Starting point is 00:00:26 Visit Ancestry.ca for details. Terms apply. hello nine four eight you know i don't have enough a strong enough grasp on numbers for you to be doing this beating there you go i was like that's not how we count down depends on how we count down depends on the context of the counting down if you are on um spotify you can see that these two girls we did not coordinate did not coordinate but no but it is a both understand the celebration at hand which is happy birthday beyonce happy birthday beyonce i'm surprised we haven't got a text yet asking us to buy something i'm refreshing my phone waiting for the text asking to buy something my credit card is in my hand like i'm ready did you
Starting point is 00:01:21 see the parkwood posted this morning that's what i woke up to and i was like this feels extra special something are we getting a vinyl press are we getting what are we getting because like her as we know four is her favorite number today is the fourth and this is her 44th birthday so something i'm eagerly awaiting whatever it is i'll take it the crumbs i'm lapping them up like i'll take whatever oh well welcome to cnex tuesday where we read the results from last week's episode of what am I wrong and last week's episode was episode 157 and first up Megan Warren's Benson Boone who have an op so ominous 8% said I was wrong 92% said I was not wrong what the 8% who said I was wrong I want to know why we'll see if any of you said why you thought I was wrong but
Starting point is 00:02:25 Like, I would be like, what is your reasoning for me being wrong that he doesn't have an aunt? They're like, I love his little sequined suits and that's where he should stay. Like, I prefer him backflipping. Benson Boone backflipping is greater than Benson Boone covering Adele. Like that, I would say I would talk to your health care provider because I do think something is wrong with your with your with your ears and your taste buds. More so eyes.
Starting point is 00:02:52 True. but and if you're saying that i actually prefer him when he's only exclusively pumping out crumble cookies that's a taste but have you seen what those like looked like yeah everybody's like benson benson boone ice creamed he like moonbeam i he moonbeamed ice creamed all over my cookie it literally looked like jizz all over the cookie yeah i was like yikes one of matz's friends um his fiancee she's a franchise owner one of the things she has is a she's got a crumble cookie the way that i cannot wait to meet her and ask her so many questions about if she saw the cookie in person and like what the how they how they performed in the store
Starting point is 00:03:32 like did benson boone's creamed cookie did that go over a lot better in places like utah like where they were like mormon culture what i don't understand about crumble cookie is the cookie itself it seems like no one enjoys these cookies yeah i've i've actually questioned that same thing and the only like they have so much social media presence because they're disgusting so what i don't understand i truly don't understand it feels like a very expensive bit like yeah for the plot like they keep it open because people are buying them every week going yeah these ones suck too and i'm just like and they do it every fucking week and i'm like okay so do people like actually no i do know that some people love them because when i was researching
Starting point is 00:04:28 something about crumble because i think i said something about like crumble cookies feel mormon to me and people were like they are mormon i was like crazy didn't even know that and this was like years ago um and uh i remember like i ended up on the reddit and people were like everyone like helped me how do i ration my crumble cookie to last for this many days like and it was like literally like i need people to do like math physics and science to figure out how i can make this like last the most because like it's the only joy in my day and i was like that's really wild have you had like a break and bake cookie from the grocery store again i say this is never having taste of crumble cookie but like visually you eat with your eyes first and as of now my eyes are not
Starting point is 00:05:06 hungry but also like they're undercooked so i feel like if you just divide it by four and then put each part in the freezer and then you pop it in like a ready-baked cookie then i think you'd be fine i also think that it's probably like um that science experiment they did with fat like certain fast foods and like and foods with lots of preservatives i don't know that they ever go bad I think you could see one four years later and I think it would look probably the same it's not my kind of cookie yeah
Starting point is 00:05:38 I got some delicious cookies from Beverly Hills Cookies and they have a wide selection of gluten free I'm interested they're really good they're big and thick and fully cooked it's too big
Starting point is 00:06:00 they have a dubai ego that cookie yes big ego they have a dubai one that is i we walked by the fucking mall something i'm also like what is that i was like no no no and i was like melissa loves a little dubai thing what is that so good i was like maybe this is the area where she was but he was like wait what do you mean i was like he's like so this is like it's you you put the strawberries in a cup you have pistachio cream and then you know i don't want that no no and then i said no that's where it started and then it has stumbled into you can now you can now do buy chocolate anything it's an adjective you can do buy chocolate whatever she doesn't want that iteration she wants the other iterations of
Starting point is 00:06:47 this other existing item has been dubai'd has been dubai chocolate it yeah and it was stuffed like it was a big cookie and then it was stuffed with the pistachio cream the pistachio but the the pistachio was also on top like bits of that and then the chocolate was in there and the phyllo like it was i wonder if we're gonna have like a resurgence not a resurgence that's that's generous because no one's ever liked it but me but i wonder if this is going to like finally give mars a pan the respect it deserves once we're now in the nut paste world i love nut paste you heard it here first everyone this is a podcast for fans of nut paste anyways like i was saying i don't feel like that's i don't feel like that's a big announcement
Starting point is 00:07:33 everybody here knows i love nuts it's true that's the only nut i really like is a paste version and then they have at the at the same place they have a cookie called surprise no and it's just nuts it's it's like a chocolate chip cookie but there's that's not a surprise but there's four different nuts in it oh i thought it was exploding or it's like there's pop i mean there's there's they're stuffed in there yeah it's a explosion of flavor and i feel like because it's like surprise nut yeah you don't have my consent for that you gotta give him a warning for about to nut in my mouth my god you want it that's true that's true get your tickets now for the dog stars
Starting point is 00:08:23 it's no surprise how fast civilization can disappear a therapist kill or be killed jacob elodi there are people out there they need our help josh shoot first and inquire afterwards margaret qualley okay tough guy and guy pierce arm up the dog stars directed by ridley scott in theaters friday get tickets now your playlist might get you through the workday but have you ever wondered how your ancestors spent theirs what work helped them build a life how did they adapt as the world around them changed With Ancestry, you can search select historical occupational records for free for a limited time and discover the stories behind the jobs in your family tree.
Starting point is 00:09:10 You've got questions. We've got ancestors. Search free until August 31st. Visit Ancestry.ca for details. Terms apply. Well, like we were saying, 8% thought I was wrong about Benson Moon. 92% said I wasn't. And...
Starting point is 00:09:30 i have no idea who this is i am okay with that it seems that he has like flown under the radar of a lot of people and that i would like i would have to assume you missed the grammys because that was when i was like who is this that's also when i learned about him what country is that person from that wrote in i don't know i would say america or canada i don't distinctly remember them like saying anything not american or like not north of like you know i mean they have a flag or anything in their bio i don't know i screenshotted you want to look them up i'll look them up no they don't have any flags then we have personally i've always enjoyed vincent moon and thought he had a good voice i didn't regularly listen to his music but when i heard it i could
Starting point is 00:10:20 tell he could at least sing the backflips are a lot but it's not worse than what most artists do to get attention i i would counter do you see the outfits he's wearing while he's doing the backflips and also like that poor person on the piano he's always just jumping up on there hate to be his insurance agent i'm still happily avoiding this man's music good to know he can sing good for him then i said we need more career politicians 14 said i was wrong a6 said i was not wrong someone said melissa convinced me great and someone else said man if 20 year old me saw old lady me agreeing with this she'd think i'd gone conservative but 20 year old me had no idea what a shit show these amateurs have made of our government and that is a skill and something you
Starting point is 00:11:11 need education and experience in to be effective give me smart professional career politicians all day glad that changing the minds um allegedly i had this hot take four years ago oh i love that yeah consistency uh so some i it was like y'all i had deja vu while listening to but am i wrong today because i'm going through the back catalog and i listened to my ex hookup is now my boss but am i wrong from 12 9 2021 and melissa had a very similar take i thought i was losing my mind and then they said melissa wasn't wrong four years ago when she isn't wrong now hell yeah i don't remember but thanks for keeping me honest and gavin newsom was through line through all of it still uh someone else said the need for learning and building up to a career in order to
Starting point is 00:12:06 do it well is something that i think we should apply to every management slash upper level job but yes career politicians specifically please come fix this mess and someone else said omfg yes melissa is not wrong nothing bothers me more than when people with no experience want to jump into the highest position possible like try a comptroller a council member position something in a small district to get your feet wet first there was a woman who's a comedian and a podcaster who was trying to run for mayor of new york ridiculous then we have writer number one who said people need to learn media literacy four percent said the writer is wrong what 96 said the writer is not wrong imagine being like i'm actually super against media literacy no i promise
Starting point is 00:13:01 you those people are media illiterate and they probably didn't listen to the podcast my god it's so full circle you're right oh no you've become the thing oh they probably didn't listen i'm watching the summer i turned pretty it makes me so mad but i love bad tv and messy shit liking a show purely for its lighting is weird though i have to say though i honestly like the lighting of the show makes me be like i might give it another try i keep seeing these stills and i go this is shot beautifully the cinematography is beautiful is it because everything is so dark now and you're like i need something that looks good well yeah they finally had a gaffer thank god they turned the lights on the way that we in the way that hollywood we we had a shortage on gaffers
Starting point is 00:13:46 and i was like these turn on the lights these shows are so goddamn motherfucking dark so dark and not you know my big ones the sound oh the dunkerks of the world i can't what do you mean i'm like turn it up no now turn it down i i can't see a movie in a movie theater if i need to have the control that's literally somebody's job uh-huh uh-huh but war movies they go no make it really quiet then make it really loud and i go wow revolutionary actually stupid you can be quiet and loud doesn't have to be two complete opposite ends of the spectrum this is why i personally don't engage in media that's geared towards teens yeah teens nowadays don't understand how to separate themselves from the characters that they're
Starting point is 00:14:36 watching and that also sometimes characters you like are just shitty and that's okay as long as you know why you like them that's how i feel about shit so much where i'm like i even feel about reality tv with like the fucking huda fans and i was like you can't deny this happened you can still decide to like her and be like i'm actually like i don't like when other people do this but i'm i have a different set of standards for her and i like her regardless of her doing that not like well she didn't do that or she had a i'm like no no you can like someone who is like objectively doing bad things that you don't stand for but like to then just be like no actually it's totally different when she does it i'm like no that's actually just not like she did it yes um
Starting point is 00:15:17 but also like in fiction if everybody is behaving great then you don't have drama therefore you don't have a show so and that's why i would call the great british bake-off i understand wanting like no conflict or low stakes or like you don't want it you don't want stressful content that's totally fine i would watch most episodes of disney channel not lizzie mcguire or that's a raven because like that they can get very stressful but like i don't know even stevens whatever like what other even then they your main characters still behave poorly sometimes the nicest shows like parks and rec they all behave poorly but yeah like you still have to like they they have that's how you have a layered tv show you have to create some conflict so that you have story yeah otherwise it's just
Starting point is 00:16:12 like like the tiktoks of like the lives of being like watch me sleep nothing's going on nothing's changing it's just the same consistent thing like you in order to tell a story things actually like have to happen like there has to be plot points also i love that's why like gone girl is like so good because like they're both insanely like not and they're making like bad decisions but you're like why am i kind of rooting for this person to like do this and i think you go back and forth between the two yeah that sounds good they're both terrible but like but but i like this terrible one more yes i love that movie it's so so so good and like even i think about that with um sometimes i have a hard time with reality tv when like everybody's so unlikable that i don't have
Starting point is 00:17:00 someone that i can like root for and that's why like i like used to talk about how below deck was something that mods i were able to get into like very quickly because i think you can get into like real housewives and all that stuff if you start and you like commit to like watching it because like it takes a while for these people who are on paper supposed to be not necessarily likable or relatable for you to like like them in spite of those things but for below deck the people on the who are the members who like work on who are the crew on the show i mean on the boat not the not the show you're just like okay they are kind of driving you crazy but then you meet the fucking guests who book these yachts and you go actually i hate those motherfuckers so now i am
Starting point is 00:17:43 rooting for all of you you have like a consistent villain in that sense and you need it i don't know if i voted wrong because it skipped forward but i generally think that we need to stop letting people without critical thinking skills be active online not understanding the difference between life and fiction is wild drew alfalo talked about how she has been receiving death threats hate for weeks because of how her and her sister talk about her opinion talk about their opinions of the show on their podcast please people get hobbies and stop putting all of your energy towards trivial things i don't know her opinions on the show which i don't even know if there are i mean there's no opinions on the show that you're like death threats go for it but like the idea that someone's opinions
Starting point is 00:18:21 on like a fictional show are like wrecking your life to me that doesn't necessarily when people are like oh it says a lot about your character it does for like real I think more so like real people and like different stakes but like isn't she just picking between two different boys that she wants to date
Starting point is 00:18:37 I feel like it's easy for me because I look at them and I go well this one's taller they look the same to me I don't know what you see one of them is very little and he's he's got like a rat but you said they went to the uh you went when you were at rip bodice they were like he's not yeah i think it's just he has short energy maybe they both look
Starting point is 00:19:02 ready to me but i just gonna say it's there's there's a rat boy theme through here which i would actively pick neither of them but if like gun to my head i'm picking i'm picking the the mouse over the rat i guess because we talked about it then my algorithm started feeding me content about this show because i've never watched it and there would be no other reason why it started showing but i did come across black people talking about this and everybody was like this is disgusting because they literally grew up together and like in black households somebody that you grew up next to that's your cousin and so they grew up together like yeah they all grew up together ew yeah ew ew yeah that's my cousin i can like name people off the top of my head that
Starting point is 00:19:57 technically sure if you want to get technical are not blood related to me but like we're cousins yes those yuck yuck yuck yuck yuck also turns out the one that i think is shorter is actually taller says imdb but i think he's lying he's a real also you know it doesn't help he's a really small head he has like an absolutely tiny head the tiniest head i've seen in my whole whole whole life which he's a republican so he doesn't need much room up there no he's lying about his height because standing next to each other he's a full two inches shorter than the other guy who imdb says is an inch shorter than him everybody's lying get this and the girl who plays belly is like quite literally so beautiful and i'm like there wasn't another could you not
Starting point is 00:20:48 go on 23 and find an estranged brother and if you want that house fuck their dad like do something else gross because that man if they grew up together then that man would have known well she clearly doesn't have a problem with it well maybe the dad has morals yeah maybe i don't know i haven't again never watched we know nothing about this show except for the small tidbits we've seen online of people discussing it okay oh my god i have been wanting to rant about this fucking show sure i'm probably way too old to watch but enjoyed the first season because it made me feel nostalgic and 15 again but what the fuck is this show and its fan base first of all literally everyone in the show sucks the main girly more than anyone who fucks two
Starting point is 00:21:33 brothers then plans to marry one while still being in love with the other one also like they have grown up together like siblings do if you ask me that's pretty much incest vibes then one summer she quote-unquote turns pretty wait that's why it's called that that's why i said the last episode i never made the connection that that was like not like an inside thought that she had and like an outward thought that these boys who were his brothers who said actually you're hot ready to fuck you sis i always had that i knew that that's what i don't know it didn't click for me yeah i've never again never seen an episode but it's like yeah this summer i turned pretty now i'm fuckable but it says then and now suddenly both the men are like fuck yeah this girl is
Starting point is 00:22:16 basically my sister is tits now that's sick let me fuck literally no one in the show is normal out of the main characters even conrad who everyone seems to love i don't understand he's shitty as fuck like if you know you're in love with your brother's wife don't say okay to being the best man get away from her sorry i may be a bit drunk and also have very strong feelings at this show for people 16 years old and i'm 27 so i'm fully aware i do need to get over it i do think that that's why a lot of people like i don't think that person's alone in this like that seems like the general consensus of people who watch the show being like why am i fucking watching the show i have so many strong feelings and like all of these characters are pissing me
Starting point is 00:22:52 and sometimes like that's kind of what we need as a as a country unity on something now i am going to give a little bit of grace because we did have a lot of people who said they voted wrong in this one or like that it glitched so but i will keep my eye on those of you 92 said betty who is wrong 8 said betty who is not wrong who betty who we could see boop you know that oh i love it i'll send it to you later some man this person overheard it's like my favorite like way some like a sound has gone viral it's like people like what's the original no the original is someone in time square who's like i literally overheard someone saying that and it's so funny and i can't stop thinking about it and so she's quoting a random man she heard in time square
Starting point is 00:23:38 going like we could go see bull which is like the betty boot musical i was like that's it's a loop in my head Your playlist might get you through the workday, but have you ever wondered how your ancestors spent theirs? Starting point is 00:24:12 Search free until August 31st. Visit Ancestry.ca for details. Terms apply. this is bananas especially considering renee rap is essentially lesbian jesus that is in fact hayley kiyoko so are we dethroning hayley kiyoko for renee rap i don't think renee rap would be interested in that who is this woman and why does she keep getting booked for podcasts hopefully more people catch on to her and exile her to the fringes of joe rogan scratch that she shouldn't she shouldn't have that publicity let's hope she fades away into
Starting point is 00:24:46 obscurity she also is already like quite niche and yeah she did i mentioned that she did say her apology which is you could read it i don't someone said i don't buy this apology and i was like yeah me neither please stop making betty's look bad hey i'll say megan markle and i have had to deal with megan mccain so anybody you can overcome also um megan kelly you know me i i i do often forget they're not the same person are they not both on the view no megan kelly was never on the view oh they're both blonde yeah but so are most of the republican and talking heads and to me they're all just talking heads she's so wrong but i love that eminem have their own little army of lesbians to defend and be defended by coming from a proud
Starting point is 00:25:48 member i'm ready to square up for you i we were just pitched to listening i thought i was like hey they know our audience and i um used your quote for oh perfect i quoted you for uh us to get this app so we'll see so we'll see if we get the brand deal because they must know hey i think these i think these two straight women have an army of lesbians that they feel very strongly about protecting and we're here to help you out yeah uh as a black gay i've never heard of this woman before but i hate this type of person it's almost like because they made a change they have to project that onto someone else in order to feel valid i'm all for discovering your sexuality even as me personally i've always identified as a lesbian at least since my gay girl journey started
Starting point is 00:26:33 but i know to my core i really just want to love and be loved by somebody who sees me fully regardless of gender but that's an identity i'm oh but that's an identity i'm putting on myself not projecting onto anyone else because i don't like the box i put myself in renee rap wasn't wrong when she said that some gays really just are annoying i had no clue she was australian but she better leave renee rap alone i think she has forgotten who's australian i've never the accent is like gone she is so wrong betty who is absolutely unhinged like bro you are bisexual don't act like all lesbians would marry a man she's somehow being biphobic and less phobic at the same time also noting
Starting point is 00:27:11 oh bisexuals can be slash call themselves the d slur well not i mean slur coming from a straight woman saying it i i do think in general you know i think it i'm not gonna like dispute that but i do think if like there are lesbians who are like not okay with it then that's also okay you know i mean not for me to discuss well that's what i'm saying that like i don't want to get on here and be like oh this one person said this so therefore this like i've seen the other way so like i'll say both i've seen that lesbians say that they're not okay with this this person is saying totally okay for bisexual people to say this i'm a straight woman i have no idea presenting both of those information not gonna say which one's right or wrong because not my circus not my don't say
Starting point is 00:27:57 circus not my not my community not my world not my place and that's it and then my wrong of the week was elena austin pinko 97 said that she was wrong three percent said she was not wrong someone said yikes the hairline is going yeah she needs to loosen that ponytail taylor handled the situation with grace and poise unlike her sore loser opponent many news outlets use the photo of elena's face and taylor's back making it seem the confrontation was more aggressive from both sides instead of showing taylor's face if they did use taylor's face in elena's back then it would set the tone of how cool and composed taylor was and what a baby elena has been many other photos highlight elena's
Starting point is 00:28:50 profile and face while obscuring taylor's face interesting choices yeah they keep saying that it was like a heated fight between the two of them no it wasn't like an altercation which like to me an altercation also implies like physical like contact like in like a it's not just like a conflict yeah but taylor still taylor and katarina are still dominating they won their match yesterday hopefully when y'all are hearing this on tuesday they became or if they're they're currently the reigning champions but they continued their reign um on friday for being the doubles champions someone said honestly she sounds insufferable off the court in general as well someone else says so wrong so racist so completely unhinged getting tied down in these little
Starting point is 00:29:51 nitpicky traditions as a bull she's using it as an excuse to lash out taylor's response was spot on learn to lose better someone else said we love when sword losers embarrass themselves publicly another person said and this is coming from a lifetime tennis player do i usually say oops yeah but it's literally just not a rule she was also mad about how taylor warmed up which isn't normal but it's how she has done it her entire career and also isn't against the rules sucks to lose but it's part of life also agree that certain people especially eastern europeans it seems lately you mean throughout history tend to get more mad at losing to specific black people and it's upsetting this girl is always a bad sport though someone else said i hoped you guys would
Starting point is 00:30:46 cover this the net court didn't even result in the winning point an apology for this is nice to have not a must have also her talking about class is hilarious because she's always crashing out and throwing tantrums tantrums like this i used to make excuses for her slash ignore the crash outs but taylor ain't the one or the two also the woman who was making excuses for her it's the same one who was shady to coco at the french open so she's on the shit list too yeah all right that's it oh well that is it for uh episode 157 damn how the time has flown how the time has gone by well we hope you all enjoyed don't forget to vote for uh the next episode right in you can hear what hear us read your words your your poetry on the podcast you can feel the words coming out of our
