Starting point is 00:02:23 Great to be with you, Clint. Let's get into it. Let's do it. All right. So happy flight, right? On the way to me. On the way to me. The Dodgers on their way to Boston already here, obviously.
Starting point is 00:02:39 At least I know Vasay is already in Boston. He was already having dinner at an Italian joint in my town. Can't wait to see the boys. Can't wait to go to Fenway tomorrow and see them. But more importantly, they got a much needed victory yesterday, Clint, thanks to Frederick Freeman. What was your takeaway from yesterday's series finale against the twins? I'd say that's Frederick if you're nasty. But what a bipolar series. Obviously, we were live post-gaming on Tuesday. The vibes, we will say, were at kind of an all-time low at that point. But a day after Dave Roberts says, you know, the Dodgers are at kind of their rock bottom. Like you said, Freddie Freeman walks it off against the twins. You secure that series win for the Dodgers. You take two of three in the series the ugly way.
Starting point is 00:03:27 And I ask, is this maybe, I mean, there's a few good things. I want to talk about Glass Now. I want to talk about the overall health of the team and we'll get into that in today's show. But is this finally the spark this team needs? I don't know. Hi, Bruce Davis. He says, hi, Alana. Hi, Clint.
Starting point is 00:03:45 Hi, everyone. What's up? Buddy, thanks for being here. I don't know. I feel like we've been saying that a lot, right? Like, is this the spark? Is this the moment? Is this like, all they, you know, they need the break from the All-Star game.
Starting point is 00:03:54 And they didn't really play well coming out of the All-Star break. And, you know, I just feel like when you have a roster that is this talented, like, we shouldn't be searching for a spark. I understand Lolls. I get that. Remember what was it? What year was it 17 when they, like, lost 14 in a row or whatever it was? I just don't think that we should be.
Starting point is 00:04:14 be searching for that spark. This team is way too talented. That being said, we're going to get a big spark soon. And it has nothing to do with the trade deadline. But let's do talk about the positives. And that is Tyler Frickin Oppenheimer Glasnow. He has looked so flipping good, especially in his most recent outing. But really, Clint, the last three outings he's had since coming off the IL, Sonia Chen, who covers the team for MLB.com. This is her. her tweet seven innings three hits one earned run one walk it's the punchies you and i were talking about the punchies clint 12 k's on 106 pitches 69 of those for strikes that is the glas now that i had hoped the dodgers would sign yeah that's the guy that they traded for the guy that they
Starting point is 00:05:02 signed immediately or inked to that extension this is the dude they thought could be one of the aces co-aces for this ball club alongside you know they also add yoshinobu yamamoto last off season. And yeah, you're seeing this. You're seeing Glasnow on the bump. Shohey Otani getting better with each start in the starting rotation. Clayton Kershaw being good. Yamamoto still being in the Syong conversation. And Blake Snell, not too far away. Maybe there's some hope for this Dodgers team after all. You get the good vibes. You get the happy flight, a long flight to Boston. But a healthy and dominant Tyler Glasnow absolutely is a game changer. We should mention Snell, by the way. He's going back out on one should, should, could be
Starting point is 00:05:50 one more rehab assignment. And that kind of has, it's a pretty big effect on not only the starting rotation, but obviously the bullpen and to an effect, what this team does at the trade deadline. Well, that's just it, right? You and I were talking about that in our production meeting earlier today. And it's like, you said it best, you said nobody can sign Blake Snell besides the Dodgers, right? And it's not even like you have to go out and give anything away for them. We already have them. And it's going to be the biggest trade acquisition that's not a trade acquisition or a deadline acquisition, rather, because we already have them on the roster. And even if it's two more rehab outings, we are anticipating a return the first week of August.
Starting point is 00:06:28 And that is massive. What's up, Diane Schroeder? Great to be with you. Hi, Alana and Clint. I mean, this is something that's so cool to have Blake Snell back. And then again, that lends the question of what happens. Who's the odd man out as far as the starting rotation is concerned, Clint? And you and I both think, well, I look at it one of two ways.
Starting point is 00:06:48 And both to me seem like a liable possibility, a viable possibility. I think Dustin May goes to the bullpen, which I've been screaming for since before the season entered, before we started the season. Or Dustin May is involved in some sort of package to get some sort of other relieving core. I have thought Dustin May's stuff played in the bullpen really, really well. I think he's a really good, you know, two, three inning, bulk innings guy. And you said it best, he's a two-pitch pitcher. That doesn't play in the starting rotation. Have we seen the last of Dustin May in a Dodgers uniform?
Starting point is 00:07:26 That's a tough question. I mean, obviously, we talked about that a little bit on Tuesday with Dave Vasay's mention or his blurb on AM 570 radio that, you know, he, He kind of saw something with Dustin May that kind of lended itself to maybe that was his last time making a start in a Dodger uniform at Dodger Stadium. I still think, I mean, they've done this before. This team has done this before where they've traded away starters, like important pieces, guys that run, you know, they run out every week, every fifth day. So Dustin May is absolutely not safe in that regard. That said, I think it makes more sense for him to move.
Starting point is 00:08:07 the bullpen with the state of the bullpen. I'm seeing people in the chat mentioning, you know, Kirby Yates and his struggles, Tanner Scott, you still don't know how long he's going to be out. Dustin, Ben Casperius has struggled mightily over the last two months. He was so strong. You know, he got the, what did Dave call it? You know, kind of not an audition, but it should be a once-off for D-May in the bulk role behind Shohei Otani.
Starting point is 00:08:32 That could be his role. Put him out after Shohei every. But I mean, but so you just. just only use him every fifth day. So he becomes, in essence, he becomes a starting pitcher that's not a starter. I mean, I guess I could see, I could see a world in which that plays. But let me ask you this too. And you had, you and I again had talked about this. Like maybe, I mean, Justin May is going to be a free agent at the end of the season, right? So maybe he says, and I don't know, I've completely, this is just a conversation piece. I'm not suggesting that Dustin May said this
Starting point is 00:09:02 at all. But maybe Dustin May says, listen, I'm a starter, a Alex Wood. I am. not a bullpen guy. I do not want to be put in the bullpen because I want to showcase what I can do as a starter in the event that as a free agent, the Dodgers obviously don't bring him back, offer him and call, you know, bring him back or extend him to anything. And he goes into free agency and he wants to be a starter. But think about that for a second. Sometimes be careful what you wish for. Because remember, when Ross Stripling was bounced back and forth between the starting rotation and the bullpen, and Ross would have done anything for that club, his career did not go very well after he, left the Dodgers. And again, I'm not suggesting that Ross said anything like, I'm a starter. I only
Starting point is 00:09:41 want to be a starter that, you know, that type of thing. Think about the kid that just went from the Brewers. I'm a starter. What are you doing? And now he's with the freaking Chicago White Sox. So be careful what you wish for. Like you got to say, would I rather be in a bullpen role on a team that contends every single year? I know I'm going to the postseason. I'm going to get a playoff, share this, that, and the other thing. Or do I want to take a chance and end up being a starter on a team like the pirates or whatever. And again, I have no idea what the conversation has been. But I'm thinking, man, I think his stuff plays in the pen, put Dustin May in the pen that
Starting point is 00:10:17 kind of solves a relief arm issue. And it also obviously, you're going to do whatever you, I mean, Blake's nails in the rotation, period. So I don't know. What does he do? Yeah. On that conversation about maybe Dustin being like, listen, I really would love to start. I think that was sort of the conversation that Strip had with the team.
Starting point is 00:10:37 in 20. It's like, listen, if you can get me an opportunity to start somewhere, I'd appreciate it. Maybe not. I don't know. The Dodgers hadn't won a World Series up to that point. Dustin May has two rings now in his, you know, his collection that he had varying roles of, you know, playing a part of earning more so in 20 than in 24. But at this point in his career, what do you got? I just had a thought. Keep going. I just had a thought. But at this point in Dustin's career, he is a friend. free agent at the end of the year. He has been injured for the greater part of the last four seasons. He needs to use as much runway as possible in a starting role to go out and try to get himself
Starting point is 00:11:18 a maybe Walker Bueller-type deal in the off-season or two years, something like that. He is pitching for a contract this year. Almost guaranteed is not going to be coming from the Dodgers. And if he's moving to the bullpen with the Dodgers, like, yeah, you're hanging with the boys, you have the vibes, you might win another world series. But look at somebody like Brent Honeywell. He still doesn't have a job and he was a vibes dude for this team last year. Very different scenarios. But that's where I can see Dustin kind of having that.
Starting point is 00:11:50 Please, if you can find me a spot where I can stay in a starting rotation, even if it is with the pirates and David Bednar comes back in return. Wait a minute. Wait a minute. What about this? What about this just for a hot second? And I want to give credit here for just a minute to. riled up to Dodgers are playing the Red Sox. The Red Sox have a freaking plethora of outfielders.
Starting point is 00:12:14 We need an outfielder that can defend, that has a strong arm that can hit the fucking baseball. The Dodgers could really use that. The Red Sox could really use another starting arm. Maybe that's part not, I'm not saying one. for one. I'm not saying you're going to get Jaron Duran for Dustin May. I'm not suggesting that. But maybe there's a world that Dustin May becomes a sock and Jaron Duran, Willier-A-Bray you? Not Saddam Rafael. They're not going to let Sadan go. But would you entertain that? I mean, Andrew Freeman texted me back and said today that he's traveling. So you know he's going.
Starting point is 00:13:04 I'm assuming. They're going to Boston. I mean, they're here. What's funny is that's a spoiler to a video we're going to do on my All Dodgers channel later today. But if there are two teams that are in playoff contention with not necessarily with each other. And they're not in the same division. They're not in the same division. They have been trade partners in the past for an outfielder.
Starting point is 00:13:29 I've heard that. I've heard that. I'll, yes, Carl. The Dodgers have. Yeah. have a surplus of of starting pitching and the Boston Red Sox have a surplus of outfielders. The Dodgers desperately need a center fielder, somebody that is going to. Let me tell you something. Let me tell you something. If Sharon Duran, which I mean, I would feel
Starting point is 00:13:50 bad for Jeremy Meyer, our producer, because he's a big socks fan. But if Jaron Duran came to the Dodgers, watch out, folks. Because not only is he, he's dynamic on the Bates path, Bates paths. He has an unbelievable amount of speed. The kid can hit a little bit. I mean, and certainly more than some of our outfielder's right now. Yeah. I like it. There's a package. There's a package to be had that obviously Dustin May is not the headliner in that. He is, he is a throw in similar to. No, no. But again, similar to what we saw last year, the Dodgers offloading at James Paxton as well, the year before, much less important of a piece. but Noah Cindergarde, they trade these type of dudes,
Starting point is 00:14:33 but they have the bodies to make something special, to make a good prospect hall, something that's going to entice the Boston Red Sox when it comes to starting pitching. If it is Dustin May, if it is somebody that's on the doorstep of being ready to go, Justin Reblesky come on down. He is somebody who is a pretty decent starter right now,
Starting point is 00:14:54 and if they need a frontline, like, top 50 pipeline prospect, Jackson Ferris will do more in a trade to bring back a center fielder than he's going to do for the team this year. I understand people would love to see Jackson Ferris make his debut with the Dodgers. But we also wanted last year there to be a Ferris and a Bueller combination in a rotation. It might happen in Boston. I mean, fine. I, okay, great. And then we'll deal with it in the World Series.
Starting point is 00:15:23 I don't know. I just like that. Oh, Stephen Spam is also saying. And you can. James Alman? Oh, God bless him. You could just have Andrew Friedman and Craig
Starting point is 00:15:35 Breslo in a room together. Go to Copley. Go to Copley Square. Have some coffee. I mean, come to my house. I mean, they had Brad, Brad Paisley had Andrew Friedman
Starting point is 00:15:47 and Dave Roberts and the Tampa Bay front office come to his, like his barn. And they opened up some pappy bourbon. And that's how Tyler Glass now is now a freaking, Los Angeles Dodgers. Dodger.
Starting point is 00:16:01 Like, come to my house. Let's just hash this shit out right now. Who do you need? I'll make dinner. I got all the wine, all the things. Like, come here. Come to Chateau Rizzo. Make a hello fresh.
Starting point is 00:16:12 Make them some hello fresh or something. Sure, sure. Why not? Oh, speaking of, are we? Yeah, we do got to do something, but before that did remind me, because you said on Tuesday, if you did, I said on Tuesday, if you get us a guest, I'll get you the nicest gift card of the best restaurant and the best wine or whatever. You didn't get me. What do I get you? I didn't, you know what? I didn't get a guest, so I don't get a gift card. I did send you a package in the mail yesterday.
Starting point is 00:16:37 Oh, drugs. No. Guys, I'm, we're dicking around. terrible. It's going to go on, it's going to be behind you, the gifts, gifts, plural gifts. And I was going to say, you've done plenty. That lady, hey, pointed the right way. That lady over there, she does an incredible job making sure that your boy is taken care of. But we have to take care of some business, some housekeeping here. So we'll come back in a second with more trade talk. Actually, before that, it's kind of around trade deadline talk. I want to talk about Max Muncie, but we'll be right back. You know about the best place to buy sales. trade or look for that special card in your world. It's called Arena Club and Eric Crats just
Starting point is 00:17:17 went through a little slab pack experience and you went big. You went for the Ruby Pack. I love it. I love clicking on the Ruby Pack and knowing that I'm going to open something that is going to be epic. I got a Cowrickin Jr. autographed one of 42. I'm keeping it right now, but I would love to have it in my hands. So I might even have them send it to me already graded. Everything taken care of for me. That's right. You want to hang it up and see? stare at it all day, go for it. But if you're in there to get something else or to sell it away, you can do that. They've got the buyback program or you can put it on the marketplace yourself.
Starting point is 00:17:51 Tons of options. This is where the best cards live. It's arena club.com slash foul and use the code foul for 20% off your first slab pack or if you'd like to purchase a card, 20% off your first card purchase. Again, arena club.com slash f-o-u-l. Use code f-u-l. Imagine yourself in a vehicle from Hyundai's bold EV lineup. Perhaps you're commuting to work in an Ionic 5 with everything you've been yearning for in your next EV, including tech-infused safety features like highway driving assist and blind spot collision avoidance assist.
Starting point is 00:18:26 Or imagine you're hitting the track in the Ionic 5 end going zero to 60 miles per hour in a blistering 3.25 seconds with N-Grind Boost engaged. Woo-hoo! Or perhaps imagine you and all your friends. Friends are road-tripping to Vegas in the Ionic 9. With its class-leading interior space and available third-row seating, there's room for the whole crew.

Starting point is 00:19:13 See dealer for limited warranty details. See your Hyundai dealer for further details and limitations. Riz, this is the Draft Kings player spotlight. And today we are shining a positive light on Max Muncie. Listen, Muntz, he is not currently with the team. That's good news, though. He's obviously he's not, he's been hurt. He's coming back.
Starting point is 00:19:38 He is on the mend. The good thing. But tell them why it's good news. Where is that's good news? Our boy is heading out to Camelback Ranch. He is going to be facing some hitters. He's going to be swinging a baseball bat, getting some baseball activity in on that injured, what is it, left knee, right knee, whichever one it is. But shortly thereafter, he could be heading out on a rehab assignment.
Starting point is 00:20:03 And that is massive for this ball club, especially with the trade deadline coming up. You have the question of does this team beyond relief help, beyond outfield help? They need infield help. Having Max back in the fold just helps this team so importantly because, hey, as we discussed earlier this week, the Dodgers are what now? Five and 11 since losing Max. Max Muncie is the cog, Clint. Max Muncie is the cog that puts everybody right back in the position they're supposed to be. I love the picture, by the way, with his glasses.
Starting point is 00:20:37 That helped a lot, right? Thank you. Optometry. But, yeah, tell the people why he's so important. I mean, I'll tell the people, he is a steadying, a steadying presence as a middle of the order bat that takes a lot of pitches, forces the opposing pitcher to throw a lot of pitches. He's unbelievably patient at the plate. We obviously know he can smash the baseball over the fence.
Starting point is 00:21:00 He's consistently, you know, 30 plus home runs type of situation, high 20s, 30s in terms of home runs. I understand that the average may not always be there, but the on-base percentage is there because he walks and he's patient. He just allows the rest of the lineup to be exactly where he's supposed to be. Plus, let's not forget that he's also a massive voice and leader in the clubhouse. Let's remember, you just have to go back to October of last year when he kind of spearheaded the whole thing of like, let's just do this for each other for three weeks. Let's just be boys for three weeks. Completely commit to one another for three weeks. And then we can have one heck of an offseason, but we can do it as World Series champions.
Starting point is 00:21:43 So I do think that Max has just, he has just a way of solidifying everything. And the Dodgers, yes, he's not going to be the, he's not the MV3, right? MV3 is what we call those guys, obviously, with Shohei and Muki and Freeman. He's not an MVP candidate. He's not a Hall of Famer. But I tell you what, he's quickly becoming. And we had this question. We posed this question not too long ago.
Starting point is 00:22:06 Is he a Dodger legend? For what he's meant to this team and what he's done, you know, since he's been a Dodger, he's you know he's up there i mean does he have the longevity not necessarily but man i don't know that this team would have won as many games as they've won in in you know in max's tenure had he not been here you know so thank you athletics for kicking him to the curb thank you metz for kicking justin turner the curve you know um thank you far ahead at coletti for getting uh yeah t and farhand of course for jt getting you know munsey and ned for getting jt and muncy and the importance the funny the the importance of those two guys having crossed over so much and Max understanding how important
Starting point is 00:22:46 JT was to that locker room and you know very well how important Justin Turner was to that Dodgers locker room. Max Muncie was like, it's got to be me. I have to be the dude. It's got to be me. I think that's Justin. But yeah, no, I think with JT. And yeah, and again, he's getting better defensively. Is he an unbelievable third baseman? No. I mean, he's not Nolan Aronado, but I, you know, he's really good offensive. Yes, and he's very good in that thing. So Max Muncie, you are a Draft Kings player spotlight. We cannot wait for you to come back.

I think that's fun. I think that's fair. And I got a front end for that. Is that Andrew Friedman? I was about to say, who's that supposed to be?
Starting point is 00:25:26 I mean, Andrew Friedman doesn't wear glasses like that, but that's funny. It's kind of like Doogie Houser meets Howard Wallowicz from your favorite show, Big Bang Theory. All right. So, again, dust, I love that show. Dustin May, again, being kind of dangled in trade talks. Yeah. You know, I get it. talked about this today, of course.
Starting point is 00:25:44 You and Kenne. We did, Ten Rosenthal on Fair Territory, and I talked about this. And, you know, again, I see a situation in which both could be true. You know, I could see Dustin May being packaged to go someplace else, Boston, or I could see Dustin May being a part of this team for the remainder of it, but, you know, probably in a very different role than we've seen him be in before. And again, we talked about it. Like, this isn't the first time this has happened, right?
Starting point is 00:26:11 You had mentioned last year, James Paxton. the year before that or 2003 nois cindergarde although thor was horrific um and then in 2020 our our friend now who's doing some guest hosting on on foul territory ross tripling who i absolutely adore uh with every part of my being he's one of the best ones you know i i had also completely forgot that that you were at the uh when they did the big swing live event at baseballism in arizona completely forgot you were there thank you but yeah i'm glad i left a lasting impression i I forgot about the event in general, but I remember getting a shout out from Cooper and all of that. It was a good time.
Starting point is 00:26:48 I used to love their podcast. I'm bum that they stopped that podcast. That was really good. Maybe they'll pick it up again now that, well, I don't know. Ross is getting more into media. Like I said, he's a host on foul territory with boys. If they are, Cooper sent me a bunch of their old podcast equipment. I could send it back to him.
Starting point is 00:27:05 Cooper Cirles, give me a call. I actually need a call him because I need the. Anyways, that's a whole aside. But why it wouldn't make sense? Either way, I think that's the real question. And we'll get, you know, to bring this back up with Dustin maybe, because that is the big, the kind of biggest story right now. If he does end up in the bullpen, you kind of help fix your bullpen.
Starting point is 00:27:25 He's not going to end up in the starting rotation because the Dodgers have a surplus. And this was, these were some words from Andrew Friedman, not to us, but in this particular scenario, Bill Plunkett of the O.C. Register talking about, hey, they're not going to have to go out and get a starter, which we know that is an expensive market to have to dip into at the trade deadline. But saying here, we feel like they're going to have the most high-class problem possible, which is have more guys available than spots. And, you know, that's how you use them.
Starting point is 00:27:56 You use them either your Emmett Sheehan or your Dustin Mays or Rebleski in the bullpen to kind of get some guys in better spots, or you use them in trades for a Jaron Duran, for, I mean, everybody else that I want is saying they're not getting traded. You're Byron Buxton's Brent Rooker today on foul. I don't want Byron Buxden anyway. I don't want Byron Buxden anyway. You think Tyler Glass now is injured. He hasn't. He hasn't been as hurt of late.
Starting point is 00:28:24 Oh, okay. But you know when he'll get hurt? October. No, I love, you know, I interviewed Byron Buston before he got, I went, I flew to Baxley, Georgia where he's from. And I interviewed him before he got drafted. Now look at him. He already had like a billion years of, well, not really, he's always hurt. But anyway.
Starting point is 00:28:40 Okay, so they're not going to go after starters. They don't need to. I do definitely think they're going after a reliever, even if Dustin May gets moved to the bullpen. I think they need another bullpen arm because you don't know how much you're going to get from Tanner Scott, how long he's going to be on the IL. Kirby Yates does not look good right now. Blake Trinen on the way back.
Starting point is 00:29:04 Evan Phillips is out for the year. Casperius doesn't look good right now. So I think they go after another arm. We could throw this out real quickly. One name they won't be going after is Felix Batista. This punged me out, man. That's who I wanted. Because the Orioles are very clear sellers.
Starting point is 00:29:23 So to not have him available, that really Fs up the market just all around. But I like this question. I had, where was it? Somebody had the question in the chat right here. John, if no trades are made. Do the Dodgers win a World Series this year? And I say this because Brandon Gomes, the GM of the Dodgers, also spoke with media this week, not us, but with reporters this week at Dodgers
Starting point is 00:29:52 Stadium. And he left the team a good bit of wiggle room to kind of, if they aren't busy or if they aren't exceptionally active or as active as we would like them to be at the trade deadline, he left a little wiggle room to say, like, we still believe in the guys that they have internally. The quote was over the long haul. Uh-huh. Well, yeah, I mean, obviously. He's not going to be like, he's not going to be like whatever John Boy wants Aaron Boone's players to be doing. Like, oh, my God, we need players or whatever. The reason Clayton Kershaw walked off of his interview because he didn't want to say anything to get himself in trouble. But Gohm said, what a potential playoff team will look like this group is really talented. And I would argue better than last year's team that won the World Series. And I agree with that. And I think a few things work out for this team. I think it just depends on health.
Starting point is 00:30:41 If they do absolutely nothing at the deadline, do I think this team is talented enough? Yes, but do I think the team is healthy enough? No. I mean, everybody's got to come back healthy. You know what I mean? And you've got to be healthy at the right time, and you've got to be playing really, really good baseball at the right time.
Starting point is 00:30:58 The defensive miscues, the sloppy play, that's not just plagued the Dodgers. It has plagued the Yankees as of late. Read Ken Grunner, or Ken Rosenthal's comments about that in his article in the athletic. The Yankees look like crap defensively. I mean, that's been a carryover, obviously, since, thank God, since game five of the World Series last year, they are not a fundamentally sound defensive team.
Starting point is 00:31:18 The Yankees are not. Red Sox are up there in terms of errors. They play really shitty defensive baseball. The Dodgers have looked sloppy. I mean, Dave said it the other day, right, that this was like kind of rock bottom. You're not going to win a World Series playing defense this way. Do I think the Dodgers can fix it? Absolutely.
Starting point is 00:31:35 I mean, the Yankees have been bad defensively. for a long time. It's not just this year. So, yeah, can they win a World Series with the current talent? Yes, but they've got to, everyone's got to be playing over their skis and everybody has to be healthy. I mean, Mookie's got to be better, you know? I think Freddie's figuring it out. I'm also, I'm worried, and this is something we'll have to talk about at some point.
Starting point is 00:31:59 I'm kind of worried about what we've seen out of Hesong Kim. I don't think he's the answer is the starting second baseman. And this is why a couple weeks ago, I was imploring the Dodgers actually play the kid play him every day to see what we have before the trade deadline. But now you've seen it and it's not what you hope for. Yeah. And this is this is why you do it now rather than in August. And this is where I was going to ask too. Like months he's coming back. Do we think the infield is enough, you know, good enough? Well, that all hinges on Mookie returning to to Mookie type numbers. But I don't know that there's very many signs of him
Starting point is 00:32:33 kind of regressing to his positively regressing to his mean. The movie. Yeah, I don't know. Mookie's just spiraling. But what I'll add to this, because I'm sure some people saw on the social media this week, former Dodger top prospect catcher Diego Cartaya released by the Minnesota Twins, he was really, really bad for the twins. And some of it was injury woes over his career that kind of derailed things. But this is why I think the Dodgers should be.
Starting point is 00:33:07 open to almost anything at the trade deadline because for every yordaun alvarez for every michael bush for every o'neal cruise there are your willie calhouns your diego cartyas your jeter downs um your joel guzman's your andy la roche's the dudes the jerry sanzas of the world the guys that don't pan out trade those guys uh Alex freeland isn't doing any sort of good for the team down at triple a any sort of good for the big league team. I'm not going to call him up. Free him, let him play somewhere else. Ryan Ward, let him play somewhere else.
Starting point is 00:33:45 Who else? They don't need all of Mike Serota, Jackson, not Jackson, Ferris, Kendall George, they don't need all of Hosewate Apala. They don't need all of the guys. I just also think it shows you how difficult it is to have success in this game. I mean, it is, like, less than 1% of the world's
Starting point is 00:34:07 population makes it. You know what I mean? Like this is a very, very difficult game. And when you have high prospects like that, the one, the one trade that really still makes me cringe is Yordon Alvarez for Josh Fields. I'm just like, but that organization literally had Alvarez for like two weeks up to that point. They couldn't have known really anything. No, I know, but still think about what he pan. Listen, I know hindsight's 2020. It's very easy for me to be like, what are we doing? I get it. But yes. you're right. There's a lot of guys kicking it in AAA that could perhaps be in other places. And you help the club.
Starting point is 00:34:45 I love what you said when we were together on Tuesday doing a miserable post game for everybody. But they need to be all in. They're going to be all in on 2025. 2026 and beyond can suck our butts. We don't care. We need to win now. We don't care about that right now. Like this is not a team that's like where they're not building,
Starting point is 00:35:03 they're not, you know, punting on this season to think about the future. Like every year the expectation is to win the World Series. And I'm grateful. As a fan of this club, I'm grateful for that. Like, I don't want to look long term. Like, what can we do in 2020? I don't give a shit. What are we doing in 2025 to win this World Series?
Starting point is 00:35:18 And this team, thankfully, spends money and does things. All right. Let's get to last looks. All right. All right, guys. Let me introduce you to Nova. She was at the Downey Shelter and she was about to be killed because of space. Stop me if you've heard this before.
Starting point is 00:35:40 I know I'm a broken record, but this is a very broken system in terms of LA City and L.A. County shelters. She is beautiful. She is a black Belgian Malinua German Shepherd mix. She's super duper sweet. Right now, she isn't a foster home. She's not quite ready for adoption. She just got to her foster home yesterday. She needs time to decompress. She needs to time, she needs time to remember how to dog, how to be a dog. But what we could use, if you guys don't mind a donation, it could be a dollar. It's very helpful. Go to. Go to. to Guidry's guardian.org. You can donate, put Nova on your donation form. It helps us. We have to do all of her medical. Just make sure she's healthy and in tip-top shape. All the foster supplies, rescue is expensive. So I would appreciate that.
Starting point is 00:36:24 So please take a look at Nova. There's a wish list in our stories for her. She needs some, yeah, so she needs some stuff. All right. I know you've been busy on your own show. All Dodgers with Clint Paceas. What can we expect on your next episode? We're going to talk a lot more about
Starting point is 00:36:40 the Dodgers and the Red Sox and not about the series coming up, but how they once again could and should be trade partners. Yeah, we're talking Jaron. That's going to be a good episode. I might actually listen. I might for once listen to your show. Thank you. If you want to come on and hang out with us and drink some beers with everybody,
Starting point is 00:36:58 but Jeff Snyder, join us. We'll be live 6 p.m. Pacific time tonight, all Dodgers, YouTube channel. And it should be a good time. And hopefully it leads to a trade for Jaron, because I really think this team needs a center fielder. But I agree with you. And riled up too, agrees with you too.
Starting point is 00:37:16 I was like, yes, that's absolutely a great idea. The people want Duran. The people want Duran and the people want Kike Hernandez. And you know who Kike Hernandez loves, Freddie Freeman? Now look at this guy, Eaton. Is that a popsicle? That's a popsicle. Oh, God.
Starting point is 00:37:35 Only Kiki. What is going on with his facial hair? How have I not seen this recently? Listen, listen, he's on. Get this man off of the IL. Oh, I'm going to get him off the screen. So we don't get demonetized there. MLB loves making sure people don't watch their product unless it's through their own thing.
Starting point is 00:37:53 But hey, rally popsicles is this thing? You know, I know somebody's making a shirt somewhere. There's rally popsicles. I'm sure they already have them. They're already on the backs of their chairs. That stuff happens so quickly. And then, of course, Freddie Freeman walks it off. And Kike is the first.
Starting point is 00:38:09 person out there hugging him and loving it and just jump and Freddie Freeman we know Frederick loves hugs and Kike loves hugs and gave him a big old hug so all right I love I love I love they needed that win desperately we have we have a super chat by the way from earlier in the show I wanted to make sure we got our Francisco in there who sent us a 999 super chat come on thing there we go thank you Francisco he's talking about if Clayton Kersha taught us anything 23 who's 23 is about 21 I think the year if 2020 and 2020. Sorry. Okay. That makes more sense. Anything is that you never can predict injuries, especially in pitching. They stayed pat those years and it bit them in the NLDS overpaying sex. But the pen dogs need help. Yeah, they do. Yeah. I mean, that's the thing. You can't,
Starting point is 00:38:55 it would be great if we had a crystal ball, but we don't. And that's why that's why another reason you guys, why you should appreciate the success that this team has had year in and year out, because it is unbelievably difficult to predict, but they've done an unbelievable job. scouting. They've done an unbelievable job developing. And be grateful. all of the issues that we've had in this team is still in first place. So don't forget
