Consider talking to an oncologist about your treatment options.
Why?
Because knowing your options before you have surgery can help your care team develop a
treatment plan that's right for you.

and after surgery at ask before surgery.com.
That's ask before surgery.com.
And talk to an oncologist before your surgery.
Hit for contact, he can put the ball in play.
He uses the entire field.
He's not a power hitter, but that's okay.
I don't need a power hitter.
I need a really good defensive left fielder,
and that is Stephen Kwan.
See, look how happy we are when we actually win two in a row.
Welcome to Dodgers territory.
Terrible rendition of it.
What do you mean?
That's the, it was the exact notes.
What are you talking about?
Whatever.
We clearly feel a lot better after two wins in a row.
I don't care if you don't like my singing and my rendition of our open, okay?
Whatever.
Alana Rizzo, Clint Pesias, here with you.
It is Clint James Pesias.
I just found out that, I found that out recently.
We are here with you on our Dodgers territory post game.
Yes, Alex, winning cures everything.
You are absolutely right.
We have rattled off two wins in a row.
I love it.
I love it.
I love it. Guys, thanks for being here. This is awesome. Greatest five stars. Subscribe.
Like all the things. 10 stars. All the things. However many stars, do it, do it, do it.
Every one of them. Don't forget. Dodgers Territory Shop is open. It is abjito. So please make sure you click the store button on YouTube, support the show and style. We appreciate you guys very much.
Noah Ortega says Alana, even the dog is happy. Yes, my dog is happy. She's outside. And I have her outside.
it is a nice weather and she would be bothering me otherwise.
I mean, this is good, right?
Like, this is what you want to see.
We wondered Clint James.
That's always going to, I'm going to call you CJ from now on.
So, CJ, we wondered, like, if they were ever going to gain some traction.
And here's the thing, like, they're gaining a little bit of traction.
I'll take it.
I will take it.
Tyler Glass now on the hill, I will take it.
Well, I mean, for Class Now is maybe one of the areas you want to have a little bit of a conversation about.
I don't need to have a conversation.
Not that he's in any danger of losing his job or anything.
That's not the thing.
But he didn't have the best day of everybody in the ballpark wearing a Dodger uniform today.
I would argue the guy who had the best day today was William Dill Smith, has the go-ahead RBI in the ninth inning.
And then Alex Vesia locks it down for the save in the bottom of the ninth against the Sincereads,
who, of course, they're fighting for a wildcard spot.
So this is a very, very meaningful game for them and their momentum.
For us, it was, and the Dodgers, it was a very meaningful game for our hearts and our souls.
Two wins in a row. Is that a win streak, Riz?
You know, yes, it is. And did you, by any chance, did you have any sort of a little bit of heart,
like a hurt heart for Gavin Lux? Like, part of me was like, I still, I still, I like, I love Gavin.
And he tried so hard and like the trade was hard. Yeah, but, you know, he's also like a grown-up,
adult boy there in Sincere.
He kind of gets to be the man there in Sincy.
And, you know, it's always fun when you move and your friends come to town and you get
a single.
Is it fun, though?
Like, I think he'd rather be on the Dodgers.
Yeah, yeah, for sure.
My point is, good job, Dodgers.
Good job.
We're out a little lot to give us Freddie that little cup check as well, because that's what
boys do.
Boys, boys, boys, boys, boys.
You guys are weird.
Boys are weird.
You guys are weird and gross and dumb and gross.
Thank you.
Guys, hit that subscribe button for Alana Rizzo's hot takes here.
But everybody outside of Show Hey today doing more of the little things right in this ballgame.
And importantly for this Dodgers team, as we've seen them play throughout most of the month of July,
they're taking it, they took advantage, I should say, of the mistakes.
But so far I really like what we're seeing offensively from this team in these two games in Cincinnati.
I love Great American Ballpark.
It wakes everybody up.
Still plenty of room.
It's still plenty of room to improve, but taking some baby steps forward.
No, you need to do that, right?
We said this.
We've got to gain some traction.
This is an opportunity.
The Reds are still very much in the mix.
They're still in that wildcard hunt.
They're not laying down for the Dodgers, but this is a person, this is, excuse me,
this is a series in which, like, you needed to win.
And they did exactly what they needed to do, the first two games of this series.
And I can appreciate that very much.
You're right, though.
Like you're talking about Shohei Otani and somebody in our chat was just saying that it's like either does he feel right now that it's either is it the hot dog or is it the bun is it just new year does Otani either hit a solo bomber strikes out. I mean like let's like stop like it's it's pretty difficult to bag on our Tony. But yeah, today. Right now. That's okay. No. Right now. No. I'm not bagging on. It's not bagging. It's, you know, numbers and facts and statistics aren't bagging on him. It's just that right now that's what it is. He's a kind of two.
true outcomes kind of dude. It's either a homer or it's an out.
Not too much in between. That's something, you know,
Joe and Jessica kind of talked about a little bit yesterday.
In a game, they also won. So, I mean, I take ball games where Sho Hey isn't, you know,
putting the entire team on his back. How about you got Tommy Edmund, of course, before the game,
but yesterday after the game, we are hearing about this ankle continuing to bug him,
re-agravated in Boston, hits a two-run, Opo Taco, early in the game.
But how about Mookie?
bets four hits so far in the series a couple of walks couple of runs scored maybe finally i'm scared
to say is you know mooky's starting to find his way back but uh what's what's your pulse telling you
about mook i'm i'm thankful because i just feel like we have been not down on mooky but just honest
about mooky right like i'm not the same way that we're honest or you're honest about otani right now i'm
not super honest about otani i'm like he's the greatest all the time but like um you know you're you're
honest about o tani we've been honest about mookie and
nobody understands it more than Mookie himself, but he looks really good, right? He looks very,
very good right now. And I'm appreciative of that because I just hope that he's okay. And I'm sorry
for the loss of his stepfather. That's why he wasn't at the first game in Boston. His stepfather
passed away. He's been in his life since Mookie was in fourth grade. So I completely 1,000 billion
percent understand that. But it was good to see Mookie get back to his hitting ways. And I also feel,
again like I never am worried about this team in the long haul so what we're saying is
Otani no he's yeah he's human he's not human he's not he's an android all right how about this
we got a 499 super chat from our friend Richie Flores oh Richie Flores I love you buddy and it says
Otani went 0 for 5 with four punchout no it doesn't say Otani is obtain I can auto correct
I can self auto correct Stevie Wonder can't believe how many pitches he kept chasing
It's getting old, but we won.
I mean, he's not going to be, appreciate Richie for the super chat there.
He's not going to be perfect, you know.
Every day in, day out, Ryan Ars says the unicorn broke his horn.
I'm not worried about Shohei Otani at all.
Again, I'm happy to see the rest of the team doing things not relying on Shoah.
Wait on a second.
I have been really cropping all over Michael Conforto, and I need to say that Michael Conforto.
You have to keep it going.
Keep it going.
No.
Because if I keep shooting on him, then he's going to continue to play well.
Yeah, this is how the internet works.
Oh, is that what it is?
Listen, Riz, listen, you're on the internet.
You're on YouTube now, all right?
We have powers here on YouTube.
Here's the deal, though, honest to God.
I was ready, not even to ship him.
What is further than the moon?
Mars, Jupiter.
Sure.
Pluto's not a planet.
Well, it is back.
It's back as a planet now.
Is it back?
Breaking news.
It's been back to the planet.
Breaking news. Pluto is back.
No, Pluto and Kershaw's uncle have determined it is back as a planet.
But my point is I was like, all right, get him off the team.
But I have to say, Conforto has been very good the last four days.
So, Michael, I apologize.
Yeah.
I don't know that Michael Conforto is the answer.
I'm still looking for an outfielder that can hit.
But here's the deal.
Yeah.
Jenny Vega, I love you.
Jenny Vega, I love you.
Jenny's got some vibes.
She's got some good vibes.
All right.
So what's the you take?
We have an opportunity to sweep tomorrow, which is exactly what we expect the Los Angeles
Frick and Dodgers to do.
We expect them.
When is the last time we swept a series, by the way?
Come on.
Ask me.
Do you think I cover this team for like, I don't know about a living?
I do think you cover them for a living.
Cover them for a cup.
White socks.
You guys.
In the chat, somebody like in the chat that has access to the white socks.
it was white sucks when was that though
um july one
two three
two was
kurshine that was three weeks ago
yeah
it's been a while they've been bad
home run derby all star game
is somewhere in the middle of all of that
elisheba asking how about
alana bobblehead it's right over here now
it's right there by the way
so you guys listen to this
so I sent Clint I sent
CJ my boy I sent him
Alana Rizzo Bobble
head that was signed and an ice cube bobblehead that nobody could freaking get at the stadium.
I sent him both. He didn't even tell me he received them. You know how I found out that Clint
received him right now, right now. Right now. Yeah. You know, it's funny. I meant to text you and thank you.
Oh, did you mean to text me and say things? But I'm but a busy boy, you know, you only host one
Dodgers show, Alana. You only host one. Oh, what are you doing, hanging out with Jared Carabas last night
and another rain delay in Boston or whatever the hell happened?
God, how about that?
It was a 90-minute range.
I made it up to you.
I bought a Gidreys hat.
Oh, you did.
Thank you.
By the way, you guys, on baseballism.com, there is a line called the bow-wale line.
And 10% of the proceeds go to Gidreys.
So thank you, Clint.
But whatever, you should tell me you got the thing.
I'd be stroking and says, I need to get it together.
I apologize.
I will make sure.
You know, I don't want to bother you.
You know, we got Alana.
She goes to bed at like 430 my time on a non-post-game day.
but hey, let's talk about Glassnow real quick,
and then let's take a break,
and then let's talk about all the trade deadline things going on.
Tyler Glassnow, listen, it was very good up until the fourth inning,
ran into a little bit of a buzzsaw,
gave up the two homers, three runs in that inning,
couldn't do anything special in the fifth inning.
And I'm not worried at all about Tyler Glassnow.
I mean, Tyler Glassnow wasn't as crisp tonight
as we've seen him in his first three outings off of the IL.
And you know what I liked about him in the fifth inning
when he got into trouble and he left with bases loaded, I believe?
It almost looked like he was like, you know what?
Tonight's just not my night.
Maybe it was the humidity.
Maybe it was the heat and cincy.
But he was honest about how he felt.
Like he was like, okay.
I mean, he didn't really fight it, which I can appreciate.
Like you want somebody that's on it because you know he's a competitor.
First of all, gee, Stephen Q buzzed Alana's my, I'm not buzzed.
Does everyone, like, if I'm in a good mood, people assume I'm a drunk, which is annoying.
Am I always angry?
that why people think like that's annoying um you know whatever so i have no comment jack dryer comes in
and it was okay i just feel like i like this tyler glas now i do i think he's just i think he's
solid i think he's healthy i think he's back tonight not the greatest of outings but like i have
so much faith in glass going forward yeah he didn't necessarily have the the command the location
the punch as crisp as you said uh in this one as he had in his
his previous two, three outings coming off the IL.
But still, very good to have him around.
You know he's somebody that the Dodgers don't need to go out and trade for a Jack Flaherty
or trade for a starter at this deadline.
And that is, of course, very, very massive for this team.
We got another super chat from our friend Richie in divorce says he has the Alana Bumblehead
in his Dvor Man Cave.
I can confirm.
Richie, I have seen it.
All right.
Here's something right now.
Hang on a second.
Hold, please.
So I have this right here.
Oh, all right.
So I have an ice cube.
Uh-huh.
Genuine cube.
Uh-huh.
My internet stinks.
It's not internet.
It's your camera.
It's not a stink.
Yeah.
It's made the blur.
If there's anybody that did not get one of these that wants one of these.
Oh, wow.
I'm going to, like, let's do a little bit of a giveaway here.
How can, how can we, um,
Give our peeps.
This and an Alana Rizzo bobblehead signed, which nobody cares about.
People care about it.
I've heard, I have found out.
I've had a lot of people ask me to get the Alana bobblehead.
And I'm like, I'm not going to bug the lady.
I bug the lady enough.
No, no.
So I have one of my bobbleheads left that's signed by me and this.
I want to do a giveaway.
Let's figure this out.
Somebody put something in the chat of how we can do this and I will make it happen for you guys.
All right.
I don't think we're not trying to do it tonight, though, right?
We're trying to maybe do it Thursday.
Trade deadline.
Let's have a, let's have some sort of.
We'll have a conversation.
We'll have a conversation.
Brandon had a conversation a little bit ago, $2 super chat saying, can we give Vessia a two or three year contract?
Yeah, I love Vessian.
He has been far and away the best arm in that bullpen this year.
Just the consistency, the stuff, the veteran Pinoche that he has suddenly here in his fourth, you know, season with this team.
I love what we're seeing out of Alex Fessia.
Hey, he's about to get that dad's strength.
I don't know if that's going to be a good thing or a bad thing.
And the final thing, you and I or I was mostly laughing just before we went live because I was looking at.
Who won this game?
Oh, that's right.
It was Alexis Diaz, former Cincinnati Reds Great, who entered to a chorus of booze as Fernando brings up.
Francisco.
Francisco, are you related to Alexis and Edwin?
I mean, his last name is.
Diaz.
That's how all Diaz's are related to each other.
I did not say that.
I'm just asking.
Guys, we're going to take a break.
We'll be right back.
Nothing beats relaxing on a hot summer day and watching baseball.
And the simplest way to get in on the action is to download the pick six act from

Hello, hello, I'm Malcolm Gladwell,
host of the podcast Smart Talks with IBM.
I recently sat down with IBM's chairman and CEO, Arvin Krishna.
And I asked him,
how can companies use AI to its fullest potential
to create smarter business.
My one advice to them, pick areas you can scale.
Don't pick the shiny little toys on the side.
For example.
If anybody has more than 10% of what they had for customer service 10 years ago,
they're already five years behind it.
If anybody is not using AI to make their developers who write software
30% more productive today,
with the goal of being 70% more productive.
Yeah. Wow.
So we are not asking our clients
to be the first experiment on it.
We say, you can leverage what we did.
We're happy to bring out all our learnings,
including what needs to change in the process,
because the biggest change is not technology,
is getting people to accept
that there's a different way to do things.
To listen to the full conversation,
visit IBM.com slash smart talks.
All right, before we start talking trades and all that kind of stuff, guys.
Before the game, we saw Hesong Kim goes to the injured list.
And up comes top in-field prospect, Alex Freeland, a guy I've spoken about.
We've talked about here.
You've been talking about him for a minute.
Yeah, he's kind of ready.
He's kind of ready to go.
But didn't get in the game today.
Did not start in this game.
But I wanted to focus on the Heson Kim side of this because obviously Kim was one of those guys,
a lot of people, a lot of us were fighting for getting more playing time, put him in the starting
lineup. He got that opportunity, didn't work out all that hot. You wonder if it's the shoulder
thing that was bugging him. I don't know when the shoulder issue happened. He is on a plane,
or I'm assuming he's back here in L.A. already for an injection in that achy shoulder that's coming
from Dave Roberts. But you look at the numbers. The swing and miss. No, that's the thing. The
strikeouts are they went sagering yeah yeah i mean the numbers wise so through the end of june 30th he
was hitting 389 obviously he was never going to sustain that but 21 games in july a buck 93
ops just a hair over 400 and uh is is it is it all that shoulder is the shoulder forcing him to
kind of adjust or did was he just trying to do too much as the team was struggling i kind of feel
I mean, probably a combination, but I think trying to do too much led to a lot of his woes.
I don't know.
You were clamoring for him to play every day.
Because I wanted to see it.
I wanted to see it.
Well, he's had enough plate appearances now, right?
He's had enough.
Is it really a shoulder issue or is it really like you need to go back to AAA and figure the shit out?
You know, you need to rehab.
Mm-hmm.
And then you need to go figure it out.
Maybe he's really hurt.
I hope not.
But I just, I don't know.
Like, I just, I need.
the team that we thought we were going to get at the beginning of the year to be healthy.
I need to field a healthy team of people that are healthy that are proven.
Yeah, I mean, they're close.
Unfortunately, you know, we've had some some dudes just kind of not carrying their end of the bargain.
And the front office, they seem to believe they're buying in on the idea that your confortos,
your mukis, your taos are all going to come back.
as you've said, you know, kind of positively regress to the mean.
And I understand people are going to say, oh, that's a progression, but you don't say
progress to the mean.
Well, first of all, I'm not putting, I'm not putting Confordo in the same conversation as
Muky and task.
Okay.
It's fair.
Okay.
What are you doing?
That's fair.
Come on.
I'm just saying.
I don't like this.
All of those guys together, if they're playing better, would be, you know, better for the team is
what I'm wording at you about.
How do you, I mean, for the most part, their health?
How do you feel about this team right this second?
July 29th, two days away from the, two days away from the trade deadline.
Season ends today.
We're going to the postseason tomorrow.
How do you feel?
Postseason tomorrow is a different question, different story for sure.
But considering where we were at yesterday morning or yesterday afternoon, where I wasn't
mad, I was just disappointed, suddenly two wins later, I feel a lot better.
I think there is something in there.
I think the biggest thing is I can't answer that now question.
I need to see it in a week.
A week and change when Max Muncie comes back and gets back in that lineup.
That's going to be the biggest difference maker for me, maybe some other additions we could talk about next.
But I feel like they have pieces.
They have enough pieces.
It's still an incredibly talented ball club.
They just kind of need to continue pulling their heads out of their asses.
I don't think their heads have ever been in their asses respectfully.
I just feel like they've not going to.
All right.
So are we taking a break and then talking trade rumors?
I guess we can because that would be the smart place.
So guys, we will be right back.
Crath, at some point, we're going to laugh about how healthcare was so reactive and not proactive.
And we're starting to change that with superpower.
They believe every human has 100 plus year potential.
And they're here to help you get there.
I'm a big believer in this.
I just started the journey.
so I'm excited about it. And what do you think?
As a player, you're always looking ways to improve yourself, improve your health.
And this is an easy, easy way. Superpowers made it way easier than when I was playing.
You had to go get all these lab panels and it was a long, drawn out, expensive process.
But now it was superpower. So this is awesome for me. I'm excited about it.

I'm Malcolm Gladwell, host of
Smart Talks with IBM. I recently
spoke with IBM's new director of research,
Jake Mbeta. We discussed
his vision for the future
of quantum computing. At
IBM research, what we always
do is answer what is the future of computing, whether it's coming up with new algorithms,
coming up with better AI, coming up with quantum, or coming up with just how do different accelerators
go together. It's our DNA to answer the question of what is the future. Isn't it a perfect problem
for IBM because you kind of need to have a legacy of building stuff? Yes.
Building actual physical machines. Yeah, it's why I came to IBM. I wanted the experience
the culture of building hard things that others have not done before.
Where do you imagine we are in the timeline of this technology?
There will come a point when it will mature.
My cell phone is a mature technology at this point.
How far are we from that point with Conton?
By 2029, we'll build the first fault-tolerant quantum computer.
That is one that can run a very, very large, large problem.
To learn how IBM is building the future of computing, visit IBM.com slash quantum.
I'm pretty sure that is like a little mock-up character of foul producer, fair producer, Jeremy Meyer.
He might have just made himself.
Maybe, I think it's like Jeremy Meyer and Michael like slammed into one dude.
Yeah, yeah, I could see that.
Anyways, guys, let's talk a little bit of rumors.
It's about time.
We won't be live again until trade deadline day.
So we probably need to have a conversation about what our live show should look like.
We don't know until that day because Pal territory is all over the place.
Fair territory with Tanner Rosenthal and Me is all over the place.
So just like we're flying by the seat of our pants on Thursday.
That's trade deadline.
It is what it is.
Guys, subscribe, hit that notification.
We're going to be on.
But yeah, we're going to be on.
But it's going to be bananas.
To have a conflict of interest, I can promise you,
all Dodgers will be live two hours before the trade deadline and a half an hour after.
cares. Wow. Anyway, so he got some Stephen Kwan rumors. The guys, we're feeling. I would love that. I would love that.
Stephen Kwan is like that would be huge. Yeah, your, your co-host of a fair territory, Ken Rosenthal, today in the athletic article column place.
He mentioned the Dodgers being one of the teams that is, I don't know if it's kicking the tires.
but having a, quote, ton of interest in Stephen Kwan,
All-Star left-fielder.
And, yeah, I mean, if you're looking for a bat that can put bat to ball,
play a very good left field, has the vibes,
has some postseason moxie under his belt as well.
Kwan is very, very good.
I would love to add Stephen Kuan.
He's so unbelievably good defensively,
and he's also a guy that, obviously, he's a lead-off hitter,
so I don't know where he would fit in our lineup based on, you know, the structure of our lineup, the construct of our lineup.
But he's a guy that's, you know, he can hit for contact.
He can put the ball in play.
He uses the entire field.
He's not a power hitter, but that's okay.
I don't need a power hitter.
I need a really good defensive left fielder.
And that is Stephen Kwan.
And just let me clarify that it's not my show with Ken.
It's Ken's show that I'm on.
So let's just be very clear about that.
Stephen Kwan, I'm on massive.
Star of Fair Territory.
Massively on board with Stephen Kwan.
That would be great.
So if that means that Michael Conforto or James Outman are out, I love you guys,
but I'm taking Stephen Kwan.
All-Star, absolutely.
I mean, sorry, I'm in it to win it.
Hot take alert with those.
Are you even going to throw in Estuary Ruiz?
I can't wait until he's off the team just so I don't have to say his name.
He's a pinch runner.
Like, I feel like Estuary Ruiz is our pinch run.
or like you're not an air bro you're not what i what i like i i mentioned this yesterday on my
show and a little bit yesterday with you um um when we were live at noon my time but with like
i mentioned louis robert and i like the idea of lubob being that dude that can can create
competition with michael conforto because i don't think they're going to find a suitor for
michael conforto so if it's confordo and louis robert fighting for that fourth outfielder spot
or really fighting for playing time starting playing time
or whatever. I think having that sort of competition, it would be very good for that outfield
and for the team. Would you rather have Lou Bob?
No, I would.
Yeah. Oh, yeah, for sure. But, I mean, again, I don't think they'll be able to offload Michael
Conforto. And at the same time, dude is playing better for sure. But get me, get me Stephen Kwan.
Give me Stephen Kwan in a heartbeat.
A thousand percent. I would take Stephen Kwan yesterday. A thousand percent. All right, Pete Fairbanks.
So from Fabi and Ardaya, who does a great job covering the daughters for the athletic, also a colleague of our Ken Rosenthal.
It doesn't appear a deal as anywhere near close.
And there are a ton of suitors for the reliever services, but Fairbanks fits a type.
Clint, what is the type that Fairbanks fits?
Oh, God.
This dude is absolutely such a Dodger.
And I don't want to keep plugging all Dodgers.
First of all, the interviews are phenomenal.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
He's like Joe Kelly, but healthy, you know.
Something like that.
Maybe without the Chipotle.
Chipotle shout out, sponsor us.
But he is 100% of Dodger type.
He could pitch in the ninth, pitch in the eighth, pitch in the third if you need to,
give you a couple of innings, throws, you know, can manipulate a baseball any which way
has already works in Tampa Bay.
So he understands the analytics and the terms that they are using.
So he basically fits around in.
Andrew Friedman knows him super well, right?
from their time in Tampa Bay.
Like, I think that's a massive, massive bit.
Yeah, I mean, there should be.
I'm sure there's enough.
There's enough of a crossover.
That is a good point, good question there, or a good thing to bring up.
But I know a lot of teams are going to be in on somebody like Pete Fairbanks.
And, you know, Tampa is still kind of somewhat in the mix there with, in the AL Wildcard hunt.
I don't think they're very far out of it.
I don't have the, actually, I do have the numbers somewhere in front of me here.
I just got to find them and put,
grab the right mouse to scroll down but they are enough in the hunt to okay well two and a half
games behind in the wild card so do you would you want to get rid of your yeah i i don't think
pfairbanks as good of an addition as he would be i don't think that one happens i really don't
i think honestly this team could overwhelm to get anybody they could overwhelm to get stephen kwan
which i absolutely all right so all right stephen kwan or harrison bader who do you want
Kwan,000%
But this was another one
Katie Wu and Bob Nightingale
Both on it, Harrison Bader
I like Harrison Bader's makeup
I like the complexion of who
And I love Stephen Cohn as well
The eye black we see
Not even the eye black I'm just talking about the dude
I'm talking about the dude
Again Stephen Kwan
For sure
I think he would fit into the Dodgers clubhouse really well
But I also think Harrison Bader would
Harrison Bader is Justin Turner
in the outfield.
Yeah, I can see that.
I mean, he gives him a little bit of flexibility.
He's a ball player.
He's a grinder.
So not that Kike is old, but he's kind of just like a different flavor of Akke Hernandez.
Like he's not as crazy, but he's wiry.
And that is something that is good.
I do think Harrison Bader is going to end up being the guy they get.
I'm not thrilled about it.
But I do think.
First of all, why do you think that's the guy that they're going to get?
And why are you not thrilled about it?
Just gut,
instinct. I don't know. I'm not, he doesn't, he's a needle mover. I think the important thing is
I need to always remind myself that it is an improvement over James Outman and Estuary Ruiz on the
current active roster because both of, I said him. Conforto. Conforto would go to the bench immediately
if he's not traded, but Conforto would go to the bench immediately as, you know, Bader takes over and left,
or takes over in center and you fix kind of that alignment,
that the outfield defense issues.
Yeah, but the gut just tells me this is the most likely option right now.
Minnesota has a number of relievers,
and we know in an ideal world,
if Andrew was trading with the team,
he wants multiple pieces back.
It's not going to be Yohan Duran despite Hug Watch tonight.
He's not going to be him.
Yon Hsner-N's not getting traded.
No.
He's not.
But Griffin Jacks is one of those guys.
How about old friend, Brock Stewart?
There's a name for you.
He's been nails for the last couple of years.
He has.
Beef's been good.
Yeah.
He's been good.
I don't know.
I just, I think that's going to, that ends up being the angle they go.
I think Dodgers in Minnesota finally make enough sense.
The Twinkies are out of it right now.
I mean, five games behind in the wild card at the moment.
Maybe it's worse because I haven't hit refresh.
But Cole, same.
I kind of feel like this as well.
Bader is not necessarily a needle mover.
It's not, it moves a needle.
Because, again, you need to think of it as improvements over Outman and Ruiz on the active roster right now.
And that is 100% how I think of it.
But, I mean, we'll see.
I'm definitely wrong.
I'm definitely wrong.
But I don't know.
But I wouldn't be happy with either of those.
I would be happy with Juan.
I would be happy with Bader.
I would be happy with an addition.
Sure.
The other day you asked me on our show,
and you're like,
what are the things that you absolutely need to have at the deadline?
I said an outfielder that can hit another bullpen arm,
and Dustin made of the bullpen.
So whether it's Stephen Kwan or Harrison Bader,
I would take either one of those dudes.
I'd be fine with that.
How about this one?
So this was a little bit of a hypothetical here.
The backstory to the one of the tweet I'm about to put up is we saw earlier this week the Yankees having some interest in Dustin May.
How about that that was actually true, but okay.
Is it not?
Well, I mean, some sports illustrated dude.
I don't really know who it was.
But anyways, there was the fund of one of our foul interns.
And he also helps us here on Dodgers territory.
This is Henry?
Oh, Henry.
Great.
I love Henry.
Okay.
So Henry had put this tweet up on the internet machine, and I kind of liked it because what's funny is unironically,
Cody Bellinger would be a pretty damn good fit for this Dodger thing right now.
An unbelievable edition, but it would implode as soon as he walked into the clubhouse.
You think so.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
There's just sometimes like you just can't go back, right?
Sometimes you just can't go home.
You know what I mean?
Like it was when Cody was here, obviously as an MVP and what an unbelievable run he had as a Dodger,
but things went sour and there's just sometimes like you can't you can't reinvent that or you can't
like recapture that magic like I just don't think like he needed to go away like sometimes
you just have to like push the birds out of the nest you have to push your kids away and it's not
it's not necessarily the same when they come back like yeah that's the thing it's not the same
when they come back he's been out in the real world I love Cody but like I just don't think he'd
have the same impact if he can't.
I mean, he was, you know, like he went to the Cubs.
Now he's with the Yankees.
Like, I think it's just a better.
And I didn't think, I did not think Cody was going to do well in New York because
Cody doesn't like to speak.
Cody's just like in his own deal, you know, like, and if you play, if you play poorly in
in New York, you get crucified, but he's actually done really well there way better than I
thought he would.
I just don't like, yes, we all want to bring the band back together that we all loved when
everybody was here, like the Seekers and the bellies and the Kikaze and the Jocs and the JT's.
The things we would do, right?
The things I would do specifically to get Corey Seeger back.
Sure, sure, sure.
The other guy is not so much.
But like it's just, it's not, it's not that way anymore.
Like we can't put it all back together.
It's like when you start in marriage and you leave and you try to get back together, it's like,
it just, no, it just doesn't work.
No, this is like your, you're, your dumb 18 year old kid left the house thinking they're
going to be big shit.
And then they found out the real world
hits you in the face jackass.
You come back home.
You're like, tail between your legs.
You're like, I have laundry.
It needs to be done.
I'm sorry.
I wasn't listening before.
But that much aside.
But the difference is I don't think Cody wants to come back.
Oh, no.
Of course not.
Whereas like the parents are like, oh, come back.
Or he's probably like, me, I'm good.
Again, this is hypothetical.
It's not going to happen.
I don't think, you know, I mean,
If the Yankees are trying to trade to make their team better and they just lost Aaron Judge, they're not going to trade away, Cody Bellinger.
But I will pin this by saying I don't want Cody Bellinger back for the sake of hanging out with the boys again.
I am looking at a plus bat plus defense left-handed bat that is a potentially available outfielder.
That's kind of it.
I'm looking at him as a baseball part, not as...
As ironic as it would be to have Bellinger back and how much of that would make sense,
Bellinger will never be a Dodger again.
I agree.
It's not happening.
I agree.
100%.
It's not happening.
Breaking news, Cody Belanger, back with the Dodgers.
But guys, there's our conversation.
Do you guys remember also this was a post game?
The Dodgers won.
It was fun.
Oh, yeah.
Now we need to fix the team still, apparently.
Was it five to four?
five to four that's right dodgers win we all win when the dodgers win um go get your jumbo jacks or whatever you get uh chipotle feed us as well i don't have anything else to add i don't either you know what's crazy though is the next so we're basically into july 30th like for my time another hour and change and we're in july 30 so we're like 36 38 40 hours away from the trade deadline i feel like this trade deadline clint is going to be so
super duper boring yeah i feel like it's going to be like i think a lot of teams are going to stand pat
i don't think there's going to be i mean there's so many teams looking for the same stuff and you're
going to have to super much overpay and i don't think under freeman's going to want to do that
i think that it's going to be very yeah it's going to be bland i i agree i've been trying to set
people up for that.
Like kind of get folks ready for the idea that, yeah, the Dodgers might acquire a player or two.
They aren't going to be superstar, MVP, all-star types, not that that's what this team needs.
Yeah, it's going to be blah.
It's going to be bland or it's going to be crazy.
But, yeah, I kind of have the same feeling.
I've been telling people, just prepare to be underwhelmed.
Exactly.
Prepare to be underwhelmed.
Let's answer some of these questions here in our.
chat it says um so carl was saying oh Carl saying the trade deadline quality not that great
I agree I think everybody wants this same stuff there's too many teams that are like in the mix
so it's going to be difficult so Jason wants to know I'm curious how you all feel about Joe
Kelly as a low leverage revealer again reliever rather so it's like listen you said it was like
very low risk high reward if it happens right it's like he's not you're not going to sign him
to a massive deal if it works out great if it doesn't like no love lost it's no
skin off your back, correct?
No.
He did say he only wanted to pitch for the Dodgers.
He claims he's healthy.
Yeah, he's allegedly healthy.
Probably would need a couple of weeks to ramp up at, you know, in the minor leagues and all
that.
So really, by the time he maybe comes back, would come back and be healthy and available
to pitch for this team, you might have other bodies back, bruised arcadradorol.
Who else?
Maybe a River Ryan, maybe a Kyle Hurt, even though we're not.
We haven't heard as much about those type of dudes.
But to just be able to get yourself a pocket Joe Kelly and stash him away,
break in case of emergency sort of thing, it's literally going to cost you chump change.
You go out and make that move for somebody who's got 99 in his back pocket
and a nasty curveball that he loves to throw a billion times.
Kenneth was asking earlier, misspelling my name, which is all good.
I don't really care.
But what about Ramon Luriano?
No, Luriano is another one of those dudes I really like.
It's intriguing.
He hasn't played much center field of late over the last couple of years,
but he does have center field in his, you know, on his baseball reference,
plays the corners well, having a really good season in Baltimore.
I would have very little issue with the Ramon Luriano.
I would take Luriano over Harrison Bader for some reason.
Is this something?
Maybe it's the Cardinals thing for me.
Like, yeah, I understand Tommy Edmunds.
is, I think Harrison Bader is better than you think he is.
I really do.
Maybe I heard Yankees fans bitch too much from when he was a Yankee for
they bitch for everything.
They would throw Aaron Judge under the bus and a heartbeat.
They're booing Anthony Volpey today pretty harshly.
I mean, but he's been brutal.
He's been pretty bad.
Like he's been really bad.
14, a baseball leading 14th error at shortstop.
Glad we don't have that problem.
We got a good defensive shortstop, by the way, in Mookie.
bets. But anything else you wanted to hit? Kenneth says, sorry, I'm drunk, bite me,
because he called me client. Hey, listen, at least Kenneth is honest. God bless you, Kenneth,
we love you. No, that's it. We're back on Thursday. We don't know, cheers. We don't know
when we're back on Thursday. Like hit like, subscribe, all the things, get the notifications,
because trade deadline is Thursday, and it's going to be bananas. Like fair territories all over the
place with Ken, Vowel territories all over the place, and then call.
Clint and I will be on after the trade deadline is over.
And we have such a ton of stuff to talk about.
So you guys, thanks for being here.
We appreciate you very much.
Like, subscribe, all the things.
I don't know.

All right.
