Starting point is 00:00:00 I'm Daniel Alarcon, and this is my friend, is much more famous than I am. I wouldn't go that far, but I'm John Green, co-host at the podcast The Away End with my old friend Daniel. On our podcast, The Away End, we'll share with you the magic of international football, all leading up to the 2026 World Cup. Together, we'll find out why, of all the unimportant things,
Starting point is 00:00:19 football, soccer, is the most important. Listen to The Away End with Daniel Alarcon and John Green on the IHeart Radio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcast. Kentucky can count on bourbon, basketball, and 975 WAMZ. Kentucky-N-A-N-A-N-A-N-N-A-N-N-A-N-N-A-N-N-A-N-KKKKKKKKKKKKK-N-A-N-K-KKKKKKK, and we never take for granted that you make us part of your favorite country country country country in Kentucky.
Starting point is 00:00:44 Whether you're starting your day off with the Bobby Bone Show, making your workday go a little faster by hanging out with me on the job, or dealing with that Gene Snyder traffic on the ride home with Corey Calhoun, you can count on us for the best country music in Kentucky. In Louisville, you can catch us on the radio dial at 97-5, and anywhere on the I Heart Radio app. Yesterday we complained or I complained with if there were some things you could nitpick about today,
Starting point is 00:01:06 not a damn thing. Perfect Dodger. Yeah. Perfect ball game. What is up, everybody? And welcome to another live edition of Dodgers territory. The Dodgers are 2 and O in the NLCS. My name is Alana Rizzo.
Starting point is 00:01:34 That is my guy, my co-host Clint Paseas, at Real FRG on X if you're nasty. I tell you what, this is awesome to go up 2 and O against a team that had the best record in the National League. We are psyched that you guys are here. We are psyched that Fox One is our presenting sponsor. Thank you, Fox One for being with us. Like, subscribe, rate as five stars, all of the things. Yesterday, Clint Paseas, we talked about how it was the Blake Snell game.
Starting point is 00:02:04 I said, there's no way or is there a way, my friends, that Dave Roberts allows Yoshinovians. Yamamoto to go the distance. He did complete game. Wasn't a shutout, but you know what? One earned run because of a Jackson Cheerio solo shot. I'm in. Congrats, Yamah. What a performance.
Starting point is 00:02:24 What an absolute masterful. Like, this is a dog. This is an ace. And we've said it so many times it feels like in recent vintage, especially a lot this year. This is why you pay Yoshinobu Yamamoto, all of that money, because he is an ace. as much as good as Blake Snell is.
Starting point is 00:02:42 Yoshinobu Yamamoto is just as good. Complete game, what, three hitter, one run on the board. Dodgers steal two games in Milwaukee. That's huge. They score runs the old-fashioned way. They score all throughout the game. This is, you know, yesterday we complained or I complained. There were some things you could nitpick about today.
Starting point is 00:03:07 Not a damn thing. Perfect, Dodger. Perfect ball game. You know what's crazy is I wouldn't say that today was a steal because I think the Dodgers. As soon as Teaska Hernandez hit that solo shot and tied up the game, there wasn't much of a steal in this. It was kind of Dodgers all the way. It was a clean game. No disrespect to the Brewers.
Starting point is 00:03:25 They didn't do anything wrong. The Dodgers didn't do anything wrong. They just had the offense when they needed to. Yesterday, you're kind of stealing a game. Today it was like just a good game. It was well pitched. It was well played. It was well defended.
Starting point is 00:03:39 You got the hits when you needed to. You'll take obviously the Teascahernandez solo shot. You're going to take the Andy Pahez, you know, base hit down the right field line that scores Kige Hernandez. You'll take a Max Muncie solo shot. You'll take all of the different things that made this happen. But to go into American Family Field against a Brewer's team that, again, I said it yesterday, they're not the average Joe's.
Starting point is 00:04:01 They want you to think that, but they're such a good team, right? They had the best record in the National League all season long, basically leading the way wire to wire. And to be able to take the first two games on the road, you feel pretty dang good. You have a day off tomorrow. You feel pretty good about going home. And I said this when we played the Phillies and the DS, Clint Paceas. I said there's no way the daughters are losing three in a row. And I understand it's the best of seven.
Starting point is 00:04:26 I understand it's whoever wins four first. I feel really good about this team. And as much respect as I have for the. Brewers. No freaking way the Dodgers don't go back to the World Series. No way. Yeah. Well, we'll talk more about the rest of this series a little bit later in the show. Do you want to remind people hang out in the chat. You got to see the chat up there. We're going to get to as many super chats and friends of the show and all that kind of stuff. I want to make sure I get this graphic up on the screen because absolutely, God bless this man.
Starting point is 00:04:57 Domination from Yoshinobu Yamamoto. It feels really cool. It feels really old school to see a complete game. You know, it's not a no-hitter. It's not a perfect game. But as much as we wanted it yesterday, I applaud Dave Roberts for letting Yama go the distance today. Again, just a great baseball game. Also, the first time this has happened since Lima time, first complete game thrown by Dodgers since 2004. That was the only win the Dodgers had in that 2000.
Starting point is 00:05:34 for postseason against the, I believe it was St. Louis Cardinals and Albert Pooholz and Jim Edmonds and all of that. Of course, that was a legendary moment. Lima Time is still a legend in Dodger lore. Yamamoto already a legend with a World Series title under his belt. Feels like two might be on the way. I don't want to get too ahead of myself, though. This is where you start to run into, you know.
Starting point is 00:05:57 No, no, no. It's funny that you say getting ahead of yourself. We just had a great mention in chat here. It was, hang on, hold on. Hang on. I apologize. Just give me a hot second. It was like low key music.
Starting point is 00:06:09 I love you, Henry. Yes, I do. Henry works for us. I'll get Henry off the screen. Low key music. No more clenching time for clinching. Yesterday, Clint was a clencher. Today, feels like, yeah, we're clinching.
Starting point is 00:06:23 And I know that it's like you don't want to get ahead of yourself. And I can appreciate that. There is no way in the world. The Dodgers. don't win two more games before the Brewers win for. There's just not. Yeah. We're going back to the World Series.
Starting point is 00:06:39 My prediction heading into this series was a six-game series. Yeah, I guess I won't save it for the end of the show. Dodgers are sweeping. Dodgers are sweeping. I'm going to see them party on my birthday on Friday. Then I could just get really, really drunk for my birthday party on Saturday and have a good time because they're not going to be playing baseball. I hope the kids are not listening. He's going to drink water and apple juice,
Starting point is 00:07:05 and he's going to study his multiplication tables, and it's going to be great. But let's talk about the fact. Booze and hose, baby, booze and hose. No? Oh, my goodness. All right, let's talk about, let's literally talk about the game for a hot second.
Starting point is 00:07:23 We talked about winning two in Milwaukee. That's a big deal, right? Scoring runs the old-fashioned way. We talked about it as well. Yes, there were some home runs. We'll take it. But it just didn't seem like it wasn't sloppy. It was good defense.
Starting point is 00:07:36 It was well pitched. It was key hits. It was all the things. We scored runs throughout the game. This is what the Dodgers need to do the remainder of the postseason, right? Six more wins, Clint Pisces. That's it. Six.
Starting point is 00:07:50 That is fun. Oh, wait, I didn't put this guy up here, by the way. Dodgers take a two nothing series lead. Yeah, the lower part of the order got it done for the, Dodgers today. One through four, they had three hits, five through nine, had eight hits. Live by the Teo, die by the Teo. You mentioned that Homer to get us going, Teosker Hernandez, with this fourth home run. Our girl, Sarah Lang's doing the Lord's Work as she usually does and finding all the good stats on here. Yeah, you know, we talked, we have talked about
Starting point is 00:08:27 Teoscar Hernandez, a little bit about Shoah, but more so. Teo, this is a man. This is a grown up. This is a dog. This is like he is a dude and he has adult grown up power in the post season and you're seeing it on display. The Dodgers usually do well when there's somebody on a heater when somebody turns it, you know,
Starting point is 00:08:46 flips it on to God mode. We saw it with Corey Seeger in 2020. In 2024, it was kind of the entirety of the bullpen. 25. Teo with his ups and downs, you know, he giveeth, he taketh away. I think it's Teo. I think it's Freddie. And I think
Starting point is 00:09:02 the underlying thing in the postseason or the underlying person, rather, not thing. Underlying person in the postseason is Kike Hernandez. And again, Yoshinobu Yamamoto was unbelievable today. Shohei Otani has been bad offensively. It is what it is. And that's okay. But goodness gracious, we're not in this position. We're not in the postseason in terms of record and status and all the things without
Starting point is 00:09:28 Shohei, but he's scuffled for sure. But that being said, his teammates have picked him up. His starting staff has picked him up. There's been guys in the lineup that have picked him up. The two guys that hate the regular season the most, the Hernandez brothers, have picked him up in the postseason. And the one dude that is like the most vanilla human on the planet, my husband was like, Freddie just looks uncomfortable doing this whole thing.
Starting point is 00:09:54 It's Freddie Freeman. And he is, God bless him. God bless him for his consistency and his tenacity and his tenacity and his ability to hit the baseball and come up massively. I mean, he's another Hall of Famer. Freddie Freeman is the man. So, like, they're getting the offense where they need to. Shohei will figure it out.
Starting point is 00:10:15 He's going to come up huge, whether it's in the remainder of the CS or in the World Series where the Dodgers are going. There's no way the Dodgers don't go to the World Series. He's going to come up big. He's been quiet so far. But that is a conversation, right? Because everyone wants to anoint him as the second coming. And he is.
Starting point is 00:10:36 He's unbelievable. But he has been quiet for sure. Yeah. You know, it's funny. Shohei hit the hell out of the ball. Earlier in the day, he had an RBI single, you know, with the late insurance there in the seventh inning. We do wonder, are we still waiting on Shohei Otani? Is this kind of what we're going to get out of him?
Starting point is 00:10:56 I don't know if we're going to see insane MVP, Shohei. like the slugger side of it. No, he's going to come up big. There's going to be a moment in the postseason where it's the remainder of the CS, Clint, or it's in the World Series where you're going to see, you're going to need like the centaur or the unicorn to like a merge or the Phoenix like coming out of the ashes. And that's going to be show hey.
Starting point is 00:11:20 Like he's going to have his moment in the postseason that's going to solidify what we have anointed him to. It hasn't happened yet, but they also have. haven't needed that moment, there will be a moment where Shohei presents himself and you're like, thank God. Thank God he's back. Somebody else kind of announced himself a little bit of breaking out of a slump. Andy Pah has with the RBI single scoring Kike Hernandez.
Starting point is 00:11:45 I do want to talk more Kike later on in the show. But how about Mad Max Muncie? He got all of that one. They can't take that one back. That one. You see the smile. You saw the smile on Munce's face. and how about this for another record we're talking earlier about Jose Lima now you're talking about
Starting point is 00:12:04 all-time Dodgers record books here max monthly with that 14th postseason career postseason and honestly think about what could have happened last night climpusius i mean it could have he went from grand slam to double play which nobody friggin still understands everyone's still talking about like how did that happen but i mean max munce was max muncie was inches away from a grand slam that ended up into a eight six two double play tonight it was a no-datter it went over the fence and he's like okay thank you thank you very much thank you but i mean max could have had five rbi i in the last two games right um and that's rbis are also known as stakes and we'll talk about jacob with his freaking stakes and omaha stakes but you know what um
Starting point is 00:12:47 it all it's all it's all coming together this is a team i have so much confidence in i'm proud to i'm proud to like this team i'm proud to cover this team that that's that's the That's all I got. That's it. That's it. You know, it's funny. We're talking with Muncie, you and I had the conversation earlier this year, at least unless I'm way off about it.
Starting point is 00:13:07 I'm pretty sure we asked. You're usually way up. Is Max Muncie a Dodger legend? I think this is just another one of those things that absolutely reaffirms his status as a legendary Dodger. He might not be, he's definitely not going to be a Hall of Famer. He's not somebody that every single generation of Dodger fan is going to talk about, but when you look at something like, people will be annoyed at this for sure.
Starting point is 00:13:35 You will be annoyed at this for sure. Oral Hersheyer is not in the Hall of Fame, but people talk about Bulldog and what he did for that team in 88. Those playoff performances, the big playoff moments, moments throughout the course of your career in a Dodger uniform. If you're not in the Hall of Fame, they still have the, with the Legends of Dodger baseball,
Starting point is 00:13:56 Max Muncie on his way to getting, getting a plaque there at Dodger Stadium. He is a very, very important. There's no, there's no reason that Max Muncie is not in the hall of very good or certainly in the legends at Dodger Stadium. 100%. I mean, it's a, and Kiki, too, for that reason as well. I mean, Kiki has had his unbelievable moments in the postseason.
Starting point is 00:14:25 So there's, there's a spot for that. There's a reason where are we put in the Muncie. I mean, right, honestly. Not not necessarily next to Kershaw, but maybe, maybe I don't know. I will push back on that. Muncie is not statue worthy. He is plaque worthy. I understand.
Starting point is 00:14:41 He was joking. He's not statue. Muncie knows he's not statue. But you know what? We can put a massive Max Muncie, Los Angeles Dodgers Stadium statue guy in front of Baylor where he went to school. I mean, like this kid is, again, thank you. Oakland Athletics before they were the Sacramento
Starting point is 00:15:01 Athletics. And thank you. Some huge moments in his career. Friend of the show, by the way. Friend of the show, Farhan Zaidi, for remembering his phone number and being like, let's try this guy out in 2017. Hey, we got a lot more Dodger's territory coming up.
Starting point is 00:15:21 We are first going to hear from our friends at Fowell Territory about stakes. KP, we both love. Omaha Steaks. My latest order, six private reserve filet mignon. It sounds bougie because it is. They were fantastic and also one and a half pounds of jumbo-cooked shrimp with a big initial discount and then an additional 35 bucks off with the code foul. You have been a long time Omaha Steaks guy too. Yeah, back in college, I would always order steaks. I'd put them in my freezer and that's the reason I bulked up is because I always had fresh steaks in my freezer.
Starting point is 00:15:58 ready to go. Delicious protein. Get after it. Okay. It is the best in the biz if you're ordering stakes online. You can save big with Omaha Steaks. Visit Omaha Steaks.com for 50% off sitewide and an extra 20% off select favorite during their early Black Friday sale. And for an extra $35 off use promo code foul at checkout. Terms apply. See site for details. That's 50% off at at Omaha Steaks.com. Promocode, F-O-U-L at checkout. out. Welcome back to Dodgers Territory presented by Fox 1. You see that bug up there. We'll talk more Fox 1 later on in the show. Check out the link in our description for more information. Also, if you're looking for a different way to support Dodgers Territory, check out the shop.
Starting point is 00:16:42 Dodgers Territory Shop.com. Scan that QR code. Also, there is a link down in the description to get yourself some postseason swagger that a knit cap, the beanie about to start becoming important for people, of course. But, uh, Riz, speaking of Omaha Steaks. We talked about it last night. My boy, Jacob Brownson, he's been on my other show before. Now he's your boy. By the way, I need that beanie stat from Dodgers Territory Shop.com.
Starting point is 00:17:08 I need a cold here in Massachusetts. Yeah, so Jacob all of a sudden is become a folk hero. Yeah. He was on CBS, Los Angeles, talking about all the stakes. I do, I am a little concerned about the cholesterol, but Omaha Steaks, our friend, our partner, has also sponsored
Starting point is 00:17:25 Jacob. And good for him. You know what? Good for him. They put who on the news. Huge things to Darren M. Hayes for telling the story. And CBS Los Angeles for airing it. This is so sick. God bless this kid. Hey, listen, I'm just saying. We appreciate it. Listen, he's got to do it again, right? He gets a day off tomorrow, mix in a salad. Mixing a salad. Go for a run. Six more steaks.
Starting point is 00:17:51 That's it, you know? That's all you need to do. And the way this team looks right now, it is just going to be six more stakes. But I think it's really cool that, you know, we happened to bring this up last night. And then he gets featured on CBS. So I'm just saying we are world-renowned influencers. It's important for us to get the love and. If this doesn't say influencer, I don't know what does.
Starting point is 00:18:12 Can Omaha Stakes send me? By the way, actually, I'm going to take one for the team. Omaha Stakes, I love you. I appreciate you being a part of our show. I don't want a package of Omaha Stakes. I want you to send my guy, Clint Paseas, who turns 40 on Friday. Omaha Stakes, send my guy a package of goodies that you would send Jacob. So Clint can enjoy it.
Starting point is 00:18:38 I'm in. And take part of all the good things. I am a big time steak guy myself, and I would love to get my paws on some rib eyes. I love steak, but I'm going to defer to you, my friend. Oh, Ma'll call me. Call me. Hey, Riz, you mentioned our buddy Enrique Kike Hernandez earlier in the show. And I want to focus a little bit on Kiktober because my co-hosts over on the All Dodgers, Jeff Snyder.
Starting point is 00:19:04 He's not given Kike the love and respect he deserves. So I'm calling him out right now before. This is an idiot. So hold on. Hang on. I'm going to see if I FaceTime. What are the odds that Kiki actually answers this FaceTime? I'm going with zero.
Starting point is 00:19:18 But go ahead. Keep talking. Okay. The point here, and Jeff and I will talk more about this in about 15, 20 minutes on the post-post game show. What I love about Kik Tober is that he's playing a little bit more of the facilitator role this postseason. He has 11 hits so far this postseason, I think is 11 for 30.
Starting point is 00:19:36 Four runs batted in, four walks, four. or sorry, seven runs scored four multi-hit games this postseason. Yeah, he's not hitting the big dingers. He's not doing like what he did last year against you, Darvish or whatever, but he's making some really nice plays in left field, filling in at third base when he needs to. And again, we will say it for the billionth time. This is why you re-sign this dude.
Starting point is 00:19:59 You don't care that he hits, you know, just under 200 or around 200 in the regular season. You call him for this, just like we talked to Andrew Friedman about, last off season. By the way, KKKK did not answer. He put me on red. He left me on red, which I'm not surprised. But yeah, this is the thing. We talked to Andrew Friedman, as you had mentioned, and what a development of Kike's progress, right? Like Andrew even said, I never thought there would be a time in which the guy that was wearing the banana suit, now all of a sudden became a leader in the clubhouse, a guy that other guys went to to talk to and get advice from. And it's, been an unbelievable progression and development and maturation process for Kike.
Starting point is 00:20:45 And I think, you know, not everyone understands him, but the people that do really appreciate him. And he has been such a force, not only on the field, but in the clubhouse of what he's meant to that team, what he's contributed to that team, what he's meant offensively on that team, defensively on that team when he's on the field. He's everything. And this is exactly why I wanted the Hernandez brothers on the team in the post season. This is why I said we must get to Oscar back. We must again, I don't care of if Kike in the regular season is 04. I don't care.
Starting point is 00:21:20 I don't care. I don't care if you get a hit in the region. I don't, I don't care. I don't care if you're like hitting less than Michael Conforto. You need to be on the postseason roster. Seriously. I've almost forgot about Michael Conforto at this point. That feels like a lifetime ago.
Starting point is 00:21:36 I was a different guy back then all the way back in September Alana you were a different guy 12 minutes ago stop but the point is I do feel that Kike is a massive even my husband who played in this in the in this game for 14 years was like he doesn't watch podcast he doesn't listen to the narrative he doesn't he's not on X he doesn't care he just doesn't care he's like Kike's just different in the postseason I'm like no shit where have you been so it's like yeah it's He is a different dude in the postseason. Kike is the guy you want on your team.
Starting point is 00:22:10 Absolutely. We got more Dodgers talk coming up here, not Dave Vasse shows, but, you know, conversation about the Dodgers. Before we continue, we want to tell you guys more about our friends at Fox One. All right, Fox One, we appreciate you guys so much. You have absolutely no idea. All of our playoff coverage is brought to you by Fox One. We're very lucky to hear that.
Starting point is 00:22:35 Fox One is now live stream all of your Fox favorites together in my place. including all AL playoff games and the World Series, Clint. The World Series one is going to be pretty dang important to us in about a week or so. But over in the American League, obviously the Dodgers are off tomorrow. You do have the ALCS continuing. The Mariners holding themselves holding a two games to none, a series advantage over the Blue Jays there. Great matchup going on tomorrow night with, what, 2020, AL-SYung Award winner,
Starting point is 00:23:06 Shane Bieber facing George Kirby. And the Mariners, the Mariners that the Dodgers swept to end the season, by the way. So that goes on tomorrow. Check that out on the Fox One app. You could also, if you need a break from baseball, Dodgers are off tomorrow. Go, you know, check out. They have this Foxtober haunts kind of collection or playlist on the Fox One app. Do check that out.
Starting point is 00:23:29 Get yourself into the Halloween spirit. But why don't you tell the people how they can get their hands on Fox One? I can appreciate that. From MLB post seasons, NFL and Fox to Big noon Saturdays with Fox 1, you get it all live. All of it, you guys, live. Start your seven-day free trial two-day offers are subject to change. Go to Fox1.com for complete terms and conditions Fox 1 streaming now. Aura, go.
Starting point is 00:24:00 Alana, we got game three happening for our Dodgers on Thursday. Another 3 p.m. start, Tyler Glassnow against I'm assuming it is Jose Quintana. the plan is having Glass pitch that game. So if there is a potential game seven, he would be able to start that game or take down some big innings. Do you like Glasnow over Shohei in game three? 100%. I do.
Starting point is 00:24:26 And it's funny. It's funny, funny, funny. It's like you're producing or Mark's producing. I had this conversation again with Chris, my husband. I do. I do like Glasnow going because if Glassnow gets into any sort of trouble, there's so many reinforcement. coming out of the bullpen. But the fact that Glassnow didn't have to, again, he doesn't have to be
Starting point is 00:24:47 the dude. When he was in Tampa Bay, he had to be the guy. Now he doesn't. And it's great. And it's a great position to be in. You have Snell shoved. Do you send them back out there? You should have? Maybe. Whatever. It was fine. It worked out. Yamamoto, complete game. Worked out. Glass now goes as long as he possibly can. There's no pressure. I really get the sense that Glasnow will be effective, aggressive, will go deep into the game. And if not, he has reinforcements. And it's okay. No bullpen arms reused tonight, Clint Paceous.
Starting point is 00:25:23 None. They have a day off tomorrow and their home on Thursday. So like, I feel great about Glasnow on Thursday. I do. I kind of agree with you. I think they sweep. I really do. No disrespect to the Brewers, but I think they sweep.
Starting point is 00:25:40 And if they drop one game, okay, fine. Yeah, we had the question from, from Caesar, Sazar earlier in the chat asking you, $5.00 Super Chat asking you, specifically you, Dodgers sweep, or is it in five or isn't six? I say, I'm going to go sweep, but if not, sweep five. I had four, but five makes sense. The Dodgers have been real good at that gentleman sweep.
Starting point is 00:26:06 And I mean, at some point, we expect the, you know the the gentleman sweep to happen which would be a five game series uh there is a thing i got to do as well so this comes from our buddy richie flores with one 99 super chat saying uh what's in the box what's in the box way to set yourself up have you guys okay but we need to kind of need to preface this right for our friends our peeps in the chat so what's in the box came from the movie seven right well i didn't know we're setting up the the the you know origin like rich rich richie flor Morris can't just say what's in the box. So there was like this movie.
Starting point is 00:26:43 He could say it because he got me a gift for my birthday. I picked it up from him today. Well, okay. So you don't want to step. Just like half, just half ass set it up. All right, Clint. Go ahead.
Starting point is 00:26:52 Go half ass set it up. Go ahead. I'm sorry I ruined your childhood right now, Alana. But, you didn't. But again, they got me,
Starting point is 00:27:01 Richie and Mrs. Richie got me a gift. And their one stipulation was it needs to be open on the stream because they want to see your reaction. I haven't seen what. in the box so far. I hope a half head falls out because that was in the, that was what was in the box in the movie.
Starting point is 00:27:19 Well, Mark put it in our chat here. Real nice. What's in the box? And it looks. What's in the box? Okay, this is, it's a mummy for one. It is a full-blown mummy that I am unwrapping here. Oh, my God.
