around again nature i've been in river i've never i can't remember last time i went hiking and hiked into a river and start swimming but i'm telling you when i when i experienced that like you say it was that zenful space and for the rest of the day i just felt at peace you know like i see why you know people spend like i'm almost bought a goddamn kayak the other day i went to the store because we had the rental guys and i'm always trying to show off right yeah always trying to take it too far right so i'm like this i'm like yo man i'm going on the river with the motherfucking dave chapelle summer camp i said i want to step my yak game up right i said what i could what could i do to ball out and step my kayak and experience and he said uh you might want to think about buying a

boat man i don't want no boat i want boat shoes i went in there i don't i was going to buy a kayak but i don't have nowhere to put it right i just got excited about it i was like man i was like and the canoes and kayaks they're not not that expensive. But when I went in there, I came out as a rugged motherfucker. You shop different in Ohio. Right. I saw a Marshall's and got excited. I was like, it's a Marshall's. And going back to like the simple.

I love Marshall's, by the way. Going back to the simple, you know, I just, I haven't been here in years. It used to be my go-to spot years ago. But this pandemic and the state of the wind, it makes you think about really what are the important things. Yes. When I come, you go to Ohio and you see my feet, like, God damn, they got one style of jean on here. Right.

If it doesn't say for the adventure in you, if it does not let me know that I could go from a trail to a creek or a river, I don't fucking want it now.

it would be dope to have a second home here. I could, I could definitely see this as a summer place. It's like,

You know, and it's like a mental, like you said, he was freaking out because, and I'll explain this, the process of summer camp and what we do is that the minute you come in, you got to get get a COVID-19 test. I know people see us on the Internet like, oh, yeah, I better be careful. Put your mask on. But no, we got to test it. Motherfucker. As soon as I landed, I got tested. I was scared. I was scared.

As soon as you landed, I was like, yeah, you get your own car. You know, you get your own car, meet you at the testing facility. Right. And, you know, you just traveled and you had a test recently. Yeah. Before you went to go see your parents. And it's still something that's nerve wracking about waiting. Hell yeah.

15 minutes, you'll be like this. And then two minutes, you're like, yeah, man. You know, you don't want to, you want to hear your name called with that band in the hand. You know, like, is there a Javanta? You're like, bitch, where my band? Right. But the process is, and I've had a couple friends that visit me out here. And I tell them, you know, it's kind of weird because, you know,

some people could take it personal. You're like, hey, man, you can go to the show, whatever. But if you want to mingle or socialize with us, you got to get tested. Oh, shit. Oh, man, you got to get tested. Oh, shit. Oh, man. I got a phone call. You haven't heard from him in a while. Get right.

But, like, when it's the only ticket, almost the only ticket in town, and you see how much people appreciate it and the efforts they make. But the thing that's so impressive, and I always say this and I have to say it,

the level that Dave goes to to provide safety for us as performers, for us as a family, I don't know if anybody's doing that. You have places to say, okay, you can't be this close to a person social distance and everything then you got

you know and and all the responsibility is you it's ride or die with the performers there's a couple comics that just was on the road to tested positive and i'm uh and a friend's mind i'm pretty sure they're gonna be okay but it's always still that opportunity that something could happen to you yeah but the effort that he he's putting into testing everybody even a hotel that uh that we're staying at they provided the testing for the entire staff the diners the uh the coffee places the whole little town he's provided testing for that. So as much as we are out here making history and having a good time, it's still the precautions to be safe. Like, dude has spent over a hundred grand just testing people so we could have a good time.
