Starting point is 00:00:30 Hi, I'm Michael Imperioli. I want to tell you about my new podcast, Underground Zero. We're looking at the opportunity of a lifetime for us and the other families. It's about the aftermath of the 9-11 attacks. What's in the tunnels? Gold bars, Silver Ingech. It could be worth half a billion. Starring Steve Sharipa, Ray Abruzzo, and me, Michael Imperioly.
Starting point is 00:00:50 How far you're prepared to go? Depends how far you are. Listen to Underground Zero on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. Hey, it's Alec Baldwin. This season on my podcast, Here's the Thing, I talk to actor Stephen Root. I'm a people watcher. You see that guy going down to the d'ringo. Yeah, I can use that.
Starting point is 00:01:10 And Open Igloo co-founder, Alia Mohamed. I love staying on top of what is going on in our city, what is on renter's minds, and taking all of that knowledge to build a platform that hopefully is going to make New York City better in the long run. Listen to Here's the Thing on the IHeart Radio app Apple Podcasts, or, wherever you get your podcasts. And they decided that it should be DePaula, and this is not a knock on his performance by any means. It all
Starting point is 00:01:38 comes down to timing. Everybody and welcome to a live, brand new episode of Dodgers Territory. Clint Passius, Katie Wu, Alana Rizzo with you guys. Thanks for being here. Get your info in the chat. We'd love to hear how you're doing today. What are you thinking about? What is on your mind? All right, Dodgers and Padres.
Starting point is 00:02:07 We're presented by Fox 1. This is on deck by Fox 1. The series continues tonight, but at this point, it's like, who cares, right? It's the final matchup between these two teams before potentially meeting in the postseason. But if you want baseball this October, Fox 1 has you covered more on that in a minute. The bigger question or the bigger topic, I guess, Katie, we'll start with you on this because you have a great column about it out. Jose, Jose de Paola is out, option to AAA because Shohei Otani is back. But that doesn't mean that DePaula has a.
Starting point is 00:02:44 been determined not to be on the postseason rosters. Tell me more. Yeah, this came back to timing. We talked to Dave Roberts and Andrew Friedman yesterday about this decision. We knew the daughters were going to have to make a corresponding move to bring Otani back from the IL. And they decided that it should be DePaula, and this is not a knock on his performance by any means. It all comes down to timing. When you option a player, it does not reset after the regular season. If you option a position player, he has to remain down for 10 days before he's eligible for any postseason series. So that calendar or that time frame does not reset just because the regular season ends.
Starting point is 00:03:23 The Dodgers very firmly are going to have, excuse me, Oswey Zapala, in their consideration for the NLDS roster, assuming they clinch the buy, which with, you know, one win in the next four games, you would assume that's going to be the case. And by optioning him yesterday, it gives him exactly 10 days before October 3rd, which is the scheduled start of the National League Division Series. Again, Dodgers not too concerned about a wildcard series because they don't really think that they're going to be playing that. Now, we can get into this, and I'm sure we will.
Starting point is 00:03:55 On if DePaula was needed to be optioned in the first place, but the timing here is everything. This is not an indictment on Jose. He's been an absolute baller since coming up from AA. He's taken some of the bested bats throughout the entire lineup. But Showy Otani, obviously going to retake that DH role. It comes down to getting him consistent at bat, so he's going to go down to AAA playing their championship series. And if they win that, there's one more AAA championship series that he could play in to get him through the weekend.
Starting point is 00:04:24 And then the Dodge will make a decision. Dalton rushing status factors in here, too, a lot of moving parts here. But ultimately, just because the Dodgers optioned DePaul yesterday does not mean that he won't be on the DS roster. He's very much in play for that. Yeah, a lot of people upset yesterday. Rightfully so. when you have players like with all due respect, Alex Freeland on the active roster, ad he's had a very good month of September.
Starting point is 00:04:48 You also got Alex Call, who basically is a non-factor when it comes to the postseason. People are upset to see Hostway, JDP, the notorious JDP, not on this roster right now. Katie, is this a situation where the Dodgers are trying too hard to be the smartest people in the room? Or maybe they are the smartest people in the room, as they have proven more often than not? I mean, you can definitely make the argument that there were other players that could have been an option. You think Alex Freeland, and then I've seen some people call for Alex Call, but Calls been on his roster all season long for a reason. And I think I don't fault the Dodgers for trying to keep as many options open as possible. And they're going to need to option somebody
Starting point is 00:05:30 else for Dalton rushing who should be back no later than Friday. That is the plan, at least. Dodger are going to give him three days to try to prove himself as that competition for the left-headed the bench bat for the postseason comes down between rushing and DePaula. But whoever is optioned to activate Dalton won't be eligible like we just discussed for the DS. The earliest they'd be able to be back would be the NLCS. So a lot of moving parts here, you could kept him on the bench, sure. And we talked about that with Andrew Freeman yesterday. But then it just came down to a quality of their not being enough at-bats for everyone.
Starting point is 00:06:03 Again, it's not just about getting guys in and getting guys out and splitting up the ad-bats, These are guys that need to get their timing right. Dave Roberts isn't going to pinch it for Andy Paz. He needs every a bat he can get. Showy Otani every abat that he can get. And these guys want to get their at bats. They want to get their timing right heading into October. So it's not like there are going to be a lot of pinch hit opportunities.
Starting point is 00:06:24 He also has guys like Miggie Roe, Kike Hernandez to work in off the bench. Those are your bench players. Those are the guys that you want in a pinch hit situation, your high stakes environment. Kike Hernandez, Miguel Rojas, have proven themselves to be postseason players. So all these next games, really over the last, dating back to Tuesday until the end of the season, are postseason auditions. They are dressed rehearsals, if you will. So I can understand what the organization is saying of there not being a lot of Bats for Jose. His biggest trait, what's really going to put him on this roster, if that's a decision they decide to make, is this play discipline, it's his ability to get on base.
Starting point is 00:07:01 When you don't play for a week, that gets rusty real quick. So I understand both sides, but I'll lean towards the Dodgers in this direction. The biggest thing for me is that he'll still be eligible for the DS. And as we've talked about, guys, that's going to be the case. Katie, I feel like the whole Dalton rushing situation has been of a bit of a ping pong table, like kind of following the ball going back and forth. Explain to me like I am five. What is happening with him?
Starting point is 00:07:27 So that's kind of exactly what I said to another person in the Dodgers. Because I wasn't understanding originally why DePaula would be sent down. And you think about what Dalton Rushing has done for the squad. He fills in for Will Smith, for dating back to the beginning of June. He goes through a bunch of trials. He's in the spotlight a lot sometimes because of his own doing, sometimes not. And then he goes and he plays hurt. He tries to come back and do whatever he can to get past this UCL tear,
Starting point is 00:07:55 even if it means not catching. We try to do both. And I think the organization feels they owe it to Dalton to give him a shot. And I know three days if he is, in fact, activated on Friday isn't that much of a timeline. And Dave Roberts has said it's so. It's going to be tough for Dalton to really prove anything or find his footing here. You see this quote from Dave Roberts early in the week. It's going to be tougher for Dalton, given the time that he's missed to kind of think that you only have three games to get back
Starting point is 00:08:20 and playoff for him. But rushing deserves the opportunity. And the organization is right to give him as many games possible while healthy to try and prove, hey, I can be this lefty bat off the bench as well. And you never know, guys, you can reset the postseason roster, as we know, after every series. Looking at the DS risk right now, though, they're going to take one lefty bat off the bench. It's going to be between DePaula and rushing. I don't fault, again, the Dodgers for St. Dalton, you've done everything that we've asked you to do and more for this organization this year. Why not give him three games to just kind of see where a swing is at? That, to me, is the right thing to do. You always want to do right for the player.
Starting point is 00:08:56 Again, the rushing thing feels very forced. Either way, you have two players that I guess evaluators would estimate are unplayable in the field. At least JDP, you know you can throw in the outfield. He can throw a baseball right now. Dalt rushing is literally just a bat. So this feels forced. I understand the sentiment of like, yeah, he's been a top prospect for this organization. He's had a really good year before he got injured.
Starting point is 00:09:25 But at this point, the amount of games he's played over the last two months, When you have a guy in DePaula who has been just a spark plug, he's been everything we wanted, everything we hoped he would be for this ball club to take that away right now. And okay, send him to AAA. He's playing in the playoffs upwards of five games. He's not going to magically become an exceptional defender at AAA in those few games. But hey, he's out there. He's moving. He's keeping the arm loose.
Starting point is 00:09:53 He wasn't going to get at Bats with Shohei Otani return. We're returning. we are going to talk more show hay in a little bit. But again, this just feels like a lot of extra work. This is, this is, you know, teacher just dismissed the class and the nerd in the back said, but you forgot to give us homework. What are we doing here? It feels just, Riz, this feels way too try hard for me.
Starting point is 00:10:15 But I think I was that kid. I think I was the kid in the front of the class, actually, that asked for the homework. That's me. I think you and I would have been very different as classmates. as far as that is concerned. Yeah, it's a weird situation. But again, you know, we'll see how it plays out. They don't have to set their postseason roster until what, like, what is it, like 4 o'clock the day before or whatever it is.
Starting point is 00:10:38 Right now is it day of? So, yeah, I mean, until basically the last second. So hopefully they can have it figured out by then. And hopefully get that first round by like the Brewers did. All right. So M.LB on Fox is streaming on Fox 1, the race to October. It starts now. This is the last weekend, guys.

Hi, it's Alec Baldwin this season on my podcast. Here's the thing I'm speaking with more artists, policymakers, and performers like actors. Stephen Root. I think for me to be any good
Starting point is 00:12:00 or for any character act to be any good, you've got to put enough of yourself and your empathy for people in it. I'm a people watcher. You see that guy going down the screen and go, yeah, I can use that. Open Igloo co-founder, Alia Muhammad. I love staying on top of what is going on in our city,
Starting point is 00:12:18 what is going on in city politics, what is on renter's minds, and taking all of that knowledge to build a platform that hopefully is going to make New York City better in the long run. And actress and singer Melissa Eriko. Partnership took on a whole other meaning when I started making my own work.
Starting point is 00:12:36 It's like you with a great actress or actor. It was best to come out of your trailer, full of life, and just face another person who's full of life and don't talk. Listen to Here's the Thing on the IHeart Radio app Apple Podcasts or wherever you get your podcasts. You're good, Tommy.
Starting point is 00:12:54 I don't give a shit you feel good. my f*** heads up there. A belated, happy birthday, of course, to the dearly
Starting point is 00:13:04 departed Tommy Lassardo. We still love Tommy. But, yeah, listen, this is kind of a hodgepodge
Starting point is 00:13:11 segment here. A lot of little things, a lot of little check boxes for this club to still figure out over these next
Starting point is 00:13:16 four games. Like you said on top of the show there, Lonnie. You got one more against the Padres. Padres trying to
Starting point is 00:13:21 figure out where they're going to be at in the playoff seating. Dodgers know they are in the playoffs. They know
Starting point is 00:13:27 there are divisions winners. Katie and I were talking in our production meeting earlier about like, yeah, maybe they're still trying to fight for that number one seat. I don't care. I don't want it. I don't think they care at this point. It's about staying healthy. What, the one seed, I think, plays like Padre, winners of Padres Cubs right now. That those, that end of the five game series sounds gross to me. I don't want to see that. Anybody else? Thoughts, opinions? I don't want, I do not want a five game series against the Padres ever again for the history. of time in my lifetime. I don't want it by game series.
Starting point is 00:14:01 It gets me in trouble for sure. So I don't ever want that scenario to play out in any universe. So that's how I feel about that. Katie, I don't know how you feel about it. I am done trying to predict where everyone's going to be. I'm with you, Clint. I don't really think they care about the first, the number one seed.
Starting point is 00:14:18 They care about the buy. And it's impossible to try to predict who we're going to match up with or who they're going to play because everyone is the exact same in that National League Wildcard picture. I have four hotels, books for four different cities. We'll figure it out. But, yeah, I don't know. It's one day at a time.
Starting point is 00:14:35 It could be worse. It could be the AOS, which is just tragic. Nobody wants to win that division. And not only that, but no one wants to win the division. I'll let you continue in a moment. My dear, sorry. But how can you get into the postseason with a losing record? No, you're going to set me on another tangent.
Starting point is 00:14:51 We're going to be overtime. It is not something I believe in. It is nothing I believe in. That is a common. We'll wait for the offseason when I can be grumpy about baseball. Yeah, I mean, there's a lot going on. I know we have a rapid fire of Dodgers updates here. But like we talked about, this is going to be a postseason trial run for a lot of these guys.
Starting point is 00:15:10 Roki on Tuesday, the Bullpen game, that Tuesday bullpen game was really interesting because I think Dave Roberts was like, I'm going to see as many arms as possible. And you're playing for something here. You're pitching for something. And seeing Roki and Edwin Diaz go back to back. I mean, this is something where Roki said, I think the Dodgers originally planned to have him. come out of the rotation.
Starting point is 00:15:28 But he said, you know, I want to get familiar with coming out of the bullpen because that's going to be my role. And he looks pretty good. He looks solid there. He's someone where if it's a high leverage inning in the seventh or eighth, I would love to see Roki Sasaki come out, especially with the stuff playing up as it tends to do in relief outings. Dare I say, I'm almost back on Edwin Diaz. I know I was really out on him 10 days ago, but let's not talk about that. He has looked really good in three sample sizes. I'm a little weird.
Starting point is 00:15:55 I like to see three starts from starting pitchers. or five relief outings from relievers before I make a definitive statement. But just talking to Edwin Diaz, he's always confident. He's always smiling, always just approachable and trying to look at the brighter side. But it's a different level of confidence where he's just not like, oh, yeah, I hope it works out. I feel good about it. He's like, I know this is going to work out. I do feel good about this for different reasons.
Starting point is 00:16:19 And if the Dodgers can get their version of what they thought Ewan Diaz was going to be when they signed him, I know what Dave Roberts has said. He would prefer in a perfect world a closer. He's not going to go out and say the name, but everyone involved with the Dodgers, I think, in a perfect world would like Edwin Diaz as their ninth guy. If he's right, three sample sizes have shown he's trending in the right direction. Yeah, Alana, this is a guy.
Starting point is 00:16:43 You very much wanted this team to sign. You are somebody who's a firm believer in a closer. The fact of this is your closer, you are anointed, sword across the shoulders. a guy in the ninth inning in October. We've seen the Dodgers win with and without that. I guess more so without that without having that guy, 2020. Obviously, Dave took the ball from Kenley, didn't give it back.
Starting point is 00:17:06 But have you seen enough, Riz, to kind of say like, all right, you're earning some leverage spots again? I do believe what Katie is saying to be true in that I feel like he's very convicted, right? I feel like he has really good stuff. And I feel like between the ears is just as effective as what he's. you know, doing physically and mechanically and location-wise and stuff and all of that. So I do feel much more confident in him than I did when he came off of the IL, obviously, or when he came off of his rehab assignments and those types of things when he was pitching poorly in the minor leagues.
Starting point is 00:17:41 But yeah, I do feel like if he is on and he is the Edwin Diaz that you wanted coming into the season, that I thought was the biggest get for the Dodgers, then I feel much more confident in having him as the closer and then moving backwards so Dave can set up his bullpen the way that he wants to set it up. So do I want a de facto closure? Yes, if you're effective. If he's not effective, then I guess it's going to have to be the, you know, the revolving door, the carousel of relief arms to get the job done. And that makes it a lot more difficult, in my opinion.
Starting point is 00:18:10 And Dave's done it before. We know that. He's the longer he's gotten in this job, the longer his tenure is as the Dodgers manager, the better he has gotten at managing a bullpen. You know, I still don't think there's anybody. in the world that is as good as managing a bullpen as Bruce Bochie was when Boch managed, but Dave is getting there. And I do think that Edwin Diaz looks really good from the small sample
Starting point is 00:18:36 size that we have seen. I agree with Katie also that a couple more outings of good stuff would be even more comforting to see. Yeah, about you. He's checked the boxes. I mean, we've seen the back to back. We've seen the strikeout. The walks are limited.
Starting point is 00:18:52 he's somebody who's going to walk his batters. He's going to hit some or give up some hits. That is what he does. It feels like the good closers usually give up some base runners. But yeah, he's training in the right direction. If you do have somebody, or I should say he is showing enough work right now in this short period of time that he had to work with. He's showing enough. He's showing that, I mean, last night, Blake Trinan pitched his way off of any sort of, out of any sort of postseason consideration.
Starting point is 00:19:19 So there is a very clear open spot for some. somebody like Edwin Diaz. And if he is good, if he can lock down that ninth inning, all of a sudden, like you're mentioning there, everybody moves down. You get Tanner Scott in a fireman role. Alex Vescia could pitch earlier in a game if you need to. And of course, with this insane starting rotation, they're going to go out there and cover seven innings, eight innings, no problem.
Starting point is 00:19:41 So there's barely going to be any work for this Dodgers post, a bullpen in the postseason. But they're looking really good. The lineup is looking really good because, guys, Shohayotani returned last night. We talked, we obviously talked about the JDP component of it. We got to talk about the Otani component of it. We also got to talk in a second about the leadoff shift with him and Mookie. But, Katie, you were at the ballpark last night watching show do his work. What did you think?
Starting point is 00:20:09 I thought he looked better. And I'm not talking about both the overall quality of the bats and just his physical demeanor in the box. He didn't look like he was in pain or compromised in any way. And I know the box score was. results aren't going to reflect that. But you look at the quality of the bats, his approach. It looked more Shohei-like just a couple feet away from a homer yesterday.
Starting point is 00:20:30 Off the bat, it sounded like a Sho-hay bomb, though. So these are all training in the right directions. Again, he hasn't played in two weeks. He hasn't played healthy in over a month. So it's not like he's going to come right back into form and get right back to show-hay stuff. But I'm encouraged by what we saw in a very, very small sample size. Dave Robert said Otani is probably going to be in there for the next four games,
Starting point is 00:20:50 maybe I doubt he's going to have a day off. Just because all these teams matter in appellating your timing and your approach, getting feel for major league pitching again, it's a short runway. And the Dodgers, you know, we've talked about the fact that the biggest thing for them was making sure Otani wouldn't be compromised
Starting point is 00:21:07 heading into the season. Andrew Freeman said it, you know, no one's 100% this time of year. That's a different level of degree for Otani where he certainly could not be played in the postseason looking like he did at the end of August, early September. But right now, just based off the one game. I feel much better about where show he's at. Seems like the two weeks of
Starting point is 00:21:26 recovery did him well. And we'll go from there. But it's an encouraging sign because clearly Dodgers are going to need Shai Otani, whether he's hitting or leading off or hitting second to jumpstart their offense, which has looked really good this month of September. Yeah, anytime you can get Shohay back in the lineup. You just feel better about it. This is the guy who's now a two-time World Series champion. Is not going to be the MVP this. year but he is an MVP and um you know there are a lot of people i feel uh like online are taking people it feels like some people are mad that that show hey is in there over to paula it's always going to be show hey otani he deserves to be in that lineup and katie like you're
Starting point is 00:22:09 saying a rested and recovered show hey otani is going to help this team win a third world series in a row uh he just missed one last night just missed the bomb and and uh you know i think think tonight is the night we see a show bomb we see a dinger and looking with our friends over at calci joining us here for the postseason run you could see there on the screen uh show hey hitting a homer tonight is trading at 22 percent i'm liking yes i'm taking yes here because he hasn't hit a homer show he hasn't hit a homer in over a month show hay is very much due he is hungry and by the way at that price uh let's say you you put in 25 dollars you trade that pay out is at 109.97, if you're right.
Starting point is 00:22:54 It is important to note, Kalshi, it is peer to peer trading. It is not a sports book. Starting point is 00:23:19 but to button up. Shohei is good. Show Hay is going yard tonight. And Shohei hitting first or hitting second for the Dodgers. That sounds really good, Alana. I mean, I'd much rather have any way that's complaining that Shohei is in there over Hosovo de Paola needs to get their head examined. I understand completely that he is a phenomenal spark of energy.
Starting point is 00:23:39 I love the at-bats that he's taking the plate discipline that Katie Wu has talked about, but stop it, okay? The fact of that Sho-hay has gotten that two-week rest, it is obviously proven dividends. We were praying and begging for the love of God, put him on the IL, make him sit down, let him rest a little bit. They did that and it proved to be beneficial. So I will take Shohei over anybody any day. All right. Other things to talk about of importance, guys, Blake Snell starting this weekend, Katie, so I'm looking at this and I will want your opinion as well. I'm assuming this is tune up and get right for the postseason because you're down
Starting point is 00:24:15 to your last regular season start and you have missed a lot of time. Right, and he threw only one in a 19 pitches in his last start, which was eight days ago. So it's important for Snell to make sure that he can go out. There doesn't seem to be any concern over the groin or anything like that. This is more of just get some Indians, get your arm right. You're not necessarily pitching for a complete game, right? But you are definitely pitching to make sure that this is a reliable option come the NLDS, five game series.
Starting point is 00:24:45 You probably only need three starters, but Blake Snell obviously needs to be in. there. So just about going in there, taking care of business against the Giants, making sure that he can go five innings, be effective, put any lingering concern if there is any to rest over his overall physical condition. So that's what I'm looking at for Blake Snell. Just get in, do your work, get out, get ready for the NLDS. Amen. Leave the mound without any ailments, not a, not a hang nail, not a finger, like a, you know, a paper cut, nothing, nothing. No, no. Get in, get alcohol, see ya. Yeah. Yeah. which is what we definitely want to do here as I am heading out of town.
Starting point is 00:25:23 A little bit later this afternoon tonight. You are? Yeah. Surprise. Oh. Just for a little bit. One pre-postseason camping before my life is going to be here in this room. So thoughts and prayers.
Starting point is 00:25:38 Yeah, get out of your system. We are locked in all October, the three of us. My voice isn't going to make it, guys. I'm going to be like no voice at all. No words. I'll just be here. Yeah. can you work on that? Can you work on sounding better? I'm getting real tired of this.
Starting point is 00:25:51 I had a list of you. I'm trying my best. There's a reason I wasn't here on Monday. I didn't want to hear that. There's a lot of people that there's. Well, people keep telling me. First of all, she did an amazing job on Monday. We don't need you anymore. And second of all, a lot of people like the raspy, sexy raspy voice. That's neither here nor there. So, you know. Well, I hate that even more. So, great. Smoke like two packs a day. You're going to be locked in the whole time. I want to talk quickly about the other component here of this Dodgers starting rotation.
Starting point is 00:26:24 I glazed them earlier. But there are kind of, I guess, some questions with two parts of the four-piece rotation that will make up the postseason rotation. Blake Snell, I mean, if we could talk if we wanted to, a little bit, Yamamoto. Not a great final start last night. But Blake Snell, this weekend, Tyler Glasnow tonight. I didn't really see something out of glass. We've seen a lot of the same to a degree out of Glass now.
Starting point is 00:26:48 where it's like slow start and then he just like straight up says you know eat my ass i'm going to beat everybody i'm pretty sure that's not what he says but uh we like him but oh no listen i'm all over the place all right just just just okay but we're killing katie uh yeah i don't know it hasn't it has not been a great month uh statistically for glasnow six or sorry six runs four earned four innings with the four earned and then his last start, the two earned over six. This needs to see some consistency out of him. And obviously, he's somebody, I wouldn't say he's pitching for a role. He's going to start game four when needed or he's going to be the fourth starter when needed.
Starting point is 00:27:31 But Katie, it sounds like he'll also be open to any role, maybe pitching in some relief in that division series, if it makes sense. Yeah, we saw this last year too. Again, you need three starters in a best-to-five series with the way the opt-days are structured for the National League this year. and if Tyler Glassnow without good the bullpen is shaping up to be put Tyler Glassnow on
Starting point is 00:27:51 top of that and I would put my like pitching concern for the Dodgers very very low and Glassnow is again accustomed to coming out of the bullpen he did it last year I'm with you Clint just another get in get out situation a little bit more stability just kind of end
Starting point is 00:28:06 the regular season on on the right foot but this is someone that the Dodgers are going to need in especially early to be kind of flexible and versatile and Glassnow's up for that. So go take care of business against the Padres. I think they could once again clinch with a win today.
Starting point is 00:28:21 No Dodger fans wants to the Padres clinch at Dodger Stadium. I get that so Tyler Glassnow can do as best to prevent that. Weird things going on in the NL West. Deepak's still alive, I guess. And then Phillies, Padres, Cubs all neck and neck.
Starting point is 00:28:38 But most important thing, guys, get the buy. Get the buy today. Get the bye. Yeah. And also you don't want the ponters. So celebrating at the Dodgers Stadium. Because they could.
Starting point is 00:28:51 They celebrate everything over. I mean, they celebrate over nothing. Think of how annoying Manny Machado would be at Dodger Stadium celebrating, I guess, clinching of whatever, I guess it would be the wild card. Clinching that. I don't know. I don't want to see that.
Starting point is 00:29:08 I don't want to see him at the Champagne on the field. I don't want to see him his performative BS there. but I do also pop-up. The thing is, no, it doesn't matter. Whatever he's doing, it doesn't make an ounce of difference anymore. Who cares? Who cares? He's two home runs away from 400. That's what he should be worried about right now.
Starting point is 00:29:28 The point is, get the buy, go to San Francisco, unless it matters in terms of the integrity of the game, who you roll out there. It's not going to, because it's San Francisco, and they're not going to, you know, know, get into the postseason. If it affects the other wildcar teams, perhaps Dave will do the right thing in terms of the integrity of the game.
Starting point is 00:29:49 But rest your guys, get them ready. Who cares? Like, get that first round by. Take it easy. And then get ready to be locked in like the three of us are for postseason. Oh, yeah, I'm not locked in. We're so locked in. Obviously, look at the show.
Starting point is 00:30:03 We're so locked in. Like, yeah, like high level view. I said, I said for postseason locked in. Yeah, it's an important fact. All for cover. Some of us, we all need. the buy. Everybody here needs the buy. Yes.
Starting point is 00:30:17 Guys, we have more D.T. to come right after this. The music you love. I heart radio. Your favorite radio stations. Everywhere you go. The podcasts everyone's talking about. All in one place. And it's free. I heart radio. Whatever you

Starting point is 00:30:45 Grab the free app. I heart radio. Everywhere you go. Always free. Download the free IR Radio app today. Hi, it's Alec Baldwin. This season on my podcast, here's the thing I'm speaking with more artists, policymakers, and performers like actor Stephen Root.
Starting point is 00:31:02 I think for me to be any good or for any character act to be any good, you've got to put enough of yourself and your empathy for people in it. I'm a people watcher. You see that guy going down to doing. Yeah, I can use that. Open Igloo co-founder, Alia Muhammad. I love staying on top of what is going on in our city, what is going on in city politics, what is on renter's minds, and taking all of that knowledge to build a platform that hopefully
Starting point is 00:31:28 is going to make New York City better in the long run. And actress and singer Melissa Eriko. Partnership took on a whole other meaning when I started making my own work. It's like you with a great actress or actor. It was best to come out of your trailer, full of life, and just face another person who's full of life and don't talk. Listen to Here's the Thing on the IHeart Radio app Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Starting point is 00:31:57 Hi, I'm Michael Imperioli. I want to tell you about my new podcast, Underground Zero. It's about what happened in the aftermath of the 9-11 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York. We're looking at the opportunity of a lifetime for us and the other families. While the world was mourning, five powerful New York families saw an opportunity. The debris is supposed to go to the city-owned salvage yard, and some of it will. They would go on to make millions of dollars. What's in the tunnels?
Starting point is 00:32:27 Gold bars, Sylvaingets. It could be worth half a billion. And they would have made more if it hadn't been for one courageous cop. No, Dad, don't. You're going to need all of us. I'll call you when I can. Frank, be careful. Underground Zero, starring Steve Sharipa, Ray Abruzzo, and me, Michael Imperioly. Would you be willing to see your family go to pieces? Some ways it already has.
Starting point is 00:32:50 Listen to Underground Zero on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts. All right, guys, I wanted to talk to you once again about Caroline. She's almost done with her heartworm medication treatment plan in terms of the actual physical pills. And then she has to get three upcoming injections. We found her as a stray in San Diego, Texas, actually, and flea and tick and heartworm is a lot more prevalent in her rural area than it is in Los Angeles. So it's one of the first heartworm cases this particular vet in L.A. has seen, and she's itty-bitty. She's about 14 pounds, so the medication is really tough on a little body, but she's doing okay. She's getting ready to head to the first of three injections, and she will have to have an overnight stay all three
Starting point is 00:33:40 times. And that costs a lot of money. It's about $1,700 for her hospitalization. So if you could spare a few bucks, we'd certainly appreciate that to help us get her the care that she needs to get her completely healthy and then spayed and then healed and then adopted. So it's not, you know, it's one thing just to get them off the streets and out of shelters. It's a whole other thing. It's highly to make sure they get the care that they need. And we appreciate this community for helping us out with that. So thank you so much. Donate at gidreysgardion.org. There's a couple of other ways you can do that too. All right, guys, do not forget our baseball thought for the road. Game 158, you get your first opening day lineup. How about this, kids? O'Cani returns from the IL, bets free.
Starting point is 00:34:24 This is insane to think that game 158 that these guys have not been in a lineup together. It's insanity. Absolutely insanity. Woo. Talk. Sorry, I forgot to mute my cough, so I hope everybody enjoyed that. Yeah, I saw it on my side here. You cough, then you muted yourself.
Starting point is 00:34:50 Just order of operations, a little backwards. Can I pop this up for a second from Foxy? Lock in, people. We're trying. I'm trying to work after this. I have to go, like, talk to people and act normal after this. I'm so sorry. I'm so sorry, Foxy Cinnamon 7307.
Starting point is 00:35:08 That lineup is crazy, because we talked all spring training about, oh, Dodgers tried to land it, probably not going to have Edmund, but, you know, give it a month or two and everything's going to be great. Fast forward to September 23rd.
Starting point is 00:35:18 There it is. But isn't this what the Dodgers do? Would you rather have your opening day line about full strength in March? Oh, my God, the voice crack. Or October. October. And they're right on top of that.
Starting point is 00:35:31 So everything's fine. It shouldn't be great. And they've still won 97 ball games. Could it still be 100. Could it still be 101? And here we are... The way the giants are looking. And here we are seeing people, including this guy, question this front office.
Starting point is 00:35:48 Question this roster. What else? One thing before we say goodbye, let's get Sammy B's comment up on the screen. I appreciate this very much, even though we're being very silly right now with not being locked in. Which one? Because Sammy has been crushing it. We appreciate Sammy. We love Sammy.
Starting point is 00:36:05 The one about she can't wait because she gets all of her up. from us. Can't wait to spend all October with the three of you. That is us. Best Blake in all there's updates. Sammy B. 23. Thank you. We appreciate you very much. And right now, that's our girl. We're a hot mess, but we're not always going to be a hot mess. Come postseason, it's going to be great. It's going to be great. Yeah, we are, we are too much today. It's a Thursday, you know. We can't always just use the day as an excuse. On Monday, it gives us an excuse to be unprepared or feel unprepared. Thursday, I guess more of the same.
Starting point is 00:36:42 Also, before we sign off, 499 super chat from Skier loves baseball talking about the whole rushing JDP situation. Sorry not sorry, don't tell me that 2 plus 2 equals 5. We are questioning the Dodgers front office rushing. Max at Bats is 6 or 7 this weekend. Thank you, Riz. Assuming Shoahs sits one game and that's the ceiling.
Starting point is 00:37:02 Yeah, that's the other factor. Nobody really, really, I mean, I think other people. Where is he going to hit? Where is it going to hit? If there's not enough at bats, for a JDP, how are there enough of bats for rushing? But maybe yeah, I don't know.
Starting point is 00:37:15 I don't know, guys. Oops. They got to cheat more. They just got to cheat more and that shouldn't be on the screen. So we're going to go ahead and get rid of that. Of course I do that when I get rid of my drop the comments button. But anyways, how about we do this? This GTF
Starting point is 00:37:32 out of here, guys. We hate ourselves too, you guys. Don't worry. Like, it's not just it's us. We hate ourselves today. By it. Clint, have a good weekend. Don't drown in the lake. Don't get eaten by anything while you're camping. This is a little. Whatever.
Starting point is 00:37:47 Katie, rest your voice. I'm sure. Have a good weekend. Have a good weekend. Everybody. We are back on Monday. Bye. Hi. I'm Michael and Perioli. I want to tell you about my new podcast, Underground Zero. We're looking at the opportunity of a lifetime for us and the other families. It's about the aftermath of the 9-11 attacks. What's in the tunnels?
Starting point is 00:38:14 I'm going to be worth half a billion. Starring Steve Sharippa, Rea Brutzo, and me, Michael Imperioly. How far you're prepared to go? Depends how far you are.
