I'm Clayton Eckerd. In 2022, I was the lead of ABC's The Bachelor.
But here's the thing. Bachelor fans hated him.
If I could press a button and rewind it all I would.
That's when his life took a disturbing turn. A one-night stand would end in a courtroom.
The media is here. This case has gone viral.
The dating contract.
Agree to date me, but I'm also suing you.
This is unlike anything I've ever seen before.
I'm Stephanie Young.

I'm Nancy Glass, host of the Burden of Guilt Season 2 podcast.
This is a story about a horrendous lie that destroyed two families.
Late one night, Bobby Gumpright became the victim of a random crime.
The perpetrator was sentenced to 99 years until a confession changed everything.
I was a monster.

Good people. What's up? What's up? It's Questlove. So recently, I had the incredible opportunity to have a real conversation with an actress and producer, Jamie Lee Curtis, from routines to recovery, true lies, and a certain Jermaine Jackson music video. Jamie's surreal and raw. And it's something I really admire about her.
I am so happy that I'm the head bitch in charge at 67, that I have the perspective that I have at my age to really be able to put all of this into context.
Listen to the Questlove show on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
It's one thing, like, this wasn't even fan interference.
This was like assault and battery.
Yeah, that's a salt.
Look, loki was like, what are you doing?
You can tell he was so pissed, right?
Hello, everybody, and good evening.
Welcome to Dodgers Territory.
Another brand new, fresh live edition of your favorite program.
That is Clint Pesias.
I am Alana Rizzo.
We're going to be with you for this postgame show.
Listen, it wasn't all going to be rainbows and puppy dogs and, you know, cotton candy.
I mean, it's okay that they had a little bit of adversity today.
It is now a three-to-one World Series tally, but that's all right, because I did not
that they were going to get swept. It's okay. Like, you know, heads pets are not falling off.
It's going to be our right. You would hope that they'd win the bullpen game. They've won two of
three prior to coming into this game and now it's two and two. But that's all right. It's
going to be fine. You got Garrett Cole going tomorrow. You got Jack Flaherty going tomorrow.
You seem stressed. What's up, Clint? No, no, I mean, I'm not terribly mad at this game.
I would strongly prefer to have ended it here. I think there were some opportunities. I see EC in the
chats and so annoying. It was a bit of an annoying game. It felt like one of the Dodgers could have won.
If we haven't thrown Dave under the bus in a while for this one, I'm going to say a little bit,
Dave made a lot of the wrong moves. Hudson getting in there, having absolutely nothing in the
tank and leaving him in. It was painfully apparent Daniel Hudson had nothing left in the tank,
but leaving him in there to face Volpe with the base.
is loaded. The game was right there. The game was absolutely right there. I thought it was going to be
Brent Honeywell getting his opportunity to shine for this team a little bit earlier. Honeywell
comes in late. I don't even know if he was expecting to come in this game in the eighth inning.
He goes and shits the bed really hard. But hey, the Yankees live to play on one more day. It's not
the end of the world like you said. But still, is it an opportunity or a possibility that maybe
you have to look at this like, okay, not to say they were conceding the game.
I am not saying that ever again.
I will never say that they were conceding a game ever again.
But, you know, maybe like, maybe this is a situation where it's like, okay, we're up three
games to none.
We know it's a bullpen game.
We're going to do the best that we can.
Maybe we're just going to run some guys out there that don't have it tonight that are gassed.
You got Jack Flaherty on the Hill tomorrow.
Like, I don't know.
I'm just not, I'm not that stressed about it.
I'm really not. I'm okay with it.
I mean, of course, I didn't want to lose, but I'm not, I'm not worried.
I think we both felt pretty similar after, it was a game five in New York against the Mets.
Like, yeah, you want to win that game.
You want them in them all.
You want to win these bullpen games so far.
If we're looking at, you know, storylines for this series for this particular game, you know,
the bats come alive for the Yankees.
And the bullpen game just, it was straight up backfire.
two bullpen games in a row did not work out for the Dodgers even slightly.
Dumb fans are dumb there in New York.
We'll talk about that a little bit, I'm sure.
But, hey, Dodgers in five.
That's what we said.
That's what I said entering this series.
I felt it deep down in my core, but still.
Yeah, but you also said the Dodgers are going to sweep.
So I don't want to hear it.
You say anything and then you're right.
Okay, all of this stuff about J.R. saying Muncie needs to go, bench Lucks,
Jack will throw a dud tomorrow.
You guys stop.
Just stop.
Stop with the negativity.
You guys, they're up three games to one.
You got Jack Clarity going tomorrow.
Even if this goes three to two, even if it does.
And it goes back to Dodger Stadium.
It's going to be okay.
I mean, think about the fact that they already have a three-game advantage in this series.
I'm all right with it.
Okay, so Casperius, I did not think Casperius was going to start.
I thought it was going to be Honeywell.
I was totally wrong.
But there was a lot of traffic for Hudson.
I mean, there's a lot of traffic from three.
He gave up, you know, the four walks, the judge hit by pitch.
That was not his finest outing.
But you know what?
That it's got to be a team affair.
It's not just on Hudson.
Yeah, Casperius, I'm not mad at.
I think he did everything you'd expect out of a guy, out of a rookie,
making his first career major league start in a World Series.
It was a seventh overall major league appearance.
He did his part.
Hudson is where the game was lost.
thousand percent and then you would you would again i i would like to have seen honeywell there i don't
even know that honeywell was fully aware that he was pitching late in the game he's got a he's got
a he's got a little bit like walker bueller yeah it's a world series game but if he doesn't have like
like that's something to get him you know get him going i think you know he kind of went in there
was hoping just to kind of guide his way through three quick outs save some more uh you know
bullets for tomorrow or whatever. But so not there there are some spots that you can do over.
There are spots. That's not how baseball works. I understand that. But if you have an opportunity
to win games like this, I think there really was an opportunity to win a game like this early on.
I just feel like you got to do your best to capitalize. Of course, Freddie Freeman.
That's the thing. That's the thing. I felt like once Freddie took that gave the team the lead with
that two run shot, I was like, oh, here we go again. Like it just felt so.
similar, right? It's like, my goodness, six straight world series games in which this man has hit a
home run, four straight games that he's hit a home run in this particular world series. I mean,
it's just ridiculous. I was like, oh, I guess that's it. You know, like, we've kind of written the script
already. But again, like, I just did not think the Yankees were going to go roll over. I didn't think,
first of all, the fact that they're up three to one to me is huge. Like, I'm okay. I'm, I mean,
let's, yes, would I have loved for them to have swept the Yankees right out of their building? Of course.
but I'm not ready to push that panic button yet.
I'm just not.
No.
It's definitely not a panic moment.
It's not a panic switch moment.
But it is, you know, it's a painful moment.
It's, it happened in 20.
I feel like this happened in 20.
The Kenley Jansen, who's the guy who did the running across the airplane mode thing?
You know, they had that opportunity to win game five.
And then Brett Phillips hits the walk off.
and everything goes wild there.
Our pets were, heads were falling off there.
Hold, I'm going to slow it down a little bit because I'm trying to get, trying to get through this one.
I'm trying to not be crazy.
I'm not trying to buy into the comments because I do understand.
There's a lot of, there's a lot of negative comments.
It's unbelievable.
I'm Nancy Glass, host of the Burden of Guilt Season 2 podcast.
This is a story about a horrendous lie that destroyed two families.
Late one night.
Bobby Gumpright became the victim of a random crime.
He pulls the gun.
Tells me to lie down on the ground.
He identified Termaine Hudson as the perpetrator.
Germaine was sentenced to 99 years.
I'm like, Lord, this can't be real.
I thought it was a mistaken identity.
The best lie is partial truth.
For 22 years, only two people knew the truth.
until a confession changed everything.
I was a monster.
Listen to Burden of Guilt Season 2 on the IHeart Radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Why hasn't a woman formally participated in a Formula One race weekend in over a decade?
Think about how many skills they have to develop at such a young age.
What can we learn from all of the new F1 romance novels suddenly popping up every year?
still smelled of podium champagne and expensive friction.
And how did a 2023 event called Wag Agetten change the paddock forever?
That day is just seared into my memory.
I'm culture writer and F1 expert Lily Herman, and these are just a few of the questions I'm tackling on no grip,
a Formula One culture podcast that dives into the under-explored pockets of the sport.
In each episode, a different guest and I will go deeper into the wacky mishaps, scandals, and sagas,
both on the track and far away from it
that have made F1 a delightful,
decadent dumpster fire for more than 75 years.
Listen to no grip on the IHeart Radio app,
Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Good people, what's up, what's up?
It's Questlove.
So recently I had the incredible opportunity
to have a real conversation
with actors and producer, Jamie Lee Curtis,
ahead of the release of her new thriller series,
Scarpetta.
I can honestly say I've never done an interview like that before.
At one point, I shut my laptop down.
And we just started chatting as old friends, recent Oscar recipient.
So we have some commonality there.
I predicted that, by the way.
And you said these words to me, dust off your mantle.
Yes.
And I looked at you and I said, what?
And you said, dust off your mantle.
And then I left and that was it.
And then when all of that happened, I remember.
the next morning.
I think I wanted to, like, write you and go,
how did you know?
Listen to the Questlove show on the Iheart radio app, Apple Podcasts,
or wherever you get your podcasts.
And listen, I appreciate the passion of Dodgers fans.
This is why I do love doing this stuff here on the internet,
because some of these people are some of the smarter Dodger fans out there,
and some are like, you know what,
there is a lot of really dumb, stupid missed opportunities.
and some are like those idiots down the right field line who tried to rip a baseball out of Mookie Bet's hands.
How stupid was that?
Can we dive into that for a second?
You know, yes, we can dive into that.
We can dive into as much as you want, my, my co-host and my friend and my pal and my buddy.
What the heck are these people doing?
Like, it's one thing, like, this wasn't even fan interference.
This was like assault and battery.
Yeah, that's assault.
Mooky was like, what are you doing?
You could tell he was so pissed, right?
It's like, not only did they just like try it.
It wasn't as if they were just trying to get the ball out of.
of his glove.
And look at this full trying to, you know,
you know, justify it.
This guy was like grabbing the glove,
trying to open the webbing of the glove.
The other full grabbing his wrist.
Are you at?
So, okay, so these idiots pay, what,
$1,000 to get in that seat,
let's just assume.
And now they won't get into Yankee Stadium,
hopefully, or any other major league baseball park ever again.
And they shouldn't ever be allowed into a stadium ever again.
Yeah, no, that was,
that was very fucking,
to watch. Seeing a lot of people the way they reacted to it, some Yankees fans being like,
yeah, you know, you're doing a great job. No, that guy is a moron. He looks like the lowest kind of
common denominator you can get out there just in terms of, you know, his ability to display intelligence.
I'm sure he had plenty of Modello before the game or whatever. You know, Modello's full.
No, not Modell. That's for LA. That's for classy people. Whatever they drink in Modelo in New York.
But my God, could that guy have looked anymore in New York? Oh, yeah, I'm just a student.
the ball for Mookie. Look at me. I'm here.
Dumbass. Anyway.
Anyway, people...
Yeah, Mookie was none too pleased
about that situation. And he shouldn't
be, but that's fine. All right. So we're going to move on to that. Let's talk about
the fact that... Hold on. Wait. Can we talk first for a second
about how Munchy, you said Mookie, but I want to talk about Munchy
because we got a super chat here about Munchy.
Kind of a non-factor in the series as well.
Automatic K right now. Muntsey, O for 12 in this series.
two walks. We were hoping, I was hoping for a little bit more out of Max in this series,
maybe, you know, getting on base. There's still more time. There's still at least one more game.
But is there a DT curse after we had Kelly on?
No, no, no, no, no. Listen, not everyone's going to be firing on all cylinders one through nine.
Yes, I think, you know, you know, Muncie sometimes is feast or famine. I mean, this is a guy that
can be a strikeout guy or a home run guy, but he also is a guy that tends to get on base.
I mean, his OBP is still decent, even if he's not.
not, you know, even if he's not getting singles or whatever, getting base hits.
Skanks were ready to roll.
Geez, hi, Richard Flores.
MLB should be embarrassed for the quality of played umpiring, sloppy game.
Dodgers played like they had a three to nothing lead if the Dodger Stadium parking lot.
You guys need to get that on shirts if you haven't already.
We're working towards it.
Yeah, I, you know, again, this wasn't the most cleanly played game.
It wasn't the most effective game.
It wasn't the, you know, but you guys, like, I don't know.
I'm just not concerned about it.
I'm just, I'm not, I'm not that stressed about it.
Yes, do you want a perfect game?
Of course.
Did you want Landon Nack?
I mean, by the way, can we give Landon Nack?
I mean, like, some flowers.
He did decent job.
Yeah, Lando absolutely very much the complete opposite of what we saw in his game two of the NLCS,
where he was the Dan Hudson of that game.
But NAC did a great job to reset this, you know, or at least not burn the bullpen completely.
I think he could have gone for the fifth inning.
And that's where I have some frustrations about the use of Honeywell there because now you're relying on a gem or a deep outing from Jack Flaherty tomorrow.
And that kind of has been a struggle.
It's been a little bit of a bugaboo for Jack Flaherty this postseason pitching on regular rest.
We'll talk more about tomorrow's game in a little bit.
But you were talking about Shohei Otani.
Shohei, he looks really, really compromised.
Did get a single, but that swing isn't right.
He's not even running at full capacity.
I have seen some on the Internet asking the question just aren't out there.
Is there a world where maybe it's a better idea to have Shoah on the bench?
See, I thought that today.
I really did.
I was like, okay, you know, you take a three to nothing lead in the series.
Perhaps you sit show hey today.
But then you're like, okay, just having Shohei in the lineup against a rookie pitcher by the name of Luis
Heel, like he's still a presence in your lineup.
But it's obvious that show hey is compromised.
It's obvious that he's hurting.
It's obvious that he's like holding up, you know, the jersey so his shoulder doesn't
rattle when he runs.
You know, it's tough.
It's tough to replace him in the lineup.
But I would imagine in his head he's afraid to swing because he's just anticipating the pain that the swing is going to cause.
So yes, maybe that's a liability at this point.
It depends on what happens tomorrow.
You know, I don't know where I don't know where they go from here.
If the Yankees come out and shove tomorrow and it goes back to Los Angeles for game six, I don't know.
You can tell, though, that he's hurting.
I mean, it's visible.
It's obvious that he's hurting.
I mean, he is 12 for 15 in the World Series, and of course, the injury is partially to blame for that.
Yeah, I think it's a lot to blame for that.
Also, his first time here on this biggest stage, he's been on these big world stages before.
But that injury, it's definitely, it needs to be a conversation the team is having.
I still think a, you know, reduce Shoha Tani is better in the lineup.
I think it makes the lineup a little bit better.
He still induces that fear.
to the Yankees, but if he can't extend and he can't really get to that pitch high in the zone
because it hurts his shoulder, that's going to be a problem. But it's not just Otani. You need
more out of the bottom of the lineup. This has been a very, very homer, reliant series for the Dodgers.
And that's where the rest of this postseason has been so much better for the Dodgers because
they've been manufacturing. They've been scraping together, scratching, clawing to get some runs. And this
one, it's almost all Homer. Thank you, Freddie Freeman, of course, but it's almost all home run
reliant. And that's, that's a problem when guys like, you know, Edmund are going. We got the,
numbers here. You know, Edmund's going one or over one, but he's getting his walks, but still,
not much from Lux, nothing from Kiki tonight, nothing from Max Muncie, has already talked about.
A bunch of one for us at the top there. Yeah, I mean, showy Otony, two for 15 is not going to get it done.
I mean, that's just not going to happen.
But we talked about it the other day.
We've asked a lot of our guests, you know,
Juan Toribio and other guests too,
like who was going to be the X factor for the Yankees,
much like Tommy Edmund had been the X factor for the Los Angeles Dodgers.
And tonight it was.
It was Anthony Volpe.
I mean, you just saw that.
Like I thought that that was like good comparison between Tommy Edvin and Anthony Volpe.
I mean, this is a kid, obviously.
Everybody knows that we've talked about it at Nauseum,
about how he's a Yankee fan.
He was in the parade, you know, in the crowd.
for the parade for 2009 World Series win and he comes up massively huge tonight.
You know, Grand Slam.
So, you know, again, like, I just, this is not the Savannah Bananas.
Like, you don't expect this team to just roll over.
Like, you know, I'm not surprised that they won a game.
Like, I just don't think we need to be that freaked out about it.
Yeah, I'm not freaked out, but you did give them an opportunity to wake up.
You gave the Yankees an opportunity to wake up.
And history remains on the Dodgers side in this scenario.
They enter today with a 3-0 series lead.
They'll enter tomorrow with a 3-1 series lead.
You still have to feel good about winning one more game,
whether it be tomorrow, whether it be on Friday night in Los Angeles,
where, yeah, as nice as that is,
you'd rather have the series end in New York.
But there's a lot of niceties.
There's a lot of cool options or situations that happen.
if the series does come back to L.A.
Still, I would rather not see the series come back to L.A.
because that just means the Yankees continue to be awake or waken up with those bats.
And that's something with the state of the Dodger lineup right now.
I don't know that they can outslug this Yankees lineup if they're going on all cylinders.
Just because we're missing some pieces.
I think they can.
I think it's fine.
Like, you know, I still don't think Aaron Judge is where he needs to be.
Juan Soto is, you know, okay.
And Juan Soto, to me, is a liability defensively.
You know.

I'm not, I just am not concerned. I think again, like every day it all falls on the day's starting
pitcher, right? So you got to assume that Garrett Cole's probably going to be the ace of the staff
that he always has been. But I don't doubt that Jack Flaherty can do a, you know, a really good,
enough to get the Dodgers where they need to be like, you heard Dave Roberts talk about it
yesterday in his post game press conference, or maybe it was this morning, whatever. He's like,
we're just not, you know, we will not allow, and I'm paraphrasing obviously, but there's no
way that we're not going to allow a parade to be in our city.
Like we're not going to let up.
They want this.
Like, it's not, I'm, listen, if the Dodgers lose four straight games to the New York
Yankees and they lose the World Series, I'll shave my head.
Oh, no.
Somebody clip that.
Seriously.
Like, I will shave my head.
Like, I don't, I mean, there's no way in the world the Dodgers are losing the World
Series.
There's just not.
I agree.
I appreciate.
But still, it's a bold statement.
And we know how all of the...
I have a lot of hair.
I have a lot of hair.
A lot of hair.
And I will shave it.
I will shave it.
And Dodgers lose the World Series.
Let's pin it for a second.
We're going to talk about game five and how the Dodgers can win game five.
But first, Alana, why don't you tell these fine people about Mutt Dog?
Oh, I'm happy to tell you about the Mutt Dog.
Thanks so much for the Mutt Dog for being a partner of ours here on Dodgers territory.
I tell you what, it's New York City versus L.A.,
but there's also two ways to give back.
you guys the World Series season support animals and need no matter where your heart lies visit the muddog.com and choose from two special collections and this is how you can kind of define your loyalty the muddy paws drop so every purchase from this collection benefits muddy paws rescue in new york city obviously for the yankees show your love for the east coast but for the la fans the core collection proceeds from every core collection item go directly to my foundation gidreys guardian foundation in la so support the west coast
best whether you pick up the muddy paws drop or the core collection all purchases help save lives
so which city are you backing this season obviously i would appreciate everybody checking out that
core collection to benefit giddry's guardian but you know what when it comes to saving dogs i'm
fine if you want to do the muddy paws drop too and benefit new york city too for the dogs in need there so
thanks for muddy paws for being a part of the show today absolutely um so you put a bold statement out
there.
Shave your head if the Dodgers do not win this world series.
I don't know if you saw, we, producer Sarah and I were talking about it before,
whether or not we should throw a full screen on it.
But our friend, the real Bob Nightingale tweeting last night,
Dodgers should be getting their champagne on ice.
Those are just some of the worst things you see in these situations.
Like I've tried to tame down the potential hubris,
but I know the baseball guy.
hate that kind of shit. They really do. You love the word hubris. You've said four times today
between our pregame show. You're getting nervous. Don't be nervous. It's going to be fine.
It's fine. It's fine. It's fine. It's fine. No, it's, yeah, I don't know why Bob does that stuff,
but that's kind of his thing. I don't, you know, I still, I still think the Dodgers are going
to be okay from Swell and Sossage. Hello, Alana and Clint from the Eastern Sea. Well, hello there,
buddy. Thanks for being a part of the show.
Appreciate you. What gives you the most, what gives you the most stress right now?
You seem to stress. I don't know. There's a lot of buttons to push. That's, that's stressful.
But Flaherty, Flaherty in this, in this postseason so far has struggled in that second game or that next game in a series.
Yeah, it's kind of every other one for him, right? Yeah, and that's been a problem.
Like he opened the postseason with, I think he allowed four runs. And
And he had that absolute gem, seven scoreless.
Then it was eight runs over third.
And they're like, oh, he was so sick.
And then it turns out, oh, no, like mechanically, he was wrong.
That's what I worry about.
I worry about the mechanically.
I worry about something just being off with him.
And then Cole, I mean, it's the same thing.
Cole's going on regular rest, which these days feels like short rest in, you know,
2024.
You hope as much as you know, you're worried about the Yankees getting to Flaherty,
you really hope the Yankees are worried about, you know, the Dodgers getting to Cole in that spot.
The Yankees have their backs against the wall.
I understand that they have a little bit of life.
I understand that Garrett Cole is going tomorrow and that's definitely who they want on the mound for them.
But the Yankees are not going to win three games in a row.
like there's just no way in the world that the daughters are going to allow that to happen they're not like
I agree but now little faith like don't worry like even again even if it goes back to dodgers stadium
and it's game six on friday which happens to be as you mentioned Fernando valenzuela's 64th birthday
maybe the dodgers win in game six six to four you hope you feel you feel as as good as you can
uh the dodgers have a big time series advantage for sure but still
Stranger things have happened in baseball.
And as Vince Scully once told us in the history of the Dodgers, nothing has ever come easy.
So that's what I worry about.
That is 100% what I worry about is somehow, some way the Yankees finding a way back into the series because their bats get going.
But Choi Young in the chat says, we're winning tomorrow.
And now I feel good.
I feel like we're in a good spot.
And let Freddie Freeman.
If Troy tells you that, you're fine.
but if you're a partner for 71 episodes tells you that, you're like, meh?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
No.
All right.
That's fine.
Listen, it's not you.
It's me.
Oh, for sure.
That I know.
But listen, again, we're in a good spot.
And that's the last bullpen game we're seeing.
That's an important thing I'll leave everybody here with.
That's the last bullpen game we see.
Tomorrow, Flarity, after that, Yamamoto.
If you need to go to a game seven, you got Walker F and Bueller.
Dodgers are in a very, very good spot.
But the Yankees got this far for a reason.
So that's where you do, you know, do have some worry.
But Dodgers and five, that's what I said entering the series.
And that's what I will hang my head on, hat on when we sign off here.
All right.
Very good.
Don't stress Dodgers Nation.
Everything is going to be fine.
I appreciate the fact that everyone wanted to sweep.
I get it.
I did too, but it's not going to happen.
That's all right.
We'll figure it out tomorrow.
Thanks for being with us on Dodgers territory.
Clint needs to take a breath or something.

Okay, bye.

So recently, I had the incredible opportunity
to have a real conversation with an actress and producer, Jamie Lee Curtis, from routines
to recovery, true lies, and a certain Jermaine Jackson music video. Jamie's real and raw, and something
I really admire about her. I am so happy that I'm the head bitch in charge,
at 67, that I have the perspective that I have at my age, to really be able to put all of this into context.
