with it i'm excited so i have just a rant and you guys should be so glad that i'm coming to you a couple days on the cool down of this because i was a cartoon of smoke coming out of my ears i have now kind of gone to like the depressed resigned stage of it but it's still really fucking annoying and i would just like to take a moment to rant about insurance first and foremost say free my boy luigi because boy oh boy moths when this was all happening he literally said i get i always got why he did it but like i really i this is why he did it and it's crazy that even after this nothing has really fundamentally changed though i will say I've never had a more helpful insurance rep in my life and I do think that's because she was

probably afraid for her life and I was like can't kill you over the phone ma'am but um yeah so Matz and I people are asking like how I've just talked about how I am now on his insurance and people are asking like how if we're not married we are registered registered domestic partnership I don't know how easy or hard that was he did it I signed a paper at a notary there you go and it was we were assured so many times and we like looked for all the options that we were getting the exact same plan but just a family plan a tandem plan and it's the same of everything i can't stress that enough i remember when you told me after like had to read 150 pages of all this shit and then you literally talked to the insurance person they assured you that it was

the same because we specifically said i already have like a care team established i want to make sure that i can still go to them and it's not going to because like sometimes when it doesn't overlap right like i want to make sure that like i can still go to my cardiologist if i need and i need to get a refill of my pro my beta blocker if you know if that exact prescription runs out on refills like i need to be able to do that stuff and we were assured assured assured assured and I've been going to appointments. I had dual coverage for a bit. There was an overlap to just make sure everything worked and everything was fine. And I had gone to an eye doctor and that was great. And it was perfect. That was fine. I had gone to... Well, the dentist is not through

that exact one or whatever. But I was going to my PCP and doing everything. And when I fully switched over fully switched over and my last insurance at lapsed and ended which was beginning of January or beginning of December something but a long fucking while a long goddamn fucking while I had made sure I inputted my new insurance on the platforms on online on everything and they'll call you before like 24 hours before your appointment for a reminder and they ask if you have your if your insurance has changed or everything's updated and I always was like I did put new insurance in. Can you read the number back to me? I just want to confirm that that's the one you have. Yes. And then I think my biggest downfall was the phrasing I used.

And I was like, so is that all good? And they said, yep, that is all good. So then when I would go to my doctor's appointments and I would check in, I would also with the receptionist say, hey, I have a recently new insurance. I did add it. One of them just it's not one of them is not active. You can't even bill it. But I just want to make sure you have that one. And it's all good. I put it in last week. And I talked to someone yesterday and they said it was all good. Can you just triple check? Go in the system, the triple check and they go, yeah, all good. What I didn't know was that all good was only all good if I was all good paying out of pocket because they were now out of network and nobody felt the need to tell me. So I had an ENT appointment. Today's Thursday's

recording this i had an ent appointment on monday and i was like oh i should i should like make sure i like pay my bill and i had gotten a bill through my like the medical app so i had like the hospital cedars app and it was a much higher bill than it was 300 something dollars and i was like i can't be right but i was just kind of being like oh maybe that's what they're sending me and my insurance hasn't fully processed it yet so i'll wait you don't have to pay it immediately right away i assumed it was just going to go down. It needed to be fixed. And then I was like, or maybe it's like my deductible. It's kind of like I have to pay the most at the beginning of the year for my meds. And then they get cheaper and cheaper, but you have to reach that deductible. So maybe it's

that. And there is a deductible that we have that's like a 300 something. And so I was like, maybe I'll ask Moss about it. And so I had asked him about it on Friday and he was like, no, I think that's just like an error. Like that's that to me just looks like a straight up error. Have you looked on the insurance website? And I was like, oh, good call. look on the insurance website again this is friday and when i log in there it says first payment three hundred dollars second payment one thousand one hundred and fifty dollars and i'm like hold up what and uh i try to expand it and i open it and it says the doctor's name that is not the doctor i went to uh and then when i click for see this doctor's information because it's out of your

network it says error sorry i can't show you this page and i'm like what so i have an appointment on monday they're not available on the weekend you can't call them on the weekend so monday morning i wake up bright and early and i call this woman who i call my insurance agent agency the insurance and uh i am matz has convinced me that this is a mistake he's like there's this is not this isn't no that's not how much it would cost for a office appointment it is cheaper with his insurance than it should have been with mine your my appointment should have been cheaper so like even with like my like yes my copay and i got a nasal endoscopy there but even with that it should still be cheaper because i've already had a copay and a nasal endoscopy

at the same place with my old insurance the woman is lovely i will give her that and she also is like oh yeah that has to be a mistake you know there's so many different ways they can bill us that they are only covered under there's so many ways of cedars to be written out and there's so many ways of like blue shield to be written out that they could have been it just could have been like signals are crossed they accidentally build the wrong thing and that's why it's saying it's not covered so she comes back after a couple minutes and goes so uh it is looking like it is out of network they do accept the ppo plan but they don't accept the tandem ppo plan and i am shocked and she goes but you've already established care there and nobody told you no so she's

confident that I'm not going to have to pay all the money. But then she did say she wrote up a report for me, but then was like, and if they don't accept it, just keep trying and trying and trying again. And then I go, oh, hold up. I just had a telehealth appointment on Friday morning with my primary care. Do you think that would be under there? And she goes, well, we don't have it on our end yet, but we'll see. I was like, but you should dispute that, too. So I then have to call my auntie to cancel the appointment that I'm about I'm supposed to leave for in 20 minutes for my additional nasal endoscopy because my doctor is not convinced

that the antibiotics will have fully gotten rid of the infection. And then also wanted to get me a CT scan, which I also had to cancel. And I do some digging. And I initially asked the insurance agent being like, so when I look online, it says they take this insurance.

And she goes, so they're not specifying if it's tandem PPO, even though they'll have all these other numbers after. Like, no, they're not going to specify that. And they might've thought that they took that insurance, but they don't know. So they could have knowingly lied or unknowingly lied. But in general, you shouldn't trust their word. And I was like, so what should I do to make appointments then? She goes, you can just call us after every time I want to make a doctor's appointment.

Because take in mind, doctors leave insurance all the time. Like, it's not like, oh, I called one time. Therefore, I know they're in my network. I've gone to a dermatologist before when they suddenly were out of network and I had no idea. OK. And then she goes, but you can also utilize our website. And that's a great way to find doctors. And here I use the Cedars website all the time. Very helpful. There's photos. I can judge a book by their cover. Hate me all you want. It's been very helpful so far. And I was like, okay. So I'm wondering also because the ENT is on like a smaller offshoot, like it's still Cedars, but it's a smaller offshoot location. So I started digging. Not a single doctor I go to takes this new insurance. Not my primary care,

not my pulmonologist, not my cardiologist, not the OBGYN that I had preemptively scheduled my pap smear with because they keep hounding me saying your pap smear is overdue that I had four months to wait for that. Nope. ENT. Nope. The endocrinologist, my primary care wants to refer me to. Nope. The allergist, my ENT wants to refer me to. Nope. None of them. Not a single goddamn one. And I log on to the insurance website to be like, OK, let me let me see what I'm working with here. I can only assume that the first five pages of OBGYNs, which I thought was a pretty easy one to start with, have either disappeared or died because I call, they have no idea who I'm even talking about. I don't even think the people who answered the phone were alive the last time

that doctor was practicing there or that phone just kept ringing. No one picked up. And when I finally got someone on the line who said, yes, that doctor still works here. Yes, we do take PPO tandem insurance. And I said, they said, when do we want to schedule your part? I was like, wonderful let's schedule they ask me my due date and I say oh I'm actually not pregnant I'm so sorry we only see patients that are pregnant huh what the fuck like the website is so poorly built like there are sometimes like there are pages where it's supposed to be showing me 50 results I just see one one next page one one one none of it's updated none of the phone numbers are updated they're going to the wrong places and it is like maddening because at this point I will say

that right now i am at the closest brink i have been to a medical breakthrough on why i've been feeling the way i've been feeling i was on a high i literally had a whole week of appointments before and i was like i'm crushing it i'm killing it like i'm i'm getting it done you even to go to the doctor oh my god and i'm like finally i also feel like there's been a level of urgency or like momentum that i've had that now that my fucking test results are showing hey your cortisol really fucking high and not a level that you can get like if you were stressed it's not that so that my doctor my primary has a level of like not even just urgency but momentum to being like we're gonna we gotta figure this out all of this kind of stuff and thank god the only good thing from

this is that my labs were covered because holy shit would i be in debt like if that if those were not covered but i at this point what must i had to have a conversation being like okay so he was like, I don't like that you're going to have to like start from scratch. He was like, what if we just get you another insurance for just like we do will cover you. I'm like, no, they're like we're saving so much money this way. And it's fine. I'm fine. Switching ideally to another hospital that has like a whole especially because a lot of people are giving me referrals and like that's just a lot easier. But I now have to knowingly pay out of pocket for my next primary care visit, what will be the results of my 24 hour urine test. And then from there,

my doctor, my primary care will want to give me a referral to an endocrinologist and I will have to go, do you know any in the network that you don't work with? Because that's it. And then I have to be like, okay, bye, sir. And start all over. And like, now it has to be like, okay, what's the most important rank? What's most important to like start with? Because I spent an hour trying to find an OBGYN and it didn't work so like it's it's not like this the simple quick and easy process to do this like it's time and energy and also building up the frustration of being on hold with shitty fucking hold music for like 20 minutes and trying to get someone to get someone to all I want you to do is swab my vagina like you tell me I have to come do this every so often and you won't do it

unless I'm about to unless I'm pregnant it's just backwards especially for it's it's horrible everywhere obviously insurance fucking sucks but all i'm saying is like insurance is so bad for it to be like this in a city that has some of the best hospitals in the country we have so many hospitals yeah i'm so sorry like this fucking sucks i don't understand why we can't just go to a doctor and insurance just cover it period i don't understand that i'm not even asking for that at this point i'm also i'm asking for this uh no doctor will list that they take tandem ppo they don't even know what that means because it's supposed to be the exact same thing it's supposed to be in the upper someone was like look on zocdoc i go i can't zocdoc doesn't filter for

that like it's just this level of like if i have to get out my like benefits handbook and find a serial number on the bottom that's like a cheat code to enter x y and z and then the only people who can tell me if they take my insurance is my insurance who doesn't want to cover me i'm supposed to believe them huh like it's so fucked and it's so fucking backwards and i think in general when you i'm not like a kaiser fan if anyone is familiar with kaiser i'm like really not but like i think in general when you make every specialist so individual and no one talks to each other no one communicates and there is no like hub and portal for people to get like health needs that are more specific like that I just think that people just don't go to the doctor

then like they just it makes it too hard and like one of the things you can search for on the insurance website is like search for an ailment and so I was like for OBGYN I like stopped doing OBGYN and started putting gynecologists because I was like okay it went from 4,000 results to like 10 results and I was like are you kidding me because it's of the ones that aren't just doing maternal care and the most of them are doing gynecological oncology and i go so i don't have cancer who can do my fucking pap smear like where is this bridge of this and then i looked up endometriosis they said unfamiliar and i go okay we don't even have that in your search results terms very cool very cool and they just make it so hard that matz was like he was like i i just

get it on a whole other level of when and also like you know luigi finally got the care that he like he finally got the and then it was just nothing and then it's like you're having to chase people down when you're at your worst no no no no no no do i still think he didn't still think that man's innocent but even if i also think in general the crime is not a real crime nope agree yeah and people are being like you should just do one of those concierge healthcare services. I totally understand that in general, I'm never going to like sing the praises of a system that is entirely built without using insurance. I'm just not going to because they're not taking Medicaid. Like that to me is a fundamental problem. Like I'm not on Medicaid,

but like, I think if people are like, here's the solution, but by the way, we don't take Medicaid. I'm like, that's not a fucking solution then. But those, you can only go to primary and gynecology. That's it. That is it. You can't go to specialists. You can't get lab work done. imaging is not covered all of those things so like I understand that this is like that can be a solution like a premium solution for people whose medical needs are like they go to the doctor once a year but like I had I had two cameras stuck up my nose this year and I'm supposed to have a third like there's it's just more complicated than that and there is no help or solution for that and no one's even in the biotech space no one's even trying to build that they're like fuck it we'll

just have like a really cute um instagrammable pop-up shop where you can get your titties squeezed and get a mammogram and then we don't take any medicare for that and i'm like okay weird i hate it and that's my rant you're not wrong you're not wrong and keep raining about that as often as you want to i'm looking on the bright side that this is i can pay out of pocket for my follow-up appointment and he will already he will have already been reached the scope of what my pcp can do so i have to be referred to an endocrinologist for additional blood tests that he can't order and for other things and so i'm like okay so then i just start with an endocrinologist and then everything else i'll figure out fucking later yeah and well we're gonna take a break

even know what song you're talking about those two not on my radar at all and i said two people that we love oh you're right you did say that and i ignored that part yeah i do not love benny blanco i have no affinity for that man and his fetish for feet so sabrina and dolly auntie dolly release a song little cousin sabrina release a remix to please please please and on this song they made it a countrified version of it which i'd say it easily lends itself to that after we've seen tiny deaths but the way that their voices are blending together on this song makes it worse and a remix should make a song better they also changed the line don't embarrass me motherfucker to don't embarrass me like the others which takes away version why are they and the actual clean

version doesn't even say that i forgot what it says but it's not even that i think it is but i don't know why dolly's a full-grown woman but she doesn't she's not she doesn't use bad words like that though okay i feel like she could have been on songs that use bad words yeah she just didn't sing it but they're singing it together in harmony and their voices don't really harmonize well together and i don't know why they picked this song this is the wrong song to do you know what they should have done yeah slim pickings and that would have lent itself better one it hasn't been released as a single so then it could have been a new thing two it lends itself more to both of their voices and it would have been a better song and a better i wouldn't

say better like i think it would have been as equally as good as what slim pickens is right now it's one of my favorite songs on the album but it wouldn't have made for a worse song well i don't think please please please is one of the popular songs on the album i think it's like low-key the worst choice to make but it's just the most popular song besides espresso and they could have made slim pickings that yeah and it would have been great i don't know whose idea this was unless it was dolly's idea herself then fire that person this is a label idea to me i guess i don't understand and it has charted on the country's charts but it sounds bad it's just not good no it's kind of the opposite of what ariana and cynthia's voices did in wicked

and i also think like specifically of how ariana sings in wicked both of their vocals are very clean and sabrina and dolly both have like very like very clear recognizable tones to their voice and that's hard to blend because you both have very similar tones you know i mean like there's the way you sing in a group versus how you sing solo and some voices blend and very lend well to that and others they don't they don't and this was not it this wasn't it i think it was a mistake the video they look like they're having fun i thought that too that i was like you know it's cute sabrina does have a way of just getting random people together like she's a good time i she is like she is everywhere and it seems like everyone likes her i like her and it's hard for

So after that, he dismissed me and I went back to work. But now I'm seeing a therapist because of it. I know I hate my job and it's been making me depressed, but hey, free therapy. I feel bad, but I also don't care. Am I wrong for scaring my manager to prevent myself from being fired? P.S. I'm sensitive, but be brutal.

I will bet you so much money that your boss was not going to fire you in that moment. Why didn't you ask them what they actually wanted? Like, what if they were just like, hey, could you cover so-and-so's shift? And then they go, we can't. We can't do it. We can't do that. They're a little too.

They're on the brink. I can't put any more on their plate. Like, I would bet so much money that they were not firing you in that moment. Yeah. Because that's also a weird way to fire somebody. got laid off from her job over a year ago and she and it was like a a lot of um she worked in corporate for a big company and then they just like once friday was like bye we no longer exist the end we're done not just for you for everybody for everyone yep and she has been steadily applying for jobs for over a year going on interviews usually they're just hiring people that are already working there and they have to do this for legal purposes where they multiple interviews at the same companies yes and so like and it was it was all just like a game to keep one hr active and two because they were never planning on hiring her anyway so the job market right now is not good she just got a job like they told her this month and she

starts next month and it's at a large company and she'll be working in corporate and it's a great job where she is making a good deal of money but it took her a while to even get there same with a few other people i know like the job market is not and they're all in different parts of the country the job market is not great right now keep applying keep like looking for other jobs but it's it's hard out there 401k do not use your 401k to cover bills while you're taking a break from your job that it is there for your retirement and you get a large penalty if you take it out before then so don't do that well also i think for as long as you can make money in a 401k it you saying this i have a feeling that they're gonna let you work on easy mode so like if there

are parts of if there are parts of your job that make your job worse that you hate so much even like little things like i hate being stuck in traffic in the morning ask if you can shift your schedule like ask if you can push to be for like or whatever or ask if you can what like different little things like that or find give yourself a reward system of something that you can only do on your commute that you like love like listening to an album or something but along the lines of like what can you do to make it slightly less miserable and how can you like grab those little things to make it slightly less miserable not to stay there forever and make a spreadsheet i don't know how to make a spreadsheet make a spreadsheet and see how much money the longer you the longer

you stay until you have a new job that you're contributing to your 401k hoping it's 401k match and then what the penalty would be if you took it out like viewing it in front of you because quitting your job is not the solution to hating your job because then the issue is you don't have a job yep it's exchanging for a problem make you more depressed especially now since you found out that you have therapy there at your job like free therapy so it can help you the therapy is going to help you there's probably a lot of other perks that your job has that you don't know about and you should ask and figure out they probably have like a lot of places will give you a free gym membership yeah i was gonna say yep you can um sometimes you can spa like service like just

memberships anything that's monthly it can be you this is a great thing that i did when i had like insurance through a company as far as like a company i'm working for not my own company because when you have a small business insurance is not great no no no not at all when i was working for a big company i my insurance would cover like chiropractors and i wasn't going for the chiropractor they had massage therapists there so i would go get massages and the co-pay might have been like five dollars and i could go once a week too like it was great and even with the gym stuff like where i used to work out sauna i was gonna say in the sauna 90 of the people that i would see there worked in the corporate building above them and they had that membership and they

would literally just be in a sauna and sometimes they had pool like people dip in a pool like yeah that's so nice so fucking nice and even like it can be sometimes like even simple things sometimes like they have deals with restaurants for like lunch specials for things like it can be cheaper that way or just what like there's so many little things that there are those small benefits for and the therapist is probably a very good person to ask about that too yep or even hr hr is the main person that you should be asking that's their job the therapist will also give you tips on how to make this job so it's not as depressing and maybe it's also like it might be this certain department that you're currently working in and there's something you're

qualified in a different part of the department see if you can switch where you're currently working also i think a great hack in general is to when you hate your job have a fake epiphany that you're actually just not feeling challenged enough and then get yourself a promotion while you still look for another job and then quit like yep and then it makes you look better too for the next job like give yourself a title a better title like if you just if getting through the day if it's a fucking slog to get through the day the day needs to change and like it needs to something needs to restructure in that and it might be working in a different department it might be doing whatever if it's you hate a fucking co-worker or you hate whatever like

or just like anything it sucks being on your feet so long or you want to be on your feet more and you're sitting for too long there are other things like that where i think if immediately your manager is like we have free therapy I think you sound like quite you sound valued in that instance and make it work for you until you have something else lined up and set up but looking for a job when you don't have a job is like looking for a relationship when your lease is up it's your it skews your standards and you don't really you don't feel as confident and yeah and it's it's like i said it's a tough fucking time and i know lots of people who went through that too and like it's it's brutal but they drag it on for so long on purpose and sometimes you get the job at the

end and then sometimes they're they had no intention of hiring you so i've been interviewing for a job for months like i'm still in the running they literally called me last week for another interview it's a writing job matz's last matz's job that he's at now i think he had talked to them for i don't know it felt like three months more but it felt like a bajillion and i was like oh my god and like it was just so so so so so so so long and it has no reflection of your skill level or anything like that it's literally about when they're ready for it and like when they're making the moves but a lot of the time a lot of people are trying to make themselves look busy so they don't get fired and then that ends up leading a lot of other people on and pretending that

they're hiring for things that they're never hiring for i understand that well because i do the same thing in casting they hold all these auditions but they already knew the who they're going to hire they already had an offer letter out and they're just waiting on the contract to be negotiated as i'm scrambling to memorize six pages of lines very cool very cool but this is the time to figure out what capitalism can do for you yeah i've heard stories about crazy shit that jobs will do for people so like tell them you're stressed about rent and then maybe they'll pay your rent yeah you're like i just want a house maybe you're like i want to go back to school they may yeah pay for school i literally know of companies who refinance mortgages for people yeah

who paid for flights home for the holidays pay for relocation yeah so and there might be things like they can also bring in like i've heard i've seen people they're like i'm i don't like the chair that i even sit on at work and like that adds to your stress and hating work and they go buy like a 500 executive chair and they're like you know what now my back doesn't hurt and i don't hate this job as much yeah i always think about it like when you look at something like the google campus and you see all the crazy shit that they are doing it's because sure at the end of the day like they try and claim it's the tech it's the tech it's the tech no it's the fucking people bitch you wouldn't have a jungle gym here if you weren't so desperate to have people in the office

So Amanda Hergen-Rutter, a veterinarian, saw a 16-year-old pit bull mix tied to a truck. She described the dog as being lethargic and distressed. Because she's such a compassionate person,

she took the dog named him big b to her clinic there she performed a life-saving procedure treating a severe urinary tract infection and removing a rotten tooth four months later big b is now thriving however chris hamilton the unhoused man claims that big b is his beloved dog vinnie he says that he only left vinnie tied up to the truck for 45 minutes while he went to a gas station when he came back he was told his dog had been taken he expressed his deep sorrow saying i just want my dog back i felt like i lost part of my body after that yeah the kent the kent county prosecutor has charged purge and render whatever that woman's name is with larceny and a misdemeanor they argue that regardless of circumstance taking somebody's property without

their consent is theft. A prosecutor named Chris Becker stated, you don't have a right to just take something because you feel like something's wrong. People have a very big attachment to their dogs. Hergen Rinder, on the other hand, maintains that she acted out of concern for the dog's well-being. Her attorney then pointed out that Hamilton never properly licensed the dog and questions if he is capable of providing adequate care. So with this, you know, it adds, it asks questions, where does compassion end and legality begin? How do we balance the welfare of an animal with the rights of its owners, especially when the

owner is facing significant challenges? And so then there's an upcoming trial on March 6th, And they will attempt to answer these questions. It will force us to consider the value of animal compassionship, the responsibilities of pet owners, and the limits of well-intentioned actions. So. I'm not on her side at all. I'm not on her.

saw what happened so you could have just waited and been like hi i am a veterinarian i can help this dog out because how do you know that the dog has a urinary tract infection unless you take it back to your place and you were looking in the urinary area also he said he was gone inside the gas station right for 20 for 45 minutes so i'm guessing he was probably at like where he lives um and then walked to the gas station and came back and by the time he came back the dog was gone so for me as someone who like i have seen dogs wandering in areas of like la close to fast like with no one around i have i have seen i have wait there are times where i haven't even gotten out of my car but i have seen like a kid and i haven't seen an adult in the vicinity i've

pulled over and i said i'm just gonna wait here five minutes i'll i'll start to get out of my car not go kids not moving kids not going any like sitting in this area but seems to be alone 40 minute i'm right if you 45 minutes there and back i think you had to untie that dog quite quickly and look over your shoulder and make like there's no way you checked with it there's no way you did all of those things to it did you check the microchip like all of those things to then be like no i was saving this dog you should be thanking me how would you like if you really thought that this you would have gave the dog care and then returned him by the way a dog that is missing is not tied up huh that's like a bike that's locked and saying it's a free bike no no

someone took the time and the effort to do this part like this isn't like a fucking cartoon where a dog is it is that there are like weights tied to the dog and they're gonna throw it and if the dog's in a train track tied up in front of a train track yes untie the fucking dog but like clearly someone's coming back and like you said it's probably like visibly and that's probably why she felt comfortable taking it is because she was like someone is saying like this is someone's residence at this point this is looks like an encampment of whether multiple people or a singular person.
