Starting point is 00:02:15 That is Clint Paseous. We are your host for this special postgame edition of DT. Katie Wu is in the clubhouse with the Dodgers in San Francisco after taking the win. We'll take it. I tell you what we're going to have a lot to talk about. Tyler Glass now was absolutely wonderful. But before we get into that, let's talk about the fact that we need you guys. Please rate us five stars.
Starting point is 00:02:38 Like and subscribe to Dodgers territory, our podcast on Apple, Spotify, wherever you get your pods, guys. We're trying to get to 20,000 subs. And by the way, we have a DT Dodgers Territory members club now. It's brand new. It's $3.99 per month. It gets you a little bit of a different edge. A little bit of a different access point, if you will.
Starting point is 00:02:59 There's different badges, loyalty badges, custom emojis, priority replies. But not only that, you know, we're going to have a little special things throughout the season for you guys. We're going to do some happy hour shows and those types of things. and you get discounts on the Dodger Territory Shop.com. So great to be with you guys. Clint and I are fired up. Katie will be back with us tomorrow. Big ticket.
Starting point is 00:03:23 Well, no big ticket. I want to talk about the members thing because you mentioned the happy hour, obviously last week, and we talked about it already this week. But last week, you and I decided to say, you know, F it, let's have a drink. And the people enjoyed it.
Starting point is 00:03:35 The people enjoyed that. We hadn't tied one on on the show for a little while. Not yet. Not this season. So what we would like to eventually do is when we hit a certain tier or a certain amount of members, probably 25 will make it official starting in May. When we hit 25 members, those members will be able to join us for a happy hour where me, you, Katie, will talk and people in the chat. We have questions. Just want to hang out.
Starting point is 00:03:59 That'll be a part of that. But enough about us. Talk about this damn baseball game because Dodgers finally won a baseball game. They did not get swept in San Francisco. Tyler Glasnow pitched like an ace. And that is the big, that is the big ticket moment. I know we don't have a big ticket right now, but the point is Tyler Glasnow is the big ticket moment.
Starting point is 00:04:21 He was unbelievable. I thought they might run him out there for a complete game shut up. They did not, but it was still eight scoreless innings, just gave up the one hit Clint, one walk, nine K's on a hundred and five pitches. It was absolutely beautiful. 69 strikes. I know you like that, my friend. He forced two double plays.
Starting point is 00:04:47 I love it. I mean, I just think that. The minimum. Like he was an ace. He was an ace today. Why do you think he was so effective today? I don't know. I think Bro is coming into his own a little bit more.
Starting point is 00:05:01 You know, last year he entered the season looking. at making some mechanical changes, some changes to his delivery. And I think he was at points fighting himself. And then, of course, spent a little bit of time on the injured list, getting himself healthy and sorted back to feeling right. This year, the point we're getting to here, this year, all through spring training and here in the first month and change of the season, he has said, I feel right.
Starting point is 00:05:28 I'm feeling good. My mechanics feel like they are in place. And he's able to just kind of let it eat. For the greater part, you're seeing him, hit the spots, hit the quadrants that he wants. You don't see the glove, whether it's Dalton or Will. You don't see the glove moving a lot. So I think him in lockstep with those catchers, they're just putting down great fingers. You mentioned looking in the rundown.
Starting point is 00:05:51 He went to the sinker a lot today. A lot. Nine punch, but also a lot of groundouts. I mentioned again, face one over the minimum. 40, I think it was 45 sinkers. I didn't see. I did. That was up.
Starting point is 00:06:02 I've ever, I for sure thought he was going to be done after seven innings. I mean, I really did too. I was surprised. I was walking back around like the like our living room area. And I was like, oh my God, he's out there again for the for the eighth inning. And I was like, is he going to throw him back out there for the ninth? And they didn't. But yeah, he was very sinker heavy today.
Starting point is 00:06:20 They were talking about that on the broadcast. And you know, whatever it is, that's going to work for you in terms of your arsenal, rather you go for it. At that point, before he went back out for the eighth, it was already 45 sinkers thrown. it worked for him, 105 pitches. And you're like, what's 105 and what's another 10? It's like, well, it's April 23rd, right? Like maybe that he's not quite, but he looked great.
Starting point is 00:06:42 He really looked great. And this is what this club needed after the news of Edwin Diaz going on the IL, obviously. So it was like you want your starters to go deep into the game. It kind of resets the bullpen. Obviously, they're coming off of two losses. You did not want to get swept by the San, you don't want to get swept by anybody, but you don't want to get swept by the San Francisco Giants. who are not having a good year.
Starting point is 00:07:04 Logan Webb, their ace, has not pitched well, Clint. And you go into this game knowing that. And Logan Webb, who I have a lot of respect for, but he just has not pitched well. You take a look at some of the numbers as far as Logan Webb is concerned. Today versus L.A. 7 innings, seven hits, three runs, two walks, Clint, five strikeouts. But on this season, now at 486, went down from 5.10 as far as the ERA.
Starting point is 00:07:31 He's allowed three earned runs. or more, Clint, in five of his six starts this year. That is not Logan Webb baseball. His 37 innings pitched, lead the National League innings pitched three of the last seasons. He pitches a lot. He goes out there. He takes the ball. He is their ace, but he is not pitching ace like, and he knows it too. In Logan Webb's defense, he said it the other day, I was watching a postgame interview with him for the Giants. And he was like, I just feel like I'm not giving my team a chance to when I feel like I'm hurting my team. And I and I'm paraphrasing. I don't know that I don't know that's exactly what he said, but something to that effect. So you have a poor Logan web start.
Starting point is 00:08:13 You have a phenomenal Tyler Glasnow start and you come out with a three to nothing victory on the final game of the series and you have a happy flight and there you have it. And again, it resets the whole bullpen. It gives you that confidence. Now Glasnow is three and oh on the season, my friend. He has a 245 ERA and the save for Tanner Scott now that Edwin Diaz is on the IL the first save of the season and Tanner Scott has an ERA under 1 at 0.84 I will take that sir yeah Tanner Scott has been really really good and I got neo logan logan webb's numbers on the screen here uh this was by far as I think by far I haven't looked at all of his numbers but one of his better starts of the year just giving up the three earned over seven inning so he's starting to find himself a little bit more as well
Starting point is 00:09:02 most likely, but hey, we talk about the Dodgers here, Tanner Scott. We knew he would be most likely to get the, be the guy to get the lion's sheriff saves while Edwin Diaz sidelined with that elbow, which we haven't talked about here. We'll talk more about it tomorrow when Katie joins us at noon o'clock Pacific, 3 p.m. Eastern here on Dodgers territory YouTube channel, but Tanner Scott looked good. He did his job, and you're seeing a different version.
Starting point is 00:09:28 You're seeing a version of Tanner Scott, the guy that we thought they were signing a year. year ago. He's he's he has location again. He has the ability to, uh, not just throw the ball down the middle of the plate and hope for the best. He's, he's finding some quadrants as well. And that's going to go a long way in making him and Dodgers fans happy. You mentioned the stats as well. Again, overall, he has just been great this season. I'll, I'll work on pulling those up on the side. If you want to add anything else, retember Scott. Isn't that the whole point of what we talked about Clint Pisces is that this was an opportunity after such a crappy year for Tanner
Starting point is 00:10:05 Scott last year after they gave him the big contract and we had so many expectations for him and he did not perform to our expectations and certainly more importantly he did not perform to his or the team's expectations. We came into this season. We said we had to give him flowers when it was due because so far he's looked really good and this is the whole point. This is the opportunity for him to be able to redeem the production or lack thereof from the 2025 season. He's actually performing to the expectation. And that's something that you want to see. And now it's going to be magnified because Edwin Diaz is on the shelf for an extended
Starting point is 00:10:45 period of time. We don't know exactly how long that's going to be. I know we won the off season with him. It doesn't matter if he's not, as you said, but it doesn't matter if he can't perform. But this is where Tanner Scott can prove that the Dodgers did not. make a mistake. And moreover, that the Dodgers are right in having confidence in him to take the ball in the ninth inning because I realize there's 27 outs, but the last three are the hardest. I don't care what anybody says. And this is a good opportunity for him to continue to do what he's
Starting point is 00:11:17 done so far in 2006, but elevate himself again to that closer type of status. Do I want Edwin Dia's back? Of course. Is Edwin Diaz's a better? closer than Tanner Scott, obviously. But in Edwin Diaz's absence, these guys, it's so cliche, are going to have to step up. And Tanner Scott to this point has shown that he's had a better year already in 25 games or whatever it is so far, not 25 appearances for him, but in 25 games, obviously, then he did all of last season. And I'm excited about that possibility for him.
Starting point is 00:11:53 Yeah. Again, Dodgers are a better team when they have Tanner Scott feeling right. along with you saw Alex Fescia throwing a lot in the bullpen just in case they decided to pull that lever you know the first sign of distress for Tyler Glasnow but Glasna said no if you I'm good I got this bro and this these are the type of games the most ideal version of a game that you want is this version where your starter is going seven or eight innings and one guy is able to come in and and sweep things up you know close the door essentially because uh we'll say close the refrigerator
Starting point is 00:12:28 or because the butter is already hard. Jellos, jiggling and all that kind of stuff to steal from the great chick Hearn. But guys, we have more things to talk about. Go ahead and jump into the chat. I'm already seeing people in the chat with some things that they want to get off their chest, positive things, and probably some negative because Dodgers did not have a great road trip. But before we get in all that, we got to tell you about seat geek.
Starting point is 00:12:51 So we're going to do that now. You know, the Dodgers are coming home. home. They're going to the game, right? You're trying to go to a Cubs game. Yeah, yeah. I'm trying to get more people to join me going out for Sunday's game. So catch me outside, cash me at the Dodger game. But of course, I try to get some tickets. I'm over here on the Seatkeek. It's suggesting to me, Usher and Chris Brown, I guess they're in town at SoFi. But I care about the Dodgers at what we call the Neek here, formerly known as Dodger Stadium. Seatkeek is great. You can get it on your phone. You could look at the green bubbles and all that kind of stuff.
Starting point is 00:13:28 You could tell them more about that. I'll tell them with over 35 million downloads. Sea Geek is the number one ticketing app on the internet in the world right there. So get yourself tickets to a Dodger game, Lakers playoffs, concerts, festivals, and more. Yeah, I'm not trying to do Usher and Chris Brown, but I am trying to go to any Morgan Wallin concert I can. And Sea Geek is the place to be. Look for the green dots, you guys, because that's when you know if it is a good seat or a bad seat. Green means good. It's pretty simple, right? Green means good, red means bad. Every ticket is backed by their buyer guarantee. And of course, we have a code for you guys. You support us. We support you. You can use code Territory 10 and 10% off your next set of tickets at Seek. That's 10% off any tickets, concerts, festivals, games, all the things with promo code Territory 10. Make sure you click the link in the description to download the app and have the code automatically added to your account. So you,
Starting point is 00:14:25 can use it later, the official ticket marketplace of MLB all season long. Thank you. Seekeke. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Thank you, see, we appreciate you guys very much. All right, talking about Dodgers again, right? Before we continue, a quick reminder to check out Dodgers Territory Shop.com for some cool stuff.
Starting point is 00:14:46 New stuff added to. We still need to update this graphic, but there's onesies, there's golf balls, there's all kinds of different things. We appreciate you guys supporting us. So you support myself, you support Clint, you support Katie, you support daughter's territory, you support foul territory, all of the things. All right. So a couple of other things.
Starting point is 00:15:03 We did not talk about this, Clint, because it happened after our show. But when Edwin Diaz, and again, it was like, oh, it's a knee issue and all these things, right? We know I'd love the daughters, and I do. And I love them to death. But for the love of God, be honest sometimes about injuries. It was not a knee. He has loose bodies in his elbow. So then I was like, oh, shit, what does that mean?
Starting point is 00:15:24 right? Like I've heard that a lot of time. So I asked my husband, who was a major league catcher for 14 years. I'm like, what does that mean? Is that like extended and all the stuff? He's like, no, they just got to clean it out. It's not TJ. It's not that long. But they do got to clean out his elbow, right? So how did this happen? I don't know. But what was your reaction after I sent you the text that I was like, what the F? Edwin Diaz on the IL loose bodies go. Yeah, yeah. You know, it's one of those things where immediately Honestly, I think I had more relief knowing that I think a knee is worse. I think if there's inflammation, there's not like a clear, obvious root cause. If there are loose bodies in there, there's immediate red flag. This is why he's throwing not even fastballs. This is why he's throwing slow balls at 92, 93. It tells you something ain't right in there.
Starting point is 00:16:18 They like to say the Dodgers were saying, of course, we'll get more of Katie's opinion about this tomorrow, but they're saying that, oh, we didn't hear anything about this up until it started barking on him on whatever day it was over the weekend. I call bull on that. I 100% call bullshit on that. There's a reason he was down for eight days, and it wasn't the knee. That's just what they were saying because everybody's going to point to the knee. They had some sort of general concern about the elbow, and they were probably hoping it was a pain tolerance thing. And ultimately, the elbow and those bone chips,
Starting point is 00:16:52 in there. He didn't feel comfortable letting it eat. So they're like, all right, let's get this cleaned up now. I would rather happen on, you know, 420 than 920, which is about when the surgery happened. So it's a, it's a best case scenario. And like your husband is saying, you know, it's not a terrible, there are worst injuries to have. It's very minor, you know, minorly invasive. I'm surprised. I don't know about you. I was kind of surprised, though. They're saying like three months that feels like an amount of time to be cut open have a couple of things taken out sewn back up and then like go out there go have some fun you know i mean kurt schilling did it the next day with his damn ankle elbow would be different yeah that was that's a very that was
Starting point is 00:17:37 a very different time uh that was a very very very different time but here's a couple of things yeah three months seems like an eternity but again i would i would much rather that it be now versus later, although three months is a long time for your closer to be out. It's a three. It's a long time to ask the remaining bullpen guys to kind of fill that void with this carousel of ninth inning guys, right? But here's a good thing that Katie Wu had said earlier today. Blake Snell came out well from his first rehab start through one plus innings, 32 total pitches. Goal is to get him to five innings, 75 pitches before he's active. He'll make another start sometime next week. And while I understand that Blake Snell is not a bullpen arm.
Starting point is 00:18:19 I get that, people. Please don't blow me up. The point is if you get the starters that you're supposed to have that can go super deep into games, then you give your bullpen the reset and the break that it needs. And everybody can pitch in the inning and the order that they're supposed to. So I'm just trying to look at the positive, but I'm not going to lie and say that Edwin Dia is out for an extended period of time when we're talking about months versus weeks doesn't scare me. It does. It bothers me. I worry about that. Like, what does that mean?
Starting point is 00:18:52 Do we have enough? Sure. Did we have Edwin Diaz last year? No. Did we have Edwin Diaz two years ago when the bullpen saved this club? No. But it does, it is cause for concern when the guy that to me was the biggest free agent signing of anybody, regardless whether it was an arm or a position player, is on the IL for an extended period of time. Yeah, again, it's not ideal, but if you're finding a silver lining of when to have this injury and what kind of injury it is, this is kind of the most silver a lining can get.
Starting point is 00:19:27 And you would hope ideally there would be a couple more healthy bodies ready to go, whether it be a River Ryan, whether it be Gavin Stone, whether it be Brock Stewart, who's not too far behind. Or of course, you know, Blake's now, who's not too far behind himself. Before we move on, I wanted to get to the comments a little bit. We got D.A. Barakas saying, you don't throw with your ankle clean.
Starting point is 00:19:54 He's not wrong. Have you seen the video of that one guy who doesn't have arms? He was born without arms. He threw out a first pitch with his foot. I don't think that's what D.A. Baracus is talking about. God bless that. God bless that person. I'm protecting my integrity. That's your example.
Starting point is 00:20:13 Oh, my God. Well, technically. There was another person I saw. Where did you go? I really wanted to put this comment up, but it's, oh, here it is, Mr. Buda, saying I dealt with loose bodies in college, but that was fun. Yeah, but that was fun. This guy. Listen.
Starting point is 00:20:28 I saw that too. I was, hey, oh, I was trying to avoid that. But yeah, we get it. We get it, by the way. I got the buttons. You know we ain't avoiding that. All right. Let's talk about the lineup a little bit, though.
Starting point is 00:20:40 Yeah, so a lineup shit, a lot. They did. but it was a lineup shift today. Basically, just at the top of the lineup, Freddie Freeman was batting second. Kyle Tucker moves down to cleanup. The Dodgers trying to avoid the sweep, and this is what they did.
Starting point is 00:20:51 So it was Shohei, Freddie, Tay Oscar, Kyle, Max, Andy, Andy, Andy, Andy, Paz, Dalton Rushing, who's like on one right now, has sunk him, Alex Freeland, and then obviously Tyler Glasnan, who does not bat. But the point is it worked today. And Dave said it's going to be this way for the foreseeable future. What is your opinion on the lineup change? You know, we talked about this last night on my All Dodgers show, the idea of them considering changing the lineup.
Starting point is 00:21:19 And my thought was, I liked it. I didn't think Dave would pull this lever this soon. That feels more reactionary for Dave, but Kyle Tucker hasn't been hitting. And I think, tuck, more than anything, you know, the game was getting a little fast on him. And so moving from that two hole down to the cleanup hole, listen, I trust Dave, I would buy a used car from Dave Roberts. I trust that man deeply. It worked. Tuck went out there, dropped two hits.
Starting point is 00:21:49 I'm not saying that's because, you know, the lineup change. I'm not saying it's because Dave Roberts, you know, instilled some sort of confidence in and saying, hey, you're moving down to the cleanup hole. You get a lot of important at bats there. And you know what he did? Two hits. Score to run. It worked.
Starting point is 00:22:06 It worked while. And this was probably what we're going to see while Mookie remains out. Yeah, that's a huge, that's a huge blow, not having Mookiee in there. You know, Otani's not hitting me. Otani's not hitting me. Hold on, I want to say, think of how good they still have been. We're looking at a 17 and 18, but a team that doesn't have Mookie bets in the lineup. It's a really good baseball team.
Starting point is 00:22:28 Anyways, go ahead. Sorry. No question, but no one's going to feel sorry for the Dodgers because Mookie's on the IL and Kyle's not hitting. And Otani's not hitting either. And as much as we give Otani flowers, as we should, we should also discuss. us when Otani isn't hitting. And he does go through spurts.
Starting point is 00:22:46 Like, I get it. But like, what are you noticing? You're better at breaking down at bats than I am. I'm fine to admit that. I'll never admit anything else. But like, what is Otani doing that's not working for him? Because he is so magnified every time he takes the bat or the ball, obviously. So what's been going on with him in your opinion?
Starting point is 00:23:09 I'm kind of I'm kind of wondering if there is something to that hit by pitch. He took a hit by pitch off the shoulder a couple about a week and a half ago. But really to me, it looks like somebody who's who's just, he's not, he's not recognizing the ball right now. And him not recognizing the ball. He's not swinging at the right pitches or at the right time. The timing is a little bit off. And that's where you're seeing him late on some fast balls and kind of early on some breaking balls. it's the fastball.
Starting point is 00:23:40 This is a guy. This is a man that needs to attack a fastball. He needs to absolutely eat when the fastball is coming his way. And he's not there right now. So as soon as he gets that timing back, you're going to probably see him take some live VP at Dodger Stadium. Sorry, at the NIC tomorrow afternoon. You're going to see him out on the field,
Starting point is 00:23:58 either hitting tomorrow or on Saturday to try to find something to lock him in, just whatever that little key is, that little cue is that's going to get a swing going. And we're going to see Show Hay bouncing back. real soon. He does not, he does not, he does not ride these for very long. These slumps, he doesn't ride these for very long. No doubt. And I again, I never worry about him, nor do I ever worry about Mookie Betts. So when he comes back, that is fine. We do have to talk about it. That's what we do. All right, there's more to come, but first a word from our friends at Fowl territory. People, life is expensive. So you should start looking at things that are unnecessarily expensive
Starting point is 00:24:33 like your phone bill and say, is there a better option? Mint Mobile is a better option than if you have other companies, especially when you have kids like me and you have everybody and their brother on your family plan. Mint Mobile will give you a cheaper option with the same coverage. Yes, and some wireless bills are crazy with the bogus fees. And the free perks, they are not free perks. They cost you more in the long run. So just go to Mint Mobile. Check out what they have to offer.
Starting point is 00:25:00 All plans come with high-speed data and unlimited talking text delivered on the nation's largest 5G network. you like your money. MintMobile is for you. Shop plans at mintmobile.com slash territory. That's mintmobile.com slash territory. Up front payment of $45 for three-month five-gigabyte plan required, equivalent to $15 a month. New customer offer for first three months only, then full-price plan options available. Taxes and fees extra. See MintMobile for details. Now, I just wrapped up the roadie, Alana, not a winning road trip. It is a losing road trip. Would they go three and four on this roadie? Not what you want, but it was the best that they were able to do after losing the first two in San Francisco.
Starting point is 00:25:42 They return home and they are going to welcome the Chicago Cubs. There's a lot. What do you guys? I will say this, though. They come home still in first place. They were tied for first place with the San Diego Padres, but they have taken over the first place spot again, six and four in their last 10. It's not beautiful.
Starting point is 00:26:02 Fans expect 162 and O. That is not possible. They are now 17 and 8 with a 680 winning percentage. It is the best winning percentage. Certainly, well, that's not true. The Atlanta Braves have a better winning percentage. Second best winning percentage in the National League. And the second best in all of baseball, actually.
Starting point is 00:26:21 So San Diego is now 16 and 18. They're a half a game back of the Los Angeles daughters. But the point is, all you can do is when your division first, right? That's the first box that you want to check. But here come the Cubs. And I tell you what, they won their ninth straight. off of the heels, Clint Passeas, of handing it to the Phillies and the Mets, who I don't know what the hell is happening in the NL East, minus the Braves who are on fire right now. But the Phillies and the
Starting point is 00:26:46 Mets are garbage right now. So the Cubs are feeling pretty dang good about themselves. So please do not overlook this series. What say you? You know, I feel like I got a decent amount of blowback during our kind of NL competition series, because I was pretty high on two team i was high on the padres a lot of people didn't want them in the top five uh i was high on the podres and i was high on the cubs despite the fact that i didn't necessarily know or trust their bullpen the bullpen is pretty good they're their main guy their closer daniel palencia is down right now we saw him thrive in the world baseball classic but you have to wonder is this the phillies and the met's being really really bad yes or is it the cubs being pretty damn good a little bit of
Starting point is 00:27:31 yes i think i think it's both i think it's both i think it's fair to say that And that's okay. Like, that's okay. Like, I don't think that I, and I was not one that gave the Cubs credit. I was very much on the Phillies are the number one threat. The Mets are the second threat as far as the National League is concerned. And right now I'm totally wrong. Phillies are so bad right now.
Starting point is 00:27:53 But so are the Mets. So are the Mets. I think it feels to me like the Mets have, obviously this is a show for a different thing. They have more reasons. They, I don't know. The Phillies have better pitching. Zach Wheeler's coming back. they D or they release Taiwan Walker today.
Starting point is 00:28:08 Like they still, like I still have more faith, I guess, in the Mets or excuse me, in the Phillies than I do the Mets. And I will say this till I'm blue in the face and I've said it a thousand times. Money cannot buy you championships, you guys. The Mets have proven that. Like it gets you good players and it gets you a birth into the postseason, but it does not guarantee a championship. But you know what I like about money is this super chat from 80, oh, nearer, 9709, 10 bucks.
Starting point is 00:28:33 Here's to show hitting great again. in the next coming games. Yes, I appreciate you so very, very much. But that being said, Gabriel or Gabriel Gabriel. Gabriel, Gabriel, is not. Thank you, sweetheart. And that's all sure. But that's the thing. But that's the thing, right? Like, don't overlook these cubbies. And they're, they're feeling pretty damn good because they took down the Phillies. They took down the Mets. They're obviously going to want to take down Los Doyers. And obviously,
Starting point is 00:29:00 Craig Counsel's comments about us having the advantage because of show, you know what, mother effort and I love Craig counsel but you know what the whole thing for me is then you should have gone out and signed him then because nobody if he's on your team no one's complaining about that shit and nobody complained about it when he was an angel yeah it it is shove it i don't even know where it came up i didn't i didn't see the root like the question of why he brought it up i just think it sounded really pissy and whiny uh he's gonna get a lot of crap PCA's coming to dodger state it was gonna get a lot of shit as well i don't even think he'll but like i i think he's so insignificant in terms of like why fans are going to get upset.
Starting point is 00:29:36 And again, no disrespect to Craig counsel. I have a great amount of respect for him. But the whole thing of like, oh, it's unfair. Bro, if he was on your team, you wouldn't be saying that. And nobody bitched when he was an angel. And he was pitching and hitting. So I don't want to hear it. And there are, again, there are so many players that can hit and pitch.
Starting point is 00:29:53 Look at Kike Hernandez. I kid. Look at Miguel Rojas. But, but I mean, baseball, you know, this geriatric sport that is, you know, it's basically like looking at the Senate all these old ass men that are telling kids at the minor league level no no no you're gonna this is how
Starting point is 00:30:10 we did it back in my day you're only gonna hit and field your position I don't give a shit if you're a good pitcher and pitched in high school you're not show hey you're never gonna how many kids do you think are told like these days you're never going to be Shohei Otani maybe there are other people out there
Starting point is 00:30:26 maybe other teams other players can utilize this rule but like you said Riz. It's not a rule that's in place for the Los Angeles Dodgers. It was there for the Anaheim Angels. There is one Shohei Otani. And maybe, maybe the other, I'm not even going to say the other
Starting point is 00:30:43 29 clubs, because let's be honest, like, how many clubs can realistically offer a dude $700 million? I'm going to go with 20 other clubs. And the Cubs are one of them who could have signed Shohei. And they did not. Stupid argument, too, because there's other people
Starting point is 00:30:58 online who are, you know, lacking in brain cells and they talk about like, oh, they get an extra player or whatever. No, each team has 26 dudes. If you want to have your pitcher hit, go ahead. And you can choose to divvy up the 26 all you want. If you want, if you want 16 pitchers and 10 position players, more power to you. That is your choice, right? What is someone finally going to talk about?
Starting point is 00:31:22 We just did B.L. Boyd. No, this was earlier. But of the same. Our two-way player isn't even hitting right now. Exactly. So why are they getting on us? He stinks. Put him back in AAA. Get him, get him some ABs against AAA pitching. We're never, we're never going to get that Will Smith interview now. No, Will Smith is having, Will Smith's charity is having a comedy event coming up on May 7th. We are actively trying to get Big Willie style on the show so he can talk about that. Anyway, we appreciate, back on the show. We appreciate you.
Starting point is 00:31:58 He was our first interview. He was our spring training. No. Spring training. No. No. Yeah. Second or third episode of DT all time. He was on first. I mean, ever, like when we started three years ago. Oh, okay. I thought I meant the season. That's what matters.
