hello everyone welcome to see you next tuesday hi melissa how is your tuesday going tuesday okay i mean i didn't go to sleep till like four ish um girly pop why'd you do that i just when when my period starts everything with my body just gets out of whack completely i want i have my allergies are acting up as are yours um because of all the rain and then plus on top of that before i get my period i get like period flu too yeah and so i've just been walking around congested but not like like not feeling sick sick just kind of like run down run down but not tired because i've been writing a lot but like I don't it's just it's just I just wasn't myself I understand I understand and the period flu is

the worst and I will say you are getting a lot better at remembering that that's what it is yeah I am because uh I was like I don't I don't feel sick but I'm congested and does my body temperature feel like I might be running a low-grade fever yes but like I I could not that I would but I could you know run around my house I'm gonna say run a mile but run around my house I don't think I've run a mile in my entire life you didn't have to in school no we did but okay I didn't I would walk it I even couldn't run it yeah here's my thing like I've had a problem with authority my whole life and anytime like specifically a PE teacher was like okay if you're in the mile I'd be like no and they're like well you have to like what are you

going to do pick my body up and throw me across the field for a mile like no I'm just not going to do it my body just doesn't cooperate like I can't I can't breathe one which you know should have been a clue way back then I've been saying your girl's got asthma to like my my legs just start hurting even at my most athletic self when I was doing so many things I still could never run a mile I just think that like runners are a different kind of person like you know you've got hunters you've got gatherers and you've got runners and I know to my core in my DNA I am not a physical runner an emotional runner yes physically I can run like uh like a sprint I'm really fast like I could in track like I could sprint but anything over 200 count me out

no there's just like some things are not for everybody and that's one of them and sometimes i end up everybody oh facts specifically i sometimes will end up on like runner adjacent tiktok because i well here's the here's how we get there because i love videos of like people doing what most people would consider pointless and useless shit so when someone's like i'm in connecticut and i thought it'd be fun to run to times square i'm like that is kind of funny like and I'll be like and they'll just be like this and they're not like giving like tips on running or whatever but like naturally they will just be like okay taking a break I'm having my little goo packet I was like I'm so sorry like the fact that you have to like do all of this stuff like

of course this makes sense that people are like oh it's like a high because there's no amount of things that I would do to like recuperate and to be able to sustain something that that's it's that painful and you're like oh my nipples are bleeding like my feet are bleeding I have to like literally have like flubber kind of food to eat because i need to like whatever all of that shit lights yeah and i'm like oh okay so you get a high from it because that there's no other way yeah and i just don't want to participate neither uh yeah so that's i've just been feeling like crap a little bit my internet went out completely on friday around 2 p.m i was recording um just between us and we were doing it remotely because it was raining

so they didn't come over here but then i couldn't finish recording and so then um i was just like talking them through on the phone but also phone the the service down as well so it was very spotty and so i'm just sitting there trying to talk them through shit they finally finished that one episode and then we're like we'll finish the rest later and then they had told me my electricity would be back on by 4 30 they as in ladwp but then in my neighborhood itself 13 000 people were without power and then like the surrounding areas were without power as well and um there i called again when it was closer to four and they were like uh we haven't even dispatched anyone and alison had told me that she would come pick me up because if y'all don't know my car practically

sits on the ground so low riding is an understatement like melissa's like it's like a box car it's like a like one of those cars that you rate like kids race downhill it's like it is you're it's a sports car so like it's on the ground and i was like no way am i driving and so allison was like i'll come pick you up because she drives an suv so she came and picked me up and then i stayed at her house that night electricity didn't come back on to the next morning she dropped me back off got home cleaned the kitchen did some work and then electricity just kept sporadically going off throughout the day it was still wait was saturday the day it was sunny no sunday was today was sunny yeah yeah so saturday it was still raining and so sporadically going off couldn't

review don't blame me still haven't done it yet i just yesterday i just couldn't because i just had so much no fair i'll do it today um but uh then at night time sometime around like seven ish i hadn't gone in my bathroom that's in my room because i usually use the other one because i haven't been i didn't need to i wasn't in my room i was in the living room going open the door there are flying ants everywhere so that one little one you saw during our patreon live stream was just i mean that was even that was in the kitchen that's not even no like when i say they were coming in through the window they were like coming in through like a tiny crack and like they're every like i have not gone back so first

of all i had had just had it sprayed we had every like quarter i have somebody come in spray for bugs so most of them were dead thank god but then there was still some coming in the toilet filled with them oh my god filled with them the floor the walls everywhere oh my gosh that must have traumatizing for you after your termite and you're one of your first apartments in la yeah so then i had to get more spray to spray the ones that were because they were just like pouring out oh my spray the ones that were still alive when i went in there my shoes just covered the bottom of the shoes just covered with dead black wings and it's i just closed the door and i was like i'll let it be and so i have not been because i had not been there the night before like i had my toothbrush

and stuff thank god were like packed from when i came from allison's and i just went in there because i needed to grab some stuff for my face since we're going to be on camera and i was like i'm not grabbing anything and it's just a nightmare even though i flushed the toilet after i went in before it's filled with with them again it's like a crime scene of flying ants yes oh my god i feel so bad for you yeah so it's been it's been over a few days yeah i just gotta say this like people want to like give like la like angelina's like shit for complaining about the weather and like one of my favorite twitter accounts i think it's just called i've shown you so many of their memes before the brand yeah it's americana brand me i'm trying to

i don't want to yeah it's americana at brand memes it's just at americana memes and they had one where it's like someone playing giant jenga and pulling a block from the bottom and the whole thing's toppling over on them and it's like a little bit of rain like the entire la infrastructure are like toppling like i just can't explain like i'm never going to compare it to like how awful the power grid was and everything with like texas in the winter like when they had their storm but think about like that light if there's like in like that it's a little bit warmer so we didn't have to worry about like actual freezing but it was cold and like there are some parts where like it was snowing and was freezing but thick i've never seen snowflakes that thick and i've lived

in pennsylvania they were juicy as fuck because it's so wet it's so so like like the water content like the humidity is like 80 has been the lowest that it's been yeah and i saw calamigos ranch in malibu where i've like gone and done my birthday there multiple times mott's and i like love to stay there it snowed and I was like what the fuck so thankfully the places where it did snow are less densely populated and so like there were power outages and stuff but it wasn't the millions and millions of people like it was in Texas but the only knock on wood we only had our power like flicker and I think it went out when we were like asleep one night but it was that was it and i can't if we had to deal with no power on top of everything else like i would

have cried like it would have been so much would have been like we're selling the house right now like that is so brutal because we we wouldn't have made it through the night without our heated blanket yeah legitimately like i was like y'all can come over here and the electricity may be going in and out but it's still warm yeah i'm blasting it when it's not yeah we are our tiny little space heater honestly like works really well when it's a small room it doesn't work as well and like i'm recording this in the living room and this is the only part of the house that is like more open concepty so it's too small for this room unless you're sitting right in front of it but when we put it in the bedroom or i put it in my office and i shut the door it gets warm like

it's nice like i can yeah then have the residual heat and turn it off but like the heated blanket i it took me so long to get one because i was like that sounds dangerous like it scared the shit out of me no it was dangerous 50 years that's what people were saying they're like okay there's a lot of things that were dangerous but are fine now i'm like okay that's like my friend was who was a doctor was like you shouldn't sleep with a space heater on because they catch on fire I was like, yeah, if they get knocked over 30 years ago when they didn't have the automatic off switch, but like they're not, there's not open coils like they used to be that would get your drapes and then catch on fire. It's a different heating mechanism. I'm too paranoid to sleep with it on, but I understand that that's a me problem.

But also like I had, it was one that was like a square one that can't even fall over. You know, it wasn't a long skinny one. It was legit a square that could not fall over. Yeah. I'm, I'm just, I've like had so many friends like text me and being like, like LA friends being like, Hey bud, how you holding up? Like, are you guys okay? And truly I just cannot stress enough how it's, I don't want to say it's not that bad

because like it is like it's bad for it's about 34 to 36 degrees in our house and like the warmest it's been in our home has been like 40 degrees like so especially the last couple days like it's been cold but like as someone who if she does any amount of physical exertion or she stands up quickly my heart rate is racing and suddenly i'm sweating like it's pretty easy for me like there was one like bots and i were driving because we bought um dining room chairs and we were picking them up from someone from Facebook marketplace. And just the, just the, like me getting up from the couch where I was sitting, grabbing my water bottle, grabbing my phone, like grabbing my glass, like doing all the things where I'm like, Oh, I forgot this. I'm gonna grab

this. I'm gonna grab this, doing all of that. And then getting in the car, it's about, I don't know, 43 degrees out. I'm sweating my ass off. He wants to put the heat on and I'm, I'm stripping off all of my clothes, my socks. I'm doing what I do where I take my leggings and I'm like flipping them over my thighs i was just dying and he was like oh my god i'm so cold and i was like well i'll try we're on the fucking freeway i have the windows rolled down i've stuck my head out like a dog and i'm just trying to cool down and he's like you have heated seats in your car um i don't think so oh i was gonna say he could heat his that's true he had his heat on and then i just turned mine off and I stuck my head out the window for a bit and um he was like I just can't wait

until it's warm again and I was like you take that back sir like I know this is brutal I know this sucks I know you're concerned about the well-being of all of my toes and my fingers but like I can't tell you how much happier I am when it's cold than when it's hot I will say like just walking outside and breathing in like that crisp after rain air feels so good it feels like vicks vapor rub like in the best way possible like it's just like a cleansing it gets like all the way to like my liver like my liver is just like oh spicy air like it's so good it's so nice but yeah i i i'm loving it granted again i'm ready for us to have a heat and ac combo and i'm also ready for the rain to be done um considering our uh basement slash garden level did in fact flood

so how deep did it get you know mott was like i think it's like because i was telling him he was like gonna go because there's only we got a shop vac but only one person can like do it like there's nothing I can do and so I was like we can switch off and he was like I'll do it it's fine and I was like giving him instructions of like okay like really serious when we're going to turn all the lights off we're going to shut the power off in here like when we can but for right now you need to make sure that like when you come down because he was going to do it later that night or he was doing early in the morning or later that night and I was going to bed and I was like open the door if you see water like if you see it shine with your phone flashlight don't

turn the lights on like trying to do everything all the steps so i'm like you don't get electrocuted and he was like well no that's only if it's like more than like two inches of water and i was like that's not how it works babe also it is more than two inches of water in certain even if it was one half there's yeah it can still get electrocuted yeah and so we actually were not able to turn the power off there because it is not on its own breaker switch it is attached to I don't remember what it was attached to but something that was like well I mean think of I'm gonna touch the bedroom so then we couldn't have heat so that was brutal but we got a shop vac and sucked up all of the water there is like a little bit of damage to the walls in the sense that like

the paint at first i was like oh shit there's water coming in through the like the walls and it's like looks like these like paint bubbles and i was like oh should we like stab them get the water out and i was like oh they're dry like they're not they're just kind of like where the water had moved up through so humidity got through yeah yeah it was a shit show but truthfully like not nearly as bad as it could have been because if anyone remembers it was also included in my last vlog um we realized that we had some moisture down there like a couple weeks ago and so we removed everything from there and put it in our garage and so it was like an empty room that was flooding and it was far more water than the first time around and so like we were able to salvage

things that first time and we wouldn't have been able to this time so it has like a lot of people like why haven't you gotten heat yet why haven't you gotten your electrical panel upgraded like your heat pump I'm like because that was I got top of our priority list but then we had the flood then we had like different things that had happened like we had the gas leak and then we had like the flooding um now and so we're gonna have to decide depending on what the weather's gonna look like if we're gonna install a sump pump or and that's a couple thousand dollars or if we can do the electrical panel and the um heat pump first before we do that because a lot of people don't know this some and it was because someone was saying this to my dms that it does

not rain in the summer in california like i mean in not really anywhere in california but like in la like we should be done by the end of march with the rainy season so i hope everybody else is doing okay i mean i know places in like michigan people were just without power for days and days and everyone's being affected by this storm absolutely wild that this is just our new normal apparently yeah it's not gonna get any better no that's matz's brother had said that he was like any time that's like it was like an it was during the summer he had said he was like you know it's crazy like this is going to be the coldest summer in la history and i was like why would you phrase it like that he's like it's just gonna get worse every year and I was like oh

my god that's so mean stop yeah but somebody was telling after I told them my ordeal they're asking me how I was doing I told them my ordeal and they're like well like this never happens here it won't I was like it will get worse because I was saying like even because you don't have a water cooler and I was like I couldn't get to my water because it's oh it's on electricity thing and then i couldn't even like pour any even though i have like 10 full things sitting outside i couldn't pour it over because it's too big and i was like i have to get one of the electric hand things to put it but it made me realize the things that i needed to get in case something happens like this again because i do have like a backup battery for my computer which lasts like 15 hours

so that's great and i have like little chargers for my um phone i've got like three of those and And so I have things, but I was like, like even my stove, even though it's gas, still has some electric components. So I still couldn't actually use it. So I was like this, I know now what I need to buy for like a survivalist kid. No, I, I literally like when we had like the last like weather, like all that shit, especially when we went to Colorado, I was like, okay, I'm making emergency bags. Like this is like, I gotta be on top of this.

And then the weather got better and I just like forgot and didn't do it. now i'm like okay no i'm getting back on this like i have an earthquake like kit that you buy but i think it might the stuff in there might be expired now no same so i was like i need to go through that i need to add more i have like a crank radio that also charges your phone um but uh yeah i need to get like it's like if the cell phone towers are down i need something else because I could barely even talk to somebody else across town. Just so you know, though, here's the thing. I still have my Jeep right now.

And if I didn't hear from you for, like, days on end, I would coordinate with other people who would have heard from you. And if they didn't hear from you, I would have just showed up. I know. I know. But I'm just saying. There's things I know I need to prepare. You know, I like to be prepared.

oh you do i actually had no idea that little fun fact about you like who would have thought who would have known then i was like maybe do i need like a smaller refrigerator keep like emergency food in because i don't want to open my big refrigerator so the food wouldn't spoil and so this is like just a few things yeah because you want your separate freezer and then if you're doing that why not get a little separate fridge yeah the one thing i'm thinking about now too is I want to get a safe and I want to get like a fireproof weatherproof safe so even if like our house our house isn't going to flood and Matz was like do we have flood insurance and I was like no they wouldn't insure our home like our house isn't going to flood like the like the bottom level

could in the basement slash garden level but our house wouldn't um but I was like if we had to like evacuate like where's your passport right now and he was like uh and I was like exactly like we need to like have these documents that we have like whether they're printed like on a hard drive we should have both and like do all of this in a fucking safe so i would know what to grab something where i'd be like you gotta get out of here yeah running from the law yeah we were what were we we were watching scandal and what episode was it was it oh it was spoiler for anyone hasn't seen a show that came out in like 2012 um it was when it was like a flashback of a huck with his wife where he like comes home and he's like pack your stuff we gotta go like you put the kids in

the car and she's like what what and he's like no no like she's like asking all these questions and i paused it and i turned him on so i go i'm gonna tell you right now if you came home and you said grab the necessities get in the car we gotta go i'm not asking a single fucking question i'm not wasting time and being like i'm not leaving until you tell me what's going on i'm like no bitch i am there like gone we're i will rush you along we can you can tell me the details in the car we got a road trip where the fuck we're going we got time you can tell me there like you tell me we have to get out of this house immediately and he's like i'm gonna grab a couple of emergency things i go drop those just get in the fucking car and i was like would you

do that with me he goes without a doubt i'm not asking a single fucking question and that always pisses me off in shows and people are like no until you tell me what's going on i'm like does this happen enough that you're just like this isn't an emergency the best one of those that i've seen was in um shrill and the guy that she's dating not to spoil but this was like in the first season this show came out like five years ago i don't know so it was like he's like we gotta go and he just grabs a bag behind the couch and it's like out the door no question to ask see that's like that's how it should be if you cannot trust your partner if they say we gotta fucking scram immediately why are you together right it's not going to be like because here's the thing if my

if if mott's did something if he's like running from the law i'm ride or die i'm there being like okay what's the alibi like all right like i'm not about to be spousal privilege without a doubt technically not married yet but you've got oh you've been living together that would be our first stop in our escape plan come to me we're getting fucking married like melissa i can't tell i don't know what's going on but we and you're like no questions asked let's do this by the power invested in me blah blah blah blah blah i don't pronounce your husband and wife and it's just like that's that's what you need to be like yeah i i just it's so that's moral of the story gotta make us gotta make an emergency kit gotta make us get a safe get a go bag yeah because who

We've been this is on our list. And it is so good because it's Ryan even Ryan I like to call him Rian Johnson

um mystery every episode is like her solving a new mystery and she can tell when people are lying but it's it's so we have that in common like i the first trailer i saw this month and i'm like oh this is we gotta watch it we watched we watched what did we watch first was it it was another um one that came out right at the same time but it was a short show it was a mini series i mean this one is 10 it'll be 10 episodes i didn't realize that they were dropping new episodes every week so i'm on episode eight now and i'm like i gotta wait oh i can't stand that maybe that's why we didn't start but i mean like if you started it now by the time you got to 10 it'd be done but it is so good so good i'm so good every episode is different

it's kind of like they make they like get you trapped into what the um how they tell the story each time and then they'll they'll change one thing you're like you got me you got me sometimes the tone's different oh i like that they're also like some episodes are kind of like genre-y where they pick a genre of film cinema television and kind of play off of that it's so good okay wait i really like that yeah like you're y'all are gonna love this y'all are gonna love it so much i'm excited because i mean he's if i could just live stream mott's watching scandal for the first time like it's so fucking funny because like he's just never prepared for it and like he falls for like

all of the shonda things were like i hate jake and then like when like olivia and jake are like finally hooking up another time he was like oh my god go jake and i was like i thought you didn't like jake and he was like well and i was like well yeah because you weren't supposed to but he like he is like he right now his whole thing is like he can't fucking stand fits and he goes just throw the fucker under the bus like why are all these people like bending earth and fucking water for this subpar man like stop because he's just the figurehead yeah i was i was telling him like one of my favorite things that like in the re-watching of it that i love that she does is like she they talk about like oh you're a white like you're the wife of the politician like your job is him like

he's like you have to do everything and essentially being like you have to be his mom you have to do all of these things for him but it's skirt he's doing donuts yeah that is not the time to be um that uh they basically make it so at first watch or like at first glance it's that these women are nothing more than wives but every female politician on the show has a useless goddamn fucking husband because she's running the show and then every male politician is completely useless and his wife is running the fucking show and i was like oh god i like i love that and that's why like melly melly is my absolute favorite between huck and melly take a bullet for both of them my favorite melly quote ism is like it's when people are thinking like she's

why is she here and then she goes to her and olivia are talking and she's basically like you're supposed to be fucking him and holding down the country and i'm supposed to be keeping things steady and making it look like why aren't you doing it like why aren't you doing your job i when we first watched that team mox was just like oh my god he's like is she implying a go she's not implying she's telling her like girl yeah get that dick spread the legs do your job where it's like i don't know why you're acting like you're not in love with him like this is your this is our man yeah she's just like okay this is a song stop with the surprise stop feeling this like i know what's going on do you think i'm dumb now go have sex with him

so he can do he can run the goddamn fucking country he was just like oh and then like the next morning and then she was like what's like why are you in a bad mood like fits and he was like what and she goes you saw olivia like come on did you not get this out yeah i'm like she's i caught like i'm just fucking obsessed with her like i love her so much and she never won an emmy for it yeah isn't that insane yeah it's so bad like that's just the biggest oversight and i was appalled people get weird about typical drama shows winning emmys like it's well yeah it it's like if it's not an hbo show it's not gonna get nominated did um what's that one that i nope i'm not gonna say anything negative

the one where hbo or this is us that's all this is us i was about to say did they win emmys yeah they did it's just hbo this is us showtime sometimes why would they do that why would they give them those that's that is very weird i can't speak upon it because i didn't watch the show neither did i it's not a show that i would like to watch it's not a show that i want to watch so i'm not i'm not into i have enough crying with gray's anatomy speaking of gray's anatomy and shauna land this episode was supposed to be that came out this week and we've been waiting on it because they had their winter finale and then just came back supposed to be meredith's last episode the star of the show gotta be one of the worst

exits i have ever seen on this show i thought i was gonna sit there and cry and sob not one tear i'm like what the fuck why is she not having conversations with two the two other main people that have been here from the beginning that is like her mentor and the other one was basically her father she didn't have conversations with her sisters it was she wasn't even in most of the episode i was like what the hell is this and then i talked to avia my friend and we talk about it and she was like what did you think i said i hate it and she said good i'm not alone and then i went on red and everybody was pissed fucking one of the characters that nobody really knows why the actor was gone but he just kind of left a couple of years ago mid-season one of the ones that had

been there on there from the beginning and he got a full episode where they didn't even show his face because they had to say goodbye to him somehow but we didn't see it so it was all told in like voiceover and some stand-in actor the whole episode was like that weird and got a full goodbye but he got a full fucking goodbye yeah numerous other tons of people have died on this show they've all got full goodbyes but you don't give meredith bray a fucking full goodbye angry angry do you think she's pissed that she's leaving do you think the writers are upset no i don't because she's still on she's an executive producer on the show and she also will still be doing the voiceovers for the episodes so i'm like are y'all waiting until the

the show itself is just done to do like the final final goodbye so she's instead of like a soft launch it's like a soft goodbye but we already had the soft goodbye last the last episode felt more like a goodbye even though it wasn't a full goodbye it still felt like more of a goodbye than this one weird yeah maybe she wrote it or maybe she like no she didn't the show wrote her shawn grunner wrote it and she's leaving the show after this season anyway so it was disjointed oh that's awful and i know people like i mean i said because i'm a shondaland stan sometimes i will end up on like shonda other shows i don't watch tiktok and i remember people are like oh my god this whatever day of the week that they come out they can't believe that they

bubble like it was i knew it was coming and i was like i'm not watching it but i hope all of you you know are ready it wasn't satisfying that's i like sat literally sat down on sunday after i hadn't had electricity for a minute and i was like okay i can finally watch it and i was literally like what the hell is this big disappointment that sucks well i'm sorry i can't figure out the show that mots and i watched that was also really good i don't remember the name of it i can't fucking think what was it about it was about this british guy who used to be who like it's like the government um and he's like a diplomat i don't know but some he's high up in the british jobs parliament yeah something like that i don't remember and his wife is like

ex-CIA or something like that and um it was his daughter got kidnapped and like the whole premise of it taken no but the whole premise of it was basically like it was him and his like former Russian like intel who like they were like and everybody was like oh my god like it's an affair like it's something sexy like that and it wasn't it was just like he basically in order to get his kid back had to you know utilize the sketch like the the people who were like his intel from his time when he was like working in more of like a CIA kind of job and it was like a I don't know it doesn't sound that interesting and even when Maz was like telling me that I was like okay but it was just like really well acted and the wife oh maybe that's how i'll fucking find it the wife

was um i was like she's like really good i really like her she reminded me um a little bit of the sister in fleabag a little bit in looks wise but just kind of in like acting style wise where i'm just like wow like i really really like this performance and i like look her up and i see her last name and i go no no well there's a reason why she's so talented her last name chaplain i don't know if you're gonna say scar scar no chaplain like charlie yes i'm like oh this shit is in your goddamn fucking blood it's called treason there you go she was in game of thrones too but you didn't watch them she was an she's in the new avatar apparently maybe the original one i've never watched any of them but yeah trees on netflix that one was good um yes mi6

yeah an mi6 deputy's bright future takes a sharp turn after a reunion with a russian spy forces him to question his entire life in which side he truly wants to be on with the looming conflict it's charlie cox oh that's why we started fucking watching it because after she hulk i was like who is this charming man why is he not in more rom-coms and months goes don't know why he's not more rom-coms but he's in this new fucking show let's watch it and we tried to watch um daredevil it's bloody yeah it stressed me out yeah it's i couldn't i couldn't but i'm looking forward to when they reboot it on disney plus because it won't be as yeah as someone whose heart rate spikes um when i stand up um or when i'm startled uh my body does not know the difference

between oh i'm having like my heart racing because i'm watching content versus like oh i stood up too fast so then my heart will just be pounding and i'm sweating and miserable and i'm like okay this is not worth it it'll be fun when it's rebooted though yeah it'll be a different tone different style i can't wait and he's great so anything else or shall we wrap up this tuesday i think this is it so well i hope you all enjoyed and we will see y'all next tuesday
