Starting point is 00:00:00 I saw my friend on the other side of the street. I was heading to school with the kids. I let go of mom's hand to wave. I had already forgotten their lunches. I ran over to hug her. She came out of nowhere. And then it stopped. Sometimes the moments that never happen matter most.

I'm feeling really good, actually.
Starting point is 00:00:58 Oh, my God. Love that. Not that I want to dispute that you shouldn't just always feel good. Why do you feel so good? No clue. Absolutely no clue. Everything's just fine. Nothing exciting, happy.
Starting point is 00:01:11 It's just fine. Yeah. Minus the bug bites. They're not really itching anymore, though. And once I got them under control with the tea tree oil and aloe, they're not and taking allergy medicine they're not really attending anymore so i love that for you um if anyone is in fact watching this version on um patreon and you're like megan's lips or spotify or yeah i didn't mean patreon because it's not there well no i put the link up so it
Starting point is 00:01:42 is there oh okay if you are looking at me and going did she what something's going on with those lips yeah something is not entirely sure what it is some sort of allergic reaction so i think i'm talking fine i think yeah you sound fine yeah i think like the longer i talk like by the end of the day yesterday i was not talking as well so maybe we'll see at the end of our recording day but if you just see like hey that looks a little it looks blistered yes it is blister right here do you put lipstick on nope nothing is on my lips not no color nothing that red just the natural color right now yeah so i don't know i think i guess it's like i had a sympathy allergic reaction because of your bug bites yeah they look like hickeys all over my
Starting point is 00:02:30 body yeah and now i got you got hickeys and i got blisters on the lips you just got the uh-huh so yeah um but this is see you next tuesday where we we promised you last week that we would see you next tuesday and that's what we're doing and what we do on this episode is we read the results from last week's episode of but am i wrong you'd be so proud of me i had this all prepared on monday night good job all right i'm up first for episode 160 melissa wants all football players to wear guardian caps. 3% said I was wrong. 97% said I was not wrong. Someone said I want to work with NFLPA one day to make this a mandate. Hopefully you start working there next week. Another person said the fact that it's taken this many years of injuries for someone to create
Starting point is 00:03:20 this is wild, but also for it to be under $100 and somehow not all athletes have them is crazy. They spend more than that on a pair of shoes and they can't do it to protect their player's skulls. Wouldn't more protection equal longer player retention? I don't know if they're thinking about retention because there's also limbs involved with football, so I don't think they care too much about that. unless you're somebody old like tom brady or something where the quarterback isn't getting wouldn't really be that much of a contender for so many brain injuries but i don't think they're thinking about retention but i do think they're thinking about just brain injuries as a whole yeah someone else said i'm a high school athletic trainer guardian caps are discouraged
Starting point is 00:04:11 for kids the limited research is showing they don't prevent concussions in that age range a lot of school districts are banning them because of concern that they void the helmet warranty in the end helmets don't prevent concussions since it doesn't stop the brain from bouncing off the school i i would push back on that because the reason there's not a lot of research for children there's limited research because they're not putting money into researching children yeah the money is going into is being mostly funded by the nfl so that's where the research is done well and also like when we talk about like anything to prevent cte even if it it's not going to make it work like this isn't making it worse like it is just adding and if it doesn't
Starting point is 00:05:02 protect that much it doesn't make it worse but also like you can't get diagnosed with ct until you are dead but then also like the helmet warranty so like if they get another helmet everybody makes it so that they're all using it then the warranty doesn't matter anymore because then they're gonna have to change what the warranty is and i just think it's so crazy if if your helmet breaks and you are like you're you're a young football player you're what middle school elementary school which is crazy elementary middle um and you it breaks i'm concerned about your head i'm not concerned about the warranty on on the helmet yep that just sounds like like yeah just it's really about the bottom line someone else said there's also mips liners
Starting point is 00:05:54 that we use in moto helmets that help with multiple direction impacts another person said as a society we need to get to a point where looking cool doesn't outweigh safety and making sure your brain doesn't turn into mush apparently there was like when um f1 racers they started putting the roll bars on the car apparently initially everyone's oh my god so like that's so stupid like that looks so bad and they just like kept with it and now like nobody talks about it because it's just standard yeah i mean they said the same thing about seat belts said the same things about masks anything that's safety related they say they said the same things when they went from the leather ones to the hard ones the other ones objectively look stupid yeah

Megan thinks it's crazy to admit to crimes in a published novel. 3% said I was wrong. 97% said I was not wrong. When Megan started talking about this, I was amped.
Starting point is 00:08:20 It is so wild to do this. I'm okay with you saying that in a private DM to us. I would make sure that you don't say you were amped about this to, like, you know, people in public. Or comment on something. I think amped as far as, like, I wanted somebody to talk about it. Oh, oh, oh, oh. Yeah. For sure.
Starting point is 00:08:42 Because I'm not saying this is someone's real life. This isn't, like, you know, fiction. No, no, you're right. Amped for you. I'm so glad you're talking about this. okay for sure for sure for sure you're right you're right you're right you're right so sorry did not mean to speak ill of you that was a me problem as most of them are okay the fact that she would even want to relive this and put it in print shows how detached she is and that's
Starting point is 00:09:04 almost scarier yeah this woman is she does everything for the plot she's like oh i gotta do this because it's gonna make a great story for my next memoir she scares me ryan murphy directed eat pray love i think we talked about that when i watched eat pray love years ago wow more evidence that supports he knows how to pick out unhinged women yeah that's actually the most evidence like that to me i'm like this this now suddenly makes so much more sense this this is yeah it's all clicking all the pieces are clicking to fully admit something after a statute is up should be a higher type of charge or something it's one thing to conspire a crime before it happens but to obsess over it like this for years is so so so insane i always knew eat pray love
Starting point is 00:09:54 felt weird to me and now i know why that's like a lot of people's consensus i've seen online too of being like oh this is why i felt like eat pray love was weird it wasn't just like oh another lovely julia roberts movie the way my jaw was on the floor throughout this whole thing is actually insane and not even in a fun way then we have writer number one are they wrong for not wanting to date her mom's co-worker oh that sounds so ridiculous six percent said the writer is wrong 94 said the writer is not wrong someone said that's a scary age gap m and m are right it should be weird for all parties run someone else said i voted wrong do not date that man another person said somehow while listening to this call i forgot about the age gap and thought all the actions very
Starting point is 00:10:44 much seemed relationship like please stop going up to the job and only interact with him and if you absolutely have to please stop going up to the job only interact with him when and if you absolutely have to this is this definitely feels like the beginning to a very weird icky grooming situation it's good that you're aware and i'm so sorry your mom is not on your side but stake your ground because if you feel icky about it there is something icky about it someone else said she needs to run so far away from this man another person said so weird and gross another person said her mom is hella weird for pushing this i'm always sensitive to family who keep pushing against your wishes slash boundaries for a quote-unquote joke there's nothing funny about it
Starting point is 00:11:37 another person said the writer's mom is a freak for this i could not believe what i was hearing and that's it okay then we have writer number two are they wrong for considering a friendship with their ex 67% of the writer is wrong 33% so the writer is not wrong i think the writer is wrong because the breakup is still so fresh and even if there's no romantic interest on either side it still kind of seems like there is because of the timing in history but like megan and melissa said it doesn't seem like the writer and jenna are very good friends anymore so it's kind of like whatever it just seems weird to me to risk a good friendship just to be friends with some man who also happens to be your ex it's a great way to put it writer is wrong because regardless if she's
Starting point is 00:12:19 still friends with the quote-unquote ex-girlfriend she's still trying to be friends with someone who respected her so little he started dating her friend and then cut ties with her and for him to only reach out because of problems in his relationship is wild but unsurprising if she was supposed to be friends with his ex it would have happened in a different way this man is extremely suspect to me tbh even if he doesn't have ulterior motives dot dot dot still suspect still suspect someone else said but i also really want to know the like backstory on the new girlfriend and where that friendship lies yeah me too it seems like if the writer were to befriend the x again the x would just be something for the writer to fix i promise you don't need another
Starting point is 00:12:57 thing to fix use that time to do fun shit instead that's it then we have my wrong of the week michael scaletta teats 96 said he was wrong 4 said he was not wrong someone said this is hilarious like a little boy playing dress up and making his mom drive around behind the fire truck and police officer so he can play pretend fortunately he was showing up before the actual police were in some cases someone else says scared to think of what crimes he may have gotten away with because it took even the cops some time to recognize that he wasn't one of them also i need to know if he had a firefighter's uniform somewhere or if he thought just the helmet would be enough maybe he
Starting point is 00:13:48 was starting his collection for the firefighters so he could switch i gotta say though when i was um driving back from my doctor's appointment on tuesday there was like it was like weird and freaky on the other side of the freeway there was like six like armored cars to the like the ones that like look like tanks like fully equipped they were like with the sirens and i was like damn what is that and then all these undercover cars started coming so they're just like random like suvs and escalades then there was like a van like a delivery van that looked like a mail truck that was like suddenly sirens were going and i was like okay so all of our covers are blown guys like and i've never and it was i was expecting someone to like get like be on a horse and i'd be
Starting point is 00:14:31 like let's go like it was literally like which there are yes horse officers here in la it was like avengers assemble and it was like these cars that were normal cars turned suddenly suddenly had sirens were transforming into this and i was like okay but i was thinking about that guy and i was like do you think he just like bought a siren and had his like civilian car and just yeah he had his no he had an explorer it was in the what i was saying yeah he put it on because i'm saying like if anyone any of those people that did that they i don't know for a fact if they were cops or not they just they just siren their plates are different though that was other side of the i couldn't say but yeah uh another person said this would this is something only a white man
Starting point is 00:15:17 could and would do that's it i screenshot this because i thought it was the funniest shit ever and the thing that what went with it is if i send this like uh you're a ball-headed lion ass bitch i love puns that's so good oh matz is gonna love that one currently his favorite is the um the that reaction picture every time we're on tiktok there's a few of them there's one there's martin no there's one that's queen latifah queen latifah okay and he every time he opens the comment he just scrolls and dilly finds like that reaction goes i love that one that was your favorite one okay then we have my nomination for wrong of the week that kansas city chiefs 93 said they are wrong seven percent
Starting point is 00:16:16 of the chiefs are not wrong as an eagles fan from philly the chiefs are always wrong don't even need context that's exactly how moths would have responded this as well i got into a discussion i was a new phillies fan i got into a light argument but it was funny with a chiefs fan over the weekend who's oh isn't someone's husband a chiefs fan not that i know oh okay so this is a new person i mean i know them to me it's such um so random are you giving up your 49ers or are you just adding the Eagles to your roster? I mean, the 49ers have been benched for years since the Kaepernick stuff.
Starting point is 00:16:58 So you needed a new one. Yeah. Mine are the Lions, the Eagles and the Chargers. And Mons is like, you like three teams and none of them have to be the Broncos. And I was like, well, sorry,
Starting point is 00:17:09 the Broncos social team needs to step it up because there are some cutie patooties on some of these teams. And I really like that. And I know nothing about who's on the Broncos. Sorry, they're not on my algorithm. But that's his fault. Exactly.
Starting point is 00:17:21 I'm like, show me someone who is so happy like my favorite thing is when i don't love football as like a you know a dangerous sport like not not a fan not a fan of the exploitation misogyny all of those things but all of that fades into the background when i see some of these players get onto the field and they are smiling ear to ear because they're living out their childhood dreams that it like warms my heart in a way and i'm like and i like it and also i don't love the bronco colors sorry sorry also something happened to nick bossa something great for those of us who hate him but i can't remember what it was he's still with us but i don't think he's playing
Starting point is 00:18:03 wearing a shirt that supports someone almost killing people running away and then not paying for the damages may be the most unattractive thing ever yep yep ew that was somebody's response yep and that's the last one fitting very very fitting i will say it's a little crazy to me that it's just that that story is kind of just gone i didn't hear about it at all until you said something so and you know that happens because it's bad it's a bad look for one of the few players who did it who's photographed knowingly photographed wearing it on purpose and then suddenly it goes away okay let's read some reviews okay oh i also saw a great comment on not about us but we can use it um uh someone commented on
Starting point is 00:19:10 the amy poehler podcast with regina hall saying i would love to see them play stepsisters trying to pull off a heist with absolutely no resources to save their parents home from foreclosure hijinks ensue i love that i also saw what well they were talking about how like if zombies came back then they both want to die and like they don't want to become zombies and so then they were like we need to be in a movie where we are two people that just can't die during the zombie apocalypse and how much fear there would be around that i have thought about that like writing something like that because i've always said like my whole thing the like even in like the hunger games first thing i'm doing jumping off that platform early shoot me kill me i'm out like
Starting point is 00:19:55 done done and i think that about like zombie apocalypse where like even in freakish i'm like cool uh send me outside with the gas and like let me just let me get let me get this over quick very quick um and i was like but what imagining if you are terrified of like for your life and you're just like trying to die and it's just not working which is so funny i also saw another comment that made me laugh is someone everyone this is spoiler alerts for wicked part two and they commented i this is the this person commented on a video of the broadway cast of Wicked watching the new trailer drop for part two I haven't watched the trailer there's so this is when I hear this you'll know that there's nothing it has nothing to do with this movie
Starting point is 00:20:42 someone commented saying I called it I knew there was something between Fiyero and Elphaba and someone else replied and said look who watched the movie with their eyes open and I'm like I gotta put that in my vernacular like that has to be that phrase I'm adding that to the roster like that isn't that is downloaded and i i died i died i loved that okay sorry those are the only comments i saved that have nothing to do with us but brought me joy okay here are comments from our actual show perfect perfect hear that it's your money calling it wants a promotion elevate your savings with the scotia high-interest savings account. Starting point is 00:22:22 for all of life's moments that's wayfair wayfair every style every home so this was fisting friday named megan's mad at melissa um rachel franklin said megan if you love weird ass sounds i need to listen to ajr they're all about weird sounds and they do how we made this song segments live these are the men who made that spongebob song and i can never forgive them what spongebob song i'll play it for you no thanks i will no you have no choice i'm good they are i can mute you i do have a choice so is that one down what is that called also like not to be not to stereotype not to judge a book by its cover i don't like music by men who look like this like three of them like why are we wearing that ironic hat i have i don't have a problem with it it to me it depends
Starting point is 00:23:25 i don't have an issue with music by i wasn't mumford and sons you know noah khan like i can i can do my white men making music the more you get of them and the more like i'm so different it's giving panic at the disco and i don't do panic at the disco i like panic at the disco that's why i said i'm fine with that stop i think the disco is so good what are you talking about did you like fun yes and their music videos fun um wait it's fun I don't hate this it is very reminiscent of 1950s
Starting point is 00:24:22 shoot-a-wop music and you know I like that music because what what what the nanny no no oh oh greece also saying it's giving that is so deeply generous of you like that that whole beginning that should we that is that is the quintessential part of that music you are impressive that you're able to tune out and like pick up on the rest of the sounds besides like that is it's layering wild and like i'm sure they make better music now but any like i literally saw them like getting
Starting point is 00:25:02 popular like people were talking about them and i was like i've never heard those boys who made the spongebob song they they have not crawled into a hole of embarrassment they are still doth they persisted and i guess they're like crushing it because they're um not too hard because i still this is the first time ever hearing of them 8.9 monthly listeners million and the spongebob one's not even up there 8.9 is not that many is it not 8.9 million million you left out a billion sorry but like yeah they've got a song that's got like yeah they've got songs that have half a let me not try and say how big these numbers are there's nine numbers in them okay no three one two three four five six seven eight nine yeah like nine whole numbers with
Starting point is 00:25:49 three commas two commas okay i guess i'll listen all right and then live jameson said both of you look gorge as always xx thank you thanks i don't know what i looked like but i bet it was beautiful yeah you made me compliment you oh perfect i did oh i look beautiful that day you're right yeah and i don't feel that wasn't the reason why i didn't compliment you is because you had already complimented me and then i didn't want it to be like just because you had complimented me you know i understand i would love some compliments today especially on my juicy lips i don't know if you like those compliments no and then on the see you next tuesday like kissing crypto obsessed cousin it's me sierra here what a name said one feels so honored to
Starting point is 00:26:46 have my comment read on the spanish teacher two the white kids at my school definitely would try to get away with using ninja to be slick yeah and then on but am i wrong same title as the one for next tuesday like kissing crypto cousins reagan cleary said she was the president of taco bell in 2020 so she's who took away my fiesta potatoes yeah that checks out that's in talking about the lady that is now running Cracker Barrel. So leave your comments. We may read them.
Starting point is 00:27:22 Yeah, big fan. Did you check out? No. Cracker Barrel. Taco Bell. You were just not talking. Fiesta Potatoes. Okay. Sometimes it's just my face. Well, you weren't looking up and then you were just kind of doing the...
