I want to go home and I'm home already. First of all, you're already home, but how do you stop the bleeding? How do you stop the bleeding Clint Paceas that is Tanner Scott? That is a great question. I don't know. I mean, I feel like Dave put them in a pretty decent run there. And guys, hop into the comments. Let us know your thoughts on this game, your thoughts on the series.

Obviously, the Dodgers salvage the series here with this finale, this walkoff. They ultimately end up in about the same spot. They entered the series two game lead over the Padres. But Tanner Scott, yeah, continues to be a pretty good bit of an issue for this team. He's only been back a couple of games, and already our blood pressure is rising, three-run Homer to Corbyn Carroll. And I got to tell you, Riz, you know, all of the off-season signings just kind of have not worked for this team. Kirby Yates has been God-awful for the most part of the season.

He's given up a butt-ton of run since he's returned from the I.L. I think his ERA is at at 4.72 on the year. I found my number 4-4-4 now for Tanner Scott. Of course, Mike Conforto at 190. Blake Snell has been good when healthy, missed more than three months. But yeah, the issue of the day is Tanner Scott. And I just, I don't know. I don't know what you do with him.

I don't either. I don't either. By the way, Walker Buella got picked up by the Philadelphia Phillies. That's for another time. I'm happy for him getting that. No, I know. I'm happy for him, but you didn't want him back on the Dodgers. I did.

But here's the thing. I don't know, you guys, like this is, again, it's easy to poke holes in a team that is pretty dang good. But I have some concerns. And I'm not saying that we're not going to make the postseason. I'm not saying that we're not going to go deep in the postseason. But you cannot go out there against the Arizona flipping diamondbacks and lose almost, almost a sweep. But lose two of three and almost lose the third game when you're leading the entire game. That cannot happen.

That cannot happen. Like this division race is way too close. You put this in here because you are a wonderful director and producer. Heading into the game, 46 runs scored over the past six wins and just nine runs over the last six losses. Again, like you're not scoring. Your bullpins beat up and Tanner Scott right now has not been the answer. Yeah. I like you get your key hits from Miguel Rojas and Andy Pahas, which is great.

Thank you so much. but that's like that's not who is making the big bucks that's not who you're counting on no absolutely what are we doing it's a it's a very disjointed effort um listen a win's a win they needed this dub they needed it very very bad i think we all needed it bad but even though i don't i don't feel very good after this win and i know we're supposed to be happy and chipper and cheerful after the dodgers win on these sort of post game shows but i don't feel it you know i i love the effort from Yamamoto. He is this

team stopper and he went out there and did his job phenomenally. I have a stat line here. Seven innings, four hits, one earned, no walks, ties a career high with 10 Ks on 98 pitches. That dude is a fucking beast. I love everything about Yamamoto.

But going to work, getting your job done, and the guy that comes in behind you is just like diarrhea is all over the place. It's not a good feeling. And I think I'm still stuck on that. Yeah, I don't.

I got to be, I just have a bad feeling. I love this team and I'm usually like poly positive and I'm good cop, your bad cop, all the things. And I get that and it's fine and whatever. And I love this team and I always will. I always will. But this is, this is, there's, there are some concerns that I have.

Yeah. Will they make the postseason? Of course. Do I hope that they get everything ready to go? Sure. I do. Of course. I just feel like this is not a team that, like, is going to shove it down your throat.

This isn't a team that's going to have everything working on every cylinder, every single game. And we're, we're a month away from the postseason. Like, you can't play like this and keep resting on your Dodger laurels of having that eventually they're going to turn it on. Like, when are you going to flip the switch? When, when are you going to do it? I mean, Riz, we've been talking for months now about the all the ifs, like if we get this play. If this happens, a team is going to be good again. It turns out they're only good against teams that are playing better.

I forgot what the number was, but against teams with records over 500, they're just playing much better. They are now 12 and 4 with teams against teams with a record over 500 and 5 and 10 with records under 500. They're playing down to the competition, something Dave didn't really want to touch on or acknowledge. He acknowledged it. He just didn't want to, you know, vocalize it, verbalize it.

He also said yesterday that, you know, like so far the series has been embarrassing. Let me ask, look at this, though. Go to our chat really quick. Maddie Man 5 Dodge. When was show his last clutch it? Honestly, it was show his last clutch it. I love it. You had that one because I favoriteed that one.

And this is going back into what you were talking about earlier before I did that thing, where my brain's all over the place and I derailed us. Yeah, the guys who got it done today, Andy Pahez, Miguel Rojas, So you expect Will Smith to be doing something, but, you know, Shohay leads the game off with the base hit. And then it's just kind of not been anything in between. It's either first inning or like late in the game, maybe a garbage homer.

And listen, we love Shohay, but I need a little bit something else from him. But are we asking too much of Shohay? I was like, I looked at the stat line. Now, hang on a second. I looked at the stat line. I was watching the game on the couch, my husband and my brother-in-law, my sister-in-law, my nephew were here, right? So I was like, all right.

Yeah, everybody. It's a big family, Ioneta affair. So we're watching the game. And I was like, all right. So he's only hitting whatever, 278. I'm like, that's not, like, that's not superstar. And my husband was like, he's hitting 45 bombs and he's throwing 100. He is a superstar.

I was like, okay. So he just like, he checked me. You know what I mean? Like, I get it. But it's like there has not been a moment of a clutch hit in quite some time. And if you're going to get all of this fanfare, then you need to come up in these moments. and you cannot get swept by the Angels. You cannot lose two of three to the Rockies.

You cannot almost get swept by the Diamondbacks and barely get one game against them. Like, that's a little problematic to me. It's a little problematic. Yeah, and, you know, to show his credit, this team does not, I mean, it kind of does run through him. It's not all on his shoulders. We know Mookie is just trying to find grass in any way, shape, or form,

and he is doing what he can. He's been actually very, very good. He's got the average now back up to 250. Last month he's been good. But, you know, Freddie's been a little bit off. The big missing piece really is Tayasca Hernandez. And Max Muncie, not being in the line. Well, Muncie, for sure.

But the missing piece that's actually available is Taylor. Like, he has not. You're absolutely right. Yeah, not been a factor. He's not been the same guy since he's been hurt. Yeah. And he was benched today. That's something we should talk about.

Dave Roberts, not extremely happy

with the performance he's seen out of Tayasca Hernandez. Here's the full quote from Dave from our friend Jack Harris of Los Angeles Times. Dave's saying he's surprised. This might not be the Teo. This is not the Teo. This is General Dave Shock. This is the Teo on from Fabian Ardaya, also a friend of the show, the athletics, and clearly

he hasn't hit right-handed pitching well. And I think a two-day reset could help. He's an everyday guy, but I do think with where we're at, you have to perform as well. You have to perform, too. And that's not what we've seen out of Teoscar Hernandez, especially since he went on the injured list and has since come back. First month of the season was a superstar. was the guy we were thrilled.

He was the guy we wanted to come back and be the tail we saw on 24. Since then, I don't know if there's something that his mind is somewhere else, or he's just not engaged into the lesser, the non-big moments. But Teoska Hernandez in that four spot and that five spot has been a kind of black hole, especially over the last couple of months for this team. I don't think it's because his mind is somewhere else. I think that there's a lot of rust still coming off of the injury. He's not gotten his form back.

I don't think it's because there's a lack of effort or there's a lack of care or any of that stuff. You know, sometimes you have down ears. And again, I was screaming off the rooftops of like bring him back, bring him back, bring him back. I know it's like bring him out, bring him out, bring him out, bring him out. But I was like, bring him back, bring him back. I don't know. I don't know what the situation is. But it's just he seems flat.

He seemed flat the entire season. But I have to be honest, nobody is. is having an unbelievable year this year wire to wire, right? There's not one person that's like, oh my gosh, even Shohei. I mean, even Show Hey is not, I mean, yes, he has, the man has 45 home runs. Great year. We get it. Like, great year.

Like, I get it. But to the level that Shohei has set himself, he's not having, I don't know, whatever I say, everyone's going to be like, what are you talking about? He's the greatest thing ever, blah, blah, blah. But it's like, I just feel like as we head into some head into, September Clint Passeas. If we look at the August report cards, how would you grade the team and how would you grade the individual superstars? Man, that's definitely a tough one. The team overall, I mean, we're running at about a C minus right now over the last couple of months. I think,

what is it? Through June, they were 21 games over 500. Those are the numbers I had, 53 and 32. but they went 10 and 14 in July and are now 15 and 13 to complete the month of August, which is just not what you expect with this roster, with the amount of talent. And I'll say again, I understand we're complaining a lot about a team that just won a ballgame. But understanding that... They should have shoved. They should have won the series. They should have swept this team.

And we're what, 28 days away from the start of the post season? We are. You know, I saw somebody saying it in the comments, and I'll bring the comments back up here. You know, the way it feels, it could be a very short October for this ball club. No, no, no. First of all, Jason Diamond, our boy, Jason, Diamond. Thanks so much, Jason, for being part of the chat, said it's going to be a short postseason. No, it's not, J.D.

It's not. We're going to figure it out. We're going to figure it out, J.D. I believe, I still believe in this club, but, like, this is not, like, I don't know, Is it better to like stumble your way in like a drunk sailor? Or is it better to like, you know, go in 10 games. Works for some teams. Go in like 10 games up.

Like I don't know. Dodgers better sweep the pirates. Sure. But we should have swept the angels and we should have swept the diamond backs, Alexander Rose. Like I don't know. I don't know what the situation is, but I just,

this is a team that's like they're good, but they're just not, they're not like, you know that saying like if you see your opponent drowning, or you see your enemy drowning, shove a hose in their mouth. That's what I need. That is what I mean. Well, yeah, it's evil.

It's not great. It's not really great. But the point is if you see your opponent, and again, like, once the game is over, you can go have a slice of pizza with the people. You can go grab a beer with the opponent. That's fine. But in the game, like, you've got to be dominant.

And I just don't see that dominance in the NL West. I don't see that dominance overall. And again, there's a lot of, lot going on behind the scenes, I am sure that we are not privy, too. And again, we're still in first place in the NOS. We're bitching about stuff that most people in, in major leagues, would be super psyched if their team was in first place, right? Very tiny violin. Yeah, like, nobody cares. Like, nobody is going to feel bad for the doctors. I get it. But I just want, I want more dominance. Yeah. You got to beat these kind of teams. And, and, you know, the,

we expected a lot more out of the Arizona Arizona Diamondbacks this season. Everybody did. The Diamondbacks did. They've played a little bit better since after the trade deadline and all that. So there's some credit there. I mean, they played well in this series. Like Mookie said, what,

two fantasy, not fantasy camp, what do they call that? Fanfest. Every time, every team, we come into town, this is, or even them coming to face us. This is their world series. And every team is getting it up against the Dodgers. And sometimes the Dodgers are like,

feeling like I'm feeling sometimes with, you know, doing post games or doing things. It's like, crap, we've got to go to work today. And I love talking about the team. And that's fine. Yeah. That's fine if you have a 10 game lead in the division. You can like not want to go to work.

You'd be like, me, but you know what? You might lose the division. So you can't rest on your laurels. You can't rest on the back of your baseball card. You can't rest on what's happened in the last 10 years. Like, this is way too. close for comfort. I'm sorry. Great point. I get it. Like, that's fine. If you're like,

if you have such a dominating lead that everything is boring to you and contrite, because you know that you're going to get the first round by, you know that you're going to host, you know, you have home field advantage throughout. That's fine, but we're not there yet. No. And tomorrow is September 1st, bitches. So, like, Respectfully.

Not even respectfully. Yeah, no, again, and it is time. And I'm sure the way I'm feeling about this win, I'm sure Doc is feeling something similar in his post game. You feel good, the Dodgers won. You feel good that Willie walked it off. You feel good that Yamamoto shoved and is looking like your game one

starter or maybe a game two starter. Clint Piscius, I love you, but it should not have had to have been a walkoff. Exactly. And again, I'm just trying to make sure we keep laying that much out there. We understand that what we're complaining about, maybe not everybody's on our side with this, but we expect to see more out of this team. So I guess that's a C, right? C's get degrees. C is average, right? Yeah. When all else fails and like when you have to fill out the bubbles, you just go with C. I'm going to go with C. I have so much faith in this team, and I know they're better than what we've seen so far.

So I'm going to give them a C across the board. You know, first place, I'm getting a C. They're in first place of two-game lead in the National League West. They are, what, a game and a half behind the Phillies for that second seed. Wait, are they two games? Did the Dodgers? Yeah, the Padres, yeah, they got beat. They lost two of three also to the twins.

So, again, this is just a wash of a series, which I guess, is okay you want to get through the calendar um yeah yeah paul saying in the chat as well podre's lost today tall can saying dodger still at first um tall can versus um is that like short ken rosenthal wait tall can shit 10 strikeout scott says watch me F this up la la la here hit this big oh okay what are we talking about i don't know are we moving on no yeah we're moving on there's a much of stuff and the talk and shit. I said maybe he goes back to L.A. But the Phillies make so much sense. So they need a starter. And Walker wants to be a starter. And he doesn't have to be the man. So even if he's their fifth guy, that's a perfect fit for him. Absolutely. And again, my thing was let him sign with a team that's headed to the postseason,

which, of course, the fight and fills 100% are. And ideally a spot where he can find his way into that starting rotation, which he will with the Phillies. So just awesome for Walker. I wish him all the success except for against LA, like you said. And I also want to point out, too, a lot of people were saying, you know, giving the Dodgers and giving Andrew Friedman a bunch of shit for the Dustin May trade because in like his first two starts, he was pretty good for the Red Sox. Boy, he's been ass for the socks. His first start was terrible.

His second start was okay. Every, every start, every subsequent start has been terrible. He's not been good. So this is for me. because he he I saw his most recent quotes I don't know why we're talking about this but whatever former dodger and I this you know pewler Dustin May red socks but I've been saying for years you said it all season long well Dustin May should be in the bullpen he talked about like I was so good for four innings and then I just lost it in the fifth yeah bro because you're a reliever so anyways if you're a two pitch pitcher and they know what's coming and you're going through the third time through the order probably not the greatest thing for success right something like that but i think it's about time to hit that wrap it up button uh again dodgers win uh let's pretend we're happy i'm happy i'll be happier i'll be happy as soon as we're like we are realistic right like okay so here's the deal so

tomorrow we're off because it's labor day um and then tuesday i cannot be on post game um we're doing post game on wednesday clint and i will be on post game on wednesday our normal time is Thursday.
