telling Melissa how I desperately need her to, we've talked about, we were going to watch holiday and talk about it together, but now I've tasked Melissa that she needs to watch it with her sisters and then we can talk about it. Oh, i feel like we haven't talked on this podcast and it's important that we do that our close personal friend in front of the podcast is with child kiki kiki palmer yes having a baby uh she called us up personally she sent us like little basket to be like will you be my godmother godmothers of my child and we were like kiki you're pregnant Oh, my girl, of course we will. So happy for you. The baby shower was beautiful. We had so I like wonder how if I need to scale it back, because I feel like every day we're getting closer. And the only thing in the way is that the technicality that we haven't met her yet. But I do feel like I could get in our way by just coming on a little too strong.

she's in a great fashion era and i feel like they're gonna be really cute and they don't even have to be practical she doesn't have to leave the house you could just take a cute picture as she does a little photo shoot picture and then pop her sweatpants on i love that people are like it's gonna be such a beautiful baby i know it's always hard when i have something that i was like oh i gotta show like i'm like oh it's something to either tell melissa i'm like was it a tiktok i had to show you was it something i wanted to talk like it was just a vague thing of like something on your phone from melissa and i'm just like okay i think i made a note a list of things i'm pretty sure i did when i was laid up in bed sick i was thinking of things

that's the time to do it but it always comes to me i don't oh it was only one thing i started making lists but then i didn't put anything else i said it says the title of it is talk about and then i have dead to me the tv show well let's talk about dead to me i just do you watch it the amount no i've wanted to though is it worth it to watch it it's so fucking worth it i think you would love because the humor in it is the kind of humor that we have where like they're rude to each other but like in a way that's funny but friendly and but like to them it's funny and outside people don't see it but are i i okay that's is intriguing to me because there's nothing i hate more than like people who are like oh my god like it's just like we're

friends they're like being mean to each other i'm like there's a huge difference between how other people do it and how we do like do you know what i mean yeah yeah there's an understanding like they understand each other on a level that other people don't and there's just like there's so much to it's so rich like there's it's just like so much undercurrent to what's happening it's so much deeper and also there's just there's a lot of things that you again it's one of those series where they knew how it was going to end and so they like flashback and say things that happened in the past that were there and you just in you in like you go i want to go back and watch it all again because now i'm like now that i know it i'm like they planted all this

i love when they tie those little things up i i don't know why and this might have been just like i made this up but was it like was it compared to fleabag like is it one that like has like an emotional like part of it or no there it is an emotional part but i don't i don't think it's the same as fleabag at all like it's not the same show it doesn't have the same tone it's not the same like the same emotional part that like you know you don't realize that it's gonna like uh like slash you in the jugular it is emotional but i don't feel slashed in the jugular okay great that is all i need to there's heart to it like there these characters feel real and there's a lot of heart to it but it's very funny underhanded funniness and it's a lot of understanding and i

think that you will love like i genuinely think that you will love this show i'm writing it down i think mom's been wanting to watch it anyway the last season i watched it all in one sitting wow did you watch white lotus i haven't yet but i'm going to me neither i like didn't give a shit about the first season i didn't care about the first season but everybody's like yeah do you know what sold me on it was this tiktok that i saw where everyone was like I think that let me see what the caption was I think it the caption literally might just have been this man wrote white lotus let's see oh remember that this is the man who makes white lotus and I this the first thing that already intrigued me was during awards season when

everyone's like Ned Schneebly made white lotus and I was like Ned Schneebly like that's an in for me he played dan schneebly in school of rock oh and i was like okay and that like it intrigued me but i was kind of just like it is what it is he went on survivor and there is this fucking compilation thing of him on survivor and he goes everybody in my industry wants to win an oscar and i'm here like i want to win survivor and he's like chugging wine on the beach and he goes I found I felt like uh Julia told me I had a target on my back and then I found out I had a target on my back when Julia told me and then it's like just everything is just like really funny and really campy and now that I have like a more of an understanding and concept of what the show is

I love when camp is done well I fucking hate when campy shit is done poorly and knowing that the creator is like oh someone you trust literally i'm like i am seeing i we're vibing already from this i was like i think i'm ready to watch it i think this will be good but i did hear that there was one gross scene in season one and i think that's why i like avoided it like the plague i have no clue i don't i know that it takes place at resorts that and every season will be at a different location for the resorts and that's all i know about the show i think there was something with poop in the first one gross i know um but i'm gonna watch it i think it'll be the next thing that i binge i also watch wednesday oh nice so good yeah and that gal is really good actress

she is i have looked at her imdb imdb pro like nine times and it's not fucking clicking why i know her face so deeply personally and intimately i think we might have mutual friends like i've she's 20 years old though no but like i think she might have she did something on awesomeness so i'm like we i gotcha i there's no shot in hell i've like seen this person in passing multiple i'm like no no i i've known her and her name for like way too but if you knew her like back then that's what saying like i have to have i have to have had like a child though no but i know her first and last name that's what i'm saying i'm like she's got this i recognize her like when she get cast in things i'm like oh i know her first and last name but like i haven't watched things that she's done

yeah she's fine but um but I was like this is you know that's our thing so wait that's like that's fun because you can also both actively enjoy it separately and then like together not like doing it for the pleasure of somebody else like you both like it that's fun but highly recommend that too i the i'm a family always creep me out this i mean it's like she's the first she's because she's not with the rest of the family she's at high school but she's the only like creepy one per se like everybody makes comments about how she's creepy and so she's the only she's really the only creepy part of it but even her being creepy is more i would say she's more emo than creepy oh okay yeah it's a little bit better yeah do you see that she got like 18

million tiktok i mean instagram followers and like the weekend it came out yeah i saw somebody made a comment about you know like um don't put like the the people that are like uh that are quote unquote the overnight success but they're not all actually overnight so she's been working in this industry forever but like when you're the it girl there's a lot of pressure on you and they were like they're saying like don't be an asshole essentially yeah I was it made me think of I was like I don't know how they would be able to do it and it wouldn't like be good but like part of me wishes that there was a cap on how many follow like that you could have get at a certain point like having it be paced because that like when you blow up like that to the masses for

people to see it doesn't match um your bank account either and so like you can't you're hustling and you're doing things that other people might not seem as like the same caliber and so like those numbers are so skewed to I don't think it I mean I think it's a lot of pressure for the person on the receiving end of it but even also like as an audience that like you tend to view this person as like so fucking famous so fucking rich so successful and all of that that they're not going to live up to that because they're still like they don't they don't equate to success and and wealth and if they do that's also way too much pressure on one person like that's a lot to like shift from that many people watching you i'd be terrified to post an instagram

Yeah. You got good TV watching. That's the only good part about being sick. Yeah. Because it was like I was, I couldn't sleep because I was coughing. But I was too hungover on medicine that I couldn't work or do anything else. I was like, I have to. I'm watching TV.

I feel like there was something else I watched. and oh the marvel stuff i'm up to thor but first which i talk about um in but am i wrong i talk about how i've been watching um the marvel cinematic and television universe um from in order and how it should be in the timeline so i'm up to thor the first floor and you can hear are i would be shocked if they are hot takes about captain marvel and the blue balls that gave us all that's the only accurate um depiction of when someone can use the term blue balls have you been watching anything um abbott elementary we started it from the beginning

for to watch with uh our out-of-town visitor who wanted to watch it from the very start and then um as that was happening moth got a text um from his mom who was like i want to watch apid elementary from the start when you're gonna watch colorado and we were like sick fine with it like i have thoughts and i would like to share them so if you have not watched the most recent episode fast forward ahead because there's going to be spoilers you ready i'm ready gregory is a fuck boy and i don't think that he deserves janine he has a fucking girlfriend and is constantly giving her giving janine eyes flirting with her almost kissed her and then his girlfriend calls and he goes running i literally said the exact

same thing but i did say he's a fuck boy at the start not the start at earlier in that episode because what the the street clothes they put him in and i was like that chain the chain i already knew melissa he's i saw the long sleeve white shirt and i saw the chain i go fucking hang fucking drop him janine janine he's told you everything about him from from from the pecs up you don't even need to you can look at those skinny jeans you can look at the little cut you look at his shoes but he's told you with that chain and that long sleeve yep he's for the streets he is he's in and also like it felt kind of like not to critique anything about the perfect show but i was like wait i like forgot that he had a girlfriend and then when it got brought up

I thought that they had broken up. Did he not say that they broke up? I promise you, I thought they had broke up. Melissa, me too. And then I thought I must. Because it was like, because things were weird. Is he still with, what's her name's daughter? Is that the girlfriend?

And that's like old school rap. That was kind of like baseline criteria. You have to have that tone, you know? And I, I mean, I like, I love everyone who like, you know, utilizes the, uh, like synth and stuff to like change their voice and do all of that stuff. Like that's very interesting stuff that they have coined themselves, but like.

There's something to that natural tone. It's sexy. Like it's that, like, it's kind of like that grumbly kind of that, that kind of thing it's like sometimes I think with like like older men who sing country I'm like if you could rap like you would be very good like it's that like deep thing that he has where it's like really under his breath and like low and sexy I've never been attracted to that man until I heard him until I saw him rap it went away after that while he was rapping no every time he smiles I go oh like he has that charming sweet grin but i've never it's never been sexual or feral but i listen to that i press play it's happening i press pause it's done i press play tap pause done it's like

constant back and forth that you'd have but then also you get the random celebrity appearance at the end oh my god who is that and and then ava i mean she's perfect character but she's like you thought i did wouldn't have a boyfriend no that was the best whoever wrote that line deserves a fucking raise yeah it was literally perfect because in my mind i never once thought about it but i go oh my god of course she would have a boyfriend like i was like i never thought of her as being single but i never thought of her like because she's always hitting on greg yeah but like and then she's also like uh he's been dating me for five years but i've been with him for two like ava i would expect nothing less oh that's so it was it was such a good episode

like i mean halloween episode is still the greatest piece of television ever made see i like this one better than the halloween this was my halloween was good close second and i like them for such different reasons like this one i think was like really really good writing in like character development and really great acting the fucking reference the relentless references in the halloween episode and how it just keeps circling back and you have like these marvel ones all throughout that like i just i love because it's like little easter egg easter egg easter egg and i love the episodes with the kids where they have like a shining moment in it and it's just perfect and i'm actually so sad that it's done until we the new season comes back but not new

season just no i mean the mid-season the yeah the mid-season we're at the mid-season finale and now i'm like we have to wait but i'm gonna watch it again we're back with uh i think it's 22 episodes right so but they're not gonna start until well they didn't do it it'll be back january 4th we're not gonna be oh we're not gonna be away for that long i guess they didn't do 22 episodes last season no the first season was only and you know it started a weird time i don't think they were banking on the it was 14 first season was it was less than 20 13 it was 13 i don't think they were banking on the show to be as good as it is because they dropped it at a random time and didn't they underestimated black twitter uh-huh like every week i literally have black

twitter trending abbott elementary trending underneath and then black twitter abbott elementary trending all as one or quinta like black twitter quinta like it's i mean i feel like people i mean it's a wonderful fantastic show and it's like so good just from like a consumer viewer point of view but like statistically like it's breaking records of the amount of people who are watching it on television on tv those numbers are breaking records of the last like five years or something but then that doesn't even account for their streaming numbers and then you add their streaming numbers in yeah i just would have loved to be a fly on the wall when like she like the network found figured saw that and then they were like oh oh and she was like

Applegate got diagnosed with MS too and so they had a very long break so there's some stuff they do, you know, Netflix recaps but there's a lot of stuff that I forgot so I'm going to re-watch it all together. Well we needed a new

feel fresh and you feel light and you're just selfies galore yeah selfies galore somebody who has current bangs but it's she's wearing a beanie i think i've seen them yet bitch i literally sent you a photo and you should know not that i want to guilt you for being sick because i'm actually honestly so happy that you made it virtual i was very stressed i and we i mean that we even canceled like i was so fucking stressed i had so much shit to do i blow dried my hair the night before and i took extra care i was like oh my bangs are gonna look so cute and she's finally gonna get that she keeps complaining that she hasn't seen my hair even though i sent she asked for a picture like the next day and i sent her one i know here i am and it and it looks nice
