chartered in someone just hopped off the planet lax with a dream and a cardigan and i actually did have a cardigan on good good good good yeah um we were gonna split record as we do but my mom was getting cataract surgery yesterday and um it only took 20 minutes but it just took 45 minutes to bring her in and it was just too late and i still had to pack and stuff and i was like i can't i can't how'd her surgery go good she was looked like a cyclops zombie after but you know because she only got one eye done and then she has to have a patch over it so

but then she went to sleep and then she was fine when she woke up the eyes are miraculous things, the things they can do to those eyeballs I was reading about it and I was like oh they put a laser in there and then break shit up that's what cataract surgery is

cool the person I know who's got it also got it in one eye and it was also Cyclops vibes apparently that's so interesting one day that'll be me i guess is that that's happening for everybody i think it happens pretty much for everybody okay so i've had lasers in my eyes before yeah so my dad got it done a couple months ago both eyes or one eye one eye and then went back and got the other and i think my mom will have to do the same too that's interesting yeah i don't know much about a cataract nor it makes your eyes

cloudy and a cadillac is an american made bar oh okay good difference between those two that makes sense it's adding up it's adding up um i had a traumatic morning do you want to hear about it yeah melissa was wondering because like i was very on time and she's like mitch you're way more like i didn't even i just didn't understand i was one we usually start at 11 and you're like 10 56 i'm ready i was like what and we never actually start at 11 it's usually 11 30 12 and so i was asking for a time so i knew when to get up and you were just like 15 minutes and i was like whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa i'm not ready oh joris is um i you know i've been waking up i've been falling asleep very early and waking up very early on my schedule now

i don't know if it's intentional my allergies have been whooping my goddamn fucking ass i think by the end of the day my eyes are so watery and itchy i just i'm like i have to close them and uh so i've been waking up a little bit earlier and this morning when we woke up we didn't have sausage for breakfast in so much like oh i'm gonna go get it um but it is there's it's senior hour before 8 a.m and we really abide by that and turns out like a lot of people don't they just like still go and i asked once i was like was it busy and he was like yeah that's like filled with seniors and i was like oh that's so rude he's like i know like let them shop during senior hour and like we just go and so i'm like you know awake for a good amount of time and my

issue is if i lay in bed for too long before i get up awake i get heartburn i don't know why i mean i've asked to reflux i've always had that but like that's just like a i gotta be i gotta sit up once i'm awake and so you gotta get that reclining bit like exactly and so i'm already like on the couch and i'm already feeling like okay i'm feeling a little nauseous and it's like oh we don't have breakfast and like again usually if the longer i wait before i eat if i sleep in i can't eat because my stomach acid bad so like there's a whole timing situation so he goes and i make my coffee he made the pot i pour the coffee i wash the milk frother i do all of that and he comes home and we've assembled my coffee we sit down to do our little crossword it's gonna be lovely

and as this is a lot for a thursday this is like this is like saturday sunday this is our every morning jesus christ and i go to grab my glasses because i i put my eye drops i don't have my contacts in yet and i go to grab my glasses and of course my little center um it's like a little basket we put on our coffee table with like remotes and my meds and like other stuff of course by the end of the week month it like accumulates a bunch of other shit and it's overflowing and so then i accidentally drop two pairs of glasses into my coffee and then i accidentally drop the remote and i'm like oh no and i'm like fixing wats is like oh my god and then i sit back on the couch and as i'm adjusting on the couch i somehow forget i'm holding a coffee and i spill this

scalding hot coffee all over my tits my tummy and my crotch oh my god i'm standing i'm like and monta's like like running around me like oh paper towel paper towel running you need to take all your clothes off yes but i am standing in front of a bay window and i'm dripping and so i'm like trying to grab i'm trying to like just like dry off with the dry parts of the clothes then the paper towels were in the bathroom because we were cleaning the bathroom because my in-laws are coming into town like we're running back and forth and i apply like cold damp paper towels all over my all over my body and that's before i was even able to have my coffee like that was what my coffee did to me before i could even drink it so i did have to remake the

coffee and also on top of that when i took one sip of the coffee before i spilled it all over myself i was like and he was like what yeah it probably tastes like glasses it was no it was disgusting and yeah i think it was just because it was too strong and i was like yuck and he's like well you know you didn't have to do all that to get me to remake you another cup of coffee and i was like i know that was not on purpose um but that's how my day started so i was like really awake and burning and ready for four in the go rip and ruin yes yes yes let me make moth turn the ac down can you oh and then uh i had done laundry yesterday and i was like oh let's bring up the hand i wash all the hand towels and so we don't have any right now and so i was like oh

babe could you go grab those while i'm getting ready and he's like yeah for sure and he calls me from downstairs and goes you never turned the dryer on i was like no i did i did this at four I did this at like 3 p.m. yesterday and I was like no I turned the dryer on so somehow there was like a short it short fused something and so then we had to run it all again and I was like cool what a good morning to be me well good job Megan thank you so much Melissa I like how you held your brush makeup brush up if you want to look you can look on our Spotify as if it was a microphone but there is a microphone in front of your mouth it does look like another yeah i'm like just i'm just double fisting

yeah the microphone like you're at a press conference and there's like 20 there i would love that i had interesting long long week because i started my new job two weeks ago so i'm trying to be on top of that while staying on top of podcasting i've got a couple audiobooks coming up in the next couple weeks it's been a lot on top of being in arkansas doing family things still haven't watched any of my soap operas um haven't watched the grazed anatomy season finale and Nicole spoiled some of it because she thought I watched it and I was like

bitch I said on the episode I haven't watched anything I had so many so many graduations slash celebrations and I want to present

I want to present a non but am I wrong hot take because I don't want anybody else's opinion on this no i think you're just right actually i don't think you need anyone else's why are there so many graduations i went to a pre-k graduation for my youngest niece then i went to a kindergarten graduation for my nephew why why do we need to pre-k to kindergarten why why are there two graduations there you are in the same building you aren't going anywhere then we had a two two of my nieces are in fifth grade but wait back to the preschool one uh-huh like you just got here

what do you mean we have to celebrate you like you you're not going anywhere either but also going down the hall god here yes i know you're just you you just got to the place where you're starting and now we're still starting and like yes we have to celebrate that you not leaving to a place you literally just arrived to in addition to kindergarten when it's the same thing there's a kindergarten graduation as well it's crazy fifth grade graduations why didn't they put them all together one so it was two separate graduations same school same school exact same program they sang the same songs they had the same guest speaker who was a nepo baby his his uh aunt was the um principal and then he got an award i mean a scholarship at the thing for

in there she was like it was anonymous i was like let's just lean into this we know what this is one you have him speaking at all these graduations how old is he he was graduating from um high school but like they have him come had him come to give the speech at both we'll say after he did the first one the second one was much better he was more prepared and so they like present him with his scholarship and she's like it's it was anonymous i said i don't i don't i don't believe you even if it was anonymous maybe they read them anonymously anonymously and then at the end they were like wait we gotta go back and give it to him i i truly don't care because she tried to make a big deal out of it my my niece that was in the first class her teacher spent the whole time

talking about how her like fifth grade graduate she made it all about her about her fifth grade graduation about her when she first started at this school at the time she was the youngest teacher we also like i said we got the same song that they were singing everything else was the exact same except for the teacher giving the speech then my next niece she also um did it but her teacher actually talked about the students and i was like great that's what we're supposed to do why are we maybe that's more seasoned and senior to teach her in the very young no she was younger than her oh talking about being the youngest teacher and while no longer being the youngest teacher what's the point of that like i used to be young and now i'm older so did i

yeah same so did these fuckers who are graduating children how big are these fucking classes they're not big there's like 20 people in the class so there's like no school at this time right because like no it's all you have to do school's still going on they're just like having slots and then they still have to go back to school which makes no sense no this makes absolutely zero sense do they wear caps and gowns no well the kindergarten did the kindergartners wear caps and gowns oh that's actually kind of cute it was cute i did have like a little kindergarten graduation where i did also have on a capping out and i also was cute I didn't have it. But it was fast. I had a little yellow. I'll have to find it. I'll have to tell

my mom to send it to me. You can post it. Yeah. Oh, yeah. That's adorable. One day you're negotiating with suppliers. The next you're installing a shelf in the back room. in the video they showed one black kid this is a very diverse school oh these are this is not like a stock this is like of the school yeah video yeah of students at the school there's asians there's marshallese there's mexican there's black but the video had all white people in one age and one black boy that played golf curious yeah my niece was on homecoming court they didn't show her they showed other people on the homecoming corp yep she also um found it and was the president of the black students association and they told her that they couldn't have their like uh their cords it was a sash they had sashes they were like we won't do it because this isn't a group that is ordained by the school and then my mom's like fuck that i'll just buy them and then get them

engraved and then they wouldn't let them wear them the asian kids did sneak their cords in for their association so ordain the fucking club right in the organization like yes if you were like the school has to do this okay school yeah do it yep the principal has black kids it's principal uh it's principal who i think yeah so um i was pissed about that i will be writing a letter don't worry by the time mj gets up there there will be some flavor in that by the time mj gets up there mj will have his own video yeah he also won like outstanding science student in the state and i was like i didn't know you were a nerd congratulations but welcome to the club you're so 98.2 percent in science this is so ava i don't know you're a nerd

oh damn that's impressive yeah wow how old is he now he's going to ninth grade so he's in eighth grade whatever age that is yeah yeah so he's in high school he will be you said he's going to ninth he's going to ninth eighth grade middle school but it won't and it's still ninth grade is still in junior high so he's okay that's what's the range yeah so lots of lots of interesting things going on at that school and like i said i was like is mr jink still the principal because he was my physics teacher and he loved me megan was like no he's old now i was gonna go have a word with him because i was like what i was gonna say mr jinks what's i don't understand what's going on what changed right how did you do this yeah and he wasn't even like he was because when

i went to school it was just one high school and then it split megan's year well it didn't really split she only had 40 people in their class because they didn't make everybody switch over unless they wanted to and switch over to what to the new school because it was their senior year and they were like you don't have to go unless you want to go oh so they took the district and split a school that was for two and i mean for one into two yes okay yeah and so like they made like the 10th and 11th graders that were in the area moved but then the seniors they didn't have to and there were just like 40 people in her class because they they were like no we don't want to we want to be in the new school why would we stay at this old school that's fair yeah wow i've already

started crafting i had a little notebook because i didn't want to i get sick if i have my laptop on the plane but i started making notes about what yes about what i was gonna um write in my letter so i'm i'm deeply fascinated that you get sick on airplanes like that yeah yeah yeah because like i get sick on i get sick on like everything but not airplanes i can't do anything on airplanes sometimes i get nauseous but just like not because of the airplane just because like sometimes i just get nauseous yeah wow then i sat through tornado watch so i was gonna ask about that but like when i saw them it was the day that you were flying oh no no it was clear that day okay good because that's when i saw them on online that people were talking about it when i saw in

the context of people talking about it in like arkansas and i was like i'm not texting her if she has to get i wouldn't have got on the plane no i was like she would tell me if she's not flying home and like i'm not gonna bring it up because no no no that's no it happened on monday oh shit it was pouring down raining to the point where it i was taking a nap and it woke me up the wind was blowing i think they said it was like 50 miles per hour hail started coming down i was like the sirens started going off i was like mom and dad we got to go to the hallway my mom was already getting ready my dad sitting next to a huge bay window was like i'm just gonna watch the news i said don't be fucking stupid get your ass up and get into this hallway

you don't have to cushion me well apparently i do you need to watch your mouth if you knew my dad's an excellent impression i believe you so yeah it was scary and i was like writing in the hall and had the news up on my um phone and uh yeah so we were like that for about 30 minutes and the one that was headed our way started going the other way and then the brain stopped so oh good yeah i i ended up on like just started finally seeing them it's like i didn't even know they started as early as monday but like i just started seeing that stuff on tiktok and like holy shit yeah but the time wednesday it was like completely clear like i said it was not a bump in the air as i was flying seeing stuff about tornadoes and also don't kill me everybody

don't kill me oklahoma uh watching twisters made me understand a bit more people uh saying what i deem as stupid and sensitive shit during the fires because i was like oh these are fully different beasts like there are things of tornadoes where it's like oh tornado watch there's not a fire watch the fire happens fire's going and i was like this whole thing of people being like you're an idiot for this isn't this and i was like holy shit but then learning more about torn i was like oh we have set up an ample warning system that trump is you know currently trying to dismantle and that that's the worst damage is when we're not getting it or when like on the rare occasion that it does like totally pivot in a way that like they were not even on

like a somewhat warning but i feel like i'm learning a lot about tornadoes and you do you watch twisters no i watched the original one i kind of want to watch the original one now um but you should because it was like one of the first cgi movies so it's it's not like watching it's not bad no the flying cows was like a big deal like they were talking about it all over the like news and stuff because of how realistic they made oh sick i'll watch it but so the opening scene which is not a spoiler but the opening scene in twisters uh i forgot they just put it for a while like i'd be like was it a z or an s it was an s they weren't going that crazy twisters that sounds like a right that's gonna be the third one yeah um but uh i guess there was like

a common misconception and myth that was like killing people which was that this where you should go during if you are on the road during a tornado it's like you should go in yeah in an underpass and that's like the worst place to go because it becomes a vacuum which as people who live in california specifically southern california where we have winds like you know that like if you're in a valley versus you're up like the wind desperate like seriously changes so like anything where you are contained like that i'd be like no worst place to be but that's how they start that is like basically disproving that and like except for one they all die like and they all get whipped out and everyone's like and i saw on tiktok people were talking about like how important that was for

them to include because still to this day people are trying to like rationalize with and like with their parents about them saying that that's where they need to go and they're like no this is not this is like not safe it's not safe it's not safe and i was like oh that is so so interesting i didn't know i was twisters was going to be educational it felt educational i'm speaking of your father my vocal stim for the last week has been quiz latifa i oh my gosh stop saying i literally walk around the house and i go quiz and i turn them on so i go quiz let me read exactly what happened you guys it had me in goddamn fucking stitches sean mendez stitches i was i was a text me this well i was cooking dinner i had one hand stirring a hello fresh the other hand

clutching my side as i'm crossing my legs going don't be your pants i was laughing so fucking hard i go back and i read this conversation i've read it at least a dozen times and i can't stop saying quiz latifah it is the funniest thing that it is so fucking funny so my i'm just walking from the kitchen to my room and he's in the living room and he goes when did sam poof get a tv show and i said i don't know who you're talking about and he goes yeah you do he had a song with quiz latifah i said i don't know who either of these people are and then he goes it's been a long day without you my friend and i'll tell you about it when i see you again he came out around the time your uncle larry died and i said you mean charlie pooth and wiz khalifa he's like yeah

i guess that's it i still don't know what tv show you sent me what it was it's a fucking roku show from like 2024 which is just again knowing your dad is just it's like his tv patterns of being like when i will watch a new streaming show that like most of dad and i have very similar taste in tv shows i'm like oh melissa he would love this and she goes he can't he he's not on the streaming for the fact for him to reference a roku original that i have never heard of before i think he was watching gun smoke as that's all he watches now since he found out how to get to that on roku i think i don't know what streaming services i know it's i know what it's on it's on peacock because he was messing with my algorithm and i had to create him him his own account but

that's the only thing he knows how to watch on there so that's all he watches that and gun smoke and the lone ranger and and the news and sports that's yep it's right now he's not even watching his procedurals like he used to and even like at one point he was like i went to i was putting on my shoes in the living room he's like oh i've seen this episode and i was like what when you were five and he goes no i've seen it since since it came on i was like okay sure and then he told me about how when he was a kid because the show isn't a black and white show of course and also i looked it up it was only on for a year while he was alive so i don't know where he was watching this um but he told me like when color tvs were first like getting into the mainstream

him and his brother would go down and i thought this was just something they did in movies where they would have a bunch of like the color tvs in the display case and people would stand around and watch it but he said him and his brothers would go he was like five or six they would just walk down and watch i forgot what he said but something on that they were the only two black kids where it was a bunch of white kids around i was like oh that's rough in 1960 little rock arkansas black and white tvs yeah because again i've only ever seen that in movies and when i'm seeing them look on the tvs and the it's not they're not looking at good stuff no so um and then he made a joke in that yeah after we finished watching we beat up a white

kid and i was like okay dad shut up he just wants you to know that he's tough he's not no i know but he's like five seven and a half he wants he's very skinny i could go like this and he'd flick him and he'd fall over he wants you he also now has like a little limp in his leg He's been sitting too long. Arale, I was like, you need a cane. I was like, I literally asked him that yesterday. And he goes, I have five. And I said, why aren't you using any of them?

movie i've seen a it probably isn't the same one but yeah like the same game and um one started playing and i said oh aliens redhead and mons was like what and then i go the alien there's aliens in that redhead and then it's like arrival and months goes how is that what sticks in your head like aliens and a redhead you couldn't even say which redhead it's just aliens and like he's like that's not even the words i would have used to describe this movie if you gave me like 10 words i'm not saying alien redhead for arrival right and i was like that's why i think i connected so deeply with the facts that your your father clung on to because i'm like hey that's how i remember thinks to oh my god but it literally i literally have quizlativa written down in my notes because

i was like i have to give him his flowers because that gave me the biggest giggle of my fucking life hold on i just have to go back to this alien and you go to arrival because i if you say aliens and a redhead i'm gonna think aliens the actual movie aliens because sigourney weaver is a redhead i know nothing about that i know nothing i just saw that it was like the greeny blue forest and there's like the big windows and someone watched arrival next to me on a plane okay and so i saw a redhead and i saw something and i knew there and then i looked it up later because i was like what's that about and it was about aliens and so that's what redhead alien okay and watch was like i have and he's like i think it's arrival and i was like i don't know and then when it popped up

i like looked up i go yeah redhead alien he's like there's no that's insane i had to confirm that sigourney weaver was a redhead before i made this statement um because i you know yeah i had to be on point and now that i'm looking the first alien movie was called alien and then the second was called aliens so they they follow that same the twister twister sound follow the same logic oh believe me i i know i know way too much about the alien franchise because matz is addicted to those movies oh god oh he loves them and to me that is like my worst nightmare and also like it's of an allegory for like pregnancy and i'm like yeah i just know that scene and yeah that's all i know too that's all and they didn't tell them what was going to happen in the scene and

so everybody's expression is not them acting it is an actual actual what they were feeling when that thing came out of that stomach horror people as someone who's done that not that but like who has done like horror related things people who work in horror they love they love to tell you we're not gonna tell you what's gonna happen we just want your reaction and then suddenly you're being absolutely like sprayed with blood and you scream or something pops out and i was like by the way i could just act right like i am afraid that like i'm gonna hit you like or like my reflex like you could just you could just tell me it's called acting for a reason yeah i did audition for this multiple times you did cast me and i swear they just think it's fun

yeah no they're like look at my art yeah look what my art can do to you wasn't that cool why can't i do my art then my art is acting why can't i do my art it's a really great question and then they make you still do 35 takes and they don't pick the first one anyway yeah you're like alien they only did one take so well yeah that's and they were working on film so they have to be i was gonna say that's that's one of the perks of uh back in the day wow um i would like to nominate a non non but am i wrong yeah but i would like to nominate a movie to replace game night and motz was trying to sell me on this movie which is again funny tying back to we should explain your feelings for game night game night is a horror film game night is the

scariest movie ever made game night is the worst comedy no it is game night is fucking terrifying jesse plemmons in that role is my fucking sleep paralysis even like it is the scariest movie i have ever seen i think i've watched it twice two times too many saw in the movie theater i was i was i was shaking and quaking the entire time and afterwards i had to i had to decompress i'd watch a whole other movie afterwards and then i watched it one more time where i didn't even put my glasses on and i was staring at my phone and i was still my heart was i've never taken more beta blockers in a short time frame than trying to watch game night i will never watch game night again and this weekend i thought it was pretty good i i when i hear i hate i can't send the chill up my

spine when uh this weekend mons was like it was saturday because like friday i kept trying to tell him which i'll get to that but so saturday he was like let's watch something and he's like okay i think this movie would be fun to watch and i just i don't know if it's a little bit too much like game night to like let's watch the trailer if you want to read reviews or anything like that and he pulls up lovebirds i don't know what that is so take in mind similar to me saying redhead alien friday the night before mox asked me what i want to watch and i said whatever happened to that oh no i saw this in the theater yeah i said to mox whatever happened to that movie that came out like early pandemic um with with uh with uh they said with with uh with that couple and then

they're in like an uber or something and it's like an action movie and mons was like what and i was like i think the uh i think the guy from is it lovesick which is also funny lovebirds love yeah i was like i think the guy from lovesick and eternal i think he i think he was in it you said a cab and he was also in another movie so that's what he pulled up you thought you meant stuber and i was like that's not no that's which also yeah came out in 2019 and natalie's in that so he like pulled that up on friday and i said no that's not what i'm thinking of and then he on saturday is like i don't know if this and he pulls it up i go this was the movie i was talking about yesterday that i then started to think didn't exist and i was like and i had never

seen a full trailer i saw like a teaser of it and we watched it and it needs to replace game night first of all i disagree so much it's so much fun it's a great it's a great movie it's so funny moss paused 15 seconds into it and said i don't think two people have ever had more chemistry in my life yeah they have like to the point where like sometimes you go i shouldn't be wandering like it is such an intense chemistry and i was like she also has fantastic chemistry with those people but like good god i loved it i did too i thought we were going to be on a roll but then you know the pandemic happened i know and i'm like i don't think this movie got its flat like i don't think it got the credit it deserves and like the fact that i couldn't eat it it

season one and he goes he like turns me he goes are you reading the summaries i go no i'm just picking up on the vibes and he was like this is getting like scary i think that's part of it though because you want to be along with what's her nick your name in the movie in the show charlie charlie yeah i was like it's a unisex name um you want to be along with charlie but we're seeing we're writing with her and if you're picking up on things you should be picking exactly like that's like i have the mind of a procedural viewer because i'm like i have the mind of olivia benson because i'm watching this through the eyes of olivia benson like you get those kinds of so like i do that to every every fucking show now um so of course i cannot live in the moment um but

And Moss was like, yeah, forgot forgot so then we've spent all of these evenings this week cleaning because i'm also on a work deadline for a video that has to be done so i was like how do we convince your family to go with us this weekend i think that they would because your mother-in-law loves movies right yes but apparently mom said she like cannot do any blooded movies at all okay and i was like

fuck but i'm gonna ask her let her know it's a real history lesson so that's why i think she'd be i think she'd be like sad that she wouldn't be like i think she like intellectually would want to go see it and like cinematically would want to go see it but if she's got like a blood of her like straight up like that i don't think that i think that she i just have to ask bonds but i'm like i i cannot wait and so we said we'll see it the day they leave or if they have another thing that they're gonna go to see or do or something so should we put it on so we stopped but am i watching because the last time we did we didn't get a lot of people writing in but then we went into later last year when i finally got into our dms that we were not
