we have officially made it melissa we got on the morning toast snark subreddit what for our post and specifically i want to give you your flowers because they love your line with saying we don't toast we cheers and they were like i love that um so shout out to whoever it was who posted this they said that like i'll read it it said um the transcript from the most recent episode of the but am i wrong pod i was listening in the shower and i had to go back to make sure i heard them correctly if you aren't familiar with the show host megan melissa they uh megan melissa hosted alongside an advice show called don't blame me on the same feed this just tickled me lol highly recommend it if you're looking for some new content to fill your day their shows have been

going on for a long time they have something uploaded almost daily at this point uh and then someone commented oh they're getting my follow for the fact that they are truly cultivating a safe space for people who want to get the fuck away from mega love this so hard and this for the person who originally posted responded saying they are very very very anti-mega it's a great space um and yeah so i just want to give like a shout out and i just i'm like we made it like when i saw because am i joined in that start separate of course i am like you love megan loves gossip and loves gossip about people on the internet like that i do live on the internet because you're a product of that too so like you have inside information that you don't necessarily

share but it gives you a different vantage point than other people i consume content in a very different way because i watch and so like i think i said this and that but like the first time i like heard people talk about them and it was like pandemic and i was like there's no fucking other pot like everything i was watching was like once a week and i was like i need goddamn something and i like put it on and immediately i was like something is afoot and i looked it up and because i could just tell that they were i could tell the the image they were curating in a way that i was like dang this is like you're really trying to suppress the dog whistles and you're also really like it was just odd um and like they had this bit at one point where they were like at some time

like i think it was like literally the first episode i watched it was like when the clock would hit a certain time one of them went like okay like what are you wishing for it was like a Gucci bag and I'm like you're wearing Van Cleef and Cartier like why are you trying to relate to your audience saying like all I wish for in life is a Gucci bag when I'm like I don't even know that you'd wear a Gucci bag like you are wearing so much more and I was like this is so odd like I can tell this um so that has been one that I mean I really like I joined the snark because I was like I gotta see what these dog whistles are because so many people were like they're wonderful i love them and i'm like you can't hear these well that's the whole point of the dog whistle

if y'all don't know what a dog whistle literally means it's people say things at a decibel that the most people don't understand and that's where the name dog whistle comes from because a dog whistle people can't hear yeah so it's like a secret code for people who are already in that space but then specifically i think when um it's done in this on these kinds of platforms it's also slowly turning people to a certain viewpoint and vantage point because they get really comfortable with these phrasing that they might not know is a dog whistle and then therefore they also start to align with that belief system and uh i i tried to i couldn't at a certain point i was like i can no longer do this part of it and like i'm like i will i tried to listen to some of the like uh

episodes at certain episodes depending on the titles and stuff and then it got to a point where i was like you know what i'm just the snark is where that's all i need to yeah with a vp not with a ad blocker by the way no one should ever hate consume content where you are giving them money views yes obviously help with that kind of stuff but like even when we're doing i'm doing like research for something we're talking about on the show if it's someone like very problematic like i'm not gonna give them like a like a cpm money amount yeah i've never watched nor listened nor if these people were in a line up i don't know who they are but i know that they're constantly trending i guess because they have episodes out every day but their podcast is ranked very high

um and i everything that i know about them comes from megan so um i've never thought they were good oh god no you've always told me because when you started talking about them to me it was all hateful stuff so uh i will say though shout out to that community because i saw them when they were like oh my god it's just so hard to quit this podcast from like an aspect of like it's a part of my routine and i remember going melissa's and i was like we got we got everything on the same feed we got to put we need to have it almost every single day yeah so i mean but am i wrong used to not it used to be its own feed and we wanted it to be on the same feed initially but the ad company we were with at the time wouldn't allow us to do it

um but no it wasn't that we were switching ad companies yeah but now knowing that people like wanted content that what like they want things like you can pick and choose what you listen to in the feed but at the same time like most people who listen to our shows they listen to all of them and even if you don't start that way you get into the habit of that but i was like oh this is true like it becomes a part of your routine and that and as someone who also you know i i've listened to some shitty podcasts because it's just the a day that they upload the other ones i don't listen to don't upload and i'm like the more days we upload the less shitty podcast you guys have to listen to because we're there for you so i just want to get a shout out thank you all so much

for uh your support and also by the way we don't just like hate maga and we don't just hate trump we hate us we get a lot of we hate rfk i mean he's part of that though that's true he's the i can't with the maha because it reminds me of the amanda show where she goes never seen it wow i watched how it was on like um all that all that but i never watched amanda's show you've got a sense yeah that's its own thing yeah but i mean it's it's those characters it's expanded yeah but you know like people watch things of people that are older than them and we're the same age so therefore it's not content for it was not content geared toward me that makes sense i what did i write down there oh i wanted to tell you um

i saw a headline unless i'm obsessed with it the louisville zoo will let you name a roach after your ex for valentine's day i've known this they've been doing this for years you're familiar with their practice yes they've been doing this for years have you ever done this or have you known i have i don't is there a particular ex that i hate so much in that way i don't think so because cockroaches live for a very long time i really i'm gonna love with you i i don't hate any person i've dated more than i hate cockroaches yeah like it's not comparable and so why would i Burton the cockroaches with that well and also then that's that's by proxy kind of giving the tuck everlasting curse to an ex or someone you hate because it's like I think you're horrible

and I think you're going to survive a nuclear bomb right and I'd actually prefer you you perished yeah in that circumstance but I thought it's ten dollars and it goes to help fund a habitat for their new turtle francis and i'm like that's so fun i love that for francis if they're doing this in an ethical way but like i'm not oh they did they did clarify it is not limited to your ex you can name a roach after anybody who has scorned you what if you want to do it after somebody that loves you i think you're because there are people that love you but you don't necessarily love them think about that yeah

yeah I was gonna say though that it does give the vibes of when Kiki was on chicken shop date and Amelia asked her like if she could be anything she was like I'd be a hawk cause like let's go her whoever I was like being a roach it's like is it a compliment? No

but is it like you are quite literally indestructible and everybody fears you some people might like that power trip like that sounds like a reality TV show contestant kiki did say i don't know if you saw this but she said she would prefer to be called lauren yes so we should start lauren respecting her which we use a lot of times we do call her lauren kiki we should start respecting her we do talk about her quite a bit on this podcast so um oh yeah you should know about us we hate maga we love lauren palmer love her so much so addicted to her she is

just i just thought i've watched an interview with um leon thomas like talking about this like old video like in the clip that had resurfaced of her being like he is a musical genius like he is so good he was like you know sometimes your friends like see those things in you before you can and i was like that's like such a like such a perfect way to describe that because i was like oh that's so kind and i was like oh not only is it it's not just nice like it's true like she was right and like now that he can recognize that like yeah i am musical genius but like i couldn't say that or recognize that myself at that age can i say something about leon thomas for a second incredibly talented yeah i don't really need permission um he was on mr student body president

which i produced and megan was was a star of um and the second season came around and we were like gonna make his i don't the people that created the show didn't realize what talent we had in leon no they didn't realize who he was and who he was going to be but by the time that second season rolled around they were like we got to make his character bigger and i was like told y'all that the first season um but uh he the second season he got booked on insecure and so he wasn't going to be able to continue in the way that we had wanted to continue with him um but he came he was like i'll come in and shoot some things like just to round my character out and he came in and did a little musical number for the show which they did not put it with them they it's just a

clip like you see him playing his guitar but we don't actually hear it the way that it was edited and that pissed me off um but um he came and did that like he didn't have to he just came to round out his character and left and i was like what a stand-up guy he was so nice the scene in the office was that season one or two which scene that i'm in the office i think that's season one because he and i just like hung out and talked that whole time and like he probably won't remember that at all but like if i if you asked me to pick out of a lineup specifically after season one pick out of a lineup he was the person who i like met on set but was one of the people that i was like that's what i'm gravitating towards because he we just like got along so he was just like so

nice and funny and vibe like it was just such a great experience in the sense that like i knew other people better but by the time we finished that day i was like i feel like i know you better i feel like i spent more time with you he was so good so what a nice it's great to see him flourish he's an incredible talent and i didn't watch um victorious so like i i had no x like i had no nothing going into that um except i was like this kid's great i felt like the girl from camp rock like wow he's really good um but i didn't know that part of him or that aspect of him so yeah he's great okay while we're on this discussion but not like we're talking about movies but not this has nothing to do with

being like negativity okay but it does have to do with an actress that sparks a lot of feelings within people there's so many i can think of i know but it's one wonder woman devoted no no no not that extreme oh okay more of a someone that we've devoted time for on this podcast not this specific show but uh but am i watching are we getting closer to raven no so do they elicit a good or a bad feeling they they give people pause they give people pause they give people pause i don't know not leah that's a bad feeling no jlo jennifer lopez oh she does give people pause right she

just gives feelings it's not necessarily my god um she has a new movie that is out or coming out um not the one with sir and k brown when they're in the little pods no no no no that one already came out yeah came and went yeah came and went didn't hear anything else about it i did say i was gonna watch it but i never did no we watched the interviews yeah there's this movie coming out called kiss of the spider woman okay i have a perfume ad no clue what it's about but there is one that came out in 1985 i don't know if it's the same thing um because i don't watch trailers and i'm not going to watch the trailer but it's a musical drama film i just saw the male co-star and you know that i love a musical she does which i i need to make a correction last week when we

were talking about our four top four she literally texted me after we were done being like oh my god i can't believe i forgot and i was wondering i was like i wonder if she's gonna fucking edit it in because like this is so it is very it's it's so important to you it's very important to me um my four i i added in at the last minute i think i added in okay so i said mean girls the game as in the game the movie um set it off whatever that fourth one i added in that i can't even think of anymore knock that out greece greece the movie the original greece that word that is my number four greece is the word it's the word that you heard no and you guys i didn't even know i knew she loved greece the musical live on fox i knew that because nobody respects vanessa hudgens more

than melissa after seeing like you you loved it but it was only that that version of it no that's it's no and that's it and so i have no i haven't seen her in anything else before or since anytime people are like cancel my as a hodge and you go except the greece musical live she is a star and i go except for also in there and i'm like except for obviously the princess witch one two and three and also by the way all variations of the of the hodge that she plays um but uh when we saw that movie i was like i looked over you i was like oh my god it's the movie it's like it's the stage production i was like it's grease as a whole it's not just you love the the live rendition like you love this fucking movie i wore a pink jacket when you went to go see it i was a buzz i bet

you've never seen me smile that much no i was and i was shocked i was like what because you weren't like hey we have to go see grease this is really important to me you're like oh like we're gonna whatever it was like we had plans and i was like oh we'll go and we get there and i was like i had no idea how geeked you were over this and i look over and i was like oh my god she's done the best ever life i haven't seen that movie a million times it's so funny and i also realized i've seen it i think exactly one time and i knew like only the songs i knew were from like the fucking middle school stage adaptation so i kept looking over at you being like the fuck did they just said and you're like yeah well this is from this movie oh and i was like okay the greece

encyclopedia is here oh i had a good ass time um it's good it's yeah you were like this is a good movie and i'm glad they said it in california because i get really fucking annoyed when they don't tell you that this is something in los angeles and i go you can't film in los angeles when so many things film in los angeles and they set them in los angeles you can't use the same school the same beach the same backdrop and go this is wichita and i go no it's fucking not right so i was like okay thank god they're saying it's california yes um but back to a musical drama that dropped on uh january 26th at sundance kiss of the spider woman people are saying that this might give we've got a whole year before but it might give jennifer lopez her first

oscar nomination they're saying she's been robbed a phenomenal film it is getting rave reviews and people are just like shocked at how good it is and how good she is in it it has a 7.8 on imdb which is high for imdb um may i and what you're seeing at imdb those are people that have only seen it at critics yeah yeah critics that have seen it which is high so it's not even like the j-lo fandom has not seen it yet and they're not going to rate it yet yeah and also the j-lo haters have i was gonna say i don't i don't know how much of a of a dent the j-lo fandom is gonna skyrocket it versus the j-lo haters who want to see her fail fail when in reality let her make her expensive music videos like she's giving my super sweet 16 and like

that's how we should all spend if we had that kind of money i would like to read the premise of this everybody i know nothing about it nothing at all valentin a political prisoner shares a cell with melina a convicted for public indecency an unlikely bond forms as melina recounts a hollywood musical plant starring ingrid luna i i have no idea what any of that means but i'm in and it's diego luna oh thank god because why haven't we been utilizing him in movie musicals he's he's he's so beautiful so beautiful oh he was in narcos this is why i haven't seen him in why aren't you doing dirty dancing havana nights over and over and over again because that's how i know you and a lot of critically acclaimed things but like just not things that

not oiled up and dancing we're sitting down to just you know watch he's not been in a lot of popcorn no oh he's been what i would say as i'm scrolling through a lot of things that matz has probably watched and i think that's i'm glad for him but come back to your come back to roots like the way that me and my friend ivy used to just i i to this day have never seen the first dirty dancing i don't think ivy has seen the first dirty dancing either maybe that's changed but up until when we were middle school high school we this move it would be on fucking repeat we would be sitting as close to the tv as possible like fucking silent mesmerized by this man like and we used to have to we'd have to like not include him when we were talking about like

you know like okay it's like between these guys like who would you date or whatever and we like couldn't include diego luna because like it it was not fair competition to anybody else and it was like okay the guy from tech everlasting the guy from like whatever bad like begum all of those different things she's the man and then it was like no no if diego luna's in there diego luna is winning every time because there's a sex appeal that only he has he's like little too so he's won you over that's well melissa i was also little in age and well i don't know at that point i was also probably still taller than him yes i was a tall kid but i wasn't this tall maybe um but by the way do you know her project she has in pre-production

because jlo maybe we we take that i fear that this is not gonna maybe not go what the way that she thinks it is the bob the builder movie oh starring pick someone who the only thing i know about him is that we don't like him and he was in a movie i loved and i said i i think and i didn't recognize him and i was like oh you're like we don't like him and i said oh okay you're right that's that guy and i didn't realize he did someone very dirty publicly and then he decided to make a little song oh yeah yeah he is someone who i i i don't understand i don't think you're alone because i i see a lot of that sentiment

when i see him attached to things which is why i'm saying j-lo if you want this oscar i don't know if this is she does produce is she in the film or she's producing it she produced she will a lot of um she will do she produces a lot of things for a lot of people of color especially um latinos like so she will put her name behind things yeah get it to and get it and produce it so that it gets made so i respect that about her she yeah she she does she's similar to um uh avalon goria avalon goria has a whole production she's like pumping shit out and good shit yeah it very like very good shit um but you know anytime we talk about a musical i do have to do my next due diligence to see if can't your take what can your take is i mean

Spider Woman movie Kiss of the Spider Woman it does look like it is a adaption of a 1985 brazilian film and hey that's that's uh usually tends to be a little bit better or a little bit better of a guarantee oh yeah this man's working on a lot guys get excited kenny ortega has many projects in production we have two with development unknown we have one two three four five six seven with script one two with treatment one optioned and we've got three currently in

production booked and busy thank god because i will say there was like a little bit of time where i'm like so we're not like we why why why aren't people hiring you and i assume now that it was not that it was that he was like i'm taking a break oh this sounds great oh this is a documentary how long has this been going on there's no way well maybe it's different documentary documentaries they film this stuff for like 15 years well that's why i'm wondering if it's that or if the people who are top billed and listed are like mentoring other people because it's a group of young people as they prepare for their future as artists through performing arts acting singing dancing classes and it's got i mean stephen schwartz is on it and like oh kenny

take is in it never mind okay oh i don't know who this is this sounds like it's gonna be great a materialistic lean young girl leans into the true nature of giving through adventures at the north pole with her eccentric aunt called auntie claus i'm sad i'm sad i'm fucking sad and i'm like even like the little like uh uh temporary poster looks like a canva little like it is just a very diy moment um oh my god this sounds like it's gonna be great too a new york musical set based on a true story set during the 2008 financial crisis. kenny what are you doing in this drama oh it's rumored you're rumored to play a role what i need to know about this rumor because by the way he is one of four people with photos on here barbara traveled to nigeria to bury her husband but his burial turned into cultural rights she never saw coming and he is rumored to play obazi how do you get rumored to play a role who no idea oh a rumored thriller directed by kenny ortega i'm obsessed with like these rumors about kenny ortega i've never seen the rumors are either one fantastic they're making it and they still need money and so they'll just make a rumor that somebody's attached to it that they're not attached or it's a fan cast or they're just in talks and it hasn't been finalized so they

want to make an official announcement yet but i just love that kenny or take is at the level where people are like we gotta we gotta they're putting him in any one of those three boxes we gotta put his name out there to drum up some excitement about this i love it this is the kenny ortega street team and then something about tween genius moves to plainville about mysterious aliens all of that and i'm like okay lovely i feel like this is going to be a good year for kenny ortega i feel like and maybe jlo year for kenny ortega because everything the older we get and the farther we get away from like older kenny ortega productions we go it it still hits the same and sometimes it hits even harder because you're like you're old you recognize the

talent that is needed for that stuff and i'm like wow what an impressive impressive guy um and we also love kenny ortega on this podcast i mean more so you but i yeah i do we we respect kenny ortega i respect him very much so he's create our um what do you do focus focus high school musical choreography and director i feel like that's pretty much the only thing i've oh i guess cheetah girls because we i was forced to watch it i'm sorry but think about strut that's a kenny ortega production i know and you're way more excited about that than i am but someone is currently ranking all of these like songs of like the the intro the beginning song middle song and the finale song of all three cheetah girls movies and the second one is like winning by a landslide

but someone did comment being like you guys i hear you unfortunately if you do watch the second one back the songs are there the story is not in the way you think and who said that i thought of you on this very podcast yep the story first the first one pretty good it they don't have as much of money but the story was there the second one they're like i went to rent a wrapped skirt you don't need rewrites let's just go to spain yep let's let's trap galleria in a fucking tower and let's have the rest of them in a wrap skirt with some random man in a black tee yeah um gallery was raving yes well i did learn that she had recently had a breast reduction surgeries while they were doing that so i wonder if she was locked down so much because she couldn't

move as in lockdown arms by her sides i have to say that's a fantastic number she'd performed in the strat yes titties were freshly done said that they were it was rough oh well you know the only saving grace is that they gave that girl sometimes they gave her some really ugly outfits like from the top like they they used they would make like very matronly like blazer kind of stuff or whatever on i think her outfits in that so raven were better there are still some where you're like oh why did they why'd they make you wear that um but i i could see like her being like not even having to tell them and then them being like you're gonna wear this tank top within this t-shirt over and then a shawl and then a pashmina and then a scarf somebody posted

on one of these social media sites that i frequent that the girlies aren't doing what they used to with uh fashion like the olsen twins used to do and saying like this generation doesn't have like where's their olsen twins and i'd say well there's been a couple generations since then so who is this generation you're referring to gen z i guess and then somebody was like well they have raven i was like raven's literally older than the olsen twins what are you talking about like by a few months current raven on like raven's home no she's not a gen z fashion icon she is a millennial they are the same age we are the same age wait no no that's fundamentally crazy to me because like with love i don't even know if like raven right now would say like

i'm i'm a red carpet girl like i love i love an outfit she loves it she loves a matching top and bottom she loves a coordinating set she loves a track a gucci track suit and like i love that for her so did you just see what like love that love that for you like wonderful that's great so like i don't know that like raven at this point in time would be like yeah by the way on raven's home you guys should see me i am serving like for gen z specifically you mean that she's isn't she playing the principal and she's dressing like a 12 year old like what do you mean principal oh just she's the mom she's just being the premise that i think i'm thinking in my in my mind it was like raven's home is like cory in the house except instead of the white house

of friends and yeah but there's only so many times you can do that with strangers over and over and because like you don't really crave that experience all the time like because you go to the places that are seedy and all of that and so i'm like at it by the time that i was uh i was also was not really drinking much but like by the time i got to be 21 the only like the only thing i could like really actively do was like work so i've been to also a lot of like clubs and places like like my friends who like worked in you know anything where they are doing hosting events and it's like oh we're doing it warwick we're gonna do all this and i'm like oh fun and that stuff but uh my clubbing days were my shorts in college and then being underage but then
