He figures that the Mets are going to be sellers, right?
Why not?
They're horrific.
And he thinks Francisco Lindor and Harrison Bader are now Dodgers at the deadline.
What is up, everybody?
Welcome to a live edition of Dodgers territory on this Thursday afternoon.
My name is Alana Rizzo alongside my co-host, Clint Paseas.
We are here for the next 30 minutes to bring you everything about the Los Angeles Dodgers.
We welcome in those watching Fowell Territory and also welcome those that are just joining us
For Dodgers territory, by the way, we want to say welcome to Hammering Territory of the Atlanta Braves as well as north side of territory.
Clint, our family is growing and it is great.
The family tree is just getting more branches.
That's what we want to see.
You guys need to make sure you like all of these channels, subscribe to all these channels, especially ours.
We're trying to get to a thousand subs.
But the love is felt here on the Internet.
A lot of great baseball coverage from the Fowell Territory family.
And I love the fact that everybody's clamoring to have a territory for their team.
So we are growing and we are happy that you are here.
And as Clint said, make sure you like and join and subscribe.
All right.
The big ticket.
Bad, bad, bad series against the Reds, really good series against the New York Mets.
Clint, let's get to it.
You've said it before, my friend.
You've said that you thought that Will Smith was not only the most underrated catcher in the bigs,
but probably the most underrated player in the show.
and he's just proving that you're right.
He is back on fire.
Had a little bit of a lull there in May.
Five of his last seven hits going out of the ballpark
just past the 100 career home run mark.
It is fun to watch Will Smith when he's right,
when he's at his best.
We're seeing that right now.
And a reason why he's able to hit second in the lineup,
third in the lineup, fourth in line.
We can put him anywhere and he's putting together quality at bats.
And I mean, he's hitting homers.
I don't know if it's an astounded.
rate, but as a catcher, it's pretty damn impressive what we're seeing from him.
Well, let's find out. I mean, we talk about the fact he's already eclipsed the 100 home run
mark. So how fast is Will Smith gotten there? I feel like it was just two days ago that we're
talking about this guy getting signed and called up. And I mean, he's just been so incredibly
impressive. So I don't know where he ranks yet as far as the, here we go. Blake Harris had this up.
I mean, he's right. Look at the top. Mike Piazza, Buster Posey. I mean, that's some pretty incredible
numbers. I mean, Buster's going into the Hall of Fame. It's like you think about the fact that
these guys are unbelievable players in their own right, and Will Smith is right there, and he does
it so quietly. He, it's funny. I mean, Will Smith and quiet go hand in hand, whether he is
hosting a comedy show or not. But this is somebody we've talked about before. We talked about
a little bit when we had him here on Dodgers territory a couple months ago. Dodgers find this dude,
draft, develop him. When they.
sign him, you didn't really know what you're going to get.
The bat wasn't supposed to be this good.
The glove was supposed to be a little bit advanced.
He comes up.
Things kind of go the other direction.
Maybe the bat was ahead of the glove, but everything has come together to make him a complete
ball player.
As Alasheva Jones says, Will Smith is a total stud Dodger.
Thank God he's going to be a Dodger for 10 seasons, at least the next 10 seasons,
hopefully mostly catching.
but giving credit to this Dodgers organization for not only finding, drafting, developing,
but really the developing.
You've seen it firsthand.
Some of these diamonds in the rough, and I don't know what we want to call like, you know,
first second round pick, a diamond in the rough, but still turning him into somebody,
who again, I argue one of the most underrated baseball players in the game today.
And I want to say what's up to Ellis Chavez-Jov-Jones, because I tell you what,
on every show being a participant. We love that. Fair territory earlier with Ken Rosenthal
today here on Dodger territory. Get involved in the conversation, you guys. We do this for fun.
We do this for you. We want to hear what you have to say. This is our team, but this is your team.
So load up those questions in the chat. And Clint and I will get to it. How have you seen,
you mentioned that the glove was probably advanced, right, a little bit ahead of the bat. I think
everything's coming together, as you mentioned. But there's just been a maturity about Will Smith
that I noticed early on. And as soon as he came up, Clint, I was a little bit.
like this guy reminds me a lot of baby posey he has the same makeup the same build the same style
the same way that he goes about i mean buster's quiet but buster's loud enough to be in the hall
of fame yeah i mean i think it's it's not really going on a limb going out on a limb that would
to say that buster posey will be uh elected to the hall of fame maybe not first ballot but maybe
first ballot but this is a dodger show not a a giant show so we don't want to give buster posing too
much love but the comp was always there in the early goings
for Will Smith. You got a lot of those Buster Posey
comps. You get it with another catcher
in the Dodger system as well.
You've heard a little bit of Buster Posey
with somebody like Dalton rushing, but
sticking with Willie here,
it's fun to watch. That's
I'm going to leave. I'm going to leave it a blanket of it's
very fun to watch him.
Just put it all together.
That's what Will has done. He's put it all together.
Become somebody that
it's not just about the offense.
Defensively, very good. Game calling.
Very damn good.
You know, Dodgers locked up the right one for 10 years.
All right.
You know what?
The daughters have to continue to do what they did in the Mets series.
And that's pick up the offense, Clint, with Max Muncie on the IL.
We've talked so much at Nauseum.
Honestly, I'm sure people are sick of us talking about it.
But the top of the order is brilliant, right?
I mean, even with Teosker Hernandez, Teasca Hernandez leading the team in RBI.
I mean, the top one through five through six has been tremendous.
And they have to continue to do that in the absence of Muncie.
Because, again, the bottom of the order continues to be a flipping problem.
and I don't know what they do about this.
I don't know if they get a bottom of the order bat,
if they get an outfielder,
if they get a bullpen piece at the trade deadline.
But again, the offense picking it up in Muncie's absence,
what's been your biggest takeaway?
Right now, I like them maximizing what they have.
We know this is a team we're going to be seeing for the next month or so.
We still have a couple of months until trade deadline time.
But one of the things we're talking about in our pre-production call here
was looking at one pretty critical.
play from somebody who has gone through the ringer this year. That is Christopher Armand Taylor,
who has struggled for every definition of the word has struggled this year at the plate.
But a well-timed, almost bad bunt, turns out perfect. Get it wasn't sexy. It wasn't sexy,
but he got it down, that safety squeeze. I mean, listen, at this point, I'll take any, I will take
Chris Taylor picking up the ball and, like, throwing it into, like, the infield, just a, I mean,
whatever you need to do, whatever you need to do to put the ball in play for CT3,
who I absolutely adore.
Yeah, not sexy, but it was effective.
And maybe that's something to get him going.
I don't know.
You got to praise Dave Roberts for, I mean, calling that safety squeeze in that situation,
you know, reading the room, I guess.
Yeah, I mean, what?
They were on a five-game losing streak at that point.
The game was, they were in the middle of a, what, two nothing shut out,
lost at that point, get the run on the board, CT.
I think that's what it was at that point anyways.
But C.T. Dave Roberts pulling that string.
I like what Chris Taylor said after the game.
He's like, look, I'm just trying to do whatever I can to help this team.
It has been a struggle for me this year, but I want to help this team.
And that helped.
That was one of those sparks.
You know how this game goes.
You could be in the middle of a five-game losing streak.
And I think it was Stephen Nelson who said it on the broadcast, our friends.
It's like you can go from, you know, five-game losing streak to a two-game winning streak in one day with that double-header.
and that's pretty damn impressive.
And I kind of look at that point, the smart call by somebody,
Dave Roberts, who gets a lot of shit from fans online at every turn they can give it to him.
To pull that string, CT2, we'll say execute because it was getting married.
Adamatovino's 10 years younger.
Maybe he makes that play.
Maybe he doesn't.
But it worked out in the Dodgers favor.
And now we're looking at having swept the Mets who we know they're bad.
But still, the Mets are a damn circus. The Mets are a damn circus. But let's talk about that in a little bit. But first of all, let's talk about the emotion. I again, anytime the Dodgers do anything, I don't care if it's, it doesn't matter what the situation is. I basically am like, let's F and go. Right. So Daniel Headsden comes off the hill and he puts, you know, the quiet emoji essentially to the Mets. And again, there are some people like, oh, stop it. It's just the Mets. They're terrible anyway. You know what? You don't know what a guy is going through, right? And I'm about.
to talk out of both sides of my mouth here. So you don't know what Daniel Hudson was going through
at that moment. You know, maybe he was battling something internally. I don't know. I have no
problem with doing this to shut up the fans or shut up whatever the demons are. If you can take it
on the other end, right? Like if somebody tease off on Daniel Hudson and they take him deep,
if the guy throws his bat and has a bat flip, you've got to be able to deal with that as well.
So I don't know that that was a, you know, a gesture that bothers me. Maybe if he's on the,
Maybe if he's on the Mets and he's doing that to the Dodgers, I'm like, what the F are you thinking?
But on the flip side of that, Clint, you see Lopez throw his glove into the stands,
which I thought was a petulant child move.
And then he said he didn't regret it, which I thought, I thought the fact that he didn't have any remorse,
that bothered me.
I will give him a pass on the translation and what was said afterwards.
Where was PR?
Where was the interpreter that was handled so poorly?
So I'm not getting on Lopez for what was said after, whether he was the worst teammate on the worst team or he was just saying he was the worst teammate.
But the throwing of the glove in the stands and then saying he didn't regret that I had a problem with.
What is worse to you?
Let's assume Hudson's not on our team, right?
What's worse to you?
Throwing the glove into the stands or, you know, telling people to shut up?
The glove.
The glove hands down is worse because it's a bad look all around.
It's bad look on you as a player.
It's a bad look for your teammates.
Now they got to field questions about this,
the bad look on the organization,
because I agree with you,
Alana, how was PR not involved with this situation?
How was somebody not there?
They mentioned there were some things lost in translation.
Maybe there should be somebody there.
Maybe he should be doing his interviews in Spanish.
If that helps him feel more comfortable,
we could have cleared up a lot of issues with the post game,
you know, we'll say misinterpretation there.
But still, it comes down to the fact that he,
chose to throw his glove and whatever's going on in his life led him to that point. Not very happy
with the Mets, not very happy with this decision to sign there. And now, you know, he's going to be a
free agent that is released and all that DFA'd. But don't do that. Don't do that to your team.
It's just a bad look all around. I wish I was sitting here where he threw his glove. Yeah,
BC, I hear you. That would have been a nice souvenir that you certainly didn't expect. But he did it in a
frustrating situation. It wasn't, I truly believe it wasn't meant to be malicious. Let me ask you
this though if that's Francisco Lindor or if that's Pete Alonzo and they happen to throw their glove
into the stands that person's not getting DFA not talking about contract situations I'm talking about
there's different rules for different players now they wanted to say like that's not the cold
that we want to represent that's not you know that's not something that we stand by but don't tell
me if that was a player that has a bigger name or a bigger contract that they're getting DFA today
yeah I mean you got one year contract as well
all the stars lined up.
You need a fall guy for that organization, which again is very poorly run.
I will say almost kind of teasing something a little bit later where I think we're going to talk
about in the show.
You know, the Met struggles is probably the gain for the rest of the league when it comes
to potential trade pieces.
But, you know, don't be Jorge Lopez on a $2 million deal and throw your glove if you want
to keep your job is apparently what it is because, yeah, Polar Bear, he's keeping his job.
Frankie Lindor, Francisco Lindor, he's keeping his job.
job just about everybody else is. But somebody's got to take the hit. And let me, just don't throw your
glove. You'll be fine. Don't throw your glove. Hello, hello. I'm Malcolm Gladwell, host of the podcast,
Smart Talks with IBM. I recently sat down with IBM's chairman and CEO, Arvin Krishna. And I asked him,
how can companies use AI to its fullest potential to create smarter business? My one advice to that.
Pick areas you can scale. Don't pick the shiny little toys on the side.
For example, if anybody has more than 10% of what they had for customer service 10 years ago,
they're already five years behind.
If anybody is not using AI to make their developers who write software 30% more productive today,
with the goal of being 70% more productive.
Yeah, wow.
So we are not asking our clients to be the first experiment.
on it. We say, you can leverage what we did. We're happy to bring out all our learnings,
including what needs to change in the process, because the biggest change is not technology,
is getting people to accept that there's a different way to do things.

There's a shit show.
Edwin Diaz is hurt.
Pitoonzo gets hit in the hand.
They're not hitting.
They're not pitching.
It's just an absolute mess in the fourth year
of Steve Cohen's tenure there,
who obviously has more money than God.
So we'll see if they're sellers.
And I know that you're going to talk about some of their pieces that you would like us to pick up.
We're going to get there in a moment.
But first, let's get to behind the seams.
Craig Osterberg said, should certain Dodgers get days off whether they like it or not to protect their health?
That's a great question.
Yeah, it's a great segue to behind the seams.
Let's go.
All right.
So Craig was asking the question if certain Dodgers should get days off to protect themselves from themselves, right?
All right.
So Mookie Betts gets a pretend off day going from the shortstop spot to second base.
that's not an off day.
That is like, all right, we're going to try to put you back over here to try to solve the issue for our infield.
This is a bigger issue than I want to give it credit.
So I complained.
I was kind of complaining at the end, towards the end of our last show where we had Scott German on
and we were having a whole great conversation about Mookie and the shortstop situation and all of that.
And my thing was, and it's something I've been barking about really for the last year,
Mookie is not 25 anymore and he's moving to the infield.
He needs days off.
He needs real days off.
I don't give a shit about games in May.
Yes, all wins are created equal,
but we've seen this team get bounced in the first round of the playoffs,
two years in a row and in two series in a row where Mookie has not been himself.
He has been a shell of himself as an offensive threat in the postseason.
Take advantage of these situations.
give him an actual day off, a real day off, let him sit on his ass, enjoy a game from the bench,
best seats in the house, and hey, doesn't even need to pay for a ticket.
Don't put him at second base and mask it as a day off.
You know, for a while, the Dodgers were using the DH as that kind of day off.
We saw Will Smith get a game off as the DH, which worked very well before they signed J.D. Martinez last year,
before you signed Shohei Otani this year, which I'm all about signed.
showing shoha tani but having the having a designated dh it's killing us having show hey as the dh every
day is i mean i say that ridiculous it sounds ridiculous to say that show hey otani is killing us i don't mean it
that way but my point is it's harder to mix and match because you cannot take show hey out of the
lineup so if you can't play him in the field because of injury uh and he's not pitching you know
so he's always going to be there i mean it's difficult you know this is a roster that's constructed
in a certain way and of course they figured in injuries but
you know, Mookie, as much as I hate to say it, and I still believe in him, obviously,
I guess he's not the answer at short. I don't know.
I mean, I guess they expected Gavin to be hitting a lot more.
I mean, your point is, why are we not effing starting Miguel Rojas?
Not every game, because he's, you know, he's older than Mookie, I think.
But the point is, he should be starting more at short.
I think, and I know our colleague here, your co-hosts over there on Thursday,
Fair Territory, Mr. Ken Rosenthal, talking about.
how this team needs some help, maybe in the infield, maybe in the outfield.
I think the infield is not a problem because you have friend of the show, Miguel Rojas,
and he plays, it's not a secret that he plays phenomenal defense at shortstop.
And he's also been pretty freaking good with the bat this year.
Alana, what is it going to take to get Miguel Rojas more consideration as not a starting shortstop,
but maybe being there three of seven games a week?
And it's an admittance that you made a mistake,
an admittance that you're bringing in, you know,
mokey bets from right field to short as he was going to supposedly be your infield
savior,
an admittance that,
you know,
Gavin Lux maybe isn't ready.
The acknowledgement that Kike and CT,
unfortunately,
in the exact same year as super utilities are having horrendous years offensively,
I don't ever doubt their gloves.
I just,
I just don't.
But, I mean,
it's like a,
it's a perfect storm almost.
Gavin's not hitting.
James Outman is back in the minor.
leagues. Andy Pah has just come back down to earth. So it's like everything kind of culminating at
once. And you have to admit that, you know what? Maybe we need a shortstop. Maybe we put
Mookie back in right field and figure out a center fielder. You know, and then don't even, you know,
and this isn't even addressing the back end of the bullpen with four of our guys like, you know,
that we're counting on that are hurt. So again, we have two months and a lot can change in that time.
But maybe admitting that you made a mistake and put Mookie back in right field. I mean, he's a right,
You know, he's a gold glove red fielder.
I don't know.
Ooh, now we're getting spicy right there.
That was one of the things I had kind of asked, you know, allowed in the off season, too.
It's like if things go bad in the outfield.
And we're still, you know, we're still learning about who Jason Hayward is this year.
He's been pretty good.
He's hitting the ball very hard since coming back off the IAL two hit game yesterday after coming off the bench.
So maybe there is some help in the outfield.
It's very clear they need a center fielder.
maybe Mookie is that centerfielder.
Maybe they put him in right and they find a way to put Jason Hayward in the,
in center field or somewhere in the outfield.
But the outfield has been a major issue for as much crap as we'll give Gavin Lux,
who's hitting the ball a little bit better, but still only hitting, what, 2.30 in the month of May.
I think in the infield there's help there already with Miguel Rojas,
getting him some more opportunities.
Maybe he becomes the guy in October.
but you know they need to start looking ahead to that trade deadline a little bit and don't think for
one second clint posseus hasn't already started thinking ahead and he has this amazing this amazing
scenario you guys because he figures that the Mets are going to be sellers right why not they're horrific
and he thinks that the answer or maybe a possible i'm not going to i'm not going to throw him under
the west he's my guy but francisco lindore and harrison bader are now dodgers at the deadline
explain yourself listen listen i'm just telling people here the reality is the metz are bad uh one of
the things steve cohen said uh after he bought the team is you know he wanted to model it after the
dodgers they are far far from what the dodgers organization is the consistency in finding players
uh draft players yeah farm system up and down through the organization they are not there there's a lot
of problems. The team doesn't seem to really gel that well because we had, we had what,
pizza rat incident a couple years ago, whatever it is. There's a New York rat in the sub or in
the tunnel or whatever it is. There's a lot of problems there. And we've seen old Uncle Stevie be
okay with putting in some money to kind of reshape an organization. They traded away Verlander.
After just a few months, same with Max Scherzer. I wonder, I wonder if they would be open to
the idea of kind of pulling the plug on the Francisco Lindor deal there.
The Dodgers have long been enamored with Lindor,
and I understand I'm going to pause here and step back and look at myself and call myself
an idiot already, you know, say the reality of it.
However, were they enamored with Francisco Lindor as a Cleveland Indian now
garden?
Or were they, are they in,
are they still enamored with what Francisco Indoor is going to give you above what
Mookie could give you or what Gavin Luxe can give you if they figure it out?
I mean, Francisco Lendor, and I love, I love the guy.
But Francisco Lendor is a different player now than he was when the Dodgers were connected to him in possible trades from the guardian.
Francisco is kind of agreeing with me.
He said, you know, Francisco Lendor is kind of falling off a cliff a little bit there.
I mean, obviously last season he had a 30-30 season.
But this year, he's not, the Mets are just a mess.
And I think, you know, hitting is contagious and nobody is.
What is one of the adage, you know, it's look good, feel good.
It's look good, play good.
It's play good, play good.
If he's around a better team, I think Francisco Lindor would be reinvigorated.
We had the quota a couple weeks back when he was playing against his former team,
the Cleveland Guardian, saying that he misses winning.
You know what?
They're in last with them.
They're in last without him.
You know what I mean?
Like DMAX number one fan Lindor might do better in Dodger Blue not having to be that dude
to carry the team.
But he's not necessarily that dude in New York either.
I mean, Pete Alonzo, I feel like is more the dude.
But yeah, I mean, maybe, I don't know.
I just don't know.
Let's be real.
I don't know if Cohen is his show.
I mean, I don't think he's going to, I don't think they're going to re-sign along
to a long-term deal.
I think they would have done that already.
Roy Estrada, the Mets would need to eat the majority of that contract.
That's a great point, Roy.
We were talking about that earlier because with Cohen, like, eating the majority of Scherzer's contract
and Verlander's contract, you're thinking, man, maybe he, you know, maybe the Mets eat
80 million of Lendor's contract, you know, 10 million years.
That's a lot, but the guy has a lot of money.
Yeah, and if the Mets do want to kind of kickstart a rebuild, then you have a bunch of pitching in the Dodgers organization.
You have some catching help.
They can get a lot of talent back as long as they're sending some money back.
The Dodgers, let's be real.
They have a shortstop issue.
Gavin Lux is not going to be the answer.
Mookiee Betts is not the answer for long term.
He could be the answer for this year, but they don't have.
a shortstop for next year for three years from now.
And that's just a reality as where Francisco Lindor is still playing a good shortstop.
And, you know, the hope is you're banking on the talent to come back, the offense to kind of,
bounce back when he's playing on a better team.
He's in a playoff hunt, not playing on, you know, arguably the worst team in baseball at the
moment.
So it's just something.
It's something to start spitballing out there.
Again, Dodgers need a shortstop.
the Mets need to rebuild.
Steve Cohen has money and
and it's early, it's May
so we can have these kind of wild speculation.
It's not even a speculation.
This is just a conversation.
We're just spitball in here, guys.
We're just spitball and no need to hold this to, you know,
hold this to it.
We're just having a combo.
By the way, if you think the Mets are the worst organization,
I think the white slacks would say,
hold my beer as far as that concern.
Our friend of the program, what's that?
I said National League then.
That's the worst.
Oh, okay.
Fair.
Fair enough.
Fair enough.
Hello, hello.
I'm Malcolm Gladwell, host of Smart Talks with IBM.
I recently spoke with IBM's new director of research, Jake Gambata.
We discussed his vision for the future of quantum computing.
At IBM research, what we always do is answer what is the future of computing, whether it's
coming up with new algorithms, coming up with better AI, coming up with quantum, or coming
up with just how do different accelerators go together. It's our DNA to answer the question
of what is the future. Isn't it a perfect problem for IBM because you kind of need to have a
legacy of building stuff? Yes. Building actual physical machines. Yeah, it's why I came to IBM.
I wanted the experience, the culture of building hard things that others have not done before.
Where do you imagine we are in the timeline of this technology?
There will come a point when it will mature.
Right?
Yeah.
My cell phone is a mature technology at this point.
How far are we from that point with quantum?
By 2029, we'll build the first fault-tolerant quantum computer.
That is one that can run a very, very large, large problem.

All right. Fabian Ardaya, who does a great job on the athletic, brought up an interesting point, too, that the Dodgers are throwing more sinkers. They're not getting rid of other pitches, Clint, but they're throwing more sinkers in not just Tyler Glasnell's arsenal, but a lot of different guys. Fabian was saying that Tyler Glasnow to Gavin Stone, to Ryan Yarbrough, to Yoshinovo, Yamamoto, and beyond. They aren't trying to buck convention of the high four-seeing fastball, but it's actually helping their fastball. Is this something that you've noticed? It was a good observance.
by Fabian for sure.
I think it's definitely something you notice and thank you know,
thank to Fabian there for kind of putting the words in our brain for something our eyes are
already seeing.
But the Dodgers are reinventing the wheel by going old school.
You change eye level.
You go side to side, northwest, all that kind of directions that are on a compass.
I lost most of them there.
But adding that thinker, you're reintroducing the bottom of the strike sound to the
to hitters who over the last five, you know, 10 years, well, maybe not 10, but over the last,
you know, a few years have caught up to that high fastball. They're looking for that and probably
swinging at a breaking ball away, but to have something moving back in on right handers, something,
the old Maddox to left handers in on the belt buckle coming back and hitting the strike
zone. That's going to go a long way. And the guy we see on the screen there, I think, has been the
most, um, uh, reap the benefits the most, that being Gavin Stone, who is an entirely different
pitcher this year. And he put in the work, but also that, that repertoire change that we, we did speak
to Mark prior about a little bit, a couple weeks ago. And I still, I still want to talk to Mark some
more, because that's just so much fun for me. But it's the right top of the strike zone, bottom of the
strike zone, east, west, north, south. It's all there. And it helps, uh, it helps this team be, have arguably
one of the best pitching staffs in the game while still being one of the more injured
pitching staffs in the game. By the way, for your directionally impaired self, it's never eat
shredded wheat, never eat sour worms, okay? I mean, just it's really not that bad. This is something
we learned in third grade for goodness sake. Yeah, you were talking about Gavin Stone and I know you're,
I know you're high on this kid, but Dave Roberts said, listen, he's the best when he throws that low
dart. And that's something that we're seeing him do more. So that's the one thing I do enjoy about the
doggers organization is they let guys be themselves in terms of what has made you successful to
this point but once you feel comfortable doing that let's see what else we can do to make you even
more successful add something else to the repertoire add another out pitch and i think you're seeing that
they're doing it not just with stone but for you know the guys that fabian mentioned yeah i love it i love
seeing uh this team continue to not just be okay with the status quo keep getting better something the
Mets don't do, but you keep getting better. You keep changing some things.
All right. Time now for last licks as we kind of conclude our Dodgers territory show.
Here we go. All right. Last licks, this is Buck. He is a one and a half year old husky Clint.
He's smart. He is so eager to please. He just loves people. He loves kids. He loves other dogs.
He is in need of a home. The unfortunate thing is the L.A. Animal Services Organization,
which is worse than the New York Mets.
allowed Buck to get adopted by a 93-year-old elderly gentleman who cannot handle a one-and-a-half-year-old
husky. Huskies are active. They need mental and physical stimulation. He is available for adoption.
He is healthy. He is wonderful. Please reach out to us, gidreysguardian.org or you can shoot me
a DM on Twitter, Instagram. I can get you more information. He's about to get neutered. That's very
important in terms of controlling the pet population. Bob Barker. Also, it lengthens the
life and it makes him not so crazy. But Buck is awesome. So please reach out if you're interested
in him. All right. I want to ask you before we wrap the show up, your perspective on the Ronald
Acuna Jr. injury and how it affects the National League and the League in general.
I'll say, yeah, baseball-wise, it's awful. You don't want to see one of the biggest draws in the
game, one of the reigning MVP in the National League get injured again. And I mean, I'm not saying,
and him hurting himself as stupid,
but in such like a chicken shit way for it to happen,
you know,
maybe run into like a,
you're getting a car accident or something.
I'm going to bail on this.
Whoa,
whoa,
you know,
you get my point here.
Like,
it's,
I'm trying to move,
I'm trying to turn,
I'm trying to get back to the base,
and then this happens,
and it's devastating for baseball.
We know there are some fans that are out there like,
oh,
this is great for the Dodgers.
And sure,
on paper,
maybe it does help,
but you don't want to see this.
You don't wish,
injuries to any opponent. You don't wish injuries to anybody. And this is devastating for baseball,
for Acuna, because now we're going to be without him for another year, year and a half. And who
knows what he's going to be like when he comes back from a second ACL injury. Well, and it sucks
for him because in 2021, it was the other leg. He missed the remainder of the season. They go on and
win the World Series. I hate this for him, obviously. Let me ask you this, though, even before the
Acuna injury, do you think the Phillies are a bigger threat to the Dodgers or the Braves?
Well, we're talking about this a little bit earlier between us.
The easy answer is the Phillies.
Obviously, the Phillies, we don't know if this is going to be one of those clock strikes midnight situations for them.
But they are good.
They have the pitching.
They finally have some semblance of a bullpen, but they have the bats and they're able to put it all together.
Dodgers fans, Braves fans for the last couple of years, have been robbed of that re-rematch.
you know, the three-peat blood bath that we were expecting in the NLCS.
It hasn't been there.
And the team, the Braves, went out and restocked a little bit,
finding, you know, Chris Sale being healthy again and being his dominant Sy Young self.
So it was looking like things were trending towards maybe,
maybe these two teams finally get that opportunity to play against each other again in the NLCS.
And we're not saying that that's not there.
But this definitely has.
helps the Phillies a lot more in the NL East and maybe,
maybe with the Dodgers eventually meeting up with them.
But I would argue of the two teams to beat in the National League,
it is the Dodgers and it is the Philadelphia Phillies.
Hot take on May 30th, Ranger Suarez wins the National League, Syung.
What do you got coming up on all Dodgers tonight?
It's Thursday Thursday.
Thursday. We're going an hour later.
It is a 7 p.m. start Pacific time.
And me and our friend Scott Gierman of Dodger Blue, he's going to be joining me on the channel,
and we are going to be doing the next installment of our monthly grades series.
So we're going to breaking down everything about this team in the month of May,
what we liked, handing out our A, B, C, Ds, and Fs, whatever it may be,
and probably talking a little bit more about some trade stuff.
So you guys, tube in All Dodgers with Clint Passeas here on YouTube,
and subscribe here to the All Dodgers YouTube, or what are we called?
It's the Dodgers Territory.
It's Dodgers Territory.
Yes, you get a D for today, by the way, since you're giving out grades.
I'm going to give myself like a B minus.
All right.
Don't forget that the Dodgers started a three-game series with the Colorado Rockies coming up back at Chavez Ravine.
And make sure you listen to Clint's podcast tonight.
All Dodgers, we will be back on Monday for another episode of Dodgers territory on the Fowell Territory Channel,
Los Angeles, ALD Territory 2 on Twitter and all that good stuff.
So appreciate you guys being here.
Take care.
Bye.
