Clint's music loves it. Congratulations to those guys on foul territory. That's awesome as the foul territory platform continues to grow. All right. Time now, click for the greatest showman. What is going on in your studio, Clint? I was only one of those. I was only the applause, but let's let's sit some front end. He continues to exceed expectations, Clint Paseas.
Starting point is 00:03:24 I mean, are we really going to say that Shohei Otani is exceeding expectations? We know he hits the hell out of the ball. I mean, now that he's not pitching, you know, we've talked about this before. Maybe that opens up some opportunity for him to just rake even more. But, man, has he been fun to watch hitting out of that leadoff spot? He's destroying baseballs a couple of bombs over 450, 450 feet out of that leadoff spot of recent vintage, hitting 481 over this last week, seven homers. What is he hitting?
Starting point is 00:04:01 and 458 since taking over in the leadoff spot as well. Shohei Otani, yeah, he might work out for this team. Yeah, that's what I'm wondering too. Like when Mookie Betts comes back, do they move him out of the leadoff spot to give bets that thing? Let me just give you some numbers. Let me throw this at you here for just a hot second. He's reached based, Clint, 20 times and 34 played appearances over his last seven games.
Starting point is 00:04:22 He's gone 13 for 27, six home runs, three double baggers, 13 RBI in that span. his last six games against everybody as far as the white socks are concerned ludicrous 11 for 21 that's 524 average against the pale hose with seven home runs and 10 rbi that's basically a homer every three at bats clint this is a guy that has owned the white socks i realize everyone's owned the white socks this year but the dodgers are about to open up a series against the white socks there on the south side of chicago and show him O'A Otani is hot, hot, hot at just the right time. How about this dude, by the way? See you later, Otani. Welcome, O Hoppe. Listen, you're making the most of your purchase right there. I appreciate that Angels fans moving on real, real quick with that one.
Starting point is 00:05:13 Logo Hoppy, he's another one that I very much enjoy with those halos. But yeah, big, a nice couple of games against his former team at Dodger Stadium. The first time he's faced his former team in the regular season. Of course, those teams will match up again in, I think it's, September rocking the new shoes of course as well courtesy of her friends so sure that like that's not really that exciting i mean i get that they're new but it's just a gold new balance logo like i'm going to need a little bit more pizzazz those are his shoes like do you have your own shoe line alon come on now of course i don't of course i don't but i mean i guess i guess it's indicative
Starting point is 00:05:50 of his personality he's pretty like this for those of you listening i'm just putting like a flat line okay yeah whatever he has a gold new balance i mean yes no i don't have my own shoe line you're right okay so i get it show he's cooler than me whatever so going back for a second though i really really like show hey otani leading off you kind of mentioned it as well i did a whole uh stream on my channel last week talking about where i think this guy should stay in the lead off spot i think it helps line up as well because going left right left that's assuming mookie bets would get inserted into that number two spot. Mookie is hitting very well with runners in scoring position,
Starting point is 00:06:30 and we know Shohay gets on base. Yeah, a lot of the time he hits the ball out of the ballpark, so he can't, maybe Mookie wouldn't be driving him in. But Alana, do you think that's something Dave? You know Dave's thinking. Do you think that's something he would consider moving Mookie bets down one and, you know, leaving Otani in that lead off spot? I don't think there's any reason why he shouldn't.
Starting point is 00:06:48 I mean, there's, you know, numbers that are indicative of why Otani should be in that lead off spot. want to take anything away from Mookie. But remember, when Mookie comes off of the IL, it's still going to take him a hot second to get his timing and rhythm at the plate. So perhaps, you know, the lead off spot or the two hole is not the best place to throw Mookie right back into. Perhaps he's a little bit further down in the order until he can get, you know, reacclimated to be able to have that rhythm that he needs at the plate. Here's my only concern with Otani, Clint. And I don't know if this is a concern for you as well. Otani is scorching hot. However,
Starting point is 00:07:21 23 homers this year have come against lefties. So he hits lefties well, but I have to say six of them, excuse me, six of the 23 home runs have come against lefties. So he hits Southpaws about 200 points lower as far as average than he does against right handers. Does that concern you at all? I mean, as we get forward into the season, more into the postseason, do you stack a bunch of lefties against Otani? Um, that doesn't bother me so much just because I know the power's there. And I think he would, uh, change the approach ever so slightly if it's, you know, a very important game. We're talking about postseason time. He's going to get on base. Uh, he's going to earn, you know, try to work some walks. You might work the count a little bit, even though that's not show his, uh, Otani's game necessarily. But, um, anytime you can get, you know, show Hey Otani to set, set the tone right away, not to take away anything for Muky Betts, who is one of the best.
Starting point is 00:08:21 lead off hitters of all time and the amount of what is he has like 50 home runs leading off a game something like that like mookie is very very good at his job the main thing i like about the idea of splitting it or or keeping show hey there it's not so much that i'm worried about him against lefties against righties because we know this team is going to face the best of the best in the postseason when we get that far and we know they're going to make it there but i like the idea of not having the back-to-back lefties in the lineup because i mean freddie freeing and hits well, but you can get a rival manager bringing in a, you know, a lugie to come in there and, and, you know, try to get Chohay and Freddie out. And I think that's just breaking it up,
Starting point is 00:09:03 breaking him up just a little bit. I think that does go a long way when it comes to the other manager, you know, taking something out of their back pocket. At least that's, that's my thought on it. Yeah, no, I agree with you. I definitely agree. And Dodger Dogg, his shoes are boring. I don't care that they're golden shiny. But I will say this, though, updated City Connect thoughts. I still think they stink. They look like funfetti cake. But again, Otani is it's, it's respectable. His slug against lefties, Clint, is 503 and against righte C-701. So listen, it's not like he's that slouching that much against lefties. My point is, if there is a hole in Otani's game, perhaps it's when he faces a guy in the same handedness as Shohei Otani. But he looks tremendous. I mean, the guy is just
Starting point is 00:09:45 killing it with the home runs. And yes, he is setting off the fireworks. But, you know, two home runs over 450 feet. What a way to reintroduce yourself to your former club, no? That's a fun way to do it. That's how you say you tell Artie Moreno, oh, is this a chance for me to shit all over, Artie again? Tell Artie Moreno, why would you not even bother to try to match the deal? Hey, Shoah's only getting $2 million this year. That's a pretty good bargain, if you ask me.
Starting point is 00:10:15 They wanted nothing to do it. Artie wanted nothing to do with actually paying this man his worth, and he's going to to be raking in the real Los Angeles for the next 10 years and the rest of his career. And I'm very happy. I think most Dodgers fans are very happy that Shohei is wearing blue. I do think it's incredibly funny, though, that Oh, Hopi jersey. I mean, Jersey are expensive, man. They're like, well, Otani, I'm just going to go ahead and switch the number from 17 to 14.
Starting point is 00:10:40 And Otani looks like Ohopi, so that's fine. If the Dodgers ever make a calendar, O'Tonnie is Mr. June. Well, you know what? So is Kyle Schwerber. Some people just heat up when the calendar. turns to June. And I think, you know, if you look at show his numbers, Clint, I mean, he very much could be in the MVP conversation. And Ken Rosenthal, the great Ken Rosenthal, on fair territory earlier today, was talking about the fact that Shohei could very well win
Starting point is 00:11:06 the MVP just as the DH in the National League because of the numbers that he's been putting up very quietly. He's not a shit. We say, you know, showtime, showman, the greatest showman, but Otani's just super quiet. He just goes about his business and, lets the production and the results do the talking. Yeah, he wants to, you know, he wants to live his life, go go do his favorite thing, which is go play baseball and then go home. There's nothing wrong with that. I think in the National League, in my opinion right now, and this is, I haven't done an abundance
Starting point is 00:11:39 of research around the league, but there are no names standing out to me. Obviously, Acuna wasn't having a great year and now is injured out for the year. Mookie Betts was probably on his way to his first National League. MVP until the injury happened and that's going to keep him out. So as long as Otani can keep doing what he's doing, stay healthy. That's his important thing. Stay on the field, staying healthy, staying in that lineup hitting first or second. I think it's very much in the realm of possibility that Shoah Otani gets his first National League most valuable player award because, hey, he's still the talk of town. Even if he's quiet about it, he is the biggest name in baseball. And I want to find
Starting point is 00:12:20 somebody to argue that thought against. Well, Bryce Harper would like to have a word. There's a couple of guys in the National League that would like to have a word about National League MVP. You had a comment, though, about the City Connects. One of our fans asked Axel X. Jimenez, updated City Connect thoughts. Everybody knows what I think about it. What did you have to say about it?
Starting point is 00:12:42 So seeing them on the field, IRL, I step back a little bit. I don't hate them as much. Now, on my All-Dodger show, my producer, Kevin, he has a thing. So we're trying to get to the 7,000 subscriber mark. And he says, when we hit that, that I should do a show wearing the City Connect. And I was like, bro, I don't got that kind of money laying around to buy that ugly, funfetti thing. Maybe the hat. But still, seeing it in person, I thought it wasn't as bad.
Starting point is 00:13:10 I like Tyler Glass now. He said he really enjoyed it. They don't look as bad. By the way, Chris Taylor, he also called it the fun. fettie and Taylor's not. CT's not a very big social media guy. So if CT has something that's funny that other people are saying, it must be pretty obvious that it has that fun fete feel. But they're not as bad. They're not as bad. I think they could do one or two little changes, but they're not as bad. But man, did they shove those really down people's throat?
Starting point is 00:13:39 It's like everybody on the SportsNet, L.A., pregame, post game, they're all wearing the uniforms. I saw it. This people, they really wanted people to like these unis. And so here's a fun fact. So my former boss, who's still a good friend of mine, Lon Rosen hired me at sports in L.A. When the Dodgers started that network in 2014. Well, now, because I'm not a Dodger employee,
Starting point is 00:14:04 I can be a little bit more forthright on my own personal opinion about stuff. We all know I love the Dodgers. That is my squad. I will forever love that team. I loved my time there. But when I said that the jury, jerseys looked like funfetti cake. My former boss texted me. He's like, oh, so you're a big fan, huh? I said, they look terrible. I said, we're the MF and Dodgers. And they look like we're,
Starting point is 00:14:26 like it's a pinata, like we're going to a party. But I can say that now. I can say that now, because I'm not a Dodger employee. I still love the squad, but I don't have to drink the Kool-Aid or eat the funfetti. I don't have to do it anymore. Listen, I know Lon, he might be coming after your e-caps next time you're in L.A., so be careful, Alana. No, he is. He's a grandpa now to baby Maya. I think it's going to, I think it's softened that heart a little bit. Hello, hello. I'm Malcolm Gladwell, host of Smart Talks with IBM. I recently spoke with IBM's new director of research, Jake Gambata. We discussed his vision for the future of quantum computing. At IBM research, what we always do is answer what is the future of computing,
Starting point is 00:15:10 whether it's coming up with new algorithms, coming up with better AI, coming up with quantum, or coming up with just how do different accelerators go together. It's our DNA to answer the question of what is the future. Isn't it a perfect problem for IBM because you kind of need to have a legacy of building stuff? Yes. Building actual physical machines. Yeah, it's why I came to IBM. I wanted the experience, the culture of building high.
Starting point is 00:15:40 hard things that others have not done before. Where do you imagine we are in the timeline of this technology? There will come a point when it will mature. Right? My cell phone is a mature technology at this point. How far are we from that point with Conton? By 2029, we'll build the first fault-tolerant quantum computer. That is one that can run a very, very large, large problem.

Starting point is 00:17:47 Now time for behind the seams, Clint. Let's get to it. All right. This isn't good news. Max Muncie, who we had on a foul territory a week and change ago, has been placed on this 60 day IL. He admitted to us on foul that he just wasn't feeling quite right, dealing with that oblique injury.
Starting point is 00:18:08 Again, at nauseam, we've talked about how obliques and hamstrings are tricky. But this isn't good because we've talked at length about how We miss him in the lineup. He works counts. He forces the pitcher to throw a lot of pitches. And now we're going to be without him, Clint, for an extended period of time. What do they do? Well, what they're doing kind of is working, but also kind of isn't working because the bottom
Starting point is 00:18:33 of the lineup is sort of figuring some things out, even though he was like a smack dab dead middle of the lineup. And that's where there remains a whole. But third base is, with all due respect to the guys that are suiting up there, is offensive. defensively a barren wasteland for this team. Wow. Listen, these are guys, these are professional men that are rolling out there, but they're, they're slashing.
Starting point is 00:18:58 Aaron wasteland. They're hitting about a buck 50. It's a little bit of a problem. I'm not the most excited about Kevin Bigeo there. Kike Hernandez, I'm sorry, you know, the dancing and the smiles is fun, but I also need some doubles in there. But I'm just not seeing enough out of that third base spot. and if you're going to be without Muncie for the bare minimum another month,
Starting point is 00:19:20 but right now he's not swinging the bat. There's zero offensive baseball activity going on with him. He's getting his working on the field. He's trying to keep the arm loose, the legs moving, and all that kind of stuff. You know, he spoke with our friend David Vasay about that also last week, that maybe they're trying to do a little too much to keep him going, keeping him kind of in somewhat of game shape while keeping that oblique loose. the Dodgers have an abundance of opportunity to kind of let this ride itself out and not worry about it.
Starting point is 00:19:53 They got a big lead in the National League West. National League West is as bad as Dodgers third basement. Oh, throwing in another burn for no reason. Love you, Dodgers, you're our friends. But I do wonder if they might consider all of a sudden pivoting and being active on the trade market at third base. Do you think that's something they might try to do? and we talk so much about shortstop, some outfield. Do you think there could be a third basement in the future?
Starting point is 00:20:19 I do. I do think that there could be a new third basement in the future. I don't think that there's anything that Andrew Friedman won't try to do to shore up this squad. Again, if it's on the trade market, though, what are you given up for a rental third basement until the end of the season or until, you know, Max Muncie can come back? I don't think they're going to, they're not going to be willing to trade much in the farm system. I mean, or who we currently have on our, you know, 2640 man roster. But yes, I do think they need to shore up third.
Starting point is 00:20:45 I think they need to figure out more of the infield situation. And I do think we still need another front line starter. And again, I'll take an outfielder too. I mean, if I'm waving the magic wand, I'll take a quality, you know, corner outfielder. I'll take a third baseman. I'll take a front line starter, at least a third, you know, a third guy in your rotation. Yeah, I'll do that. Now, as much as we've crapped on third base and as much as we've crapped on the bottom part of the order,
Starting point is 00:21:10 there was a little bit of the surge in the bottom part of the order over the course of the weekend in that Angel series, I'll be at a two-game set with a weird off day on Sunday. But let's talk about that a little bit because we've crapped on them. So let's give the bottom part of the order a little bit of credit where credits do. Yeah, I would say one of the big X factors to the bottom of the lineup kind of figuring some things out, well, is an abundance of X factor. So it's not really an X, I guess. It's an X, Y, Z factor. But Chris Taylor mentioned it a little bit last week,
Starting point is 00:21:40 Kind of figuring some things out, rewarding Dave Roberts, rewarding the Dodgers front office for their patience to get through the early season struggles. But he is hitting 455 with an OPS near 1,500 over the last week and change. He's got a triple in there. He talked about his really awkward dance and the little, like, hip lock thing they do. He's got a homer in there. Chris Taylor figuring some things out while, you know, Kevin Vigio, again, with all due respect, Kike Hernandez, not doing too much offensively.
Starting point is 00:22:14 Chris Taylor kind of coming out of it is a massive boost to this roster. And I will argue this is an X factor. One silver lining, we'll kind of call it, with mooky bets going down with the injury, is it opened up some more opportunity for Miguel Vargas, who is absolutely running with it, playing against left-handed pitchers and hitting 500 with an OPS near 1,200 since returning from AAA. So Vargas and a couple of those guys piecing some things together at the bottom of the lineup is very fun. And as we know, Alana, whenever Miguel Rojas is in the lineup.
Starting point is 00:22:53 They're 22 and O, bro, 22 and O. The Dodgers are undefeated when Miguel Rojas, your boy, your future groom, gets a hit. By the way, you were talking about Miguel Vargas against lefties. The Dodgers in general, with the exception, I guess, of Shohei when it comes against lefties. The doctors in general are pretty good against Southpaws. Major League Baseball, they lead it as far as OPS against lefties with an 820 Ops against lefties this season. That's more than 30 points ahead of the next closest team, which happens to be the Minnesota Twins. Again, Shohei, 509 slug against lefties.
Starting point is 00:23:28 Oh, here we go. Sammy Boy Smith, Lipsius at third, JT. Yeah, I'd love to have Justin Turner back. I mean, I know that JT is a DH with the Toronto Blue Jays who are going absolutely nowhere. But by the way, Emmanuel Class A was thrown 101 yesterday, and J.T. had a base hit right up the middle. So he still got it. Clint wants Ryan McMahon. I mean, he's really good defensively. McMahon's phenomenal defensively. So who would you rather have? McMahon, who's a little proven? Or Lipsius, your boy, that's second in line after Miguel Rojas and your lung language.
Starting point is 00:24:00 Well, if it's those two options, I'm going McMahon in a heartbeat, but we all know there's one MLB owner that is dumber than Artie Moreno, that is Dick Monfort of the Cockpital Rockies, who I know, I'm just, I'm calling names right now. I'm holding nothing back today. But he had the opportunity to trade Nolan Aeronado to the Dodgers a couple years ago for a better package than he got from the St. Louis Cardinals. and he didn't want to trade in division with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Starting point is 00:24:33 So Ryan McMahon is probably not in the realm of reality. However, McMahon, what I do love about that is we know at some point in time, Max Muncie is going to return. So if you trade for somebody like McMahon, you kind of, you back yourself into a little bit of corner. Where are you going to play this guy afterwards? I did not mention Gavin Lux, who credit to him, got a homer on set. during Saturday's game, his first Homer in, what was it, 28 days or something like that, 28 games, 32 games.
Starting point is 00:25:06 McMahon can also play some second base. So if Muncie comes back, you give yourself the word Dave Roberts loves gives yourself some optionality to fill in at that second base position. Even Max Muncie could maybe slide over to second base. It's a position he's told us over the course of his career that he prefers to play. So McMahon, a perfect trade target. I don't think they go that route. So is it patchwork then until Muncie comes back?
Starting point is 00:25:32 Kind of. Or do they go get somebody? Because, I mean, the trade deadline is over a month away. Is Muncie back before then or not? No. So bare minimum, he's out until about All-Star Break. But if he's not doing any activity now and he's been out already for month. Is that what September?
Starting point is 00:25:48 Yeah, I think August, mid-Mid August is probably a target. But again, we've mentioned it before. You've said it a few times with those obliques. Something could pop on them again. and then he's 100% done for the season. So I do think they need somebody that can boost that bench. And this was something we talked about on my channel over the weekend. Somebody that can boost that bench,
Starting point is 00:26:10 but also maybe play some second, play some third, shortstop in a pinch, and then they'll be in a happy spot. One name, all right, so this one buyer sell, I'm very curious, but one name my friend Kevin, producer Kevin on my show brought up was Alex Bregman. of the Astros. What do you think of the- I mean, that's a great,
Starting point is 00:26:33 you know what, that's a great question because Alex Spregman is in a walk year, right? Like he's a free agent after this season. They locked up Jose Altovae, the Astros did for, he's, Jose is an Astro for the rest of his life, okay? He's gonna finish his career there. I don't think Houston's gonna sell, but if you wanted to think, okay,
Starting point is 00:26:51 because they're starting to surge a little bit, those pesky little Astros, they're surging. Again, if by All-Star break, or excuse me, if by the trade deadline, they're reeling again, perhaps, because I don't think, I think if they were going to sign Alex Breggman to an extension, they would have done so already the same time that they did Jose Altuve. So that's an option. That's an option. I know Dodger fans, every time you hear Houston, you think of 2017, but you guys, we have to move on. We have to move on from 2017. As much as I don't want to, Sammy Boyd Smith is really into this idea.
Starting point is 00:27:24 About 79 throw-up emojis about getting Alex Breggman as a Dodger. but he is a hell of a third baseman trash trows. I get it, Diane. We've got to move on, the love. We've got to move on from 2017. I mean, listen, but I don't think they're going to sell because I think that they're surging enough. And I don't think, I don't think Jim Crane is going to part ways with Alex Brickman. I just don't.
Starting point is 00:27:45 I like the idea. I'm not opposed to it. I just don't think that their owner will allow it. Before we move on, as we have about, what, seven, eight minutes left in our show, we cannot discount the job that Tyler Glass now did once. again for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He is a bona fide ace. Now again, last season, Clint, 120 innings total. I believe after this last outing, he's about at 100 innings, right? So two more outings, and he's probably going to surpass what he did all of 2023. I'm sure that the physical therapists and the training staff and everything is, they're watching him. They're
Starting point is 00:28:20 making sure he's getting his veggies, drinking that milk. Is that always in your mind? Is 120 in your mind? Chase Utley, by the way, not a fan of the milk comment there. He's dairy free. He's very good. Very dearly. I feel I was more worried about the innings entering this season than I am now. At least that's my kind of hot take on it. It's not really a hot take. This is my gut feeling on it. Not Max Muncie. Sorry. Tyler Glasnow is a grown-ass adult boy. He's a star of such films as Oppenheimer and et cetera. He, I think the Dodgers are doing enough to kind of still give him some time in between starts, you know, pull him early enough if there have been some stressful innings. So him being at about 100 right now, I think he just hit 100 right on the dot first pitcher in the National League to hit the century mark when it comes to innings pitched.
Starting point is 00:29:18 I'm not worried about it. I'm not worried about it. I think they're going to be somewhere around still try to keep him somewhere around one, to 190 and you know he's ready to let it eat through through the postseason but he's got it all new elbow you know he's feeling good he's feeling fresh feeling frog he got the show flow going i think he's fine you worried about it uh i'm not worried i just feel like what what worries me more i'm not worried about glasnow what i'm worried about is if something does happen to him then i'm then i'm worried because then i think we're i'm looking at something really quick hold on a second i'm looking at the amount of he threw that da da da da Where are you? Gladzna. He threw 74 pitches. They pulled him after 74 pitches. 51 of those were for strikes. So they are watching it a little bit. I mean, he had a great outing. I mean, he shoved for seven innings. But if something happens to him, mercy. Okay? Because you have Yamamoto on the shelf. Kershaw's not back yet. Bueller's not himself. And by the way, we can talk a little bit about that. Dave Roberts saying that perhaps they're still deciding what Walker Bueller's IL process is going to look. look like Dave Roberts, this is according to Jack Harris, by the way, he mentioned that the extra weight strength that Bueller put on this offseason might be impacting his mechanics. So again, Bueller wanted to put on some bulk, put on some strength to, you know, not get hurt again.
Starting point is 00:30:40 And perhaps that's affecting his mechanics. But back to Glasgow now for a hot second. I'm not worried about him in particular, but if anything were to happen to him, not even, I'm not even talking about innings limit. If he gets a hang nail, if he, you know, stubs his toe, where do we go from here? Our rotation is not as deep as I need it to be. No, and there are some concerns. You know, you mentioned the Bueller thing. They don't, we, there are, there's zero idea about what to do with Bueller right now outside of just give him a week or two blow and then kind of let him maybe mentally reset. By the way, the whole idea of the added weight. He had talked about this on some podcast he's a part of. He put on about 20 pounds, all things to help strengthen himself and hopefully keep the elbow intact for
Starting point is 00:31:22 longer than his first Tommy John lasted. But he's not really an option to immediately plug back in. Another guy, you know, we haven't really mentioned it, but Clayton Kershaw, he made his first start, his first rehab start last week, felt some soreness afterwards. So they might actually push back the rehab process there. And that just all of those add up to more concerns for the starting rotation. So yeah, if you do, you're already down those two guys. You're down, Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
Starting point is 00:31:51 If you lose glass now, you're in a really. real worry of her our world of hurt on you know provided it's just for a month or whatever i think they'll yeah i mean we got to have them back for for the postseason all of a sudden all of a sudden Gavin stone's your number two and again he's he's pitched really well i mean james paxton no disrespect to him he goes tonight obviously against the chicago white socks but like you're you're asking a lot from guys that don't have a shit ton of service time you're asking a lot from guys that are young that are you know still kind of making their way that don't have the experience that don't have that foundation to fall back on. And I don't like the fact that,
Starting point is 00:32:24 you know, Jack Harris also tweeting that as far as Roberts on what's next for Kirsch, it's going to be talking to him, talking to the training staff, seeing if he feels good to make it, he'll have to play catch tomorrow. This, of course, would have been yesterday. If he feels good, great. If he doesn't, we'll just keep kicking it down the road until he's ready. Yeah. And that's something you had already argued about too. Maybe they're trying to push him a little bit too soon, fine seeing him in later August or something like that. But, you know, if we're talking about Stone really being your number one and then James Paxson and then Bobby Miller and after that, what, Landon Nack? Yeah, that would be a problem. If Flasnau goes down and Stone is your number one, then I'm,
Starting point is 00:33:02 then I'm starting to like, you know, warm up the right arm there because that does, that makes me nervous. Like we just don't, we don't have the depth. If you look at the other National League teams, we don't have the depth. By the way, the Phillies, let's say we, let's say we face the Phillies in in the postseason, which is, which is likely, right? They're number one, two, and three lead the National League in ERA. Suarez, Christopher Sanchez, and Wheeler. They lead the ERA in the National League. That's three in their rotation.
Starting point is 00:33:31 And you're not even mentioning Nola. Yeah, those guys are those guys are dudes this year. It's pretty impressive to watch. Should be an L.A. You know, it's like, I need, I need health. I need length. I need all the things. I need all of the things.
Starting point is 00:33:46 Hello, hello, I'm Malcolm Gladwell, host of the podcast Smart Talks with IBM. I recently sat down with IBM's chairman and CEO, Arvin Krishna. And I asked him, how can companies use AI to its fullest potential to create smarter business? My one advice to them, pick areas you can scale. Don't pick the shiny little toys on the side. For example. If anybody has more than 10%, you know, of what they had for customer service 10 years ago,
Starting point is 00:34:20 they're already five years behind. If anybody is not using AI to make their developers who write software 30% more productive today, with the goal of being 70% more productive, so we are not asking our clients to be the first experiment on it. We say, you can leverage what we did. We're happy to bring out all our learnings, including what needs to change in the process,
Starting point is 00:34:46 because the biggest change is not technology, is getting people to accept that there's a different way to do things. By the way, foul territory, we're on the road soon, the sixth and seventh in Chicago at a NASCAR event
Starting point is 00:39:40 before the race actually starts. So that being said, I was funny too. Over the course of the weekend, Clint, I went to Hardy on Friday, which is a country concert. And Scott was somewhere, some concert, some EDM concert. Like you could not have two different types of music between Scott Braun, my little brother and myself, Hardy and some electronic dance music bullshit that he listens to. Did you notice that the All Star results are out, the latest update? I did. I feel like, you know, the people listen to Ms. Rizzo here, getting the rocking the vote and getting to, Hey, Oscar Hernandez in that starting out.
Starting point is 00:40:18 Let's go. That's pretty cool to see. But where I'm really disappointed is Will Smith is third in catcher voting. That's a damn shame. That's a damn shame. People in Milwaukee are bored out of their ass, a stuffed ballad box getting $1.4 million, or dollars, sorry, votes for Wilson Contreras. Yeah, he's a good catcher or whatever.
Starting point is 00:40:42 But Will Smith, let's see some of those numbers because he is first. in, was it, fan graphs war. He's also first among catchers in baseball reference war, weighted, runs graded plus, OPS plus, homers, all these numbers expected, weighted on base average, which is totally a real thing, OPS. He's so damn good. Yeah. And he's third in the voting.
Starting point is 00:41:03 That's criminal, honestly. You know, I know a lot of this, I get it. It's a popularity contest. And A.J. Piersinski and I had this conversation, too, the other day. But I get it. But Will Smith is so unbelievably deserving. Dodgers fans do better. I mean, we have a massive fan base, an international fan base. We all have computers. We all have smartphones. Get out there and vote, y'all, because Will Smith
Starting point is 00:41:25 is unbelievably deserving of this award. It's not like we're just like, oh, he's a Dodger, vote him in. No, he's ridiculous. Look at the numbers. They prove to you that he deserves to be there. But I'm psyched to see Teosker there. Goodbye, Tatis. Tatis doesn't deserve to be in the starting spot in right field. He doesn't. I'm sorry. I'm not saying he's not a good player. Tayaskers meant more to this team than to tease junior has meant to the friars it is what it is i'm not disagreeing i'm not disagreeing at all what's on your show tonight you have a postgame show we are doing postgame by we i mean and people will be calling in leaving their voicemails for the show on uh usually it's monday over reactions when it comes to all dodgers on on mondays but it's going to be some post game reactions
Starting point is 00:42:11 and all that so call in leave your voicemail for people that are part of uh my patreon supporter and our YouTube member supporters, they get to call in and complain about things. So, Alana, maybe I'll throw you that number. You can call in and complain about the game. But yeah, right after the game, right after the final pitch where your Dodgers beat the lowly white socks. We'll be live.
Starting point is 00:42:30 They've struggled. I'd like to see Garrett Crochet or Fetty in the Dodgers rotation. That's a real bold. There's a reach for Alana right there. Listen, I'm not saying it's a reach, bro. I'm just saying like, let's go. That would be fun. That would be an insane addition.
Starting point is 00:42:47 There's your front line starter. Get our first look at future Dodger, Garrett Crochet tonight, guys. Oh, what's this? Scott, Ron. I'm still, no, no respect for Odessa, your electronic dance music at Madison Square Garden. It was fire. You could do it in your backyard and think it was fire.
Starting point is 00:43:04 Scott, you love that EDM junk that I don't understand, but I'm not young like you are. By the way, congrats, brother, on your partnership with valleys. You're making moves, and I'm proud of you. All right, that's going to do it for Dodgers territory. for Clint Paceas. Make sure you turn into all Dodgers with Clint tonight for his postgame.
