind of pitch for results instead of pitch for feel. What's going on? Welcome to Dodgers Territory Postgame. I'm Alana Rizzo. That is Katie Wu and Clint Pacea. Of course, you can do it on YouTube as well.
Starting point is 00:02:41 Cactus League game number 18. Katie, they win this one, 4-2-1. now, what, 12 and 6 on the spring, 11 and 6 on the spring? As far as that's game 18, so 12 and six on the spring. Tyler Gladznow versus Brandon fought, Katie, we'll start with you. Gladysnow looking pretty good today. I look at his final line here as far as that is concerned. After the second pitch of the game went over the fence, he settled in really well. What do you take away from his, what, fourth start as far as practice league is concerned? Yeah, you know, sometimes you win the challenge basketball. Sometimes you'll lose it. But
Starting point is 00:03:17 I think there's a good adjustment after that. There's only one way to go after your first batter of the game goes yard. But Tyler Glassnow looks exactly how he should right now. Up to 60 pitches, normal progression. Dave Roberts has set throughout the spring. They need Glass Now to be built up to a traditional length. They don't need every starter, but they certainly need Glass Now to be there. He looks right on track.
Starting point is 00:03:39 He looks good. We talked about this before. The biggest thing for Glass Now is just making sure that Arsenal's working, that he has good feel in command for all of his pitches. And as we get into the final two or three exhibition starts from these guys, now you'll really start seeing them kind of pitch for results instead of pitch for feel. Usually right around the five inning 75 pitch mark is when guys really start to kind of ramp up their arsenal and pitch more in a game setting. So excited to see how it looks after that. But so far, so good for Mr. Glass now.
Starting point is 00:04:06 Clint, they were talking on the broadcast, both Tim Neversett and Rick Monday, we're talking on the broadcast about how he's made some mechanical changes going back to last season. So from a tactical standpoint, as Rick Monday was calling it, he's running more smoothly on the mound now. He has much more trust. The trust has been established between he and Mark Pryor, Connor McGinnis. Today's pitch count 60 pitches and four and a third. What do you make of the tactical improvement you're seeing from glass? I think trust is a really good word there because we saw early last season. We saw in spring training.
Starting point is 00:04:41 We saw before spring training even in Dodger, best. There was a lot of talk about changing some things at the mechanics, trying to work on getting spine and different elbows and kneecaps working in order to get down the mound. He is a lot of man both, mainly this way. I'm a lot of man this way. He's a lot of man that way. You really got to be watching the show for the hand gestures. But he said that he had found something late last year. and I think him working with this coaching staff, finally finding some maybe some verbiage that works between him, Mark Pryor, Connor McGinnis, everybody involved.
Starting point is 00:05:21 You're seeing a guy that when he wants to be in control, he's in control. And you're seeing this guy that we've talked about off and on. Like, is he an ace? We know the ace potential is there. He is setting himself up to have a big, big 26 season here. But you got to love what you're seeing out of Tyler Glasner, like Katie said, you know,
Starting point is 00:05:40 He's doing exactly what he needs to do to ramp himself up. We reached the 60 pitch plateau. That was the mark we were going for today. But somebody like me who, I don't say I enjoy critiquing Tyler Glass now. I have no notes. What we're seeing out of Glass is exactly what we want to see. Yeah. By the way, let's shout out Justin Yamas, number one, who is in France right now watching Dodgers territory from France.
Starting point is 00:06:08 He also said so glad Katie Wu waived. her no trade clause from a rebuilding St. Louis, a title contender in L.A. Katie Wu has some fans in the chat. Ben Casparius, I'm becoming more and more of a fan of him, Katie. Comes on in relief, gets the two quickouts in, you know, two thirds of an inning, zero hit, zero earned runs, the 1K, 245 ERA in spring.
Starting point is 00:06:30 A good get again for this Dodgers bullpen. What have you noticed from him in Cactus League play? I think with Casperius, it's more of just an understanding and clarity within his role. He knew coming into spring, the Dodgers were going to use him as a traditional believer. And that can really help guys maybe kind of settle into what they're going to do for the rest of the season. Some guys can manage both. Emmett Sheen is a guy that can be, you know, a traditional reliever, a swing man, a starter. And it's difficult. It's definitely an acquired skill set. And I'm not saying Ben Casperius can't do that because he's been asked to do so many different roles. But for a guy
Starting point is 00:07:02 coming in with a specific role designated by the team and knowing he can just put all of his effort into that during spring, the Dodgers are going to need him in that bullpen. We've We talked a lot about the veterans in the back end of the bullpen. Diaz, of course, Tanner, Scott, Lake, Trinan looking for bounce back years. Alex Bessia is going to have a big role there as well. That's important because it allows the guys like Ben Casperius, Kyle Hurt, making a way for, you know, to make the opening day rotation or bullpen possibly. Words are hard today, guys.
Starting point is 00:07:30 Essentially, it allows, if you have your veteran bullpen locked in the back, it allows for the younger guys, the less experienced guys, to feel more comfortable in their role. and that's exactly what we're seeing with Ben Casperius so far. He just looks a lot more comfortable in this traditional reliever role. Yeah, I think that's a big thing, too, Katie, is having him understand his role. Know his role now last year. We've talked about it a bunch here on the show. He was kind of bounced back and forth.
Starting point is 00:07:56 They said he was in, oh, that's the wrong button. He said he was going to go to the rotation. Then they kind of did, but then kind of didn't. He was a workhorse for this team early last season. And, you know, the way things are lining up right now, entering his sluble. third year of big league playing time. This is lining up to be another big season for him as a middle reliever, as somebody who could who can get, you know, some outs in the back end of a game. We've seen him close games here in the Cactus League, even though it doesn't mean very much.
Starting point is 00:08:25 But Riz, I would say this is a type of dude that 100% can continue to climb up Dave Roberts' trust tree and, you know, be a guy that's a dude for that bullpen late in the season. trust tree growth for sure climb in that ladder as well as the circle of trust and what i talked about yesterday guys with the body language that i needed to see from roki sasaki and we'll get to roki here momentarily i am already seeing that and much more from ben casparius it's almost like he has such much more a much more calmness about him a poise a presence um he looks really good so far this spring i get it we talked about it at length numbers don't always matter but they do when you're trying to make the rotation you're trying to make the roster you're trying to make the bullpen
Starting point is 00:09:05 245 ERE in spring. He looks really, really good today. We know Blake Trinen has a spot, Katie, but he had a decent outing today, just the one and two hits, zero earned runs, no K's, but no walks, a 1080 ERA in spring. And again, you're talking about a bounce back year from Blake Trinon. You said that he's going to need to have that. He will if he wants to maintain his spot in the back end of the rotation. But what are you noticing about Blake Trinin in terms of, is this just a period of tweaking things, working on things, health. What do you see from him? I think that's a fair way to look at it.
Starting point is 00:09:42 Obviously, you'd like to see better results if you're Blake Trinen, especially given how last season ended. But look, he's high on Dave Roberts list because Blake Trinan is a guy that can go out there, and he has such a short memory, and you need that when you're a reliever. So he's someone that if he has a bad outing, he can wear it and be totally fine for the next start or next appearance. And that is super important, again, with the amount of youth that the Dodgers are going to be relying on in the middle innings.
Starting point is 00:10:07 So there's going to be a long release for Blake Trinnan. He's earned it in his career. Relief pitching is so volatile. It's so much like, what have you done for me lately? And there is so much that we focus on because usually when a reliever has a bad outing, it results in a loss. That's just the nature of the game. A reliever comes in the seventh and pitches a scoreless one, two, three inning.
Starting point is 00:10:25 And you're like, yeah, cool, thanks for doing your job. Comes in there and blows the lead in the seventh and the Dodgers lose four to two. All of a sudden, you're like, why was this guy even in the game? What are we doing? Come on, Dave Roberts. So I understand that there's a little bit of a juxtaposition with relievers, but Blake Trinan has a longer leash. He has the veteran experience.
Starting point is 00:10:42 The Dodgers are going to rely on that, especially early in April when their rotation isn't fully stretched out. And then if the performance kind of resembles what we're seeing in spring so far, then there's a bigger discussion to be had. But right now, I think you can just go ahead and pencil Blake Trinan in and that back end of the rotation as kind of one of those set up guys for the six, seventh innings. You're going to fit right in here, Katie, because the whole idea of, What are you doing, Dave Roberts?
Starting point is 00:11:05 At some points in the season, that's about half the comments. So that definitely. I'm ready. Yeah, locked in. Locked in for justice early. It's not her spring training anymore. Maybe your internet. But, yeah, we're talking about Trinan.
Starting point is 00:11:19 He's somebody, Alana, we know, has earned a very long leash from this organization. Had mostly Downs last year basically became somebody that they would completely avoid by the time we got to the World Series. How long of a leash do you think BT-49, as nobody calls him, will have with Doc this here, Riz? I mean, I think it all depends on how well the team's doing. I think when the team is doing well and moving forward, the microscope is not necessarily that big on a guy. The magnifying glass is not that big on a guy.
Starting point is 00:11:55 I mean, we saw the leash that was given to Tanner Scott last year. I mean, Dave believes in these guys, right? And he obviously has a lot more information than we do. And I mean, if Trinan was our closer and he's going out there and blowing every other game, then that's a bigger issue. But as a setup man, as Katie had mentioned, I think that the leash is going to be pretty long until it can't be anymore. I think there's enough complementary pieces around Blake Trinon that, you know, he knows he doesn't have to be the ninth inning guy, right? It's like he's like the Kyle Tucker, I think, of the bullpen where he's like, I know I can do this. I've been an all-star.
Starting point is 00:12:31 I've had some really, really good innings, a really good outing, a really good career. But I don't have to be Edwin Diaz. I don't have to be the man. And I feel like that's what Kyle Tucker is. He can do what he does within his own game and doesn't have to be Freddie and Mookie and Shohei and Will and all these other guys. So I think it's a perfect opportunity and a perfect compliment to what I feel is one of our stronger bullpins going into the season in recent memory.
Starting point is 00:12:55 No, absolutely. Yeah. him not needing to be the man, even though we know he can be the man. We've said it time and time again. Dodgers don't win that 2024 World Series without Blake Trinan. But it's getting long in the tooth now. So hopefully, you know, can kind of slow play his way into the season and be a dog one more time before whatever the rest of his career ends. He doesn't have to.
Starting point is 00:13:20 The thing is, though, he doesn't have to be the lead dog. He can just be a dog. He doesn't have to be the lead dog. All right, guys, we talked a ton of pitching. but let's talk about some hitting after the break. More to come on Dodgers territory. But first, a quick word from our friends at Fowl. You may know me as the author of The Fultonar Stars,
Starting point is 00:14:38 and now I guess also as the co-host of The Away End, a brand new world soccer podcast. I'm Daniel Alarcon, a writer and journalist, and John and I have known each other since we were kids. My first World Cup was Mexico 86. I was nine years old. I watched every game, and I fell in love. On our new podcast, The Away End, we'll share with you the magic of international football, all leading up to the 2026 World Cup.
Starting point is 00:15:01 For us, soccer, football, is a story we've shared for over 30 years since Daniel was the star player on our high school soccer team. Very debatable. And I was their most loyal and sometimes only fan. I love this game. I love its history, its hope, its heartbreak, and above all, it's beauty. Together, we'll find out why, of all the unimportant things, football, soccer is the most important. Listen to the away end with Daniel Auerkone and John Green on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. We also want to tell you guys to buy our stuff.
Starting point is 00:15:39 Please check out Dodgers Territory Shop.com. Get yourself a t-shirt. It is T-shirt weather. Get yourself a bag. Maybe not the beanie, but we have hats. Starting point is 00:15:54 It goes towards supporting us here, the people you see on the screen, all that, and people behind the scenes in the Fowel Territory Network. Thank you. And now, Riz, you know, you need to put points on the board to win the game. The Dodgers did kind of enough. They did.
Starting point is 00:16:09 Well, listen, they only needed too. After the lead off home run, basically. They got four of them, though. Four points, as you like to say and piss people off. Four to one is the Dodgers win today in the 12th win of the Cactus League season. And again, it's the top of the order. And, you know, Pearson Watson was actually talking about it on the broadcast today,
Starting point is 00:16:27 that this is kind of what the top, when Shohei gets back from the World Baseball Classic, of course, this is what the top of the order is really going to look like. But you look at it, Katie, and Freddie Freeman, not so much about the results, because they were certainly there today, two for three, right? He looks like he's in a really great, healthy spot overall. I mean, he didn't play in the WBC because they're expecting another child, but he looks like he's ready to go. I mean, if the season were to start tomorrow, FF is ready.
Starting point is 00:16:50 And that's exactly what my takeaway was before leaving camp. Freddie Freeman had such a strict is probably not the right word, but when a guy comes out and says, I'm going to take exactly 47 in vats. You know, he's pretty locked in for what he wants to see this spring. And health is going to be the name of the game for Freddie Freeman. Obviously, he's played through a lot of ailments over the last two years, that he's been able to post the production that he has in spite of that,
Starting point is 00:17:15 says a lot about who he is as a future Hall of Famer. But when you think about what a healthy Freddie Freeman is going to do, do at the top of this lineup. We know it's going to go, Tonny, Tucker, Betts, Freeman, most likely for each game. How are you not excited about that? Especially when you look at the quality of bats from Freddie Freeman and just how comfortable he looks at the plate, his swing, just watching it on TV today, looked effortless. And when you're feeling effortless on March 10th, that is a really, really good spot to be. So I love the production that we're seeing from Freddie. I love that he feels, or looks relaxed at least, looks like he's on a mission, looks healthy. These are all important boxes to check
Starting point is 00:17:50 before March 26, but I think if there's one player that I'm excited to see, I mean, there's so many, don't get me wrong, but what a full offseason of health and resting and coming in with an intentionally slow played off season looks like, I'm really interested to see how that impacts Freddie Freeman and how he jumps out of the gate when regular season play begins. Yeah, you're hearing the ball come off that bat hard. It is loud from Freddie Freeman, and that's when you know, he's feeling good. And, you know, when the three of us were out there, Katie and Lana, we heard Freddie talking, him talking about, I think that was a huge thing, him having health in the offseason, being able to start his swing progression and all that at the right time
Starting point is 00:18:30 and, you know, be reasonably rested, not needing to rehab. That is huge for him. Another guy that's huge for, you're seeing it in the box already in the results. Mookie Betts, Marcus Lynn Betts, I don't know, like maybe I'm, maybe it's too early, but kind of feels like Mookie's back a little bit. Alana, what are you thinking? What do you like it about Mook? Well, he's having a better spring training this year than he was last year, right? I mean, the man didn't have to lose 18 pounds and try to regain his strength while trying
Starting point is 00:18:57 to be a good defensive shortstop and all of the things. And again, talking, listen to the guys on the broadcast today, it's like you were talking about, not only, of course, you know, Mookie bets with the offensive production, two for three, the one K there. But, you know, two hits will take that both singles. But it's also the arm strength. If you were listening to Rick Monday and Tim Nevert talk about the fact that Mooky Betz has more of that power arm, you guys, when talking about the strength that is needed to kind of throw across your body at the shortstop position,
Starting point is 00:19:28 it's awesome. And by the way, Yamamoto is having some sort of impact on everybody because apparently Mooky Betz is now a javelin thrower. So whatever it is that he's doing, whether it's a javelin or a shot put or whatever it is that Yama is doing, the World Series MVP, Mookie has the strength in his body back. He feels very comfortable at short, but he also has that additional arm strength. And they were talking about Muki working with Troy Tulawitsky a couple of seasons ago. When I covered Troy with the Colorado Rockies way back in the day, this was way back when Tula was one of the best short stops in the game. And Mookie has been working with him.
Starting point is 00:20:03 So kind of like that jump throw over, not necessarily Derek Jeter-esque, but just the arm strength that it takes to make the accurate throw and kind of contorting your body and all of the things. Mookie looks great and it seems like the offense is there. He's healthy. He's probably out of his head a lot more now than he was when he was really struggling in the season. He's trying to overcompensate last year for so many things because this guy's a baller, right? He's a competitor. Everything this man does is at the best level possible. So it's got to be really hard when you're that competitive to be struggling.
Starting point is 00:20:35 And you were talking about Freddie Freeman hitting the ball hard. Freddie Freeman was also pretty irked. He said it himself that he didn't have a season in which he finished. finished with a 300 or above batting average. That bothered him. So, you know, good on these guys. I mean, the top of the order, these are the guys that are getting the big bucks, the contracts. These are the guys that you're hoping, you know, drive in the get on base, drive in the
Starting point is 00:20:56 runs, provide the power, move guys station to station. They look really good. And another guy, Katie, that looks good, too, is Andy Paez. His strong spring continues. Yeah, our good pal, Fabin Ardaya, has a good feature about Andy Paez up on the Check it out. Shameless plug. But I think this is a super important because when you look at what Andy Pahas did for the majority of the regular season last year, he was one of the Dodgers' most consistent offensive performers. And then the postseason happened.
Starting point is 00:21:26 It's never a good time to slump. But October certainly is the worst time to do so. And I think the key for Andy Pahas was proven himself as a solid defender, very good in center. I actually think he profiles a little bit better on the corners, but that's neither here nor there. probably one of the most feared ninth hitters in the game that says more about the Dodgers lineup in totality than it does about anything else. If you can get a full season of production from Andy Paez, you have hit Andy Paez's peak. And that's an exciting place to be when you think about where he is in his career, how much more he has to go. I think he had the second most homers for the Dodgers last year
Starting point is 00:22:00 behind Mr. Shoah Otani. So that's always a good place to be as well. But when you're looking at what Andy Paahas can bring, we know what the top of the lineup looks like. We know what the middle of the lineup is going to look like with hopefully revitalized to Oscar Hernandez. Then there's a little bit of a question mark if we're really going to nitpick this lineup, I guess, let's do it. On the production level, the eight and nine hitters, Andy Pahas can solve all of that. He did for the majority of last season. Now it's about making sure he can do it for the entirety of the year.
Starting point is 00:22:28 So for more Andy Pahas, go check out Bobbian's article, very insightful, and gives a good idea as to what Andy is looking at to be able to sustain that production all season long. Hey, we don't do athletic plugs. I'm just kidding. We're going to do athletic plugs. No, yeah, you're good. And I love Fabian's work. Everybody always go check it.
Starting point is 00:22:47 And Katie's work. We got her bylines linked in the description of the video as well. But, Riz, we saw Pahez be very quickly, via a very integral part of this lineup last year before he completely fizzled in the month of October, was taken out of the lineup. I mean, obviously, that all worked. worked out when he was pulled from the lineup.
Starting point is 00:23:08 Miggy Roe inserted Dodgers go and win themselves a World Series. Ho-hum, but I think that's something that fuels Andy Paez in the offseason. He did not like being pulled from that starting lineup in the World Series, heading into game six, heading back to Toronto. You work on your swing. You get better. You talk to people, and you're seeing the. I think you're seeing the results.
Starting point is 00:23:29 I think you're seeing a kid now. One year older, yet another season removed from minor league shoulder surgery, wrecked his labrum back in 2022 or 23, I forget the year. The power is going to be there. And Katie, cannot agree more. If you're looking for an eight-hitter or a nine-hitter that you want in your lineup, it's a Dodger centerfielder who's also pretty good at picking him up, putting him down, and throwing him out in centerfield.
Starting point is 00:23:53 Arguably could be one of the sneakiest best center-fielers in the game when you're talking about power and defensive ability. I love we'll call him the real AP because why not? I guess I'm just stealing Jerry Hirston style right now. For AB, yeah, for Austin Barnes, the real AB. Think about this, though, with Pahas. This is, I think, probably the first year he's going into camp, knowing that he's going to be on the opening day roster, right?
Starting point is 00:24:18 Like, last year, I mean, he was probably, again, still trying to continue with a good defensive center field. Remember when Andy Pahas first came on the scene? And we were like, what route is he running? What is he doing? Like, he had all these circuitous routes. that seems so unnecessary. And he just continued to get better defensively.
Starting point is 00:24:38 And then, yeah, sometimes the offense took a back seat, but he continued to get better defensively in center field, which I think is the hardest outfield position, obviously the most ground to cover. But he has really kind of come into his own offensively as well. So he's probably not looking over his shoulder anymore. He probably knows that barring something bananas, he's going to get a bulk of the playing time in center field,
Starting point is 00:25:01 and he's healthy, right? I mean, we forget that, you know, he's coming into a year in which he has all those opportunities now, whereas last year he's probably constantly looking over his shoulder. So good on him. I remember there were days that I wanted to send them to the moon. I don't want to send him to the moon anymore, you know, but today after Glasnow gave up the home run on the second pitch, I was like, send that guy to the moon too. You know what I mean? It's like we want them to score 10 runs a day. We want them not to give up a single run.
Starting point is 00:25:28 We want them to run every route perfectly because this is, we're nitpicking at this point. You know what I mean? So I look forward to seeing what Andy Pahez can do this year. I think it's only going to be an upward trajectory for him. I'm John Green. You may know me as the author of The Fault and Our Stars. And now, I guess also is the co-host of The Away End, a brand new world soccer podcast.
Starting point is 00:25:51 I'm Daniel Alarcon, a writer and journalist. And John and I have known each other since we were kids. My first World Cup was Mexico 86. I was nine years old. I watched every game and I fell in love. On our new podcast, The Away End, we'll share with you the magic of international football, all leading up to the 2026 World Cup. For us, soccer, football, is a story we've shared for over 30 years since Daniel was the star player on our high school soccer team. Very debatable.
Starting point is 00:26:17 And I was their most loyal and sometimes only fan. I heart and TikTok have come together to create something new.
Starting point is 00:26:47 I love it. Where the world of TikTok meets your playlist. Three words that will change your life. IHeart TikTok Radio. The biggest hits across IHeart Radio. What's trending for you on TikTok? Tell me a sound that's better than this. Plus TikTok's most influential creators all in one place.
Starting point is 00:27:08 Search for IHeart TikTok Radio. Make it a preset and stay connected all day. An ambitious, well-intentioned, ferocious, and wealthy. Mother looks like in the black community. This Woman's History Month, the podcast Keep It Posit Sweetie, celebrates the power of women choosing healing, purpose, and faith, even when life gets messy. Love is not a destination.
Starting point is 00:27:29 You have to work on it every day. Keep It Posit, Sweetie creates space for honest conversations on self-worth, love, growth, and navigating life with grace and grid, led by women who uplift, inspire, and tell the truth out loud. I have several conversations with God, and I know why. It took 20 years. To hear this and more, listen to Keep It Pazas, Sweetie, on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcast, or wherever you get your podcast. Absolutely. A couple more things to talk about before we sign off. Roki Sasaki did not pitch today at, least on the game you saw on TV. He pitched on the backfields at Camelback Ranch,
Starting point is 00:28:08 clearly afraid of Alonarizzo, did not want to be ridiculed by Ray. Okay. Ridicule is a strong term. Okay. I said that I needed to see more positivity, like a little bit more, the body language was telling to me, but he had a good weather. I don't care if it's on the big field, the back field, any of the fields. He had a better outing today in terms of what I saw. Dave Roberts said this. earlier today, guys, to the media. I don't see a world where Roki doesn't break camp with us and is in the rotation. So Dave is very confident that he will be on the opening day roster and he will be a part
Starting point is 00:28:47 of the Dodgers rotation. Four innings, nine strikeouts. I love that, right? Nine strikeouts gave up the one hit, no earned runs, one hit by pitch, much better outing for Rokey. Maybe that's what he needed to work on some things, whatever it is. because he looked good. Now that has to translate to a Cactus League game, and then that in turn needs to translate to the regular season. Katie, you've been the voice of reason on Roki.
Starting point is 00:29:16 Obviously, it's very early in spring training. It's still early in figuring out what his career is going to be like. But you can't help but have that little itch in the back of your neck when you see him struggling in the A games. Does this help you feel a little bit better inward when you're talking, thinking about Roki Sasaki and his progress? So I don't I don't care about results in spring game and spring games. I also really don't care about results in B games, especially with a player of Roki Sasaki's predigree going up against a bunch of white socks teenagers. Like he should be having those results. I guess if we're going to nitpick the box score. What I'm way more concerned about is just where Roki is at mentally and where he feels if he feels healthy, if he feels like he has better command over that arm slot, if the fastball's working, if the fourth ball is working, if the third pitch is working, I don't know. He's He, it's, I don't know what he's calling it. It's like a cutter, slider mix. I'm going to call it a slutter.
Starting point is 00:30:10 Go ahead and trademark that. That is what I am more worried about as we move forward closer and close to opening day. And yes, Dave Roberts said, again, that Roki Sasaki will be in the opening day rotation. I guess, maybe I have the wrong read on this. I didn't understand how that was necessarily news either. I mean, 30 minutes after the Dodgers won the World Series, Andrew Friedman said as much.
Starting point is 00:30:33 literally on the field in Toronto said yeah Sasaki's going to be a starter so this is always going to be the plan I get the concern I get the skepticism I think that's bare and I think that's warranted but I also think there's a time in place for that and that's going to be after the first month of the regular season let's see how he looks in April before we freak out it's much better for players to go through things and work out their kinks and whatever uncomfortable they feel about things
Starting point is 00:31:00 in spring training that's what it's for but I'm still not going to press the panic button over him. I'm still not up or down. We're going to ride the results here. I just care more about how broke he feels mentally and physically and we'll see how he looks when he takes that first start, most likely in that first week of, I don't know, what is it? Late March?
Starting point is 00:31:18 Yeah, late March. Yeah. You know, to have in the same run there, slutter and kinks as an, it's that kind of day for me. So we'll lock away from all of that. Guys, hit that subscribe button. If I had the buttons going to be me, man, man, may, right here. A couple of comments before we sign off.
Starting point is 00:31:37 Diane, our friend Diane, is hanging out in the chat. She got her DT coffee mug. It's very cool. We appreciate the support from Diane. I got one back there. Of course, Katie has her Dodgers territory shirt somewhere. People, Justin wants to see more of the well, the Where's Waldo shirt from yesterday. If you guys missed it, you know, go check it.

Starting point is 00:32:12 Oh, I love that. I love that. As long as the ball is not a stuffed animal, I think we're going to be fine because decoy tore that stuff up. A couple things before we say goodbye, guys, just really quickly. Dave S.A. said that Blake Snell threw off a mound today with the catcher standing. So that's good. Evan Phillips also doing the same thing. off for the Dodgers tomorrow.
Starting point is 00:32:33 Katie Wu, heading to the WBC next week. So keep an eye on all of the stuff that she's riding for the athletic there. We're going to be back Thursday, right? So we have our normal show on Thursday. We appreciate you guys being with us. Of course, by our stuff.
