i'm always out there out here trying to do that it gave whimsy it gave like it could have like a fantastical element yeah it's very much embedded in my head now you can also watch this on on spotify spotify well should we talk about oh i guess we should tell you what this podcast is we just talk and hang out yeah it's one of four podcasts that we do a week and this is our friday episode and on fridays you have fun yeah we're and instead of calling this fun friday we decided to call it fisting friday because there is some things wrong with us and by the way if you're listening you like whatever's wrong with us so uh funny enough we hung out this weekend which reminded me why it's hard to hang out with you on

the weekend because you won't let me talk about things that i want to talk about because we have to save for the podcast we do there's so much that happened shall we i mean i feel like everybody got mad at me on friday during the live stream because i ended it well keep them on their toes we were pushing three hours yeah melissa's a little strict and that's fine we need by the way we need that i need that live streams are supposed to be one hour yeah and we did three yeah so and then saturday what'd you do on saturday saturday i went thrifting i got new jeans i got a pair of shorts we went just like regular kind of like shopping me and during in general i looked i looked gorgeous like great i love that i looked so beautiful i looked like a uh like a hot mom on vacation in

italy and uh that was like very fun and then i saw superman there was an obstacle in the way of seeing superman and that was initially the man i love bought tickets to see superman and uh we get there and we're handed something upon entrance what was we're handed two pairs of 3d glasses and motz goes wait i didn't know this was in 3d i go pull up your fandango and i see superman in 3d and i'm like well we could see it and he was like i think you're gonna barf like i'm not and i was like i'll be fine like but honestly you might not have it wasn't that no and like i could tell when we were watching it like the parts that they would have done it in the only time that like it gets that so like they used to shoot movies with

like planned for it to be in 3d like spike in 3d so like those shots are set by the director you're doing them on set for that when you do it in post they can just get a little wonky and a little more like nauseating but i used to like love a 3d movie i didn't really think of like the pots aspect of it mach was thinking more about like the he's like i think if they do the flying it'll make you really nauseous but then he was like also like you already jump out of your skin with like anything sudden i think if it's 3d it's gonna freak you out more and he was like i don't want to wear these glasses on top of my glasses and i was like fair so we returned those tickets and then drove straight to another movie theater to see it in not 3d did you sell the tickets you

already bought no refund okay yeah it's not it's not hard like they there's only so many movie theater chains especially in la that like you can just transfer them over to a different to the different uh location you don't even have to do like a full exchange what it's not that serious i just asked oh your face i was like okay wrong no but uh but um um i i loved it i also loved it because i am i don't know if you know this about me no you're a superman girl i know i told not the whole time i am such a diehard superman girl i started watching when i was a wee chap when the black and white version of the tv show came on nick at night where i have to stay up to like 10 o'clock when it would come on and i would watch it i loved

lois and clark the new adventures of superman it was like my most favorite show like the nanny and lois and clark raised me i told mots i was like no no superman's like that's like that's like melissa's it's not even just like melissa's superhero like that's one of like melissa's like five things yes i was like she loves superman and we literally were thinking about it and i need to remember what it was but we had like i think he wrote it down or maybe neither of us wrote it down we were saying we were gonna remember but we we wrote down like questions that we had about superman lore for you but now i don't remember them but i was like we'll just ask melissa and he goes wait so it's like that and i was like no no it's it's like that the

movies have gotten it the recent movies have gotten superman so wrong that it pissed me off like the last couple years because i've never liked it made him such a like you haven't yeah we need a good one and you'll like him we need a good one where they remember that he grew up on earth therefore he would have more earth he would not be a fucking robot how they've made him in a lot of movies like kyle xy granted it is their fault for casting henry cavill because i do think that man is also a robot okay you said like kyle xy and then said henry cavill as if it was the same thing but it's not yeah yeah yeah agree but they also the way that they wrote him and it was so the past ones have been so dark and so serious and that superman is supposed to be like yeah yeah

loose like he's a human ish even though he isn't alien like he he has been dealing with that his whole life of like trying to fit in but he still grew up on a farm in kansas yeah and i think this this film did a great job of showing that but we were not with him as clark enough what i do appreciate though you know i'm a racial rossingham fan down bad i know i was like this is literally like it's this man and she gets fucking yeah she's gonna be so excited she did a great job as lois they've also been getting lois wrong great job as lois i liked spoilers about if you haven't seen it sorry but like go see it it's it's superman like i didn't feel like there was anything that i felt it is superman but we got straight into their relationship without the

stupid who was this man and they played with it at the beginning like i need you to go back and watch because you haven't watched the trailer i need you to watch the trailer because they do include that scene of the like the switch of her being like so you'd let me interview like no she doesn't say you'd let me interview superman it just starts with like superman and he goes miss lane and i don't know if it was me being an idiot in my mind i'm like yeah she has no idea this is but that's how no that's how it usually is but like in the trailer i think they were trying to do that in the trailer if that's how they did it that's how it is because it's usually like even that was kind of an homage to um the superman the first superman film where she just asked

superman if she can interview him and he goes miss lane like that is yeah part of it and so like a lot of times we're not his clark outfit huh i know but he doesn't have his glasses on oh okay okay because i was like am i fucking no no he didn't have his glasses on when she asked him and that's what i liked about when he got home oh i never where when he was at home he didn't have his glasses on and so like he's like he gets to be yes he gets to be himself and so we don't see the goofy clark at the daily planet we don't see him all robotic as superman he's just himself and i appreciate that i didn't i didn't that's i'm so glad you pointed that out i didn't notice that because you're right like there it was the first i guess yeah like there was a third

version of him there's like which is him that's who he is yes wow okay okay yeah i the the the burning in my loins i feel for that man when he has that floppy curly hair those glasses that build that man is so hot that man must turn sideways to walk through doors and like i i love it he's married with child so we have i know i know but like for me they're just hot together chemistry together moths literally after the movie he goes their their partners are strong yes i was like yeah yeah yeah like that but i will say in it when they're in interviews that you don't it doesn't seem it but just them on screen so hot like i appreciated us again we started talking about it and then we got off track but like them just skipping to

she knows who he is they've been in a relationship for three months we don't get that origin of like will they won't they type of thing we're just straight into their relationship and i loved it which that's what they did for the first tom holland uh spider-man which i i love like there's something like really fun about like a comic book movie that we've had so many like film iterations of just cutting to a different part of the story and like having it be more established yes and like that's really that's like really fucking fun and it's a way to kind of just like get into the action in in a seamless sort of way that you don't have like the and you're not comparing it essentially like shot for shot to other other ones yeah i also like at the end that

perry and jimmy know that he's superman but they they don't know that you know that he's superman they're like how long have they been hooking up i was like that's so funny did you see the interview of the i think it's in skylar's scene that plays jimmy is that his name i don't know or is that i haven't seen any interview with another girl skylar gizondo um where he did an interview um and how when he first got sent like the sides for this of being like for superman and this is when i'm like god sometimes i wish i was a fucking man and he went damn like james gunn wants me to be superman like that's kind of like a crazy casting but like sure not my first for jimmy well it's like he did the audition got a call back and then that went well and his agents

were like hey he loves you and he was like whoa crazy like that i mean again i wouldn't have picked me and then he to his agents he goes for superman and they're like yeah for the superman movie and he was like for like superman in superman and his agents were like no what why would you think that and he was like yeah i don't know and maybe because if the sides were like the way they would have been because they were like they made him more of a ladies man which jimmy is never just like a ladies man so maybe he saw that and thought i think they were without a doubt 100 just dumb they were dummy sides so regardless it's you don't know but he thinks it's for soup and they didn't specify which role he just thought it was for superman and then he eventually told

james gunn and he was like he's he laughed for like five minutes straight he is the most jimmy looking jimmy that has ever existed in any adaption of this they've never got jimmy right either everyone look at this like this is how he looks in the comics and they nailed it and they've never had a jimmy that looked like this before you reverse google image search yes headshot pops up yes and also people were saying i obviously don't know as much about the lore people were saying like him thinking he was reading for superman it's a very jimmy thing it is and i was like oh i guess that solidifies that you you were cast as the right yes as the right character yeah i love i like i loved i also have to say james gunn has a a skill of making some of like my favorite

fight sequences just in general like how they're choreographed like there's certain times like i can look back on is it winter soldier or some avengers there's something where's a fight scene with um scarlett johansson and uh bucky and uh uh samuel jackson in the car there's like certain ones i can point out from different like comic book movies and i'm like oh that fight sequence was like really cool but like usually it's nothing to do with like oh someone if they're not like the big ordeal they're like hand-to-hand combat ones these rarely do i like think a cgi fight sequence is like entertaining all the way through these i was like i was so incredibly impressed with them yeah that's why i was like i feel like in 3d it wouldn't be like no because it felt real and not

over the top real as you can with someone that can fly and shoot lasers out of their eyes yeah like but it looked like no like yeah look normal like we're doing it and i also saw there's this huge debate between james gunn and um uh david corn sweat about um and like mulling over if they were gonna do i forget what they called it like the briefs or the shorts that go over the red ones yeah and they were like you know will they look stupid like all this stuff and they find a way to like justify it because it's like of the superman of their time and like i was looking in the comments of this tiktok and all of these guys were like oh my god i can't i'm gonna tell you right i didn't notice them in the entire movie this is one of those things about like men

who are like so hyper aware of other men that i'm like this is just performing to men if you got rid of those it is because men were like no this why are you men so obsessed with what's hugging his junk in his butt i did notice them just because i was looking at the suit i wanted to see how the suit looked on screen because that is an iconic part of the suit but like it wasn't in a way that was distracting no and they're like well they look silly and i'm like that's how they look silly it's just what you're there's draws on top of his spandex suit yeah i'm like it's silly to begin with your spandex suit with fake muscles built into it right that i'm sorry that's what this is you're wearing cobalt blue bright red and and gold you shoot lasers out of your

eyes like i'm not concerned about you have a little belt on like i'm not concerned to hold up his briefs hold up your little shorts like it's just like you're not wearing shoes like i there's none of to me there's boots they're boots but they blend but they're boots they're like a seamless but remember when they were uh when there were initial photos of it being released and he was putting his boots on in the photos before like this was like a preview i think oh you're right they are red yeah um but he was putting them on and they were like he looks gay that's i'm like you know but like do you know what i'm talking about no hold on let me find it fellas is it gay to put on shoes right and like how do you think he puts his boots on he's literally sitting

other characters like they got cat grant right it's and not made her like this over the top floozy that's just like throwing herself at him even though we didn't get that much of her the dog was funny because that was really so funny our introduction to super cara super girl and did you see they dropped the poster saying it's coming super girl's movie yeah they dropped like an hour ago oh that's so cool um so we're getting her movie i'm i'm just i'm excited like it felt good it felt really good and i can watch everybody in this film i can watch them over and over again like i want the sequel and part three and part four and part five like they just did it right and they picked like a good story like i loved mr terrific and then like i thought he was

like there was so much a comedy aspects to like every character without it being like but there's always still a straight man to kind of play off of versus like guardians everyone's kind of like goofy and then your straight mans are like zoe saldana and uh uh jillian but even is she the straight man because she's goofy as hell but i'm saying but they're but it's like a level of like they're being such the like my god guys you're being so silly that they're also being funny about it like everyone's playing like a comedy so i thought there was just such a good uh mix of all of these things together and it was just so just like yeah just like so so good and i forgot that nick i had to remind myself nicholas holt by

the way like i'm constantly having to remind myself like that man can fucking act oh wow that's fun like he can act and like he was so he was he was like phenomenal he was good lex and not my favorite but he was good lex but i just thought the whole thing was like so great like the it was the plot was entertaining and like and sometimes it feels like you have to do a couple of movies before you get into like the good stories or like oh i can't i just want them to get to this or this or this but i thought it was just so good i love that it pissed off conservatives um and which is hilarious to me because i'm like canonically the only thing i know about superman is he's quite literally an alien and he's quite literally an immigrant

so that's always been a through line even his parents sent him here for a better life uh-huh like that's literally his origin story yeah and i mean there's i remember i watched smallville not all of it but that was my sexual awakening yeah i was already awake but my eyes it went from max goof to fucking smallville overnight and i said i'm actually a woman i i'm actually a woman and i need you biblically but there's like one episode where he literally is like hiding something like someone who is undocumented and his mom is like trying to like turn him in and he was like mom i'm i'm undocumented like you for you you did all and like that you took me and took me in and all this kind of stuff and she's like that's different

i'm like yeah he's just always how he is and who he's been and it was just oh it was so good i cried i laughed i did too i just i just wanted a little bit more of him at the daily planet me too where he wasn't the goof wasn't that he had interviewed himself i will i but i think they can do that more in other films of them like working on a case together but that also being part of the story yeah i think it's because they started part way through that was like we got to focus on yeah commit to focusing on i get it i get it but i like i just wanted it no me too because they also didn't make gags about a phone booth which i know they don't exist but they always put one in there for because in the original how he would change

is that he would go into a phone booth and then walk out superman like like he would turn it to be magic or he would like physically take he would walk into it and then do his little swirly thing but because when it it was originally thought out they weren't thinking cgi because this was like in the 50s so like he would walk into the phone it'd be like a trick and change because then he would like whirl around and then change and then walk out and then they also didn't do the look in the sky it's a bird it's a plane it's superman those are two things they didn't do but otherwise great film i yeah i loved it i thought the soundtrack was also very good and it was like sentimental in a way that i think comic book movies superhero movies are supposed to be yeah and i loved it

loved it everyone should go see it it's so good i want to see it again i do too maybe now i'll see it in 3d but i'm just like picturing like but also it seems like a lot of other people also accidentally booked for 3d because they were looking at the glasses like oh god what do we what do we do it maybe that's why it was kind of empty yeah on saturday i had like a me day i got my hair done then i went to the the mall to century city and picked up some stuff that i had ordered online but they're customizing my shorts that i'm wearing to beyonce cute um then i walked around the american girl place mall because i was like our american girl store because um i still had

time to kill before i went to the movies and we need to go i forgot to tell you my neighbor literally just went she like two days before you went to century city she went to century city and then she took her wife to the american girl doll store and was trying to explain it to her and her wife was like what the fuck is it where's your wife from i just don't think she was into american girl dolls but how could you not know just know like the historical ones like and the lore of that like she just was not aware how old are they in their 40s i think i just don't understand how you could miss it no like i mean moths didn't know about well the historical like the those historical dolls i can understand that from moths but like i think it was more along the lines of

how each of them like have like a story because she was looking for one of her she was looking for felicity and then the worker under her breath really quietly was like do you not know about felicity and she was like what no i had felicity as a kid like i was looking i wanted to show felicity to see that and she goes oh felicity's not we don't we don't put felicity out she's not in rotation she was like wait what happened she goes felicity canonically felicity did own slaves and she was like what and it was like yeah yeah and she was like when did this when did you when you get rid of the book she was like when did you get rid of felicity she goes honestly way too late way too late and i was like wait so they got they had felicity the same time they had addy

yeah well if you i remember when there was just like the rollout of each doll because at first addy didn't exist and then she existed but if you go upstairs what by where the restaurant is they do have all the originals up on the wall oh i should tell her that yeah we got it i i want to go we have to go and then they had the share and dion up from um clueless they had the dolls up and i sent it to you that's one of the five texts i look like i gotta respond hold it up wait they're so cute yes i'm dying the outfits are spot on they're perfect so you're going to see jurassic park now yeah yeah so i did that i went to the movies i went

i had a um dubai's chocolate teeny was on the menu what yeah you went to ipig and you had tell me i'm sorry so is it's alcohol chocolate it was a pistachio pistachio liqueur okay like an amaretto but pistachio yeah with chocolate i think there was rum in there and then they had the little pastry around the room they and they did a phyllo rim yeah with chocolate was it it was very strong i'm glad that i had had a meal it was also what two o'clock but i also had food and popcorn so i'm glad i had had that well yeah i mean in general when they do when you put like anything dessert related and alcohol like you actually have to prepare yourself yeah because like the the the sugar can really cut the amount of fucking alcohol they're putting in it and in

order to cut the sugar to make you not think that there's no alcohol they put so much alcohol they put so much alcohol but they do have a drink for jurassic park that i will also be drinking whenever i go what i don't know when this is will be huh what is it i don't know it just looks pretty do they serve it in a coconut or like made no it's not in a coconut it's in a glass and it had it was like purple and blue like it was like spiraled in different colors and i was like i'll get that i don't know when this is gonna be because i got a lot going on yeah next couple weeks but yeah um then i went to urban dessert lab which they were founded in new york and i've been following them in new york because it's plant-based oatmeal based ice cream

and it was so tasty what flavor i got chocolate and then had them they the way that they put their like toppings on they like make a hole and then put it in the inside so then it doesn't fall over on the outside so i had chocolate with chocolate syrup something else but they don't do nuts and i love ice cream because they are very much about um allergens for everyone yeah and i like my sundae with nuts on it so it made me mad happy people with nuts though because they can't i don't think you can eat like any other ice cream place yeah and then um i can't wait for you to get to the park that every weekend next i went to a place across the way that had a delicious drink and then on sunday i was always planning to go to the sparks game my friend ashley was like we're gonna

go because she has season tickets and I was excited I had been waiting while I got up and I watched church and then I was going to the game and then she was like hey I got two extra tickets the people that sit in front of me aren't going do you know any lady that wants to go I text you and avian i knew avia was at church so i was like i'll see if she actually responds you i was like i'm gonna give her 20 minutes and then i'm calling her because i know she isn't and meanwhile have shot out other text messages to other people but i was like these are the two people that get taught dibs and i called you and then you didn't answer but then you texted me right away yeah and so yeah we got to go to the game not just go no but like we were right behind

court side the amount of people who as they tried to direct me went these are good tickets yeah they are and they were like you're like right there yeah they were everybody was a girl you have great tickets you have great seats and i was like cool can you help me get to that did you not come in the vip entrance like i told you to do i did but then i think i thought i was looking for the statue later and i think i must have missed the statue no the thing is you came you i didn't park in the right parking lot in the right parking lot so i should have taken i didn't think about that but i should have texted back because y'all parked in the right parking lot so you wouldn't have even seen the statue i mean i didn't start looking for the statue until after i was already kind of like

farther in and i was like oh but i went through a vip entrance yeah okay so then you must have just gone upstairs instead of going downstairs yeah okay i don't think i stayed with the vips i think i mingled with with the general admission yeah so we have vip court side we got to go on the side where they had food and drinks and sweetie and sweetie yes yes i i was i was dead it was it was so exciting yeah i i i love sports i love basketball it's my first basketball game i've literally ever seen i've never even sat through a whole like high school basketball game oh my gosh i love this for you no i and now mods i like told him how much i loved it and he was like okay find another like sports arts game and i'll buy us

tickets we'll go love it okay and they won and they won we had a good time we saw coco and emily there coco's parents were on the kiss kiss cam i said that i was like wait were you guys on the kiss cam they're like we were i was like that's so funny uh coco saw me in the crowd looking confused trying to find her all the way across um it was like yeah i had so much fun and i'm so i'm like not a last minute planner and it wasn't even like that like you texted what like 11 and it was at like 2 30 um but my car was dead so i had to take mons's car his car the the cord doesn't work so the gps doesn't plug into it so like it's on my phone on full volume i'm like listening to beyonce just out of the speaker of my phone as i'm driving and then it like pauses

the bluetooth wasn't hooking up and i was like i was getting so stressed i took one wrong turn and i added like eight extra minutes it was like this whole fucking thing i think the gps was off because it told me to get off on a street and then get back on the highway that's like it had me get off go around the corner and then when i got around the corner it was like get back on the highway not the one directly in front of me where it would have been the on ramp for the other people like it literally i got off and then got back went around a corner and got back on that's fucked up yeah that's sabotage sabotage but when i was like matz wasn't home and so that's i was like well i don't know what he's gonna like i need him to get home so i

can have a car and i was like talking about and he was like you gotta go this is like you gotta go that man has never turned down free sports like free sports games tickets ever so like for me being like well you know i just want to see how much the footage is that i have to import that i have to edit that's due tomorrow like all those things he's like no you gotta go and i was like i want to go and i'm so glad also everybody there the vibe was just great it was great we had fun like everyone around was so nice and i think that comes with it being women's sports like No, literally. We don't have that toxic vibe there.

and there were two other meats but duck was the was another and then there was one more but i don't remember what it was i feel like i would definitely i guess maybe i would in fact pick you know bird or bird adjacent because don't cats like to chase a bird they like to kill them and then bring it back and say look what i did but maybe they like the flavor maybe yeah no like the way that that cat her name's nala the way that cat was like sniff i don't know if she could smell it through the can but the way that she was like a bouncing on that that those cans it was like yeah i want this shit oh my god yeah fiending for it wow i guess it was good worth the money i get yeah i think you pay for nice stuff like that i don't know i don't know how much regular cat food
