Starting point is 00:01:38 gonna come for that oh the whiz who would come for what though john m2 i don't know don't you do you think kenny ortega like do you think someone who's making musicals is gonna make the whiz next if they're black not a white or non-white person neither one of those people are white but non-white people no that was my phrasing of coming for it and like that was parentheses negative connotation i want it done well so badly i love the whiz yeah it's great except for what diane ross did don't no you're wrong i'm wrong yeah do you know the whole story do you mean about her age not just that how she stole the part from stephanie mills was stephanie mills of the correct age she's not only the correct age but had played the
Starting point is 00:02:30 character all on broadway the whole time that keeps that happens a lot i really should have like fucked a director at some point like i think i'm like not director producing i think was barry gordy who was one of her damn i i i should have tried that so not just the right age but it was her part like originated on broadway playing it the whole time yeah that's tough that is tough well i take it back then i still love it though i still everybody it's a beloved movie beloved movie it's so good that's just the one thing but the music like everything about it i'm like i know that like wicked is like the thing that everybody was like we got this wonderful and i was like okay do do you bitches know about the whiz do you know
Starting point is 00:03:24 about the whiz the dancing oh my god just the the pure performance of it all that was my first play um i ever did in kindergarten and was it kindergarten or third grade third grade and uh i remember being like what is this because like i don't even know if i had seen the wizard of pause at that point i think the only in my mind i would have called it an old movie the only old movie i would have seen was my grandmother forcing me to watch gone with the wind and i was like and i hated it um so when i found out there was a movie of it i like wanted to watch it and so parents just popped me in front of the tv by myself third grade here i am watching the whiz and i was like oh i love it i loved it so fucking good yeah yeah yeah so there we go a little
Starting point is 00:04:10 history. There you go, everyone. Watch it. Enjoy it. Welcome to Fisting Friday. I already said that. I said we're easing you into your Friday. Your weekend. Oh, and then I said you're on down the road. Amazing. I love
Starting point is 00:04:27 coming back to the actual point. Yay. Welcome. What did you get up to this week? I did talk to you this weekend. I was tracking your location and I was like, are you home? And I knew you were home but like you didn't you didn't seem home home you know i mean like you were you were i was in my driveway and i saw that from your location but i didn't see where you were but i was like
Starting point is 00:04:50 is she she's like home adjacent and then i waited till the car stopped moving and then i text you being like can i facetime you i could save this until we're we're on video chat for the podcast um but i i need to see your reaction now and unfortunately everybody can't tell you all about it but good god do i want to someone was playing make-believe in a world war ii setting in a world it just so everyone knows all i want in life is like if i could do a you know how like when people do like recipes or like or even like like articles of being like updated with like the year or whatever the way i wish i could do that with my book just to be like just to give you all a little bit of an update like we do the next uh a reprint yeah the reprint of it then adding things it's
Starting point is 00:05:48 it makes everything that had my book seem like child's play like addition two it is fucking crazy so just i've been like maniacally laughing for like a week actually probably two weeks at this point so besides that what'd you get up to this weekend i well on thursday i went to the patreon dinner you did that last time i was about to say you made fun of me last week and here we are that's what you get because you're drinking out of a regular glass today yeah i don't know how to do it anymore i've lost that cognitive motor skill i think i've almost graduated back to being able to drink out of a straw but um we're not there yet it was the blisters the way it was the pain it was bloody it was just not working yeah so i went to the patreon dinner
Starting point is 00:06:36 it was very nice very nice they had word games that we were playing as a table word games yeah like riddles like what's brown and white and red all over stuff like that but they had to do with pop culture things i don't know that i hate riddles personally just tell me i have such a fucking hard time i don't know but the people at my table were were one person was very good at them and so she was answering them right away perfect i also sat next to the guy well across from the guy that does like eat like a president or a politician in a day and he was pretty cool i don't know if you do watch have you seen those i don't know that i've seen it let me look him up eat like a president yeah or a politician politician okay man with earrings hair
Starting point is 00:07:30 yeah he was so nice and his wife was so nice she doesn't work in she's like a fundraiser person she's she's a good person yeah we really hit it off so and then i was telling him about how my my grandmother was hillary clinton's um uh caterer for her luncheons when she was governor and so i was like i actually left that on a comment on your video you did eat like hillary in a day and he was like okay we gotta we gotta uh connect and and uh swap info and stuff so it's a great concept and also like it is so funny like i'm looking through his stuff now and like the fact that this is like one of the things that's recorded for like pretty much every like president like that do you know what i mean like it seems like it's not like it's not like a
Starting point is 00:08:17 whatever that youtube video where it's like eat like what kate hudson eats in a day or whatever like it's not like oh that only started with social media like this has been something that has been covered way before that his wife was like yeah when he told me a concept i was like okay yeah because i was like i think i would have assumed you would have run out like a while ago he's expanded to different politicians too not just president yeah like eisenhower's brown betty like what wow and some people just eat just like stuff just stuff it's like what is this the way that some people eat i'm just like okay i'm not even like concerned really about like your macros i'm more concerned with your palate like yes what do you mean you can have these
Starting point is 00:09:05 things on the same plate let alone the same bite and like there are certain things like i'm gonna have to brush my teeth between those like right why like why are you eating like tinned fish like a sardine or like a fermented something and then you've got mashed potatoes and then an apple with peanut butter and then like uh sour cream and onion chips it's not my vibe yeah but and you wash it all down with the black coffee exactly that's a lot of his that's a lot of the videos is that he is washing down stuff with coffee like that's like that changes the flavor of everything yes like that's so odd oh wow yeah that's fun somebody else i was sitting with and literally lives a block away from me we're neighbors yeah um it
Starting point is 00:09:54 was nice setting it was just just like everybody sit down and talk it wasn't like here patreon this is what these are some new things we're rolling out it's just like y'all they're part of our creator program so come meet each other and have a great meal that's so fun yeah just so people know megan wasn't invited she just didn't come remember how i said i was like crashing out like to reach straight i was in the thick of that and as i said to melissa which she immediately understood without even me having to um further explain i was not in the mindset of meeting new people without like everyone i talked to i think i i probably i called you kyle lily mods like i later like when all this shit was happening i was like i immediately have to text
Starting point is 00:10:38 everybody i know to like tell them about this shit that's going on and i was like can i get not in the place to meet like a new person who like doesn't understand why there's like this crazed look behind my eye i'm just not my best i'm not my best version i love this version of myself but this version of myself is like it's it's for people that already love you exactly like they're like who is this person why does she have an air of like wanting to commit like a felony and it's like you know that's not always like how i want to introduce myself to new people right right so um but yeah then friday we live stream and i i'm looking at i'm i have to move in 30 days yeah i was gonna i was debating bringing it up but i didn't wanna i'm starting
Starting point is 00:11:25 to get stressed now well here's this we went through the phase of being really stressed immediately and then feeling chill and now we're stressed again which means the chill is coming yeah but it's not going to be here until i'm sorry unfortunately yeah until you well actually unfortunately until you're there no but there doesn't matter just assigning the lease right now is what it is oh okay perfect because once that's done i have nothing to worry about because everything just gets packed up and i leave yeah i get i keep forgetting that part of it and i've never done that so like i to me that's stressful but you you're a pro at it yeah so every because i think the problem was everybody's like we need somebody to move in now we need somebody to move
Starting point is 00:12:09 in now and i'm like i i'm not moving right now yeah so um now we're now we're at the time so now the people that were like we need somebody moving now are now the people where i actually can move in you know but it's just like scheduling all these appointments and stuff and I know that you're not legally supposed to do this but people are like oh you're a woman living by yourself that wants to live in a house there I can see the look in their eyes and it's pissing me off yeah and luckily like when I moved into this place it was one somebody that's also a creative so like she understood that my how my bank situation looks because we don't have regular payroll and stuff and then also like it was just her not going through like a company per se and so it was just
Starting point is 00:13:03 like hey i understand this everything looks good here we go and i'm just like okay thank you yeah i feel like there's only one of two ways that it goes in la that it's either like oh a single a single woman with all this space and and and what's your job like uh-huh or it is a single woman no loud no loud children i want to sign this for you so like it's both sides of like you're not literally legally allowed to do either but like thank god the second part exists because the first part has just non-stop existed but god that's it's like every person they quickly cover it up in their eyes but like it's a oh just you yep and the thing is is that you gotta pick one that is excited about it being just you but then you have to deal with what i had to deal with
Starting point is 00:13:55 which is when you start dating someone then they get up then they're like upset and i'm like i'm so sorry my 60 year old landlord who is married i'm so sorry you're personally upset that now i have a boyfriend okay okay weirdo oh good god but hey you know if you if you need to expand your range distance wise let me know or maybe even if the other way ask mods he can stop by during lunch lunch break if you gotta if you gotta go that farther that way too i mean i'm it's my search has all of it it's just like either not good places or they're really like not they're lying about what the place looks like when i get there which is pissing me off they are heavily photoshopping these pictures and the thing or they're very much overpriced for what they are
Starting point is 00:14:47 yeah i'm getting really confused because i've been looking for you too i'm getting really confused about how a 600 square foot place is able to have three bedrooms and is also four thousand dollars huh yeah what i'm just so confused by it like there's just so many 800 square feet 700 square feet places that i'm like makes no sense what were these before like what was this are we splitting up homes and making them duplexes but like even that is that's the only way i can think of it because i would say like if i was going to say what the standard like la architecture specifically like old school style the homes here the oldest ones are usually between 1300 to like 1500 square feet like max like we don't have big homes here and so i'm like so did you just like
Starting point is 00:15:40 split it and we do but it's they're just like they're newer yeah but like what yeah huh like did you just split it in two because that's the only way i can think of like there's not a lot of like homes that are old homes that are built that are just 700 square feet like that's not a thing it's like 1300 is pretty much like standard standard uh-huh wow and again how do you have three bedrooms right it doesn't make sense and then a lot of the times they're because they are they're making the kitchen so it's just like one row of something and then there's no living room i don't understand like the living rooms have to you have to put like two chairs in there and that's it and no kit no dining area and then making the rest of them bedrooms yeah it's
Starting point is 00:16:21 so fucking odd so fucking odd i need to stop looking at making me annoyed but i you need to look so yeah there's that's kind of what it is oh no not north hollywood so i might be at a point where i have to like get somebody to co-sign because yeah they're like well didn't the new thing come in well i guess the security deposit they had they had to change that yeah this you can't do first last and then also pay rent it's just a they can only do deposit and then first rent now the way that that would have saved me so much money but damn yeah i mean there's a lot of people who are doing work on um cute houses in my neighborhood so i think in a couple years if you want to move i mean that one house that was pretty close to you was perfect
Starting point is 00:17:12 but there's i'm not in my street i'm not ready to move like buy it yeah but that's fair now i'm i am this is my focus now is that next time i move it will be into a house that i bought that was how i felt with our last place that i was like i because i had moved it's an la typical thing moving the first five years you're here you move every year and it is and the thing i didn't that's the thing is like i i've been pretty settled in like yeah when i very first moved here i sublet it but that was just until i you know figured out where i wanted to be and stuff but that was even for six months and it was because like it was a brother and sister that were living together and the sister had moved back home for a little bit and so i stayed just
Starting point is 00:18:00 when she was ready to leave and then i had found that the place that was in culver city i stayed there until i moved until she got pregnant and then i moved to that one place where i when i did move i just moved downstairs yeah and then here like i've been settled in places so it's time for your your turbulence yeah it's because it's brutal i had to move i think i had three apartments for cockroaches in the first like couple months of living here just bounced around until finally i was like oh turns out 27 floors every single one of them is infested with cockroaches which is actually impressive when you think about it that they like to be like in basements and on ground level they made it up like imagine that imagine if they were like
Starting point is 00:18:45 the tale of despero or like any of those little animated movies about animals they made it up 27 flights like that's they're like seeing the high life good for them not good for the people who live there they're like this is our home you know it really was they were like okay we were here first i'm like you know what you were you probably were here and i don't know the 1920s and i'm like yeah you've lit you've survived it all at dejardin insurance we know that when you own a nail salon everything needs to be perfect from tip to toe that's why our agents go the extra mile to understand your business and provide tailored solutions for all its unique needs. Starting point is 00:20:22 stop and so i just pop the rest of them off but i'll put them back on so fun and they're helping me not pick as much um yesterday i needed to like you know get a little bit of sunshine and so i went to go put our like watering system on we have it like on a timer that goes automatically but it's been like weird weather and the weather's been hot and then cooler yeah so i'm like okay I think I need to do a double water and so I went to go do that and before I did that I was like oh wait let me just check on this one plant that has like immediately died which it's been like living for a while and then it just like died but it hadn't been growing and so I my meds had run out so of course this became a bigger ordeal than I had had meant it to be because I got the hyper
Starting point is 00:21:11 focus gene and I was like oh let me get some of this clay out that's like still in this area because i think that's probably why the water's not able to penetrate it and that's why it died and i knew that there was like some some like brick or like something like heavy like lower down there because when we were first planting things there we like found that and it was like okay this is like way too big to deal with and i was like okay well this yeah and i was like well this shit died and like this is like the section of a garden that's like having the hardest time like getting good water and i was like you know what i'm just gonna like fucking see what it is. And the monster's not home to stop me or to tell me, just leave it. So I start going
Starting point is 00:21:50 and I'm like, wow, it is really dry here. It's really dry. And then quickly I hear like the hard thing I'm hitting. And I'm able to like get a piece and I was like, oh, okay, this is just like a big cement block. And so like I pull out a piece that's like this big and I was like, damn, okay, let me see. And I am trying to like lift the other, but it's like really not moving. So I get my big shovel and I'm like doing the thing when you like your foot on it and like you're trying to use like angle to lift it up and it's literally like just not fucking moving so then I have to remove all of like this stuff on top of it and I like dig more of it out and when I tell you that this is the size of I don't know my belly button to my head like it's huge like not even in frame
Starting point is 00:22:36 so big i was able to finally pull it out but here i have a video of me like initially trying to literally i was like is this a plate tectonic like am i about to like cause an earthquake and that take in mind this rock up here is like a sitting rock like it's not small and i finally got it out and there was just like it's like probably like four inches thick and then there was like four inches of just pure clay on top of it because like when you water it the soil disperses but the clay you can't get through the clay nor can you get through the cement and so it just was like this whole layer on top and then underneath beautiful soil and i was like oh my god i'm gonna solve this and i was so excited but when mods came home last night it was dark
Starting point is 00:23:23 and he was like what do you have this look on your like your mischievous look on your face and i was like it did something but you won't even be able to see it until it's light out and so he called me on the way to work today it's like i saw it and i was like wasn't that impressive and he was like how the hell did you like lift that up and i did pop off one of my nails doing that but i just put him back on after but i was impressed with myself and i'm i'm determined to make our garden like our garden is like beautiful but i'm determined to make it like lush and i'm trying so goddamn hard but we also got some new solar lights and some halloween decorations but like we have like now some lights on in like the entryway path and we're gonna do a lot of that
Starting point is 00:24:04 this weekend too to like make it so it's i don't know there's like fun lighting at night because right now it's just we want to get as many trick-or-treaters as possible and sometimes i think our house looks a little dark and scary and parents like okay don't go up there do you have something at your entrance like letting people know what do you mean what entrance where the gate is so we are replacing um and i'm i want to try and clean them to figure out how to fix it but i've been working on trying to fix it we have two like light posts like post lights on those posts and they just are not working and so they're solar so i'm working on fixing those otherwise we will replace that and what we're going to do now is at the how do i phrase it so like before you start
Starting point is 00:24:46 walking up towards the gate because like the gate is not like immediately you don't necessarily see it yeah the way that your house is situated it's not like the streets don't run parallel to each other yeah and so there's just a quintessential la kind of landscape you don't know where the entrance to the house is exactly and so but we're gonna do um a scarecrow like at the base so you can like kind of see that and then we might do some like spider webs like leading kind of up to like show you where to do that because as soon as you go to our neighbor's house and theirs is like much more like cut and dry you see where that is you can see ours but i want to make sure that there's just like enough light because parents usually will like just send their kids and they'll
Starting point is 00:25:31 stand like on the street and their kids will go up and i just want to make sure there's enough light so parents feel like comfortable doing that um and so far we're adding some some stuff that like looks really nice and our neighbor saw us doing it yesterday oh and i'm gonna take pictures of her and her baby for halloween in their costumes um so but it's looking pretty good so far and i really want to get these giant jack-o'-lanterns that like light up um that are big like pumpkins from the hardware store and our neighbor has one so i'm gonna go like drive by their house at night and like see what it looks like but i i feel like i'm late decorating yeah everything should be up today yeah and like a lot of it is but like also our inside fall
Starting point is 00:26:18 decorations are not up whatsoever but it was really fucking hot randomly and i knew this was going to happen it was not hot at all and then i was like that means we're kind of a hot motherfucking october and guess what we are and it's just hard to put those decorations up when you're sweating profusely so across canada in a volvo destination vancouver turn left to leave travel west through approaching continue toward you've arrived adventure and comfort with volvo whether you prefer gas plug-in hybrid or fully electric there's a volvo for everyone learn more at volvocars.ca when you're a mid-sized business you need every competitive advantage you can get like an ai solution that works for you
Starting point is 00:27:15 not against you sap grow is built with ai embedded at its core working across every system and it's ready to go from day one so you can hit the ground running bring it with sap grow ai cloud erp for any size business did you watch anything this weekend I watched two episodes of poker face we're making our way to paradise yeah cause I
Starting point is 00:27:44 I was just giving myself to my HBO I had cancelled it so I didn't make it all the way through everything I wanted to see but that's fine I'll come back cause I'm like I'm not really watching days of our lives right now cause it's boring so i just need to finish poker face and i can cancel my pecan subscription
Starting point is 00:28:03 well if you have well you won't maybe you wouldn't enjoy this but if anybody isn't enjoys the style of shows that i like mods and i are currently watching department q and it's what is that it's very good um it's with the man from leap it's netflix it's with the man from leap year and chasing liberty and mods was like this man is in like you know serious acting roles and i was like and i was like what else is he and he was like months like leap year and i was like oh so he's also in chasing liberty um and he plays a british like a detective who lives in scotland and they it's like a cold case kind of department that he gets assigned to after he's in this like pretty bad like workplace like shooting kind of a thing
Starting point is 00:28:56 that he's like a victim of and so they're trying to figure out it's like dual trying to figure out like why this person shot him like what happened with this whole situation and why that person like it ended up killing one other officer and paralyzing another and so he's like dealing with like the ptsd of that but then also like why did that happen simultaneously they can't really they don't want to fire him because he didn't do anything like wrong but like he can't work on that case so they have to give him something else and so it's like oh we're starting a new department with cold cases and so then it's trying to figure out and solve this other cold case which is about a i forget what the term they use for lawyer there but like is a lawyer in the uk and she
Starting point is 00:29:39 had like gone missing and has been missing for four years and they're like oh well she's definitely dead but you don't even realize that like that's the story that you're following because you're like following her and like her life and then you don't realize until like a couple a little while in that it's like they're talking about her because we're watching this in the past not realizing that she's now been missing and the reveal of that is just like so good and she's a fun she's like really phenomenal like she's really good she reminds me a bit of um the actress from orphan black um yes she's just like i don't know and like the acting in the show is just like in general like phenomenal like it's just like really good and i have to say though i was a little
Starting point is 00:30:23 scared because we saw we saw full-blown titty ass and and i don't know if we saw dick because i was just like so shocked but we might we at least saw dick silhouette outline on netflix and then i realize this wasn't like american made it's not like an american show but i was like what the fuck and matzah's like we you see nudity on netflix i was like you do not see nudity from like american productions on netflix like that like you just don't that's not that's like not their thing and so i was just i was so shocked i was like i'm not gonna ask you to rewind so i can like see that again but like that certainly was not implied nudity like that's a titty that's a full-blown titties on america's stuff on netflix two people standing naked from the front full
Starting point is 00:31:09 body shot okay so full nudity full frontal nudity okay two characters definitely seen tits on netflix oh yes because yeah but you're not seeing the lower half you're like there's they they give and take it they do little bits of that and so i was just i was shocked i was clutching my pearl i was like oh my god you got naked mostly netflix that you get naked and then again scotland so but it's good and i god i love those fucking accents i love i love the accents oh and let me see it's an old show but i want to make sure what it's not no it's on hulu so not gonna talk about that one oh yeah you didn't tell me that jean carlo was in poker face which episode the second one no i did tell you that i did okay i did because you had told me that
Starting point is 00:32:01 cynthia revo was in the new season and i was like john carlo's in the season and then i got to cynthia revo's episode and i said she should be in that episode oh okay but cynthia should win an emmy for that episode yeah john carlo by the way find me a show that find me something that i love that that man is not in he's in everything give me something he's not spoiler alert but the show's been out for a minute he's not dying it i'm sick of seeing him die on tv that's actually been quite hard for me because i was like my god my boy's getting cast like he's non-stop working like i would say this is like the busiest like two or three years that he's had like in different projects not just like the same project like he is and stuff everywhere and
Starting point is 00:32:43 unfortunately he is meeting his demise every goddamn time pissing me off to be honest i know you know what you should i i bet your dad if you if he had got your dad doesn't do Netflix does he no he doesn't know how to get on Netflix well I know that he got into what did he get into the Charlie Puth show yeah but uh he did a show that like
Starting point is 00:33:05 objectively like was like weird and a little silly but like I loved it and it was like kaleidoscope where it was like a heist kind of thing so like John Carlyle like escapes from jail and like commits this like heist kind of a thing and
Starting point is 00:33:21 I was like okay like if he's he's doing things that are like you know much more highbrow than like this this show but i was like at least that like i got to see him like you know it was i'm pretty sure he survives by the end of it and so i'm like maybe we get a second season of that but i don't think so how often can you go to jail and escape the only season of and this is controversial the only season of breaking bad that i liked was his season that's the only one i actually like was looking forward to all the other ones i was like whatever but then he dies he should have had his spinoff instead of the other guy i don't i mean the other guy was fine i heard the shows i'm sorry fucking hell he did die he's
Starting point is 00:34:06 always dying he needs to put that closet queen latifah has in her contract where she can't die anymore after the one movie yeah after the one movie they should reunite in the movie yes they should reunite please um after a movie i won't say because i want you to watch the movie but oh okay cool spoiler i know exactly what you're talking no there's several movies of hers that i want you to watch okay but she was like i can't do this anymore there's another movie that like i want to watch that i've like literally never heard of and it came out in that not in like the sex tape timeline which was like the post sony hacking where like a bunch of movies came out just like really quietly um i think this one came out in like the early pandemic but it'd already
Starting point is 00:34:56 been shot and filmed it was just the release was not what it was supposed to be and it was right next to department q on netflix and i was like oh what is this this looks great and that's what we're gonna watch this weekend but i gotta go see the new paul thomas anderson movie yeah this weekend too but it's called i'm so stressed out so i think i'll have to wait but that's what monster's like let's go tonight i was like okay i want to go but like every time you do keep suggesting a day i go i have no time so you know we'll see um but it's called the 355 i've never heard of this fucking movie when a top secret weapon falls into mercenary hands a wild card cia agent joins forces with three international agents on a mission to retrieve it all while
Starting point is 00:35:40 staying ahead of a mystery mystery something dot dot dot yeah i have not heard of this but it has a great cast yes the cast jessica justine penelope cruz diane kruger lupita nyong'o sebastian stan edgar ramirez like i was like what the fuck is this and it's like a crime fighting movie anytime i see i see multiple women posed on a cover i'm ready where i don't care what it's about i'm in i see their arms crossed i go oh we're not fucking around i see some like you know a blending of like a reds and blues in the back and i go okay we're fighting crime okay i see i see like a thigh high very unsensible unsensible boot but then i see she's strapped i go oh i'm fucking there like i am go to met in this movie i don't like it it looks like it like i'm like
Starting point is 00:36:36 give me every give me i think every movie should somehow give you the vibe of like what is it oceans eight is that the one i like i like all of them yes i'm gonna like all of them but i love that one like i love movies like that so i can't wait to watch it 2022 yeah it was a it was a victim it does right they look exactly like they're at the met all right well join us on monday for what am I wrong Tuesday for see you next Tuesday Wednesday you've got a little break Thursday we've got don't blame me and then on Friday
