my aunt she'll welcome you into her house she was in like i forgot where she was but she was like in the oc area and i was like great thanks but i think i'll be fine it's been scary that suppose with the one that happened last night that got over to 10 000 acres in an hour seconds yeah wow but they've got it pretty contained right now i think it's yeah 65 so that's where we've been we both live in la so the fires are happening and uh despite what leo skeppy may say uh they're not all contained like this is still an active thing like we're pretty all of los angeles is still an active like we have we're in fire weather right now so like fires are still breaking out every single day it hasn't rained in nine months at this it's supposed to rain this

week i know i hope but i hope so but it's not looking good it's not considering it was 80 degrees yesterday yeah not looking so hot yeah um and it's usually the last two years we've had record rain where it's been raining from november to pretty much march non-stop um and it was the greenest that that it has ever been and now it hasn't and then it died and so then it's just kindling for so much of it and yeah and the unfortunate part is is like i'm absolutely praying for rain but just enough to get out the fires and to like dampen the earth but not so much because we're gonna have mudslides yeah yeah it's gonna happen at some point but it's a waiting game um it's scary we know people that have lost their homes um people that have left the state um

and you know we're just i don't even know we're yeah hanging tight yeah um it's just it's rough and i think a lot of people view uh this through the lens of like social media quote-unquote news where it's like, if you're not here, you like the news. Yeah. The news is going to tell you that Leighton Meester's house right now, the news isn't going to tell you, they're going to talk about these multimillion dollar homes. Also a lot of the news anchors in LA are LA locals. And depending on what network they're on, there's a lot more that are, some networks are a lot of people from the West side, which is the Palisades fire and other networks are a lot of people from the East side, like Easton fire and downtown area and all of that kind of stuff. So if you are only

seeing certain clips the stuff that goes viral is like celebrity stuff and like you know if you say that you you know you don't care about the people who are rich who can just rebuild so like you don't care if their houses burn down cool they have staff they have employees those employees their their houses are near the fire air quality people like we're about to be a fucking mesothelioma ad in a couple like it's just it's it's affecting everybody from all tax brackets whether or not their homes burn down or not but i can promise you people from all tax brackets homes burn down and like as someone who grew up in a very affluent area marin county incredibly fucking rich i did not grow up with marin money because my dad is twice the age of all of my other like friends

parents he bought that when it's like a plot of land for a couple thousand dollars decades and decades and decades ago and you know it's the house has absolutely no value but the land has value over time and like if that house burned down there's no way we could have bought a house ever even even just based on the value of the land um there's also there's also apartment buildings that were burnt down there's also schools schools there's libraries um so not only like have people lost their homes a lot of people have lost their jobs as well um and it's just it's sad it's really yeah like people who lost their homes and then lost their schools and then have to go to a different school than all their friends that they like and they're having

to like divvy that up and it's just like it's so so sad and so devastating um so i feel like everybody knows that that's where we've been um and also because i had to evacuate too and hang out with my adorable niece of course i got sick because that's what happens but she's very cute so she put a bunch she was eating mushrooms for dinner the other night and she just started stacking them on her head and unfortunately it is my fault because as a joke i always put things on my head and i go is that a hat because she can say hat and then she goes hat and i go no it's not a hat and so now she'll put anything on her head including food and say hat and i say no it's not a hat so sorry and that's your influence it is that is actually truly my

watched the cameron diaz jamie foxx movie yet melissa you're gonna it's the greatest movie i know you told me i've been on a very strict writing deadline and we'll talk about that later but um yeah you'll love it when you see it i watched his while i was um going through my clothes and things i watched his stand-up special it is different than what i was expecting it is funny but also a tearjerker uh well yeah because he's also like dancing and singing and being the star is both his one of his daughters introduced him the other like came out and played a song while he was singing like the story behind even that was like so heartwarming um if you want to be in your feels and laugh it's a great great stand-up special oh i'll watch it because you know

me love and there's also a lot of uh gospel music in there so say less say fucking less um but i just want everybody to know who like because i saw it it has for me i think the sweet spot on rotten tomatoes so it's that's the sweet spot for me but i do fear a lot of people see 26 and they go no for me dicey is 40 because i go what do you mean 40 like it's not like comically bad but then that's also just not a good movie it's just not that's too much for me but 26 to sell everyone on why you need to watch it it is spy kids that's what this movie is it is like spy kids and i love it oh it's and then months i watched spy kids again and he was like he hasn't seen it since he was a child and he was like this movie is so weird and i was like i don't think it's weird and i like

couldn't wrap my head around it until he's like megan there are thumbs who have a head that's a thumb and they have two arms that are thumbs and then two legs that are thumbs and they're wearing like i think almost no pants they might be wearing pants but then they're wearing just red little crop tops and they're like fighting people and then there's also robot children like demonic children and i was like i guess you put it that way it's like kind of i guess it's a little off kilter but but it's so good uh and i can't wait for everybody to watch it but i think you'll really like it and that's even a good like i don't want to like slander it and say it's a good background movie but it's like a very good um it's an action movie without

like you could watch it like you can still unwind with it like it's it's very funny i got it um i'll i'm definitely gonna watch it i've been enjoying their press interviews and stuff and you know that i'm limiting my uh netflix access for certain chunks of time so um currently on netflix i've watched a lot of my um old lady movies more of them oh which ones you're gonna hate this but for brady melissa it was so good though it was so first of all you've got let me let me just talk about this cast it is rita morano jane fonda sally feels lily hamlin lily tomlin harry hamlin is also in it oh i do live a harry hamlin moment billy porter is there like who the fuck does billy porter play in this this rich man that uh

reena marano goes and they play uh poker together this it is so good i'm not joking this is okay i'll watch it like i feel like it is a movie you like Guy Fieri is there oh okay say I'm sold Marshawn Lynch is there like Retta is in there for a second it's so good okay I was surprised because I did not I didn't want to I I wanted to like it for them Tom Brady is just kind of there like as like oh he's in it but like more like a little voice in the in a head for like maybe he was in the movie for five minutes okay not really there he is like absolutely devoid of any charisma and anytime he keeps getting commercials i'm like he's not talking directly to anyone so it helps because he'll

just like pop up like on a tv screen but it's more like in the head of somebody okay i i really enjoyed that film really enjoyed it more than i expected to uh it was it was it was better than some of the because i'm watching a lot of ones with her and with john jane john jane fonda and um it's like jane fonda and lily tomlin and um diane keaton like are all swapping between these movies and they are like they mix and mingle too but then like she'll take one of the one of them will be with the other yeah so i'm having fun with it um what uh what else did you watch book club because that fits right in i did watch book club that same day i saw that in theater so i really can't be talking shit on 84 right it's i mean we've got a lot of the same yeah we've got

jane fonda i think of it as like white older women's version of girls trip like that's like the same kind of movie candace bergen's in that one and mary steenburgen um also we also have i've got on the list to see the uh second one as well oh there's a second one yes i gotta watch that you gotta watch it gotta watch it uh had a lot of fun with that one too still 80 for brady was but in my opinion a better movie but i enjoyed both of them i forgot i need to um mark book club off my list of things that i watch please put this on your letterbox oh i am i have it's up you should look at my letterbox because i have very like watching a sequence of like these are all the same genre yes i need you to go to my letterbox what's your

that's fun katherine heigl patrick dempsey they're in a movie together 27 dresses that's patrick dempsey is in that movie in that um you know what james marston and patrick dempsey did kind of the same jury duty that's james marston james marston and patrick dempsey did kind of have the same career so you could be right it's 27 yeah it's him it's not patrick dempsey he would have done that with gray's anatomy oh him and katherine heigl will would not have been in a movie maybe that's why i'm just picturing them next to each other from clips of gray's anatomy but i was seeing gray's anatomy so i did assume that they did a rom-com you know what that makes a lot of sense okay you

know what you're entirely right they don't have never done a movie together what they are known for you'll never believe this great yes might be um but james marsden and patrick dempsey do have very similar like i think they're kind of interchangeable in a lot of the movies they'd been in at that time like they were in very simple like similar fonts of different like same kinds of movies yeah you know but they're i just don't i don't that to me they're not peers to me no they're not because they're not the same age either but like they do play the same male rom-com role yeah well now i need to add those to my list to watch i'm glad that i have influenced you i have a long list of random ass movies that i'm gonna watch okay what do you want

places on the power rangers to fight off against the team's oldest arch nemesis yeah i will say from the photos alone these are this is power rangers a midlife crisis well but the thing is is they like invited some of the ogs back and my favorite the pink ranger um she was like this isn't enough money it said no well yeah it doesn't look like it's a lot of money but it was but netflix was behind it also this franchise it makes so much money they could have paid her if they wanted oh they could have yeah no i'm saying i don't i don't doubt that they didn't offer her good money yeah um poetic justice which i've seen but i was a kid and i was like i need to see it as an adult the 2023 power rangers has 78 because it's a lot of nostalgia

and this is the craziest ratio but it has 5.7 on imdb that's like such a reversed typical ratio wow damn i gotta get me in power rangers those fans are like i'll love no matter what yeah i love that um poetic justice which i saw as a child but i want to see it as an adult princess bride i also saw that as a child oh me too um amelia perez i didn't have any interest in seeing this until the one i'll feel worse and i was like i guess i gotta watch it now you really don't i literally saw a billboard of it i was like what is that and then it won look megan just because i don't need to see it doesn't mean i just don't know i i just the way that i like here's the issue is you don't watch trailers and you don't want to know anything about the movie before going into it

and like knowing what i know about amelia perez like i it doesn't sit i i like i'm bursting at seems to be like you have no idea what you're in for love it it was nominated it almost broke the record for oscar nominations which is crazy people hate this i understand that which is why i have to see why okay can i give you it is a musical by the way i'm aware okay i know because it beat freaking wicked for everything yeah joy right which i've been wanting to watch but it's been on stars but it recently moved over to netflix so um happy about that um baby girl which we've already talked about and i want to do it as a double feature between baby girl and eyes wide shut gotta get both all right what about if you throw in um the one with uh julia

is it julianne moore it's one of the redheads and that kid from riverdale that natalie portman's also in based on the real life story no but all of these are loosely based on aren't they not is this one not this is different because i was gonna say it's then i would do um what's the other uh the one you're talking about was based on the real life story when he was an underage child so i don't oh no no not that one then the anne hathaway one where she dates the harry style but the thing the the important part of this is that both of these movies when i do the double feature they're both nicole kidman movies they need to both be nicole kidman being a freak and that is hathaway as a freak she does it in a nicole kidman kind of

way like it's kind of nicole kidman coded she's like being she's not even like they're that's more just like a romantic movie i want to see ass whippings i want to see fingers and mouths well i guess i don't know if that and that's going to be an anne hathaway movie i need a freaking nicole kidman hey anne hathaway wanted everyone to know that like she fucks do you remember that interview yes she was like no i fuck so i don't know if you'll see it in that movie but you're right but i love that for you i will not be seeing baby girl i love the font i love i love the picture i think the poster is gorgeous i will not be seeing that i will also we've seen the happy time murders which i feel like that is up your alley too it kind of went

under the radar and i don't know what happened it's happy time one word yes once it pops up you'll be like i need to see this movie if you haven't seen it um of course i need to see it's melissa mccarthy is this a henson it's the henson's hey i know them no i think they got sued because it looked too much like henson's directed by someone named brian henson that's a little confusing brian henson no he is he's a chairman okay he might have gotten maybe someone else from it doesn't like it 2.2 that's a perfect movie for me oh and elizabeth banks joel mckale maya rudolph yeah the guy from the office the film was first announced in 2008 by the jim henson company the production company of the muffets creator jim henson and look at this

actually gotten more into watching the full episodes and usually for the last couple years it's not been i did see a couple of the dave chapelle skits because i didn't know when i started watching it no that week dave chapelle that balloon popping when they did it was so good I had to pause it and I said, Mott, you don't know how niche this reference is? This is so good. Like, Ego nailed it. I literally pulled up to Mott.

I was like, Mott, pause. And he goes, what? No, I mean, the concept's funny. I go, no, no, you have to know how niche this is. And I was like, the fact that they are following her as she slowly walks to each contestant like she does in the videos, I was like, this is insanity.

And like, the fact that they're editing it like them, which is really long pauses, we're not doing speed it through. I was like, this is so fucking funny. and i'm like i love that i have the same algorithm as who one of these writers at least one um i also put which is a little crazy because um i'm not like a huge fan of this man i life of chuck which is tom hiddleston i have no idea what it's about um operation fortune uh which is a guy is this even out yet i haven't even heard of some of these movies that you're saying hey i didn't

heard yourself yours i was just googling operation fortune oh my god it came out okay i gotta watch it um it is a guy richie movie with jason statham aubrey plaza josh harnett and like hugh grant wait what's the name of this again operation fortune i gotta add that to my list yeah sounds like a lot of people that i like and is it a heist movie yep still the main it's guy richie yeah um then i have the hustle which is a 2019 movie two female scam artists rebel wilson and anne hathaway have no idea never heard of oh i saw that okay i want to watch it yeah it's it's wild and that's what i'm in the mood for yeah um uh rebel wilson's really doing that uh physical comedy it is it is i forgot about that let me add that back to my list it was pretty good

i don't doubt that um i also have age of adeline i never watched this movie but people liked it and they watch it in a film class yeah and i know that part that like people talk about it all the time especially in like the filmmaking aspect of it and i was like oh i do want to watch it because i've also heard it evokes some of the similar things this movie about time which i love but i have a hard time watching that because it makes me sob um i have are you there god it's me margaret i just never saw it wanted to watch it yeah when they play the trailer what movie were we seeing and was it like the trailer i think i got to see this and i was like okay no they played it before everything and i said sign me up i'm there um how to blow up a pipeline i gotta be

real this has been on my list since it came out in 2022 and like some other movies i have yet to be in the mood to watch it like it's just it's heavy um uh zola i still haven't seen which is insanity and the fact that that is riley keogh i can't wrap my head around um what is this oh american animals it's about it's a it's a heist movie starring evan petersberry keoghan and some other random people oh i can get rid of this because this movie was bad the gentleman i hated that uh set it off is on here civil war boogie nights i've never seen watchmen oh i haven't never seen nights either there's a lot of stuff like from the 90s that i wasn't allowed to see yeah that i always wanted to see

you know i've never seen that i don't think i'm glad to see because it i don't know slumdog millionaire i feel like you should have been allowed to see me too i don't know i think maybe i think i used to get a confused with the boxing movie million dollar baby which that makes sense if i'm not allowed to watch powerpuff girls i don't think i'm allowed to watch real yeah real humans fighting american fiction i still haven't seen the craft i haven't seen well yeah the people of this podcast didn't vote for it so i know they did it was just neck and nick i want to see wonka because you're on your shallow man or you can't see it without oh you can't be a shallow man until you watch wonka you know that's true i can put this on my

um watched uh list now uh i did watch the lost city with channing datum and i think that's on my list too that i didn't i loved it list yeah it's there too mamma mia 2 red white it's between love and thunder and book club next chapter like it's so funny to scroll through to like my movies that are all collectively no way they have more than 30 percent of rotten tomatoes and then you have like the da vinci code brooklyn you have like movies that are like award-winning well-renowned or like call annie hall but is next to by the way zombie land which i still have never seen and i go i gotta see andy hall i mean not any any hall is the movie i was watching with that boy that i was telling you about that i was

in my like class and i had no interest in him and then he grabbed my face and kissed me that guy we were watching any hall before it was not a sexual movie but no it's nasty woody allen um and then it's god dang and keeping it yeah and then i've got like next like the theory of everything next to but i'm a cheerleader so um you know i think the theory of everything was good i think i would like most of these um and i still never seen the social network that's like such a me movie you should very much watch it now i know i know i know i know um so that's really what i'm and i have the original twister on here inside out too

a lot of my watch list right now is really to focus on building uh the only list i have on letterbox which is steal the money movies it says heist movies but there's girlies and glamour that is my description of it and as of now is just all the oceans movies 21 catch me if you can now you see me one and two kaleidoscope dumb money and national treasure one and two and as someone who loved the sequel i do want people to know that i low-key think national treasure two is better than the first one okay it's so good well i'll add that to my oh i have to have the jamie foxx one back in action there are some other things that i've watched but we're gonna off mic about them and one of them was with somebody that we loved and i do not want to
