hello everybody welcome i don't know what there were three different things going on there yeah i don't know it went from like count chocula like we were we were getting a lot we were getting a lot of different ones but what can i say i'm a performer welcome to another episode of but am i wrong two people who have never been wrong it's us hello we tell you when you're wrong other people when they're wrong sometimes ourselves when we're wrong but again that rarely happens it's a fun show think of this as shit talking with

your friends about pop culture and then people who you you know who are like hey like what should i do about this kind of thing and then they are essentially like soliciting your opinion which we love we do i love when y'all usual digits or your voice and you send us a message and then we get to read it i love to laugh i love to groan I love to skip sometimes and that's fine, but the participation is what I want. We love it. And speaking of participation, not only do we ask you to participate by submitting things for us to talk about, writing in with the things that you want to know if you're in the wrong about, but also we want you to vote on who you think was wrong in each segment on

from people or more drama more info there's a little maybe more things have progressed and happened since then it's a grand old time all right shall we get into our first segment we shall in our first segment is but am i wrong where we pitch to the other person if we want to know if we're in the wrong about something it could be something that has happened currently it could be a hot take it could just be a rant um it has brought us things such as big kale big egg big dairy as well as george santos yeah if you listen to this podcast you'll know people before everybody else does melissa taught us about him two thousand twenty twenty one twenty it was so early on it was so early on sperm racing yes today i've got a rant though and it's about something that really

grinds my gears. We've been having a lot of conversations these days about reallocating police funds, and I mostly agree. There are definitely situations where other agencies might be better equipped to handle things, but then you hear about cases, truly sickening cases, and it makes you wonder if we're losing sight of something fundamental, protecting ourselves from the real predators out there take the story that happened in bucks county pennsylvania this man warren shaffer allegedly goes into a mall bathroom where he works and exposes himself to a 15 year old boy and his excuse for doing this was that he thought this child was someone that he met on a dating app a grown man mistakes a child for an adult that he was trying to hook up

with in a public restroom at his job the 15 year old boy panicked ran out security got involved and thankfully this man was arrested and it just makes me sick to my stomach and then there's also the situation involving Derek Chauvin the man convicted in killing George Floyd a case that sparked national and international outrage highlighting issues of racial injustice and the immense harm one individual's actions can inflict on a community and a nation we're even hearing now about potential preparations which the governor who we are familiar with who should be our vice president right now there are potential preparations for civil unrest if president trump were to pardon him for his federal convictions think about that the very idea of potentially

undoing a conviction in such a landmark case a case that laid bare deep societal wounds and here's where my thinking goes a little differently than some of the current discussions well i believe in finding better ways to address many social issues when it comes to people like the two that i mentioned to the outright weirdos who prey on children and then you consider the profound impact of someone like that man that killed George Floyd and the potential fallout from a pardon, it makes you wonder, do we really need to go through the whole lengthy legal dance, the endless appeals, the constant uncertainty? I know, I know. The Constitution, due process, innocent until proven guilty. We hear it all the time. And in most cases, I agree.

And when you have someone allegedly preying on a child in a public place, someone who admits the act, even with some flimsy excuse. Does a part of you think, lock them away? When it comes to a police officer murdering a man in daylight, where the impact of his actions is so deeply felt and has a broad implication, the idea of a potential pardon can feel like a slap in the face to justice. That's why I'm proposing a new kind of agency, not for minor offenses, not for situations where de-escalation and community support might be more effective. No, this agency would be specifically for the truly depraved, the individuals who demonstrate a clear and present danger to our communities through their actions and their hateful ideologies, and perhaps even those whose actions have caused such profound societal harm and eroded public trust in fundamental institutions. Imagine an agency with the sole purpose of identifying, apprehending, and yes, locking up these individuals without the years of legal wrangling, the endless appeals, the possibility of them walking free to potentially harm others, or potentially undermining the pursuit of justice and healing.

Think about the peace of mind it would bring, knowing that the people who intentionally target children, who spew racist venom and incite violence, and perhaps even those whose actions have such seismic impact on society, are simply gone. Removed from society, unable to inflict their harm or further erode our sense of justice. Now, I can already hear objections. Who decides? what about mistakes what about the potential for abusers of power these are very valid concerns and any such agency would need incredibly strict oversight and ironclad safeguards against errors and biases the criteria would have to be crystal clear the evidence irrefutable but when i read about a child being violated in a mall bathroom or when i see the insidious spread of racist hate

online and in our communities and when I consider the ongoing ramifications of cases that people think the person shouldn't have been arrested in the first place, a part of me yearns for a more direct, a more immediate way to protect the innocent and isolate the malicious and to ensure that justice once served isn't so easily undone. This isn't about taking away rights from everyone. this is about focusing on a specific, dangerous segment of our society that seems to operate outside the bounds of basic human decency and respect, and in some cases, whose actions have such far-fetching and damaging consequences. Maybe this is a radical idea. Maybe it's legally impossible in its purest form, but when I see the pain and fear these kinds of individuals inflict,

I can't help but think there has to be a better way to protect our communities from the truly wicked among us and to ensure that justice holds firm in the face of potential reversals that could further divide us. We need to have a serious conversation about how we deal with the monsters in our society and whether our current system is always the most effective way to keep us safe and uphold the principles of justice. Am I wrong for being frustrated about my surgery being moved for cancer patients? I've had a few surgeries in the past to remove non-cancerous lumps from my breasts. I now have about 10 lumps in each breast, all about the size of a grape or larger, and have been planning to

get them removed. The doctor said she assumes they are the same as ones I've had in the past, but there's about a 50-50 chance they could be malignant without a biopsy. We talked about combining the lumpectomy with the breast reduction which would reduce the chance of having to have more surgeries to remove future lumps. Originally, my surgery was scheduled for March 10th. Then it was moved to April 28th. Then it was moved to May 12th. Then it was moved to May 19th and it has been moved again to June 9th.

They have said it continues to be moved because their cancer patients take priority and the surgeons can only do so many per day, which I totally understand, but it's frustrating to continue to mentally and physically prepare for surgery and also tell my employer that I will be out and then have to continue to backtrack. I was talking with some co-workers about how I was frustrated that they kept pushing this and how it's been living with constant anxiety about if these lumps could be cancer. And they said someone made a comment saying that I was being spoiled and privileged to be complaining when other people actually have cancer.

I completely understand why the surgery has continued to be moved, but I'm still frustrated and have been living in constant anxiety and the uncertainty of if when the surgery will take place has been destroying me lately. oh that's a lot i don't think you're wrong at all i don't think you're wrong at all because it could be cancers and they won't know and then like it's continually if it is which i pray it's not it's continually to grow within you without them knowing exactly what's going on in your inside your body yeah and like we know how the american health care system works that like this is not an uncommon thing where yes certain things take priority over that but like they are taking a

50 risk over like they're taking a they're taking a chance of being like this person has a hundred percent risk let's say and this person has a 50 chance of a hundred percent risk and we're picking the 50 but we're not picking zero we're not picking we're not like rescheduling a nose job like a purely cosmetic procedure for this yeah i think i think you're not wrong at at all i also think you wouldn't be wrong if you talk to some other options of providers and i also think you wouldn't be wrong if you split up the surgery and said i get a lumpectomy right i'm back to me yeah if you get a lumpectomy and then you have to split that up from doing a breast reduction which i understand that totally sucks but like for your own anxiety and like and health health too yeah

for your own mental health and your own physical health yeah so i think that that's a good call and then also you know i've i've never had to do a surgery in that way through not a plastic like i got my the only surgeries i've ever had was like wisdom teeth and then my nose job so i don't know i know that like the wait times in general for breast reductions are much lower at plastic surgeons because they are not having to rank you with there's like very there's not as often and also there are some plastic surgeons who like don't do reconstruction for like trauma accidents and like that kind of stuff so like they really only do cosmetic procedures that are not like timely life-saving ones it can be like you know affirming surgeries and all that stuff but

it's usually not in like a trauma we have to get this done stat kind of a thing and i don't know if it's possible to do uh because sometimes some doctors can do certain and then they send it to a different lab like they send it to a different doctor to do a biopsy on x y and z or whatever but this to me is like you should not have to keep going through this and also at what point is there not someone is there not someone with cancer who's not going to take priority because how are you going to find it you know i mean like where does it if it keeps happening like this like what's the rate of how often are you doing these surgeries in general like if it's like oh we do them this often well then it doesn't seem like there's unless there's a

cancellation or like something like that like it's not going to happen in that way but yeah i don't think you're wrong at all i think this is like a very naive thought from your co-workers yeah so um please keep us updated and i hope that you're able to move this for soon or that the june date will be the final date and i don't know if you've i'm sure you've already asked but i don't know because you know depending on your like schedule of i think it's an it's important enough that like getting yourself if you're not already on a cancellation list and even though you said that like you prepare your your boss for when you need the time off and all of that but like at a certain point i think like if it's more likely that you'll get through with this with this doctor who you

already have and all this kind of stuff if you do a cancellation appointment and that i think is more that's allowed to like do that and then be like hey i got it i got in the last minute cancellation I'm actually going to be out now for three weeks. That to me, I think, is your ultimate, your health is your ultimate responsibility, not making sure that it is convenient for everybody that you work with. Because right now, no one's making sure

that your convenience is prioritized. Right. All right. Next one. Hi, Megan and Melissa. I-31, she, her, work in the hospital as an operating room nurse. Very medical episode.

I have several coworkers, 20s to early 30s, routinely go on surgical medical mission trips separately, not together. While on these trips, they post pictures on Instagram of the patients with their faces fully shown, even occasionally while under anesthesia. This bothers me because one, I doubt they have consent. Two, they would never do this to one of their patients in the U.S. And three, many of these patients are children. The whole thing is so upsetting and problematic to me. I know it sounds obvious, but there are so many people praising these co-workers for their volunteer work that I just need to check them. am i wrong to find this disgusting and unethical

no you're not wrong at all i do wonder what's like the protocol of that is it literally just because it's not in the u.s that it doesn't adhere by but like are they going through the hospital you work at because the hospital you work at the rules that they have about like patient confidentiality should still typically apply if it's like a again through said hospital it's probably through a medical mission type trip but if it's sponsored by the hospital the hospital still then associated with it and then usually they don't though again usually those rules like still apply but yeah i mean i if there's like no like legal recon for this to me it's just your co-workers have made it incredibly easy to know who you do not want to fuck with

their ethics don't align with yours no and i also find this like really extra icky when it comes to like you know the white savior complex but like when there's also like people who do get to play god who also have that it's like a it's like a double whammy of being like oh you really feel like you are a gift to this world and you are really utilizing like your platform your power your prestige your all of these kinds of things to hoist yourself up above all these people like it's it really it's again my time talking about it multiple times my plastic surgeon who did my nose who like has done my Botox who's like wonderful Dr. Vartanian I recommend him to everybody he's fantastic he like one of his huge thing is is like charitable efforts where he

goes different places in the country and does free surgeries not like like it's like you know trauma free surgeries for people who have whether it's like a birth defect that is like getting in the way of their daily life it's like people who have been victims of x y and z and doing all that you know I'm not I don't see that do what I mean like it's not wow praise me for this it's like hey he can't be scheduled because he has this thing didn't even I was like oh it's not everybody talk about how fantastic and wonderful I am so yeah but I think if there is like a chance that this is like not allowed I also don't think you'd be wrong if you sparked up a conversation if they talking about it and being like you know i've always thought like we should apply those same

rules that we do for like patient confidentiality to everybody or if it's not allowed report them yeah and if it's a gray area report them even even if if there's no hard and fast rules about write a letter talking about how you don't think that this is ethical or what the organization stands for it's not a good look no all right well we're gonna take a break when we get back we'll get into but are they wrong we are back it's time for but are they wrong this is where we nominate a person plays with things on pop culture current event zeitgeist who we think deserves some shame shame shame all right my pick for this week is highway superintendent john riley i don't know if

you heard about this disturbing story that happened in new york but there's this uh town official in chester who is the highway superintendent superintendent who's been accused of shooting a door dash driver who got lost and was just trying to ask for directions there's even video because he did it on his ring camera what is a highway superintendent a highway superintendent is a public official responsible for managing and overseeing the operations of a highway department to the boss of the highway department this man the driver came up and as he was trying to leave in his car the driver was hit and seriously injured by the bullets like can you imagine you're just trying to do your job and you get lost and you get hit

by a bullet from someone who was in charge of the streets did he shoot him from his car so the door dress driver was leaving after like going to the door and asking for directions well he was planning on asking for directions but the man didn't come to the door and so then the man goes out with his gun as the driver is going back to his car and shoots him in the back just starts firing off shots and it's like what is causing that why are you mad that someone came to ask you for directions yeah that's not and i mean they go they go really you know loose with their definitions of who it applies to for stand your ground laws but like that is like there's no framing of that that is legitimate in a standard ground law like yeah so riley

was arrested but then released on bail and now he's actually back to work remotely the town supervisor has spoken out saying it's causing a huge distraction and even safety concerns for other town employees who are dealing with angry calls from people all over the country who've heard about this the local authorities are investigating and i don't know again this is somebody straight to jail it's on camera yeah no you would think this could be cut and dry right and like i'm sorry i actually didn't know that they're first of all i didn't know there was a superintendent of a fucking freeway and like let alone did i know that that person was gonna have like pull in a way of being like gotta protect our own right what the local authorities

are investigating and they're looking into whether it could be a hate crime the town supervisor and the town board have publicly called for the highway superintendent to resign but because he's an elected official in new york they don't actually have the power to force him to step down the supervisor explained that the only way he'd be removed other than resigning himself would be if he's convicted of a crime can be impeached this is just like for this fake job i mean it makes sense that there's somebody that is the i didn't know it was like so deeply important and like a protected class that you go actually the only way i'm out is if i die like that's a lot that's like the situation is so messed up

you just just imagine that you're just this delivery driver who was just trying to do his job and ended up seriously hurt. And then you have this elected official who's accused of this violent act and is still technically in his position. It raises a lot of questions about accountability and how communities deal with something like this. The case is expected to go to grand jury, so we'll see what happens. But even from the outside, you can see why people are so upset and calling for justice for the driver. Essentially, even without being part of this specific town i think that this is this is bonkers like it's crazy that it is on camera it's literally on camera on his own ring camera of him doing this heinous act and it's just like
